Colosseum The Elemental Tournament

Space_Kaiser

Formerly known as Loyal Guardian

Welcome to the tournament newcomer!

I see that you exhibit some potential, well look no further to test your strength! This tournament was created with the sole purpose to test your strengths, find your weaknesses, and adapt to situations. Here you will find that your fellow competitors may not exhibit any mercy, so we expect you do the same. So will you sign up and test your will?

Backstory:

This tournament was created after the discovery of elemental powers in certain individuals. A few years later these powers were almost the norm and tournaments popped up everywhere for these fighters, mainly so they can vent out their reserved strength and as entertainment for the people. The Elemental Tournament is one that is internationally recognized and fighters from all across the world from different countries and backgrounds flock to this event. Now YOU are one of those ambitious fighters, ready to make a name for themselves.

"Welcome to the tournament. Elijah was it? Either way i hope you know how to use your power well." The Moderator said approaching Elijah at the gates. "I'm sorry to inform you that this year the competitors are coming in at a slower pace, so i will have someone escort you to the hotel where our fighters stay in."

@eliisc00l

"I do hope so to, however i have to fear that more will show up." The Moderator said looking back at the arena. "But when they do arrive i advise you to learn as much as you can about your opponents. Until then i wish you best of luck." He then walked back to the direction he came from and disappeared into the shadows.

@eliisc00l

The Moderator sat back in his chair thinking, "People normally rush to this tournament, but this year people aren't showing up. I blame the governments and their stupid restrictions." He then sent a broadcast on television, something he normally never does, and talked about this year's tournament.

"Due to recent lack of applicants, i am opening up this tournament to people of all backgrounds with no restrictions. Only a basic criminal background check will be done. Any Elemental power is authorized. If you would like to fight in this grande tournament then arrive at the arena if you wish to partake in battle."

"Welcome to the tournament Miss Azcadelia. I should inform you that this year the tournament is going quite slow with little competitors arriving." The Moderator said approaching her at the gates. "For now i advise you stay at the hotel provided for the fighters."

@ArchWarden

"Yes, yes, of course mom, i brought them." Daniel said, walking out of the airport. He was currently talking to his mother on the phone, who was basically surprised about this whole thing. "Of course i'll do good mom! Magtiwala po kayo sakin, ma!(Trust me on this, ma!)" Daniel chuckled, scratching the back of his head. "You'll see, i'll bring home a bunch of cash for you guys! Oh, i got to get going! See you later!" He said, as he hung up the call. Now that he's here at (where ever this place is), Daniel only needs to find where the tournament is being held. . .

[Mock Battle Available!]

"Permission granted to enter our airspace miss Romanova, our country welcome you. Good luck with the tournament" As soon as ground control finished speaking through the radio, the futuristic looking jet zipped away at mach 1, its destination was the the the HQ of the tournament.

"Mmmmh I hope they have a landing pad or at least enough space to land my baby" thought the pilot of the jet.

Sadly, all she could find was a nearby parking lot, but luckly it was big enough for the aircraft to perform a vertical landing. When the engines shut down the cockpit revealed a robotic figure, it was very feminine looking but at the same time it was an unsettling sight.

The robot jumped down the aircraft and took off her helmet, revealing instead, a blonde woman in her late 20s.

"So this is the western world, uh? A better place than they made me believe..." She said with a marveled smile on her face.

Greetings Miss Nala, i do hope you enjoyed your travels. From what i have read you appear to be an excellent fighter and i have a feeling you are the top contestant for the tournament this year.

Nala

Colosseum hotel

The sun was already hanging high in the sky, the time mid day and Nala was still hiding under her blankets. For some reason the hotel room happened to come with a wall that was nothing more then glass, allowing sunlight to flood in and rip Nala from a much needed rest. When the first light of dawn had lit up her room, Nala retreated under her bed to hide from the light. Upon mid day even under the bed was washed in the harsh dream rending sun light. Leaving only two options for Nala to escape back to sleep. She would either have to sleep in the bathroom, or the closet. Neither sounded too appealing. So Nala remained awake in her bed for only twenty minutes longer, before getting ready for the day.

Nala was none too excited to get into the actual fighting part of his vacation. If it was up to her she would have stayed in the room and replaced the windowed wall with solid concrete. That was not an option for Nala though. Being here was less of a luxury, and more of a necessity. The best thing for Nala to do would be to stick her hands in her pockets, tough it out, and find the free hotel food.

