  Brynn is a kind, sweet natured girl who always put others before herself. She is a compassionate, empathic and wears her heart on her sleeve. She hates to see people upset or hurt and will always try to cheer them up.
  
  Brynn can be quite stubborn and its hard to talk her out of things once her mind is made up.
  
  She is loyal, caring and always there for her friends. She comes across as fun loving and care free and doesn't take herself too seriously however when the moment calls for it she can step up and become serious.

  Brynn was born to Michael and Jolene Peterson. She had a pretty standard life growing up, two present parents, a white picket fence home and everything she could ever wish for.   When Brynn turned 10 years ago, the cracks became to big to remain hidden and it was discovered that her father was cheating on her mother with his receptionist. A woman who is now, Brynn's step-mother - not that she visits them. When her parents divorced and the reason became clear, Brynn cut all contact with her father, she has now started to kind of talk to him again in the last few years but she knows the relationship will never be as it was since she still finds it too hard to forgive him. Brynn's mother is now sole guardian of her and she works long tedious hours to support the pair meaning that she is never really home anymore. Brynn loves her mother and in all honesty with everything going on with her powers and the dangers Brynn is happy her mother works so much.   • Comes with the height but shes very quiet on her feet and good at sneaking up on people unintentionally most of the time.

  Pax is your stereotypical golden boy. Straight As. Captain of the Basketball Team. Future Prom King. And yet that is just one of the many masks he wears. Aloof and impersonal. Pax struggles to let people get close and keeps all but a select few at an arm's length. Cold to a fault nearly. He does not play well with others and has the tendency to take in everything on his own rather than asking for help.
  
  
  
  Unshakeable. Pax has a dangerous confidence that borders on indifference. In the most high pressure of situations he can be depended on to be the most calm headed. Pax does not bare his heart openly nor easily unless he feels a strong connection and for him that is a rare occurrence. Hard to gain his confidence but rather easy to lose it or never earn it at all.
  
  
  
  A strong almost rigid sense of morality. Capable of great kindness but would rather people believed he was indifferent to it all due to many unfortunate circumstances in his youth. To Pax to be openly kind is a sort of weakness that people will readily exploit.
  
  
  
  A dry wit. Pax's sense of humor is so muted that many believe it nonexistent. His sarcastic barbs come across as face value statements to many as his tone rarely changes.
  
  
  
  Above all Pax is steadfast in his loyalty and sees that as his moment commendable trait. For those worthy enough to gain his loyalty he does not waver in their defense or their protection.   For the first seven years of Pax's life he experienced great misery as he was shuffled from foster home to foster home. Pax never knew his real parents and spent most of those nights in the beds he shared with other children praying for them to come and free him from hell. After a while he stopped praying. Tears no longer came. Hell had become his reality. His light dimmed to flickers.
  
  
  
  At the age of 8 Pax was shipped off to one more home, expectations non-existent. Believing this to be another pit stop he could not hide his surprise when he was told he'd been formally adopted by the Arcturus Family.
  
  
  
  Slowly adjusting from the hell of the foster system to the warm and loving embrace of the Arcturus family, Pax thrived. A little of that lost light returned. A little of that faith restored.
  
  
  
  Cassius Arcturus, a former ward of the state himself had pushed for it as a way of paying forward for his own luck at being adopted into a loving family. It was his infectious laugh that brought the long abandoned smile to Pax's face.
  
  
  
  Victoria Arcturus treated Pax as if he were her own child from the moment he stepped through their door. It was her attentiveness and affection that allowed Pax to cry again but not at his misfortune but for the boy he and the person he could be.
  
  
  
  Shea Arcturus dotted on Pax almost immediately despite being only a few months older than him. The biological daughter of the Arcturus family held no ill will towards the new addition and in fact welcomed it as a reprieve from all the attention she was given as an only child. It was her kindness and loyalty that allowed Pax to open his heart, if only a little bit, to let others in.
  
