The Devil's Throne - Character Sheets

An alternative reality to ours... In the 18th century, the King and Queen reside in a palace situated in East Anglia, England. Strict and old-fashioned, it's difficult to believe the way the world moves around them. However, with the power to change anything in the country the moment they wish, they are the most powerful people in England. Employing many, including guards, servants and advisers, the family holds a great level of secrecy within the walls. Anyone found to break the vow of secrecy or many other rules, could find themselves put to death without trial.

The King and Queen have three sons and three daughters. The eldest Prince, and heir to the throne, is a handsome young man, though cold and heartless by nature. He is due to marry the daughter of the highest judge in England. Many, including his own siblings, fear what will happen when the cruel prince eventually becomes king.

Recently, things in the castle have been gradually becoming more unsettled than usual, following the execution of a young servant a week earlier. Tortured before been hung, she was accused of being evil and trying to corrupt the youngest princess, simply because she was of a poorer class.

Aalie Nicole Ravenswood

tumblr_mnkvzfBgbr1rsdtbao1_500.jpg

Age:
18
Gender:
Female
Role:
Princess 2
Skills:
- Singing
- Piano
- Horseback Riding
- Archery

Personality:
When you think of a redhead, you think of someone with a fiery personality. Someone who will burst at the seams at the drop of a hat. But Aalie is not that kind of girl. She's soft spoken and kind. She keeps a level head and is extremely observant. But don't take her kindness and quietness for weakness. She is a fierce as she is peaceful and if you do anything to hurt her friends, family, or herself, best believe you won't get off easy. She is fiercely loyal to friends and family and will do anything for them. She also expects the people she is loyal to, to be just as loyal back. She does not take it lightly, and if you are not willing to risk everything for her, she will not risk everything for you. She's a bit cold in that way but she truly does have a kind heart. She just expects that if she's kind to you you're kind back.
Fears:
Aalie has two main fears. The first is loosing the ones she loves. And the second is never finding love. Aalie knows she is a princess, and that love in a marriage is not always guaranteed, but biggest fear is that she will be stuck in a loveless marriage and have no one but the children she bears to love her. On that same note, she fears that someday, somehow, her family will be endangered, and she'll lose all of them. Especially with the rise of her eldest brother Christopher. The man has grown cold and Aalie fears for both her family and her country once Christopher comes into power.
Likes:
+ Baroque Music
+ Dancing
+ Archery
+ Horses/Horseback Riding
+ Singing
+ Theatre
+ Flowers/Gardening
Dislikes:
- Large Crowds
- Insects
- Overly Sweet Foods
- Cooking
- Arrogant People
- Children (As a Princess, and a woman, it is necessary to have children to keep her line going. But that does not mean she has to like them.)

History:
Being a Princess is no walk in the park, and Aalie learned that from a young age. Hours, upon hours of etiquette classes and history lessons and blah blah blah blah blah. As a child, Aalie resented her status and wished she could be like the servant children she saw running about the gardens with their parents. But she soon realized that being second to last in line, meant she had a little more freedom than the rest of her siblings. Not to say her nannies and handmaidens let her get away with anything, just most things.
Aalie was lucky enough to not have all eyes on her as she learned to ride horses and use a bow. She became quite good at both and likes to enter tournaments when they are held. Along with horseback riding and archery, Aalie became very fond of the arts, specifically the performing kind. She took both piano and voice lessons for years and has become quite the performer. She is often seen at the local theatre, watching plays. Aalie likes to say that if she hadn't been a princess, she would gladly be a performer in a theatre. (She even writes her own music and stories sometime, but those are for her eyes only) She also has a fondness for royal gardens. She is often seen helping the staff tend to the flowers and she even has her own private garden where she grows fruits, vegetables, and all sorts of flora.
Aalie believes she has been lucky with the freedoms she's had growing up. But she knows she won't have them forever. As she's gotten older, suitors have been sending letters to her parents, asking for her hand in marriage. Luckily, her parents don't plan on marrying her off just yet, so Aalie is safe. But she hopes and prays that someone will come along and steal her heart away, so she won't have to be married off to some stranger.

Extra:
Her name is pronounced A-lee. She has one lady in waiting left, all the rest were married off. This girl, Rosaline, is deaf and can only communicate through writing or sign language. Aalie learned sign language with Rosaline as they grew up and Rosaline is her best friend. If anything were to happen to her, Aalie would be distraught.

However, she's always been an adventurous spirited girl, when she's not in the palace she's out riding, training, or exploring. She doesn't mind getting into trouble here and there, and when she sets her eyes on a goal she'll do everything to see it through. tumblr_inline_ngv7iciQhz1rcrg0y.gif

History:
Azalea's been a fighter since the day she was born. She's was the most stubborn baby you'd ever meet. Since she could walk she would toddle off into the forest or gardens, hoping to find some sort of treasure or the thrill of an adventure, and it was often hard to keep track of her as a child, having to be watched nearly 24/7 but even then she was clever enough to distract her bodyguards to escape. When she was seven she took an interest in sword-fighting, and dancing. She found dancing to be nearly as thrilling as running through the woods, the spinning and twisting sensation was her biggest joy, and she became a masterful, and seeing dancer at a very young age. Even the best dancers were awed. When it came to sword-fighting, she'd often sneak away to watch the guards train in secrecy, she even befriended a page, whom in the future would become a guard, and he taught her much about sword-fighting, the two would train in secrecy for hours at a time, and he would be come to known as Liam.

Regarding her family, Azalea has always kept close ties with them. Even Christopher. She looked after the youngest ones, and if anyone harassed them, you can bet Azalea was the first to defend them, wether it was with words or a punch in the gut she would come running to help. However, as time wore on and Christopher became cruel, Azalea had no choice but to distance herself slowly from him, and although she still loves him dearly and worries for him, she keeps her distances and worries for the rest of her family.

Azalea has also treated everyone as her equal, never talking down to commoners, servants, or any other means of title as anyone below her, she treats them with such a manner of respect that some nobles find it shocking and gross to a point, but she doesn't mind. As she matured, her line of suitors and proposals grew but Azalea denied them all, finding them boring and falling for someone else.

Liam.

He had been assigned as her personal bodyguard for a reason after all. The two knew from the moment they shared there first kiss there would be a battle to rage if anyone else knew about there forbidden love, so they have kept it as secret as possible, and have so far been successful. But as time wears on the palace gets darker and Christopher crueler, blood is shed and secrets are on the verge of coming out and Azalea struggles to keep her own secret safe, and her family safer.

Christopher Matthias Ravenswood

Age:
25

Gender:
Male

Role:
Eldest Prince, Heir to the Throne

Skills:

French, German and Spanish languages
Leadership and commanding
Excellent eye for detail
Making usually "tough" decisions
Persuasion
Swordsmanship
Archery
Horseback riding
Piano and guitar playing

Personality:
Christopher is a very serious man who rarely laughs at jokes. He has a sharp tongue and isn't afraid to speak his mind, even when he knows his words will cause upset. Most people fear him, through the way he carries himself and his ability to deliver terrible punishments. He is an extreme perfectionist and neat freak, so can be very irritable if things are out of place. He is strict with his staff and just as controlling over his siblings. Deep down he cares about his family's safety and often acts to protect them, even if he goes about it the wrong way, in their eyes. He resents the kinder upbringing his siblings have had and is still tortured by the pain he endured growing up. Not many people, including his siblings, know the truth about how the king treated Christopher and he is committed to protecting that secret. He can be paranoid, jealous and quite ill-tempered at times.

