Name: Anastasia Psaras

Nickname: Anna

Hero Name : Volt

Age: 17

Gender: Female

Sexuality: Homosexual

Role: New Mutant

Tier: Tier A

Mutant Ability: Volt is a living battery, able to absorb and store electrical energy from nearby electrical sources. She is able to manipulate the electrical energy within her and release them in various forms from bolts to grenades. With some fine control, she can create an electromagnetic field able to have some magnetic manipulation. However, the electrical energy she absorbed is also her only form of sustenance, absorbing electricity can heal some wound but using up her stores has an adverse effect on her health both physically and mentally. She also weakens considerably in areas with low residual electrical energy, e.g in rural areas.

Other Abilities: Skilled parkour and wall runner and capable singer. Had found several cookery books during the time on her run and developed an interest in cooking.

Personality:
Anna appears to others as a gregarious and charming young woman, able to be funny, generous and caring to those around her. However, spend more and more time with her, one find something off about her. She seems to keep to herself mostly, not talking to others unless approach and rarely for too long. She rarely talks to herself, always ending or diverting conversations about her. Despite this, she is loyal and fiercely protective of those who she believes are close to her and would to go to extreme to correct wrongs done to them, even to her detriment. Otherwise, she is intelligence and analytically minded, with a good head for puzzles and mysteries.

Background:
Anastasia doesnt remember much of her early life before discovering her powers. She remembers being driven by her parents somewhere, then a big explosion with her waking up in a hospital bed alone. Things did not end there, as sparks seemed to fly from her, destroying the machinery and any nurse or doctor that approached her. Terrified of the harm she would do and what others would do towards her, she ran as fast and as far as she could.

She lived on the streets since, she made an attempt to find her parents but found there was nothing left of them, and she was too far away from any known family. It was tough going for a while, she had no experience in living alone, but she had her powers and only needing to absorbed electricity to survive helped a lot. In the process, she learned more and more about her powers, learning to control them somewhat and use it to survive by any means necessary. She eventually ran into gang when the leader took a shine to her and took her in and helped her and bringing her to what she thought was a new family. She took part in gang activity as the only mutant, she was the gang trump card in their operations, raising them to a significant presence in the city.

Furthermore, she made little effort to hide her powers, which lead extra attention on the gang. When the law came down on her, the gang betrayed, using her to divert attention, and ran off without her. She just managed to escape and found herself alone, not knowing who to trust. However, her exploits drew attention to more than just the authorities, other mutants like herself eventually found her and made her a deal she could not refuse. Either join them or face the authorities, reluctantly she joined it tool a little time. It took a little time but she slowly warmed to them.

WIP. Will finish the rest later.

Name: Declan Hamilton
Hero Name (if applicable): Flare
Age:
18
Gender: Male
Sexuality (optional): Demisexual
Role: New Mutant
Tier (if applicable): S Tier
Mutant Ability: Declan has the ability to absorb energy in the environment around him. This energy he can then release at will in the form of explosions; the more energy absorbed the bigger the explosion (different forms of energy can also determine the scale of the explosion as well). Although he has not yet reached the level of dexerity and control required, it is also possible to channel the energy into powerful beams (with intensity determined by the amount and form of energy absorbed). Due to this ability's volatile nature it has potential to turn extremely dangerous, both for the wielder and those around him. Due to the release of pure energy from the body this ability also exerts the user rather quickly - larger bursts of energy released from the body will exert the wielder even more quickly. Keeping immense amounts of energy contained within the body for long periods can also pose the risk of prematurely being released, essentially destroying the user from the inside out. This ability is best used for short and intense confrontations due to the toll it can have on the body.
Personality:
Background:
Privilege is something Declan knew from childhood. Growing up the only child of a successful businessman and his trophy wife, he practically had everything handed to him on a silver platter. Practically everything he asked for was provided. Naturally, due to his position he was also taught proper manners and etiquette. He was also sent to prestigious private schools, the types that everyone else were supposed to envy.

