"Friendly Fire Pub, huh?  More like underworld dive!"  Barbara Gordon entered the garishly decorated lobby, wearing a black Herve Leger bandage dress.  The formfitting dress showed plenty of leg and just the right amount of cleavage to attract admiring stares without becoming the center of attention.  After all, she was here to fit in, blend in with the rest of the criminal lowlifes and their floozies and boytoys.  Only then could she get the goods on this place and shut it down.  And when the moment for that came, her Batgirl outfit was all ready and waiting for her inside her Honda parked outside.

She walked up to the neon and glass bar.  Ordered an iced tea over the 'clinkclinkclink' of the slot machines, the jackpot bells and the din of the dealers and players.  Taking a sip of her drink, her eyes scanned the crowd.  Looking to see which of Gotham's scum had decided to show up.  Or get a glimpse of the club's mysterious owner. "Frank Patuzi.  What secrets are you hiding?"  She knew next to nothing about him.  Which was more than 99 percent of the Gotham population.  Babs needed to find out who he was and what was going on here.  She whispered into the gold heron pinned to the right strap of her dress.  "Where are you?  I don't see you.  Meet me at the bar."  Her choice of partner was, let's just say, unorthodox.  But she didn't want to involve Batman so her choice was perfectly suited for this particular mission.  However uncomfortable her partner might be with it.  Barb wasn't worried though.  She would do the legwork and heavylifting.  She needed her partner merely for back-up.

Lawton walks into the Friendly Fire Pub, wearing a white button-up long sleeve, black pants, and also gloves on. His eyes  are alight with mischief, lookin for a good time. Also his eyepeice is missing, for once showing both eyes. He kept a knife on him and had left his suit and wrist guns in the van. He sat next to a girl in a black dress, ordering a whiskey glass, "Hey, you don't seem like the kind to hang around here, waiting on someone?" He asked the girl, not knowing who it was.  His drink came and he took a sip, savoring the warm burn as a late-night wake-me-up.

Harley strutted in, in her black and gold dress and gold high heels.

She looked around at room "Woaah check this place out, pretty fancy, huh?" She stood admiring the room for a little longer, then turned around looking for the Joker. "Puddin, have ya got the babies?" She shouted outside. They allowed pets inside so, hey why not bring them! She stood impatiently and waited for him.

Joker had recently found out about some joint where crooks and coppers could just hang out without gunning eachother down in an instant. He couldn't believe it so he'd have to see it with his own eyes. He'd dressed in a black and white suite with a red polka dotted tie. The hyenas were currently dragging him into the pub, they could probably smell the aroma of people and food around them. "I don't know who has who here!" He had to yank on the hyenas leash bringing them to a hault before they could rip the leash from his hands "Seems like a pretty popular spot too... Wonder why we didn't find it sooner?" He said looking at the lively inhabitants enjoying themselves. Near the entrance there were rules on a sign of sorts. He didn't agree with them but he didn't fuss. "Where to first Harl its a night out after all heeheeheeee!" He smiled at Harley.

@HarleyPuddin

Harley giggled at the hyenas pulling Joker and leant down to stroke Bud and Lou and gave them each a kiss. "Be good" She said to them standing up and taking another a look around. So many people, this was a popular joint.

"Hmm, how about the bar Mistah J?" She said with a grin and wink, she linked arms with him. "Mayhem is thirsty work"

The hyenas were far enough in front pulling, to get in her way. "I wonder if we'll spot anyone we know" she looked around trying to spot someone she knew.

The plant woman sat at the bar, her green club dress clinging to her.  She swirled her glass of wine around, looking down into it.  She didn't mind coming to clubs, in fact, she could enjoy them every once in a while when she was with the right people.  Right now though...  Let's just say she's already had to "deal with" a few creeps already.  It felt sad actually, coming to a club by herself.  Pathetic, really.  She wanted to come and have a good time, but she felt more dumb than anything.  If anything, she just wished she was home.

She looked around the club, but came up with pretty much nothing.  The music was loud and the flashing lights were a little bit disorienting, making Ivy just want to go home.  She was about to get up and leave when out of the corner of her eye, she spotted Harley with-- ugh...  Okay maybe if she just stayed still, they wouldn't notice her.  She quickly downed the rest of her wine and ordered another one.  She was going to need it...

Joker smelled a farmiliar scent of flowers and immediately knew who it was. The last thing he needed was for Harley to see Ivy, then he'd have to deal with her plant talk and yammering. He knew the feeling must have been pretty mutual too. Joker walked by Harley's side making sure she didn't get a glimpse of Ivy. Once they were at the bar Joker pulled out a chair for Harley before seating himself.