Christopher finds enjoyment in music and can often be found playing an instrument or sometimes observing his sister's piano lessons. He spends a lot of time indoors, enjoying the beauty of the palace and the glorious architecture. He also loves the castle gardens and has a surprising respect for the main gardener, a now ageing man who had been around long before the eldest prince was even born. Christopher doesn't have many friends in the palace, but he isn't averse to conversing with those he deems worthy, loyal and hardworking.

Fears:
Love
Failure
Weakness
Losing control
Drowning

Likes:
Power and control
Order and tidyness
Punishing his enemies
His siblings, even if he doesn't show it
Hearing and playing music
Proper etiquette

Dislikes:
His father
Disorder
Filth and mess
Lazy and inept staff
Being lied to
Surprises and parties
Loud, boorish and/or overly jovial people

Henry-VIII-Anne-Boleyn-tudor-history-32405074-500-205.gif

History:

Christopher was the first of the royal children to be born, which meant from day one the heir to the throne was to be primed to become king. As a child, he wanted for nothing, with various nannies tending to his every need. He was privately tutored in a wide range of subjects, including music, languages, combat and history. The main thing he lacked during his childhood was the love and warmth of his parents themselves. They were more detached to the eldest son, hoping to raise a man who would grow to become a strong and fearless king.

He adored his siblings when he was younger, especially as spending time with them was his only escape from his excessive duties and education. He tries to ignore those memories, the ones where he played, had fun and was happy, now deeming the associated feelings as a weakness. As a boy, he was frequently told he was weak and inept by his father. Whilst he was being punished and tortured by his own father, in the name of making him a strong man, he knew everyone else was getting the best of the king. Although the king was known to oversee harsh punishments to proven criminals, his other five children and most people within the castle knew their king to be a good and kind ruler.

By his mid-teens, Christopher had learned that if he were to be a successful king, he would have to do as he was instructed by shutting out his emotions and focusing harder on his duties. Regardless, nothing could stop him from feeling bitter and jealous of how much easier his siblings had it, so he gradually stopped having fun with them. He decided he had to sacrifice his own happiness for now and patiently wait until he did become king, when he could then take back all of the pleasure and whatever else he felt was owed to him.

One of the most defining moments leading to him becoming the cold and calculating man he is now was the loss of Catherine, back when he was eighteen. She was a young French-speaking woman who was tasked with tutoring him in the language. After many lessons, she had seen through his chilly exterior and became one of the very few people he could truly express himself with. Despite trying to cut such feelings out of his character, Christopher found himself falling for his tutor. Their secret relationship barely lasted a month before the truth found its way back to the king. and she was hanged for treason. Christopher was severely punished for apparently betraying the country's wishes by cavorting with a woman other than the one his parents would eventually choose to be his wife. After that, he learned he would have to cut out his heart if he were to survive his father long enough to become king.

Over the last few years, Christopher has proven himself to his father and become the strong man he was intended to be. As the king grows tired and weary, he is giving the eldest prince more power and decision-making on his behalf. Although the king has disagreed with some of the crueller punishments, he had no choice but to accept this is the future king he created. Given the growing political tensions with their neighbouring countries, he wants to know the country has a decisive leader in Christopher, should the country go to war. When word reached the king that Anais had developed a close friendship with a servant who others had often accused of being a promiscuous atheist, she was tortured into confessing her corruption. The servant never confessed and Christopher subsequently ordered her execution. He knew deep down he believed she was honest, but Catherine had also been honest and she was hanged simply for being close to him.

Christopher is now engaged to be married, his betrothed chosen by his parents...
**Part about his fiancee to be added**

Anais Thair Ravenwood
Age: 15

Gender: Female

CGFsxAZWEAEdiig.jpg

Role: The youngest and cutest Princess

Skills: Anais is skilled in a lot of areas, due to the fact her tastes are all over the place. She's an adept gardener, an above average painter, and seamstress in training. Her best skill is talking, as she can sustain a conversation all on her own if given the chance.

Personality: Bubbly and excitable, the youngest princess certainly has the most energy. When she's not being bound to her studies, she can be found wandering the castle, pestering (and sometimes helping) the servants, and playing outside in the gardens. Despite the fact she is quickly becoming a woman, Anais doesn't seem to be in any hurry to grow up. Her kind heart and open mind means she's a bit on the gullible side, and she's more than a little naive, blind to the seething unrest which lies just beneath the surface in her home. Or at least, she was, until her friend, a servant she'd secretly been helping, was killed, brutally. In light of this terrible event, young Anais has been feeling down, plagued by feelings of guilt centered around this ghastly event. She does her best to hide it though, out of fear that if she acts strange it may lead to more servants being harmed.

Fears: Her elder brother, though she once loved him, the recent events have made her fear him above all else. The only thing more terrifying is the fact soon he is going to take the throne.
Anais is also scared of bees, large, eight legged insects and lastly arithmetic (while she's been told this isn't a legitimate fear, Anais says math gives her nightmares).

Likes: She likes her different hobbies, as well as spending time with her siblings. However, she also likes spending time with the servants, she'd befriended many simply by following them about, and occasionally assisting them with their duties. She also likes sweets, especially pie. Apple pie to be specific.

Dislikes: Her eldest brother, any sort of math, bees, which oddly enough are all things she fears. She also hates spicy foods ( as they are the polar opposite of sweet). Anais also dislikes horses, one time one of the beasts bit her and she's been uncomfortable around them ever since.

History: Anais is a bubbly and curious young girl, and when she is left to her own devices, will always find some way to entertain herself. Sometimes, this lead her to accompany the servants as they worked through out the day, what she thought had been a harmless (and secret) series of friendships had gotten one of her close friends killed, after a brutal torture session. This has not only stopped Anais's adventures with the staff, it has opened her eyes to the seething mass of unrest that lies just beneath the surface in her family. And now that she's seen it, the bubbly princess will never be quite the same.

Extra: She has freckles, but from a young age was taught to cover them with makeup. She also has a birthmark on her right shoulder blade, which she swears up and down looks like a constellation.

And there we go :) Let me know if there's anything I need to edit or fix.

• Persuasion
• Archery
• Chess
• Speaking French

Likes:
• Climbing out windows
• Chess

• The forest
• Being crafty

Dislikes:
- The Prince
- Azalea taking huge risks
- Being lied to
- Secrects
- Mention of his past being brought up
- Other people trying to see through his walls

Personality:
Liam is a devilish, charming and cocky man. One moment he can be a player and heart stealer and the next he could show a shocking amount of depth. He is flirtatious and very much the sweet talker, it comes smoothly and easily for him to lie and act every bit of the person he pretends to be when he wants to. Underneath his own many layers and mask is a charming, genuine person whom would do anything for the people he cares about.

