Today was the day. The day new Guardians would be introduced to the public, and the day old Guardians would either retire, advance in the career, or simply participate in the grand event. It was a glowing day in the city of New Eden, and hundred of Furraine and Human citizens had gathered in front of the Guardian's main building. The building itself was as majestic as the city itself, a fine work of architecture for fine individuals of self sacrifice. Each Guardian had been chosen for one reason or another... skill, leadership skills, potential, effort, the list continued, but everyone knew that today was special to all of New Eden.

Harvey Harlock.jpg
The crowd was loud, conversing among themselves as they waited for the ceremony to begin, individuals of all backgrounds had gathered, and many of the Guardian's parents would be there, somewhere in the crowd. Eventually a man clad in a silver coat stepped forth onto the stage and looked out on the crowd. He looked young, and he was, only in his late twenties in fact. "Greetings citizens of New Eden!" As he spoke, his commanding voice echoed throughout the court yard with the aid of the sound systems that had been set up. The crowd began to quiet down, and the man continued. "First, I would like to congratulate our newest Guardians for making it this far... in fact, this is one of the larger groups we've had in quite some time. Please, let us applaud them for a moment." The crowd bursted in an uproar, everyone clapped and yelled their praise for a few moments before settling down. "Now, as we all know, the Guardians are the primary line of defense for our beautiful home, and as such, they must be trained to deal with anything. Although many of our recruits may seem young, or their personalities may make them seem unfit for a job like this, they have each earned their rightful place among our ranks. Each of them deserves the title of Guardian just as much as anyone else already part of this organization. Just as you, they too come from diverse backgrounds and struggles, making the feat they've just achieved that much more a reward." He looked back to the various recruits as well as the four Guardians he had requested join the ceremony. "I believe they will do much for New Eden... however, they must still prove themselves yet. Threats still exist, and as such, New Eden will never truly be safe. These new Guardians, I hope, will aid in the protection of the people, so that you may live in harmony and safety as long as we stand." The crowd again cheered. "Now, allow me to introduce the latest recruits, as well as give them their new tools for the job."

Everyone was silent this time, new tools? What did the commander of the Guardians mean by that? "In preparations for the battles to come, our most gifted scientists have developed new weaponry for these new Guardians in hopes to begin a new age of Guardians. Ones more prepared for threats we may otherwise be unprepared for... now... allow me to introduce the newest recruits." One of the Guardians behind the commander stepped up with the first set of weapons, and the commander motioned for the first recruit, Hikari Yumi. "Hikari Yumi... as a welcome to our ranks, I present you your guardian weapons, Night's Edge, Night's Fall, and Eclipse. Each is unique in its capabilities, all of them suitable to your skills." Hikari accepted the weapons, nodded, and returned to her place.

"Xero." the commander waited for the human boy to walk up. "To you, we gift these swords and this dagger. The swords will aid you should you need them, wield them with care." The commander gave the boy the two swords and dagger and nodded to him, a sign of respect that the commander gave to all the Guardians. Next was another girl, this one with purple hair. "Mireya Reyes." Again he waited for the new Guardian to approach. "To you, we give a unique blade to catch opponents off guard. Along with your skills, I believe you'll use it well." Another nod, another guardian to introduce. As the girl would retreat to her spot, he'd move on to the next. "Min YoonHa." As the girl approached, "We give you two blades, Serenity and Discord. One to protect, one to destroy. I know you'll use them wisely and justly.

The commander had already introduced four, and that would usually have been the end of introductions, and ending the ceremony. Yet still two stood waiting. "Andrew Conner." Again the commander waited, and through all this talking, one would think he'd need a drink by now, yet he seemed to be faring just fine. "To you, we gift two weapons, deemed 'Warden' and 'War Hawk'. Each are powerful in their own right, and we believe your bright mind will put each to impressive use. I'd like to see what you achieve." A nod to dismiss the boy, and a gesture to the last of the recruits that were present. "Aiko Iwa." As the girl approached, and the second Furraine of the group, the commander was given two large objects, but Aiko would recognize what they were. "To you, a most impressive marksman, we give The Arc. Typically a bow is obsolete considering the age we live in now, yet you proved to us that we were wrong. This is an upgrade we believe you'll put to very good use, and we hope you continue to impress us."

Grim.jpg
Finally the introductions were finished. The crowd cheered and clapped for the newest Guardians, and the praise continued for several minutes before the commander silenced them. "That concludes this year's ceremony... thank you for those who have come to show your support for the Guardians," He turned to the recruits, "and thank you... for choosing to protect the people of New Eden." As the ceremony ended, the commander spoke with one of the other guardians he'd asked to attend, and a third walked to the group of recruits. "Commander Harlock wants you recruits to be on the training floor in an hour. Don't be late." Anyone who had done any research on the Guardians would know this brooding metal ninja. Grim, the legendary S Rank Guardian. Nobody knew much about him, but one thing was for certain, he was a legend among the legends. "Here's some advice, survive today to save tomorrow. It'll save your life one day." With those words of cryptic advice, Grim walked past the group of recruits and towards the entrance of the Guardian's HQ.

The crowd was enough. It completed the perfect picture for Xero as he walked on stage with the rest of the newly inducted Guardians, a nervous smirk on his face. Was it nervousness? Excitement? His thoughts rambled on and on while the ceremony took place. He casually glanced to his right and left, offering a quick glance and smile to the ones next to him. It was some excitement, as told by his face, but nothing near immaturity. It was more for the responsibility he knew he needed to do a good job with this. Working your entire life for more responsibility, isn't that a treat?

It was nothing more then being actually proud for who he was, he looked up to the Commander once he mentioned introducing all of them. One name called, Xero was next in line, his heart was pumping fast and his fingers bouncing off of each other. It was nervousness, wasn't it? Nothing he can't handle as he caught the nod to Hikari, signaling he was ready for the next in line. That happened to be Xero.

"Xero."