  
  
  In the nine years since his adoption Pax never lost the edge that was forged by the fire of his youth but its sharpness blunted little by little overtime and it allowed him to find himself and who wanted to be. Gone was the boy who cried himself to sleep wishing for strangers to save him.   His grades improved drastically. He began to participate in sports and thrived there as well. He also found it easier to make friends, at least the closest thing he could make as a friend. It was around this time Cassius brought him a telescope for his 10th birthday.   A very extroverted person, Leo is very much a people person; always ready to socialize, meet new people and, most importantly, have some fun. Speaking his mind is something he's not afraid of, and mincing his words is something he's never heard of. He's a big advocate for truth, and gives his honest opinion on anything when asked; be it positive or negative. This doesn't come from a place of rudeness or indifference however, quite the contrary; Leo's "no lying" policy is rooted in care and love, as he wishes to be fully transparent with his friends and expects the same from them. When he is upset at someone he cares about, he prefers to clear things up right away, as opposed to letting the tension marinate. He'll tell you he didn't like that you did X, Y and Z, and open a space for communication with the other party, in hopes of resolving whatever made them upset with eachother as quickly as possible. Overall, he's a very loyal friend, willing to go to war for those he thinks dearly of and always ready to defend them whenever they need someone to stand up for them. He was always an extroverted child; always taking the protagonist role in the school plays and being one of the most contested kids at recess.   As you grow up your own and others' innocence begin to dissipate, and this hit Leo like a truck. While his unique look and different mannerisms had previously made him a target of interest and curiosity, this target transformed into one of exclusion and hatefulness instead; whether it was the weird stares he'd get while walking down the hall or the side comments other students would whisper to eachother while not-so-discreetly looking his way, Leo began to feel affected by the constant mean spiritedness directed at him. Ever the hothead, he began getting into more and more fights at school, even coming home with a black eye sometimes. This caused a strain in his relationship with his mother, who failed to understand and reprimanded his way of handling things, and wished he would take a more "peaceful" approach instead. His father didn't share the same opinion as her however, and his relatioship with his son strengthened throughout his middle school years; respecting how Leo stood up for himself and didn't let others get away with messing with him.

  Now, Leo's high flares have somewhat cooled off, a wave of (youthful) maturity crashing against him as he grew into an almost young adult. Trouble didn't just magically stop following him around however, as he started attending parties, getting his first taste of alcohol, skipping a class or two here and there... the typical, in his eyes at least. Him and his mother's relationship is back to how it was before, after an extremely long unpacking session initiated by Leo, who made sure to express how he didn't feel her much-needed support during his younger years.   Ryland can only be described as a piece of work. He’s snarky, bold and doesn’t have a filter, tending to say whatever he wants without thinking first. He has a penchant for dark humor and sarcasm, which can get in the way during serious situations. His lack of a filter has also landed him and the group in a few sticky situations, but he has a hard time taking accountability for how his big mouth gets them in trouble.
  
  He comes across as confident, bordering on arrogant, and doesn’t like to keep people close, scared to lose them. He’s broody and prone to mood swings and likes to distance himself at times. This isn’t anything personal, it’s a self defense mechanism he developed to avoid becoming too close to the people that matter to him the most. It never works.
  
  Despite all of this, he can be sweet and is always honest unless it comes down to something about him. He’s honestly just trying to figure everything out and feels a little helpless, unsure of how to navigate adulthood much less having mystical powers.
  
  He cares too much and feels too reply and he hates it. He wishes he could just turn his emotions off. Turn his powers off. He hates the responsibility. When people see good, they expect good and he doesn’t feel very worthy all of the time.

  It wasn’t long before the two divorced, leaving Ry in the custody of his mother.   Sophomore year, Ry got into smoking and drinking and partying, all things he could do to chase away the emotions that were constantly eating at him. He got into fights with people at school, skipped classes and stayed out until the dawn.

  Beckett has barely become more than "the new girl" thus far, however she is known to be nonchalant and laidback, though perhaps a bit enigmatic. Best described as an ambivert, Beckett has times where she needs to be alone, but can be quite a bold and playful presence in a group especially due to her wit. Beckett is unapologetically herself, standing by her morals and decisions but also a bit too stubborn, unwilling to see other peoples' side once her mind is set.
  
  She is impulsive, playful and daring - willing to try new things without a second thought, and take the leap. This stems from a sense of nihilism, a belief nothing matters too much, so often she's in the face of danger or harm but doesn't really mind, as long as she's going out living and trying. At least, in everything but addressing emotions - her own, or others, as she's not adept in digesting them or helping others due to her evident discomfort. She always cares significantly more than she allows to be seen, as though obscuring it allows her to avoid how much she focuses on helping others and excessive generosity over herself.
  