Fears:
* Dolls
* His secret with Azalea being found out
* Caring for others
* Not being good enough
* Failure

History:
Liam is a Frenchman, born originally in a wealthy, noble family that was full of secrets, for his family was wealthy, but that was only because they were all thieves. Liam enjoyed being a thief enough, but at a young age tired of France and ventured out to England to steal, when he lay eyes on the palace, he knew it would be a perfect place to win his family's pride.

It was a delicate operation for such a small boy, only nine years old when he persuaded himself a position in the palace as a page working under a royal guard as he lay eyes on all the costly valuables in the palace, he of course had to find which were more easier and valuable to steal, this would take a while.

When he was ten years old, it was past midnight when he felt a pair of eyes watching him as he practiced his swordarm against a practice dummy in the outdoor training grounds. However, they were so cleverly hidden Liam could not find them until an hour later he fought the shadow of someone small trying to sneak away. Liam picked up a rock and threw it into the darkness, where he heard his target crumple to the floor. He ran over to the unconscious boy and flipped him over unto his back, only to discover it was in fact a she dressed in boys clothes, thinking she looked vaguely familiar, he unpinned her cleverly hidden hair from her cap, and as loose gold waves framed her face, Liam was horrified as he realized he'd just knocked out the eldest princess.

He dragged her deeper into the forest in sheer panic, wanting to apologize before she woke up and ran to the guards and he was executed. When she woke up, instead of bursting into tears like any girl might waking up in that situation, she marched straight up to him and boxed him straight in the face! Before he could even begin sweet-talking her, she demanded he teach her how to use a sword, if he didn't, she would tell on him. Liam thought this was gravely unfair, but the princess would hear none of it and she stubbornly walked away after arranging meeting times to train in private, though much to Liam's objections.

Liam did not go easy on the princess when it came to swordplay, what surprised him more is she seemed to enjoy the challenge. What was at first a bitter resentment quickly blossomed into friendship by their early teens, and into romance by their late teens. By then, he had long since forgotten thievery and became Azalea's personal guard. Liam knows he walks a fine line between life and death by being intimate with Azalea, and would do anything to make sure his secret was kept safe.

Personality:
Cassandra is a warm, friendly and kind-hearted woman. She is good at listening to others and will often go out of her way to solve their problems. She has quite a maternal instinct where the royal children are concerned and doesn't like to see any of them upset. Although she has been single for ten years, she is very flirtatious and outspoken around her male friends, often finding being in their company more refreshing. Anyone would be a fool to think such a nice woman is weak. Cassandra has a sharp tongue, potentially cunning mind, and isn't afraid to make her opinions known. With both her life experiences and social standing, she isn't afraid to stand up to people, male or female. She has been known to snap at the eldest prince on occasion, but has so far gotten away with it. Regardless, she does fear for the future if Christopher is to become king and knows she will have to start choosing her words to him more wisely.

D-Artagnan-and-Milady-de-Winter-the-musketeers-bbc-38102529-245-245.gif

History:
The daughter of the Duke of Cambridge, Cassandra has known the royal family since she was a child. She often accompanied her parents to the the palace upon royal invitations and grew quite fond of the royal family from a young age. She was educated to the highest standard, both academically and socially. Cassandra was sixteen when her mother died from a long-term illness and with her father often absent from the manor, the teenager accepted an invitation to become a nanny to the royal children.

Christopher was just a baby when Cassandra first started her role, so she was able to see first hand the years when the eldest prince was still considered human. A few years later, Azalea was born and then the younger four siblings came along. Cassandra grew fond of all the royal children, learning of their own personalities and needs. Those first ten or so years were the happiest she had seen the palace.

Whilst working at the palace, Cassandra learned from the King that her father had succumbed to ill health, just as her mother had. She made sure to contain her grief around her children, but found comfort in one of the knights, Sir David Harewood. It wasn't long before the pair fell in love and became engaged. Around this time, Cassandra ceased being a nanny and was instead promoted to be a tutor to the children and supervisor of the female servants.

Ten years ago, the King once again delivered bad news to Cassandra, informing her that David had been killed in battle against the French. The news hit her hard and she hid away for a time, trying to overcome her grief. It was only the unrest in the palace which snapped her back into her normal self. She could see Christoper begin to change. At first, she could see only fear and pain in his eyes, but this gradually turned to cold hatred. She knew the child they had known was lost, perhaps forever, and she vowed to stay around the palace to help the royal children in the years to come.

In the ten years since David died, Cassandra has been so busy with her duties to think of her own future and happiness. This is something which she deeply regrets, fearing she will one day be rejected by the palace and become an old spinster.

"The world is filled with Tyrants, I can only wish that I will never become one."

(In Commoner Clothing)

(In Noble Clothing)

Age
: 17

Role: Prince 2

Skills: Being a Comedian, Sword Fighting, Thievery, Parkour, Singing, Dancing

Personality: Arthur is some what of a relaxed and laid back person and usually tends to enjoy the smaller things of life although he can be energetic and comedic aswell when talking to people or meeting them. He is also Generous and helpful to those who are in need which makes his standing with the peasents good and is trusted by many as he has proven to be a trustable person.

Alignment: Chaotic Good.

Fears:
Christopher
Power.
Money.
His Father.

Likes:
Jesters.
Sword Fighting.
Comedy.
Happy Peasents.
Stories.
Lady Cassandra.
His Sisters.

Dislikes:
His Older Brother Christopher
Peoples lust for power.
Tyrants.
Seriousness.
Money.
His Father's decisions.
War.

History:
Although being born of Noble Heritage Arthur was never really normal like the rest of the siblings in his family, he would talk with peasent children and play with them, get dirty, eat the food the peasents eat and do things peasents do such as thievery and giving the money he stole to those who need it the most. This behavior caused him to be a outcast of the family and although he was still accepted and treated like a Noble most of his family would view him as a 'Bastard' although he was born of pure noble blood.

Although his family would treat him like an outcast Arthur didn't want his families acceptance and Instead cared about the people of the land and he would grow up with this mindset not being swayed by his family to think otherwise.

This mindset caused him to fear his brother though as he knew his brother was not like him...well no-one is but he wasn't like anyone in the family, yes his brother did act noble but unlike his father his older brother didn't seem to care for the peasents and seemed to view them as toys and subjects that had no say on what went on in the government and this worried Arthur causing him to try to further himself away from his brother as far as possible but it was not always like this as his brother was once a good man but just like the books arthur read about Tyrants the changes of his brother were similar to that of what made the Tyrants into Tyrants and this reassured his hatred for his brother.

And for his father he already disliked him for trying to sway him of his opinions but when he saw him allowing his brother Christopher to become the king he was filled with more negative attitude towards him. He wondered and wondered how his father could allow Christopher to become king out of all the siblings.

While Arthur doesn't believe himself worthy of king he certainly thought his brother Oliver was more worthy of the title of King as he thinks Oliver is more serious and able to come up with solutions to the problems that the commoners in the kingdom had with the current government.

(WIP I plan to expand it more but I must write it out on a word doc before posting the full thing.)

