Azalea Eve Windfore

the-4-fall-haircuts-every-nyc-girl-will-have-1940101-1476488179.640x0c.jpg

Azalea grinned a little at Raymond, "I like games," she murmured, an inquisitive look flashing across her face as she watched him struggle against eh forces of nature, keeping them on course nonetheless. Suddenly she giggled, still watching him intently, "if that's all you need to have fun," she slurred, "then your pretty easy to please," her lips curled into a drunken, teasing grin, "or your just daft, yeah?" she bursted into another fit of giggles at her private, perhaps insulting joke that her drunken mind found quite funny.

Aria stared at Azalea as if she was from another planet, shooting a bemused look to Angie at her teasing comment of getting them together. "I'll help," Aria joked, "I'm not even sure if that's my cousin," Aria said, glancing at a giggling Azalea before looking back at Angie with a smirk, "the only time I've ever seen her be nice to any man is when she leads them into soon-to-be-locked closets," she recalled bemusedly, her thick northern accent holding an obvious amount of surprise to it as she glanced at Raymond, silent wonderment on her face. Abruptly, the sound of shrieking singing erupted from behind her, jolting her from her thoughts. Aria turned around, cringing in silent amusement as she watched Baxter cover his ears.

"JEOOOOOOOOOOOD," Azalea groaned loudly in exasperation, failing to hide her drunken amusement as a big, silly grin split her features as she struggled to yank off her boot, "YOUR GIVING ME AN EARLY HANGOVER!" she screeched in a exasperated shout before throwing her boot across the deck, sending her boot sailing over Jeod's head.

Aria opened her mouth as she watched the boot hit the mast with a solid, hollow thunk, turning her body to chastise Azalea before Baxter's booming voice made her jolt, straightening as she turned her body to face Baxter, raising her brows at the drunken sight of him. It was sorta amusing to be honest. She followed behind Angie, glancing between the two as Angie confronted him on his intake of liquor. She watched the two interact before her eyes widened as Baxter quietly inform Angie his knowledge of her secret. Aria glanced at Angie, alarmed, "he knows?" she asked the woman, obviously alarmed by this.

Azalea brought her hand to her lips, "oops," she said, giggling, "I missed," she said glancing at Raymond in time to catch him yawn at the wheel, her expression dropping to weariness. "Noooo," she whined as he approached her, "don't yawn! You'll make me bloody--" Azalea was cut off by a large yawn of her own, rubbing her eyes sleepily. Her eyes widened a fraction as she felt exhaustion weighing on her bones, abruptly smacking herself in the scarred cheek to wake herself. Azalea glanced at Raymond, rubbing her stinging cheek as he murmured that he was tired, her eyes widening in horror as she watched him close his eyes and began to droop his body away from her own. "Ooooooh no your not!" she scolded as she wrapped both arms around his upper arm and tugged him upright so his body was closer to hers, "If you sleep then I'LL sleep," she informed him in a slurred, matter-of-fact voice. "I told you, your stuck with me," she said with a syrupy grin as she stared at him with mild amusement for a more than necessary amount of time.

The sound of angry shouting startled the young, drunken woman, letting go of Raymond's arm as her features dropped to surprise, Azalea looked across the ship where she witnessed an enraged Cali shouting into Annabel's face, the words 'we could all die' seeming to echo in the air. Azalea was silent for a moment, somehow managing to look inebriated and contemplative at the same time. "I think she might be the one to kill me," she said aloud, sounding unnaturally curious and calm as she stared at the angry women before looking down at her lap, fiddling with her thumbs, "but he also says it could be anyone of you," she rambled on bluntly, her voice low before shrugging her shoulders, "so who knows what to make of that pish."

Ivanna looked at the boy with her arms crossed, she was never one to do any babysitting or looking after someone else’s child. Normally she would have said no and sent the boy on their way. However, the look on his face reminded her of when she was young, the look of pure boredom. The noble activities of piano lessons and waltz practices bored her to tears. It was always when her family would allow her to go outside, and go on her little nature adventures, where she was the most happy. So she could sympathize with Clyde in a way, plus it’s going to be a long few months.

“Only if you agree not to touch anything then sure” speaking in her typical “I don’t care” tone. Walking over to the only chair in the room then grabbing it and placing it in front of the circular table. Kicking her feet up and leaning back on the chair a little. Glancing back over to Clyde “Do you have anything particular you wanna do?” Not really knowing what kids nowadays do for fun.

Raymond Callahan

tumblr_o7dxf721zS1s623yqo1_500.png
Raymond's body continued to sleepily lean away from Azalea until her arms wrapped around one of his and tugged him back to her. In response, his eyes opened up slowly finding their way back to her's as she scolded him about the sleepy domino effect. Blah, blah, blah. He knew the alcohol would soon make her sleepy with or without his influence anyway. It only took a few moments for her syrupy grin in his peripheral vision to steal his attention, prompting him to glance down at her lips before smiling a bit. When his eyes returned to her yellow-green ones, he found her staring at him for quite a while. Ray made sure of it too. His gaze glanced around the deck then back to Azalea, realizing that she really was still staring at him. A slight laugh escaped Ray as he glanced away and rubbed the back of his neck with his free hand."Stuck with you," He joked with a slight smile, " . . darn."

Cale's screaming soon caught Raymond's attention though, drawing his gaze across the deck. It was the first time he'd seen Cale and Annabel arguing. Ray diverted his attention back to Azalea when she guessed that Cale would be the one to kill her. At this, curiosity sped through his mind. Yeah Cale was angry at her, but Ray didn't think his buddy would kill her. Also, was Cale so into disguising himself as a woman that everyone was just going to give him feminine pronouns now? Raymond's hazel eyes traveled down to Azalea's hands fiddling with her thumbs. He had to snap himself out of is own questions especially after she mumbled something about someone saying that any one of them could kill her.

"Don't worry about that," Raymond abruptly placed his hand over both of Azalea's. Why was she saying stuff like this? He didn't know who was getting all these thoughts in her, but he knew that he was there to change them. "Give them time," He moved his gaze from their hands to her face, "Their heads will cool down." It was his plan to try taking Cale's mind off of it all. Probably even help him create more blueprints for a new project. Many days have passed since the last time Cale was able to do something he both liked and was good at. Maybe that was part of why the engineer was a bit more aggressive?

Anyway, Raymond didn't want to dwell on the negativity. "Oi," He casually brought his hand back onto his own lap. "You have me," Raymond smiled a bit, "Remember that."

Clyde Callahan

Clyde raised a brow when Ivanna looked at him with her arms crossed. At that moment, they both seemed to be weighing the pros and cons of the situation. He realized though that he was too late in doing so since he already asked to stay in the room with her. Regardless, it was the better decision since Clyde would have just been imprisoned alone in a room if he hadn't snuck out.

The scene's tone eventually let off though once Ivanna officially allowed the boy to stay for the time being. "Yes!" He cheered with a raised fist. His gaze then followed her movement as she sat on a chair then leaned in her usual way. Honestly, he was pretty surprised. Clyde scratched his head at Ivanna's question though. What exactly did he want to do there?

"I have a lot of things I want to do," He started walking toward Ivanna before pausing himself, "But hm." Unfortunately, those things mainly required exiting the room. For once, he seemed to be at a loss for words. "Well," Clyde turned around before walking back over to the bed and pulling himself back up to its foot. The kid sat deep in thought for a few more moments until he realized it was like one of those rainy days when he was rarely able to go outside, "Got any stories?"