  Beckett is also a touch of an overachiever, seeking to forge her own path through academics, further contributing to a lack of care for her wellbeing, though in this case, over success rather than general impulsivity.   Valencia Ivy Beckett was born to Lucia Martinez and Gabriel Beckett in New York. They swiftly got married, dedicated to raising their daughter despite their humble origins. Any stress they faced was not felt by the young Valencia, who was merely showered in love and well fed. Though as she approached eight, her father fell ill and his ability to work diminished rapidly, leaving them tighter for cash and her mother working harder. And such is the case with life, everything became overwhelming and their world crumbled, a messy divorce and soon after, passing of her father. For the young girl, it was all so fast, blending into a blur.
  
  Lucia, with her increased hours, became close to the patriarch of the rich family she cleaned and catered for, and much sooner than Valencia would have liked, the two became a couple, and her family was blended with a world she did not understand. Valencia started going by Beckett. She didn't like how her name fit so perfectly into the rest of the blended family's extravagance and upper class wealth.   Though, Beckett would learn, for she was always good at that. Replicate mannerisms, and integrate herself into the upper-class circles, especially once she began attending the schools. Beckett capitalised on the better education she got from her mother marrying a rich man, but was always wary - they'd always be outsiders, no matter how well she camouflaged. Above all, Beckett learned to despise the fake despite having to participate in it; though eventually she'd let up the act and found in her overachieving and charismatic personality was a place in the popular groups.
  
  In fact, the girl felt on top of the world, which, given hindsight, meant that it had to come crashing down again. Rumors spread like wildfire, that she'd slept with the it girl's boyfriend, tearing down both their reputations. The harassment became so extensive, though, that she would have to move schools, but it would always follow, despite being untrue. If anything, Beckett came to care less and less about what anyone thought of her, but also grew reckless and got repeatedly into trouble.
  
  Then, things would crumble further. A young new maid caught her step-father's eyes, and Lucia was quickly dropped, under the guise of love and also, he wanted nothing to do with Beckett; their life in his family was over. How her mother didn't see it coming when it's exactly what she had done, years prior, is certainly beyond Beckett. Somehow, this divorce was less messy than the one from when she was younger, though Beckett supposed that was because her mother never really had a say in it all, anyway.

And now Beckett, as much as she valued independence, had to rely on them to help guide her and her budding abilities.   Weylan is a soft spoken, Type A person with a penchant for heavily restraining his emotions at all times.
  
  Most people upon meeting him would describe him as 'quiet', as the wielder of earth has a tendency to avoid speaking from mild social anxiety. Most of the time he feels as though a barrier disconnects him from people he's unfamiliar with, making it hard to introduce himself or be communicative and friendly towards people he doesn't already know. Those who take the time to let his barriers melt away find him to be actually rather well spoken and articulate because of how much effort he put's into expressing himself to the people he finds comfort in being familiar with. His quiet demeanor is something he cherishes, as he feels it let's his words have more impact and meaning than if he were to just say what was on his mind all the time.
  
  However, his tendency to limiting his words can cause tension between him and the people he cares about, as he is one to often say he's fine or eschew his own feelings for the feelings of others, even when he's become visibly upset. This is because he has an incredibly aversion to expressing his true emotions, especially when he's incredibly angry or upset about something. This is because his response to getting powers was to undertake an incredible amount of self-discipline and rigidity in how he uses his abilities as the physicality of his element can become very dangerous if he "goes all out". His strength and the impact of being able to shatter stone makes any violence he inflicts massive. He takes great pains to not hurt others and be wary of his own size and presence when using the element of earth, and as a result he's become a bit of a gentle giant.
  
  Weylan is often lost in his own thoughts at times, one to exist in his own head and entertain himself with his own thoughts to the point he can sometimes be inconsiderate of others when he comes up with a solution to a problem he hasn't made public knowledge. His tendency to exist inside of his own head makes him prone to having very neurotic and harsh rules about how things have to be done around him, to the point some would even say he has obsessive compulsions. How his shoes are tied, how his meals are prepared, what route he goes on when he goes for a walk, his routine is heavily regimented and consecrated to the point that tiny miscalculations and accidents can throw his entire groove into disarray.
  
