World war 3 came to the world in 2026, and was a horrendous conflict. Nuclear fire engulfed the world yet the bloodshed did not end, bunkers and defense systems buzzed and shook causing most bombs to miss their marks and the majority would survive further infuriated by the nuclear exchanges. Afterwards the war fell into airstrikes and long range bombardments. Yet the damages were not yet being felt, trade routes were crippled in the initial strikes. As starvation and extreme poverty set in the number of people willing to fight continued to rise even as the number of munitions decreased. Soon missiles and fuel for vehicles would run out as well, their metals being melted down and converted into bullets and blades. Lacking the ability to provide any form of structure and the resources to maintain power world governments began to crumble replaced by feudal warlords. Power grids began to collapse, followed by communication networks, and eventually the world went silent and dark yet again.

By the time the dark ages came again the worlds population had been cut by as much as 95%. Either from war, attrition, disease, or the unrest that followed most of humanity found its end before the sky ever light up. While it may have ended some time before the event that signified the true end of the war, and the era which birthed the war was the Night of falling skies. As if the calamity of the war was not bad enough a gamma ray burst from our neighbor star Alpha Centauri struck the world directly knocking out all remaining electronics, causing the satellites to rain back down to earth in a storm of metal fragments. This event was followed by volcanic activity, earthquakes, and finally a millennial ice age.

Nearly a thousand years have passed since the night of falling skies, the remnants of man have wandered the world as nomadic tribes struggling to survive in the frigid snow. Yet as the world begins to warm and glaciers begin melting new territories are being revealed along with new species. The most notable of them are the nomadic tribe of the deviants, humans who had long been sealed in the northern wastes of Alaska where they shared territories with some of the most dangerous mega fauna and Deadly flora all the while permeated in the radioactive remnants of the gamma ray burst. These deviants boast genetic mutations that grant them powerful natural defenses that have left them as near undisputed apex predators with things such as poison spines and glands, defensive bone protrusions, and growths of muscle. Each has a different mutation and their close emotional bonds overpower their fear of differences allowing them to use each individual in the way that best benefit their tribes. Released from their territories by the melting ice they must now contend with the dozens of other nomadic tribes, the mutated animals, and of course their own expansion and internal conflicts…however if successful this clan may well change the world with their exceptional abilities and usurp mankind as the tenants of the earth.

Tldr
1000 years after the fall of man a tribe of nomadic mutants move south released by the end of an ice age. How will they effect the world?

Questions-
Who are the player characters?- player characters will be the Members of the deviant tribe. Each has a mutation and are allowed to have their own motivations. Please do not make your motivation to destroy your own clan or to be a violent sociopath.

What kind of story is this?- sorta a mix of a sandbox with a plot. There will be a few important quests that drive the plot, but for the most part its a characters decisions that will influence the story. Overly atrocious actions on your enemies may convince their neighbors that your clan is a threat.

what kind of mutations are there?- There are a wide variety of different mutations but the best way i can explain them in a blanket term is Biologically possible. These mutations arent exactly new as many of them are found already in nature, such as venomous barbs, Retractable claws, Night vision. No one is an unstoppable force, but you will have an edge granted by your mutation.