Ivanna leaned back in the chair a bit more and scratching her head before speaking up “Stories huh..Well let’s see..” The stories from her past, ones that weren’t mentioning, ones that she never again wanted to remember, and ones that involved a lot of bloodshed and grief. So what should she say to a kid? Surely there’s gotta be something that was appropriate enough and didn’t sound boring at the glooming details. That would require looking at the positive experiences somewhere in the back of her mind. Maybe, just maybe, she could take some stories and sugar-coated, leaving out all of the grim parts in it. Ivanna wasn’t much of a storyteller, but she’ll give it a shot.

Leaning a little forward on the chair to keep her from falling “Alright..” swinging her feet off the table, thinking for a moment to gather her thoughts up “I was on one of my regular travels, it was the autumn season, the tree leaves turning a shade of red then falling off the stem back down onto the ground, the air was quiet. Only the sounds of nature were heard, when suddenly!—“ speaking in a tone that gives a story suspense “a runaway wagon came barreling down the path, I was on the side of the road when the cart swooshed on by. A man half exhausted from running stopped in his tracks, catching his breath, he turns to me “My daughter is on that wagon!” Now the dilemma was the wagon was heading straight for a mountain cliff, so it was a few minutes before the wagon would speed off the ledge. With no time to spare, I dashed after the wagon, there was a merchant that had his horse with him. Knowing I couldn’t run enough to catch the wagon, I had to quote quote borrow the horse—-um anyway. I was riding the horse towards the speeding wagon, the cliff however, the view of it was getting closer and closer. Then in a split second, I leaped off the horse and grabbed the end of the wagon, slamming my boots in the dirt resulting in sliding across the dirt trail in a fast pace. The speed of the wagon started to turn slow, until It halted right on the ledge of the cliff. The girl or the daughter of the man peeked out from the front, too scared to move. I managed to encourage her to climb out of the wagon, which she did and safely got to a safe point for me to let go of the heavy wagon. Therefore, the daughter was saved.” Ivanna couldn’t tell whether that story was good enough, she had better ones for sure, but it would require a whole lot of sugarcoating.

But regardless, she started telling more exciting stories she had. Like the time she was thrown into an alligator pit, having to leave out the part where she revenge killed the people who thrown her in the first place. The time where she was on a snowy mountain, trying to catch a gang leader who had a bounty on his head. Which lead to an avalanche, and promising herself never to go up a snowy mountain every again, unless absolutely necessary. Currently Ivanna was telling Clyde of a story where she had to go on a rescue mission of a nobleman’s kidnapped son. “It was late at night so most of the guards were either half asleep or just plain sleeping on the job” She laughed a little before shaking her head.

“The kid was in plain sight, which was kinda stupid if you ask me, but the guard count was high so it had to require stealth. Anyway, I managed to get on the ship and just before cutting the boy loose, it was an ambush!” The mood in her voice sounded frustrated “There was a fight, that resulted in the ship catching on fire, I quickly got the boy off the ship and on the docks.” While she was telling the story, Ivanna found some wood and started working on chipping the pieces away. Making some type of art piece, one glance out the window revealed the stars lit in the sky. Stopping what she was doing for a moment before turning to Clyde “Alright kid, it’s been fun but you probably need to get some rest—.” A light snore came from the young boy as he appeared to be already fast asleep, making Ivanna smile at the sight “Guess I’ll sleep on the floor tonight.”

Angie stared at Baxter, wide eyed and mouth agape as she watched him stumble around. Ohhhhkay. Wow. This is- this is highly unexpected. She had absolutely no concept of how drunk one man could get. Yet... somehow she couldn’t really blame him. Leading a rebellion like this was stressful. Was it a good idea to get absolutely piss-faced like this? No. But how could she blame him?

She blinked when Bax started to talk about her secret and tensed up, but decided to play it cool, looking over at Aria with a raised eyebrow before clasping her hands together and staring, “Alright! Time for bed.”

She promptly grabbed Baxter by the shoulders and started to guide his drunken stumbling towards the hatch that goes below decks, “You are clearly drunk out of your mind, so I think it’s best that you just go to sleep and deal with the consequences in the morning.”
She threw the hatch open and basically tossed Baxter inside before turning to the rest of the group, “And I think everyone ELSE should get some sleep as well! ... Aria, help me with this drunk idiot, please?”

Azalea Eve Windfore and Nox

“Block, block, kick—higher!” James barked at Azalea, squinting his eyes in disappointment, or perhaps from the ray of sun that relentlessly shone down on the ship. His fists were held up in front of his face, his legs part in a combat-ready stance as he blocked Azalea’s kick with his forearm, both squaring off against each other with only their fists as weapons—her stance matching her trainers. The two fought on the upper deck, near the helms wheel, sweat beading on their foreheads.

Azalea leaned back, out of James’s swinging fists range before her foot swung up and connected with his stomach, giving him a cocky grin as he grunted and stumbled back, “Is that high enough for you?” She mocked smugly, her stance radiating confidence, her breaths heavy with exertion.

James looked at her, his expression turning to that of horror, “watch out! Soris!”

Azalea froze, paling slightly as she briefly fell for the trap, but it was enough, James spun his body, kicking his leg out as he did so and catching Azalea in the knees, sending her down with a thump as she landed square on her back, her head thwacking against the wooden deck.

She let out a flurry of curses, scowling as she rubbed the back of her head, peering up at James, “that was dirty,” she said bitterly.

“Oh?” James said, “I was unaware your enemies played nice.” He admonished her sarcastically, “you must learn to be aware of your own weaknesses—“

“No, I mean your bald head,”
Azalea interrupted, looking suddenly quite smug, “the suns reflection off it was absolutely blinding.” She lamented dryly.

The insult briefly took James back, but it was enough for her. She kicked her leg out, swinging it full-force into James knee, sending him plummeting to the ground. Azalea snickered, pulling her gaze to the light blue sky that stretched out before her, not a cloud in sight. The sight brought her back to three months ago, when she’d been staring at the same sky, though it had been dark, and specked with stars, and she was by Raymond rather than James. Though she wasn’t someber, and unlike now, she’d actually remember the conversation.

James sat up, glancing down at her with appraisal on his features, “good,” he said coolly, “you can fight dirty too. That’s a small start.” He said as he got to his feet and strode off for the center of the ship, descending the two steps that led to the central area, the retired assassin leaving Azalea scowling after him as she pushed herself to an upright position.

For the past three months it was the same routine; get up, train with James, help with the ship, eat, drink, sleep. And of course, watching the prisoner was another activity she’d come to dread. Azalea wiped the sweat from her brow with her forearm. She was exhausted—and overheated. Her growing hair didn’t really help, and she’d considered getting it cut again after it had grown just a few inches past her shoulder, no longer giving her much relief from the heat, though she decided to keep it. It reminded her less that it had been cut at all, just another piece taken by Soris. It was...better to forget.

Forget. She snorted. She wished she could forget the heat. For three months she’d been staring at nothing but sea and sky, and was getting immensely bored of it. Azalea unbuttoned the first two top buttons of her white, long sleeved tunic, falling back defeatedly unto the deck, her hair splayed out around her as she gave a dramatic groan.

“One cloud,” Azalea complained loudly to nobody in particular, “can we not just have ONE cloud to give us SOME relief from this blasted heat?!”

Audrey took a deep breath as she tried to calm her shaking nerves as she ascended the steps to the Calore Palace, the hard, metallic clanking footsteps of the guards “escorting” her doing less to settle her nerves. Why she was brought here, she did not know. She found herself guided through multiple corridors and grand hallways, pale, terrified looking servants scurried past her, keeping their heads down. What was wrong with this place? The atmosphere here was so...dark, for a palace.

