Name: Yael; The Trickster
Age: UNKNOWN (looks 24)
Gender: Male
Appearance:
Commission for doctoryuri by challele in deviantart
1662b1ad48247d6643a2869d6b84ddd3.jpg

HEIGHT: 5'9"
Court affiliation: N/A
Weapons:
  • Dagger
  • Claws
Magic:
  • Animal Shape-shifting
  • Animal Communication
Personality: Playful, curious, clever, charming, and mischievous. He is a trickster at heart, and will constantly play with the emotions and intentions of those he encounters. It seems that he is constantly balancing between relying on his human consciousness and knowledge and his animal instincts. He cares little to none on what people think of him personally, and his manners tend to reflect that at times. He does come to care for the well-being of people and he is more than willing to punish those who do wrong. It is in these times of judgement that the worst of his animal instincts act out the most. Due to his shapeshifting taking energy to do, he is constantly hungry, or in need of snacking. Therefore he can be found eating anything and everything he manages to get his hands on and that is considered eatable.
Background: No one knows how he came to be, or where he came from. Not even himself! He is known to be a trickster that travels the land, lending knowledge and aid to those he pities. He plays tricks, entertains people, and serves as a storyteller. He does have morals, and can be found punishing and tricking those who catch his bad side. He cannot help himself to get involved with the affairs of people, and has caused countless of situations and revealed countless of secrets to the people from each other. With how things are going right now? He is more than happy and interested to see where this goes.

Yael is accepted! I may not be able to incorporate him into the plot until the next chapter of the RP since he is unaffiliated, though if you have an idea on how you'd like to introduce him please feel free to do so. :)

Name: Incarose Vassar

Age: 22

Gender: Female

Appearance:
592539

Court affiliation: Unaffiliated

Weapons:
592540

Magic: Uncontrolled fire magic

Personality: Outspoken, impulsive, dutiful and kind

Background: Incarose Vassar was born in a normal no-magic family from the city of Vita in which her father was part of the police force and her mother was a seamstress. She had a very normal early life, going to school in the mornings, playing with her friends, enjoying the weekends with her parents.
All of that changed when a group of scouts from the courts began to look for potential candidates to bring back to train them as mages. A pair of them, from a court Incarose cannot remember, took great interest in her, even though she couldn't perform any sort of magic. They told her parents that she had the potential to become a powerful mage that could help the rest of the people by studying on their court and later apply that knowledge for the good of everyone.
After several attempts to recruit Incarose, her parents finally agreed to let them take Incarose in, she was not very happy about it, but if her parents thought it was the best choice then she was going to do her best to make them proud. She later learned that this was all a ruse by a group of traffickers who wished to kidnap and sell untrained mages as slaves and weapons. Many attempts were made by Incarose to escape from this group and they always ended up in failure, until one day she succeeded. Or so she thought.
This group had given her the chance to escape and go back home, only to find her parents tied up inside the house and the leader of this group waiting for her. For what felt like hours she was forced to manifest and unleash the power inside her in the form of a firestorm inside her home, effectively taking the lives of her parents, only to notice that the group had disappeared and later being blamed by the murder of her own parents by being an untrained mage.
She had to escape the city, go far away to avoid being captured, and so she wandered the land. For many years she traveled between cities and towns, taking any job necessary to make money to survive. The memory of her parents' screams as they burned in the fire haunting her dreams most nights. Her only wish is for her to be able to get rid of the magic inside her to avoid more tragedies, tragedies such as what she did to her parents.

Incarose is accepted! I like how you gave her backstory such depth. Feel free to insert her as you wish, or, as we'd discussed, meshing her in with the scene at Eirika's ranch.

I think I will insert her in the scene at the ranch.

Name: Quinn “Oberon” Lawrence

Age: 27

Gender: Female

Court affiliation (if any): Vivifica

Weapons: Mossberg 590 Mariner

Magic: Light, Earth, Minor Bio manipulation. (Primarily small plants like Ivy nothing bigger than a very small tree)

Fairy Light- Quinn can loose blasts of light from her hands and shotgun with this magic. When combined with her Plant manipulation it can also be used to set up fairy ring teleportation circles.
Earth- Quinn manipulates the stones in the earth.
Bio Manipulation- Quinn can coax certain plants and fungi to grow near her, this is limited to only the size of a small tree.

Personality: protective, strong willed, confident and calculative. But when you arent at the end of her shotgun, she can be rather kind. However she is faithful to a fault.

Background: A self proclaimed servant of the Vivifica Court with Origins fairly unknown. Quinn herself often stalks the forest’s around the Court. Acting as its protector. She grew up amongst those trees, basking in the light that broke through the trees, playing in the river, and simply taking in the feel of the mystical world around her. Such elements seemed to have promoted her strength with Light and Earth based magics, while giving her minor control over the smaller plants around her. With these proficiencies she practiced away from the other mages, in a small grove she called her own. Meditating, creating small spheres of light that were left flitting about like faeries. This was routine for her for years. Now, as stated before, she trusts Vivifica fully, kneeling towards any superior who would ask a job of her, no matter how dangerous or questionable it would be. Vivifica is her home and she will do anything to protect it. Like a faithful dog and its master.

And there we go. My Umbra girl!

Name: Diane Corbeau/Cerberus

Age: N/A, looks in her mid twenties

Gender: Female

Appearance:
596400

Court affiliation: Umbra Court

Weapons: Prototype Enhanced Artificial Limbs (Left arm and leg)(Prototype of Magitek)

596403
Gun capable of shooting arcane bullets infused with magic. Each bullet will explode on contact with the force of a granade, unleashing a powerful explosion of arcane energy. It can only be used a limited amount of times (3) before it overheats and is unable to be used.)

Magic: Fire magic, Shadowmancy, Necromancy, Umbrakinetic Constructs and weaker elements by different runes and charms put on her artificial limbs.

Personality: Strong willed, clever, calculative, taciturn

Background: A girl from the Court of Umbra whose whole past is a complete mystery. She has been on the court for countless years, her name often in the form of whispers and rumors to scare the new recruits, each previous Maester/Maestra has been in the knowledge of the young woman and her status as a lich, a being seemingly unable to die unless their phylactery is destroyed, and her use as a guinea pig for the Court's experiments regarding necromancy and the manipulation of the soul thanks to her ability to be destroyed and later return whole after a few days had passed, she has been a great asset for Umbra's search for knowledge about life and death. Previous Maesters/Maestras gave her the codename "Cerberus" along with a half mask resembling a black dog or wolf as a sign of her status as the guardian of Umbra's secrets, often thought by outsiders as the Gates of the Underworld, a place where souls would be forever trapped in torment.

One rumor says that Diane was once a young apprentice from the Court of Ignis, thanks to her natural affinity with the element of Fire, while others say that she was an exiled from the Court of Somnum who delved deep into the art of Necromancy, so deep as to turn herself into a lich to further continue gathering knowledge. There is also talks about her being a former experiment from Vivifica from many centuries ago, but none of these rumors has been confirmed and she will not reveal her true origin.

The only answer she has given to anyone is "The print was so small I didn't understand."

She is in the service of Maester Gerik Lockford, current holder of Diane Corbeau's phylactery, as a fixer, a person who keeps the Court's research and experimentation under wraps, by any means necessary, a person who the Maester will order to take care of other mages that wish to change the status quo by having accidents.

Court affiliation (if any): Ignis
Weapons: Pair of Chakrams (two sets of these, fitting together as throwing discs)

