Fantasy The Elder Scrolls: Snow Unto Ash. (OOC THREAD)

Hello everyone! The Oblivion remake has me jonesing very badly to explore the Elder Scrolls universe in a way I haven't wanted too in ten long years. Years ago I ran writing forum threads for the Elder Scrolls set in a specific time with a specific vibe, but that allowed folks to build their own characters and stories individually in a shared thread, while also offering the chance to shift the world of Tamriel as a whole and possibly intersect multiple players and create major story arcs and sub arcs.

The greater story of this game would be set in 4e 206, five years after the events of The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim. The Empire is losing it's control over all of its holdings. The civil war in Skyrim has ramped up to such a degree that half the Empire's holdings have been fully lost. Rumors abound that both Morrowind and High Rock are considering succession as their provinces suffer under both internal threats and external taxing to fund the losing efforts in the mountains of Skyrim. The Aldmeri Dominion's conflict with Hammerfell have escalated with the annexation of the isle of Stros M'kai. The Thalmor are not safe either, however, as rumors of civil war and movements of independence have begun in the Elsweyr colonies of Anequina and Pelletine. Chaos looms on the brink at every turn, opening a time of strife... and a time when heroes and rulers are forged.

With that general setting in place, please feel free to go out and explore any of these ideas, or make something entirely new! This series is meant to be rich with both personal stories and stories that will rock the nation as a whole! Throughout the game I'll present Black Horse Courier articles that will serve as small, background updates and perhaps might even highlight something you've done in the game! My only request is not to change major events or settings of the game without talking in here first.

Here is your application;

Name: Lady Amelia Stratford
Race: Breton
Pronouns: She/Her
Bio: She was born to Lord Antoine (charismatic, witty, arrogant, brilliant, confident, brave, impulsive, sarcastic, driven, and heroic), and Lady Clarice (determined, compassionate, idealistic, ambitious, fiery, just, proud, brave, visionary, and charismatic). She has two younger siblings, Gwendolyn (dark, witty, morbid, intelligent, sarcastic, independent, stoic, observant, fearless, and eccentric) and Pierre (energetic, brave, witty, kind, eager, loyal, awkward, youthful, selfless, and determined). She herself is witty, confident, empathetic, curious, clever, composed, idealistic, adaptable, principled, and playful. While her grandfather, Lord Randolph (wise, compassionate, mysterious, powerful, patient, witty, brave, stern, strategic, and kind), is seen as everything a noble should be, the name of House Stratford has become somewhat tarnished by Lord Antoine's impulsiveness and inability to tolerate foolishness. With the growing conflict, her parents favor independence, and (particularly for Lady Clarice) the restructuring of High Rock along more egalitarian lines and the destruction of the old order. Amelia, however, still wonders if there can be peace and unity, so she is now preparing to travel as part of a diplomatic peace effort.
Starting idea: Daggerfall noblewoman
Face Claim: Amelia Gething

Name: Tyrda Shadowvale
Race: Wood Elf/Bosmer
Pronouns: she/her
Bio: Born under another name, as the young Bosmer woman Tyla was chased out of her home in Arenthia during a Thalmor purge of possible rebellious elements. Throughout her childhood she and her Mother constantly found themselves on the move, staying in various places from Skingrad to Sentinel, before eventually settling down in Dragonstar. Despite being uprooted from Valenwood, and despite her Mother's pleas not too, Tyrda has always insisted on adheering to the Green Pact, although time taught her to perhaps be more... aware, of what said pact might look like to the Nords, Breton and Redguard of Dragonstar. Soon after moving to Dragonstar, Tyrda hooked up with local ruffians, and an inevitable escape from the city guard lead her into the hands of the Thieves Guild, and her speed and nimbleness quickly became an incredible tool in her new line of work at the mere age of sixteen. After the death of Tyrda's mother, that Thieves Guild hussle became her new home, and in the ensuing ten years she made enough of a name for herself to possibly be the new guild master in Hammerfell. Despite this high honor, Tyrda chose instead to take her skills on the road, and over the next few years moved through Cyrodiil, and toward Morrowind, only tangentially related to her Thieves Guild roots, seemingly searching for... something.
Starting idea: Tyrda will be my main character in the game, and will likely find herself at the tip of several main changes in the setting. She'll begin on a job in Vivec City.

Name: Sophronia Arabella Lilaea Barynia (More Commonly Known as Shira)
Race: Breton
Pronouns: She/Her
Bio: Biography is quite long; basically, she's the Princess of Wayrest and granddaughter of King Barynia. Blessed with the gift of prophecy by Dibella from birth, Sophoronia is devoted to the Divines as well as the Daedric Prince Azura. After being experimented on by rogue Reachmen residing in the nearby Wrothgarian Mountains and the sacking of her kingdom, she was targeted by the Dark Brotherhood. Due to having undergone experimentations that severely shortened her lifespan and thought to live no longer than the age of thirty, her parents sent her to live in Markarth with her grandmother Bothela. Sophronia then became known as Shira (to disguise herself as a Reach Native, as her father was one) and a priestess at the Temple of Dibella, only having a few friends including her fellow sisters and Dwemer automaton companion Evadne.
Starting Idea: Willing to make her Dragonborn or at least the Champion of Azura! She is an unusual mix of Aedra and Daedra worship.

Accepted! My only wish is that we avoid the term specifically dragonborn, since so much of the previous five years of Tamriel's time revolved around a dragonborn. Azura's champion sounds AMAZING though, and love the possible political intrigue!

I LOVE the focus on the political struggle between High Rock and Cyrodiil! Absolutely accepted!