Oliver Charles Ravenswood

tumblr_miltq4kWlC1qhtzooo1_250.gif

Age: 20
Gender: Male
Role: Prince 3 (The middle one)
Skills:

  • Archery
  • Playing the violin
  • Chess
  • Hunting game
  • Speaking French
Personality:
Oliver is extremely protective of his little sister, Anais. He knows that she is too friendly with the servants around the castle, and he feels as if he needs to somehow teach her that she has to act more regally around the castle. He believes that his other younger siblings are capable without him as they are already are, or almost are, adults. Oliver can often be seen stressing over Anais if he feels as if she is doing something that a princess shouldn't be doing, such as helping servants with their work. Oliver is polite to most people, even if he doesn't actually like them. He acts serious when meeting with visitors and rarely speaks with strangers unless he is asked a question. He is extremely honest towards others, even if it may not be what they want to hear. Oliver is rarely sociable with people that aren't a member of his family, which could be seen as a bit cold of him. But when Oliver is with his siblings he acts friendly and kind, not being as bothered about whether what he is saying is regal or not. Oliver knows how most of his siblings feel about Christopher, but he secretly looks up to him and respects his attitude and strictness. Even if he does look up to his older brother he is still also afraid of him, as he knows that Christopher will soon be king and he worries that the public aren't going to be too pleased about it.

Fears:

  • Fire
  • Horses
  • His older brother
  • Anais getting into serious trouble with servants
  • Himself not being seen as responsible
Likes:
  • Most of his siblings
  • Reading
  • Hunting
  • Nature
  • Lady Cassandra
Dislikes:
  • Arthur Ravenswood (he feels that he doesn't act like a proper prince should act)
  • Servants trying to start a conversation with him
  • The dark
  • Liam Durand (in his opinion Liam is corrupting Azalea, although he would never admit that)
  • Horses
History:
Oliver was born as the third eldest child in the Ravenswood family. As a child he never caused much trouble, and he was always obedient to his parents and tutors. As he was growing up he often followed Christopher's footsteps, looking up to him as a role model. He never knew what his older brother was going through, and never thought that his father would do something so evil as to torture him.
While Oiver was learning how to ride a horse he had a dreadful accident. He had been riding his horse with his mentor when a fox dashed in front of them. This had frightened their horses. While the mentor quickly regained control of his horse Oliver had been thrown off. His horse had then kicked him in his right shin before galloping off, breaking Oliver's knee badly. After that incident he had to have crutches for almost 6 months. Because of this he grew to fear horses, and he never learned how to ride a horse.

Extra: I just want to say that I don't actually hate Liam Durand or Arthur Ravenswood, I just think that MC wouldn't like them.:P

Lily-Rose

Age: 13
*Deceased NPC

l7979a.jpg

Lily-Rose was a young servant girl, who grew up in the Ravenswood household. She was befriended by the youngest princess, Anais, while she was stationed in the gardens. Anais loves gardening, and she also loves talking, to anyone who will listen. Given it is her duty to serve the royal family, Lily felt compelled to listen as Anais went on and on about flowers and the like. These little meetings continued, as Anais had taken a liking to the young servant, she was around her age, and Anais enjoyed talking to her. A friendship slowly blossomed between the two of them, over the course of several months.

Ananis did her best to keep her friendship with Lily a secret, she new such a thing was taboo, but the girl never understood the divide between the servants and her family. Yes, they were royalty, and Lily was the help, but in Anais' eyes, that didn't make her less of a person. Lily was calm and reliable, and she worked wonders to help curb some of Anais's wild side. She got the princess to take her studies more seriously, she taught her about the chores she did (mostly because Anais asked) and all in all, she was Anais's best friend.

When Lily was arrested and tortured, the girl pleaded for her life, and claimed that she'd done nothing to corrupt the princess, she'd simply been doing what she felt made the princess happy. She never confessed to the crimes she supposedly committed, but even if she had, it wouldn't have mattered. Nothing she said could've prevented her death, which devastated Anais and drove a wedge between her and her family, mainly her father and eldest brother.

Is an expert on the occult and is a practicing wiccan but keeps it extremely quiet due to prior instances going awry.

Personality:

As a child, Lolotte felt obligated to live up to her parent's expectations and became quite the perfectionist as a result. As an adult, Lolotte attempts to mask her control-freak nature with a carefree attitude, going so far as to appear calm, witty, and downright flirty at times. There are moments where she is childish and it leads to others thinking of her as immature and naive, but in actuality it's simply her scheming secrets or having her head in the clouds. Because her childhood fears were never resolved, Lolotte inadvertently still has them clinging to her and strives to impress people she deems worthy of getting praise from. She may come across as cocky, but if she meets a person who appeals to her sensitivities then she is bound to want to get close to them and learn from them, perhaps even coming across as easily excitable or fawning (in her own way) in their presence. Because of the way she was raised, Lolotte attempts to keep her penchant for the occult very quiet and often stuns others with her knowledge of such jargon. Due to her perpetual fascination with the occult, keeping her mouth shut about it is insanely difficult and occasionally she finds herself blabbing about these things without realizing it, luckily only to her theatre troupe. She has learned to fear death at the hands of the occult from her mother, and so she strives to adhere to superstition at all times. Secretly, she feels as though she will die young and tends to idealize it to ease her fear of herself dying, though it is debatable about whether that coping mechanism actually works out. Low-key believes that dying young and in her prime is preferable to living long enough to see her adventuring abilities die out. Even though this conflicts with Lolotte's high-esteem of herself. Lolotte is startlingly good with children, channeling motherly cues she noticed as a child from other childrens' mothers. However, she does not think she'd be a good mother based on how her own mother had raised her. Believes she'd grow too stiflingly bossy, and eventually bored, something she does not want any child to go through. Ever since she was a child, Lolotte had a sort of self-sacrificing streak, putting her all into things so that others wouldn't feel hurt, especially if they were looking for what was best for her. This was often confused for over-ambition, a child doing her best because she was simply that well-behaved and well-trained, and later it did turn into high ambition. But as restrictions tightened around her, Lolotte became very self-preserving and eager for some sort of escapism. These two contrasting personality traits become at odds with each other multiple times. Her inability to stomach knowing that others would be hurt because of her just for the sake of someone else's selfish gain often won out in the end so long as she knew she calculated a clear escape route. Because of her row with untrustworthy authoritarian figures, this trait of hers is arguably the source of friction between she and said figures.

Ever since she was a child, Lolotte remained quite the introvert despite her penchant for gossip, and she quickly learned to juggle a charismatic persona despite being bookish to the point of noticing things that others don't. Hides her true emotions from public eyes more than she'll admit because they'd interfere with her work, hence why they sometimes come out in bursts unless she confides to trustworthy sources or unless she is around others who can read her emotional ticks. Her opinions, however, are a different matter entirely. When she has a problem with something, she does not bother to hide it, but can show signs of passive-aggression until it is directly confronted. Despite Lolotte's high regard of herself physically, emotionally, and intellectually, she is shockingly insecure when it comes to romantic relationships, awkward and rambling because she feels like she can't and shouldn't lie to her loved ones the way she lies to the rest of the world. She's inexperienced at the whole dating thing no matter what she wants people to believe and when her flirtations fall flat she gets horribly embarrassed and berates herself afterwards. Lolotte displaying such affections have been known to be charming, endearing, and downright adorkable at times. When it comes to people she adores, Lolotte is very forward with her affections, but not in an overtly sexual manner, given her discomfort and inexperience with sex. She may feel attracted physically to someone, but she'd never cross that line without being clear that the other person was also into it. Cheesy pick-up lines riddled with bad puns aren't off the table, unfortunately. On a somewhat darker note, because of her mothers' iron tight grip and the negative connotations with infidelity equating sexual practices in her head, Lolotte is purely content with simple signs of affection. Yet even with that she can be seen as going overboard, discarding any unwillingness to hold hands or throwing herself at her loved ones should her emotions get the better of her. She ironically forgets that her own scruples with sudden physical contact could be identical to others'. Oddly enough given her clingy demeanor, Lolotte isn't the jealous type. Because of her high opinion of herself and her no-nonsense independence, Lolotte sincerely believes that she is irreplaceable to those who truly value her.

