Fantasy The Curse of South Fork Academy -- Character Sheet Thread

In the city of Saint Narmore, Massachusetts, everyone knows everyone, from the butcher's, to the baker, and even the pastor and bikers are chummy. On the outside, the town seems picturesque, one of those towns you see on cutesy postcards one would send children.

But, the town does have one dark shadow looming over it:

South Fork Academy.

On the surface, many would love to see their son or daughter attend this high school. Many alumni have managed scholarships to Harvard, Yale, Princeton or other Ivy League or note worthy schools. Well, those who can make it out alive, that is.

At least one student at South Fork dies a year, many under mysterious circumstances, some go missing and return mysteriously changed. Others never return at all. The last four years parents have been pulling students from the school that have grown suspicious. Few and far between are these "radicals" who refuse to risk their child's safety while staff go about as if nothing is wrong.

Will the "Curse" be lifted. Do you dare attend? And if you do, can you make it out alive?

Not much else is known about Headmistress Laventhorpe other than she tends to dote on and be doted on by most of her precious teachers

Other notable traits: She leads the occultism club, some students fear her and consider her a witch taking advantage of the curse. Far from being an outcast she's the Queen B of the academy because of said reputation.

Character name; Freda Gabriel

Age: 36

Sexual Orientation: Lesbian

Appearance: Slight and slim in build yet tall, dresses mostly in black or occasionally a high-collared white shirt and tie with long black skirt and black tights/stockings, usually in quite austere, formal but old-fashioned-looking clothing. Dark eyes with permanent ‘bags’ beneath them, sometimes giving her the appearance of tiredness, and long mousy-brown hair habitually scraped into a bun at the back of her head. Has a tendency of looking and dressing like the image of a stereotypical Victorian teacher/governess, despite being relatively young.

Personality; Quiet, soft-spoken, patient, calm and private in nature, Freda keeps herself to herself, to an extent that could perhaps be mistaken by some for aloofness or even coldness. Yet Freda is in fact kindly at heart and cares deeply about her students’ wellbeing, and secretly worries for their safety under South Fork’s mysterious ‘curse’. Though she is scarcely ever known to raise her voice, she somehow has a mysterious, gentle—and almost unsettling, to those who don’t know her—authoritative air of the kind that commands respect without asking. She is passionate about her subject of study and loves literature and poetry, and does her best to foster a love of reading and writing in her students. She is occasionally prone to absent-mindedness though, and her quirky old-fashioned ways make her seem slightly eccentric, and older than her years. Indeed, in many ways, she is the kind of person one might jokingly describe as having ‘been here before’.