Despite his background of privilege, Declan was not so gifted socially. He did not make friends easily, particularly due to a lack of socialization with his peers. By the time he was in his early teens he began to act out. Whether it was due to boredom with what he deemed his monotonous life or out of desperation for attention, risky behaviour became practically second nature for the boy. It was common for him to get in trouble with the authorities and very soon he became an embarrassment for his parents. Not even caring to dive into the source of his behaviour, they simply removed the problem entirely.

In what was deemed a temporary measure Declan found himself institutionalized. He felt like a prisoner and soon withdrew entirely into his own mind. During this period he began to manifest a creative side. However, it was only short-lived upon having the accident that would change his life. He recalled being hit by an immense beam of energy before waking up in the hospital. Shortly afterwards it was discovered that he had powers, and almost immediately he was deemed a danger (albeit for a different reason). He found himself being institutionalized once more, but this time in a highly secure facility for those like himself. Not wanting to stand for captivity, he took some risks, something he was far from unfamiliar with, and broke free.

Wary and tired of running, Declan no longer wanted to hide who he truly was. He arrived in Heartland City and found company among those just like himself. For the first time he had friends. No, he had a real family who could love and nurture him.

Thomas looks, in no uncertain terms, like a walking corpse. It's not that there's anything wrong with him, he just never goes outside, and he has trouble sleeping due to nightmares. He is naturally a bit on the skinny side, toned due to years of training at the Institute for Exceptional Beings. His hair is always messy, usually because he doesn't comb it after he rolls out of bed. His civilian clothes are mostly sweaters and black denim jeans, with the occasional graphic tee or polo shirt thrown in for more formal events. His hero uniform is a form fitting, mostly blue outfit, just like everyone else's, except for the small "S" emblems on his shoulders.

backstory
Thomas was only a few minutes old when he discovered he had powers. His father had made the mistake of letting newborn Thomas touch him, which afterwards resulted in Mr. Reed's inability to drive. It was pushed off as a lapse of memory and an isolated incident, so neither party involved was hurt much. But it continued to happen. The new parents continued to play and hold and kiss the baby, often resulting in the loss of one or more of their skills before contact happened again. After a year of unfortunate incidents, Thomas was given up for adoption. And, as is the way of the world, he was put into the foster care system.

Thomas bounced around from home to home, never truly feeling as if he belonged or as if he was wanted. He wore gloves and shied away from hugs, while learning to defend himself from the people who hurt him. If a foster parent was particularly rude to him, all it took was a touch and they no longer knew how to perform a task at their job. If another kid at school wanted to bully him, one touch removed all their skills in math- if they had any to begin with. He was vengeful and naive, and it nearly got someone killed.

It had been a year since he was finally adopted out by an older couple, when disaster struck. He was at ballet rehearsal, practicing with the few friends he had made. He wasn't wearing gloves, as they weren't allowed by the dress code, so naturally he was anxious. When it came time for the performance, he accidentally brushed hands with a performer. She lost her balance and crashed into another dancer, who crashed into yet another dancer, before the line of ballerinas fell and tore down the curtain.

It was after that he was recruited by the Institute for Exceptional Beings, a school that wasn't all it seemed. It was a cover for the base of Heartland City's most wanted: the escaped 2012 mutants. Thomas has been there ever since, afraid to repeat what happened on performance night. Though a shred of confidence has returned, he always wonders when he'll screw up a big mission, or who he'll hurt next.

Ability Type
B Tier Jack of All Trades

Thomas can do anything and everything, if only to a lesser degree than the person whose powers he currently possesses. At skin contact, he can borrow powers from other mutants, with little to no harsh effects on the person with the original powers. He can borrow multiple at a time, but not for longer than five minutes or it becomes too much for him to handle. He usually sticks to one, seeing as he can control one power for a long time before he tires out. This makes him dangerous, but he's useless if he gets separated from his team. Good if a teammate with a useful power gets knocked out of the fight though, or if they need powers concentrated in a certain area. He can also transfer powers and skills to other people.

And his ability doesn't just apply to other mutants. If he makes skin-to-skin contact anyone with a particular skill in any area, he immediately gains that skill. So, for example, if he touched the world's best violinist, he could play half a dozen concertos on the spot. Or if he touched someone who was particularly strong, he'd gain their strength- but not their musculature.

