Name: Lucien Vance

Aptitude: Healer and Interceptor
Background: A member of the Gaea Foundation's Research Department and designated Dean of Gaea Academy. His research revolves around the various aptitudes of flux, their implementation, and how they affect the human body. He has spent the last 10 years with his team of select staff gathering data as dean of the academy. As an alumni of Gaea Academy, Lucien has a keen insight regarding the Flux Wars as he was a member of the winning team before he graduated. Aside from what is known publicly Lucian Vance's time between his graduation and his promotion to dean of Gaea Academy is a mystery that only a few of his staff members know about.
Psychological Profile: Despite his looks Lucian is a rather easy person to get along with. His job as dean does keep him busy with paperwork most of the time, but he is always willing to assist his staff or the students with any questions they may have. Rarely does he teach a lesson, but when he has free time he always tries to join in on a class. He has a tendency to get lost in his research and will at times seem like he's the only person in the room when this happens. Due to the scarcity of his appearance he's been given a reputation for being mysterious among the student body which he takes a modicum of pride in as well laugh about among his staff.

Name: Velt Naiphren

Age: 26

Aptitude: Interceptor/Weaver

Background: In school he was once known as the Counter King, capable of either redirecting or negating the flux abilities of other people through the unique combination of Interceptor and Weaver skills. Not many people understand how he does it, only that he doesn't use Weaver skills on the field and never uses offensive skills at all.

After school, he was less interested in the more average aspects of life and decided to become an explorer, traveling around the world and studying the various cultures and uses of Flux that differed from his own.

The only reason he came back to be a teacher was because he was asked by an old friend.

Psychological Profile: Velt has always been a carefree individual, letting life take him where he was meant to go. His school life both suffered and flourished because of this. He was rather popular in general but appeared lazy and unmotivated to his teachers. It was only his clever uses of his aptitudes that kept him out of trouble.

He is very fond of the outdoors as well as the creatures of the wild and everyone knows to look outside if they hope to find him.

Background: In school she was beloved by her teachers for her studious nature and a favorite studying companion among her peers. It was, in fact, one of her teachers that inspired her to begin teaching as well. Although she was never popular beyond scholarly endeavors, Tatiana did not mind, she enjoyed that her passion for learning allowed her a chance to lend a helping hand.
Despite her demure nature, and possibly because of it, Tatiana was highly effective in healing and supporting her team during Missions.
Psychological Profile: Tatiana is cool, calm, and collected, but never cold. Although not very outwardly expressive of her emotions, Tatiana is a caring individual who strives to assist others however she may. She is methodical, characterized by order, Tatiana believes deeply in a need for order and balance in all areas of life. Tatiana is fond of reading and enjoys studying various subjects.

Background: Jeremy is the youngest child of four, because of this his siblings have always set the standard for what he should do. It was and still is something he hates about his family since they all believe that if he doesn't follow in their footsteps he is(to put simply) a failure. Because of this his ambitions to focus on mastering flux instead of focusing on other things is looked down upon. But it hasn't deterred him too much.

Psychological Profile: He seems disinterested in most things, preferring to keep to himself. Overall he is very blunt and honest when he speaks, uncaring about who he may hurt when he says something.

Background: Rose grew up in an orphanage owned by a nun. It is unknown what has happened to her actual parents, may they be missing or dead. The nun who took care of her taught her many things such as how to handle her Flux and use it right. She also taught her to always refer to the Bible if something is wrong or when she is down. Rose grew to these practices, making her a friendly and kind person. However, deep down she has a very dark secret that she is fully aware of and doesn't want to show it to everyone...except with a few slip ups.

Psychological Profile: Rose is a friendly, well-mannered, and kind person. She takes joy in the simplest pleasures the world gives. "Life is awesome" is her main motto. One problem with her is that she has a very weak composure. Whenever she is down, confused, or stressed, she always turn to the Bible, which she always carries around. Some might say that she is a religious fanatic, but she will always deny that fact. If she loses the Bible, expect her to see her movement become violent and extreme, which comes to the next problem; insanity. Whatever happened in the past before she got adopted must have been very painful. If she realizes the damages she has done, she will never forgive herself and starts crying out.