When scurrying about the theatre, Lolotte's persona comes across as a cheery, playful, yet seemingly aimless young woman with bookish tendencies and a knack for gossip. Bookish bossy romantic idealist. Those are her true colors, hence her running about the theatre that way. She is as efficient as she is cunning and holds the reputation of having a "school teacher" kind of bossiness when working of tasks when needed. Lolotte is good at being in charge, but it's mostly out of her need for control rather than anything else. When working around the dregs of society, one must have a very high sense of willpower, after all. Newcomers don't believe that she's working outside the castle since she's seen as flighty and a dreamer, but her cunning and her mischievous nature throws people off guard. Because of her upbringing, Lolotte has become a near consummate liar and a keen bluffer, able to think on her feet and use her resourcefulness to her advantage. Let her keep talking and she manages to twist lies to truth and vise versa until you are tangled in her web with nowhere to go but down and away. Lolotte is described as a needy game player because of her manipulative controlling behavior, but ultimately means well. As a royal staff member, she strives to be a good person, not exactly fond of being unkind or totally dishonest unless she's protecting those close to her.

Lolotte is a tad bit softer than the unsavory folk she works with, described as an honest but clever sweetheart with a bit of egomania. Her need for compassion and kindness, not to mention her touchy-feely body language, oftentimes makes it clear that she cares so the rest don't have to. Since she's clever and her loyalties are difficult to earn, it is questionable about whether she is just working for both sides of society for a reward or a distraction, whether she is testing someone's authority and the lengths they'd go, or whether she genuinely cares about any of the people she works with. Her penchant for honesty to those she trusts, although it may come across as harsh and at times insensitive, ultimately comes from wanting to see the people she works with improve and to let them know what she thinks of their work at the moment. It can also come across as encouragement when paired with her optimism, seeing that she roots for them to follow their ambitions when they feel too defeated to fight. Speaking of optimism, Lolotte is actually very optimistic as a way to combat the viciousness of her lot in life. She's determined enough to not let even the bleakest circumstances cut her down, and it is mostly so she can feel in control of something in her situation, that something being herself. Once she lets the hopelessness of a situation settle into her bones, there's a strong chance that she'd feel like she lost control and become more desperate to escape the situation at hand.

In contrast to her outward seemingly-adventurous and carefree way of going about, Lolotte is actually quite cultured. Her whimsical way of being with show-goers tends to steer people into thinking that she is just a fanciful and nosy young woman, but she has a great eye for literature as well as the arts, having been raised in an environment that demanded she learn dancing and singing as well as acting. She prides herself on it and, when given the chance, shows excitement in expressing her love of these things. She is actually quite good at remembering things as well, luckily a fast learner in response to her lifestyle: recite it once, read it twice, write it once, and she shan't forget it. Lolotte is stubbornly independent-minded despite her sweet-talking demeanor, and her intelligence and bravery make her a fine ally once her loyalty has been secured. She detests being pitied because it makes her feel uncomfortably inferior so she strives not to have people pity her and therefore doesn't exactly seek help when she should because of her stubborn independence. Her need for control skyrockets then as a defense mechanism and, if it falters, her normally controlled emotions run rampant: she cries which only makes her angrier which causes her to break things. Needless to say, she's learned to fight through her tears, knowing that stopping them when they start is a futile attempt. This emotional behavior works both ways. With Lolotte's longing for adventure and excitement comes a sense of recklessness that is painful to watch should she go overboard. It is also almost impossible to deter because of her stubborn streak. When she is associating closely with her less-than-respectable conrades then her carefree royal staff member facade lessens slightly to reveal a more hardened, less fearful, and fiercely loyal young woman who, despite her initially soft nature, has embraced the philosophy of "the ends justify the means". She is no stranger to cold-blooded decisions and, despite her fear of death, can understand the decisions being made but wants to feel assured that they had to be made. Three things always stays the same, however: her high emotions, her child-like adventurous streak, and her unending curiosity. They're what have kept her in the game for so long.

Fears:

Lolotte is noticeably superstitious. Drop salt and she’ll flick it over your shoulder when you least expect it, and the like. One thing that she does fear immensely is huge canines of any sort, and they surely have mixed views about her. To an extent, she fears her family and what they’ll do to her once they find her. She fears death above all else and has convinced herself that she shall die young as a weak attempt to steel herself.

History:
(Note: this is a watered down version of her actual history to keep things concise so things like family are minimized in favor of the present. If elaboration is needed, feel free to let me know. :D)

Raised by upper-class socialites Marguerite Dresden and Lucius Dresden, Lolotte had a normal upbringing with her eldest siblings, Liselotte, Dominic, and Regulus. With her being the youngest child, she was spoiled for the most part in terms of material possessions and tutors, living a relatively carefree childhood that was in her parents’ favors as well as her sibling’s guiding – although not entirely good-natured – hands. Their mother, a recent widow who had married rich to ensure the safety of her children, favored the eldest two, since they naturally held the most promise. Lolotte and Regulus were left to their own devices, untouched for the most part and allowed to pursue more artistic endeavors. They were lucky not to be scrutinized by their stepfather, as all the children had strained relationships with him no matter how friendly they all were in public. Their father, a magician of a man who was as much of a shadowy figure to the children as he had been to the public, lingered in their memories – albeit a bit embellished, admittedly – and the paradise the children were in was merely a cocoon of protection against the harsh environment of the outside world.

Still, there came a day when the household fell about them, their secrets tumbling out ever so slowly. That was the day that Liselotte disappeared into the night on her way home from a small gathering of friends. Her carriage had been intercepted and she had been taken. Now, while Liselotte had never been the most model young woman, she was the eldest that held the most responsibility, particularly in the realm of marriage and general moral upstanding. In the span of a few days, that pressure was foisted onto their remaining girl, along with the etiquette, expectations, mannerisms, and all matters of young womanhood. Cruelly, there lay the ironclad confines to prevent any more disappearing acts – it was one thing to lose one daughter, but the family could not afford to lose two.

And yet that would be the case regardless.