Lever Action Hunting Rifle
il_794xN.1762094760_3g9v.jpg

Magic: Flames of the Phoenix; The Alighieri bloodline is know for their aptitude for the rare type of magic known as Phoenix Flames. Like other fire magic, Phoenix Flames is a powerful destructive force when used offensively. It can also be used to form temporary solid surfaces, such as shields. Anya uses this aspect to actually direct and recall her chakrams with tendrils of flame. It is also able to be selective about what it burns. Perhaps the most perplexing aspect of the Phoenix Flame is it’s ability to heal and rejuvenate. Skilled practitioners can ever revive the freshly dead (“mostly dead”) with its sparks.
There is some theorization that the magic has a bit of a mind of its own. The firebird motif appears to be built in, and happens even if a wielder actively tries to suppress it.
It is a dangerous form of magic to practice, with many an incautious hopeful turning themselves to ash by “angering the Phoenix”, as the saying goes. As such, many success practitioners employ devices, totems, and the like to safely wield the Flames. Anya herself has extensive Itika tattoos to help her contain and control the Phoenix Flames.
Personality: Anya is laid back and friendly. Her usually role among the Ignis Court is “Den Mother”. She’ll let the mages under her care get away with more than most authority figures, but will do anything to make sure they come back alive. There is a couple of grizzly stories about what happened when some rogue mages decided to target young Ignis mage and Anya found them first. Still, she is outgoing enough to make friends with almost anyone. She is friends with even members of other courts, forming the glue for a few inter-court missions.
Anya tends to be matter of fact about the harsher realities of life. People die. Things end. But one thing’s end is the start of something else. Even in the darkest moments, it’s possible to see the sparks of a new light.
Though she doesn’t advertise it, Anya can be quite crafty and manipulative when she wants to be.
Background: The scion of the legendary Alighieri family, Anya’s upbringing was one of privilege and expectations. Her family had always held high offices in the Ignis Court, with a few of her ancestors even holding the office of Maester. Injuries early on life prevented her father from retaking the position, so he made sure his only child was prepared to fulfill his dream for him. Had her father gotten his wish, she would have grown up a resentful, bratty mage. But life has a way of changing things.
The day Anya definitely marks as the change to her destiny was when she was still young, some bandits attacked her family coach on their way to their country estate, killing her father and taking her captive. After several days as captive, it was clear they took her because of the Phoenix Flame insider her and that someone was paying a lot for it. She was saved from finding out who so soon when a rogue mage named Shaw broke her out. Though her relationship with her father was strained at best, she still swore vengeance against those who orchestrated this attack. Feeling their goals aligned, Shaw offered a mutually beneficial partnership.
Spending several months with Shaw, Anya was exposed to a different world than the one she was born to. It was dirty, unfair, and dangerous. Several times, Shaw would let her get in over her head to teach her a lesson. Though they had a rough start, the duo became friends, with Anya developing a crush for the rogue mage. They eventually found the mage behind the attack, attempting to harvest the Phoenix Flames for himself. Avenging her father and helping Shaw with his goal. They parted ways soon after, but kept in contact from time to time, though they’re meetings lately have been few and far between.
Returning to her mother and extended family, Anya began thinking about the larger world she was exposed to. She began looking at the Ignis Court not as an obligation, but as a means to make a difference. She eventually took her place among the court, but to her family’s surprise and disapproval, as a guard mage.
Over the years, Anya has gained more standing and respect in not only Ignis Court, but the other courts as well. Most of Ignis views her as the “cool aunt” of the court. She was suppose to leave with the Daruk and the others headed for Sanctus Heights, but she got caught up trying to wrangle a volatile Ignis mage with rage issues...

Name: Vlad Von Rediric
Age: 29 (???)
Gender: Male
Appearance:

601050

1595473224789.png

Court affiliation (if any): Somnus

Weapons: Shadow's Iris (The sword in his appearance).
An extremely sharp and durable blade forged by the finest blacksmiths in the land, tipped in the shadow of Vlad's own soul, the weapon is perpetually in tune with its owner. Iris automaticaly charges natural magic over time, emmiting a red glow when fully charged, Vlad may opt to charge it manualy on certain conditions. When charged the sword's next attack will release an extra powerful arcane blast.

Magic: Obtenebration (Unnatural Projection and control of shadow magic). "Vampire" Factor.

Notes on Obtenebration: Obtenebration is by all intents and purposes unnatural and strange to those who see it, Well versed shadow mages refer to Obtenebration as an art only devils use, and that any use it shuns the wielder from any divine redemption they may have later in life, as the particular subschool of shadow magic further damns the user's soul and twists their appearance as they use it.

Obtenebration allows Vlad to project shadows himself, create his own shadows and darkness as he pleases, and have control over the same shadows he creates and the natural ones as well, this in particular allows him to act in full condition when an area is well lit, which would limit a normal shadow mage. Vlad's appearance also changes heavily as he uses and dabs further into Obtenebration in the course of a possible fight.

The first sign of change is the right side of his face turning completely black, as if engulfed in uncanny shadows, his right eye turning into a demonic red color, trailing in the darkness. Not further changes have been shown so far.

The school of magic also allows the user to become one with shadows, diving into his own or other's shadows and moving along the "shadow plane" as some shadow mages call it, this allows Vlad to excell in not only stealth but spionage as shadows cast by don't appear any different than common shadows projected by light and objects. Vlad is fully aware of the outside and can listen in to conversations easily. He can be dragged out of the shadows by anything that can disrupt said things such as light. But it must be shined on where he currently resides to drag him out of it.

Vampire Factor: Vlad is definitely not be a vampire, but that doesn't mean that his fighting style and magic aren't eerily familiar with one's. Vlad can employ blood magic based spells and attacks, infecting the opponent's blood and draining them of their vitae, which in turn nourishes Vlad, healing his hunger, exhaustion, and mana in return. He may bite into someone's neck and drain them of their life and blood, adding to his own. However blood is a limited resource, while Vlad's wounds seem to regenerate and close literally seconds after being inflicted, it all uses up the blood he has stored within his body, the less blood, the less powerful his blood magic becomes. And once he reaches a certain threshold his body may begin to malfunction and shutdown, as if he had anemia. He can drain blood in two ways, by absorbing it directly through his bite or by draining it with direct contact to his skin. Each wound healed expends blood, and each spell expends blood.

Personality: Once a respectful, shy, polite and kind gentleman now turned Jackass. Ever since Vlad's dab into Shadow magic and necromancy he became much more outgoing, but also much less respectful, flirty, and much more mischievous, but always being extremely charismatic, he is the type of man you'd picture leading his own clique or street gang.
His disposition and general mannerisms always keeps others guessing as to what he will do.

Something he maintained from his first years in the court was his somewhat of a twisted code of honor. When he makes a promise he will go to the ends of the earth to complete it, when he sees something he likes about a person, expect him to still be a complete jackass to them, but with a more endearing tone, and helping them out in his own way.

Background:
"I care not. And so I am immortal, for the moment anyway, then I start caring again and I get hurt." - Vlad uppon sustaining otherwise deadly wounds.

Vlad's story is one of change, born into a noble family, the Redir, with two other brothers and a sister. None of which showed any signs of magic aside from his sister and him. He showed to have an affinity over water magic and shadow and his sister over Air, Water and Earth, They were deemed the flagships of the family right then and there, the role models and always pressured as such. Mostly by his father, as his mother sympathized with him and his sister's plight.

Trained in proper etiquette, chivalry, politeness and mannerisms Vlad became a proper gentleman, top hat and all, but one could always see he was never being truly himself that way. The same for his sister, who was always pressured to be the model woman of the noble family. Until one day she snapped and ran away from the family to start a new life as a non court affiliated alchemist, using her magic to enhance her craft.

Vlad was not so lucky, never having the courage to leave or stand up to his parents, he was the one to inherit the family's riches on adulthood. In order to keep away from his Noble responsibilities he began training swordsmanship with a fellow neighbor, also from a noble family, a girl who dreamt of being an ignis mage. A relationship quickly bloomed between the two and eventualy it resulted in both of them dating behind both their parent's back. A relationship that was never found out.

A few more years in the prison that was his home life, his duties became ever the more tiring and time consuming that it drove him to near insanity. Until one faithful day he hired a bunch of mercenaries and a certain bounty hunter to "kidnap" him from his home in the dead of night. This was, of course, a ploy to escape his father's clutches, and his hometown, Vicus Elbii entirely, never to set foot in the little port town ever again.

Not choosing to hide his identity, but not saying his full name to anyone that he didn't trust with his life, he managed to avoid being recognized as a noble for years. Joining the Somnus court only helped hide himself from his family's eye.

Not two years in the court and he had already gotten somewhat of a name in the court for his noble mannerisms and demeanor, something that was hard to get rid off over time. But it all changed when one day he found a book detailing the effects of Shadow magic, and one's own soul.

It was then he also found out that he also had an affinity to a different part of necromancy, instead of raising shambling corpses he discovered he had control over his own soul, and could affect other's as well. Soul magic offering the promise of nigh immortaliy by trapping one's own soul inside the body. He secluded himself for days reading, practicing his shadow magic and necromancy, not only did he develop a way to clone himself using shadow magic, but have great control over shadows and even manifest unnatural shadows as well as use them as weapons.

His Water magic turned into blood magic soon after he learned these dark arts, considering it wasn't all that uncommon for water mages to practice bloodbending at least once in their lives he figured he could do the same.

Breaking the noble mask he fully released himself to who he was, a charismatic jackass who loves to live and dabble in the richest debaucheries known to man, women and creatues, always with a mischievous plan in mind, he not only enjoys playing with other people as well as wooing the mages from his court and from others as well. His main target of these pranks is most of the times is Thea Nero, the Maestra of Somnus herself. Whom he took a strange liking to.

Funnily enough he has been accused to 'drinking blood' from other mages or civilians, something he never confirms or denies fully. Not that anyone ever snitched on him anyway.