The tender didn't say anything and kept serving anyone who asked but he did eye the hyenas, he didn't support allowing pets but it meant more customers so more money for him when he got home from his shift.

"So Harl what'll it be? Also for the love of my wallet pick something affordable will you!" His tone was slightly strained with the fact that the prices for drinks here had quite the range. He already knew what he wanted and he'd start out with just a piña colada and see how far he could go from there.

Barb made no outward sign of reaction as the monster that had tortured her father, kidnapped her on several occasions, passed her by.  So close that he brushed her bare arm.  The brief touch sent tingles of revulsion and anger racing down her spine.  It took all her willpower just to maintain control.  But she remained steely calm, keeping a fake smile plastered on her face.  The monster hardly noticed her, didn't seem to recognize her at all.  As the Joker took a place further down the bar, his hyena trotting beside him, wearing an atrocious black and gold dress, his dogs trailing behind, Barb turned to the 'ladies man' seated next to her.

She listened to his pick-up line.  Gave him a mischievous smile, hinting that she might be interested.  Leaned in close, close enough that he could smell her perfume.  Whispered in his ear.  "Far end of the bar.  Woman in the green dress with the red hair.  That's Poison Ivy."  She leaned back, laughed, took a sip of her iced tea.  "Is that a fact?  So, you're here in town on business!  Liar!"  She gave his shoulder a playful swat as she brought her face close to his.  "She looks needy.  It can't be helping seeing her little play buddy hanging out with her Mistah J.  I'm going over and see what information I can get out of her.  I want you to get up and storm off.  Take a side booth and keep an eye on the Joker and Harl.  And... whatever you do, do not let him catch you watching her.  He's insanely jealous."  She backed off, a look of disgust on her face.  "You want me to do WHAT?!!"  She grabbed his drink and threw it in his face.  "Take your SICK fantasies and get the HELL out of here!"

She hunched over her drink, looking hurt, about to cry.  She sat, huddled in her private world of pain while happy people laughed all around her.  Then, hesitantly, she turned her head left.  Then right.  Made a show of seeking out other people.  Finally, her eyes settled on Ivy.  She pantomimed looking down at her drink, looking back at Ivy.  Unsure.  With a look of resolution, she got up, grabbed her drink and walked over to where Ivy was seating.

"Uhhh...I'm sorry.  I saw you sitting here by yourself.  Can I, like, join you?"  She gave an embarrassed laugh.  "I know, I know, it must sound so obvious.  But believe me, I'm not trying to hit on you or anything.  It's just that...well, my date stood me up and then this creep just now, ugh, I don't even want to think about it.  Ya see, I've been looking forward to coming here all week.  Like, really looking forward.  And I don't want to leave but it seems a woman alone, by herself here, has a big target on her back for every creep and loser in this place.  Hey, I totally understand if you want to be alone, I'll take a hike."  She gave Ivy a pleading look.  "But I could really use someone to talk to right about now."

Harley looked around as the walked up to the bar and gave Mistah J a big grin as he pulled a chair out for her. "Gee Puddin you really know how to treat a lady" She said in a lovey dovey tone. She looked over at the menu, scanning it up and down several times. "Hmmm I'll have a cosmopolitan!" She smiled back at the Joker, then leaned over the bar and looked up and down the bar, to see if she could spot anyone.
Near the end of the bar she saw the familair red hair and the green dress, "Woah doesn't she look like Ivy!" She said nudging the Joker with her elbow and pointing down the bar at Ivy. She gasped "Do you think it is her?!"

Lawton flinched as the whiskey and ice hit his face, closing his eyes. He wiped the drink from his eyes, "You just wasted a perfectly good drink!" He yelled, storming off to the bathroom to dry his face and try and recover the shirt. He walked back out, heading to a side booth, sitting down next to the slot machines and listening to them, glancing up every once in awhile. He ordered a new drink, taking a ginger sip of it.

Ivy

Ivy kept her eyes on her drink, not looking at Harley or the Joker.  In fact, she was contemplating her escape.  Her red hair definitely gave Harley the ability to pick her out from a crowd, but maybe if she moved fast enough, she could--

And that's when she saw the scene that some woman was making down at the end of the bar.  She took a sip of her Cabernet and gave an internal laugh.  At least someone was giving these men the disrespect they deserved.  She turned back to her drink for a moment when she heard a voice talking to her.  "Don't worry about it."  She gave a smirk and gestured to the stool next tot her.  "Come.  Sit."

Once the girl was settled in the bar stool, Ivy started talking again.  "I'm impressed.  You handled that situation better than most girls I've seen in here.  You wouldn't believe how many guys just think they can get away with bullshit like that."