He put on a smile as he moved up to the Commander, patiently awaiting as he was handed his tools. Two swords, Xero's 'Oathkeepers' and a dagger to aid him. The Commander gave him a nod, and Xero returned the nod in a thankful manner. He followed back to his place in line, slipping the dagger in a small sheath on his torso and just holding the swords for the moment. He managed to at least mess one thing up today, he forgot his sheaths for his swords. Fine, whatever, he didn't care. He was trying every amount of control to just watch the rest of the ceremony, keeping his eyes up, facing the Commander and all. This took some serious self control to not fangirl over the entire ordeal, but he kept his composure for now. Maybe he'll sneak away later and do it. Either way, as he looked up again, he noticed the ceremony was coming to a close. A deep breath, as Xero wiped his forehead and closed his eyes for a moment.

He looked around as soon as he opened them back up and saw Grim walking over. Is that seriously who attended? Xero's face had a certain surprised look to it, but quickly rid it of his life as Grim spoke;
". . . Recruits to be on the training floor in an hour, don't be late."

Xero nodded to this, he needed to head back to his quarters anyways to get his sheaths. Then, Grim spoke yet again.

"Survive today to save tomorrow. It'll save your life one day. . ."

As he walked off leaving those words behind him, Xero simply looked around at his fellow recruits, deciding not to say anything for now as he ran off towards his quarters. Like, actually ran. This isn't an exaggeration. He needed his sheaths as his blades were still in his hands as he left.

Mireya stood before the public eye as she listened to the Guardian introduce them. She just looked out to the crowd, knowing that her family wasn't out there. They had made it clear that they didn't want to do anything with her. She was alright with that since it allowed her to focus on her end goal, to protect.

She looked as calm and emotionless as she could, trying to not make a fool of herself. Yes, she was excited to no end, but the last thing she needed was to be known as the idiot that made a mistake. All she did was keep her eyes forward and focused on the speech that the Guardian was stating. One by one, he called us up to receive our tools, our weapons that will follow us in our next journey in our Guardian Career.

When she was called up, Mireya bowed her head slightly in respect and acknowledgment as she took her tool. The tool in her hands looked like nothing but the handle of a sword, but she knew what weapon was given to her. Sheathing it, she took her spot next to Xero as she gave him and Hikari a nod, silently congratulating them. Her grandfather's pistols were holstered under her jacket adding to the new weapon she was given.

She was so too distracted with the memory of rebuilding the revolves that she almost missed the end of the ceremony. She let out a deep sigh as she noticed the legendary Grim. She had always wished to learn his technics, but his style never was her's to master. Mireya straightened up a bit as he approached her and the rest of the recruits.

"Commander Harlock wants you recruits to be on the training floor in an hour. Don't be late. Here's some advice, survive today to save tomorrow. It'll save your life one day."

Mireya mentally nodded as she tried to keep his warning in mind. It was hard to get to where she is now, so to just die in a matter of days wouldn't be ideal. She looked back as she noticed Xero running off toward the sleeping quarters, and she couldn't help but feel bad for the guy. That didn't stop her from entering the building behind Grim and heading toward the training floor.

Yoonha Min//민 윤하
location: Outside; Guardians Headquarters
mood: Excited yet Nervous. Ready for a new start

"once upon a time, an angel and a devil fell in love. it did not end well."

To say that Yoonha was nervous for the start of her new life was a bit of an understatement. She was quite positively terrified. There was, however, an emotion that dominated her fear. It was that of excitement. She was proud of herself for having come this far and being selected as one of the new Guardians of New Eden. Her parents were less than happy with her choice of career but were proud nonetheless. She wished that she could see them in the crowd, but the chances of them being here were slim at best.

Yoonha looked on as each of the new recruits were selected and brought forward to receive their weapons by the commander. Each weapon was special in its own manner and she couldn't wait to have hers in her hands. Technically, she already had one. A parting gift from her father, a dagger named Eoreum. This, though, was for emergencies only as its effects could be drastic. Even though that was so, she always kept it strapped to her thigh. Just in case. As the third person had gone, a girl named Mireya, she heard her name being announced and she walked to the place where every guardian had stood before her. Where they had waited in anticipation to receive their weapons and their wants were satisfied.

"Min YoonHa. We give you two blades, Serenity and Discord. One to protect, one to destroy. I know you'll use them wisely and justly." the Commander's voice boomed. The girl dwarfed him in size and she felt smaller than she already was standing next to him. Yoonha glazed at her blades. They were so beautiful; they were practically glistening in the morning light. Sheathing them, she gave the commander a bow of respect and returned to her previous position. Glancing off to her left side, there were still two more people standing in silence. She had been told more than four guardians was a rarity. But, these days, she figured New Eden would need all the protecting it could get.

As the last two went and the crowd roared with applause and cheer, another figure walked over to the freshly inducted recruits, a Legendary S Class warrior named Grim, "Commander Harlock wants you recruits to be on the training floor in an hour. Don't be late." He said curtly before beginning to speak again, "Here's some advice, survive today to save tomorrow. It'll save your life one day." Yoonha couldn't quite understand what he meant by those words, but she had already decided to keep them close to her. Turning to her left and right she straightened up, squaring her shoulders. These were the five other people she would spend a grand portion of her life with. These were the people she was entrusted to help, and the ones that would, in turn, help her.

Hikari Yumi.jpg
What a momentous occasion. Today they had finally become guardians. Hikari always knew she'd make it, but still it felt invigorating to finally hold the title. Of course she had interacted with the other guardians before and knew the building well thanks to the many visits when she was young. Sheathing the two swords and throwing the sniper rifle over her shoulder, she made her way towards the building. If she remembered correctly, they were about to be assigned partners as well as receive their first jobs. She couldn't help but feel excited, but she managed to hold her composure. After all, the other guardians seemed to be holding up just fine as well, except Xero, he seemed to be unprepared. She hoped that was a one time ordeal, especially if she was partnered with him.
I'm finally a guardian...

Andrew Conner.jpg
The expression on Andrews face could not be mistaken for anything else but bored as he stood in line waiting to hear his name, his arms crossed over his chest and his foot tapping impatiently. He always hated ceremonies or anything of the like, finding them borderline pointless and a waste of time. But yet here he was, standing atop this stage as hundreds of people watched his induction into the Guardians, cheering on the freshest line of meet that would be thrown between them and any danger that happened to come across the city. It didn't matter though. It was a job that needed to be filled, and what better line of work to test his technology then the Guardians? Who knows, this could turn out to be quite fun, but Andrew would hold doubts until the job actually started.