"Now I ain't never drank anyone's blood...not without consent anyway."

Name: Makoto Suzaku "The Phoenix-Fist Monk"
Age: 22
Gender: Female
Appearance:
602759
Court affiliation (if any): Ignis
Weapons:
Fists and Feet
Pressure Point Knowledge

Magic:
Blast Magic (Fire, but specifically uses it to causes explosions despite being well versed)
Chakra Manipulation (Can manipulate her natural chakra to heal most internal wounds/some outside wounds, power up her punches, and unleash Aether blasts. She also can manipulate it to allow her to fall from great heights without harm, though the impact from her landing is not lessened.)
Kinetic Conversion Magic (Can take any energy stored and convert it into energy to attack - ex: can take all potential energy gained from landing from a high altitude to punch as hard as her terminal velocity, for example. She can manage how hard/how much is used.)
Lightning (Mostly used to charge her body or send her charging forwards. Most Lightning-Based attacks tend to be Tazer effects or a Lightning Kamehameha)

Personality:
A confident, flirty Ignis brawler, she is a fairly loud, sometimes measured, and always explosive girl with the fists to match. Always up for a good spar, she's loyal and always has her friend's back through thick and thin, even if some of them can't survive her when she gets too wild. Sometimes she can get a bit too wild and into what she's doing, leading to harm to herself and others - but she always does her best to be a good friend, something many Ignis mages have found they can count on. She can stay extremely calm under most circumstances, a trait that has garnered her a reputation for being the one who'd laugh in the middle of the apocalypse.

Background:
A tomboy whose always let her fists do the talking when she gets annoyed, Makoto has lived for most of her life at the Court. Her father, who owned a bar, was killed during a fire while saving her. Mourning, she found herself with the blessings of Fire, and, while others may have self-loathed, she instead chose to embrace it. The fire took her father away, but she'd not be afraid. She chose to join Ignis to harness and grow more powerful, so she would never fear Fire - it would fear her. She was eight when she came to Ignis.

While training at Ignis, she met and became friends with Henry Heid. Seeing is brand of Blast Magic, she worked to use it for herself - and created her own form of fighting where her punches would have shaped Blast Magic to avoid harming her, but inflicted the full force of the blast on her target. Along with this, she practices the art of Chakra Manipulation, unlocking all Seven Chakras by the time she was seventeen through pure determination and understanding. Focusing on her natural kickboxing ability, she augmented her fighting style with martial arts from afar and magic, becoming a devastating close quarters battler.

While Ignis headed to Sanctus, Makoto was already at the City, though during the fire had been out fighting a few monsters terrorizing a farm. She has returned, hoping to see her friends from Ignis.

Name: Eden Xion Silvius of House Takemikazuchi
Age: 29
Gender: Female
Appearance:
vato-velvet-crowe.jpg

Court affiliation (if any): Umbra
Weapons:
Hidden Blade
Mana-Infused Thread woven into bandages on her left arm
Thunder-Forged Blade: Kusanagi (Temporary)

Magic:
Dark Magic (Expert of Black Lightning)
Illusions
Expert Appearance Polymorph
Light Magic (Limited, no healing)
Telekinesis

Personality:
Distant, cold, aloof. These are the first thoughts many think of when they see Eden, but none but her beloved has worked to find the truth beneath the dark. She is a compassionate, loving individual, born into the ancient Lineage of Takemikazuchi, an Umbran Mage who was one of the first of the court. As the only heir, the weight is crushing, and she harbors a deep shame for having let the other families of Umbra ostracize her for her relationship with a Vivifican Archmagus after the trouble with Vivifica started. She loves her daughter Eclaire tremendously, having gone from the sole heir of an ancient family to a mere maid, prostrating herself before the Court to give Eclaire a home and training after her flight from Vivifcia. Truly, Eden cares more for the family she made then her lineage, her Court, and her dignity.

Background:

House Takemikazuchi, an ancient lineage from the beginnings of the Umbra Court, long stood as masters of Polymorph magic, teaching many in how to be expert spies (and assassins, though these claims are denied). It is said that those of Takemikazuchi's disciples could change their appearance with but using the passing crowd as a cover, disappearing and reappearing as if they were ghosts. Over the years, though, many of these teachings began to fail - diluted through experimentation, and a distaste in general of such things. It was not until Eden's birth that many felt that this loss of House pride would be able to resurge. A natural at the ability of Appearance Polymorph, she grew to be an expert at it...but she was not one for idle spying. She began to learn both how to use a Variable Length hidden Blade and offensive magic, mainly Black Lightning. For House Takemikazuchi, this was a boon - for one of their ancient relics was the sword Kusanagi. Training with it as well, she never grew fond of it, preferring to use a mixture of martial arts, the hidden blade, and Black Lightning - among other Dark Magic.

This changed when she met her beloved.

Falling in love with a Vivifican Archmagus who cared not for Courts, the two spent years together. Her Family demanding, begged, and threatened her to leave the Archmagus, but Umbra was the bastion of selfishness, and as such she followed her own heart, followed her own desire. This culminated in a child - Eclaire. Of course, when the child was young, Eden chose to begin training her in Polymorph. As those in the present would find out, it would prove to be a trying thing. The Polymorph went out of control, beyond mere hair or eye color. The naturally pink-haired child morphed partially into a feline, and as Eden worked to fix this, her poor daughter would eventually age as a cat would, too. With none of her family offering help due to her decision to have a child with a Vivifican Archmagus and not a lineage of Umbra, she worked for two years to fix the problem. Managing to partially work Eclaire back a bit, her daughter was now seventeen. Unable to think of anything else to do, Eden sent her daughter off to Vivifica to learn from her father.

The final nail was Vivifcia's Itika mining. As her now nineteen year old daughter showed up, confused, lost, and needing a home, her family threw them out without care. Destitute and alone, Eden, who for awhile had already been working to be self-sufficient, unlike the oaf of a family who needed servants for everything except using the toilet, took a job at a somewhat sympathetic noble's house as a maid, securing a small home for them. With a roof and food, she then went and petitioned the Court to accept her daughter, throwing herself at their mercy. Thankfully they accepted Eclaire, and Eden was able to work at ease, knowing her daughter's future was secure.

But word of the battle at Big Bridge has reached home. Whispers of an automaton reeking havoc in Sanctus Heights were starting as news trickled in. Taking up her hidden blade once more, Eden has taken flight towards Sanctus Heights, worried about her daughter.

Making a character for the Tenebris Court

The Tenebris Court thrived for centuries before its demise. Always there were fifteen seats, filled by aspiring mages who had a passion for Regalia's success. The Tenebris Court presided over the land, ruling justly by its fifteen court members. Their court was served by attendants who had specific roles, these attendants are who we now know as the Seven Seers.

Over a thousand years ago a threat invaded Regalia from a distant land. Wars were waged, and many mages' lives were lost. From the fallen soldiers rose the remains of their mana, a raw form of it called Itika that was not refined and easily consumed by the wielder. In an act of desperation, the Tenebris Court utilized what Itika they could harvest and blew back the threat with tremendous force. Their enemies retreated, never to return to the land of Regalia again.

However, the damage had already been done, and it consisted of much more than injuries sustained from the war.

It surprised the court at how easily they were able to augment their powers and drive an invading force to the brink of ruin with such a minute amount of raw mana. What if they used this mana for other purposes? What if they made their lands fertile, promising everlasting crops? What if they prevented winter, and created a never-ending summer that had no repercussions due to the Itika enhancing their environment? Soon Regalia was changing, and for the better. The people had almost everything that they desired, and the Tenebris Court felt proud.

Proud, and yet deprived. Despite the growth of their nation, the growth within themselves, they still felt that it wasn't enough. It was never enough. Itika was now harvested regularly and supplied to the court, and out of fear of being misused, they banned it from public use.

The seven attendants grew increasingly concerned as the Tenebris Court utilized more and more Itika. They saw them transform before their eyes, becoming individuals that they hardly knew. When the Itika harvested wasn't enough, mages were gathered and slaughtered for their mana, insisting that this was for "the good of the realm." They discovered that mana could be used to heal illness, could be used to prevent aging, and thus they could live as immortals. They could have everything that their heart desired. Overtime, the court became selfish, self-serving, and dependent on the Itika that enriched their lives. Without it, it was quite possible that they would die from the sheer withdrawal.

The Tenebris Court, once the just ruling power of Regalia, became something to fear. They presided over Regalia with tyranny, ruling more for their own desire than anything, and viewing the general public not as their people, but as their cattle. A dark era fell over the nation, and the attendants knew that the court had taken things too far. No amount of reasoning was heard, and there was nothing that they could do to stop them. They turned to an ancient relic to destroy them. And, while the fifteen members of the Tenebris Court perished, they were too strong to disappear from existence for good. They continued to thrive as wraiths, trapped in the Spirit Realm devoid of mana. However, that did not stop them from trying to return. Their return was prophesized--the seven seers have foreseen it--and now slowly, silently, the court is rising from its long slumber, and it is perhaps only a matter of time before they rise again to seize control of Regalia as they once had.