Thomas does actually have a few skills that aren't stolen, including baking, writing poetry, ballet dancing, and composing music. Of course, everyone thinks he's lying when he says these abilities aren't stolen, that is, until he touches them and they don't know how to bake or write poetry. People tend not to challenge him on the few skills he does actually possess, since he practices them so often it's as if he'd taken them from a professional.

Name: Mars Mollagen / Twice
Nickname: Twice
Hero Name:
N/A
Age:
22
Gender:
Non-binary
Sexuality:
Aromantic
Appearance:
Mars stands at 6'4 and has lightly tanned skin with green eyes. Their hair is burnt red and is cut in a mullet style. They have two beauty marks where snake bite pierces would be but lower on the chin and wear muted color clothes, but most of the time its all black. They tend to be a comfortable fit, not too tight but not too lose. Something that you can move around it but not risk getting caught in.
However, this is just a disguise as to what they actually look like. Naturally, they have light army green skin and and black eyes with golden pupils. Their ears are more pointed (the best described as elf like) and sharp teeth. Their hair is curly but in a cut of an undercut and brown.
Role:
Mutant
Tier (if applicable):
B Tier - Shape shifter
  • As long as they've seen the organic material they can shapeshift into it. This includes people, however when they turn into people they don't gain that person's ability nor do they sound like that person. This takes a lot of energy often leaving them hungry afterwards
  • Due to their abilities they tend to have more animal like characteristic:
    • Darkvision - Similarly to cats, they are able to see in darkness 120 feet due to the abundance of rod cells in their eyes and the mirror layer they have. This also gives them a wider field of vision, instead of 180 degrees like most humans, they are able to see in a 200 degree radius. Despite all this, they are unable to see red-orange hues of colors, making them red-green colorblind.
    • Enhanced Smell - They have 40 times more odour-sensective cells than typical humans. It helps them smell out who might be nearby and accurately pinpoint where they are. However, they are prone to strong fragrances which can make it harder to distinguish smells or lead to a headache.
    • Enhanced Hearing - They are able to hear a sound about 2 yards further than typical humans. Secrets are hard to keep from them but it's easy to tell when they are listening to you. They have longer ears which move and point towards where the sound is coming from. A good way to interrupt this is a loud and sudden noise which can spook them.
    • Claws and Teeth - I mean, what do you think this means? They fight dirty.
Personality:
There are a few things in life that Mars/Twice cares about: money, themselves, and food. They put themself first and would sooner let someone else fall before getting themself in trouble; it's all about self-preservation. They are arrogant and believe that they are better than most people leading to them not holding their tongue. They'd say what they think rather you like it or not. They are a listener and tend to know more about a situation or about you then they'd let on.
They won't admit it, but they do have a few softspots. If they enjoy your presence or consider you a friend/ally they'd be quick to protect you and can prove to be very loyal. It just takes a lot to get there.

Background:
Mars was born after the leak of mutant existence in the bathroom of their parents studio apartment. Instantly, their parents knew that Mars wasn't a normal human; after all, they were green. The parents quickly contacted the government asking what they should do. The news said that mutants were dangerous and rewards were offered for tips on mutants. So the parents handed Mars off with fears of what their child could be. So Mars grew up as an experiment that helped the government understand what made mutants and helped them better understand how to find them.
Despite this, Mars doesn't believe that their childhood was bad. They were feed good and they were well taught and although they didn't have the best social skills they got along pretty well with the adults that raised them. And when they started to play with their powers, it was met with more curiosity than anything else. It was recognized early on how great of an asset a shapeshifter could be. So they didn't grow up with dolls and toys but instead with tactical training that taught them more life skills. Quickly, they learned how to be stealthy and how to use their abilities to their favor. Often times, people don't pay mind to a fly on the wall in important conferences. They learned how to get "rid" of problems during this time as well. Getting praise and earning the name Twice. Something to help separate themselves from work and normal life- although they don't really mind being called either Twice or Mars. Both names were theirs.
Essentially they were a trained weapon but that doesn't mean they are a loose cannon. And now they participate in raids trying to find more mutants.
Anything extra you feel we should know:
  • They are naturally a carnivore and cannot eat veggies :(
  • They are very food motivated - kinda like a dog oddly
  • Even though they like food they actually have less taste receptors then normal humans
  • Red-Green color blind
  • has fought a raccoon before

