RE: Luka Hinderson #350

Location: Canteen
Notes: 'I might be just beginning. I might be near the end.'

ynXgFmG.jpg

"Luka! You scared the pants off me!"

"But you're not wearing pants. You're in a jumpsuit." Luka responded dryly, allowing the smaller of them to drag him the rest of the way towards the canteen. "But is it really so important? I mean, it won't be important a year from now." Luka seemed to more be talking to himself than his partner, stumbling a bit as the two came to a stop. Then her rambling started. Something about monsters? Oh, a failed test which causes monsters? Or maybe a monster which causes failed SEED tests? "I think you're thinking too hard into things that are far harder to explain." Most of the time her rants went in one ear and out the other with him, but now he seemed to be paying attention. Atleast a little bit. "I think you'll never really know what happens to failed SEEDs unless we fail. But you don't want to fail, so you can't know. Maybe you should ask instead?" It took Luka a few moments to figure out that Anya wanted to find a seat for them, the two just standing there awkwardly until he went to try and find a seat. While Anya had picked up food, Luka hadn't.

Maybe he wasn't hungry?

Most likely he just forgot to eat, or forgot what being hungry felt like. It had happened before. Luka took a seat a few feet away from no one in particular. He absolutely hated listening to people chew their food. Salvador and Alicia soon made their way inside the canteen, Luka's attention going between the two as they greeted everyone and got things prepared. "As each of you are aware. Today is the Blossoming. A day to prove yourselves to EDEN and showcase what you can do to your teammates. Today each of you will go through a set of three tests, each of which will get progressively more complicated as we go along. Each of your tests will consist of you and your partner working together to handle tasks, After each test concludes Salvador and Myself shall give you the results of the test. That being both your own personal results, along with your partnership's results overall"

Perhaps Luka should eat? Alicia and then Sal mentioned that they only had 10 minutes left to eat before their first test began. But he wasn't hungry...but Anya might get upset and scold him. What should he do? He didn't even notice some of the others were late arriving to the canteen. Without a word Luka rose up from his seat and moved to go get some food. His slow gait moving in the path of Minty's running about. She nearly ran into him but his abruptly quick movements allowed him to move out of the way of her sprinting. He'd feel bad if she made her fall down. "Be careful little aeroplane.." He warned her, his voice probably too soft for her to hear in the first place.

--

Luka sat back down across from Anya, a small tray in hand with the food he had picked out. Water and sliced bread. It wasn't that there was nothing left to eat in the canteen..he just seemed to enjoy eating like some sort of prisoner.

Reina's frown only deepened as Nico continued to grin at her, clearly not taking her seriously. It was annoying since she often had to chastise him and he never seemed to take her words to heart. Reina tensed slightly when his hand came to her shoulder. As of late she'd gotten more used to the friendly touches that Nico didn't seem to realize he was doing; at first it frightened her a bit but now she realized it was just his way of doing things. "Hm, well maybe you should be nervous! At least a bit..." She called after him as he walked off to get himself some food. After a moment though Reina began to agree with him. They were both skilled in their positions and had done well in preliminary testing. Why was she worried? Connecting would be easy just like everything else had been for her. Feeling more like her usual self Reina finally uncrossed her arms and relaxed in her seat. Since they still had a little time it wouldn't hurt if they tried a quick connection. At least then they'd know how to do it beforehand and pass the first exam with flying colors.

Reina waited patiently for Nico to return and finish his breakfast. She smiled pleasantly as he ate quickly; perhaps he had the same idea as her? "Well now that you're done, let's connect!" She turned her chair to face him, brows already furrowing as she focused. "We only have a little time so let's get this over with hm?" She didn't wait for his response and slowly closed her eyes. In her mind she visualized herself - she always saw her mind as a flash of purple. Bright, zappy and energetic, her visualization of her mind surged back and forth like a tidal wave. To her the meeting of minds would be like the joining of colors. She hadn't actually seen Nico's yet but she imagined it'd be a soft, calming blue color.

Just as she felt herself beginning to relax enough to potentially start a connection she felt a sharp bump against her chair as someone whizzed past. Reina let out a loud sound of irritation, frustrated that her focus was so quickly broken after she started. She stared at Nico at first, potentially convinced it was him but one quick glance around the canteen revealed the true culprit. Minty was running around with her arms outstretched imitating an airplane. Reina jumped up from her seat, left arm outstretched as she pointed accusingly at Minty's running form. She shouted something along the lines of "Sit down you braindead monkey!" at the girl in Japanese, eyes ablaze with anger. Nico would probably wrestle her back into her seat in a moment but for now she glared daggers at the shorter female.

Achilles and Alicia
The purple haired woman glanced over to the digital clock on the wall, the time read 08:10. With that being the case the children would have one minute remaining of free time, her vision had been torn from the clock as she noticed the small commotion going on between Minty and Reina. Basing her opinion on both of the subjects she supposed that they did seem to hold a negative relationship with one another overall.