Other notes: Rose at times prefers herself to be a "Jill-of-all-Trades". This is reflected with her aptitudes; she is a decently good Striker, but not the best (at least when it is not in regards in forming weapons which one could describe as "overly too much"). She is an effective Support, but not overall great (simple wounds, but not critical ones). However, what she is good at is filling the gaps whenever needed.

A child prodigy in physics and flux research, Dr.Oropo has roots in the Gaea Foundation and is an instructor at the Gaea Academy.

Spoiler: Circumstances of Birth

Fallinel Sadian Oropo, born in 2015, is known to his friends and colleagues as Fall Oropo. His father, Lawrence Oropo, is an England-born pediatrician who has undertaken research on flux within children and how it affects development. Fall’s mother, Glory, was born in South Korea and has a university degree in physics and mathematics. Lawrence and Glory met while they were studying at Seoul National University. Glory emigrated to England with Lawrence in 2011. Glory Mi-young Oropo taught physics, chemistry, science, and mathematics in various secondary schools in South Korea before she emigrated to England and, once in England, also taught in secondary schools there. Fall is their eldest child, having two younger sons, Percidal and Levin.

When Fall was 3 years old his parents realized that he was different from other children. They saw him teaching five-year-old children to spell and to add numbers and when they asked him how he had learned these skills, he replied that he had been watching funny shows on television. When he was three and a half years old his parents sent him to a private school but, six weeks later, they realized that he was not ready for schooling and also that the teachers did not know how to teach someone like him. So they removed him from the school and he did not start schooling again until he was, like other children, five years old.

An evaluator of gifted kids from the, at the time, recently created Gaea Foundation discovered that Fall not only showed mathematical prowess but flux potential as well. The evaluator wondered how much his parents were teaching him but found that their role was more one of guiding and stimulating Fallinel’s development than one of teaching him. Glory said that Fallinel liked to read physics by himself, and he often spent three or four hours after school reading physics textbooks.

By the time Fall reached the age of eleven, he was dividing his time between his studies at high school and taking classes at university thanks to scholarships from the Gaea Foundation. Even earlier, at the age of ten, he began participating in international mathematical olympiads. He won a bronze medal in 2025, a silver medal in 2026 and a gold medal in 2027, becoming the second youngest-ever gold medalist in the Mathematical Olympiad. At the age of fourteen, he began full-time university studies and was awarded a B.Sc. with Honours in December 2030. He continued to study for a Master's Degree and was awarded the degree in August 2031 having written the thesis Flux generated by right-monogenic and harmonic kernels.

A true team player, Fallinel’s work, which defines his role in combat, with the Gaea Foundation helped with the creation of long term treatment for the rare overproducing flux disease that generally affects Healers by siphoning excess flux.

Oropo undertook more research through Gaea. He was an assistant researcher at the Foundation during 2032-33 and he was awarded a fellowship in 2034. He was awarded his doctorate in June 2035 for his thesis another thesis at the time. In 2035 his research papers began to appear in print, four papers being published that year. These are Weak-type endpoint bounds for Flux means; (with a collaborator) On the structure of Flux group representations in quaternionic Hilbert space; On the almost everywhere convergence of Flux wavelet summation methods; and Flux on Lipschitz graphs with harmonic kernels.

Following 3 years of continued research, Oropo was appointed as an assistant professor at the opening of Gaea Academy in 2038, a position he held from 2038 to 2040. He continued as an assistant professor at the Academy where, at the age of twenty-four, he was promoted to full professor in 2041.

Name: Shion and Fionn Tsuinmūn

Background: The Tsuinmūn family has been on the cutting edge of flux research and science since before the term was properly coined. The heads of the family were always a pair of identical twins, warriors trained in the arts of energy manipulation who would protect their lands and secrets as though they were one. One of the twins, for they were always girls, would be chosen to bear the next heir, with any further children joining the lesser ranks of the family, serving as soldiers, spies, researchers, healers, and assassins. Shion and Fionn were to be next in line until one of them was tragically killed in an accident. No one was quite sure which sister survived, the survivor herself taking upon both names at once, as well as the training of both, marking her as a true savant in her field.