As the man in the silver coat rambled on about things Andrew couldn't care less about, his gazed moved out over the crowed, instantly spotting his parents near the front row and seeing the proud smiles on their faces. They expected no less then the best from him so that's exactly what he gave them; when he told his parents he intended to join the Guardians they had supported it fully, and even used their connections to influence the weapons he would receive. Speaking of which, his attention turned back to the ceremony as the recruit in front of him was called up, waiting a few moments longer before his too was called up. With an adjustment of his coat he stepped forward and collected his weapons, sheathing the sword at his side and slinging the rifle over his shoulder before giving the Commander a nod and taking his place back in line to resume his bored and uninterested stance.

But as the ceremony came to an end and the metal ninja came forward, Andrew perked up, an eyebrow raising as something interesting FINALLY showed up. He had liked Grim, but not in the way most people do. The city saw him as a hero and cherished him for it, and his skill was indeed without question. But to Andrew none of that mattered much, since it was the tech he was wearing and the weapons he held that peaked his interest. Oh how he'd love to see what Grim was made of.

"Commander Harlock wants you recruits to be on the training floor in an hour. Don't be late. Here's some advice, survive today to save tomorrow. It'll save your life one day."

His thoughts were cut short by the command, but it looks like it was time to get to work. Conner took one look down the line of fellow Guardians before they all headed out, shaking his head at the one that sprinted off. The hope that all of them were not useless quickly began to drain. Perhaps being competent was to much to ask for?

The moment he arrived at the quarters, Xero went straight to his bunk, tearing apart his sheets and cleaning off his bed entirely. He pulled the trunk out from under it, threw it open and set everything on top of the bed.

"Are you actually kidding me? Where did I put them?" A kick into the trunk, closing the lid as he now looked under the bed. No luck.

"Oh my God, what have I done? Alright Xero. Would they pull a prank on you? Maybe hide them some place else. . . Left them on someone else's bunk?" He paced the room, laying the swords on top of the crap from his trunk as he continued to mumble to himself. "Dude, you can't just tear apart the other bunks. But they have to be here right? Where did you set them, boy?"

He shuffled over towards any and every container in the room, searching them up and down, inside and out. Again, no luck. It wasn't until he basically trashed his side of the room before he saw the two sheathes hanging on the laundry line. Ah, great. Wonder who did that. A heavy sigh, he attached them to his belt and slid the swords inside, now shoving everything at least in his trunk before making his way back out of the place, towards the main building again.

The sweat running from his forehead to his chin dripped off him as he basically ran back, making sure not to be late by any means as he made it inside the place, fast walking to the training floor. Being as confident as he was with his blades and skills, he didn't feel that this training today would be anything harder then what they've already done. It was known he was a very precise swordsman and very consistent with training, so maybe Andrew would think he was too useless after a while.

He made it to the floor and leaned on the wall in the downtime. He tends to overwork himself for the smallest tasks just to have more time. In fact, he was pretty early.

Eventually, once all the Guardians had arrived to the training floor, three people were waiting. Captain Harlock, Grim, and a woman who looked like an older version of Hikari. Captain Harlock was the first to speak. "I'm glad you could join us fellow guardians. Today's training is going to be a bit different than most training you've done before. You already know how to kill, you already know how to wield your choice weapon with near perfect mastery, and you've got impeccable battlefield awareness and focus. Having you train those skills more would be a waste of your potential, and a waste of our time. However, your new weapons have capabilities far beyond your older standard issue equipment. Mrs. Yumi will explain the details." Captain Harlock nodded to Hikari's mother who took a step forward.

"As Captain Harlock said, your weapons are not ordinary equipment in the slightest. Their appearance should be more than enough to tell you that much, however you also don't know what those capabilities are yet. I'll be teaching each of you what your weapons do, their ideal use, and how to use them around each other without killing someone accidentally. Each weapon is unique, and as such will require you to practice with them rather than standard equipment in order to master their uses." Mrs. Yumi looked to Hikari, "May I see your twin blades Hikari?" Hikari nodded, giving her mother the two swords deemed Eclipse and Night's Edge. "Both these swords look different, and each sword does something a little different than most other swords. This one," She held up Night's Edge, "Is built for deadly accuracy, and high speed combat. The blade itself is thin, but the material is strong enough that a skilled user of this sword can effortlessly cut through several inches of steel." She then held up the other sword Eclipse, "This one on the other hand is heavier, and can't move as quickly. Unlike the other, this one is made from a more durable material, built to take hits in defensive situations. It also has material that renders energy shields the equivalent to the clothes on your back. Then there's my favorite cheap trick that this blade is capable of." Taking the sheathe the sword came with, she quickly flicked it and blinded all the guardians for a moment. "The sheathe has a reflective coating to blind enemies. Very useful in the right situation."

Mrs. Yumi gave the swords back to her daughter before continuing. "I've prepared data pads with all the information you need on each of your individual weapons and their capabilities. It is up to you to come here whenever you have the time to practice with your new weapons along with reading what your weapons are capable of. I will be with the science team for this project, so if you have questions about these weapons, please inform me." She looked over to Captain Harlock and nodded, "That's all Captain." Harlock nodded back and spoke up. "There you have it. Until further notice, that is your current mission. Master your new weapons, and take your time in doing so. There is no need to rush in case you hurt yourself." As he spoke, Mrs. Yumi handed each of them a data pad as she informed. "Grim will be here for the rest of the day if you want to spar with each other. He will watch the duel and give advice when you are finished. I would love to stay and watch, however I have tasks that demand my attention elsewhere." Captain Harlock nodded once more to everyone, and left alongside Mrs. Yumi. Grim had remained, but said nothing to any of the new guardians, nor did he make a move to leave.

Ruslan
There was nothing worse than setting up a bad example on your first day on the job, and Ruslan was already doing just that. Finding himself hustling and bustling down the absurdly long corridors of the Guardian HQ, the bear-like fellow would be seen preparing himself for the day to come. Brushing his teeth and fixing his hair, the bear hybrid couldn't believe that he had slept in on the day of introductions. Did they start without him? Was it already over? The sounds of dying cheers and a loss of commotion outside answered that question for him. What was after the introduction ceremony? Oh, right. Training.