"Yeah, I know," she replied, looking grateful as she took a stool beside Ivy.  "Men are SUCH a-holes.  If we didn't need them to procreate the species, I'd say the hell with them all!  Usually, I don't have this problem.  I mean, guys don't come onto me like I bet they do with you."  She looked down at her drink, shyly brushing a strand of hair behind her ear.  "I mean, I know I'm not bad looking but you, you're like gorgeous!"  She blushed, sneaking a peek at Ivy before quickly looking down at her drink again.  When she was able to muster up the courage again, she twisted her head, giving Ivy a sideways glance.  "I'm Barbara by the way.  But my friends call me 'Babs'.  Can I get you another drink?"  She couldn't believe how easy this was going!  She would have Ivy eating out of her hand in no time!

Ivy

Okay, so this girl was hitting on her.  That was cute.  "Thank you.  That's so sweet."  She took a drink of her wine and giving the girl a slight smirk.  "Ivy.  Just Ivy.  Nice to meet you, Babs."  If this girl didn't know who she was by looking at her, then she didn't need to know the whole story.  Something came over her, as she quickly glanced over at Harley and the Joker, but looked back at Babs.  "You know what?  Sure.  I'd love another.  Cabernet."  She grinned at the girl.

"So tell me, Babs.  You said you needed someone to talk to?"

Joker just kept smiling until Harley spotted Ivy, but now she had company with another girl. She looked farmiliar but he didn't want to stare it might give Harley the wrong idea. He brushed off the excited elbowing and tried to make her rethink"Well evwn if it is the walking shrub she appears to have company with her."  Joker spoke with an irritated tone and a scowl. He ordered his drink and Harley's and paid up. He grumbled to himself and stared at the drink before finally taking a sip of it. If Harley left he could just go play cards of course, swindle a few schmucks out of their cash with his trick deck if he needed to.

@HarleyPuddin

Harley kept staring, leaning further over the bar squinting her eyes, she noticed Ivy look back at her, then turn around again. She gasped, shes ignoring us!! Harley was about to go leave to speak to her, when her drink came and she got distracted. "Oooo pretty~" She said staring down at her drink. "Mistah J~ we should go dancing later~" She said taking a sip, noticing his frown. She pushed the sides of his mouth up.
"Awwh come Puddin, turn that frown upside down" Harley said in a babyish voice, smiling widely at him.

Barb signaled for the bartender.  "Cabernet for my friend...Ivy"  She thought for a moment, looked at her iced tea.  "Know what?  Lemme have a Vodka Twist.  With lime."  She turned back to Ivy.  Grinned.  "Live a little, right?"  Ivy asked her if she needed someone to talk to.  "Oh man, do I!  The stories I could tell you...  But hey,"  she looked a little embarassed.  "I have to,,,eh, use the ladies room.  I'll be quick, promise.  So, hold that thought!"  She got up, started heading off, then turned around, laughed.  "Don't start drinking without me, okay!"

Her smile disappeared as soon as she was out of Ivy's sight.  Inside the ladies' room, she wiped off her lipstick.  Reapplied it carefully using a different tube.  Reached back into her clutch bag and pulled out a small pill tin.  Opened it to reveal an assortment of pills.  Took out a pair.  These would effectively absorb all the alcohol in her body.  Keep her sober no matter how much she drank.  She took out another pair of pills.  Dry-swallowed them.  These ones had a decidedly different yet equally important function.  She looked in the mirror, checked herself while speaking into her hidden mic.  "I'm heading back to Ivy.  Keep an eye on the Joker.  If he goes anywhere, follow him."

She walked back out, the smile returning to her face as she waved at Ivy.  Saw that the drinks had already arrived.

Ivy waited for the woman to return, her face returning to a frown.  She was cute, but that was it.  She was just company.  She gave a small smile as the bartender, who seemed "entranced" by her.  "These ones are on the house, Miss."

"Thank you.  You're too kind."  She gave the man a wry smile waiting for the woman to come back.  She hardly noticed when the woman sat next to her again.  Though when she did notice, she gave the woman a wide smile.  "Welcome back."  She lifted up her glass of wine.  "Cheers.  To not having to sit alone at a bar, looking positively pathetic tonight."

"Cheers!"  She downed half her drink in one gulp.  Looked at Ivy with a sly smile.  "So...tell me, Ivy.  What do you do for a living?  Waitwaitwait, don't tell me."  She closed her eyes, furrowing her brow.  "Ehhh...I GOT IT!"  Turned to ivy, snapped her fingers.  "You're a university professor, aren't you?  Something like 'Romanticism in Early 19th Century English Literature.'  You just have that look about you.  You know, that hidden intensity lying underneath that calm exterior."