Psychological Profile: The Heir of the Tsuinmūn legacy was only 10 years old when her sister was taken from her. She knew that one of them being killed was a possibility, but it was always framed as in battle, or if they made a stupid mistake. When her sister died, the Heir claimed to have absorbed her essence, that she was now both Shion and Fionn. Whether or not this is an actual borderline personality disorder, the Heir does seem to fluctuate between the bold and brash Shion and the shy and polite Fionn, often having long conversations with herself, and reacting differently when the names are called. She tends to react aggressively at the implication that she is only one person, though she can eventually get over it. The two personalities seem to have completely different aptitudes but have an amazing synchronization of using both at the same time. They often both act immature, as they haven't had much social interaction since her twin died, and while very studious and intelligent, they are quite sheltered with very little real-world experiance.

Other notes: Whether or not the Heir’s claim of absorbing the sister’s essence into herself is a fact, or a result of the trama, is unknown.
Pictured in her Familly Armor, which has received several upgrades over the years. The arms mounted on the back belong to the matching set, and are operated by flux infusion. She very rarely uses them.

    Alanza (though everyone calls her 'Hild') is young and free-spirited. The infinitely carefree and stereotypical younger sibling has never really known what it is to be afraid or feel unsafe, thanks to two loving parents and an overprotective older brother. This has given her the freedom to do virtually whatever she wants with no consequences, resulting in a rather reckless personality.
    
    She tends to do things on a dare or on a whim with no regard for how things might end up, and is always up for an adventure. She gets bored easily, hates sitting still, and will come up with random quests or challenges just to break the monotony. Though her boundless energy and endless optimism are infectious, her disregard for rules or common sense can be tiresome to deal with.
    
    On the battlefield, Hild is a perfect example of power that comes in a small package. She packs a heckuva punch for such a tiny person, and usually acts as the wedge to drive straight into the other team (again, with no regard for precautions or safety).
    
    Her chosen aptitudes reflect this perfectly: as a striker, she essentially uses her power to blast through anything and anyone in her way, and she uses her interceptor abilities to create a flux shield around herself as she does so.
    
    Her skill as a tank is extremely useful in battles that call for it, but fairly problematic elsewhere, since she packs a lot of power but absolutely no nuance. Add that to her natural recklessness, and she's been known to ruin quite a few well-laid and well thought-out battle plans due to her unwillingness to wait around and inability to just keep still (much to the frustration of her teammates- and particularly her team captain, who happens to be her older brother). So it's really a mixed bag with her: strategy-ruining in some situations, and game-winning in others.

    Hild and Ari's lineage is intimidatingly prestigious. Their parents were actually the victors of the first ever Flux Wars- they're basically legends. Their father, Aloysius Alloway, is an enormously powerful interceptor. After graduating from Gaea Academy, he worked with the military, testing different uses for flux in real combat situations. He divided his time between being out in the field, training new recruits, and developing flux-related strategies and the use of flux-related technologies (many invented by his wife). He is now a high-ranking army general, very well-known and well-respected throughout the country.
    
    His wife, Hjordis Dagny Halvorson is, incredibly, somehow even more well-known and respected than he is. An exceedingly gifted weaver, there's no question that her brilliant strategies led their team to victory in the games. A certified genius, she has since worked in research and development for the school, the government, and various private companies, making huge advances in flux-related technology and, most notably, designing the Flux War games each year for the last ten years. Though the couple is undoubtedly impressive as a unit (and despite Hjordis' small stature), Ari and Hild's mother is without question the more intimidating of the two.
    
    With so much to live up to, the dynamic in the Alloway household has always been an interesting one. Though their father is the one in the military, their mother is actually the strict and demanding one, and both Hild and Ari exist wanting to live up to her expectations, while also in fear of displeasing her. If they do end up disappointing their mother, their father is always there with a kind word and a supportive, encouraging speech to get them motivated. He affects being the typical strict military father, but really he's a big softie who simply loves his children very much.
    
    As the eldest, Ari has always seen and felt most of the pressure being put on his shoulders. Their mother repeatedly told him that the world was watching, both expecting great things from him and waiting for him to slip up or fail. Between his mother's expectations and his own perspective, Ari puts enormous pressure on himself to live up to what he thinks is expected of him- he is very much like Hjordis in this respect. Comparatively, Hild has it much easier. Part of it is being the younger sibling and bearing less scrutiny and expectations overall. She also gets a lot of leeway from her father, whom she resembles more closely in personality and temperament. But mostly, it's just that Hild is more of a free spirit, and doesn't care about others' expectations or opinions as much as Ari and her mother do, and is more interested in simply doing and pursuing what she wants.