Taking a sharp right, Ruslan skidded against the significantly-more-clean-than-him floors and bolted down yet another set of long hallways. He should've asked for a map of this damn place because he was more lost than a blind man in a maze. The silent halls quickly filled up with the chatter of clinking armor that was poorly fashioned on his person, along with the grunts and wheezes of his easily exhausted self. Thinking of what he would do for a good buffet right about now, Ruslan could only hope that he'd eventually run into the training room or into somebody who knew where it was. He hoped for the latter.

The stress was enough to his burly self. With long breaths and an abrupt halt to his step, Ruslan placed his mechanical arms to his knees, his chest heaving from the waste of precious energy. "Wh-what's with. . . this place. . . and all of these damn. . . HALLS!" Exclaiming the last part as if to blame the construction crew for completing a poor design, the taller man fell to the ground, not daring to stand up once more. Staring at the brightly lit fluorescent lights above, there was a dwindling hope in the man's eyes. This was his last stand. He wasn't going to make it. "Take me away, damn it! Show me what you've got!" With a good scream and an escape of some building frustration, Ruslan contemplated the pros and cons of rotting away on the clean floor below him. They'd clean him up afterward, at the very least.

    VIXA_1.jpg
You could say her whole life was leading up to this moment. Becoming a guardian was the ultimate excuse to kick ass, take lives, and appear to be doing so with justice and the safety of the innocent in mind. How comical. But convenient. Vixa could care less about the lives of the so called innocent of Eden. Those who couldn't take care of themselves would be better off dead. No matter how challenging she was, she wouldn't dare utter those words aloud. Not less she wanted to lose the title she had worked so hard to achieve.

The ceremony had gone well, and now the guardians had been asked to report to the training floor pronto afterwards. Not a surprise. Vixa wondered if punctuality would be graded. Making her way through the halls to the appropriate area, she skipped and spun every few steps. Her new weapon set thrilled her to a tee. Her light green tail swished from side to side as she walked, and the hood on her cloak that was flipped up drooped over her ears. Stretching her fingers out in front of her, she beamed at the claws that extended from them, knowingly charged with the poison she filled this morning. They weren't terribly long in order to preserve easy parkour related movements. She was sure she could do some fatal damage if she sunk the claws into someone's skin along vital veins , but that experiment would have to wait for a later day. If need be, she could use the shuriken she was so used to throwing to do some damage. However, there seemed to be something special about the ones given to her this morning. Nestled in a pouch on a garter belt around her left thigh, they lay dormant for now.

About to take the stairs at the end of the hallway that lead to the training floor, she heard a scream in the near distance. Hah? Her ears perked underneath her hood, and she turned towards the sound. Curiosity began to eat away at her flesh, and it became clear training was going to have to wait a bit longer. Traveling towards the sound in swift, but quiet movements actually proved to be a bit more difficult than she had hoped for. The armor fittings over her boots were new to her, so running in them felt odd. Like breaking in a new pair of shoes. But she figured with time the feeling would become natural. She wasn't sure what to expect when she rounded another corner towards the source of the sound, but as she delicately made her way over to the mass lying upon the ground, her nose breathed in the slightly familiar scent. If the mechanical arms didn't give it away, his scent would.

Peeking over at the man, her face blocked out the lights above him. Being careful not to puncture his skin with her claws, she reached out to fondle the soft, delicate ears on his head. "Ruslan? You can't doze off in the middle of the hall way. Training is starting very soon." Her voice was playful and accusing. Ruslan lived around her neighborhood, so he was no stranger. Although his appearance might come off as intimidating to those who didn't know him, Vixa knew that was far from the case.

Mireya took the data pad that Mrs. Yumi handed her and took in the information that was there. Everything from the sword she had been given was there. To her amusement, even her revolvers were in the data pad. she turned on her heels as she walked toward one of the far walls and sank down to sit, taking in everything from her own data base in her computerized contacts.

As she looked at the data pad, Mireya's eyes glowed purple as she began to read everything that the Guardience have collected from her time here. It was as if she was reading a novel of herself, as she recalled every moment that this information was collected from. Once she got her data, she continued to analyze the info and adding it to the rest of her own data.

Once she was done, she finally blinked, several times as she took continued to see the hud. In her eyes, she could see a simulation that she had built for herself as she watched the outcome it would bring to her, correcting them as she watched. After another few minutes, her eyes began to slowly go back to her natural eye color and got up. She looked about the training room as she began to take in every different Guardian that are in the same boat as her.

Ruslan
Just as Ruslan was about to resign all hope and forfeit his ideal of becoming a Guardian, he felt an unfamiliar touch graze the tip of his ears. Then, as if to make some tremendous reveal, a petite face replaced the blinding light that was once above him. It took a few seconds to match a name to the adorable presence now gazing down at him, but once he made the connection, he stated bluntly, "Vixa." There was no follow up. No conversation started. Just a simple greeting, as if trying to go any further would simply wear him out completely.

With his ears trembling from the metallic touch, Ruslan's cheeks became a shade pinker as he realized not only the situation he was in but his folly prior. Taking it upon himself to set himself up with an "Oof," Ruslan found himself sitting across from the cat-like girl, his eyes failing to pry away from the sway of the oddly dyed - and fluffy - tail. Scratching the back of his head and letting a defeated breath of air, he couldn't really respond to the reason behind him 'dozing off' on the floor. Trying to play it off as an intention, rather than a complete mess up on his end, he would quickly state, "Ah, right, training. I was just heading there now and thought I'd take a moment to admire the, uh, lighting. Yeah, they really made them bright. Really good job."

He jerked his thumb behind him, indicating that was where he was headed. Unbeknownst to him, this was the exact opposite of where the training room was located, meaning he was just talking out of his ass. His sloppy appearance didn't do anything to help with this blatant lie, either. His armor was hanging off his waist, exposing the casual garments he wore underneath, and to make matters worse, he was trying his best to obscure the tube of toothpaste that now rested at his feet. So, with the most casual and easygoing smile he could muster (not to mention the toothpaste that was still stuck to his teeth), he would act out his role as the proper and dedicated Guardian that he believed himself to be.