Only this time, they would crave revenge.

------

When creating a Tenebris Court member, you are creating one of the original fifteen members that ruled Regalia over a thousand years ago. They have been sealed away in the Spirit Realm as a spirit for a very long time, and have either come back to the human world via vessels, or lie in wait until the time is right for them to return as their true selves, in their own forms. Some are actively using vessels, though the majority is biding their time. These characters have been tainted by their heavy use and reliance of Itika, and are truly antagonists. They can be on any spectrum of the classical evil (lawful evil, neutral evil, or chaotic evil), but they need to have an evil alignment in order to be a Tenebris Court member. Get creative and feel free to make any type of villain that you wish. While I will permit one or two turncoats, I am hoping that these characters will be adamant about their goals and be willing to pursue them--right to the bitter end.

Here is a sheet for you to complete for your villain:

Name: Galla the Bloodless
“A vita ad mortem”

Age: 34

Gender: Female

Alignment: Neutral Evil

Weapons: Proficient in pole arms and knives. She particularly creates weapons from bone. Specifically bones in her body

Magic: High Necromancy, Blood Enchantments, Bone Magic. Mana Vampire

High Necromancy- Using The Dark Rituals at her command Galla can raise the dead with a frightening amount of accuracy. This art can be modified by other forms of magic.

Blood Enchantment- Galla can forcefully enchant items by sacrificing blood to them. Such enchantments take time to prepare but can be expended on the fly to create various triggered effects. As this is an offshoot of blood magic, Galla can manipulate blood freely to attack and defend.

Bone Manipulation- By applying contact to a target Galla can manipulate and contort the bones within to her will but only in preportion to how long she can maintain contact. It Takes effort and against living targets.

Mana Vampire- Standing with an obscene cooldown. This attack only works when contact is made with a target. Upon making that contact Galla taps deep into her necromatic powers and tears the mana and Stamina from her target. The target will feel very light and floaty before intense pain kicks in. After that their stamina and mana will begin to return.

• Something worth noting of Galla’s magic is that her spells are loosely based in old Latin. Some of these phrases can give way to the result of the spell she is casting.

•Galla has shifted her body to only seem normal from the outside. On the inside its a mess of shifted organs and extra bones. She lacks blood as well. Her own body stands as a testament to thr strength of her own magic. Living as more of a lich then anything.

Personality: Inquisitive, Quiet, Fearful, Weak Willed, maddened, polite, jittery, stressed.

Background:

An excellent Necromancer in her time, Galla was known not only for her magic...but her fears. Everything terrified her, from her own death, to the deaths of her close court companions, to the smallest of insects, even at her oldest age she still feared the dark. Fear is often her most constant state, almost anything and everything terrified her. This drove Galla to seek a way to defy these very things. Fear drove her to do anything and learn everything. Her ideals on necromancy were not for power but to use what was originally beleived to be useless. Recycle the matter. However upon the discover of Itika and its power Galla proceeded to test its uses, eventually reaching a stage where it could be drank like a potion, its form, that of a fine silver liquid. However, its adverse effects proved dangerous. Her exposure to the itika drove her fears wild. She began to see and hear things that werent there, whispers would beg her to destroy the things she feared most. If sought out most would often find her breaking down from the panic. Consolation from her allies was one of the only thing that would calm her down. If not calmed Galla will lose control of her magic letting it run rampant. If this happens Galla will seek to destroy everything that scares her trying to turn it all to dust.

Name: Phaedra Gein - The Huntress/The Judging Sun

Age: 30

Gender: Female

Appearance:
fdbhndbh.png

Alignment: Lawful Evil

Weapons: Bow that uses mana to create arrows, poisoned daggers

Magic: Fire magic, Wind magic, invisibility, intangibility, self-cloning, wraith form, and teleportation

Personality: Quiet, knowledgeable, cold, deceptive

Background: Born in the times of a younger Regalia, in a family who showed skills to perform so called miracles. The women of the House of Gein were often healers of the people, while males were in charge of protecting the populace. Phaedra was the exception to the rule, and instead of following the steps of her predecessors, she instead joined the law forces, slowly raising through the ranks, eventually joining the new Court of Tenebris, a court made up by mages who wanted to keep Regalia safe. With the passing of the years she became one of the most important people around the land, she judged those who had commited crimes and often attempted to bring them back to the path of law and good, she was loved and respected, but once the Court began to grow obssessed with itika she became feared by those around her. Punishments became unbearable, prisoners often opting for death instead of suffering, and Phaedra was sure to make that suffering last in order for them to pay for their crimes. She came to be known as The Huntress, for her knack of pursuing those who she thought were against the court's rules, or The Judging Sun, for her extremely enhanced fire magic capable to burn a normal mortal in seconds.

Name: Sheba; The Undaunted
Age: 24
Gender: Female
Appearance:
141.png

Alignment: Lawful Evil
Weapons: Sheba's Battle Axe
Magic:
  • Alchemy Magic - Capable of transmuting items via alchemy
  • Summoning Magic - Capable to summon creations she has made
  • Dark Sygil Magic - Sygils of dark magic that manifests into a physical, damaging form to be used and manipulated
Personality: Inquisitive, daring, outgoing and headstrong. She never backs down from a challenge, and her thirst for knowledge is unbound. She truly believes that knowledge should pursue all ethical laws. That knowledge is what shall lead the world forward into the stars, and has no guilt in using humans as experimental fodder. If anything her askew views would try and convince them that they should be honored, for they can finally serve Regalia with a purpose...
Background: Born into a house of peasants, she was shown to have great ambition since young. With magical and mental capabilities showing outstanding promise, she was eagerly accepted into the court of Tenebris where she proceeded to flourish beyond expectations. Her thirst for knowledge could never be satisfied, and her bold approach to the unknown credited her with many small, but impressive discoveries, giving her the title of the Undaunted. She dedicated her life to make creations to make Regalia better, productive, and its citizens happy. She studied ways to introduce magic into the populace, and from her sketches and trials some of the first few Magitek came to be before being lost to the ages. When Itika was found and introduced, Sheba studied rigorously, and what began as a new tool to aid humanity slowly tainted her mind, and her thirst for aid blinded her from morality. She went further with her studies than ever before, and her place of sanctum and healing became the grave of many. Prisoners were taken from Phaedra's hell to be brought into hers, where they were used for human experimentation of all kind. Children, women, men, the sick, the incapable, any and all who came to her either for medicine or for advice never left. Her philosophy only became more askew; only the healthy were needed in society. And the others? The sick? Why they could be used as fodder and slaves! Their bodies reformed to become stronger, better, faster! By the time the other courts came to the realization how far gone Tenebris had become, Sheba had made vast advancements and discoveries at the cost of suffering and pain of countless of innocents. Her 'creations' were given merciful deaths, and her notes full of details of her experiments burned along with the rest of the court. She still desires to make Regalia 'better'...for knowledge has no end.

Alright here goes.

"Tell me, when you die, where is your god?"
Name: Amon Gedeon. Infinitus Odium "The Infinite Hatred."
Age: (minus the thousand-year time span. Essentially how old they appear physically before they stopped aging). He looks to be in his early twenties.
Gender: Male
Appearance:

1578454139583.png

The Susanoo
1578454406145.png

Amon finally snaps and engulfs himself with a supercharged Ouroboros, entering an entirely new form with massive destructive power. His moveset and abilities take drastic changes as if he becomes an entirely different beast, this form is also much taller than him, sporting a respectable 7'5 height.

He gets an entirely new rushdown and heavy collateral damage fighting style with a few grapple moves, specializing on destructive energy blasts with his fists and sword, as well as using his entire body as a weapon by turning it into pure destructive energy. Very AoE heavy attack style with a lot of zone pressure.

His speed increases threefold, as his attack capabilities double as well. This form provides temporary healing, meaning damage sustained before the form will be healed over in this form, but will still be there when the form ends.

"You should have run, now you will perish"

His Mind eater and Force eater combine into one
Essence Reaver.

Certain attacks allow him to crush a person's psychological state, heavily damaging their composure as well as disrupting their mana signatures. These attacks are telegraphed and dodgeable, but hard to do so when in a combo. They are caracterized by a bright flash of green energy with black outlines.

"Your existence holds no meaning."

Freikugel: An extremely powerful breath laser attack with a cooldown.