  But this isn't as though to say Weylan is a counter-dependent control freak who refuses to learn or care about others and their quirks. He in fact very dearly loves his friends even if he struggles to communicate that in words. He has an undying loyalty when it comes to the people he acres about matched only by his tenacity and persistence at overcoming even the greatest obstacles in his path.   Weylan was born the younger of two brothers to a couple consisting of his mom (a Research Zoologist) and his dad (a Marine Conservationist) that had met in college while simultaneously pursuing their degrees. The couple settled down to live in Seattle for much of Weylan's formative years, but starting to travel more and more across the continental U.S for their jobs at various State Parks. Weylan's older brother Thomas was everything one could ask for in a sibling a few years older and wiser: he consistently made time to hang out with his little brother, protected him from bullies at school and helped him with homework when he had the chance. Thomas' future was and still is incredibly bright, which made being his younger brother all the harder as he grew up. Thomas was to become a Molecular Biologist at Washington State, graduated from his High School Class Valedictorian, played Cello/Bass in his school's Jazz Band, was a part of Student Government, became engaged to his highschool girlfriend his sophomore year of college.   It didn't help that Weylan figured out how different he was from other guys at such a young age. His burgeoning sexuality made him feel often like an outcast around his peers whom he already found extremely difficult to connect with. But the pressure from his parents continued to surmount as he started attending middle school. Every attempt at making friends seemed to fail, and without his brother in his life, the bullying he felt got worse and worse. he refused to tell his parents out of principle, feeling as though he'd cause more trouble than the whole situation was worth, but as he spoke less, the teasing got more serious and even physical.
  
  He often refused to fight back no matter what level of instigation his Jr. High bullies used on him. Until one day he was just pushed too far. In a fit of rage, his fist went flying and he broke a boy's jaw after sending him flying towards concrete. The situation was massively serious, and it ended in Weylan attending juvie for a very brief stint because of the charges the other boy's parents pressed with prejudice. Afterward, he became less and less concerned with trying to keep up with his older brother as it felt as though that truly ruined whatever shot he had with impressing his parents.   After joining highschool he was given the freedom to do whatever it was he wanted to do. People didn't know who he was, his parents just wanted him to stay safe.   As a child, Briar was brought up by a loving father and a mother who always kept a distance. She suffered from terrible postpartum depression and never fully came back from it, leaving a strained relationship between her and her daughter. Briar's dad always came to the rescue though when Melanie was being too hard on their daughter, sticking up for the child in any way he could. Eventually, Briar's mother left in the middle of the night with nothing more than a note saying how she'd always love Mark, Briar's father.
  
  So, it was just Briar and her dad which made the two close to inseparable. Mark was his daughter's number one fan at everything she did, from swim meets to dance competitions, Briar was and always would be a star in his eyes. The two have annual vacations and trips that they take as a duo, never tiring of each other.   Once high school came around, Briar had to drop out of some of her hobbies and sports due to the pressure to succeed as well as her anxiety getting worse. She did audition for the dance team though and quickly became the shining star. As such Briar found herself quickly climbing the ranks of the student body and eventually getting invited to parties and out of school activities. She loved the new social circles and friends she had though, which is how she met her boyfriend, Max Wallows.
  
  Max was a soccer player and quickly caught Briar's eyes at a party one night. He was in a smoke circle and while Briar had never tried weed before, she wanted to be noticed. So, she smoked with the guys, getting to know them all but ending up only in one of their beds at the end of the bight; Max's.   Briar was completely and totally enamored with Max and could see the two in it for the long haul, however that all changed after she got into a car accident with a group of acquaintances from school. It was a normal day at Max's house when the two began fighting about something stupid, he left his room and Briar went out onto his balcony, tapping her acrylics against a potted plant. Immediately it began to grow, flowers blooming along it and Briar knew something was off. The more she learned about her newfound magic though, the more she was able to control it.
  
  Now though, the main six must be teachers of their own to the three new elementals they've found. Since the year they discovered what was going on, Briar has broken up with her boyfriend out of fear of hurting him or putting him in the line of fire. If she could do the same with her dad, Briar would in a heartbeat. She's not the rebel that'll spray-paint an orphanage or egg an elderly neighbor's house, but she doesn't have a problem with making BMX tracks out of abandoned construction sites or setting fires in rural landfills. She lives by the belief that whatever she does is fine, as long as she's not hurting anyone; even if it's not considered 'okay' by societal standards, she doesn't see any harm in it.
  
  While Cal originally acted out as a way to garner people's attention, see their reactions, make her life just a bit more interesting than the stock image it had always been, she's found a sort-of refuge in her rebellious behaviors, a freedom in not worrying about being chained down in her own idea of perfection, nor her idea of complete punk anarchy. She lives apart from either side of the spectrum, switching in-between however she likes. She finds solace that, at any given moment, she could make herself seem like a straight-A poster child or a lawless parent's nightmare, and you wouldn't be able to tell otherwise.
  