Eventually she was led to two white grandiose doors, which the guards moved around and together pushed open, revealing the throne room, and the man on it. Audrey swallowed as she was escorted forward, each step begged her to turn and run away, but she could not. As they neared the throne, the royal guards beside her dropped to a kneel, and she quickly followed, Keeping her gaze to the red carpet at her feet. Seconds ticked by slowly as she waited, until finally he spoke.

“Rise,” a deep chocolate voice commanded smoothly. Audrey rose slowly, dragging her gaze up from his sleek black shoes, to his black waistcoat and black attire, to his pale complexion and his dead black eyes. She felt her heart plummet in her chest. Something was...very wrong with this man. Beside the throne, stood a short, shrewd looking man, eyeing her coolly. His advisor, she thought, most likely.

“Miss Audrey,” the King purred, his eyes crinkling in amusement, “I should hope the journey from Ezeris to Calore was not to...trying.” Audrey, not knowing how to reply to this, simply dipped her head. Was she allowed to speak? Would he be angry if she did? There was so much she did not know about this dark King.

“Do you know why your here, my lady?” He asked calmly, a roguish strand of black hair hung in front of his eye, escaped from the sleek ponytail his jet black hair was pulled tightly back into, making his face look taunt.

“No, Your Majesty,” She breathed quietly, ignoring the sour taste the title brought to her lips. He was no king of hers, despite him bringing funds to Ezeris, she knew he was wrong. Knew it the moment she was Baxter’s face on that poster.

As if reading her thoughts, the King smiled, “I was hopeful Ezeris had been improving,” he said softly, “and yet...just one month after my donation to the east, a ship has already been stolen...The Serpente II has not been seen in three months, I trust you know of this?”

His black gaze bore into hers, his voice a deadly quiet. Audrey paled. It was stolen the same day she’d seen Raymond...it couldn’t have been a coincidence. Audrey nodded slightly, feeling her mouth dry up, rendering her speechless. He gave her a thin, dimpled smile as he stood.

“And my commander disappears the same month, after being sent to kill that rebellion leader,” he said quietly as he descended the step to the throne, his steps silent and graceful as his sleek, black cape draped on the ground behind him, “quite the coincidence, wouldn’t you say?” He said with quiet coldness as he stopped in front of her, forcing her to look up to meet his gaze, so close she could hardly breathe, when she met his gaze, only pure hatred glimmered in the sea of black.

“I’m...not sure what you mean—“ she began, her heart hammering against her chest before he pressed a long, black gloved finger against her lips, silencing her.

“You were quite close with the rebellion leader, were you not?” He asked quietly, “you didn’t happen to see anything the day the ship disappeared, did you?” Audrey felt the blood drain her face entire, breaking under his gaze, she instead decided to look at his throat, watching muscle clench next to his cravat. She opened her mouth to decline she’d seen anyone, when he pressed his finger harder against her lips and leaned in.

“I should hope, my lady, you wouldn’t lie...traitors aren’t tolerated under this rule,... we wouldn’t want any harm to come to your son, would we?” He said, his voice suddenly cold and icy, and it took all her strength to keep her from turning and fleeing the room, or slapping him. What kind of man could threaten an innocent child?! Surely he wouldn’t harm a kid? If she told him she’d seen Raymond....that would mean they took the ship. It would mean Baxter and maybe even Clyde was on that ship.

“No,” she whispered, “I didn’t see anything,” her heart threatened to leap from her throat out of fear as he narrowed his eyes at her, tension so thick in the air, one could cut it with a knife. The silence ticked on for a few more long seconds before he leaned back and gave her a thin smile, seemingly satisfied. She let out a breath she hadn’t realized that she’d been holding.

“What a shame,” he murmured, watching her intently with his black, dead stare. Then, he reached out with his hands and took her hand into both of his, the soft feel of silk on her skin suddenly unwelcome as he raised her hand to his lips, swallowing at the cold touch of his lips on her skin before releasing her hand. “It’s been a pleasure, my lady. I look forward to seeing you again,” he purred, giving a dip of his head to the two guards behind her, dismissing her. Audrey could only simply nod, at a loss for words before she turned and began her slow, from the throne. His words were a promise, and a threat. And she hoped it would never come true. She hoped she’d never have to set foot in this haunted palace again.

“I suppose we must wait for Miss Azalea to act then,” the King sighed absently behind her, and Audrey froze in her tracks, daring a glance back, where the King had taken his throne once more. He was looking not at her, but at the advisor, his advisor nodding.

“As long as the terms of the deal are stuck.” His advisor replied stiffly, seemingly less confident then Soris, whom only smiled and replied softly,

“She will.” He murmured.

Azalea? The Calore Princess? She was with the rebellion, the posters had her face...she was with Baxter and...oh no. Quickly, Audrey walked out of the throne room, not wanting to hear anymore. She had to get to Delchistrier. Immediately. Before it was too late.

Soris and his advisor watched the woman go, savoring the sound of the doors closing behind her, out of sight completely. He smiled a thin, cold smile, the dark, iron throne atop his head making him look all the more cold.

“And now we wait.”

Baxter Callahan and Raymond Callahan

200.gif
Baxter kept the wheel steady for about four hours, waiting for Raymond to take over his shift. By now the brothers were able to train most if not all the guards how to sail the thing. However, very few of them knew how to sail at night. With that being said, Raymond groggily stepped up onto the deck and moved his free hand through his wild bedhead. His other hand held a hammer. As soon as the younger Callahan approached the wheel, both brothers looked at each other's bearded faces and nodded before switching spots.

Usually Bax would have scolded Ray about his unkempt hairstyle already, but three months at sea left them with no choice. The most they could do was try cutting their beards. They couldn't even get a clean shave though since the ship swayed and made it all too risky.

46bc72d0468d053a8772097c846800e5.jpg
Baxter walked across the deck, passing Azalea in time to hear her words. "Perhaps you'd like to take a swim," He noted with ever so dry humor as he walked below deck to switch into the Nox shift. Not once did his eyes even shift away from his intended direction. Meanwhile, Raymond just silently made a face at Azalea that somehow jokingly implied for her to consider it. His body then tilted off to the side a bit before hammering away five times at a peg on the floor. The guy was in the process of making a small shade for whoever was steering the boat. He made sure that it didn't affect sailing or cover much sight in case of emergency though.

Tap. Tap. Tap. Baxter shifted his gaze upward at the sound of Raymond hammering a peg from above. First things first. The rebel leader passed Nox's area and headed directly into a room before coming back out with weights in his hands. What? That time slot was a great opportunity to hit two birds with one stone. Bax didn't just want to sit and stare at Nox the whole time anyway. As soon as the guard left, Baxter positioned himself off to the side of the room and started lifting his weights.

This was his way of keeping watch over Nox. Well, actually his blue eyes were focused on the wooden planks by her. Either way he didn't bother saying a word. Clunk. He set the weights down and glanced over at Nox for the first time in about twenty minutes, "Did Soris ever tell you about Delchistrier?"

Three months, Three months of being on this god forsaken ship. However it didn’t hinder her ability to train. Ivanna always one of the first people to wake up the earliest, rarely getting any sleep especially with the creature in chains. She had to be ready, ready for anything, thankfully everything has been going smoothly. Well..almost smoothly at times. But three months wasn’t going to be in vain, no... she was going to use this time for her advantage. Despite the fact there was a lack of space for her more advanced training. She learned to adapt to the small space, mainly her room.