"Greetings Miss Nala..."

As Nala walked down the halls a voice greeted her, a voice she was familiar with. The Moderator. Apparently coming to greet her personally. Nala kept walking, that fact that she was not slowing down made it clear she had no intention of stopping. As she walked past the Moderator she hooked her own arm around his, dragging him along for the ride down the hallway.

"You can cut the formalities, Nala is enough. Now, lead me to the food, I'm hungry and not letting you go till I get something to eat." Although innocent in nature, Nala treated the Moderator as if he was her hostage.

@Loyal Guardian

The Moderator sighed at Nala's request and action.

"Very well, I shall just call you Nala, I apologize for the formalities but i am used to it." He said in a blank tone. Suddenly a stream of shadows surrounded the two and in a near instant they had appeared at the doorway to an room with many tables.

"This is the dining area where all of the competitors are allowed to dine in if they wish. I would show you the way directly, but we were a few floors up and i would rather not waste the time. Anyways enjoy the selections we have to offer." He said phasing through Nala's arm, beginning to walk away.

@Rantos

Kalynka entered the HQ with her luggage, she was still clad in her armor and her sword was strapped on her hips, it didn't seemed like she was in any way encumbered but her suitcases looked very heavy and one of them was even made of steel.

"Hey you, boy!" She said to the Moderator, not knowing who he was "Help babushka (granny) with luggage, I've travelled a lot, you know!" She said in a thick russian accent and with a certain ironic tone on the word 'babushka'.

The Moderator just starred her and looked at the luggage, then let out a huge sigh. He had to deal with a difficult white-haired girl, now a blonde Russian one.

"Speak to one of the baggage takers and get your room registered. Enjoy your stay and do well in the Tournament." He said beginning to walk past her.

After merely hours of getting lost, Daniel finally found the place where he'll stay. Thanks to a random tip, that is. Now all he needs is to find his own room. He approached a young man with black hair, without knowing who he was.

"Pansensya na, Pero(I'm sorry, but)...Is this the right place?" He asked, stratching his head. "I was supposed to enter an elemental tournment, and i'm wondering if this is the hotel the competitors are staying in..." Dan laughed sheepishly, still carrying his bag by te shoulder.

@Loyal Guardian

The Moderator looked at the boy and pointed towards the hotel.

"This is the hotel where the competitors stay in for the tournament. I assume you are an aspiring competitor, so i wish you luck. This years cast is small, but strong." He then decided to no longer waste his time walking and suddenly disappeared like a shadow.

@Thepotatogod

Harry walked down the long, dusty road. In the distance he could see lights, presumably from the tournament or its buildings. This was it, the penultimate moment of his journey. The night felt thick around him, a cloak of shadow that Harry slipped through, unseen as he made his way to one of the larger buildings. Lights in the windows; long, blocky structure: this had to be the hotel.

Stepping into the bright, artificial light of the lobby, Harry dusted off his weather-worn travelling cloak. Alas, the seemingly endless supply of soot that coated his clothing was not shaken. Ah, well. One of the many inevitable side effects of his powers.

"Excuse me, sir, I'm here for the... Elemental Tournament, was it?" Harry addressed the closest official looking person he saw; a young (too young, in Harry's opinion) man with black hair who had been standing morosely by the door. "I've come quite a long way, as well, do you know of any place I can rest? These old bones aren't as sturdy as they used to be." With a half-smile, Harry looked towards the man, awaiting a response.

@Loyal Guardian

"Salamat po(Thanks)!" Daniel waved at the man in thanks as he proceeded inside. He glanced back for a moment only to see him disappear in darkness. He shrugged, going to his room that he recieved alongside the admission. Dan reflected upon what the man said. 'This year's cast is small, but strong.' This thought made him worry. Just how strong are his opponents?

The Moderator had just arrived at the hotel to speak with the contestants about the tournament schedule. When he arrived he saw an old man walk up to him. After hearing his question he turned his whole body to face him.