Punishment: Amon takes a defensive stance and readies to counter an attack, this can be used as he is being attacked and he may feint one of his attacks into this stance to throw off an opponent. Should the enemy hit him during this stance, he will either block the hit if it's a weaker attack, or tank through it if it's a stronger attack, and deliver a crushing deathblow to the enemy, depending on the distance he may opt to do a high speed lunge attack or a punch or sword stab.

This counter attack upon landing activates both effects of Essence Reaver upon landing, should the opponent not dodge.

"Useless!"

Overwhelming Presence
"Bow. For you are in the presence of a god!"

The sheer pressure of his aura emanates in a brutal fashion in his surrounding enemies. Just being near this form is enough to cause weaker minded beings to run, and to frighten others.

His Conflict and Wrath are replaced by War and Unrelenting Execution
No longer holding back, Amon is entirely focused on destroying his opponent in any way necessary, his anger and hatred fuel his power in this powered up state. His attacks become much harder to block and he can destroy magical barriers with extreme ease.
Unrelenting executions makes it so that damage dealt by him is harder to heal as well.

He also feeds off people's fear and damage he deals to others as well as his own hatred, all are stored within him to be unleashed at his leisure, not just from people's hatred of him.

"I will destroy you."

He loses his ability to summon the ourobouros at range and at close range, as it is now fused to his body, but he can utilize its massive energy projection capabilities to unleash hell with charged punches, energy blades, energy cyclones and turning his entire body into a damaging ball of energy to decimate the opposition.

"DIE!"

And he gains a new finishing skill Roar of the Mad King: Symphony of torment.

Alignment : Chaotic Evil. All the way baby.
Weapons: The Ouroboros.

An invisible energy weapon bound to his very soul, it manifests itself like a simple pair of knives (see first picture). But in truth its an ever extending spectral snake-like energy weapon that lives in its own space, and can be summoned at will through portals to attacks at range or close, as it is bound to Amon's soul, is also able to strike the opponent's souls, and even gives him the "Mind Eater" ability. On certain occasions he can project the ourobouros as a physical energy projection of a giant energy sword.

The Ouroboros seems to be able to resonate with other people's minds and emotions as well, which is why Mind Eater is a thing, the ouroboros heightens the people's emotions around him, making them easier to exploit, it is none of Amon's doing, it is the very weapon acting by itself.

The origins of this "weapon" are unknown, could it be man made...or is it a living entity?

Magic: The Ourobouros binding: A special bind that allows him to summon the ourobouros at will without any cost to his mana, in exchange for a part of his soul for a weapon of such power. This also enables him to utilize it's ability of energy projection.

"it's much more than just a weapon!"

This unholy pact also provided him with inherent physical power, as his strength increases drasticaly when Ouroboros is active, as he charges himself with the weapon's energy when utilizing it, this combined with his nimble frame and agility makes him a deadly foe even without his daggers in hand. This strange binding also allows him to enter the realm in which the ouroboros resides, allowing him to change positions in combat or move to another place entirely.

Cursed Copy: Using his strategic and manipulative mind, Amon is able to analyze an opponent's signature moves and steal them for himself, all he needs is proper analyzation and the opportunity to turn the tables, this is not an instant process, nor can he keep a copied ability forever without practice, this process is sped up if he manages to land Mind or Force Eater on someone, as he can better understand someone's mind.

Enhanced Cursed Copy: Should he really enjoy a copied move, he can store the move in his mind and keep it for longer, the move also gains new properties and increased effectiveness, should he train with the move he will permanently memorize it.

"Let me show you how it's really done."

Magatsu : ???

Mind eater: The ability granted to the user of the Ourobouros, the ability to eat memories of others, this ability deprives someone of a memory, as Amon absorbs it and remembers said memory instead, he finds fond memories especially delicious. The target can remember a lost memory with enough effort and concentraton, but it may have holes in the remembrance. While it is mostly used for messing with others this ability can be used in combat, albeit with difficulty, in order to employ misdirection and confuse foes.
Memories include happy memories, old memories, and even memories about one's skills and techniques.

A person will know that a memory has been stolen from them the moment he eats it, and the mind will try to piece things together, this can easily throw a foe off the fight, useful as a disruption tool.

"Feeling a bit...forgetful?"

Force Eater: Amon's desire to deprive his opponents of power and leave them helpless against him drove him to develop this skill in his time as a royal mage of the tenebris court, certain abilities of his have the ability to drain the raw mana of others, and as a mage's soul is a ripe source of mana it's an all you can eat buffet. This in turn fuels his mana with his enemy's own, usualy utilized alongside the ourobouros's snake like attacks.

This ability pales in comparison to Galla's, who served as an inspiration for it's development, he cannot fully drain someone of their mana and he needs to physicaly touch them in order to drain them, they can both break off or struggle out of his grasp when he does so, and he needs a small charge up period before he can start draining, as the ouroboros coils around his arm and he concentrates his energy into it. This attack is dodgeable.

"You're talking a lot of shit for someone in that distance."

Conflict and Wrath: As a self proclaimed "Consumer of all that is despair and hatred". Amon has develop a average size aura that fuels him based on the emotions of his surroundings, if someone enters the aura's range, and they are hostile to him or he is hostile to them, their mind begins to be affected by it. they can feel two types of emotions, rage and the desire to kill him, or fear at his overwhelming presence. Both fuel Amon's power and the more those feelings increase due to exposure to the aura, the more power Amon feeds off of it. One can resist the aura's effects, albeit they cannot become immune to it without an absolute iron mind. This is a residual effect of his magic combined with Ourobouros, effectively a mutation from their pact together.

Similarly, the angrier Amon gets the stronger he becomes as well, becoming a raging berserker of unstoppable properties if need be to kill anyone standing in his way.

"...you really thought i'd let you go?"

Personality: Manipulative, Sarcastic, Mean and just plain unlikable, easily angered when things don't go his way.

Amon is...a bad person, to say the least. Ever before he became a Mage of the Tenebris court he was always bad and dubious, always seeking to further his own agenda, whoever he trampled on the way be damned, he took pleasure in causing pain and despair on others, these emotions have only intensified due to Itika corruption.

He is a hysterical, childish sounding lunatic who only wishes to murder and wreak havoc upon the world that sealed him away, he does not share his fellow Tenebris mage's goals, he wishes only to destroy the world of cause chaos in it if he can't, he has no "Right cause", he never had, he just enjoys evil.

Behind this child like hysterical behaviour lies the mind of someone much more insidious and strategic than one might imagine, he manipulates all those around him, even his own allies, and does not care.
During his time as a wraith, having to watch the world go on without him and Tenebris, he has gained a lot of...apathy towards the people, and the whole world for that matter.

When in battle he is even worse, he taunts and belittles his opponents, causing anger and hate, while avoiding killing them outright, instead playing with them to make them suffer, but when angered he will outright kill you without hesitation.

Surely there must be a method in his madness? Is his rage at the world just directed at the chains that bind him? that always keep him from achieving what he wishes? freedom? Is he bound or is he free? are we all free or are we all bound? What could propel him to such lenghts as to cause pain and despair to the world and everyone in it, is it anger against the so called "god?" for having a definite path one should follow and any "deviation" be just a part of the greater plan? Or is he just insane and should be put down? Can you even put someone like this down? when his hatred binds him to the world?

Background:
"Greater good? oh please, there never was any greater good."

One of the members Tenebris, though not by his own choice, and one of the worst of the lot, ever since before his initiation in the Tenebris court he never really cared for their goal, nor their cause, he was in it for the power of Itika, freely bestowed and granted to him, he just hid it all under a veil of "Might makes right" and "greater good", in truth he only did it because he enjoyed conflict, death and pain. His childhood is unknown to all but him, and he is not one to tell people about it.

In fact he wasn't even supposed to be in the Tenebris court in the first place! he was always a rotten piece of shit, but some people still held onto fate that he could be changed, and could be turned to the good side, and his cousin, the by then current maester of the court saw fit to try and get him in, not by nepotism, but by practicaly forcing him to take the tests and enter the court, vouched by other members like Phaedra who somehow believed in him and actively attempted to help him, he was then made a member of the tenebris court, who tried to keep his powerful magic and general outbursts at bay and lead him towards a better path, to help the people. Something he went along with over time, seeing a perfect opportunity in playing along with them and acting the part of a better person, but he never at once considered truly changing his ways. It was all a ploy.

Though he did attempt to quit many times, after the threat that endangered Regalia he had considered leaving on several occasions, as there was only so much "good" he could possibly force himself to be and deal with from the other members, but he ended up staying...after Itika had begun changing everyone's mind, turning them from do-gooders to tyrants, each with a twisted reason for the atrocities they did, he felt almost at home then. He probably played a large part in the continued descent into madness and evil that became Tenebris, and he enjoyed every moment of it.