Achilles observed the rest of the SEEDs who seemed to be a bit nervous overall, that wasn't too odd at least since these tests practically established your strength among the team. He'd heard rumors that some of them would be cutting corners from the EDEN staff. Worrying was unnecessary, he knew that something was going on between himself and his partner, connection would be as easy as that. Sitting up now as he felt Minty brush past him he smiled gently at first, "I see you're revitalized." He said a little thankful that the energetic girl had come back to her normal personality.

Turning slightly his eyes caught a glimpse of Monica and he knew that they could get through the test without an issue... he figured she'd probably be as confident in him given what connection they already had naturally. But that was something he couldn't be too sure of. But he supposed that letting her be ready for it would be the best idea, so he stood up to go over and talk to her for a moment before immediately being stopped.

Alicia looked to them all, "Everyone. The first test will now commence. Minty and Dio, You will be reporting to testing chamber one. Monica and Achilles, You will be reporting to testing chamber two" She spoke clear and loud enough to have it drown out the rest of the SEEDs. This was by far the easiest test, it was excessively hard to fail it.. and if you somehow did fail it then you were probably with the wrong partner. Turning to Salvador she motioned to the students, "Do you want to keep watch over the ones here or do you want to handle the testing?" She prompted, deciding that offering more of a choice with how things went was smarter.

Achilles watched the handlers for a moment until they went silent before walking over to Monica and tapping her on the shoulder, "So... this will probably be the easiest test. We just have to come into one another, shouldn't be too hard right?" He said with confidence.

Im Timmy

  • Timmy 2 (snip).PNG

I feel a bit sick today
    I'm a bit distressed; I'm Conflicted.
    my flask
    75.PNG
I mention: (no one in particular)
I interacted with: (no one in particular)

This is a dream sequence. None of what happens in here actually happens in the Rp, as the situations are supposed to be somewhat bizarre. Timmy gazed upon the sugar-based world that surrounded him with blissful glee. The sugar-white streets shaded by trees of white-infused water, still and peaceful as though time had stood still. He stepped carefully along the path of sugar, as it sunk into the ground like snow beneath his shoes. This world of his was a fragile wonderland, one that began to decay with his presence. He continued down the path, hunched over with his hands rested warm inside his pockets- at least, what he assumed were pockets.

He wasn't wearing a jacket, In-fact, his body was largely shaped by simple scribbled lines that shook and rippled, resembling an animated figure without color or detail. Of course, in Timmy's land, this appearance was normal for him, a form that he had known since his beginning within this world. As he continued, the simple paths gave way to detailed side-walks comprised of the same scribbles, formed over hardened sugar and topped with a shiny glow. Buildings: small boxes without detail, with lines resembling doors and windows that outlined the few details on its face. As the path stretched on-wards, Timmy's gaze returned to the surroundings, landing onto a couple of "people" as they walked down the parallel pathway.

Humanoid in appearance and heavily reminiscent of people, these sugar animations held a lot more detail in their appearance. Unlike Timmy, their outline neatly formed detailed features of their being, calm and serene. The two of them held empty appearances, as they held no facial features. As his eyes focused on them, he took notice in another sugar person, walking between the couple. The child had long white hair, cute blue eyes, and held a piece of sugar- cake in it's- her little hands.

Timmy lowered his head once again, glancing to his own unfinished features. As he took one last glance at the family, he noticed that they had stopped in their tracks, their heads locked onto Timmy's appearance, frozen in time. The child, however, slowly peaked out from behind one of her parents, still showing animation in her shaky movement. her eyes were widened in fearful curiosity, awestruck to see someone of that nature. He noticed a figure that stood just out of the corner of his eye, standing just behind him.

He turned around to meet this figure, however, he soon found himself suddenly surrounded. As he turned, they began to surround him until he was completely trapped into a small box of animated sugar people, with no further detail of the outside world in his sight. The world fell away from him, until nothing stood besides this circle of people. Timmy frantically turned about him, looking to the featureless faces. There was something about them that made them feel familiar...

As his glance jumped from each being, one of them caught his eye: A being with features. The being was a tall figure, with familiar "off" eyes, long blond hair, and other familiar features. He stood tall, with one "arm" outstretched from his side, attaching to the arm of another more feminine figure. They did not concern themselves with the creature in front of them, choosing to take up a cozy and friendly conversation with each other. They were attached. He swung his eyes across the other companions, witnessing the same: Achilies, Monica, Joelle, Alicia, They all had their partners attached , creating a ring around him.

He noticed a missing piece in their ranks; A figure stood with relatively short, black hair that covered the top of his face, and held glasses that sat at the edge of his nose. It was a figure that was most familiar to his own. As the others conversed with their friends, he stood , silent and alone. Timmy looked to himself to find an attachment point similar to them all, yet it was a broken mess of undecipherable lines, mangled into something horrific and monstrous. He could not tell what drove him, but Timmy had an idea. But, as he stepped forward, the figure began to shiver and twitch, shaking his head, and recoiling in disgust and fear. He was not welcomed into this ring. The figure beckoned to the others, calling for anyone else to take his place...

Awakening Timmy's mind, as though by the whim of a switch, was suddenly pulled from his recluse as abruptly as he was thrust into it, regaining the control over the weary body that he had left behind. He had been sitting there, his eyes drooping and his mouth open and drooling for god knows how long. He shook himself awake, and proceeded to press his face into his palm. Recollection became a taxing task on an already exhausted soul. As he sagged further into his slumber, he felt a startling bump against his arm.

