- — festival of fantasyA group that will follow the five kingdoms of the Garene Empire during the exciting festival of fantasy! Every five years, each kingdom brings their royal children to the designated palace for that year for a week full of parties, balls, carnivals and other excitement. It's a week that all four kingdoms come together in peace and harmony for, not that their ever warring, however there have been some disagreements in the past that could potentially threaten the calmness everyone has come to know and expect.
The Festival of Fantasy is their way to both distract and remind these royals why living peacefully is the right choice. Each kingdom is powerful in their own right, and not just because of the armies and navies many have built up from the ground. Each of the four kingdoms have been blessed with magical gifts, or moreso, the royals have been.
There is much excitement surrounding the festival and the meeting of all of these royals for the first time in so long, but this could also spell danger as not all are there for the right reasons. Whether you be a prince, princess, lady in waiting, a knight, or perhaps someone else amongst the crowd, you are expected to be on your best behavior while at the festival. There will be guards watching over each night of the party, so stay alert for danger and maybe even love.

The Festival of Fantasy is how the Garene Empire has decided to get rid of arranged marriages, at least for the most part. If one does not find a match or loses their beloved to another during this week, then they shall be paired with another royal single for the rest of their days and begin a life that way. Of course, some have been known to flee if this is their fate while others have simply drank poison. The choice is yours if you end up alone by the end. Usually, the four kingdoms are the ones to host the event, however this year, the Solstice kingdom, who usually stays out of the event, has decided to send in their own heirs.
As for the five kingdoms; Tairis, Cidal, Bruwyth, Phora and Solstice, they have their own interesting histories. One thing that they all share though, are their gifts from nature itself. No one knows exactly where the gifts came from or how they came to be, but when the five royals found the rocks atop Mount Vesuvi, all was well in the world. It was soon found out that the gems magic wouldn't work if wielded by one alone, so they split them evenly amongst the five.
Each gem gives great power to those in the royal family as each member is given a piece of jewelry with a small piece of the gem inside of it to give them the power of the gem's choosing. Each member of the family has their own unique power, but, if need be, the ruler can us their own gemstone to do what they feel must be done with its magic.
Tairis, the kingdom of fire, is ruled by King Francis who is known for his gruff, yet kind leadership. He has two daughters and two sons. The people of the royal family are beloved by the citizens of Tairis due to them constantly mingling about the commoners and helping when need be. Though it may not seem 'proper', the royal family is much more concerned with keeping them and their people happy and healthy.
Cidal, the water kingdom, has recently lost its king and therefore is ruled by Queen Ivanna, who is more well-known as Ivanna the Huntress. There are rumors floating about that she killed her husband, however no one is brave enough to accuse her. Many fear for whoever shall marry her eldest son as she could end up assassinating them as well. No one knows what really happened to the King, but one thing is for sure, Ivanna is as cold as they come, even to her three children, two sons and a daughter.
Bruwyth is the earth kingdom and is calmly ruled by the King and Queen equally, which may be why it's so prosperous in the agriculture department. Of course, the magic that flows from their elemental gem has to help too. The twins of the Bruwyth kingdom, a boy and a girl, are both technically in line to rule, so it's a bit of a waiting game to see who will take over when their parents pass.
Phora, better known as the air kingdom. Ruled solely by King Leonard and his five children, three boys and two girls, everything is extremely well-balanced. He believes in equality over equity and his kingdom reflects that. Though he believes in equality, he also believes in tradition, which means his eldest son will take over for him when he can no longer rule.
Lastly we have the kingdom of Solstice, which is a bit more mysterious when compared to its four neighboring kingdoms. Known as the kingdom of the stars, Solstice is ruled be Queen Leila and King Armand, both having equal amounts of power within court. Solstice has always been a sort of legend to those outside of it, as they've never had to attend the Festival of Fantasy before, but now with their triplets nearing the age where they must take the throne, the kingdom's only option in deciding who can rule is based on which partners their children bring home.

This will only be the case for the Princes and Princesses, so if you're not interested in one of those, feel free to reserve a character.
*NOTE; this is going to be a soft reboot of the group since we've had to replace characters. You wouldn't have missed anything : ). I am, however, only accepting the royal roles listed below, so no knights, ladies in waiting, etc.

001 This will be a literate - adv.lit group so think at least 3 paragraphs per response, however you decide to divide it up in your writing. Along with this, a writing sample will be part of the application process.
002 Must be 17+ to join the group, it's just comfier for older members that way, nothing personal.
003 No one likes OOC drama, so if you can't keep it IC only, this is not the group for you. Nothing characters do are personal to the player behind them, at least they shouldn't be.
004 You must have and keep up with Discord as this is where all OOC convos and planning will take place.
005 Be kind to each other. I can't express this enough. You never know what people are going through and if roleplay is some sort of escape, so please, just be kind.