Her day would mostly consist of this:
  • Get up at a Early Hour
  • Meditation for a good 10-20 minutes
  • A warm-up session which included stretching out her body. Starting with the arms and legs.
  • Then part 2 of that warm-up session would include push-ups and sit-ups. 30 minutes for push-ups and sit-ups respectively. Sometimes the sit-ups would be done on the wooden pole, wrapping her legs around and touching her forehead at the surface each time.
  • After the warm-up session came the hand-to-hand combat. Her style was mixed with Kyokushin, Shaolin Kung fu (tiger style), Muay Thai, Boxing, and Silat martial arts. Working to improve on her punching and kicking techniques in terms of strength and speed.
  • Next would be a warm-up prior to her weapon training, which included weight lifting. The gear on the ship had the common weights but Ivanna went a bit further. Using the barrels that was stored away filled with items or substance that made it heavy enough to fit her needs. Sometimes having to go up on deck to fully lift the barrels without hitting the ceiling every 5 seconds.
  • The last part of her training was solely for weapons. The equipment she had was her large sword and long dagger. Indoors she would practice with her long dagger, taking some of the empty bottles on the ship to throw and slash with accuracy and precision. One thing she didn’t like was having only one weapon for stealth. Probably need to get some throwing knives or a crossbow, maybe a crossbow.

Once she was done with the indoor weapons training, the outdoor one would soon follow. Ivanna’s sword was practically too big for her to swing around in such a closed space. Wiping the sweat off her forehead, brushing the long flat hair that lost most of its curls back with her fingers. The heat in the ship was stupidly hot and outside would be no better. First equipping the sheath to her back, then grabbing her large sword off the wall. She casually opens her room door with her sword on her back, walking down the lower deck skinny halls. Passing by Baxter and Nox without looking at either one of them and climbing up the stairs to the upper deck.

The sun rays started kissing at her skin as the sunlight shines on her face. The temperature burning hot making her silently wish she was back up North. Ivanna spotted Azalea and Raymond near the steering wheel of the ship. Azalea looking like she’s about to pass out. Ivanna silently chuckled in her head, hot head would not be able to handle her training routine, or come close. Going to the other end of the upper deck where no one would be near, unsheathing her sword from the back and starting to swing forward in a constant motion. The flow of her shoulders with the rest of the arm, focusing on her stance more and elbow strength.

Man, was she bad at emotions.

She already knew that, but it sure did not change the fact that she was doing horribly with Cali. She had thought she got her point across with Cali ages ago, but apparently not. She was still unbearably upset. That was probably Angie’s fault. Had to be. What else could it be?

In fact, she had been spending less and less time with Cali, more with Aria and, surprisingly, Annabel? She had been having a bad time with Cali as well it seemed. When she’s showed up at her room months ago, she had all but started bawling over Cali’s behavior. Angie had to tell her to just ignore Cali. Let her be angry.

This morning, Angie found herself sitting on the deck of the ship, eating more travel food for the 100th time on this damned ocean trip. Thank the gods that she didn’t get motion sick.

Annabel was going to say something to Cali about what she said, but decided not to do that. Because the others are so going to be a bit too nosy after hearing her shouting in her face like that. ‘Damn it. I wanted to say something to her. But I can’t do it now, since the others are definitely noticing this. I need to figure out a way to stop Cali from pushing everybody away, since she is clearly trying to do to that towards anybody who wants to help her.’ thought Annabel.
Annabel was thinking of talking to Priscilla or Angelo about what Cali had said to her. But for now, she needed to withdraw from this argument. She turned away from Cali, and walked towards her room while crying.
Once there, Annabel was talking to herself in her head, because she wanted to be alone after that drama with Cali. ‘...So you don’t consider me a friend, Cali? Then you are just like those bullies. I didn’t have a friend before I met my gang members, because of how badly those bullies had treated me. I mean they even ruin my house, but a hidden princess like her wouldn’t know that. Not to mention that book is still bothering me.’ thought Annabel.
Annabel didn’t want to admit it, but if that royal bloodline book is true then she was thrown away by her family just like Cali was. However, she didn’t want to say anything about that book to anybody. For nobody besides Baxter would take that surprise well once that secret is out.
Angelo then ended up showing up to her room, and told her to ignore Cali. “Ok.” said Annabel, who lied to Angelo. She didn’t want to leave her friend alone, because Cali has no idea that she is the only friend that Annabel was able to get on her own.

Timeskip:
Three months has passed, and Annabel was still upset about what Cali had said to her. Because she couldn’t believe that the princess doesn’t want to be her friend. ‘...Ok. I did took it a bit too far with that argument, but I only wanted to help Cali. I am also not going to ignore Cali like Angelo have said, since she is definitely trying to push us away.’ thought Annabel.
Although, she knew what Cali was trying to do. Annabel didn’t want to annoy her, so she ended up eating the travel food on the deck of the ship. As she did that, Annabel turned her head to see that Angelo was there. “Good morning, Angelo.” said Annabel, as she then took a bite out of her food.

“Ah, Annabel, I was wondering when you would come up from below decks.” She said through a mouthful of food, swallowing loudly before casually patting the spot beside her, indicating for the blonde to sit down. She wiped her mouth and licked the corners of her lips before wiping with her sleeve in a very unladylike manner.

“Hope you had a decent night’s sleep last night. I did, for some reason.” She raises an eyebrow, thinking about the dream she’s had last night. It was certainly strange. Chasing octopi through the sea while also being half shark is kindness of strange. Wonder what it could all mean.

“... Anyway, Annabel, I was intending to ask you something, if you don’t mind. I was just wondering, since you were a maid at the royal castle, I was just wondering if you ever saw any of the... nobles. You know, the Bianchi’s, Romagna’s... the Gallus’?” She put a little extra emphasis on that last one, more emphasis than she meant to.

Jeod Swift
Rough couple nights...though it was still a good time. The fact that battle would soon be upon them started to dawn upon him, though he shoved it to the back of his mind. He had a suspicion he would have to kill very soon, and he was not looking forward to it. He had always gotten through life without killing, and a small part of him believed that he could go through the entire world without actually needing to kill. Perhaps sit behind as the fighters did the work...or use his brain to get out of things before it got too dangerous. But the more he thought about it, the more he knew that he would have to fight...

He paced about for a while, before deciding to ask someone about it. It wouldn't be manly, and by God it would be weird, but he figured it was better discussed now then in the middle of a battle when lives were in jeopardy. He walked around the ship looking for Baxter, eventually finding out he was lifting. Of course.

He strolled into the room where they kept the one called Nox, someone he decided very quickly he did not want to know about. He found out a bit through snooping, and after seeing some of her more pointy parts, he decided that he could live without talking to her. So as he slid in the door after two knocks, he made sure to keep his glance focused on Baxter, and not at all on Nox.

"Ey...I got a question for you if you don't mind? Not too serious but I would like to get it settled now...if that's all right with you?" He glanced at the weights. Way too heavy for him, unless he was trying to max. Muscle hadn't been what kept him alive though, it was his mind, and while he felt a bit insecure, he wasn't too bothered with it. He kep this gaze fixed on either the iron, or Baxter-only checking in Nox's direction every now and then to make sure he was safe.