    Shio (though everyone calls him Mokuzu) is serious- too serious. Some even call him gloomy. It's not that he's a particularly unhappy person- he just happens not to express his feelings very strongly and tends to be quite unfazed by most everything, which many people find quite strange.
    
    Getting him to show emotion is something very few people have accomplished, and you can probably count on the fingers of one hand the number of people at the academy who've ever seen him do any of the following: smile, laugh, cry, become frustrated, get angry, get sad, be surprised...
    
    It's not exactly hard to figure out why people call him The Robot, but even that doesn't phase him. Truth be told, his expressionlessness can be downright unnerving.
    
    On the battlefield, Shio's primary function is as protection and support. He usually stays back from the action, making sure their team's leader and strategist stays safe behind a Flux barrier, and providing heals should he become injured.
    
    The other two players usually return to his position to get healed as well but, in rare circumstances when it becomes necessary, he erects a barrier around himself in order to venture out into the field and provide on-site assistance to their forwards, if they're unable to move or too far away to help from his usual position.
    
    Shio follows instructions perfectly, always, and has never failed to do his job well. It's a pity he doesn't try to branch out or do more with his abilities though.

    Shio's early childhood home was in the not-so-nice part of the city outskirts, in a fairly small and dingy house. His father worked at a nearby factory and his mother was a court-appointed lawyer. Shio has few memories of this time of his life. There are a couple good ones, such as the cake and present he received for his fourth birthday (chocolate, and a cool action figure), and a few fun outings in the park with his parents. But he also remembers late-night arguments and a generally unhappy vibe. Shio's parents decided to separate when he was five, and his mother took a job at a law firm in the city and moved out. He lived with his father during the week (because of school) and only got to see his mother on the weekends.
    
    Fast-forward a few years, and Shio's father is working the same job and has moved to a small apartment. His mother, meanwhile, has attained greater professional and financial success, has a nice apartment in the nice part of town, and has begun to date one of her coworkers. His father's apartment is a pretty gloomy place (and his father has a pretty gloomy disposition). His mother's place is much nicer, but she's quite busy with her job and her new life. Shio doesn't really get a lot of attention, and is a quiet and self-reliant child. He's adapted to the situation essentially by shutting off his emotions and being indifferent to it.
    
    A few years later, his mother has remarried and is expecting a second child. With all their energy and focus now on the pregnancy and upcoming birth, Shio's mother and stepfather pay even less attention to him than before. His father, meanwhile, is as gloomy as ever, and Shio doesn't really have much going on in terms of his home life. In school, he does well and gets good grades, though he doesn't really have friends, spend time with people, or participate in extracurriculars or clubs. Luckily, he's discovered his aptitude to manipulate flux, and so has applied and gotten accepted to attend Gaea Academy.

[Myxyzptlk]

Name: Gao Chen
Age: 17
Aptitude: Pure Weaver

Background: Gao Chen is an aspiring monk who seeks to atone himself. Being raised by monks in the mountains he sought to harness his ability to use flux and become a celebrity off the skills he learns. Gao Chen initially sought to study and learn with the monks and learn as much as he could in little time but he soon grew to be more trouble than his instructors tolerated. Chen was gifted, being able to use his flux to enhance his physicality and maneuverability, he could appear in one area with blindsiding fury and than disappear the next. However, He found himself trying to outperform and overachieve in every facet of his daily being, becoming something of an egotistic practitioner of the Monks sacred arts. This went against the Monks core beliefs of surpassing arrogance and ego in order to better oneself and he was promptly shut away from the Monks temple. With no other place to go and nowhere to convey his frustration he turned to exploration, using the minimal resources the Monks granted him before shutting him away he used it to support himself for some time but it was fleeting. Gao took up a job at a noodle shop which humiliated him. Chen was struggling to get by and at times he had to resort to begging in order to get everything he truly needed. It was at the noodle shop where he learned further about the outside world, he learned of Gaea Academy and the Flux Wars which were intended to promote the study of Flux. Chen saw it as a golden opportunity and booked a flight to the Gaea Academy, leaving his guilt and shame behind him in order to pursue his goal.