Monica Cromwell #384

Monica smiled at Rudolph. "He can be a handful at times, ouch, please be careful, Minty." Monica warned.

Deep down, their connection was deeper than that. At first, there were problems. She'd always had trouble because a connection implied someone's mind had to meld with hers. At first, she'd been worried connecting with Achilles. Like others, she tried to hide it. It was pitiful that...she'd tried so hard to hide herself that she didn't notice how close Achilles was in personality to her.

It took them a while, but Monica slowly began to release herself, not hiding any facade when she did the connection. His thoughts were her thoughts and vice versa.

When Achilles sat by her, confidently explaining the first test, Monica nodded. "Considering how many times before, I'd say it's a welcome release."

She smiled. A genuine smile of course. It was good to have someone who read at the same wavelengths after all.

Nicholai Juren Levitsky

Nico was taking the last bite of his toast as Reina spoke up, looking to her as he swallowed the bite. Expressions changing quickly as her smile from Nico doing her bidding to focus at the task at hand, Nico followed suit. "I like the enthusiasm, but don't rush it." Nico chuckled as he turned his chair to her. Closing his eyes was simple, but Nico closed out the world around him person by person. Going through each of the voices, staring eyes, and beating hearts. Nico pictured himself in his mind, just as the instructors said to. Some imagined colors, sounds, shapes, most were different between the various SEEDs.

Nico's mind traveled to his place of relaxation, nature surrounding him. The pilots and navigators around him fading to the landscape; forming the tall trees and rolling hills topped with lush grasses. Behind him Nico could see the handler's form shifting to his family, the one he could only recall from his photos. It was then the entire image formed for him, the Poland farmland with his past family in the background. The readings of Poland's wilderness reaching fruition in his mind as elk, bears, various berry bushes, and his old farmstead covered the land that was just barely blessed with the sun's raising rays. A road formed, Nico hoping to see the form of his pilot walking down it.

As he hoped, Nico's mind began to open for Reina. From across the fields he could see the gentle cherry blossom trees as they cascaded their foliage down gently, each petal dancing against the light of a full moon. Instead of a rural farmland, Reina's homeland had the beautiful Japanese architecture of a bath house. The steam rose only to further show off the moonlight beaming downwards in the gentle rice fields. Nico watched, waiting for her form to appear to him, but was surprised to see the metallic shimmer of a machine against the moonlit sky. It hummed with excitement, a plane with an adorable pilot. "Wheeee~ Can't catch me."

The form of Minty entering his mind as she flew around the room made him chuckle, her proximity breaking Nico's concentration. Opening his eyes in time to see Reina's exclamation Nico did as he was used to doing. Nico's left hand looked out to Minty gesturing as he spoke, "Be a little careful Minty," The soft voice turned back to Reina, moving his left hand to her shoulder. His right gripped her left hand, pulling her gently back to the seat. "Hey, focus on me. I think we were close this time. Nico's voice was gentle as he tried to wrestle the pilot's eyes away from the small distraction, "One more try?" Nico smiled gently, kind eyes staring back at her for a response.

[div class=Text]
Corey finished up his breakfast and wondered where the heck Timmy was. First test and my partner is no where to be found huh? Could be worse. I could be trying to clutch a finals match. Corey fiddled with his fork and poked his helmet a few times in boredom as he waited for his partner. He didn't really care if he made it or not. If he did, he'd get to pilot giant mecha just like in those anime. If he didn't he could go back to college and continue his job. Either way, he was totally fine with both paths. He did hear Anya say something about failed candidates being turned to kaiju, but that was just insane. As Alicia and "Mikey" talked about the first test, Corey became concerned. There was a reason he was sidelined and placed as a second rate candidate. It was particularity hard for the researchers to find someone compatible with Corey, and they've claimed that they have finally done it. What a load of baloney. That's what they said about the last one before he got replaced. What make them think that Timmy can do it... I hope Timmy can do it. Nah, shouldn't worry about it, what happens, happens.

As Alicia finished explaining the situation, he heard "Mikey" say, "I'll watch over the kids' tests. I'm not looking after these crazy kids before they get a chance to calm down"

As if on cue, he saw Minty running around with her arms out like an airplane. She seemed to have cheered up from earlier. Corey smiled at this, not that anyone would notice. When his attention returned to the seats by him, he saw that Sierra and Joelle had come in, with Joelle trying to sleep while pretending to eat. She clearly wasn't paying attention to Sierra's worrying so he decided to fix that. For a moment, the teen considered getting her attention with his console, but quickly pushed away. It would draw too much attention. Attention he didn't want. Instead, he reached over and flicked her forehead. "Wake up, Jo (Joelle). I got up, so you should be able to too. Do well on the test, alright? We still have that game of Mega Mash Mothers to finish, and I don't want you dropping out before I get a chance at kicking your butt... Oh, and morning, Sierra, still stressing?"