"Since you seem to be so lost, I guess it wouldn't hurt to, uh, lead you to the training room. Buuuut, since I have so much respect and faith in you, I'll let you take the lead. We can see if those senses you take so much pride in haven't worn out." Nodding to himself a few times as reassurance, he hoisted himself up, the armor making a racket against his sides as he did so. To anyone else, it looked to be more of a burden to be wearing such constraining arms, but the physical capabilities that Ruslan contained were more than enough to make it appear as nothing more than an extra layer of skin. Responding with only one more remark, he would tell the feline in a hushed tone, "A-Also, the ears are sensitive. Don't just go touching them without telling me first, yeah?"

As Ruslan picked himself up off the floor, Vixa eased herself back. Staring at him quizzically as he played off his actions sent an amused smirk across her face. Admiring the lights huh? Just who do you think you're talking to? Vixa wasn't the gullible type, but for Ruslan's sake, she might just play along. "I suppose they are strikingly bright." Ruslan pointed behind him at the direction of the supposed training floor. Only, if that were the case. And it wasn't. It was obvious given his loose attire and specs of toothpaste apparent on his teeth revealed when he smiled that he was in a rush. Still, Vixa couldn't piece together what that had to do with the way she found him. Had he given up when she arrived? Already plagued with tardiness. Or maybe he really was taking a moment to admire the lights after all.

He went on to insist that Vixa take the lead to show off her skills, and although it was meant to cover his own ass, Vixa visibly brightened. The words respect and faith ran through her mind on repeat.
"Of course they haven't worn out!" More importantly, even if Vixa were lost, the only thing she would have to do to find her way was to follow Mrs. Yumi's intoxicating scent. Yes, you could say Vixa was a bit starstruck over the woman. She knew Mrs. Yumi's scent anywhere. Rumor had it that her very own daughter was among the new guardians today, and Vixa couldn't wait to meet her. She must be so cool. Not as cool as me of course, but anybody related to Mrs. Yumi must be a born prodigy. She was itching to spar with her. What was her name? Vixa scraped her mind back to the entrance ceremony. Hikari.

Blinking away her thoughts and focusing back at the situation at hand, she watched as the bear Furraine rose to his feet. The height difference between them was quite drastic, and she had to tilt her head upward to properly gaze at the man. His last comment lured a small laugh out of the woman. "Well, it wouldn't be any fun if I asked permission to touch them." With a wink, she turned and began to walk in the direction towards the training floor. The right direction.

A few steps before reaching the training floor, Vixa turned back to Ruslan and gave him a once over. Her hands on her hips. "At least fix your armor. If you're going to be late, at least do it fashionably." She flicked her tail and walked onto the training floor, seeming to walk in just in time as they were handing out data pads. Having missed the earlier speech Vixa would just have to roll with it. Taking her own data pad, she began to slip through the necessary yet tedious text. Only grabbing the interesting specs. Vixa wasn't much of a strategist, and her way of learning did not include reading or talking, but actively doing.

Her eyes instinctively scanned the are, particularly in hopes of spotting Mrs. Yumi's daughter. Hearing whispers around her, it became clear that they were supposed to be sparring with one another, feeling out their new gifts given to them. Yet, nobody was doing anything. They appeared to be lounging around, some were absorbed in their data pads. How boring. She opened her pouch and withdrew one of the shuriken. Aphotic Shuriken. She had skimmed through the different uses within the data pad but couldn't recall which was which. Well, let's see what this one does. She took the blade and spun around, gaining momentum as she threw the blade through the air towards a target she had loosely scouted out. A man with tousled blue hair leaning against one of the walls. The blade lit up green as it hit the wall an inch from the man's face, resulting in a minor explosion. Hitting her fist against her hand she mentally noted, So this shape results in an explosion.

The training room was built as to absorb any given damage, so the wall remained solid.

Data pads? Xero looked somewhat confused as the pads were passed out and eventually, he got his. He shook it off and read the pad in the room and another face to express his confusion. Leaning against the wall, he continued to swipe through it for a good while before giving up and placing it in his pocket. He let out a sigh before he heard a silent 'pfft' sound. Unsure what it was he looked forwards to see a shuriken planted in the wall. HE raised a brow and as soon as he did. . . It exploded in his face. What a friendly hello.

Xero stumbled back, coughing, with his face blackened by the ignition and a small cut from the shrapnel across his cheek. Let's just say that was pretty much luck. He wiped his face and turned around, hurried with his ears ringing, to see a girl seemingly the cause of this. He looked to her for a few more seconds before approaching, hand gripped on one of his swords.

"I know the Commander said we could spar between ourselves today but warn me first." He said, his other hand on his cut as sulfur escaped his mouth, "Just, if you want to start a fight, that wasn't a very good first punch."

He rubbed his neck, not really knowing exactly what he said, but stuck to his guns. He's still curious as to why he'd be picked on but that can wait, why did she throw it at him in the first place?

Ruslan
The Furraine grimaced at Vixa's proposition to 'fix' himself up. Although, when he looked down, he couldn't help but notice the undeniable truth that his clothes were, in fact, unsightly. Then again, he'd rather go through Hell itself before having to try another attempt at getting the infernal armor wrapped around his person once more. Just the thought of it made his head ache as he trodded along with the eye-catching woman. Whether or not it was right for him to think this, he couldn't help but wonder what it felt like to pet the fuzzy tail as it wagged back and forth before him, practically provoking him to grab onto it as they made their way into the training room.

Of course, that idea was quickly shut down after Vixa quite literally threw an exploding shuriken at some man that she hadn't even gotten a moment to acquaint herself with. To make matters worse, the man didn't seem too pleased when an exploding shuriken went off right in front of him, giving visible injuries to the side of his face. As the blue-haired spunky person made his way over to the duo, Ruslan couldn't help but look away sheepishly. It wasn't his business, so he wasn't going to be getting in the way if anyone decided to throw down right then and there. If anything, he would've been happy to see the room liven up a bit, all the reading making the place drab and dull in comparison.

What was most surprising to Ruslan, however, was the collectiveness and (sort of) calm composure the human had. Even this big ol' bear would be considerably perturbed by the idea of, again, an explosion being used as a form of greeting. Glaring the man down and sizing him up one last time, he decided that this person might not be half bad. Ruslan had a twisted way of making people seem much nicer than they truly were, but his thoughts were genuine, so he didn't mind brandishing a welcoming smile to the other Guardian. He was going to join their ranks, after all.