  Cal is fiercely protective- though rarely over people. She's protective over ideas, over her own thoughts and opinions, with such fervor that she was often labelled 'unhinged'.   There really, truly isn't much to say about Calliope's earliest memories. She lives in a quaint two-story house on Pommel and Mabry, born to Liam and Alexandra Carter and the stormiest day of that year. All her early-education teachers reported exemplary learning abilities and an exuberant personality, suggested she'd be tested as gifted. The promise of going far was an exciting one for Liam and Alexandra, for up to now Calliope would have nothing to inherit but a few dusty photo albums and, by any luck, the quaint old house they'd lived in. There were no signs of a looming divorce, no secret scandals haunting the progenitors of the family, no deaths or dire illnesses or threats of the collapse of the family entirely. For all intents and purposes, it was a completely conflict-free life.
  
  Calliope hated it.
  
  There weren't any signs- Calliope simply skipped the one hundredth and twenty-second day of fifth grade. It was the fifteenth of February, a frigid and blustery Wednesday where no little girl had any business walking around by her lonesome. The previous day, chocolates had been exchanged, cheesy movies had been viewed, and Calliope had received a sloppily-drawn heart from the fourth-cutest boy in her class. This day, she'd left the school after her mom had dropped her off at the main gate, traversing the winding streets, through the rich neighborhoods and the 'bad' side of town, bought hot chocolate with a handful of change she'd swiped from the glove compartment of her mother's car, and sat by the coast to watch the waves lazily lap at the pale sands of the California beach. No search team had been called, nor were the police, for Calliope had arrived back at school on-time for her mother to pick her up, as usual. When her mother had asked her what she'd done that day, she certainly didn't expect the response she'd received.
  
  When Calliope's parents had asked her why she'd done it, Calliope didn't answer. Not because she was embarrassed or afraid of punishment- quite the opposite. The answer, to Calliope, at least, was obvious. She wanted to see their reactions. She wanted to see them cry and scream and break things, as her friends told her would happen if they'd ever skipped school. See, such a conflict-free life had a sort of negative impact on a young Calliope's development- not only did she not know how to deal with it, but some strange part of her actually craved it, if only to see what would happen. The reaction she'd received, however, was not what she'd expected. She'd received no yells or threats from her parents, but simply a sitting down and a stern talking-to on why her education was important, and how wandering the town without supervision was dangerous. Calliope, though, saw this as permission to continue this behavior- and a challenge to see how far she could take it.
  
  Two months later, Calliope skipped school again, taking her bike to the construction site on the far side of town where the group of local high school misfits spent their days, racing and doing tricks on the wrecked pipes and cement ramps. The older kids saw Calliope as a source of entertainment at first, just a cute little kid trying her hardest- until she proved to be somewhat of a natural talent, and even more skilled than some of the group members. When she returned home later that day, she'd received yet another stern lecture, if a bit more exasperated than the previous time. Calliope wasn't satisfied yet, though- sixth, seventh, eighth grade she skipped, she snuck out, she'd return at odd hours of the night, pushing her parents further and further until they'd finally reached a breaking point. Calliope wasn't thrilled at seeing them upset, but, hey, she'd finally gotten what she'd wanted.
  
  Dozens of shrink appointments and inconclusive tests later, Calliope was diagnosed with being nothing more than a rebellious teenager. However, to her parent's surprised, it seemed as though Calliope had gotten over this rebellious streak almost overnight. No more calls from school, returning in the middle of the night, traipsing across the bad parts of town- at least, as far as they knew. They simply assumed Calliope had been shaking by all the therapist appointments, but, in reality, Calliope didn't see reason for any more conflict. She'd gotten the reaction she'd craved, and anything else was just unnecessary. Obviously, she didn't stop her hobby of being a disappointment- she'd gotten a taste of freedom, and wasn't about to give it up so easy- but she was smart enough to keep her grades high to keep her parents from being suspicious, and had a knack for being so discreet that she made it out to be as though she was a perfectly compliant angel.   Cal's high school experience can best be described as that of a social misfit, with connections to everyone and no one at the same time. She could go from sitting with the 'popular' kids one day, to slumming it with the smokers and sanctioned 'losers' the next. She'd be invited to parties without the assumption she'd show up, only to arrive at a party across town hosted by someone she didn't even know. She got a high off the sense of freedom her absolute apathy gave her, and never felt a particular need to be weighed down by set-in-stone relationships. Of course, this didn't keep her from holding her own rather strong opinions on what she refused to do. she'd have a drink, but not drink. She'd take a hit, but not take the vape or blunt. She covered herself in semi-permanent tattoos that changed every other week, seemingly with her shifts in perceived personality. A pure enigma.
  