Joelle was pretty much the most relatable person here. She shared a love of videogames and a similar careless attitude. Corey wondered why he got paired with Timmy, nothing against him of course, but then again, if he and Joelle were partners, they would end up spending all their time playing videogames and napping. Not exactly the most productive pairing. His train of thought was broken by a Reina shouting in Japanese. "Sit down you braindead monkey!" This brought his attention back to Minty and her behavior. Sighing, Corey recalled how Reina was the one that caused Minty to be depressed and replied to her in Japanese, with a bite that he did not intend, "Haven't you said enough to her?"

He didn't bother waiting for a response as he waved Timmy over to where he was sitting. The kid was with the flask he always carried around. The sugar water in there was to Timmy as caffeine was to Corey: not recommended, but still indiscriminately consumed anyways. He'd had several people express their pity for him on multiple occasions since he got paired with Timmy. He didn't exactly know why they did. What did they have against him? His twitching when he drinks his "water"? Nah, that happens when I take too many caffeine mints. His interest in the kaiju? Couldn't be, it isn't to the level I'm attached to videogames. His somewhat strange behavior? All of us are strange in some way, but I guess some of them don't think of themselves as "strange" as Timmy. Those people on their pedestals...like Reina...can't stand people like that.[/div][div class=Mentions]Interacting With/Mentions: Juju Juju seasonedcat seasonedcat Entity.Eclypse Entity.Eclypse (Alicia) Panzer Panzer Yennie Yennie

Dio ID #373
If there was one thing that could be said about his Navigator, it was that she never failed to disappoint him. Though, one probably wouldn't have been able to tell that at all from his face. Even if the tiny girl showed promise on the battlefield, she'd never be someone he'd entrust his short life to if she remained as she was. He'd perhaps feel embarrassed at this moment if he had felt any sort of attachment or obligation to the partnership. But, it was merely a case of bad luck and blind eyes, as he rationalized it. And something like that was nothing to anguish over. It was but another cross for the pale pilot to bear.

Without a word nor a glance to anyone else, the young man stood up as soon as the female handler finished speaking. Dio walked across the canteen and out the doors without incident or a collision with his Navigator and recalled the destination: chamber one. As he made his way towards the room, he couldn't help but wonder what sorts of consequences would happen if they simply failed the first test. Naturally, he had every intention to clear the parameters and be done with this as soon as possible to get onto the battlefield, but the chance of failure seemed possible now. Initial testing had yielded barely acceptable results - if only because he had forced the connection and bore the brunt of the pain during those trial runs solely to advance. It'd be a waste to cut a Pilot loose if they couldn't connect - perhaps they'd use him as a test subject instead. That was the worst case scenario, but Project EDEN was rather unethical by nature. Or, perhaps they'd reassign him somewhere else with a different partner - that would perhaps be the ideal result of failure.

Although it was difficult for the Pilot to read his Navigator, he was at the very least certain that she was aware of just how incompatible and flawed their pairing was. He had neither the patience nor the empathy to deal with her. Which is why he ignored her as best as he could - he was certain that someone else would deal with her. And to date, he's been right about it every time. Any support that he could provide her could come from anyone else - either way, if it allowed her to function at the loosest definition of acceptable, it didn't matter to him.

"Ĝi iritas min." As the doors to the first testing chamber slid open, he clutched his head. Once again falling back on his fatalism, the Pilot stepped forth into the darkness, silently accepting the fate foisted upon him.

Minty's cute laughter filled the air as she continued to run across the room, zigzagging between all the people residing in the canteen. Overall she was just a bit too excited for the test, she was going first with Dio after all. She had heard many reactions from everyone either to be careful or just being negative just like Reina. When Reina addressed her, the girl simply stopped running then sticked out her tongue and teased the platinum blonde.

"Haha, looks like Ms. Boob Mckenzie finally isn't so perfect now, is she?" Minty retorted back in perfect japanese as well. The little girl knew that it was spite talking as she did hurt her feelings prior to being in the canteen, she wasn't usually like this. She just knew how to get under Reina's skin, to insult her pride of not being "perfect". Out of the corner of her eye, she watched Dio leave the canteen which meant it was time to start the test.

"Bweh Bweh (Bai Bai), I shall return with the spoils of war!" Minty said this in english as she waved everyone goodbye before following her pilot out the door. Her little feet were the only sounds going down the hallway as she began to calm down herself from within. Alright, just gotta connect with Dio to pass the test! Just gotta stay cool, calm, and collected....you got this little mountain! She thought to herself approaching the big doors leading to the test.

The girl paused for a minute before gathering up enough courage and walking through the metal doors.

Anastasia Senaviev
#312

Anastasia rolled her eyes at Luka's response, her head shaking disapprovingly. "It's not as simple as that you dork. If I just ask they'll obviously lie to me! They won't just come out and say what happens straight to our face. This is a super secret organization, I highly doubt even our handlers know what happens. That's why we need to investigate ourselves." She explained as they sat down across from one another. "But if you're not going to join me, I guess I'll hold off for awhile. Especially since we have more important things to worry about first..." She said in a bit of a disappointed voice, before quickly getting to work on her food. Her plate was filled with a variety of foods ranging from scrambled eggs with buttered toast topped off with a sweet red apple and glass of milk. She wasn't very hungry but she felt it important to have a full stomach before a series of important tests. The last thing she needed was for a booming growl to interrupt their synchronization. She glanced over at her partner's plate and was disgusted by his intake. The boy could probably get a better meal the gulag. "Luka, what kind of a breakfast are you eating? Bread and a glass of water? It's like you're a communist!" Anya said with a hearty laugh and continued to eat her food, minding the volume at which she ate.