"I'm sure it was an accident," Ruslan would say, trying his best to defuse the situation before Vixa decided to take the mockery of her skill to heart. "You know, a slip of the wrist." Waving his hands in a calming gesture, the bear Furraine wondered if speaking up was actually the right idea for the situation. "We're all here to learn, so accidents happen, yeah? Maybe we could all take the time to learn more about each other? We're gonna be working together, after all." Ruslan already knew he was most likely making the situation worse by prolonging the encounter, but at least he was trying his best.

Vixa was about to test out another shuriken when the blue haired man approached her. He seemed less than pleased, and seeing as one of his hands gripped his sword, it was apparent he was taking caution now. His words only amused her, and she crossed her arms, shifting her weight to one side. "Warn you? Do you think the enemy is going to warn you each time they attack?" She pressed, her voice was sharp, yet lacked any true hostility. She wasn't sure if he meant to egg her on with his last comment or not, but Ruslan jumped in right then. Without turning to face him, she processed his words carefully. It wasn't an accident. Then again, it wasn't her intention to particularly start a fight either.

Besides, Vixa wasn't looking to get on anyone's bad side. If this man took offence to her sporadic actions, she would have to fix that. Leaning up towards the blue haired man, she kissed his cheek softly, on the opposite side his cut was on. Stepping back with a small smile, her tail flicked from side to side. "I'm sorry. I hope you'll forgive me." She glanced back at Ruslan. "Ruslan is right. We do need to get to know one another." Her soft voice didn't match the glimmer of mischief in her eyes. Turning to face the blue haired guy once more she flexed her fingers, her claws glistening. "Why don't we have a friendly sparring match then? Tell you what. To make this more interesting, why don't we do a team match? Two on Two. Go on, choose someone from the crowd."

Vixa spun around Ruslan before leaning against him fully. "Ruslan is going to be my partner for this match."

He looked to Vixa, then to Ruslan, then back to Vixa showing actual confusion on his face. "I don't take offense to that, I just wanted a warning before an explosive is thrown in my face." He simply said, being sincere, "Like, I get it, the enemy won't warn me but I doubt I'll be shoved in a data pad when I fight then, right?" He took his hand off his sword and looked to the other that was holding his cheek. A thin and fine line of crimson was on his palm where he was holding it. It didn't both him as he simply sighed to himself. "No hard feelings, like I said, I get it."

"Xero, by the way. You're uh, friendly swordsman who is an ultimate clutz." He said, sort of taking a bow. "I'm not angered easily so yeah. The explosion didn't matter, heh. It was more an excuse to meet someone new."

At the mention of spar, Xero looked between the two yet again and spoke like before. "I choose. . . my other sword." He smirked, "I want to take this alone. Since it's friendly." He took both his swords out and twirled them through his hands, looking as if he's had major practice with them. He swung them behind and held them there. They seemed to flow very naturally. "So like, my data pad basically told me to 'figure it out'. And well. . . I don't know what that means, so like. New experiences. Together. Well. . . I'm gonna get my ass handed to me but whatever, right?" He was smiling like a fool at this point, laughing at how dumb he's acting.

"So? What do you say?" He was currently twirling one of his swords as he spoke, "One on two?"

Ruslan
Ruslan was more stunned by Xero's reaction than by Vixa's piss-poor excuse of an apology. This man must've had a will of steel, because he continued talking without batting an eyelash, giving the whole introduction and everything. Hell, even Ruslan bought into the tough guy act for a moment, truly thinking that they were more than capable of handling both himself and Vixa at once without a problem. At least, until he admitted to his lack of knowledge on his weapons and the self-defeating statement that followed soon after. Ruslan was about to encourage Xero to simply pick someone out of the crowd, but then he realized what was going on.

This cat was playing him like a fiddle. Not only was she holding on to him akin to an owner and their pet, but she was even getting him into this whole idea of having a friendly spar. Yes, the same man that only moments before was brushing his teeth down a corridor. Placing both hands on either one of her shoulders, he would gently push her away, still holding her within his grasp as he spoke to the devious cat Furraine. "Vixa, this isn't what I meant by 'getting to know each other'. It was more along the lines of maybe sitting around and, er, talking. Not, you know, having a sword at my neck. He doesn't even wanna fight us two-on-two, so it might be better if we just back off?" Sure, it was an excuse to get him out of needing to exert himself any more than he currently was, but it was a viable one at that. Not that he'd admit it, but the young cat's safety was on his mind as well.

Then, looking past all the green fur, he would look to Xero, stretching out his arm to them for a handshake. "Ah, by the way, I'm, um, Ruslan. Nice to meet you, Xero." There was a bit of hesitation in his voice, but something was nagging at the back of Ruslan's head, and he needed to ask. "Are you sure you want to fight us both at once?" Ah, what was he asking now of all times? Here he was finally getting out of the situation, but now he was digging a deeper hole for himself. "If you really want, I don't mind," he obviously lied. "I haven't gotten a look at the whatchamacallits, either, so I have no clue what I'm capable of."

His metallic fingertips grazed against Vixa's shoulders even now, Ruslan's lips forming into that of a frown. Maybe the idea wasn't too bad. These were the people that he was going to be working with from here on out and it was only a matter of time before he would be in the same predicament as he was in now. And, while he didn't want to say anything about it in fear that Vixa would simply tease him for it, it was a good way of getting himself out there. He'd be able to make more relationships with an outgoing personality, unlike his typical introverted ways. Not to mention the subtle fact that ruining Vixa's already deteriorated image of him was not the best thing on the poor bear's heart.

"If you're sure about this, then I guess I could join in, too. But don't expct much from me, and I mean it." Finally letting go of the ball of fur, he attempted to rid himself of his armor, only to get more twisted up inside of it. "Also, if you, uh, don't mind. I, um, kind of need help with getting this damn thing off me."

Vixa was beginning to think this guy really was missing some screws in his head. What just happened. He's more friendly than I thought. All the while Ruslan took her by the shoulders and continued to give her somewhat of a lecture. Which, of course she mostly let go in one furry ear and out the other. She knew she had twisted the bear's words around to fit her own definition, and it had been wonderful. The blue haired man, now named Xero, had chosen his other partner to be his sword, and quite frankly this bristled her. Is he trying to be cocky? She came to the conclusion he was either secretly badass or overly stupid. Whatever. She wouldn't complain.