He was the one who gave the idea of sacrificing innocent mages for itika harvesting to his fellow mages, who were so corrupted with Itika that they could not refuse the idea, he marveled in this, all of this conflict and despair, it was downright euphoric. Any forces that came their way and he was tasked to deal with were anihilated without survivors or mercy, no quarter was given to those who opposed him, be them woman, elders or children, though he usualy spared the latter should they prove capable of growth, only to torture them further.

On the day of the Tenebris's defeat and subsequent sealing, Amon had unleashed his full power, becoming an unstoppable monster of energy and rage, proving to be a formidable foe even against the weapon used against them, but it was fruitless, he was still defeated and sealed away, but his hatred and anger remained, binding him to this world through spirit. Downright willing himself into existence as a black green smiling wraith, who watched the world grow alongside his fellow sealed mages as they also were wraiths, but for other reasons other than pure hatred. Some say he had vessels, and as the conflicts between Vivifica and the courts grew on, commoners would report mad cackling in the empty fields and a dark, smiling silhoutte during the darkest hours of the night, wandering.

He waits for the day of his and Tenebris's return, to manipulate, destroy and cause havoc in the land and its citizens.

"What was once a human is now a demon, a wraith of unending evil and hatred for all that exists, his humanity long since absent, only the vile desire for destruction and chaos remains."

There is something...eerie, about his general presence and aura, it's like he isn't there, but at the same time he is, he exists, but at the same time he does not, perhaps he is not entirely what he seems?
"You call me a monster, yet you all willingly take civilians for cruel tests and sacrifices? Hah, I didn't pick you for a hypocrite as well! " - Lost dialogue dating a thousand years.

"Oh Sheba, you can hide all you want under this veil of lies you call experiments, but at this point if you truly wanted you would have found means to avoid needless deaths! You're just as bad as me! you do it because you enjoy it! you are just too arrogant or misguided to admit!" - Lost Dialogue directed at Sheba.

"You call yourself a rightful judge, yet you cannot judge yourself for all the suffering you cause? and then you have the gall to call me an evil person? you make me laugh Phadry." - Retort towards Phaedra, thousands of years ago.

"Still afraid, Gally? Don't worry, im sure with us there is nothing to be afraid of. " - Amon's "encouragement " to Galla.

"You can sweet talk all you want, hide it all under bravado and ideals Nady, but deep down that seemingly righteous head of your...you enjoy killing, you enjoy letting loose, I know it, I can see that clear as day - Personal retort towards Nadir during a discussion long ago

"Oh Pavrum, you amuse me! You think yourself a leader and a teacher, but you are a tyrant and a manipulator, you treat people like lambs to be guided and slaughtered, like insects you'd just love to step on, you would do well to be more honest with yourself! let loose!" - Amon's ramblings to Pavrum, lost to time.

"Hah! you really think these people love you? that they appreciate what you do? let me shine some light in that diva brain of yours, they don't like you, they don't give a shit about what or who you are! they are afraid of you, they treat you well because they know you can raze them to the ground in a moment's notice, but you can't see it, can you? of course you can't after all how could they hate someone so beauuuutiful? ohh how can they? Let me tell you how! Let me fucking tell you! they pity you! you continue to sacrifice more and more of yourself for them, as they are use you as a fucking tool for their leisure, look at yourself in the mirror ychy! you continue to give them all you have, they will just continue stepping on you and using you like a slave, stop lying to yourself! and act with some god damn spine" - Amon's outburst at Ychera

"You know what Ale? I don't even have anything to say to you, in fact you are already so far gone that I don't need to say anything to you, you just keep killing and killing! eating and gorging! And we will get along juuuuust fine." - Amon to Alester

"Oh please, now you decide that you care about her? you childhood friend? now? after you've just broken her heart and failed to make her happy? now she will go find someone better, a better man than you, someone who can take care and protect her, someone she can rely on, clearly that isn't you! not anymore! after all you just blew it! this is all so frigging hilarious! Graahhahaha! I knew choosing you as a vessel was a good idea! Thanks for all the delicious despair and rage! Now it's time I ditch you, I have plans of my own now."
- Amon as he ruined a vessel's life, and using his despair as a power source.

Name: Nadir Valdez, Beast of the Cloth (Also known as: 'The Bestial Clergyman', 'Deliverance of Fate', 'Protector of Death's Flame', 'Enforcer of Tenebris's Judgement', 'The Black Blade')

Age: Indeterminable

Gender: Male

Appearance: 11 feet in size and heavy, Nadir bears vicious, wolf-like features with what little of him can be seen through the many tattered brown robes wrapped in old ropes around his body. His hood totally obscures his face, but the lower fur of his jaw protrudes like a small beard from underneath the hood, but his wolf-like feet are bare, wrapped in a few scant bandages, as are his clawed hands, despite his long sleeves. From his movement, the subtle clinking of metal can be heard, yet its source cannot be determined.

Underneath this attire is Nadir's set of obsidian black armour, an intricate set that covers his chest, limbs, lower body and head in its protective, if slightly battered plates. his lack of hood also reveals his impressively long silver hair that sticks slightly upwards.

Alignment: Lawful Evil.

Weapons: Cinquedea - A large blade that functions as a dagger in Nadir's hands, it is a decorated blade used in ceremonial religious practices, scaled up for a beast of his size. Bearing the blade increases the power of his Bestial Incantations.

Clawed Seal - A Talisman, capable of allowing is user to wield Bestial Incantations, and enhance them. Even without the seal, Nadir can use these powers.

Shattered Hammer of the Faithful - A stone hammer, damaged by time and use, embedded with shards of hard light. An old weapon Nadir will occasionally use alongside his Light of Repentance, as well as imbuing the weapon with its divine might.

Black Blade of the Fated Flame - The true form of Nadir's Cinquedea, taking the shape of a large, corroded greatsword imbued with the power of the Flame of Fate, coating it in a constant aura of black and red flames.

Magic:

General Abilities - Transformed by his Itika usage and numerous experiments, Nadir's large stature grants him greatly increased strength, as well as increased speed and agility thanks to his training even being able to jump high and even float for a time, good defense and heightened senses, particularly his sense of smell. He has acquired a high tolerance for pain, in part because of his new shape, but also due to his repeated self-flagellation and the constant pain of bearing the sealed power of Death within his body, afflicting him with an endless hunger for anything associated with Death as well.

Way of the Beast - A form of magic that Nadir pioneered many years ago, to allow users to become more in touch with their instincts and gain strength from it. As well as the passive benefits from walking this path, such as sharpened senses, the Way of the Beast teaches many incantations for offensive and defensive use, for instance Bestial Vitality which instills the caster with passive health regeneration and increased stamina for a short time, Bestial Constitution which stems the flow of blood from wounds and quells the effects of the cold, reducing blood loss and frost-magic effects on the body, Bestial Hide that increases a user's durability and defense, Stone of Nadir that lets the user lift a chunk of Earth from the ground and hurl it at an opponent, Beast Claw where they can drag their hands, or claws, along the ground to send five claw-like shockwaves in a fanning motion towards enemies, Nadir's Beast Claw which is an upgraded version of the skill that lets the user plunge their hand into the ground, forming the same claws as before, then ripping it out, causing several, much larger claw-like shockwaves to emerge in a circle from the point of impact, Bestial Sling to throw smaller shards of rock more quickly to interrupt or just knock foes off balance and Rockfall, which causes several large chunks of Earth to rise from the ground, into their air, to either fall back down where they were, or be launched in a volley at distant foes.

In general, the Way of the Beast is an advanced form of Earth manipulation and increasing the capabilities of the body, to mimic those of the beasts. Nadir's own mastery also lets him send quakes through the ground, cause small or large pillars and chunks to rise from the ground as obstacles or ways of harming enemies, especially if he smashes them, shaping Earth into discs to roll at enemies to trip them up and other miscellaneous abilities, including sensing errant tremors in the ground.

Light of Repentance - As a beast of faith, Nadir draws upon another magic that lets him wield the powers of light, to rain its judgement upon his foes and fellow sinners like himself. Spear of Repentance lets Nadir conjure and throw an abstractly-shaped spear of hard light, impacting with foes and exploding, or embedding itself into the ground and also exploding shortly afterwards, while Spear of Temperance is a spear that is always thrown at the ground, before bursting into a small field of persistent Light damage which lasts for a little while. He can also channel this power through his hammer to send out light-based shockwaves through it, or cones that either explode immediately or leave behind a delayed explosion to throw off enemies.