They only had a short time before the first test would begin, and she felt like things would go well. Now that Luka and her were talking and joking like usual all the worries she felt earlier in the morning vanished instantly. The two were undoubtedly different, yet she felt as if they got along very well. "I'm very confident we're gonna do well on our test. If we give it our best we'll make it to the end!" Her attention was directed to little Minty as she raced around the canteen. "Who gave her cake so early in the morning?" She teased, watching with a smile as the young girl darted in between the SEEDS. Unfortunately she happened to bump into the Grinch who was quick to fire back at Minty. Despite only being able to speak very broken Japanese Anastasia was still able to understand what the two were saying to each other. It was sad to see teammates at odds with one another, especially in such a mean way. She only hoped that they weren't like this on the battlefield. It could lead to some serious discord between the entire group and end up with someone getting hurt...or worse. "Those two never know when to bite their tongues. Could you imagine if they were partners? Ha! That'd be quite the show."

Achilles Charbonneau
Achilles gave a moment to realize what all was occurring around him. The reassurance he gained from Monica was more than enough to show that she was equally confident as he was on the future of this. Moving his hands to his knees, he used himself as a support to stand from his previously held position comfortably. With a small nod he smile at her, "I figured we'd be done with it right quick. Even if we were rubbish at this, I know you're one to Square the Circle love." He said with a slight smirk scorching it's way upon his face.

Understanding the small dispute between the two girls he stifled a chuckle and shook his head, "My my. Don' be her drongo Reina, just some banter between yous both right?" He stated simply before turning back to Monica and dropping his slang that way he could seem a little less like a jester. "I'll wait in the chamber for ya, don't make me anticipate it to much" He teased giving a wink to his partner and a nod to the other members of the table. He knew ahead of time that anything he dished out could be sent right back to him by Monica, maybe that was another reason he could connect with her so easily.

Without waiting for another response from the rest of the group he left the canteen, the doors moving without hesitation for him. Walking down the hallway he was so familiar with he made note of the plain white walls that escalated up until you got to the set of metal doors, slightly past them was another door. The one that he assumed was a monitors box for personnel since he hadn't ever been capable of entering the locked door. Moving down about fifty more feet he noticed the numbers '02' written on the wall next to the following metal doors. Giving no extra time he pushed into the metal door and it opened with a gentle scraping noise, the room itself was bland and empty except for the one-sided window off to one side of the room and the mechanism in the center of the room. A machine that held two seats, some sort of container in the center with cables and wires.

Along with this there were two circlet-like bands, this was what allowed for the people out at EDEN to measure their connection. He sighed and looked to the two locations, it wouldn't matter which he sat in so he decided to wait and let Monica take hers first. "This should be a piece of piss" He said cheerfully as he gazed up into the window, he didn't know for sure but he was certain he could feel his eyes meet the ones behind the window for just a brief moment.

"Five minutes"
Behind the one-way window stood a man and a couple of his colleagues worked on the numerous panels that rested around the small monitoring room. He examined the folders and read the names to himself, "373 and 390" His words held a lack of all emotion as the rest of the staff quickly did a test-run of the machines, after which it was shut off to wait for the two SEEDs to enter the room.

A few of the associates made haste to exit the room, which left three of them in the room to monitor what was to occur. Soon after the notion was made, and roughly three minutes had passed both of their subjects had pushed their way into the room. Pressing a button on a microphone the speakers in the room rang out to the monotone voice of the man at the desk. "Welcome, both of you have attended this procedure before. So please just take a seat and place the circlets upon your heads, we'll monitor your results from here" he spoke slowly and clearly before removing his fingers and the speakers cut off. The rest of the workers made haste to set up the machine which gently hummed to life now.

There was always a funny feeling that came with such a sudden open interaction, Timmy knows it all too well. It was a feeling of conflicting feelings that bit at his mind and heart, a cold chill and a warm buzz that ran through his nerves. He knew that the situation could not be harmful. There was nothing to be afraid of. Yet, he stood still, eyeing the crowd like a child to the dark abyss of a silent room in the dead of night. Unlike that child, Timmy wasn't facing certain death at the hands of a monster... Actually, he is, but not right now. He wasn't peering into the eyes of imaginary monsters, but the faces of his colleagues; Faces which -although different and unique- shared a sense of familiarity with them, the closest thing that Timmy ever had to a Sibling. as he slowly stepped around the room, he found himself lost within its contents, as his gaze danced frantically about the same rows of familiar faces over and over once more, trying to spot his partner within their group. He studied each face, trying to match the image within his objective, and praying that he could spot him out of the crowd.