Casually, she wears a variety of things but oftentimes she's wearing loose clothing and cargo pants— always prepared to break into a run when need be. Stick man. Just...stick man.
He is very skinny, partially attributed to his power, but mostly due to a training regimen and the fact that he forgets to eat until his stomach starts to cramp. He's almost freakishly tall, considering no one in his family has broken 5 and half feet since six generations back. His hair is wispy and thinning, and he contemplates just shaving it off- every day he contemplates accepting the fact that he will be bald one day. He wears mostly button up shirts and dress pants, since he's a "well respected" teacher and he has to "look his best". His hero uniform is custom made with a material that will reform and reshape with him if needed, so it's fairly durable. There are no special symbols, the only difference is a very slight color difference and a different texture from the other suits.

backstory
Ernest’s life was fairly easy for the first few years. His parents were amazed by his miraculous inability to get hurt, even when he fell from high places or slipped on surfaces. They doted on him, showering him with gifts and affection.

That was, until his younger brother came along. Now, don’t get him wrong, Ernest loved his younger brother, but his parents shoved him to the side- like a kid with an old toy. He never resented his younger brother, but he grew to resent his parents for how he was treated. There were responsibilities suddenly shoved onto him: “Ernest, watch your brother today.” “Ernest, walk your brother to school.” “Ernest, drive your brother to his party.”

At 18, this responsibility only increased. Noah and his friends had gotten into some trouble, and it fell on Ernest to get them out of it. But instead he watched three of his brother’s friends get taken away while he and his brother fled. Noah never forgave him for that day, and Ernest has never forgiven himself either.

Ernest has lived a quiet life for the past 25 years, honing his powers at the Institute for Exceptional Beings, becoming a teacher for other mutants. He still hopes to redeem himself for the mistakes he made that day.

Ability Type
B Tier Metamorph

While Ernest is far from the most powerful Metamorph out there, he has honed his abilities very carefully. He can turn into nearly any material imaginable, barring anything radioactive or anything particularly unstable. Most metals, liquids, and other substances are fair game though. He’s mastered timing his ability with rough landings or hits from enemies. He doesn’t have a healing ability, but minor injuries can be removed through quick transformations.

There are, however, drawbacks to this power. Major injuries don’t go away with transformation and are often made worse by it. Major transformations or transformations that last for more than an hour are painful, often with lingering pain that can last for hours or even days.

Ernest is a gifted singer, an ability that he doesn’t share often. Him being in musical theatre and choir in high school has been the fuel for his tormentors in various forms. He continued to sing as a hobby throughout his life, but he tends not to anymore- he’s afraid the students will hear and make fun of him.

Nome _ Alfredo Giovanni Clã _ Giovanni Geração _ 09 Natureza _ capitalista Comportamento _ m...jpg

Name: Morgan James Haywood

Nickname: Dr. Haywood, to most.

Hero Name: [None]

Age: 42

Gender: Male

Sexuality: Homosexual

Ethnicity: English, with some Scottish, Welsh and Germanic heritage.

Appearance:
  • Eyes: Blue
  • Hair: Brown
  • Height: 5'8"
  • Glasses: Yes
  • Cigarette: Lit
  • Umbrella: Ready
  • Weight: Don't ask him.
Morgan prefers 'big-boned' to describe his heavyset body, and will not acknowledge any other descriptor. He has a rather average look about him, aside from his often overly-formal attire (you'll never see him without a tie), and wouldn't stand out among a group of college professors. With his powers, he could easily change his appearance, fix his lazy eye or give himself a more appealing physique, but he's quite comfortable the way he is.

Role: Original Mutant

Tier: S

Abilities:

If mutants are considered weapons, Morgan would be a veritable fleet of nuclear warheads. His telepathic powers are as-of-yet unmatched. Along with the ability to read minds, Morgan can also manipulate the physical plane with powerful telekinetic force, even to a molecular degree. He can detach his mind from his physical body and take an astral form, create psychic planes of existence within his own mind and even invade the minds of others.

