  Otto is, to be quite frank, rather spontaneous. Sometimes he's sitting and being calm and relaxed, other times he is up on his feet and could keep anyone around him on their toes. You can get along with him if you're able to keep up with his enthusiasm and the fact that he can go from sitting down to not being able to sit still. Boredom tends to set in very easily with Otto, he is a person who needs something to keep him occupied. Otto tends to goof off and be on the more comical side. He's funny, tries to make people laugh and smile.

  - haewon's only knowledge of american high school was from movies so she took self-defense classes to protect herself and her little sister, expecting there to be violence

  backstory.

  Haewon was born to a young couple in South Korea, a husband and wife in a nice apartment in Busan. Her father worked at the ports, whereas her mother was a teacher at Gwangen Elementary School. Her childhood was a happy one, she had many friends at school and she was progressing well, though that changed when her younger sister was born.
  
  Minyoung was born when Haewon was 5, though her parents branded her an accident. Her father left them behind, leading to the decline in their mother's mental health. She stopped making them dinner, getting them ready for school, and ignored Minyoung's cries. The two sisters began to live off of snacks and packaged food, whatever they could find that didn't need cooking. Haewon eventually learned to cook, making whatever she could to keep her and her sister fed.
  
  Many children dreaded school meals but Haewon and Minyoung saw them as a blessing, it meant the two were well fed without worrying about money. While Minnie began to excel in school against all odds, Haewon began to struggle. She couldn't concentrate, she was constantly worrying about something, and her exam results reflected that.
  
  At 17, Haewon decided enough was enough and contacted her aunt, Do-Yun, who had immigrated to America years prior. She hadn't seen her in months but her aunt knew of her mothers behaviour and was willing to help. She paid for plane tickets for Haewon and Minyoung and met them at the airport to take them to their new home. However, Do-Yun was a busy woman, already working two jobs to stay afloat, so Haewon maintained the role of raising her little sister even in this new environment. They started a new school where Haewon continued to struggle academically, though this didn't bother her. However, Minyoung's grades also began to slip. She didn't speak English as well and struggled in classes, as well as struggling to make friends. Haewon didn't mind isolation but Minyoung struggled with it, missing her friends from back home.

  backstory.

  Minnie was a mistake, the second child to a South Korean couple who only wanted one. The unexpected child broke up their relationship, the father left and her mother broke down, turning to alcohol to cope with her loneliness. She had little to no relationship with her mother, leaving her with serious attachment issues. She was instead raised by her older sister, Haewon, who did her best to fill the void her mother left.
  
  Minnie and her sister often went to school hungry but despite this, she still continued to excel. She enjoyed reading, she was almost always found with her head in a book. She was interested in both fiction and non-fiction. She was always interested in learning, even if the teachers around her told her these skills and fun facts would never help her in her adult life. She researched things like first aid, interesting chemical reactions and disasters from history.
  
  Minnie was a little upset when Haewon decided to uproot their small family and move to America, but not because she would miss her mother.       It was no surprise that growing up in a ridgid household that constantly broke out in fights and hanging on thin wires, Artemis picked up these behaviors becoming cold, distant, and a down right bitch. If she could remove herself from the problem and not care or seek comfort from Ivaylo, it would be ok.
      
      This was until her father left and her parents got a divorce, her mother winning custody and her father disappearing from their lives. To keep a normal aspect in their lives their mother tried dating and bringing guys home to fill the empty father role but after time Artemis destroyed all hope she had for these guys to fill the void and grew insensitive to the idea.
      
      Then a year later they got the call that destroyed the de Vos’. Her father had been found hung from the ceiling fan. The energy in the house after that was different, it was very stiff and filled with tension. She does her best to avoid her mother in the house and stick to her room or outside.
      
      Growing up with this upbringing Artemis doesnt plan on people staying in her life for long so she saves herself the pain and makes sure they dont become close because if they dont become close then she cant get hurt. She also vowed she would be there for Ivaylo and he would always come first and to do this she had to put her needs and feelings aside. Overtime she built her confidence high as if she projected the thought that nothing was wrong, nothing was truly wrong.

      Artemis isnt popular but she isnt unknown either. She is quite feared (or disliked) in the school because she is known for beating the shit out of kids or causing them to go cry. Due to a hostile exterior she attracts the more violent beings, sometimes rolling with the wrong crowd and breaking the law. After her fathers death most of her grades started declining and have stayed like this for the majority of the time though she is trying to get them back up.
      
      Outside of school she took up a fascination of learning about melee weapons or anything that wasnt considered a firearm. Her skills also lie with a bow, she has a great shot and doesnt hesitate. Willing to kill a zombie quickly, they are a danger and must be eliminated.

    Auguste is a generally peaceful guy. Absolutely terrifying when you first meet him due to his nature of being a man of few words (the idea that he could speak is actually a rather large debate). However, after getting over the shock, he's surprisingly well-mannered and tends to be a bit isolationistic - just a bit anxious when talking to people. Not very good with eye contact. A gentle giant all things considered.
    
    This is, of course, is hiding the part of Auguste that he doesn't really like talking about: his rage. Auguste had an addiction to violence that he curbs by remaining peaceful and pacifistic. He's worried that any kind of aggressive move from his part might bring him back, and he suffers from a PTSD that makes him exceptionally wary to others. He's, essentially, a tortured musician. He has a kind of magnetic presence to him that can draw people in, whether it's him being a sarcastic little shit, or playing devil's advocate for shits and giggles, he has the ability to draw people into a conversation and make them spill all of their thoughts to him.
    
    Of course, one of the biggest things about him is his apathy: He doesn't care one way or the other what anyone thinks of him. So, he can be rather spontaneous and surprisingly fun despite him having the broody chainsmoker thing going on. Of course, this can also smack people in the face when they realize that not only does the apathy go out to the general public, but it also goes to the people he interacts with.
    
    The best thing to do when talking to him, is to keep in mind that he does not care how the interaction will play out. He's simply bored and wants to have something stimulating happen - whether it be through hooking up or arguing for fun.     Matt doesn’t like talking a lot about his childhood. So whatever information that has been slowly and carefully weaseled out of him is the following list: he speaks a lot of languages because his parents would give him 10 dollars every time he mastered one fluently, he translates a lot for family friends as a side job, he traveled a lot because of his parent’s work. Of course, what his parents’ occupation is really something that he never really feels comfortable stating. And he quietly distracts from answering every time he’s asked, alongside the basic question of "Where are they now?"
    
    After all, all that matters at the end of the day is how the transient lifestyle affected him. And it went poorly, as he became more and more apathetic with each friend that he had to leave behind with the next move. Each failed friendship, each attempt at reaching out emotionally leading to just more pain when he had to leave or they left him

Tom did escape with his pack, but not without the loss of three of three of his fur-siblings who died defending him and the traveler.     She was one of the first people that Tom actually saw after it all fell- and he only remembers her name because it's a food. He'd known her before it all- in school, when he went. It was the hissing at people that did it for him, and the way she didn't unnecessarily bother Tom with stupid questions about 'classwork' or 'the weather' or tell him to 'stop stealing the silverware- seriously stop stealing the silverware please-' she was just, there. And he was glad she was.     Tom had the misfortune of bumping into this person once on a supply run, and was very confused when the boy began to cry- he hadn't bumped into him hard at all. The guy mentioned something about Tom's childhood that he shouldn't have known, and then proceeded to look sad- and Tom didn't like that. So from then on, he proceeded to avoid this strange person.