His eyes caught the wave of a hand, drawing his attention to a familiar face. Timmy was quick to oblige the beckoning of his partner, swaying his path towards the man. As he approached, the buzz within his nerves quickly escalated to a fluttering feeling; As though he was light enough to fly. Yet, he felt the pull of the ground plant him in his place. It was a feeling of nervous tension that grew slowly as he closed in on an unaware Navigator. He was no longer the child that stood in the doorway of a dark room, but rather one that gazed up to the peak of a roller-coaster. One that still felt the dread of seeing those high pointed peaks. Yet, along with this story, this feeling of nervousness always fell into excitement and thrill.

Timmy stepped silently, careful as to not grip the attention of his target. As if almost primal, he moved swiftly without rhyme or reason as to explain his own actions. His next move was planned with a heart of affection that flooded his mind into submission, grabbing control like a puppet master and their new puppet. Timmy gazed without emotion, freezing his face into a serious and almost melancholy expression, as to hide his next move even further.

Adrift upon the rush of sugar-induced euphoria, the boy held a face that one could call an off stature: with overflowing and joyous eyes that gazed with empty and hollow, protected under the subtle lift of a gentle smile. It was Timmy's signature face, as this was his usual expression. He drew close to Corey, and without hesitation, hunched over and embraced the Navigator under his arms, resting his head on the other boy's shoulder and pushing his face aside into the face of his partner, resting daintily against his cheek.

"Don't wait for me too long, you might break your record of patience." Monica teased. "Well I better get to him, sorry guys I gotta go!"

As soon as Monica left the canteen, her smile dissolved and she quietly headed for the entrance. She was excited. the idea of it all. The combat and the monsters. All of it excited her as she stepped into the room marked "02".

Achilles was already inside, to which she gave him a gentle smile. "Wow, I didn't think we'd ever get rid of them." Her eyes turned to the wall, where it was evident they were listening. They, who probably knew Monica and yet...despite all her behavior...allowed her to continue.

At the end of the day, it only made sense that they would. She had made it through the tests, possesses talents and could connect with her partner. Her problem was caring about the other stuff. But in the end, wasn't it all sacrificed for a successful mission?

"I didn't know how much more I could take from them." Monica sighed. "They call me messed up, but sometimes I do wonder if they're sending the right kids into these mechs."

She smiled. "Oh but just thinking about it now...I can't wait to see what true battle looks like."

(uwaaaah! Sorry for the delay... a snowstorm came out of nowhere and my internet service was down for the weekend! .-. )

Sierra clicked her tongue in annoyance. "I knew it! I can't believe you, Joelle... how can you even nap at a time like this? You should be stu -" she cut herself off mid-sentence, the words coming to an abrupt halt in the back of her throat and ending with a choking sound. The thought that had been at the back of her mind all morning had finally resurfaced. Had Joelle even reviewed?

In her frustration, Sierra clutched at handfuls of her hair. "You didn't even look at the notes I gave you, did you?! How do you expect to identify deviant monsters when you haven't even touched chapters 58-75 of section D? What if that is part of the test?"

She abandoned her pancakes and began frantically swiping her tablet with a finger, a determined look on her face. Around this time Corey decided to try his hand at motivating Joelle. "Im not stressing!" Sierra said in response to his greeting, though the tight pitch of her voice betrayed her words. After a moment her finger stopped its frantic scrolling and she gave a long sigh, tearing her eyes away from the tablet to look Corey in the eyes, or at least where she imagined his eyes would be behind the visor. "Okay, maybe a little." Her shoulders sagged at the words, as if admitting her apprehension meant defeat. "Sorry. I hope you are having a good morning too."

The scraping of Joelle's fork soon recaptured her attention, causing Sierra to give her a snippy look and cross her arms. "And Joelle is not playing any more stupid games unless she passes, and right now things do not look exactly promising!" With a huff she propped up her tablet directly in front of her partner's line of sight, using a sugar shaker to hold it up. "At least read this. Please."

She visibly flinched when she looked back at Corey only to find Timmy 'hugging' him from behind, that infamous smile plastered onto his face. Most SEEDs tolerated him, more thought he was odd, and others simply ignored him. As for Sierra, she hated to admit it but he made her more than a little uneasy. There was just something about him that was unwholesome. She couldn't say what it was though. Maybe it was his constant twitches or how he could become completely captivated the most mundane of things. Or perhaps it was his eyes that creeped her out the most. They could be either one of two extremes; hazy with reverie or full of emptiness. The latter was always what got her. She hated to admit it but at those times it was more like looking into the eyes of an animal than a fellow human.

Sierra realized she was staring and quickly sputtered out a greeting of sorts, trying her best to keep out her personal thoughts, as always. "Hey...Timmy." She managed a half-hearted smile that didn't reach the rest of her expression.

Reina's fierce glare remained fixed on her face even as Nico tried to console her. As expected he pulled her back into her seat, gentle hands guiding her away from the fleeing Minty.
"Hey, focus on me. I think we were close this time."
Involuntarily her eyes immediately snapped to his face when he spoke, other distractions momentarily forgotten. She didn't believe they had been very close though. Well maybe - she had kind of sensed the presence of his mind towards the end. The calm, blue energy that represented Nico had been just within her mind's eye when Minty went and ruined everything. And to make matters worse everyone else in the room had looked at Reina like she was the problem. She'd rarely heard Corey raise his voice or have any bite to it so it surprised her when the dark haired male snapped at her in Japanese. She felt Corey's attitude towards her was totally unwarranted. It was like he didn't care how much of a nuisance Minty was; he was always so affectionate and patient with her. She supposed that's what friendship was about. Not that she would know...