However, Morgan prefers to use his telepathy in its physical manifestation of telekinesis. This is simply due to the many risks attached to mind-control. While it is relatively simple to read a person's thoughts or sift through their memories, one small slip-up could result in anything from causing the victim to manifest a mental disorder to the complete destruction of their mind. Recently, Morgan has been experimenting with using his telekinesis to manipulate the fabric of space, to some mild success, but again he's hesitant to experiment further due to his lack of understanding in the matter.

There is however, a rather substantial caveat to Morgan's abilities: his physical form is not equipped to contain it. Morgan's body rapidly decays with the usage of his power. As a result, he has to seek out new bodies to inhabit every so often-- he detaches his mind from his old body and inhabits a new one. With frequent use of his power, a body can last anywhere from between two to six weeks. With occasional use, he can stretch a body's lifespan to up to four/five months. Once he inhabits a new body, he uses his telekinesis to change the molecular structure of it, making it resemble his original body. However, every time he inhabits a new body, it can take days before his full powers are restored. This is a secret that only the original mutants know, and perhaps a few others.

Personality:

If he isn't to be found in his office, he'll be on the library balcony, smoking a cigarette.

Morgan's demeanour is often that of a man with a dozen tasks on his plate. This is due to him having to constantly make a conscious effort to block out everyone's thoughts. Morgan has trouble in casual environments, as he is a very serious-- perhaps overly-serious-- person. Sometimes, he'll only understand a joke days after he heard it.

Morgan struggles with the responsibility of his powers, as well as his protective nature over the students of Heartland. He also considers himself a danger to the children, and not a particularly good role model in terms of morals. To combat the former, he often injects Prolixin, an antipsychotic drug which dampens his abilities somewhat and makes it much easier to control (it also slows his body's degradation). For the latter concern, he finds it easier sometimes to distance himself from the school, taking frequent holidays and sabbaticals, but always returns out of guilt.

Keywords: Complicated, Honest, Compassionate, Melancholy, Self-sacrificing.

Background:

Morgan's early life is drenched in tragedy. His mother-- also a mutant-- had the ability to cancel out any other mutant's power within her vicinity. Her pregnancy had very few complications, but during the delivery she lost control for a single moment... new-born Morgan's untrained mind lashed out with its psychic powers. He struck his father and midwife dead in the few seconds before his mother gained control again.

Despite this, his mother never blamed him. But she had learned her lesson. She raised him as best as she could, but never left his side. As long as she was close enough, she could keep his volatile power under control.

He lived a somewhat privileged life, home-schooled in a small Cypriot villa, until the age of sixteen. For the last few years, as his powers had continued to develop, he figured out his mother was restricting him, and decided with his teenage logic that the next course of action was to run away. Somehow, no matter how far he got from his mother, she had always been able to find him, so Morgan's only choice was to leave the country. It was surprisingly easy to bluff his way past airport security (he hadn't realised but his dormant powers were at work), and get on the very next flight... Which happened to be to America.

Either through coincidence or fate, Morgan found himself in Heartland City. He thought he'd be living on the streets, but he soon found out he could walk into any hotel, request any room and it would be given to him. Everyone seemed to obey his every command. It was one night, while he sat in bed, thinking if he'd made the right decision, that he felt five other presences, very familiar to his own mind, almost friendly, passing a nearby street. Morgan knew that he'd lose them if he left the building through conventional means, so he... Jumped out the window. Somehow he knew, his mind would protect him, and it did: he harmlessly floated to the ground.

"What do you think you're doing?!" One of the teenagers asked, "Someone could see you!"

Morgan shrugged. "Even if they did, I'd make them forget."

And that was the start of a strong but short friendship. Noah and Ernest, brothers, and three others. They were all like him, except different. But one unfortunate night, not long after Morgan's seventeenth birthday, they were discovered. Three of his friends were taken away, while Earnest and Noah managed to escape. Morgan would have been taken too, if not for the timely arrival of his mother. She whisked him away into her car and drove away as fast as she could.