The Fated Flame - While he would prefer not to use this power, if he unseals it from the medallion on his hand, Nadir's true power will be unveiled, forever relieving him of his horror hunger and eternal pain as a result of sealing it. Using a Death Rune of his own making, Nadir can control the power of the Fated Flame; a black and red fire capable of bypassing most physical and magical defenses to cause great damage to enemies, to reduce their maximum health temporarily and burn them to their very soul. It is said Nadir's legendary flames are capable of slaying the very Gods themselves. Many have fallen to these flames and it was by his oath did he declare the power would never be stolen from him again, as it once was during the disasters that followed the decline of Tenebris.

Through his great blade, he can slash and hurl projectiles at distant foes, concentrate the power by planting the sword into the ground and forming a sphere of cutting energy that surrounds him with several rapid slashes, produce explosions of Fated Flame through the tip of the blade or with his hands, throw fireballs of the Fated Flame, unleash a storm of fire, carrying the power of death destined for any foes caught in its burning wake, and much more. At his peak, Nadir could fell armies with the Fated Flame, even their toughest warriors succumbed to its power. But when it was once unbound, the power could be easily misused, so he bound it into his flesh and his soul, it could only be undone by his hand and even then, that puts it at risk of being stolen again.

Personality/Background (Merged): In the past, Nadir was a respectable man of the cloth, a Reverend, who served the Tenebris Court, always faithful and diligent, praying every morning and evening, once known as the most noble of the Court, even amidst his peers, the common folk could turn to him in their times of need for confession or advice. His family was well off and he had a beautiful wife with whom he had several children, the bloodline of one later going on to sire the father of Soren Monroe even. But when the great threat came to the doorstep of Tenebris, the Court discovered the sheer power of Itika, repelling the threat, but being sent down a dark path, Nadir along with them.

Over the years that followed, he too experimented with Itika, for "the good of the realm" as he and others preached, to prevent the deaths of crops and aid the masses, but this eventually degenerated into more selfish acts, to extend their own lives into eternity, to gain more power, to grow beyond their humanity and in Nadir's case, to shed his faith to become a God in his own right. An ambition that led to the decay of his morals and the loss of his Death Rune, causing untold devastation across the land by those who would misuse it, including the lesser adherents of Tenebris. Though he reclaimed it before the Seers rebelled, the damage was already done and soon enough, he too would be delivered unto the spirit realm by the hand of Ira.

Left to reflect on his misdeeds along with the rest of Tenebris in the spirit realm, Nadir was among the few, or perhaps the only one, to realize his own mistakes, his failures, most importantly to him; his sins. And they had begun to weigh heavy. During his exile, Nadir sealed away the Death Rune into his soul and upon reincarnation, it will be imbued into his flesh, afflicting himself with a terrible hunger for anything related to death, in particular the Deathroots that have sprung up in corners of Regalia thanks to the misdeeds of himself and those who misused the power of the Fated Flame. This hunger wracks him with eternal pain that he intentionally aggravates with a whip as penance for his sins, reclaiming his faith in a higher power and seeking to atone.

However, Nadir feels bound to Tenebris and its ways, meaning despite his desire to atone, to do better, it remains in the Court's name, its old ways, its old tenants it once embodied that he still follows despite the ongoing decay of his kin. Meaning he will still fight for Tenebris, to restore its order, all while seeking to restore what it once was and the minds of his colleagues, so that the world can truly be as it once was under their guidance.

Name: Merrymaker the Jokesmith (True Name: Punchinello)

Age: ???

Gender: Male

Appearance:
YR9KgzM.jpg

Court Affiliation: Somnum

Weapons: A myriad of weaponry, Daggers, Bottles, Mallets, so on and so forth, who knows?

Magic: Trickster Magic, Illusions, Lightning and Transformation. Through these pow---*BLAM*

"Ahem, sorry, that was getting a bit too formulaic and dull for my liking. Hullo there sirs, madams and those between! Let me nail thing down: *Hammer sound* So, I am quite capable of using my own brand of magic called "Trickster Magic". My illusions and the power to transform kinda sorta fall under this, but are distinctive enough to be their own, mmkay? Doing so entails me deceiving and misleading friend and foe alike, depends on my mood, with illusions of monsters, sudden sounds, their dreams made manifest, so on and so forth, but if that fails? I can quite literally make them ACTUALLY be made manifest and become a ridiculous, grandiose monster at will! As Somnum requires in their oh so tedious guidelines, I can also use Lightning to give them a buzz! 'Course no one ever believes me when I say I do, but this moment of weakness allows me to trick them into a good ol' handshake and voila! A nice buzz to get their blood flowing."

"Now I hope you're sitting down for this one, seriously, I can provide many chairs! *Unveils chair selection* Thrones for the more elegant and elevated of you amongst the audience. *ahem* So, to explain "Trickster Magic"...it's versatile to speak lightly of my particular talents. As a Trickster, I can move at high speeds, nigh-instantly, flash-stepping I believe the kids call it? In the interest of SOME degree of fairness, I can only flash-step three times in a row before I need to cool off. Yes, I also have incredible evasion, meaning most attacks are not likely to hit me, but also, through the Trickster Logic, I can take a lot of punishment, if I do say so myself, heh heh...oh get your mind out of the gutter, I can barely feel pain and it won't show as much, resilience! It also, now brace thyself, lets me summon...almost anything! Creatures, objects, items, weapons! Anything I need to defeat troublemakers, assuage Maesters and generally, make merry with my friends and foes! It's as simple as a click! *Mouse clicks* OH! Oh, I-I don't even know what this is, *Nervous chuckle and a clatter sounds*"

"Being a Trickster, I am often considered a Weaver of Chaos by scholars, tough guys and fearful bandits, if we're going to be proper about it, but they're right! Also dead! Kidding, kidding! Maybe. Using Chaos Energies, I can use your more typical magical attacks...if typical magic attacks liked to do what they want! I can manifest unaspected versions of seemingly elemental magics like Blizzard, Fire, Water, you know, but their behavours are weird and wonderful! And even truly nonelemental magics just sorta fling and explode around, like Ultima Upsurge! Instead of a simple AoE, it must be slamdunked and will explode upwards, it's a bit crazy, eh heh heh...Hey, at least I can pull my weight when trickery, deceit and jokes don't get things done! *Straightens tunic* Tough crowd, honestly."

Personality:

"Simply put? I am the Life of the party! *Smiles under mask* Also the death of one! But only if it's a low-effort, crappy get together, I can't stand those awkward affairs, it's like Christmas I tell you! I can barely take things seriously at the best of times, but if push really, REALLY comes to shove, I WILL knuckle down, because you hurt my friends? My allies? My delightful compadres? And it's not for a joke?! Then PREPARE TO FEEL THE BURN, BOY! Or girl, or whatever's in-between or neither, I am an equal opportunity Jester and ass-kicker. *bows* Otherwise, I LIVE to obfuscate, to delight, to trick and to make light of as much as humanly possible, it's what gives me life! Some call me mad, others call me delightful. I like the latter more if you can't tell, *chuckles*. They're my favourite, but don't tell anyone! Zip, shut, don't! *Zips mouth* Mmmmph mm, mmmph, mmph...*Unzips mouth* Ugh, sorry let me repeat:"

"There's only one other thing I truly despite apart from bastards who hurt my friends, my dance partners, my...well I'd say extras to the performance, but that's just too demeaning! But I really hate hate hate hate hate hate HATE those who claim to have authority, to be the boss, but utterly lack the SPINE to back it up, who are as weak of heart as they are of stomach. Seriously, these kinds of people can barely hold their midnight snacks never mind a Sunday Roast, lemme tell ya. And I've one particular person in mind...they serve as a good verbal punching bag."

Background:

"What? Tell you a bit about my past? Doesn't that ruin the magic?! Wait, wait wait, no, that's explaining my methods, of course! Which...I...already did...crap. Ahh well, in for a penny..."

"I was once a ravishing young youth of a comedian who amused people on stage as a commoner, but then, upon a sudden, during a routine, my powers manifested! And in typical late bloomer fashion, they were sudden and bountiful! I almost roasted a theater of patrons if I didn't turn away in time, it was certainly something! *Fires off a chain of Lightning* Something like that! Anyway, it was then that Somnum picked me up and helped me learn to control them, but then, I evolved them, built on them and slowly became the Merrymaker you know me as today! You see, comedy remained my passion even as a mage and I longed to merge the two together in holy matrimony! It never got so far, I couldn't conjure up the right ring, but it all worked out in the end, of course."

"Like that strange little Laguna, no one knows my real name, but unlike them, my comrades can at least see my beautiful windows to the soul! I consider that essential to the act~"

"I might tell more! But not now. For now, I must get back to business. Until next time! Play the music!"