Reina's eyes widened almost comically when Minty shouted her retort. She would admit only to herself that the comment stung a bit, her cheeks flushed pink with embarrassment. Reina huffed loudly and crossed her arms over her chest feeling very self conscious about her breasts and their lacking size. "You little-" She cut herself off before going further as the white haired girl was already leaving the room with her partner Dio leading the way. Cursing at her retreating form wouldn't look cool and her image had already suffered enough as a result of the clumsy girl.

Reina's attention returned to her partner finally. She blinked at Nico before softly shaking her head 'no' and looking away from him, her expression downcast. There was no way she could focus with these emotions. One more try would only frustrate her further. "What's the point? We'll just have to wait till it's our turn for the test." She sighed heavily, slumping in the seat. Stupid Minty ruining things for her. She wanted the girl to get a taste of her own medicine. Her head snapped up suddenly and she stood, taking Nico by the hand and marching him towards the door.
She remembered there were open viewing rooms for the exams. And since Minty and Dio were up first maybe she could witness her mortal enemy failing spectacularly at the connection test. There was absolutely no way those two were compatible, regardless of what the tests said. That would be one hell of a confidence boost for her. "We're going to watch the others take their exams. Maybe learn a thing or two right? Though all we'll learn from Minty is how not to fail." Reina couldn't help the spiteful, evil snicker of delight as she prepared to enjoy the show. It was just too bad for Dio - he seemed like a capable pilot if nothing else.
"A necessary sacrifice. Hehe~"

Joelle mumbled to herself at being caught. She lazily gazed at Sierra who had began freaking out about her not studying for the test that might happen. Joelle never studied for tests, why would she start now? Joelle let out a annoyed sigh as someone flicked her forehead. She gave a halfhearted glare at the person who flicked her, it turned out to be Corey who flicked her. "Ya, ya... Whatever." She said waving him off. She wasn't going to fail the tests, she had done the same thing every time since she was 3 and never studied for things like this.

Joelle snickered at Sierra basically screaming that she 'wasn't' stressing. Joelle could promise that anybody, even someone who had never met her could tell that she was in fact stressing. Joelle started picking at her food as they spoke, not caring much for conversation, however this action seemed to turn the conversation to being about her. "Sierra, I think if I don't pass then I won't even be able to see anyone here, let alone play video games with one of them." Joelle grabbed the tablet and didn't even look at for longer than 1 second before putting it back on the table, she was done studying for the year.

Joelle tried to hold back her snickers as she saw Sierra visibly flinch at Timmy appearing. She started snickering to herself as Sierra greeted Timmy very awkwardly. Sierra needs to learn to calm down some times, be more chill. "Sup, Timmy." Joelle called lazily as she continued to play with her food.

Dio ID#373 / Minty
This whole thing was nothing out of the ordinary - and as expected, they had been addressed by their numbers. The monotony in that canned voice reflected the monotony of repetition that this first test represented. After this, it'd become part of the everyday for them. The white-haired young man glanced to his partner who had wordlessly followed him. Even if they shared as few words as possible and remained incompatible as people in general, the Pilot still held certain expectations from the child-like Navigator. That she'd pass this test. That she wouldn't deny him the battlefield.

Silently, he took hold of the circlet and took a seat. And, resisting the urge to grab at his head, Dio slipped the circlet onto his head. Of course, he wasn't expecting ideal results - just enough to pass this test. The same as usual, in other words.

***
Minty glanced around the rather large room, looking at the different equipment in the room. Everything seemed so high tech in the room, there was a sense of wonder and amazement in the air. It was surprising that her partner hadn't commented on the grand space of the room or even the ominous looking chairs in the middle. This was rather nerve wrecking, despite having her own partner in the room.

Upon hearing the instructions coming from the speakers, Minty nodded her little head before glancing towards the chairs. Come on you can do this! The female silently cheered herself on as she approached the chair. Making herself more comfortable, the small girl struggled to pick herself up onto the chair. It would be quite amusing if there were more people in the room despite there being on three currently situated.

***
His eyes were closed as he awaited the start of the test in silence. One beat. Two beats. Dio's eyes opened and he glanced back at his partner. Internally, he couldn't help but sigh. The equipment designers clearly didn't anticipate someone the size of a small child being subject to these tests, though you could hardly blame them. He sighed internally as he removed his circlet and arose from the seat.

The young man silently approached the Navigator - without warning, he scooped her into what could perhaps be called a "princess carry. Even with the amount of sweets and considerably imbalanced diet, her small frame still meant she was light enough for him. Thinking carefully, he decided against simply dropping her into the seat like a sack of potatoes - any pain could adversely skew the results of their test. Instead, he slowly lowered her into the chair - she'd be able to put circlet on by herself.