  It was one of these parties she'd been barely invited to, arriving an hour late with grease and dirt-caked jeans and a semi-formal blouse. It was a typical night- watching ridiculous teens playing spin-the-bottle after far too many shots, escaping to the patio to escape the stink of weed only to fall into the smell of cheap cigs, and giving off the impression that she was simultaneously mildly entertained and utterly bored.
  
  Cal doesn't know what would've happened in the 'after' if she hadn't taken up Brynn on her damn offer. Her bike seat had been stolen by some drunk asshole, leaving her stranded across town, a two hour's walk home.
  
  Hey, Ryland's driving everyone home- you can tag along, if you want!
  
  Sweet Brynn. She was always nice- one of the only ones in that car Cal tolerated. The entire drive, she'd had a headache- from the smell of weed, the alcohol on everyone's breath, the clamor of voices spinning around her. The strange buzz running across her spine, that waxed and waned as the engine stalled.
  
  Cal doesn't know what the fuck Ryland ended up hitting- a tree, a deer, thin fucking air. She doesn't even remember the moment the crash happened, just the moment it happened. The moment nothing would be the same ever again. The moment she felt everything, each individual creature, from the schoolmates lying around her to the birds in the eves, even the storm brewing around her. She remembered feeling the moment her limbs gave out, the signals running from her mind confused by every other one that it felt.   Did you know that every process in a creature's body is controlled by electrical signals in your brain? It's the one stupid freshman bio fact that's been engrained in Cal's brain ever since the accident, as she went to physical therapy to learn how to walk and ride again, as she tried to ignore the constant buzzing from everything- the school's fluorescent bulbs, the engines of the cars that crowded the streets, the crushing bodies against her. How lightning seemed to always strike when she became upset- which was becoming increasingly more common- even on a completely cloudless day.
  
  As she practiced ignoring her own oddities, she became more adept at ignoring the others- the plants in the bio room that always seemed to grow faster around Briar, the gusts of wind that followed Brynn like desperate puppies, the temperature spikes around Ryland. She was able to ignore it all, until Professor Zenith showed up.
  
  She'd been approached on a rainy Friday afternoon, walking home to school with the slight jerk here and there- her nerves still hadn't completely healed. He'd explained to her who he was, what she was- and the others too, apparently. Cal was satisfied enough to call him crazy and go about her day- until he'd summoned a ball of electricity in his hand. It was almost as if this show of power had caused Cal's own powers to surge to the forefront, bolts of pure electricity weaving up her arms, biting at her clothes and nerves. Zenith explained that he could show her how to not only control these powers, but use them, and Cal, feeling a newfound sense of kinship to the strange man, couldn't help but oblige.
  
  Cal, admittedly, had a hard time getting attached to the others at first. They seemed so adept, so skilled, and here she was, still struggling with all the problems her powers had caused her. Zenith was her only tether, the only thing keeping her from walking out completely- while his specialty was technology, and Cal found she had no particular affinity for it, they quickly found her power over the weather, focusing on that- especially as Cal found herself far to scared to admit her connection to bioelectricity. Even so, Cal was soon able to harness her nervous flares of electrical surges, and was even able to create her own electricity. She even found herself becoming attached to her new group of friends, even against her original wishes- they were connected by something more than human now, after all.
  
  But nothing good ever lasts. It never does. Cool little Cal, flowing so freely between social groups. Smart little Cal, able to perfectly manipulate everyone around her in order to do so. But even she couldn't manipulate space-time to reverse what ever cruelty caused the cold body laying in front of her, couldn't convince the universe to undo the tragedy. She couldn't do anything but stare as her mentor, her friend, the only person she could care for lied on the floor. Dead.
  
  It was no surprise a freak electrical storm had appeared later that night. At the time, though, Cal could feel nothing. Even as her five counterparts rushed in to see what was wrong, even as the lights flickered and burst overhead in glass showers, the familiar buzz she'd gotten so used to feeling from Zenith was gone. Had she not been so focused on finding that current from Zenith, it was possible that he wouldn't have been the only tragedy that night- the unpredictability of Cal's powers in the moment promised anyone who'd gotten to close wouldn't have had their electrical current for much longer, either.
  