Name: Ychera Vencii, Primrose of the First
Age: 36 before the parting
Gender: Female
Appearance:

Short, cadaverously thin, with shoulder-length chestnut hair tied neatly into a set of three buns, sharp aquiline features, and a primrose carefully preserved above her right temple, Ychera was what some might call lovely and unchanging. A scythe decorates her back on ceremony at first, and later through use. Like her weapon, she retains a few things regarding her farmgirl nature. Her clothes are simpler and have a modest elegance, her hard and rugged walking boots on the farm continued to be worn, and she is often associated with the flower she loved as a kid and continues to wear.

Nowadays, things have changed. Her skin darkened to reveal her inner nature, her hair is untamed, and her eyes lust for how things once were. She is a shadow of what she once was through the Itikan corruption, and the once paragon achiever is now self-centered, desirous for living once more. She still harbours her calm and calculating nature, however, and the recent scar of losing an arm remains a constant reminder that she needs to remain such.

Alignment: Neutral Evil
Weapons: Scythe, two-handled and fiercely sharp. Technology allows her to manually turn the handles within the scythe so that it only has the body of the bridge and the scythe head observed.
Magic: Lightning magic (free manipulation of electrons that can take physical form and energy form), projection magic (a vision-auditory-based spell which can cross dimensions for communication; this has been done with Jari to feel out his intentions and to allow him to be a suitable host), time-inertial magic (rewinding the actions and movements of items that have not yet lost their kinetic energy [for instance, reversing a launched arrow and releasing it again for a surprise attack]), and preservation magic (the art of allowing time's presence to weaken in a set location or object, chiefly done on objects).

Personality and Biography:

Ever a people-pleaser, Ychera built around herself a life of self-rejection and consistent protection of others. She was as strong as she was charming, and her early life, while hard for her, was benevolent to all those around her. She loved humanity and hated death. The war assured her of this. She hoped that there was some way to better one and annihilate the other, to create a utopian society. With Itika, this proved possible, or so she thought.

After years of doing what she thought was right for the people and was favoured as a result, she found that their liking toward her was chiefly because of her appearance. Her thoughts turned inward for the first moment in a while. She took greater care of herself, and she redoubled her efforts. When she was young, vibrant, and full of life, the Mage Court was burgeoning with its understanding of power, and her elegance froze as a result. She used preservation magic on herself, a taboo among court mages, but the results were astonishing. Hair remained steadfast, her pretty blue eyes never lost their luster, her structure was beatific, and her skin stayed flawless. However, appearances can be deceiving. The token of her family trade, a scythe meant for hewing grain, was soon finding itself less used for harvest due to abundant crops, and more and more bloodied in favour of the Court's new standards and the demands of the public. Somewhere along the line she lost her way, becoming less honorable than her once pursued ideals, and still she seeks to redeem the land that betrayed her using a corrupted code.

Name: Alester Grey the Nothingness

Age: 25

Gender: Male

Affiliation: Tenebris
Alignment: Chaotic Evil

Weapons: Hand to Hand Combat. Use of weaponry is often Improvised

Magic: Umbramancy, Gravity Magic, Dive, Dead Star Magic, Faded Song

With Umbramancy Alester is able to manipulate the cold shadows of the land to his whims. Diving in and out of them. His most common use of these shadows is to hide from, restrain, or shoot his prey.

With Gravity Magic, Alester splits his prey to different parts of the areas around him Sending some skyward some to the left and other to the ground. He also uses it to create a sort of a pseudo flying mechanic.

Dark Dive- Alester dives through the veil to shift his location. He can actively choose to take or force a target to come with him as long as he has contact with them.

“Whether you travel in a pack or not. You are my prey and you will be hunted”

Dead Star Magic is an off shoot of Umbramancy and gravity magic. This spell makes him unable to use Fire Lightning or Light magics as the mana of this magic simply devours the spells. The very essence of this magic devours light and coverts it to power. Its violent and destructive in unskilled hands. It is capable of crushing the very air around him. Dead Star magic is weight and shadow incarnate. The spell is only able to consume, collapse, and devour and only after a short delay. The magic now coalesces inside him causing him unbearable hunger but also allows him to eat almost anything.

“Pillars are meant to be destroyed, you Can build all you want, but I will devour your work”

Faded Song is a unique spell that activates as the user “sings”. The song acts as a charming effect to those around them warping their perception and causing them to somewhat forget that the user is their, simply standing in the corner of their sight a blindspot. The powers are drawn out of a rare creature called a false hydra. A beastly terror that feeds on people and turns their existance into a falsitude. The higher up he is the greater the range

“Stand aside meat bags! Here comes the king of the beasts!”

Personality:
Confident, Prideful, Destructive, a bit of a show off. This side of him pales in comparison to how gluttonous and lazy he can be. Only pushing himself if he believes he will get something out of it.

Background:
A monster hunter back in his day, Alestair Kept the Populace safe. His methods were swift and heartless, but still little pain could be felt for any of his targets. He was a rather spiritual magician. After joining Tenebris he created a small crew of hunter type mages to continue his work while he helped with Tenebris. Then came the Itika and the bait of Immortality. He couldnt resist to charm of the endless hunt. Alestair took part in the itika rituals and his changes came quick. He stopped hunting with respect and turned to sport, his strikes were violent and he wanted a struggle to occur. The kill was what he wanted, the chase was just an added bonus. Soon he found himself devouring the very essence of the creatures he killed. Eventually absorbing their strengths. He desires to be the top of these food chain, no matter the cost.

Until further notice, the sign-ups for additional characters is now closed. I feel that I'm reaching my cap of characters that I can successfully weave into the story and keep track of. Should this change I will be sure to give an update. Thanks. : )

Name: Saffron (Saff for short)
Age: 26
Gender: Female
Court affiliation (if any): Unaffiliated/ Bounty Hunter
Weapons: Heavy Shotgun, Magitech Handgun, Combat Knife

Magic:
Wind- Saffron gained her mother’s wind magic upon birth, this is the weakest of her Magic’s but the easiest to raise in mastery. Having received proper training from several people she can now use the very winds to mask and silence the presence of herself and several allies. As well as further imbue her weapons.

Metal Manipulation- at a range of 3 meters Saffron can use the magic blessed to her bloodline by her father. She can use this metal however she likes, even able to push it to the point that she can launch shards out of the earth like bullets. This speed is reduced, the larger and object becomes.

Personality: She has a primarily all work no play kind of attitude but will move with her groups choice if she is working with one

Background: With a lineage of Vivican ties in her family. Saffron was born notably different, she never once preached unity or peace. She viewed all those ideals as misguided and pointless, impossible even.in her mind the one thing you could truly believe in is metal and intuition. You need to trust yourself. So once she turned of age. She simply left with with the rifle she had built by hand and the magics she had learned from her family. She now travels as a bounty hunter. Taking jobs when she can.

“The Courts wont define my path."

Name: Lady Lacuna the Exile
Age: 28
Gender: Female
Appearance:
5ab8b1033a33bb900ae86d43bf1e6301.jpg

Alignment (lawful evil, neutral evil, chaotic evil): CE
Weapons:
ghdgepk4mat31.png

Magic: Teleportation, Warp energy, Void energy, illusion magic, and lightning magic.
Personality: Manic, paranoid, chaotic, controlling, temperamental, sometimes easily amused, cunning, forgetful, lazy, and playful.
Background: Once a noble from a far off land, Lady Lacuna of L'mik was forced into slavery by a great evil. Her former subjects managed to help her escape, hoping that she could find freedom away from her fallen kingdom. As per her culture, she made a Rudaf Mask, a mask of shame, to be worn until she returned to her people and throne. She ran far, across vast lands and vaster oceans, till she found Regalia. There she found benevolent and kind people, nursing her back to health. As she regained her power, she began to help her new friends. She even managed to save Portus Cale from a wondering kaiju, leading to her to be installed at the port's lord. As word of her wisdom and prowess spread, she gained the attention of the Tenebris Court.
This bright new life was soon overshadowed by the specters of the past. Her former oppressors came to Regalia with intent on more conquest. The Tenebris Court brought her on board to help uncover the enemy's secrets, though it took time for her to get past the mental scars she still bore form them. With the discovery of Itika, Lacuna became a heavy user in order to gain the strength to get revenge on her old oppressors.
While the enemy was driven away, the Itika took it's toll. Lady Lacuna became increasingly erratic and paranoid. She seemed to actively avoid the other members of the Tenebris court. The slightest infraction from her subjects led to cruel punishments.
When Tenebris Court was banished to the Spirit Realm, Lady Lacuna seemed to completely fall apart. Jabbering madly, she seemed terrified of her predicament. After sometime of witnessing Lacuna lose grip on reality, the rest of the group soon found she had gone silent. Vanished without a trace, the exiled member of the Tenebris has not been heard from for nearly a thousand years...
