Dame of the Moon's Darkness
Roleplay Type(s)
I figured we can combine, the lore section and the chat section into one section as the lore, for now, is set in stone and likely won't change anytime soon.

Human Type Zombies

Walker - These are your normal run-of-the-mill zombies, stumbling around looking for fresh blood and meat.
Weak Points - Head or neck to kill.

Runner - These are the faster zombies that can run and jump, having more control over their bodies than Walkers.
Weak Points - Head to kill. Legs to drop, they can still crawl but aren't as fast.

Shader - These are zombies that for some reason can only move during the nighttime, they burn away if they are in the sun. They have perfect eyesight at night and are a mix between Walkers and Runners.
Weak points - Head to kill or any form of light, including a flashlight or fire. The only thing that doesn't affect them is the moon for some strange reason.

Bulker - These zombies are ones that have somehow grown to be huge and strong, they could tear a human in half if they wanted.
Weak Points - Head or spine to kill.

Animal Type Zombies
Most animal-type zombies are ones that have either eaten an infected body or been bitten by a human zombie. The great thing about the animal zombies is the fact that you don't turn if bitten, the bad thing is they give you a major fever you have to fight through to survive.

Birds - Most of these die, but a few do survive and they usually struggle to fly properly. Their weak points are their heads or necks, super easy to kill.

Felines - These are stealthy and smart, however, they roam alone making them easier to take down. Strike their head to kill them.

Bears - Not smart at all, but super hard to drop unless you are able to completely cut or shoot their heads off.

Canines - These aren't smart nor are they dumb, they run in packs and their numbers are what make them a major threat. Weakness is their heads, you wanna drop them for sure aim for the eyes.

Reptiles - They are vicious and super aggressive, the scales of their bodies somehow getting harder. The hard plating of larger reptiles can be used as armor. Weak points are their underbelly and eyes and inside their mouths.

This all looks great to me :). I figure that as the roleplay goes on we can add small snippets about different locations and the state of those locations as our characters encounter them.

The City
The city in which Cain and Angel now dwell once had a name, but that name has been long forgotten now in the ruins and death throes of the world. In the early days of the apocalypse, Cain travelled alone, going from place to place and location to location without having any clear goal or location in mind. Truth be told, in those days, Cain was bereft of hope or reason. He was merely delaying the inevitable, inasmuch as it was a minor miracle in itself that he was still alive and had not succumbed to the madness that came with the disintegration of the world.

When he came across the concrete jungle, he was not sure what to think. A city perched on the edge of a great river. Inside that city, broken street met shattered walkway, and as Cain walked it there was nothing in the way of life or others. Indeed, not even the zombies were here to be seen, a fact that caused him no end of confusion. Surely here, on the ruins of a once highly populated city there should have been countless zombies of different type walking the streets? Around him were shop storefronts, both small and large, above which were abandoned apartments. To his initial delight, he was able to travel unimpeded in what must have once been a commercial district that was positioned in a large semi-circular shape that both started and ended at the waterfront. Running off this semi-circular district were a veritable maze of smaller streets and dark alleyways.

As Cain gathered up foodstuffs to begin with without interruption, he was lulled into a false sense of security. Taking his eye off his surroundings, Cain was ambushed by a large group of walkers, and that would have been the end of him, had it not been for the direct intervention of Angel, who showed him a path down one of the alleyways that led into a disused apartment block. Inside the apartment block, she had taken shelter in one of the uppermost flats, blocking off the floors below her through the use of old furniture and other objects that she had used to obstruct the floors and other passageways the walkers could have navigated.

Of course she had not left herself stranded, she knew of a route that would bypass the obstructions she had set, one that the walkers were not aware of.

The Cure
In the early days of the apocalypse, the government committed whatever resources and money they had available to research a cure to the zombie infection. Flying in the most talented and brilliant scientific minds in the country to a top secret research facility, these scientists worked all the hours humanly possible to try and devise a solution to the infection. Dark whispers and whispers insist though that that research facility was brought down from within, from certain agents who did not wish to see a cure produced for their own unimaginable reasons.

Yet the facility, at the very end, was successful. A circular group of scientists believed that they had devised a formula that would not just prevent, but reverse the effects of zombie infection. Using a test subject at the facility, they injected them with a dose of the serum and were delighted to see that it did, indeed, reverse the effects of infection. It could not cure those who already had become a zombie, but those who had not succumbed to the infection could be saved.

That night armed operatives stormed the facility and massacred the scientists, setting fire to the laboratory and burning it all to the ground. There was only one survivor of the attack, a young scientist by the name of Tara Rosencourt, and only she now possesses the knowledge to create the serum, if she had the materials and resources to do so.

If she survived, that is.