She held her tongue at any of Ruslan's words. Her dismissive facial expression would have sufficed in expressing her disapproval of his suggestion to back off. As he shifted her around to shake Xero's hand and introduce himself properly, Vixa tilted her head in a bit of curiosity as he continued to talk himself into the idea of a spar. He's not okay with it, yet he's acting like he wants to. What a strange bear indeed. It looked like Vixa would get her spar after all. Ruslan's hold on her loosened, but the feel of metal grazing across her body was still apparent. She allowed herself to be swayed this way and that. If he wanted to, it would be an easy feat to toss her across the room. It was a good thing cats always landed on their paws.

Vixa smiled at Xero, her ears flicking. "You can call me Vixa. A two on one sounds fun. I won't go easy on you. So fight your hardest!" Ruslan finally released her in attempts to remove some of his armor. When he asked for help, Vixa turned back to Xero with a commanding look. As if she expected him to aid Ruslan in his endeavor. Because that just seemed like a lot of effort for Vixa herself to bother interfering with. Besides. To be honest, she was half certain she wouldn't be able to even lift the man's armor.

"I don't expect anyone to go easy on anyone else here," He shrugged, "And nice to meet you two, it's nice knowing others who just don't know who I am." In no way was Xero trying to be cocky, it's just that's how his words rolled off his tongue. Of course he was confident in what he was saying and the challenge he was taking. In fact, the bear didn't seem to be in his worries. The Cat's shurikens were. If he could just keep up with his own speed and agility, then this should be an easy fight. 'And now to take the liberty in making nicknames for these two.' A smirk was placed on his face

"And Commander Kitt, would you like me to help your friend here with his armor?" He asked her in a jokingly manner, walking past her and to Ruslan. "I am guessing you just want to take this off, so, one second Rus."

Xero put both swords back into his sheathes and helped Ruslan with his armor, lifting up and making enough room for him to slide through. As much of a show off Xero isn't, it sure seemed like that was exactly what he was doing in front of Commander Kitt. After lifting the armor, he turned back to her and looked down at her. "What other types of shurikens do you have, by the way? Because I want to know if any of them can potentially kill me before I go in, swords over my head like a knight of Arabia."

Ruslan
His round ears perked up at the pet name Xero had given him. Rus? The bear couldn't complain, and if anything, it made him feel like he truly made a new friend throughout the course of this odd and humorous event. He was, however, more interested in the fact that Xero seemed to maneuver his armor around in such a professional manner. It was true that Ruslan was holding up most of the bulky armor since it was rather heavy, and if anyone attempted to truly try and carry all of the weight themselves, they most likely would've been squished along with it. Unless, of course, it was the big bear that was doing so. Either way, Xero proved to be more than helpful in his guidance, quickly taking off Ruslan's personal prison and helping set it all onto the floor.

Ruslan would look down to the blue-haired genius and tell him, "You're a good man, Xero. We need more people like you." With a much more forceful pat on the shoulder than what was necessary (due to the bear's lack of restraint in most cases and his lack of awareness for his own strength), Ruslan would beam down at him with a bright and cheery expression. As for the cute nickname he gave Vixa, Ruslan decided to take a moment to thoroughly remember the joke. It was comedy gold, after all. Without further instruction, the abnormally tall man allowed Xero to talk it out with Vixa, deciding that she was much more entertaining to speak with rather than the clumsy being Ruslan set himself out to be.

This gave enough time for him to get a good view of the other Guardians and how their interactions were going. Luckily, it seemed people were starting to make pairs once they saw the boisterous and obnoxious Vixa make a ruckus from earlier. Whether or not he enjoyed being viewed as her partner in crime, the bear could only snigger to himself at the thought of how ridiculous the two must've seemed. His main attentions, however, were on the solemn man and his purple-haired companion. The man seemed to be staring daggers into Vixa, while the other was completely engrossed in their work. If it weren't for Xero's asking of Commander Kitt's weaponry, perhaps Ruslan would've forgotten the fact he was just about to get into a spar in a few moments.

"Eh, I don't think even she knows that much," he commented, glancing to Vixa with an apprehensive gaze. "She's a loose cannon," he would follow up, forgetting that he was talking aloud. Maybe it wasn't something to say to her face, but something about Vixa's actions put him on constant alert. It was a similar feeling to one being placed right next to a bomb that was at a constant state of possibly blowing up without any notice or warning. Be it better or for worse, Ruslan considered it more of a blessing that he wasn't on the other end of her blade. No point in having to deal with a trigger happy, and arguably adorable, cat girl.

Finally it seemed everyone was getting down to business in their various ways, and as such, Hikari decided she'd join in on the fun. Swinging her swords back into their sheaths, she flipped her large sniper rifle into her hands and double checked to be sure the rounds were energy based. "Perfect, I should be able to shoot this in here then..." Placing the butt of the large gun on her shoulder, she took a stable stance and aimed it in the direction of the large bear guy, and right before pulling the trigger, yelled out to him. "Hope you don't mind if I'm blue's partner!" *BANG*

Of course it was still an extremely high caliber sniper rifle, and as such the bear was totally going to stagger at the very least, and feel the bruise the energy weapon was bound to leave on him. With her one rifle shot off, she wouldn't be able to do it again, well actually she probably could with her skill and at such close range, but she much preferred to use her swords. Swinging the rifle to her back once more, she took hold of her two swords, the lighter in her left hand, and the heavier in her right. "I'm curious, on a scale of 1 to 10 how much did that hurt you specifically? That way I know if I can shoot anyone else without breaking them..."
Hope you don't mind if I'm blue's partner!

"Genesis could you run diagnostics on the armor?" Diagnostics have already been run. All equipment is at 100% functionality. "Thanks. Could you notify the transport guy to send my armor to the training floor?" Done. "Perfect. That's all for now Genesis." Understood. This was a typical day for Nyr, nothing too special to him, not that anything was considered special to him. It wasn't that he didn't care, though that would be half true, it was simply that he saw no reason to celebrate being competent enough to stab someone when ordered to do so. As he walked through the halls, he was in his typical sweatpants and over sized hoodie, a sucker in his mouth as he walked. "Genesis?" Yes Kuro? "Could you provide me with the number of other recruits in the training room right now?" There are six other recruits. You will make seven. "How about my armor, has transport delivered yet?" Yes. Your armor is waiting when you arrive. Nyr took the rest of his walk in silence, no need to talk to Genesis, and no want to talk to the others when he got there.