To further explain Gao Chen's aptitude in battle, he was identified as a Weaver in the entrance exam at Gaea Academy. With the monks he was equipped with a Guandao which he used to slash at his opponents fervently. Gao Chen used his flux in quick bursts to flank opponents and then disappear afterward, his sparring partners compared it to being jumped by a freakishly fast monkey which would vanish after the fact. His mobility with his flux allowed him to be very effective and he was highly touted for it. His sparring partners mystified Gao's talents and his teammates never could fully explain his abilities themselves. What occurs when Gao Chen is in battle is he uses his flux to enhance his mobility and speed, amplifying his physical prowess so that he can leap in and out of combat and disrupt the opposing teams positioning, making it easier for his ally damages to pick off the opponents after the fact. Gao Chen is highly effective in disrupting the oppositions plays and will push them into unfavorable environments through well placed flank attacks, normally prompting the opposition to break their formations to follow him in tight spaces where he thrives in picking them apart. Gao Chen is a threat to many but he is not very durable when it comes to prolonged attacks and battles of attrition, well placed traps and counters that predict where he will be next will ruin his day.

Psychological Profile: Gao Chen's aspirations to become a celebrity have made him into a self-assured and energetic youth. His personality is high intensity like his style of play on the battlefield and he never seems to cease his boasting. Gao Chen thinks of himself in a greater light than his Monk instructors had wished him too, his desire to become famous make him act a certain way which to some makes Gao absolutely despicable. However arrogant he may seem though, Gao Chen is a strong willed person and wants nothing less than to achieve his grand goal of becoming a worldwide phenomenon through the Flux Wars.

Background:
Born from the smallest village tribe of the Talim tribe. The Talim tribe is a desert tribe isolated from the world. Unlike most tribes, the Talim tribe has a life long hatred for flux. The concept of it disgusts the tribe's culture of living in normalcy. Unfortunately, one daughter of a single widowed mother began to develop her own flux abilities during her early birth. The tribe chieftain of course grew wary of the girl's developing abilities believing that the girl was some kind of dark creature in disguise. At her fourteenth birthday instead of celebrating her birthday her ceremony was not a special one as the so called "Birthday feast" was an execution in disguise. Their way of execution was a long and unfair suffering from bleeding and mummification. The child was helpless as her poor face was sealed with the tribe's signature execution mask. A Mask used to cover the victim's face during agony and torture. This was their way to warn the "Demons" inside the girl to never comeback. She wasn't the first to have developed a flux ability at birth as many before her were met with the same fate. She was the first for the last 100+ years to reappear again. The mask is nailed shut to her face, making it painful to remove that can sometimes lead to death if done so. During this brutal execution process the mother was lucky enough to take her daughter to safety.

She forced her only daughter to run away into the dessert until she was found by a kind archaeologist/doctor named Dr. Beckard. Gladly took her as his own child. He even tried to discipline her by attending the academy.

Psychological Profile:
Despite her grim and ghoulish exterior. She is still a developing child. As far as observed, she is quite unpredictable to understand but she can be safely labelled as docile. Despite her lack of understanding of social norms and technology. For an easy comparison, she acts like an early form of a developing human, a caveman to be specific. Curious of what is around her, always learning new things and most importantly adapting to her new world. It's no surprise that she also uses violence in most problems too although she can be quite submissive if spoken to nicely. Perhaps her parent was soft spoken hence only submitting to softer tones of voices. She's not that quite intelligent too. With her lack of understanding of what's normal to the world's standards, perhaps she did not receive a proper education as more often than not she understands simpler words and gestures. A foreigner that's for sure. She can hardly construct a sentence without being sponteanous. Most of the time she is just quiet as she listens more than talk.

Other notes:
A living glass cannon, as a striker/weaver. Her flux covers all directions of combat thanks to her ability to stretch out her 7 flux hands ability in all directions. These large spirit type hands (it is as big as an average adult) are used to crush, throw, punch and grab people or objects. Given, her violent nature and her ability she can smash her way to victory. Although, there is a one special step she had perform first before releasing these hands wild. She must stay in the spot she currently stands. This was the only way to do so. This will leave her open to attacks. Other than being unable to walk or run out in the open. One can inflict damage to the flux hand or it's ever streching vine-like arm, as these are still part of her.