Not fast enough, however. Roadblocks had already been set up, and four soldiers, agents, or whatever they were, stopped them. They didn't hesitate one moment, dragging Morgan and his mother out of the car. Then one of them shot his mother straight through the skull. As the bullet pierced her brain, Morgan screamed. And as her power died, his fully awoke. Within an instant, he burned the soldiers' brains to ash, but in their dying moments Morgan absorbed every thought they had ever had, and it was too much for him to process. He lay there in the middle of the road, in a fit of madness, curled up and screaming for hours, before his abilities stabilised and segregated the soldiers' minds from his.

Morgan carries that trauma with him to this day, but over the last twenty-five years, he's learned to hone his power. It came as quite a shock to him the first time his physical body crumbled, but it gave him time to explore in his astral form, which granted him a much better understanding of his abilities. Now, when Morgan occupies a new body and changes it to his own, he makes sure to only choose the bodies of those terminally ill and dying with no hope of a cure. Even then, he asks either their permission, or that of their next of kin, through a contract that also offers a sizeable sum of monetary compensation. It helps ease the guilt, at least.

Extras:
  • Morgan has quite the crush on another member of staff at Heartland Institution. Though he doesn't want to take that secret to the grave, he probably will.
  • Morgan chain smokes cigarettes, as the nicotine helps him focus. He uses his telekinesis to rid his body of the smell, and his lungs of the tar.

Kiara.jpg

Name
: Kiara Blake

Nickname: Feel free to create one for her

Hero Name: Umbra

Age: 17

Gender: Female

Sexuality: Demisexual

Role: Mutant

Tier: B

Mutant Ability: Kiara has the ability to use the shadows to teleport to anywhere in the world, the only catch being that she has to have a clear image of the location in her mind. This means that if she hasn’t seen the place then she can’t go there and the further a location is from her, the more energy it takes to go there. Kiara has also learned in recent years that she can travel with up to two people reliable but the moment she starts going past that number it can become incredibly difficult. This means that if she was to try and move a larger group of people with her, it can only be for very short distances and will commonly end up with her pacing out from the amount of energy she would have to use.

Personality: Having grown up in foster care, Kiara has instinctively became protective to those close to her. She is willing to stand up for and defend those that are in trouble or are getting harassed. This has led to multiple fights in which she has stood up for mutants that were getting yelled at in the streets and ended up getting hit herself. However, as outspoken as she may seem, years of isolation on the streets has led her to be very awkward at times and very oblivious towards somethings.

Keywords: Protective, Caring, Awkward, Independent, Sarcastic

Background: For as long as she can remember, Kiara has been bouncing around in the foster care system. Never has she been in one place for to long, her record only being 6 months. She lived her whole life in a suitcase never staying in one place. Kiara never knew who her parents were and the only clue that she was given was that she was dropped off at the age of 4 by a young woman who was in her early 20s. Being in the system was tough to say the least. Some homes were fantastic while others would leave her with bruises. After a few years she finally ended up in an orphanage. Kiara grew to be like an older sister to the younger children who lived. She would get them ready for school or help them when they got injured. This led her to stealing from different stores in order to try and give the children what they needed because she knew the orphanage wouldn't. However, one day at the age of 14, she was caught stealing some food from the local market. As she ran through the streets away from the police, she was quickly cornered in an alley. Hiding behind a dumpster, she did everything she could to just disappear and then she did. One moment she was crouched on the cold pavement and the next she was flying through a sea of black. Then, in a matter of moments, she was back at the orphanage with terrified children around her. Hating the looks of terror on their faces, she ran.

Since that day she had been living out of an abandoned building that had all the exits blocked. No one could get in except through the use of her powers. It was during this time that she found relief through the use of spray paint. The act in which creating something that was displayed for everyone to see while still maintaining anonymity was amazing. She could teleport in at night and then by the next morning there would be a beautiful picture in her place. It was during one of these late night creativity sessions that she was caught by one of the teachers of Institute for Exceptional Beings. They informed her about the Institute and, deciding that it was better than living on the streets, she accept the invitation.