Annabel tilted her head a bit when Angelo said that he was expecting her to show up. But she ended up sitting next to him once she saw that he wanted her to do that. "I had a pleasant dream, Angelo, and I am glad that you did too." said Annabel, as she took another bite out of her food.
'Hmm. I should probably talk to Angelo about Cali right now, because she is becoming a problem.' thought Annabel, who was concern about her. For she doesn't want her to push people away, because she knows that there will be a day where nobody will be there to save or support her. Heck, nobody would want to teach Cali of how to fight, since of how badly she treated them in her time of need.
While she was thinking about that, Annabel snapped back into reality to hear what Angelo had said. "Oh. I don't mind if you ask me about something, Angelo, and about your question. Yes. I saw those nobles before, but I wasn't allowed to talk to them during the party. For I would be in big trouble if I were to do that, since I am only allowed to serve them." said Annabel. "Now that the question is out of the way. I want to talk to you about Cali, since I am starting to become worried about her. She didn't want me to help her when she was angry at Azalea. Cali even said that you are an arrogant, invention throwing, making all of her decisions, asshole, and doesn't even consider me to be her friend. She said other things too, and I am worried that she is pushing everybody away at this point."
Annabel only wanted to help Cali with her problems, so she wouldn't have to deal with them by herself.

Azalea Eve Windfore and Nox
giphy.gif
Azalea snorted at Baxter’s joke with a smirk, slightly suprised by it, “Oh ha ha, your so funny,” she sarcastically called after him, chuckling good-naturdly, glancing back at Raymond in time to see his implicating face, causing her to snort and stick her tongue out at him, grinning. With her partner-in-crime busy, Azalea got up and began scavenging for some activity to do, wandering aimlessly on the deck before her eyes caught sight of a potato sack sitting in the shade, filled with watermelons. Azalea’s eyebrows lifted, smirking slightly as a humorous idea popped into her head.

Walking over to the sack at the opposite end of the deck, she deftly untied the watermelon sack, retrieving two watermelons and ignoring the sack as it fell over the moment she turned away from it. Briefly she unbuttoned her shirt, shoving two watermelons down her white tunic until they were symmetrically squashing her breasts before she rebuttined her shirt. Grinning, she turned towards Annabel, Angelo’s and Ivanna’s direction, briefly scratching her now persistently itching scars along her cheek.

“Hey guys!” She called from ear to ear with a shit-eating grin to grab their attention, the watermelons buldging underneath her white-shirt looking abnormal on her short petite figure, her buttons about to come flying off around her bust from the strain, “do you think these make me look fat?” She joked before her face suddenly dropped, her gaze moving past the trio to the skies behind them, her lips parting in a silent gasp as she beheld a small horde of mostly black beings flying straight towards the ship, bat-like shaped wings flapping menacingly in the wind.

“Ah, shite. Rotters. Rotten-shilling-punters,” Azalea growled, unbuttoning her shirt and allowing the watermelons to drop to the ground with two separate thumps before rolling around on the ship, rebutting her shirt with a sour expression.

“Bloody.... shite-thingys approaching!” She yelled to alert the rest of the crew, rushing for her bow that had been left leaning against the mast, her quiver on the ground beside it. Azalea had only just bent down and grabbed her bow, her other arm slinging her quiver around her, when a collective amount of thumps along the deck signaled the company’s arrival. Azalea straightened and looked around, her eyes widening in horror, “what the hell,” she hissed in suprise, stumbling back a step.

All around them were not Shades, no, they were different. These beings were tall, very tall, thin and black, not transparent like their Shade counterparts, but sported leather-like bodies, with large, leather bat-like wings, worse, they had eyes. Golden eyes. The creatures surrounded them, there were at least 35 of them, outnumbering them by 15 at least. One of them grinned a collective amount of white, pointed teeth at a petrified looking Aurelie, waving a clawed hand at her. Azalea narrowed her eyes in anger, but found herself unable to move, surrounded just like everybody else, though the creatures made no move to attack them, leaving everyone in a standoff.

Someone pushed their way to the front of the group surrounding Azalea, immediately catching the princess’s eyes. Though with nothing good. Before her stood a pale woman with no clothes—literally none. She was a few inches taller than Azalea only, black, straight hair running to her knees down to her knees and covering her larger...bust. Azalea turned a bright red, embarrassed. She, like Nox, sported claws, though unlike Nox, sported leathery wings as well. She sported cruel, bright gold eyes—and though her features were pretty, she sported a giant of a nose, gaping nostrils that looked like she could smell people for miles. The woman grinned a pointed, canine at Azalea, a hint of madness in her eyes, before she extended her clawed hand towards Azalea,

“A letter for you all,” she sneered, golden eyes glittering with something dark. Cautiously, Azalea took it, narrowing her eyes at the raven haired creature, the creature watching her expectantly as she waited for Azalea to open the letter.

Nox was getting impatient. And angry. As long as she wasn’t in control, she was slowly honing herself into a sharper, hotter blade internally. For the last three months, her arms had been suspended above her head in the same position. For the last three months, she’d had her every needs tended to by soldiers. For the last three months she hadn’t moved. Hadn’t had any....certain activity. Though she had tried certainly, though the soldiers usually assumed she was trying to eat them. And after witnessing her cut down four soldiers within a minute, who could really blame them. But mostly, for the last three months, she hadn’t killed a single thing.

Nox’s gaze followed her target as he walked into the lower deck, and momentarily disappeared, watching him beneath dark lashes as he returned with weights. Her expression remained impassive as he lifted his weights with mostly ease. Impressive. Though she vaguely wondered if he was bored or was showing off, though she figured the latter. Months of observation showed he lacked much of an ego. She didn’t mind the silence, actually she enjoyed it for the most part. She was tired of their yapping.

After awhile, Baxter put down his weights and finally looked at her, asking her if Soris ever told her about the country she had no choice but attend to. “Tch,” Nox made a distasteful noise, “only with great resentment. You forget he lived in a time where tensions with Delchistrier were much larger then your countries current petty squabbles. Soris, however, was willing to do what ever it took to make sure neither of the two neighboring countries never set a hostile foot in Sarthenfall. What ever it took.” Nox gave Baxter a cool, pointed look, referring to Soris’s discovery of magic. This was news however. No history book ever revealed the small bit of information she had—mostly because all history of the Dark Ages and the many of the times before then were wiped clean. Nobody ever truly knew Soris’s motivations. Though, nobody mentioned the Isles either. The country that nobody could ever reach. Every ship attempted to sail out to the mysterious country would never appear again, and eventually both Sarthenfall and Delchistrier tried to forget the country’s existence.

Nox tilted her gaze up at the planks above her, “A savage, bloodthirsty country hidden by refined tastes and pretty masks, ugly truths and pretty lies, where words are more dangerous than any blade,” she mused before she regarded Baxter coolly, “your actions will have consequences. His prejudice of the country runs deep still,” Nox informed with an impassive expression, which turned cold and sharp upon Jeod’s entrance, turning a predatory gaze to him. His fear and uncomfortableness of her was something she amusedly took advantage of, her face cold and sharp, locking eyes with him each time he glanced warily in her direction, offering up a evil, metallic grin another time, just to scare him a little more as in the process of him asking Baxter his question. As soon as the words were out of his mouth, Nox suddenly made a brief scowl behind Jeod, tilting her head slightly up above as a foul, unfamiliar sound and sent reached her senses. “The Mutt,” Nox muttered coldly, her expression frozen over in an icy anger, Azalea’s shot registering throughout the deck a moment. Nox turned her cold expression to Baxter at the sound of collective thumps on deck. The landing of the creatures.

“Your going to want to unchain me,” she said, her voice ice cold.