What was once an environment free to explore had become a gilded cage, and Lolotte frantically looked for a way out. For each inch that closed in around her, secrets slick as oil were intent on drowning her: Lucian was not as charitable as he initially seemed. Instead, he was merely taking back the daughter that was once his and now that she was gone, he saw very little worth protecting. Meanwhile, Marguerite’s actions began compromising her words, leading to frequent searches of Lolotte’s previously safe havens. Due to such fierce restrictions and invasions of privacy, Lolotte became a keen liar and bluffer to distance herself from her mother’s watchful eyes. She strived for control of whatever she oculd get including herself. Each step towards maturity that her mother attempted to foist her into only led Lolotte to crave the childhood and petulance that had been stripped away from her at far too ripe an age. It was when she was fifteen that Lolotte made the rash decision to run away, talk of marriage shackles leading her heart to steer her towards the streets.

After a few months of going back to their roots of conning to get by, Lolotte was taken in by a theatre troupe. She was cared for and eventually raised amongst the throng of con-artists and poets. She had found a home long-lost amongst them, and gew into a fine young thespian who was more ambitious with winning a show’s success than she was at finding a suitor on her arm. Whilst finishing a strangely private performance, Lolotte was approached by none other than the royal family herself. It seemed that her role, in particular, had captured the attention of the second eldest princess, Aalie.

Well, that was loverly, to say the least. Just provide some inspiring words to the princess and thank the royals for their patronage, right? Not exactly, no. The queen insisted on having her join them at their abode in an attempt to placate Aalie’s interests in the arts. Lolotte was not only to be the girl’s tutor, but her escort to the theatre since the girl often snuck off unannounced, and that simply wouldn’t do. To avoid the rather tension-filled air this conversation was headed – as if she was to blame for the girl meandering off, for criminy’s sake! – Lolotte accepted the proposal. It has been three years since then, and Lolotte honestly relates more to the staff than her employers, to be sure. Despite Lolotte’s reluctance to get too close to the royal family, Aalie and her theatre-loving kin retain a special place in her heart.

Extra:
Lolotte still works with the theatre troupe, but mostly on weekends. On weekdays she wanted to work late nights, but it wasn’t recommended once the servants started getting killed off. Too suspicious, her superior tutors advised her.

Age:
23
Gender:
Male
Role:
Prince from France in England to negotiate terms of an engagement to Azalea.
Skills:
- Problem Solving
- Hand to Hand Combat
- Archery
- Gardening
- Persuasion
- Flirting

Personality:
To most people, Lyle is very cocky. He's arrogant and full of himself, but you can't help but love him because of these things. He's outgoing but he'll only talk to you if he thinks you're worth his time. However, if he does find you worth his time, he becomes fond of you very quickly and he is very over protective. He will fight anyone who crosses him or his friends. He's prone to violence and anger but only if he's provoked by others. But despite all of this Lyle is the biggest hopeless romantic. He dreams of finding his one true love. Because of this quest to find love, he has been characterized to be a player. So much so that French nobles have dubbed him the "Duke of Duchesses". Lyle enjoys this name far too much and plays on his reputation. Because somehow being a player makes him more appealing? Besides being a "player", Lyle is very smart and has a fondness for mathematics and science. While growing up it wasn't uncommon to find Lyle with the royal inventors.
Fears:
Lyle's biggest fear is that he'll never find someone to truly love. He understands that as a prince, especially the Prince to France, it is not guaranteed that he will live a long and happy live with a woman he loves. But he does hope that whoever he does marry, can grow to love him and he can do the same. He also fears the loss of people close to him. Since losing his grandmother, the thought of losing anyone else breaks his heart.
Likes:
+ Flowers
+ Mathematics
+ Science
+ Flirting
+ Long Walks
+ Being Challenged

Dislikes:
- Not getting his way
- Spicy Food
- Cold Hearted People
- Prince Christopher (He's too uptight. Relax Dude)
- Insensitive People
- The Butchering of his Native Language

History:
Lyle grew up a mama's boy. Specifically a grandmama's boy. His grandmother, Her Majesty Gizella Dubois, Queen Mother to Jean Dubois, was Lyle's entire world. Granted Lyle had cousins and siblings and she loved them just as much as she loved Lyle, but the two of them had an unbreakable connection. Being a prince of a powerful country, Lyle grew up sheltered and had many long lessons on how to be a great ruler and it all bored him stiff. He wanted nothing more than to go outside and see his kingdom. To feel the sun on his cheeks but sadly he stayed cooped up in the castle. His grandmother was good about making him feel better about being stuck inside. She would host grand parties and invite nobles from everywhere just so her grandson could make friends and feel like he wasn't a shut in. Around the age of 15, Lyle's grandmother died and the entire family was distraught. Lyle was hit hard by his grandmother's death and he didn't leave his room for at least a month. Later, when he turned 18, he begged his parents to let him get a tattoo in her memory. Tattoos are widely associated with the poor and outlaws but Lyle had seen some beautiful tattoos on some of the merchants who came to the castle to drop off goods. After much begging and pleading, Lyle got a tattoo of an iris, his grandmother's favorite flower, on his forearm.
Extra:
Lyle is in England with the French diplomat to help aid in negotiations of a marriage. But he will not force Azalea into anything. He wants her to marry him of her own free will. But he will do everything in his power to win her over.

Personality:
Rosaline is very quiet, and it's not just because she's deaf, but because she's afraid to talk to literally anyone. She has serious issues with social anxiety, to the point of almost never leaving the castle. Despite being extremely shy, Rosaline is probably the kindest person you'll ever meet. She's always thinking about others and putting friends and family before herself. She likes the feeling of helping other people and gets a great deal of satisfaction out of it. She also loves to paint. She finds it relaxing and she is often found sketching things in her copious sketchbooks for paintings later.
History:

- Rosaline grew to believe that her sister and mother's deaths were her fault.
- Once Rosaline was old enough, her father shipped her off to a boarding school in England so he wouldn't have to be faced with the constant reminder of his lost family.
- Rosaline found solace at school and became a very talented painter
- Being from a noble family in Germany, her father was able to set up a Lady ship for Rosaline in England. Rosaline became very close with the Princess Aalie and is content to spend her life serving her.

Jean-Luc Renard Colbert

Age:
45
Gender:
Male
Role:
French Diplomat
Personality:
Jean-Luc is a practical man. This makes him a very good diplomat in that way. He has always been able to find common ground between people and was often the mediator between friends while growing up. This hasn't always been a blessing, being stuck in between friends is never fun, but Jean-Luc has put his skills to good use and thoroughly enjoys his job as the French ambassador. While on this trip, he has also become Prince Lyle's caretaker. While prince may be an adult, he sure doesn't act like it, and Jean-Luc has found that out the hard way. Wrangling the prince has proven to be the hardest job he has ever taken on.