Although there is less pain when aimed at the flux limbs and she will regenerate a newarm after 10 seconds of another arm destroyed. This a another weakpoint if the child cannot be reahed. It still recommended to confront Narcisa upclose if one really wants to stop her on her tracks.

She maybe a weaver too but she hardly practices the amptitude, it just so happens that she has the potential if she was a bit... Smarter.​

Name: Locke Sawyer

Age: 32

Aptitude: Striker

Background: Locke started life in a lower middle class family with an older sister who he'd always looked up to as he was growing up. Life was fairly typical and simple for them all, until Locke was accepted into the Gaea Academy, graduated, and recently accepted the position of teacher. While he was never one of the best Strikers in the Flux Wars, he always had a respectable number of wins under his belt.

After graduation he began roaming the world, getting to know the people around him and helping out where he could, all while honing his talents. With his hiring, he has endeavored to make sure the students know what they're in for during missions.

Personality: Locke is a rather relaxed and mellow dude who never seems to let anything bring him down, preferring instead to roll with the punches and go with the flow. He can be found relaxing when not in teaching or in a meeting. Generally speaking he's affable to just about anyone and stays down to earth, never assuming he's better than anyone else.

Appearance

Other notes: Locke has seen a lot of the world and as such, tends to use stories he's picked up from his travels to help get a point across. Otherwise, he always tries to find common ground with anyone he comes across and has made a habit of practicing card tricks and sleight of hand to entertain others.

Name: Arild Sigurd Alloway
Age: 16
Aptitude: Weaver
Background: Arild grew up with high expectations placed upon him, both because of his lineage and his naturally studios nature. He took on many leadership roles throughout his education, working hard to learn as much as he could about his own abilities in the meantime. Arild takes after his mother as far as skills are concerned, and this became an added pressure for Arild to become just as accomplished as his mother had been.

Because of the game behind his family name, Arild poured all his attention towards building his reputation to stand out on his own merits, never fully stopping to enjoy the moment. Still, all that he has worked towards building is shaken by the presence of his sister, Hild. Arild has found himself unable to resist meddling in her affairs with the intent to keep her safe, fearing both for her well being as well as his own whenever she is not kept on a short leash.
Psychological Profile: First and foremost, Arild is a people pleaser. Sometimes, this is to the point that his own goals are lost among the demands of the authority figures in his life. He is highly conscientious of others, but at the same time he genuinely enjoys helping people out. Arild works hard to be an accomplished student and a reliable team leader. Any insecurity he feels is bottled up deep inside, as Arild much prefers to focus on the opinions others have of him and meeting expectations. His neurotic side is most prevalent when dealing with his sister, unable to help fussing over her behavior as he tries his best to keep her in line. Arild is very uncomfortable with anything that diverts his plans, and does his best not to show uncertainty when he can avoid it, but dealing with his sister is particularly revealing to some of his inner emotions. Overall he means well, but could benefit from lightening up a bit.

Name: Vijay Kulkarni
Age: 38
Aptitude: Weaver
Background: Little is known of his origins, but Vijay was a teacher at the academy for many years, known for his kind nature and gentle guidance when teaching his students. A few years ago, he left on a sabbatical to his home country India, returning for this school year a changed man. He has become much more distant from other people and has begun business ventures outside of the school, though his aptitude as a weaver is no less remarkable than it was before. Despite his shift in attitude, Vijay is equally dedicated towards supporting his students and helping them achieve their goals.
Psychological Profile: Although previously known to have an inviting personality, Vijay as of recent acts very stern and task focused. It seems he takes less personal interest in others, but he still works hard to guide students. He is pragmatic and has taken on the realistic view that not all his students will win the Flux Wars, particularly since only one team will win. Vijay makes a point to prepare students for the future by challenging their weak points. While he is seemingly removed, he pulls a lot of strings to try to bring out the best in others, even if he does not come off well or is disliked by others. On some very rare occasions, some of his former warmth comes out, but he tries not to appear overly invested.

Other notes: Vijay rarely makes time that is not required of him as part of his job. Or at least, that seems to be the case. What exactly he spends so much time working on is not known to anyone, as he keeps it a closely guarded secret.