When he finally did arrive, he heard the sound of a gunshot. High caliber sniper rifle, strong enough to break bones easily with a non-fatal impact outside that room. Who could be wielding such a powerful gun? Or shooting it at such close range? Putting those facts aside, he slipped into his medium combat suit. "Genesis, run preliminary systems check." Understood. After a few moments of silence as he cracked his neck, Genesis responded. Preliminary checks complete. All systems functional and ready for overclock. Good. Nothing was breaking. "Thank you Genesis." He needed to give Genesis a personality upgrade. As much as he was thankful the AI was simply a super advanced computer, their talks became boring very frequently. He picked up the energy rifle and energy pistol, holstering the pistol while tossing the rifle onto his shoulder. "Well, I guess it's time we join the party right?" Of course Genesis didn't respond, and Nyr still had a straight face. "Yeah, I thought so..."

Walking into the room, he saw the girl with the sniper rifle. Of course. Hikari Yumi, daughter of a high ranking guardian and insider when it came to new equipment being developed. She was known to be good with swords and sniper rifles, so it made perfect logical sense that she was the one to fire such a powerful weapon. Looking around, he recognized others just barely, only knowing what they were good with rather than any personal details about them. "Genesis, could you run a threat scan on who would be the most dangerous individual in this room. Include all variables." Understood. Almost seconds later the AI gave him an answer. The green hair individual known as Vixa would be the most dangerous individual in 71% of situations. The blue haired individual known as Xero would be most dangerous in 5% of situations. The black haired individual known as Dren would be most dangerous in 7% of situations. The white haired individual known as Hikari would be most dangerous in 5% of situations. The purple haired individual known as Mireya would be most dangerous in 10% of situations. The individual known as Ruslan would be most dangerous in 1% of situations. "Wait, 1%? You've never had anything be at less than 3%, where's this 1% coming from?" The one known as Ruslan is extremely lazy and requires a direct hit in order to incapacitate a foe. "Oh. I see... he really is just a one hit wonder then. That's a shame."
Oh. I see... he really is just a one hit wonder then.

Vixa blinked at the sudden nickname given to her by Xero. It was her first, and even if it was meant to tease her, she couldn't help the feeling of bliss that welled up inside her. Commander. She allowed the word to travel through her mind like Ruslan's comments from earlier in the hallway. Her cheeks tinted a soft pink as she cupped them with her own hands, swaying from side to side seemingly in her own little world. It was a great habit of hers to take only what she wanted to hear from others.

Xero seemed to handle Ruslan's armor with ease, and the action didn't go unnoticed by Vixa. What did however, were the growing amount of eyes they were attracting with their banter. She was completely involved in what was taking place in front of her. This Xero guy had potential, and if he could carry that armor without a care in the world, she would have to watch herself as not to get pinned. As he finished up, she couldn't be sure if he was genuinely being helpful or if he was a showoff. Ruslan seemed to believe the latter, offering his undying thanks. Good man. More people like him? Vixa knew better than anyone that everyone wasn't always who they seemed to be. Ruslan always took the good in others. That was what made him the perfect ally.

But this perfect ally was about to become a little less perfect as he answered Xero's question, originally directed at her. But in a way, he was correct. Her fur bristled and she pouted. Loose canon?! But she calmed after a few more seconds, considering the comment as a whole. A sinister laugh escaping her lips. Yes. Perhaps I am. Pressing a button along her shoe fitting, her once blue claws lit up a striking teal color. She was a fan of LED lights. "The right question would be, what can't get you killed." Her gray eyes began to cloud over, when the sound of a bullet fired. Not at her, but at Ruslan. She could have deflected it for him, but others were not of her concern. Even in a team match. Her expectations were high, and she chose Ruslan as her partner not just for convenience, but purposefully. His size would be able to withstand this much pain. And if he couldn't he would only disappoint her.

Turning to face the source of the shot, her heart skipped a beat. Hikari. That's really her. Suddenly this became more than a battle to waste time. Now she would be able to witness just what Mrs. Yumi's flesh and blood could accomplish. As she shortened the distance between them, Vixa could feel her claws itching with anticipation. As she asked Ruslan to rate his pain, Vixa merely leaned down towards the bear and sweetly spoke, "Ruslan. If you make mistakes like that on the battlefield you might die." Mistakes as in, not getting the hell out of the way when someone shoots at you. Her lack of concern might have come across as harsh, but she's a manipulative sociopath. So there is that. "A proper 2 on 2 it is."

I'm tired of waiting. Without warning, she leaped into the air, her bio enhancements shooting her higher up than average. Flipping mid air, she drew two more explosive shuriken onto the ground to cause a realm of momentary smoke to fog the area. As she returned to the ground she wasted no time as she lunged at Xero with her claws, flipping and bending all around him. Staying put for too long put her at risk. Her claws were met with his blade. "My shuriken aren't the only things you should be worried about. One scratch and you won't be able to stand for long." Her vague description lingered as she leaped back once more, getting the feel for the armor around her legs. Being up against two guardians whose expertise was in wielding dual swords, Vixa couldn't be more pleased.

Xero looked over towards Hikari and gave a sort of smile. . . Even though his ears were now ringing even worse from the rifle. He observed her for a few seconds, then finally spoke. "Your shoe's untied. Also the two swordsman on a team? That sounds great. Let's do it." He took his own swords back out and twirled them in his spot, listening to Vixa. He took note of the pink cheeks from his pet name and did a small bow

"A proper 2 on 2 it is."

Xero heard it in her voice as his head lifted up. He stopped swinging and brought his left sword up in front of his face, ready to block just in case. And sure enough, he predicted correctly. The claw locked with his sword and a friendly smile crept to his face as Vixa told him about the claws. "Ah, so you're all about having fun, Commander. Well, let's figure this out then. Count down, anyone?" He sort of rose his voice so everyone in the room could hear him.