Then something caught Barb's attention and she had to make a split second decision.  "Hey...is that Harley Quinn?  I think she's staring at you.  Do you know her?" she asked in disbelief.  "Play it cool, Babs.  Just play it cool."

@HarleyPuddin @ByTheChesapeake @LoneSniper87 @ManyFaces

Joker forcibly removed Harley's hands from the corners of his mouth "Let me start by saying I don't dance in clubs and I would appreciate it if you kept your hands out of my mouth!-" He said ending in a sweetened tone that still had its menace, he looked at her for a moment in silence before sighing sharply "You know what just go see her... If anyone tries anything you get me so I can tear their lights out. I'm going to play a bit of cards."  He said getting up and grabbing his drink. His smile returned but he wanted to get away from Ivy right now but he'd be keeping tabs on her if she tried anything with his girl.

Ivy

The woman raised her eyebrows, watching the girl down half her drink.  She drank some, but not all of her wine.  She smirked leaning her elbow on the bar and resting her chin in the palm of her hand.  She scrunched her nose and shook her head.  "Not quite.  I liked it at one point in time, but I kind of lost interest in literature after high school...  No, I have a Ph.D. in botanical biochemistry from Washington State University."  She took a drink from her glass.  "I do a lot of... cross-breeding, I guess you would call it."

Now, she looked over. It seemed that Harley finally noticed her.  "It is."  I guess there was no avoiding it now.  "I do.  She's a friend of mine."  She smiled and waved to her friend.

@BrainyGrrrrl @HarleyPuddin @ManyFaces

Her grin quickly turned into a frown as he removed her hands and she shrunk in her chair.

She just wanted to cheer him up, maybe she should of just made a joke hmm...

Harley nodded as he spoke. "But Puddin!" she called out as he walked away, no use he'd already gone.

She looked down at the hyenas "It's alright babies we can have fun by ourselves right?" They jumped up at her and she leaned down, giving  them strokes and kisses. She asked the bartender for a bowl and some water, which she assumed was free and put it on the floor for Bud and Lou.

She grabbed her drink from the bar and swivelled around and peaked a look at Ivy. Who was she with anyway? She seemed like she was having fun without her.

She turned her nose up and  downed the rest of her drink, the ordered another drink, flirting with the bartender to get a free one.

She looked down again and saw Ivy waving, oh now she waves.

Harley decided to ignore Ivy, that'll teach her to ignore her.!

A frown of disapproval appeared on Barb's face but then she saw Harley snub Ivy's friendly hand wave.  And it appeared that the clown girl didn't recognize her.  Didn't remember that she was one that came to see her and Charlize in jail not too long ago.  This was the perfect opportunity.  She turned back to Ivy.  Gave her a mischievous, come hither smile.  "Your 'friend' doesn't seem too interested in you at the moment, Ivy.  Seems she has her heart set on the Joker more than you.  Maybe we should test that out."  She got off her bar stool, took the few steps required to bring her right up against the vine lady.  She lightly placed her hand on Ivy's shoulder.  "Wanna make her jealous?  Find out if she really cares about you or not."

Ivy sighed when Harley ignored her, turning back to her drink.  Well, she did deserved it.  She should have walked right up to them earlier and made the Joker's night a living hell.  Then again, he didn't seem all that happy right now.  As far as she was concerned, her job was done.  Well, almost done.  There was still one more issue to attend to.

The girl started talking to her, trying to tempt her.  Ivy turned to her and gave a small smirk.  She got up from her bar stool and stood close enough to the brunette that there was less than a centimeter away from them.  They were just about the same height, making locking her emerald green eyes with the other's eyes easy enough.  She smiled as she leaned in and whispered into Bab's ear.

"I know she cares about me.  Now, go away."  Her voice was full of venom.  She pulled away, showing that her smile had turned into one of complete disdain.  This girl might have made a nice snack for Lavender, but it wasn't worth inspiring any kind of toxic feelings between her and her best friend.

@BrainyGrrrrl

Harley drunk her cocktail as she watched Ivy and the other girl, if looks could kill this new girl would be six foot under.

Her eye twitched in annoyance when she saw them get close to each other. Who does she think she is, huh??

She tipped her head back finishing her drink. "Hit me with another one Jeeves" she called to the bartender. "Gonna need something stronger." Harley said turning around, missing any indication that Ivy wasn't into this girl.

Where was Mistah J anyway, they were supposed to be having quality time, he could play cards anytime!!

She brought the glass to her lips and blew bubbles into the liquid menacingly.

Fine she would just stay by herself  all night.... She looked down at Ivy again. Okay maybe not all night.

Harley got up and made her way towards Ivy, hyenas following behind.