Anything extra you feel we should know:
  • Since she has to know a location that she wants to go to, she has gotten into a habit of carrying around a camera with her to take pictures of locations that interest her.
  • Kiara loves graffiti and spray paint. To her it is a great form of self-expression that allows her to easily show others what she can do all while maintaining anonymity. She has also learned that it allows her to easily teleport to different locations because all she has to do is remember the artwork she created there.
  • A big weakness to Kiara’s powers is that she has to specifically use shadows to travel and not darkness itself. This means that if she is ever locked in a room with no light source she would be trapped. For this reason she will always carry a small pen light in her boot in case of emergency situations like this.
  • In moments of extreme panic where Kiara can't focus on a location to go to, she will default to her old hideout as if it is a reflex.

Name: Mari Ashton
Nickname (optional):
Hero Name (if applicable): ExoKnight
Age: 19
Gender: Female
Sexuality (optional): Bisexual
Role: Mutant
Tier (if applicable): B
Mutant Ability:
Mari will often appear as a normal girl, however, in a moment as her powers involve the manipulation of her own skeleton. She can form a black and white exoskeleton over her body, reminiscent of armor. Along side this, her bones are reinforced, allowing her to hit harder than the average human, she is also noticeably heavier than anyone her size should be. When using this power, her skin will need to open up in order to allow her bones to grow, so there are a few noticeable scars where Mari often choses to grow out her bones.

In Short:
-Super Strength
-Minor self regeneration
-Bone Manipulation

Personality: Mari is often indifferent toward the people around her, preferring to go on her own path and not get into too much trouble. She had a pretty rough exterior overall, and whatevers inside her is covered in quite a few barbs. She tends to be cynical and uncaring towards others, and very easily she can become contrarian toward those who just plain annoy her. Mari doesn't enjoy getting close with others, as she fears that she might be hurt by them, and even worse, that she might hurt them in return. That being said she finds it hard not to care about people, as much as she tries to be colder and a lot more aloof than she really is Mari has it in her to be good person. Not quite kind all the time, but definitely good.

Background: Mari grew up in a distant home with distant parents. Before she turned 4 they had a divorce, of course her mother got to keep her while she would get visits or visit her father with slowly decreasing frequency. As she grew up she became more and more of a loner because of this, her mother had no interest in controlling her and she had no interest in staying around the house. Around high school is when things started looking a little bleak for Mari's future. She had gotten into fights more and more, and more and more did the people hitting her stop hurting all that much, and whats better was that she was able to hit harder.

Then one day an already painful cut across her arm turned into an even more painful gateway to the discovery of her powers. Which she, and some new friends of hers decided to use for their own gain. Mari was close to living on her own, her mother didn't stand for her getting into fights and Mari didn't want to be around the house in the first place. So, what better way to make money than to make a show of your own freakishness. She and her friends decided to start making videos of Mari beating on anyone who was unlucky enough to cross them, and eventually even taking requests from their more sadistic viewers. Mari didn't think much of this, they were beating on assholes who had it coming, so it was fine by her.

However, eventually they started to really get attention, from both law enforcement and some higher powers at work. Her so called friends were quick to rat her out to save their own hides, so Mari knew what she had to do. She had to get the hell out of there, on top of being a mutant, she had already broken a few laws as anyone could plainly see in those videos. So she was on the road, for a solid 2 years of her life without anyone to rely on, that was until she was finally tracked down by the institute who had up to that point had a bit of trouble tracking the girl down. Considering her grim future, she figured she may as well live with at least some sort of reason than none at all. Without much fanfare she joined up with the institution, now a much more distant person than before.

It means it could potentially shorten someone's life, to combat this is often takes from plants and insects...however this doesn't mean she won't take from another human.

Florence had a comfortable upbringing. That was something most mutants didn't have. She had a loving mother and father her saw her off to college when she graduated high school. Her life was put on paused and she went home to care for him. Florence knew of her powers but didn't fully understood the cost of it. She had healed friends and pets but they were always minor injuries. When she cured her Father's illness, people around them dropped like flies.