"Yes this is the hotel where all of the competitors stay for the duration of the tournament. While there is no real age requirement for the tournament, i suggest you either turn back or be very aware of the opponents around you. This year's cast is small, but strong." He then lifted his hand towards the dinning hall. "In there is where you can eat and where i am about to go to address the competitors." (OOC: Sorry i changed it up a bit, but i had already left the hotel when you posted that)

Nala

Hotel mess hall

Apparently the Moderator had control over the element of teleportation, fancy. After being consumed without warning by a stream of shadows, Nala found herself looking straight way into the hotel mess hall. It was nothing too special, just your basic set up of white tables, contrasted by the white floor and white walls. Nice floral printed shades hung agape on the many windows, acting more as decoration rather then to block the sun light. They were also white.

Nala walked in once the Moderator left. She was immediately drawn to the smell of hot breakfast meats. Pigs and cows and duck, all slaughtered up and burned till crisp for Nala's enjoyment. Nala grabbed hold of the biggest plate she could find, which was actually just a serving platter she stole from a waitstaff. She stacked the platter a mile high with miscellaneous meats and things made with potatoes: french fries, baked potatoes, hash browns, a raw potato she stole from the kitchen... don't ask.

With her skyscraper of food, Nala walked over to the nearest little white table and set down her plate. She got numerous strange looks from many of the other patrons of the mess hall. But did she care? Hell no! With such a fantastically grotesque bounty of food before her, Nala could no longer hold back. She began to shove food into her mouth, throwing all caution to the win and indulging herself as she pleased.

((First IC RP since like, February for me. So pardon of it's a bit sketchy and inconsistent)).

“Hey! Wake up, punk!”

“BLOODY HELL!” Julia bellowed in annoyance as a hard tug pulled her half-awake self from the nondescript SWAT van, dragging her half way to the ground on the way out. “You wankers got no respect for a dozing lass, eh?” she exclaimed as she dusted off her lower half. It had been an arduous journey from the United Kingdom to the Unite State’s west coast; the pilot had chosen to fly a route due east from London, resulting in what seemed like a significantly longer trip than it should have been, and the fact that it had been some military grade plane rather than a comfy commercial airliner had made it all the more painful in her mind.

Still feeling the effects of the jet lag, she belted out an unapologetic yawn, and stretched as far as her bondage would allow her.

Adorning her body, apart from the usual leather street clothes to which she was practically attached, was an assortment of shackles and braces. Some were simplistic rubberized strands or chain-like items. Others were far more technical than Julia cared to understand beyond the fact that they assisted in the suppression and control of her Element, inhibiting her very ability to utilize it to its fullest extent; being at one with the electrical and magnetic forces rendered her a relatively dangerous subject if precautions weren’t taken, especially when it was factored in that she was now registered as a domestic terrorist within her home country.

Flanking her, clad in specialty suits made from a material not unlike the neoprene articles worn by electrical workers, was a combined task force of British Special Forces and local L.A.P.D. SWAT team members. Each was armed with what Julia suspected might be rubber bullets, which, while non-lethal, would certainly leave a decent set of welts on her body if she wasn’t careful. Held in tow by the bondage by several of these guards, Julia was shepherded at the heart of the military escort, and proceeded at the designated pace with little more complaint. “At least we finally ‘ere. So, what the sitch ‘ere blokes?”

“The Moderator, as they’re apparently calling him, is supposed to be addressing the competitors shortly.” Said the gruff squad captain. “After that, you’ll be escorted to your room and await further instruction.”

“I think you ought’ be a little more grateful. I’m doin’ the Crown a right service ‘ere.”

“I think you ought to remember that your service is recompense for your damages, and that one slip up, and it’s off to prison with you. Now move.”

A man at the front of the escort gave a tug on his line, pulling Julia like a dog into the hotel foyer, and through to an ornate banquet hall where, among the numerous favors, the so-called “Moderator” was supposedly delivering his Tournament address.

“One slip up, and you’re done for, Miss Concord,” the captain sneered as he forced her down into a seat near the back of all. “Just. One.”

The Moderator had called all the contestants into the dinning area so he could talk about the tournament line up and such. Normally the room would be packed with competitors, but due to international regulations being out in place, only six were able to show. As the last one arrived, who was bondaged and escort by police, he cleared his throat and began to speak.

"Welcome all to the tournament, i hope you enjoyed your comfortable stay because it will be no longer. Before i begin i would like to apologize for the delay, the people who really run this whole show insisted to wait for an appropriate number of competitors to come, but i was able to convince them to continue on before this was suspended indefinitely.