  The next months were anything but easy. Cal's progress became undone near-instantly, her small town becoming the meteorological hub of America. The shadowy creature taunting her from her dreams ensured she stayed on a steady supply of pills to combat these sudden anger issues. She skipped town several times, strange weather trailing her as she went. She didn't care. She didn't care. What was the point, if it could all be erased in a second?
  
  A sun. A moon. An all-enveloping darkness that sank into her soul. And that damn rock, stormy gray that flared and crackled as it touched her skin. She'd convinced herself she doesn't care, that it wasn't her problem, that she never asked to have these powers in the first place.   Tasnim got her ears pierced when she was 3- as in, they were pierced for a total of 2 weeks before Nima, in a sugar-induced fit of curiosity, tore out her earrings from her earlobes and broke them. After that episode, her mother decided to hold off on getting her earrings. Around the age of 12, Nima, in a bit of a rebellious phase, got her ears pierced once more without notifying her parents, as well as getting her nose pierced. Were they annoyed by the piercings? Yes, however, not mad like Nima had bet on them being. She commonly mixes pieces of her sari's and salwar kameez's with her everyday clothes, giving her a unique look.   Tas is known as one of the "alpha-bitches" of the high school, and prefers to keep it that way. Often described as cruel, back-handed and bossy, to anyone not in her group of friends she is an overwhelmingly unlikeable person to be around. Prone to bursts of emotion, Tas struggles to keep her emotions in check, which oftentimes lead to emotional outbursts. Outside of class, the most common advice she gets from friends and family is to watch what she says. However, while she can be mean as all get out, she can also reign it in when necessary, proving herself to be funny and snarky, as well as surprisingly well-meaning.
  
  If you don't know her well, she tends to keep herself at an arm's distance, even to those she's supposedly friends with. She has an innate distrust of others, which leads her to keeping anything that goes against the cool, popular, mean girl persona locked shut around most people. While she's outwardly very emotive, she also gives off the feeling of ice, of coldness. Her insults and scathing remarks all have a sort of perfected grace and elegance to them, keeping her chin up and smirk faint as she insults someone.
  
  Tasnim is loud and glamorous, leaving no stone unturned in pursuit of personal improvement. She loves anything sparkly and beautiful, often being described as vain and materialistic by her father. To that, she doesn't quite care. Hey, you only live on this world once, might as well look pretty doing it, right? An avid partier, there is no party that's thrown in this school that Tas is not aware of, at least tangentially, nor one she isn't willing to crash. She lives for fun and excitement, at any opportunity to push the rules, at least a little. Maybe it's because of her large family, but Tasnim thrives in chaos. You can describe Tasnim in many ways (mostly derogatorily) but one thing she isn't is boring.
  
  To those who know her past the cold, brittle surface, Tas is a loyal individual, willing to be by your side through sunshine or high tide. If you need to hide a body, Tasnim will be there in a jiffy, and will bring snacks as well! She is an incessantly curious person, always wanting to know how something works or why things are done in specific ways. She fosters a love of research as a result, and can often times be seen with either a book in hand or eyes glued onto a computer screen during one of her internet deep dives. Tasnim frequently volunteers around town. While she's cruel and biting to others, she genuinely wants to make a difference in the world, any way necessary. If she thinks something potentially interesting or threatening is happening around town, she'll be the first to want to know. (She's a reporter for the school newspaper and runs a gossip page, which means that she has the best tea.)
  
  Tasnim is surprisingly dorky, with a shelf full of books and merchandise for her favorite franchises. She keeps all her nerdy stuff in a box inside her closet, loathe if anyone in her social circle found out about her interests and told everyone at school about it. She still loves Nancy Drew, and commonly reads one of the books before bed. Tasnim is a quick person, adept in social situations and knowledgeable about a breadth of subjects.   Loneliness- Tas has never been quite alone in her life; she's always had uncle's, aunt's, siblings and cousins running underfoot. The constant noise and activity has become an old friend to Tas, a warmth that she'd be loathe to let go of completely. When she was younger, she wasn't well-liked amongst her peers, leading a sad, quiet social life. She hates the feeling of being left alone by herself, of floating in the world, desolate and distant.
  
  Rejection- As a child, Tas was not popular at all- she was constantly made fun of, from her name to her weight. It wasn't until middle school that she formed something that resembled a group of friends (no matter how toxic or suffocating it was). This ties into her distrust of people, holding those in her social circle at arm's length, no matter how much she may hang out with them. If Tas were rejected by her peers once more, she might break.
  