Cali had been taking her time on the ship in solitude. Mostly working on finishing the crossbow idea she had. The pulley system was there, the modified body for the weapon was made, but now it was regarding something to hold multiple bolts and feed it right into the weapon and pulley system. And it was going well for her, materials for the clip was not expensive, wood was not that stable of a material but with all of the barrels she broke them removing certain types of planks, measurements took a good month on their own. The fact of no crossbow being built the same was a huge hurtle for this. Her prototype was based on a Lorelthian standard crossbow, an unfortunate issue with making more was adjusting to the different types with this build. "And that is a Calore standard one, best get this to Jeremy at the best time. See how it works when I get the chan-, wait, the hell!?"

Cali was shocked as she heard the sound of a lot of things thumping against the deck. She was sure that it wasn't that time yet. Azalea only recently admitted she had feelings for Ray. "Uh Ray just to be sure you are down here right? Oh bollocks I have a baaaad feeling about this." Cali muttered as she held the crossbow slowly walking to the upper deck to even see what's going on. Only poking her head out at the horrific sight outside. "What the hell?" was all she could mutter at all of the abominations that surrounded the ship now.

Tap. Tap. Ta- Raymond paused at the sight of some shade shadowing over the portion of the deck he was trying to set a tarp up on. "Thanks, mate," He mentioned, not turning his eyes away from his work before sending the hammer down once more. Thud. Thud. Thud. The collected impact around the deck caused the guy's brows to furrow. The force he exerted onto the swing was pretty light. Why did the rest of the deck have a minor quake? Ray's eyes finally looked up from his project before landing right on a bunch of dark leather creatures around the deck.

What's going on? He thought to himself and slowly stood up with the hammer still in his hand. At this point it was almost a habit for him to look toward Azalea since she had a mysteriously odd connection with the dark things going on around them. Ray peered over at the princess on instinct; however, a different figure ended up catching his eye. What?! His face tensed into a confused expression. A pale naked female was just standing in front of Azalea and giving her a letter.

"What's wrong?" A familiar voice rang in the guy's mind as a vision of a figure flashed before his eyes. The vague, hazy image layered the actual sight in front of him. Oh! Raymond's face gave off a genuinely shocked expression before he quickly looked left and tilted his head down to focus on the wooden planks. A part of him almost forgot that he was looking at a naked woman creature thing. His eyes blinked more than a couple of times as he tried understanding what he just saw. Meanwhile, he was trying to wipe out a vision that was forcing its way in.

After a few moments, Ray carefully glanced up away from the main creature in time to see Cale enter by the stairs.

Baxter Callahan

200.gif
Was this really Soris's motivation to use magic? Keeping Delchistrier and Isles people from stepping foot onto Sarthenfall seemed like a situation settled from long ago. It didn't quite make sense as to why he returned and with rage as well as intent to murder almost all the living leaders. Baxter folded his arms across his chest as he continued to listen to Nox explain the masks from the country they headed to. It was a detail he first learned about a few years ago. In fact, the lack of masks was the very thing that would distinguish the rebellion from the Delchistrier natives.

Then, Jeod entered. Baxter looked over at the tinkerer at his mention of a question. With a nod, the rebel leader began, "What is-." His words however, paused at the sound of Nox calling someone a mutt. Azalea's announcement about things approaching shortly sounded out afterward. As if on cue, Bax nodded at the guards and was about to step away himself until- Thump. Thump. Thump. The rebel leader raised his hand out toward Jeod, signalling for him to stay by.

His gaze shot upward before lowering back down to the prisoner who claimed that he would want to unchain her. The guards' swift movement as they ran up the stairs could be seen in the man's peripheral vision, causing him to hone his attention into Nox. His footsteps were firm as he approached her with his brows furrowed, "What is happening?" The thought of her suggestion just made him all the more disturbed. Why would he let a killer loose. "Why?" He stated rather than asked.

Angie opened her mouth to continue questioning Annabel on the noble families, but the blonde cut her off. That made her eyes widen, but she was otherwise unaffected. She sighed heavily when Annabel wheeled the conversation back to Cali again, for the fifteenth time. Ugh, gods.
“Cali... Listen, Annabel, I get it, you’re worried. But there’s nothing you can do. She’s been secluding herself for ages- It’s how she’s lived for a long time, alone in a workshop. Some people just want to be angry and hold a grudge. It’s not your job to watch her. It’s not your job to make her happy. If she wants to-“

She looked up from the conversation when Azalea walked over and stood in the middle of the deck with two watermelons down her shirt, looking like an absolute child, which only earned a quirked, unimpressed eyebrow, before all hell broke loose when giant bat things descended from the sky! WHAT?

Angie jumped to her feet and reached for her sword, quickly pulling it from its sheath and pointing it towards the batlike creatures, fully intending to keep them at bay. Of course, they had to show up here when she WASN’T wearing her armor, or her shield.
“Why aren’t they attacking.... what’s going on?” She muttered, eying all the flying monstrosities that sat on the deck.

One two three...One two three...One two three....One two three...

Her huge sword being lifted in a up and down motion like a weight. She stops for a moment to put down the weapon and stretch out her arms. All of her training for the day was done, and at the end of it came meditation to rest her body. Looking up at the sky, watching the birds fly across the blue sight. A low growl can be heard from her stomach, some days she would be so focused in training, food was the last thing on her mind.

Rubbing the area with the right hand and sighing. Grabbing the sword off the wooden planks of the deck. Turning her attention to the left side of her, seeing the waves go by and the sunlight glimmering on the water. Her right ear caught Azalea’s usual voice which made Ivanna turn her head towards the most ridiculous sight she has ever seen. She looked on with her signature blank expression. Honestly I don’t know how one could be so childish in a place of—

Her thought was cut short when she noticed Azalea’s facial expression fell at the sight of something. Making her snap her gaze to the direction of where Azalea was looking. Creatures with wings can be seen in the distance, flying directly towards them. Oh you gotta be shitting me. Before Ivanna could react, the beings were already landing on the ship, which made Ivanna get into her defense stance with sword in hand. Her eyes darting around to see the threats that appeared, gathering the details rather quickly. Their appearance was similar to the one in chains, which means if they were like Nox, then they have Nox’s abilities as well. Ivanna frowned at this thought, keeping a close watch at the beings surrounding her. Noticing a path being formed, and a letter being handed off to Azalea. Ivanna looked directly at Azalea and the letter, knowing she wasn’t going to like it.

Upon hearing that Cali used to be in a secluded place, Annabel had a questionable look on her face. Her hands were under her chin as if she knew what he was talking about. "So that is why Cali talked to me at the beginning of the rebellion. She has a similar problem as me. Although, my problem is far worse than hers." said Annabel. She then moved her hands from her chin, and folded them in front of her face. Her face turned serious once Angelo was done with what he wanted to say to her, because she wasn't joking around with him. "Oh. Are you saying that it is your job to deal with her? Because you are sure making it seem like that, Angelo. Also, I forgot to mention this. But I think Cali is going to try to do something stupid, due to all of the drama. I wouldn't blame her if she does that, so she can get away from us. However, Cali is going to end up being killed by the enemy if nobody helps her." said Annabel.
Annabel didn't know if Cali wanted to run away, but she wouldn't be surprised if the princess does that. Because Cali had to deal with all of the drama that mostly came from Azalea.
'Somebody needs to help her out, because Cali is going to end up doing a horrible mistake.' thought Annabel.

After she has said that to Angelo, Annabel ended up noticing that Azalea stood at the middle of the deck with two watermelons down her shirt. This had made her confused for a few minutes, but she ended up laughing afterward. 'Ok. I didn't see random Azalea coming, and I want to eat one of her watermelon boobies.' thought Annabel, who was actually laughing from that.
However, that didn't last very long, since giant bat things ended up appearing. She took her sword out from her sheath, because she was carrying it around with her. "I don't know, Angelo. But be prepared in case they do attack us." said Annabel.