Now i am inclined to tell you that any continuation of unsportsmanlike conduct occurs, i will step in and deal with the aggressor. Now let us begin the tournament bracket, but note that these were at random.

In order to have a equalized tournament and no bye rounds, the committee has decided that two matches will be needed in order for a final four to occur. These for contestants are as follow: Nala, Julia, Kaly, and Daniel . You four will be the ones to battle it out in the final four, so i shall now say who you're opponents will be. The first match will be Nala vs. Daniel then afterwards it will be Julia vs. Kaly. I wish you all luck and please follow by the rules of the tournament."

The moderator then stepped down his little makeshift stage and began to walk out. As he reached the doorway of the dinning hall he disappeared out of thin air.

Kaly made a cheeky grin when she heard who was her opponent, an interesting choice indeed but she was sure that her "Babies" will give her hell.

"You my enemy, yes?" She said jokingly but in a friendly tone to Julia, she was wearing a rather outdated business suit, something that someone could only wear half a century ago.

"I'm Doctor Kalynka Romanova, pleased to meet you" She said while giving her hand for a shake.

Ryan rushed towards the dining hall, just now entering the hotel building to find his room. "Man... talk about good timing..." Ryan mumbled to himself in a joking tone. Seeing the small crowd, he walked close to the wall, finally stopping around the center and pressing his back against the wall as he scanned the entire room. "Hm... You'd think there would be more people than this at a world-wide tournament..." Ryan thought, suspicious on why so little people joined in the tournament. Ryan's train of thought was soon cut off once the site of a woman, locked up tight and being escorted, came into the room. The Moderator then began to speak. "Girl in chains... wonder what her story is..." Ryan thought, letting his mind wonder in possible scenarios. "Can you please be more professional and less... childish. And stop staring at her, you'll make a bad impression staring like that!" Ice commanded in his usual, bossy tone. You'd think that after half a year of having a voice like this in your head, it'd give up and just not speak, but nope, he was persistent. "It's not like I'm checking her out or anything! She's just interesting looking is all..." Ryan explained in his head. "Either way, please don't get lost in your fantasies. This is your final test to prove if you are willing of full power over ice... Treat it with more respect..." Ryan didn't respond directly, but began listening to the moderators words more carefully, looking away from the woman in the restraints and over at the moderator. The meeting was finally over and Ryan watched as people either left or mingled. He watched another woman walk up to the one in the restraints and began to speak. Ryan took his leave right about then and walked over to the front desk, asking about his room. After getting that cleared up, Ryan took his room key and went up to his room. "Hm... this is nice. A lot nicer than the one I stayed in in that one place." Ryan said sarcastically as he took off his lightly armored coat and jumped on the bed, tossing the coat on a nearby chair. "What did you expect, you slept in an abandoned hotel in an old, war torn city..." Ice replied. "Hm... That explains why room service never brought me that sundae..." Ryan said absently, looking up at the ceiling. "I can't tell if you're joking and I can see everything inside your head..." Ice said in both astonishment and mild disgust. Ryan laid there for many seconds in complete silence, still looking up at the white ceiling. "Hey Ice... Why'd you choose me even after everyone else turned me down...?" Ryan asked. There was a long moment of silence before Ice replied. "Because... I believe you can change... You're a headache now, but you still have a lot to learn... I... Have faith in you I guess..." Ryan slowly sat up, thinking about that for a while and finally replied back. "I'll try and not disappoint you then..." Ryan looked around the room, checking out all the little things like the mini fridge, microwave, coffee maker, little soaps and stuff in the bathroom... He went through everything in the room and finally laid back down on the bed, eyes wide open as he waited for his turn in the tournament.

"Phew! All done!" Dabiel sighed as he finished unpacking and fixing the bed. He was about to sleep until he called to the hotel's dining room. There were a few people there, one arriving with police escorts. Probably a criminal of sorts. During half of the speech, he fiddled with a little black stress ball which he always carries around to keep his cool; Throwing it at all and such. But since the moderator was appearently here, he decided to just squeeze it in bordom. Oh yeah, It was also mentione who his opponent will be tomorrow; Someone named Nala. Judging by the name, they could be a girl. But due to him not knowing what they look like, he'll keep his hands to himself. As soon as the moderator disappeared mysteriously, he threw his stress ball a few feet upwards and landed on his palms. He repeated this until it was time to go.