  Lack of Control- Tasnim is, to put it aptly, a control freak, needing total control over every single event in her life. Her parents, for years and years, controlled every aspect of her life, from what she wore to her interests, and she was constantly bullied at school while being put through social situations she hated. As a result, Tasnim needs to meticulously plan and have an iron grip on her life, to the point where, if you don't do as she says, you have a long, hard road ahead of you. Losing her thin sense of control is the worst possible scenario for Tasnim, one she cannot allow to happen at any cost.

  Tasnim was born to two working class immigrant parents from Bangladesh and India, respectively. The first of five siblings, Tasnim lived in a small apartment with her family, where money seemed to always be tight. Her parents relationship was always fraught with tension: in all of Tasnim's earliest memories, they appeared to be fighting tooth and nail. The pair had met in college, each on a student visa, and had fallen in love. Neither of their parents approved of the arrangement, which spurred the couple to elope and cut off contact from their families. However, this decision seemed to, as the years went by, bring strife and conflict within the family, as their parents' relationship grew sour with unfulfilled dreams and resentmnent.
  
  From a young age, Tasnim was given a strict routine of what she could and couldn't do, of things she could and couldn't like- her parents had failed to make a better life for themselves, and refused to let that happen to their daughter. As a result, they ended up micro-managing much of Tas's childhood, throwing her into activities she didn't want to do and limiting her social life so she could focus on studying. Tasnim, while on fairly good social footing during pre-school and the beginnings of elementary, quickly became singled as the odd one out due to a variety of factors: her social awkwardness, her weight, her name, and her nerdiness.   When reaching middle school, Nima entered the year with trepidation and fear. She had begun to struggle in school, letting down her parents and drawing their ire. She started the school year being the punching bag for the popular kids at the school, sitting by herself at lunch and constantly being the victim of dilapidating rumors. She normally went off into the library for lunch, reading the books there and using the computers at the school. She researched various topics and did deep dives into celebrity drama, as well as collected gossip from online about her classmates. This sparked her constant pursuit for information, to be one step ahead of the game.
  
  One day, one of the popular kids, Lou Spangler, was paired up with Nima for a project, which disgusted Lou and terrified Nima. While working on the project in Lou's house one day, Nima overheard Lou on the phone with one of her friends, complaining about her arch-nemesis, Bridget Price. Nima, having had collected some blackmail on Bridget from overhearing a conversation she had had in the bathroom, rushed to extoll it to Lou, hoping to get in her good graces. Nima became Lou's gossip dealer of sorts, providing her with the latest rumors going around the school. In exchange, Nima's social status was elevated so much to the point where she became part of Lou's crew, sitting with her doing lunch and invited to her sleepovers. However, while Nima was relatively safe from being the subject of public ire, it was a constant tightrope between social acceptance and rejection in Lou's clique, with any action Lou didn't like instant expulsion from her group. After breaking up with her ex, Stacy Mendelbaum, Nima is currently having a fling with a jock on the football team. Her social life is going pretty smoothly, especially when compared to her home life. Her parents, while living together, have mostly separated, leading entirely separate lives and only ever conversing when it had something to do with the kids. Her mother has begun to date a much younger man, leaving Nima with a vague sense of helplessness and like her life is spiraling out of control. She began to work two jobs to help out at home, one as a babysitter, and the other at the local Walmart. Surprisingly, she's kind and affable during her jobs, the bitch persona melting away into someone more agreeable and genuinely fun to hang out with sober- of course, only if you don't know who she is. If you go to school with her, expect the bitch.
  
  Lately, odd occurrences have begun to plague the town, causing the inner reporter in Nima to raise her brows and take out her camera. To cut down on her caffeine intake, she's resorted to drink latte's (which, in her mind, is not real coffee) , chai tea, and juices.
  
  - Tas loves hyper-pop music, enjoying just how glittery and bombastic music in the genre sounds. Her favorite artists are Charli XCX, Rina Sawayama (arguably hyper-pop), Coucou Chloe, and Shygirl.
  
  - She loves vintage movies, from horrors to mystery to rom-coms. She knows a shit ton of facts about the Golden Age of Hollywood, from Marlene Dietrich to Vincent Price, and would happily random about them to anyone willing to listen.
  
  -They have many hobbies but, as life goes on, less time to do them. She enjoys researching, watching cold-case files, playing board games, video gaming, jogging, baking, and video editing, to name a few.
  
  -While she complains about her gossiping, backstabbing aunt's, it seems Tas has begun to emulate them in her life, as she loves gossiping and collecting dirt on people, often times crossing the line in order to do so.