Name:
Lena R. Cova

Age:
17 years old (turns 18 in a day)

Gender:
Female

Appearance:
79089cad98929118b5bb9b8c4bf80767.jpg

Role:
Maid/servant to Christopher M. Ravenwood

Skills:
Cooking
Cleaning
Painting
Reading
Learning new languages fairly easy (She knows French and a very ancient Spanish language)

Personality:
Lena is a very loving, caring, nurturing, and respectful person. But she is very obedient and will follow the rules that are upheld. When you first meet her she is very shy and usually doesn't talk to others. She has a tough shell in which she spent years molding and masking her true feelings. Now she is quiet, somewhat Dauntless when she wants to be, and a very helpful servant. When Lena isn't doing chores or when everyone in the household has gone to sleep she sneaks away to the field and just reads. Lena has developed a few skills, she can easily learn a language quicker than most others. Besides that, she learned French because of the tutor that Prince Christopher had, every day when that tutor came over, since she would be in the room serving food or drinks to Christopher she would pick up a few things. She learned how to play the piano. Lena is very creative and she uses her creativity to paint and express how she is feeling. Lena will never back down from a challenge and she makes it her priority to put others before herself. Lena is very oblivious when it comes to love, she won't notice it even if it was in front of her. She hasn't been the luckiest girl when finding love nor has she ever been in love nor has anyone ever loved her the way she would like to be loved. She lost the feelings of what love is and what love feels like when you're with the right person so she drowns herself with work. A few bad traits that she has is how stubborn and cold she can be. Her being cold gets her in trouble with the head maid or with Prince Christopher. Lena also can be blunt, given the fact that she is usually quiet, she too has a sharp tongue.

Fears:
She has a fear of being left alone in the dark since she's seen so much darkness before she came to this kingdom she only fears that it may return to her.
Her other fear of being punished for something that she didn't do.

Likes:
Animals
Nature
Reading
Waking up before everyone else
Cooking

Dislikes:
Prince Christopher and how arrogant he can be
Spiders
Darkness
Violence
Loud noises

History:
Lena was born of Latin roots. Her father was a warrior and her mother was a merchant who sold fruits and vegetables. They didn't grow up having much, but they had each other and enough love to go around. Lena loved her life and didn't think that anything could happen to her. She grew up in a lovely town and everybody knew everybody. One day invaders came in and took everything from them, her parents did everything they could to protect Lena. That night, she saw her parents killed in front of her. Lena was then taken by those invaders where they tortured her and the other young girls in their village. Lena spent a month on their boat where they tried to take advantage of her but didn't succeed since she would always try fighting them off. Lena would receive punishment for her resisting. She even tried killing herself one night by going overboard and trying a barrel to her ankle. Her attempt at death was a fail when one of the crew men went in to get her after five minutes. Lena didn't see a point in continuing on if all she was going to experience was hardship and suffering by these baboons. Every time she resisted they took the liberty in give her a marking and reminding her of what has happened to her. When they finally reached land, she was taken to a market where she was viewed as an object in an auction she was placed at a high bid for her beauty.

Lena knew immediately her life was over, she still could accept the fact that her life could end up that way. She was brought by a servant that worked for the king as a personal servant/maid for his son. Lena ever since then hated the king and his successor who would become king. Lena hated the fact that she was going to be bossed around. When Lena first started off working in the palace, it was hard to keep up and follow the fast pace. Lena would receive punishments for how blunt she was and how she couldn't follow instructions. Every day, Lena would try and perfect everything and be the best she could in order to not
receive any more punishments. Lena saw she did no wrong, but when you disrespect the Prince, it's like asking for a death wish. Lena kept her mouth shut after those few years. Lena only responds with a nod or a simple 'mhmm.' It's been a year since she has been serving the Prince and she has still been living her, working for the Royals.

Age:
20

Gender:
Male

Role:
Guard

Skills:
Agility / Swordsmanship / Card games / Dexterity / Arithmetic / Street smarts / Knife-fighting / Social adeptness

Personality:
It's easy enough to be distracted by his laid-back, humorous exterior without seeing the sharp and calculating mind behind it - a little 'trick', if you will, that Rowan's come to be well versed in. He's playful, proud, curious, charming when he needs to be; he knows how to use people, how to gain their trust and then manipulate them six ways from Sunday. But ability aside, he takes surprisingly little pleasure in doing so. He may be a criminal, but he's not entirely without moral standards. His extensive social network is no fluke, after all - he's highly sociable, engaging, preferring to build relationships through genuine interaction, and unexpectedly loyal to those he sees as deserving. But he also often has the habit of leading people on to believe they're a part of this 'worthy bunch', when, in truth, these people who actually have his loyalties are often few and far between. With everyone else, he can be particularly fickle. It does wonders for getting in people's good books, though.

Nonchalant and mischievous as he can be, Rowan is wilful and independent, and has a tendency to become especially fierce and vindictive if he feels like he's been wronged or backed into a corner, where he often resorts to lashing out without thinking. As it is with his fox-like character, he's a survivalist above all else. He's hard to pin down, making for an interesting time when it comes to romantic relationships; it causes him to become both erratic, evasive and callous - often providing no explanation - if he feels like he's got too close to someone. But at the same time, he has a sort of underlying subconscious need for closeness, friendship and affection that he's always unconsciously trying to fulfil by surrounding himself with others. He's also fiendishly stubborn, which is just no fun for anyone.

Fears:
Getting caught / Confined spaces / Dying for a king and country he feels little allegiance to

Likes:
Alcohol / Heights / Complaining about the weather / Passive disobedience / Winning fights / His lucrative side-business / Tending to his social networks / Climbing trees / The night sky / Music / Card games / Causing a lil' trouble / Cats

Dislikes:
Strenuous activity / Liars (the hypocrite) / His job / Listening to other people complaining about the weather / Idiots / Mindless obedience / Not knowing things / Stress / Any infringement on his independence / Loneliness / His social authority being undermined

History:
Rowan recalls little of the time before he was brought into the thieves' organisation; most of what he knows he was was told to him by those who found him - a sharp, unwashed, somewhat feral child of... Uncertain heritage. But he's since decided it means little to him. He took the surname of the man who supposedly found him, though he never exactly turned out to be much of a father figure.

It was to be expected that, after growing up surrounded by criminals and their trade, he would take a part in it - he had mellowed (somewhat, at least) and only increased in cunning, beginning to establish connections and dabbling in business and information from a relatively young age. He was clever, but he was also rash with his inexperience - to put it shortly, his activities started to get just a little too much of the wrong kind of attention. There was one guard in particular, too, someone he'd had several run-ins with and had been chasing Rowan for a while now. He wasn't sure of his identity, but he quickly came to regard him as some sort of arch-nemesis. But the inevitable happened, of course; the guards had hunted down his temporary hideout of sorts, breaking in late one night and arresting each and every one of his present associates, and burning it to the ground beneath the coming dawn.

But this guard, Donovan, as he would come to learn while being dragged bodily away from the burning building, wasn't quite done with him yet. Despite having been on his tail for a while now, he'd been surprised at how young Rowan actually turned out to be. Perhaps it was because of some noble notion that he could 'fix' this young, impressionable thief, as he saw it, that caused him to offer a bargain. Rowan was to be cut off from his lifestyle, be set right and taught the errors of his ways by joining the guards himself, and in return for his cooperation, perhaps something could be done about the sentencing of his accomplices. He hadn't needed to elaborate on this - Rowan was well aware of the severity of punishment they faced. Resentment aside, it didn't take long for him to make his decision.