Every time he caught a glimpse of that steel grin, it caused a shiver to launch through him. God damn it was unnatural. He waited patiently to talk to Baxter, until the idea of unchaining her came into play.

"Ha! If I have any say in this, let's not unchain her!" He said, trying to keep the fear out of his voice. It was strange, he had seen plenty of things that had disturbed him, but this creature took it to a new level. She looked normal enough-even attractive-but he had seen her with her fangs out and claws ready, and it shook him. "In fact if we're taking suggestions perhaps we chain her to something real heavy and drop it overboard?" He snuck a glare at her before turning to Baxter.

"We should also tighten security here don't you think? Just uh in this room..." He felt a little braver, and after taking a few steps away turned and faced the whole room, including Nox.

"I can probably devise some sort of lock or tripwire or something to keep it locked up in here. Whatever is needed." He said trying to sound casual.

Upon the entrance of Cali, two of the talk, leathery batlike figures let out a threatened inhuman shrieks, several flying briefly into the air and landing next to Cali, surrounding her tightly to prevent her from going anywhere. Azalea looked across the deck, shooting a pitiful glance at Cali. She should’ve stayed below decks. Now she was in the mess with the rest of them. Azalea looked back at the naked, winged woman and found her glaring at her.

“Read it!” She hissed demandingly, clenching her clawed hands. Her claws must’ve been at least as long as large daggers, longer than Nox’s. With little option but to, Azalea glanced down at the letter in her hand, turning it over and scowling at the royal seal of Calore on the envelop. She could almost feel Soris’s mocking smile. Angrily, she yanked the envelop open and pulled out the letter throwing the mocking envelop aside. She unfolded the paper, intensely scanning over the elegant handwritten words that flowed across the table, paling as her stomach dropped in her chest, her hand tightening on the letter.

“I’m not reading this,” Azalea snarled angrily, abruptly shoving the paper into the naked lady’s upper torso, below her collarbone, making her stumble back, “read this your own bloody self,” she flinched a little, her scars felt like they were on fire, burning with itch.

The creature stomped her feet and snarled, “You!” She screeched, loudly enough to make Azalea wanna cover her ears, “your supposed to read it! You! You! You!” She yelled angrily, stomping her foot to emphasize. Azalea’s gaze widened. What the hell was wrong with this thing? The creatures massive nostrils widened further as she breathed heavily, full of rage as she glared at Azalea, when her breathing began to settle, and she seemed to calm, she pointed a shaky finger at Azalea, “I can’t touch you, or them,” she hissed, and Azalea knew who she was referring to, “but I can touch THEM,” she turned and pointed at Raymond, then at Angie and Ivanna, before looking back to Azalea and shoving the letter into Azalea’s own chest, her enhanced strength sending Azalea stumbling back into the chest of a leathery creature, which growled and gripped her hard by the shoulders, holding her in place. Azalea fought the urge to slam the tip of her bow up into its throat, it’s claws digging into the white fabric of her shirt. Azalea tensed and straightened, flinching at the pain in her scarred cheek. Cautiously, she lifted to letter once more, opening her mouth to read out its contents—

“Stop. Shut up,” the woman suddenly commanded Azalea, whos brows furrowed in confusion as the woman looked wildly around the deck. “The leader,” she snapped, “where is Baxter Callahan?!” She roared, looking wildly around the deck, only pausing for a second for anyone to answer before she spun around and pointed at a few idle tall, creatures, “find him,” she commanded angrily, her massive nose flaring, “he’s just beneath us. And find the boy too!” She demanded before slowly turning her gaze back to Azalea, igniting the creatures that moved towards the stairs, silently obeying her latest demand.

“I can’t touch you,” she said, jabbing a finger into Azalea’s chest, who winced slightly, though kept her fuming glare on the creature, who then proceeded to turn her back to Azalea, and looked around the deck, dragging her pointer finger with it, “but I can touch them,” she repeated as her finger stopped on Angie, “You,” she said, dragging her finger away and landing on Annabel, after a moment the sharp-toothed woman grinned and waggled a finger at Annabel, “such a shame, we could’ve had much fun together,” she said rather disappointingly, madness shining in her golden eyes as she then dragged her pointer finger to Ivanna, “and you,” she said, then pointing at Priscilla, and then, ever so slowly, dragging her finger to rest on Raymond, “and you. Come forward.” She smiled a red-lipped smile, ignoring the shaking Azalea behind her, white with rage.

The creature clapped her hands together in a show of excitement, “we’re gonna play a game,” she said gleefully, watching as the tall creatures surrounding Priscilla, Raymond, Ivanna, and Angie, prodded them all towards the woman.

“Why?” Nox said, tilting her head up and staring at Baxter as if he were a child, ignoring Jeod’s remark about keeping her chain. She didn’t have to time to deal with the coward at the moment, “now what a curious question to ask in the middle of an attack,” her claws drummed against her chains wound around her arms, looking impatient and bloodthirsty, “quite frankly, your soldiers aren’t enough the handle both her and the Tall Ones. Especially with the mental states of your group. The ones unnecessary would be dead in seconds, until she gets bored.”

Nox’s words were blunt and simple, her expression turning impassive as she spoke, “The Hound,” Nox said, blanching at the title in distaste, “is Soris’s pet, to put it in your words, she is a tracker, and a messenger,” Nox clicked her tongue in distaste, glancing down and staring at the wall across from her, narrowing her golden eyes, “and a disobedient lunatic that can’t follow orders,” she hissed coldly, as if speaking from personal experience and annoyance, her clawed hand flexing as if she was already picturing some imaginary scenario of violence. As if on cue, shrieking and shouts issued above deck, several thumps sounding above them as if someone was stomping around. Nox looked up and let out a hiss of breath.

“Think of her as a wolf leading a pack, Callahan, if you need to,” she said in a condescending manner, “The Tall Ones? They are hers mainly, until he makes more. More powerful then the Shade in the sense they are more physically stronger. None of your men will get within an inch of touching distance before a Tall One rips him to peices, not unless they get scared by something with higher power,” she looked speculativey at the stairs for a moment before sharply glancing up at him, her gaze intimidating, “She has the ability to manifest illusions of one’s greatest fears into physical reality, tell me, how do you think that will go with your group up above?” Nox said, sounding impatient.

“Think long and hard, Callahan. Soris knows your still alive, you know about the royals predicament,” Nox paused in her speech, examining him, “ah, or perhaps you don’t,” she smirked, a dark, bemused smirk at that, “nonetheless, she’s here for you, leader. Soris would want a demonstration...”

“Your son would make the perfect one. She knows this—she also knows the rules on it, and ignores it,”
Nox said, sounding particularly cold, her gaze reflecting annoyance, “it’s your choice. Release me or not, either the Tall Ones will release me or you will, and if they do, I may not be so willing to rid the ship of that mutt, but if your sons life means anything to you, I would recommend you start untying me,” she bristled coolly, her gaze flying past Baxter and to the stairs, where a wooden plank creaked as a leathery, foot stepped upon it.

The Tall Ones were coming down.

Cali's eyes widened at these creatures. What they said, how they behaved, and then it came to the point she threatened Priscilla. Cali felt an inhuman rage at this point. An image in her head of all of the horrors she could visit upon these winged harlots. Shoot their wings off and kick them into the water and watch them struggle before sinking, making their heads explode. But she couldn't do this alone. She hated it but she found herself walking towards the prisoner, no Nox's room. Throwing the door open, her vision being thrown into a crimson like color.