Name: Lurks-the-Marsh

Starting idea: I was thinking that he could look more primitive compared to his kin, more like the lizardmen from DnD. Maybe he specializes in Alchemy, Alteration and Stealth.

Name: Faustus Lascivius

Race:
Imperial pure-blood vampire.
Pronouns:
He/she/they.

Bio:
Faustus was born on the streets of the Imperial City to a beggar woman named Lucia. From an early age, he associated the word "home" with ragged bedrolls by the waterfront and a shabby campfire. His meals came from the kindness of others, though rarer and rarer as it started to become as he grew up, though only in the sense of age because of his malnourishment. By the age of seven, he had grown to accrue donations; the odd Septim here and there, on his own and he prayed that the Grey Fox would return and his thieves would come take him away from the life he lived. In the summer of his tenth year, Lucia and her son were approached by associates of Siggeir Hearth-Maker, a wealthy land broker and shipping magnate with a clandestine passion for slavery and the intent to take Faustus as a servant.

Faustus spent effectively the rest of his life as one of a handful of captive worker to the Hearth-Maker patriarch, tending to the family's manor alongside other maids under the callous hand of Siggeir. He worked the kitchen for most of his time with the Hearth-Makers, eventually being reassigned following the death of Baudiel, Siggeir's personal chambermaid. Now in her position, Faustus learned both the benefits of becoming so close to Siggeir: better meals, cleaner clothes, and a small but regular stipend of Septims. Unfortunately, now so close to his ever-watchful eye and crazed demands, he soon learned the drawbacks as well.

Eight years into service, Faustus accompanied Siggeir on a business trip to Whiterun, where he both warmed his captor's bed as well as made it in the morning. It was a disgustingly cold night when they stopped their leg of the journey in Falkreath and Faustus was finally allowed to roam the town without an escort. He disappeared into woods by the west road, where he'd found a strange door surrounded by Nightshade flowers. Though he didn't approach, he had felt a manic call from the crypt-like barrier and began picking the flowers and crushed them between stones until they formed a paste. At nightfall, he returned to the inn where Siggeir was awaiting him as he'd grown used to. Spreading the paste on his lips before he joined his captor, the young man closed his eyes and took solace in the thought that his suffering would be over soon and. Before the night was over, Siggeir slumped into the bed and his heart stopped, with Faustus nowhere to be found. He was gone, almost as if he'd never existed in the first place.

At some point during his new life wandering Skyrim, he'd survived a fateful encounter with the Daedric prince Molag Bal, becoming one of if not the first recorded "Son of Coldharbour."

Starting idea:
Having nowhere else to turn to in his life following the murder of his captor, Siggeir Hearth-Maker, Faustus eventually became a deep-cover agent for the Dark Brotherhood in Dawnstar who specializes in poisons, alchemy, and stealth. He can spend months, if not years, waiting for the opportunity to fulfill the assignments right under the noses of his targets while operating under various layers of disguise and subterfuge.

Heyo, welcome to the site!

Just wanted to point out that, since this is an OOC/CS Thread, you should probably message the mods and request that it be moved to Extra Pages so you aren't in violation of the 'Incorrect Thread Placement' rule.

Good luck with your RP! ^^

I'd be happy to do that, but I'm a little bit confused. This is very much a request for people to write on a project that will be IC, so wouldn't it be a violation to move it to another area and still be looking for people to join? I just want to make sure, as this is still very much a recruitment thread.

Ah, in that case you should make another thread, since CS and OOC threads belong in Extra Pages and Recruitment threads belong in Recruitment ^^

Ah, in that case I understand! I'll keep the chitchat here to a minimum and make an OOC thread in the extra's section. Thank you so much for pointing this out!

I absolutely love them!! Accepted, very excited to see what you bring to the table with him!

Name: Do’Barri
Race: Khajiit (Pahmar-Rhat)
Pronouns:He/Him
Bio: Born in 4e 172 and known throughout his childhood and adolescence as just Barri he was a merchants son. While he grew larger than his parents as many Pahmar-Raht do his family impressed on him the need for an education. While not the storied imperial colleges of higher learning Pellitine had its own places of learning.

Barri was the second generation of Khajiit to grow up under the rule of the Aldmeri Dominion. His kingdom being a cultural mixture of imperial and Khajiit cultures his people new masters were either dismissive or hostile to their traditions. The worship of both Aedra and Daedra particularly stuck in their craw. So did the use of moon sugar in religious rituals. These practices were either suppressed or outright banned.

But the road held the promise of freedom so by his eighteenth year by he left with the caravan of his uncle. He traveled from the heights of Skyrim to the borders of Black Marsh and had fight in every province. Among the gods of his people he was most partial to Boethra, and in a world often hostile to cats their path was one worth walking. He and all under his charge would survive no matter the costs.

In his twenty fifth year he earned the honorable prefix of Do. After a the son of Jarl accused one among the caravan of a valuable necklace him and his followers attempted to search for it. When the Khajiit claimed innocence swords were drawn and only Barri stood in the way of the Nords. That day he killed five men single-handedly though he suffered a near fatal wound.

Having returned to Pellintine on a more permanent basis he’s looked into the rumors of a potential rebellion against the Aldmeri Dominion. He’s also explored the deeper mysteries of Boethra Khajiit rarely pray to them but Do’Barri figures he’ll need every edge he can get if he’s to oppose the Aldmeri Dominion.

Starting idea: Do’Barri is the prodigal son of Pelletine comeback after years spent guarding a Khajiit caravan. A follower of Boethra he seeks to add the strength of his arms and cunning of his mind to stirring rebellion against the Aldmeri Dominon