Quite how Donovan had managed to soften their sentences, Rowan never found out - perhaps he held sway with those in charge, or pulled a favour or two, he didn't know - but he'd upheld his end of the bargain. But although the sentences were reduced his friends were still in custody and thus his power, acting as some kind of unspoken guarantee that he wouldn't bolt. Rowan saw it like that, at least; but despite his boiling anger, he clung on to his self control and was enrolled in the mandatory academy training once Donovan had him released. His background up to that point was carefully buried, of course - he was just a merchant's son, and so on, and so on. Rowan didn't see Donovan around much and he didn't often go out of his way to keep an eye on him, but he knew he was there nonetheless, and that was enough to infuriate him.

He played nicely enough for nearly a year; now 17, nearly 18, he was well integrated within the guards, even popular, and had found a good rapport with them despite his deep-rooted distrust. For a brief moment, perhaps Donovan's original intention began to be fulfilled - but that was only for the briefest of moments, after all. It wasn't long after that that Donovan was called away, like several others had been, to increase the forces at the coastal borders due to the growing tensions between countries. This was enough to shake Rowan out of his mild 'do-gooder' stupor. His own personal demon was gone. It didn't take him long at all to start to slowly fall back into his old ways, despite his drastic change in circumstance, set up his old connections, dip his hands back into the waters of the black markets.

Old habits die hard, after all.

Initially, his return was met with surprise, but it didn't take long for his to be readily welcomed back despite some's misgivings as to where his loyalties now lay. It was with no small amount of savage glee that he returned to this villainy, but he was a little wiser now. It was a hard lesson that he'd been taught, and not one he'll be likely to forget. He no longer took much of a part in the physical work, being limited in that respect by his job, but it certainly didn't stop him from expanding his business of information and connections and favours further than it had even been before. All that his close friends among the guards know is that he may have a few 'disreputable acquaintances' he spends time with, that he may know how to get something for you or get you information - he may know a guy for that job you want done, but only for a price. But this knowledge is only met with the humour of an inside joke, a wink in the corridor, a secret between friends, the true extent of his 'corruption' not being fully understood. After all, who doesn't have a few of those disreputable acquaintances themselves?

Age:
16

Gender:

Female

Role:

General Servant

Skills:

Cooking
Cleaning
Singing
Sewing

Personality:
Sarah is quite naive and a daydreamer. She tries to see the good in everything, even when surrounded by darkness. She can be talkative and funny, always trying to cheer the other servants and guards up. Her chatty nature has been known to get her into trouble at times and she lacks the ability to read unspoken situations. Despite being destined for servitude, she's quite a free-spirit who loves being outdoors in nature. She thinks the princesses are wonderful and envies their pretty dresses. She likes the princes too, choosing to blind herself to the crueller traits of the eldest when possible. No matter if she's guilty or innocent or breaking any rules, she will always blame herself, deeming the royal family and her peers better than herself.

Fears:

Being shouted at
Having no friends
Thunderstorms
Death and sickness
Fights and violence

Likes:
Sunshine
Flowers
Animals
Pretty dresses
Berries
The royal family

Dislikes:
Night-time
Thunderstorms
Shouting and fighting
Silence
Not being allowed to laugh or talk
Seeing others punished

History:

Sarah never knew her parents as she was left in the doorstep of an orphanage when she was just a few weeks old. Named and cared for the orphanage, she has never had a family. When she was eight years old, she was taken in as a servant for the royal family. Although the work was hard and her superiors strict, the palace became her home. She hadn't really had friends in the orphanage, but she made friends amongst the servants in the palace. Once of her friends was Lily, who was sadly hanged for being friends with once of the princesses.

Although she was sad by the death of Lily, Sarah is still very polite with the royal family and it hasn't put her off speaking with the princesses if the opportunity arises. The king can be scary, but mostly he has been nice to her, as has the queen and princes. She especially likes Arthur as he can be funny and energetic, often forcing her to hide her amusement so she doesn't get in trouble with her superiors. She has seen Christopher being cruel to people and has even been told off by him herself, but she has mostly avoided crossing his path too much.

Name: Helena (Lennie) Brooks
Age: 24
Gender: Female
Role: Royal Courier
Skills: Use of bladed weapons, disguise, forgery, acrobatics, horseback riding
----------------------------------------------------------------
Personality:
Daring, bold, and sometimes too eager to stand up for herself, Lennie is comfortable in her own skin and often sure of herself, though this can lead her to overlook sometimes important details or ignore small problems only for them to build up to haunt her in the future. She's charismatic, slippery-minded, and has a crushing lack of trust for anyone. She seldom accepts help and can end up stretching herself too thin trying to handle everything alone. She takes pride in her work and her actions, even if those actions may get her into trouble- such as breaking rules she finds unnecessary or stupid.

Fears:
- Being caged, tied, and/or restrained - Many-legged things - The Prince - Being shot - Losing a limb - Chains - Dying alone - Spiders - That her fate is not her own to control

Likes:
- Confusing people - Snakes - Having somewhere to run - Gold/money - Strong Willed Ladies - Darkness - Coffee - Practical clothing - Exploring - Street Dancers - Rumors

Dislikes:
- Stiff uniforms - The ocean - Dealing with snobby merchants or nobles - Being underestimated - Tea - Dresses - The Prince - Interference - Failing duties - Spineless grovelers - Crime guilds - The Church, the concept of a God

History:
From a young age, Lennie learned the streets and learned them well, being the daughter of a street performer and the youngest member of a traveling troupe with acts ranging from fire-eaters and dancers to knife-throwers and acrobatics artists. Less innocent than most children come, the girl was taught to get... extra patronage from the crowd, keep her head down and weave through, be light-handed and able to be lost among the bobbing heads in an instant. Once a teen and old enough to come out from backstage, Lennie turned the acrobatics act into one of three, height and unusual nimbleness making her ideal for the show. As she grew older, she came to call the whole troupe her family rather than just her mother, and when Miss Brooks passed away, they took Lennie on as their collective child.

Eventually work would call her from the streets to shadier business and the young woman often found herself doing courier work for one underground group or another, learning the tricks to identifying and losing a tail, taking faces and names, and becoming no one in the streets. The Spider's Snap, one of the thieves guilds in the city, ratted her out once to a slavers company. The package she thought she was to deliver, a small and rather important looking note, turned out to be a thank you and goodbye, leaving Lennie to run herself into a trap and spend the next years being shipped around Europe to work for various other guilds around the continent. She picked up Spanish, French, even a little Gaelic, and some broken German in this time before an assignment had her and her chains sent back to England where she became a courier to a British noble for two years before she was finally released. Having known nothing but running messages for the past seven years, Lennie was quick to offer herself to the industry again, this time to the crown if it would have her.

Now with two years working as the crown's messenger under her belt, the woman has had many important documents pass through her care and it would be a lie to say she didn't peek at at least one or two. She's helped stir trouble by sending things to other countries in the hand of one British official or another, nothing too disruptive- basic blackmail at best and only for a hundred or so pounds at a time. Her lifestyle is not lavish, despite this, as she reconnected with the troupe of her younger years and mails them money often.

Extra:
Big crush on Princess Azalea.

"I think tha bes' part 'f bein' me... 's that no one's gonna remember me. Lennie Brooks 's jus' gonna die 'n get replaced one day. There's nothin' I can do 'bout that. Bes' enjoy what 've got 'fore 's gone."