"Ok freak I need an explanation of those things. And as a question can you help me slaughter them and make sure that your master gets the message I am pissed and whoever he somehow loves with that black heart of his is next? That is if you are willing to fight against anything your master makes." Cali said attempting to hide her own bloodlust. Albeit failing, her pupils widened from sheer anger, the rapid breathing. And her hands clenched alongside a readied crossbow.

Oh.
OHHHHHH.
OhhhHHHHH SHIT.

Angie stared, wide eyed, as this naked lady thing shoved an envelope into Azalea’s hands and demanded she read it. When Azalea refused, the thing started to hop around, stomping it’s feet like a small child having a temper tantrum. What the fresh hell is going on here?
Then the thing’s attention fell on her. Ohhhh, that’s not good.

The young woman gripped the leather grip of her sword angrily when the winged thing started to talk about messing with a choice few people on the deck- none of the royalty, basically- and then when Azalea finally tried to read as previously requested, the thing decided that it now did NOT want to hear whatever was in that letter, and instead wanted... to play a game. Ugh... great.

She was about to open her mouth and question the thing, but she quickly felt a jab to her back and she turned, finding those tall bat-like things prodding her, shuffling her away from Annabel. At first she refused to move and leave Annabel, widening her stance to steady herself from their jabbing, but soon enough they seemed to get frustrated and one hissed threateningly, baring dripping, slobbering fangs. Angie maintained a stoic expression with only a slight widening of her eyes and step back, into the prodding wing-claws of the bat creatures behind her. It was pretty clear that she was out of options, so after an internal battle, she took a hesitant step forward, and allowed herself to be heeded towards the creepy white creature. She kept her hand firmly on the hilt of her blade, prepares to chop this thing to bits.

Her expression was angry, her nostrils flared and a piercing teal glare aimed directly at the thing.

Raymond Callahan

Raymond's line of sight toward Cale was soon blocked once the leather bat . . things practically boxed him in. It didn't take long for his gaze to shift back to the creature who kept insisting on Azalea to read the letter even after she removed it from its envelope and silently read it. Gah. He glanced back away annoyed by the fact that the creature didn't have any clothes on. Her naked body was making it hard for him to concentrate. The creature's tantrum though baited Ray to instinctively return his eyes to the scene. This time he tried honing his attention in on her nose. Within a few moments, the creature oddly settled herself down. Ray knew that an advantage or violent idea was lingering somewhere in her mind though.

Soon enough, Raymond found the creature pointing at him as she talked about potentially dealing some damage to anyone who wasn't a royal. That wasn't the line that made the rogue react though. His brows slightly furrowing when the tall thing grabbed Azalea's shoulders. In fact, he had to keep himself from taking any step forward. With that thought in mind, Ray glanced at the others on deck. The women all seemed to be on attack mode, which was never good for . . negotiations like this. He knew from experience.

THEN the creature basically told Azalea never mind about reading the letter. What the heck was going on? Ray was confused. He was confused about everything. Everything but the creature's mention of Baxter Callahan. Unfortunately, her nostrils seemed to easily track the rebel leader with a slight flare.

"And find the boy too!" The creature added to her order.

Raymond paused, feeling his heart stand still. Clyde.

. . Nothing.
The thought ran in his mind. They didn't have the power to do anything. Soris was just playing a game with no other players. If he could fly out and easily spot them, then the dark king could just as easily end the game there. Thoughts continued to run through the guy's mind to the point where he subconsciously started to clench his fists. Clyde shouldn't have to experience any of this. Let alone even see the naked woman.

When Ray looked back at the creature he found her pointing at him again, this time telling him to come forward. His body hesitated to step up for a couple of seconds until he felt the prodding of the tall things around him. By instinct, his body quickly jolted away from all the prodding as he sent an angry glance at the things. Ray could move himself up forward. Thus, his body pushed itself all the way to wherever it was the creature wanted them to stand at. They were going to play a game. Raymond liked games, but something told him that this one wouldn't be like the rest.

Baxter Callahan

Jeod's voice piped up from the side, immediately arguing to not unchain Nox. The tinkerer even had the guts to hint at drowning her. That almost guaranteed it. If ever Nox got out, Bax was sure Jeod just might be the first on her list before him. "Another time, Jeod," Bax nodded though approvingly at the mention of creating things to help keep Nox locked up in the room. But right now something was happening on deck, and he needed to find out how to solve whatever it was.

Nox's voice immediately captured the man's attention again. In her natural condescending tone, she managed to deem his question as useless in the middle of an attack. The logic in Bax was simple though. Of course he wouldn't exactly feel comfortable easily freeing someone who wanted to kill him.

Despite his initial decision, the leader chose to listen. Apparently, there was a "her" and things called "Tall Ones". Bax caught Nox's expression after she noted that the Hound was a lunatic. Right from there he seemed to realize the rivalry.

THUD THUD THUD. His blue gaze shot upwards yet again. What followed next was a concise description of the Tall Ones and the Hound's special abilities. Manifesting fears into reality? She was basically a nightmare. Nox went on explaining portions of Soris's plan. He especially began considering to free Nox at the mention of his son.

Think. The world around Baxter seemed to stop for a few moments while his mind ran the calculations. It made sense. From the sound of the thuds from on deck, they were all outnumbered. Either way it wouldn't be good news for the rebellion's members. If he kept Nox tied up, the crew would have to face the creatures themselves. They sounded too powerful so that thought was immediately shot down. But if he released Nox, there was a slim chance that she would keep her word about defeating the Hound. Worst case scenario, Nox kills him right after. After all, he was her target. The well-being of the rest at that point of the calculation was up in the air. At least they had a well-being to consider. If Nox stayed chained and the creatures took them all out, then there would be no well-being at all.

The rebel leader furrowed his brows at Nox. The man was annoyed by the mental trap he had to think themselves logically out of. "Don't move," He sternly mentioned before quickly undoing her chains until they could be heard dropping and making contact with the wooden floor.

When Annabel notice that Cali came up to the upper deck of the ship, she was going to tell her to go back down to the lower deck. However, it was too late for her to tell Cali to do that. For those leather bat creatures ended up noticing her, and then surrounded Cali in order to prevent her from leaving. 'Great. Now Cali is stuck in this mess, and they might still try to attack us.' thought Annabel.
Even thought, she was expecting for them to do that. What happen next was a bit unexpected for them, because the leather bat lady ended up giving Azalea a letter. The Bat Lady then tried to force Azalea to read it, but the stubborn princess didn't want to read it for some reason. 'Are you kidding me, Azalea? Why aren’t you going to read it like the bat lady said, since you are just making her mad.’ thought Annabel. She knew that the letter might be from either Soris or the Delchistrier King. However, Annabel didn’t want them to be angry, since it isn’t a good idea to do that.
The Bat Lady ended up throwing a temper tantrum over the fact that Azalea isn’t reading the letter, and that behavior confused Annabel. Because she thought that bat lady would be more mature, but that doesn’t seem to be the case. ‘Geez. This bat lady is even worse than Azalea if she is throwing a temper tantrum over that.’ thought Annabel.
After she thought about that, the bat lady started to point at all of the non royals, so they can play a game with her. This immediately got Annabel’s attention, and her face turned pale from that and what she said to her. Because she didn’t want them to find out about her royal title, due to how the bat lady is treating her differently. ‘Oh shit! She is trying to separate the non royals from the royals, so I kind of stand out now.’ thought Annabel, who was worry about that. She knew that they were going to be suspicious of her once this is over. But for now, Annabel needs to be ready for whatever the bat lady is trying to do.