It wasn't out of a particular sense of attachment - intervening was simply the most direct route to the battlefield. He was certain that she was aware of that as well - after all, they rarely communicated outside of necessity. To outsiders, one could perhaps interpret this action in more affectionate or even romantic undertones. But the way he moved and the lack of emotions to be found on his face had rendered what would otherwise be a girl's innocent wish into a sterile procedure.

Dio returned to his seat and resumed his silent wait after slipping on the circlet. Hopefully, there wouldn't be any other hang-ups now.

***

Minty was having trouble with her seat, wondering quietly to herself as to why the chair was so high. When feeling arms wrap around her small frame, she glanced behind her to see who had picked her up. The girl had been surprised that it was her own partner who had helped her into her seat. She could not help but to blush slightly when he carried her like a princess to her chair, lightly placing her into her seat.

The small female smiled and offered a small gratitude towards her partner Thank you for the help Dio. From that point on, Minty adjusted herself in the chair before collectively calming herself down one last time. The white haired girl carefully slipped on her own circlet before settling down and awaiting the test.

***
With everything set, the test commenced as scheduled. The soft hum of the machine grew louder as it finished initialization. Although it looked as if nothing was happening to an untrained observer, the test began in silence - the staff within their semi-hidden cloister began to jot down the results as they appeared through their monitors.

If the young man had to describe a connection, he'd call it a handshake. Opening up a mental link between two people was intimate - but with the way he handled it, there was a certain amount of distance that prevented it from being anything than a formality. This sort of connection was unlike the one in a mech; it was at its most basic state. Here, neither the Pilot nor the Navigator had those strange, dissociative experiences that came with piloting a mech. They remained in their bodies at this moment, merely aware of the path opened between them.

Dio kept his eyes closed and his arms folded as he focused on the connection. He had heard that the strength of a relationship between the Pilot and Navigator was reflected in their connection quality, but even this sort of connection was passable by the Project's standards. It had to be, lest he be kept from the battlefield or washed out and denied his duty. Mentally, he could feel his Navigator's presence in the back of his mind - like a narrow passage between them. And yet, he didn't approach it. Even considering how advanced neuroscience was in this era, the young man was cautious and aware of the sanctity of the mind. Even if the small girl had gotten curious enough to try and root around his own mind for the secrets he'd never speak out loud, she'd find nothing. His mental fortitude was strong enough to restrict access even with a connection in place and his own memories were lacking, to say the least.

For all intents and purposes, the test was going well. The pair had never gotten anything but passable results and it seemed that it'd remain that way with the current progress of the connection.

***
Minty simply closed her eyes and began to focus on the sounds of her own breathing. She had heard the swirling of the cooling fans as the machines started to work their magic, meaning that the test was running. She didn't know what to expect out of this test, all that mattered was that they passed. As quickly as the machines were turned on, she could feel a calming pressure at the back of her head.

The pressure slowly began to build inside her head until she herself was mostly calm and being affected by this feeling. This was her own brain calming herself rather than the actual test, she was completely certain of this. Sensing another presence other than yourself was rather shocking, since you would be so used to the fact of your own thoughts being your own. However Minty had even become somewhat numb to that feeling, right now she was focusing on the connection instead.

Being connected with Dio felt more like a giant hug than anything. Nothing really was there between the two, Dio always kept his distance after all. Seeing as she would probably have to take the initiative, she began to channel her own thoughts into one questions and send them to him. What are we supposed to do now? She thought, trying to project her thoughts into the subconsciousness of her pilot.

***
"...Nothing. Just wait for it to end." Even his mental communication was succinct. With that single thought transmitted across the distance between the two, Dio resumed his almost meditation-like state - he focused solely on maintaining the connection. As moments continued to pass, he remained as silent as the dead. His presence was still there, of course, but it seemed to be more like a static object than a person at the other end. During these sorts of tests, the young man was careful to keep this mind clear. Stray thoughts made in the privacy of one's mind were no longer safe with a connection established after all.

After a few more minutes of silence, the machine began to quiet down as the connection faded away slowly. A voice came over the speaker once more, informing the two that the test had now concluded. And as expected, the results were passable. Dio removed the circlet from his hand and stood up. Anticipating further issues, he moved over to his Navigator's seat and waited. He'd help her out of the seat if she needed to, but as soon as that was done he was fully prepared to make a beeline back to the canteen to await further instructions.

***
"Alright then." Minty was compliant with Dio's answer, making sure that she would think about anything that would pass between them. Minutes ticked by in an endless cycle of darkness, the small girl began to feel bored as she sat in the chiar for god knows how long. However she couldn't let her mind wander or her thoughts would start to stream into his mind and he probably wouldn't want such images in his head. Soon the test ended and Minty was right back where she started, currently stuck in a chair.

Sure, she could jump down honestly but the chair was so high that she might've thought that she would hurt herself if she tried that. What surprised her even was when Dio walked over to her seat to help her out, she hadn't been expecting that one in the slightest. "A-Ah thank you! I could really need your help getting down...." Minty stated while looking down at her dangling feet.

***
Silence greeted her gratitude as the young man lifted her from her seat and stood her up on the ground. The Pilot's gaze flitted across the room - having been on both sides; Dio was aware of the viewing rooms and where to look. His cold gaze pierced through the physical barriers between him and his so-called audience before he adjusted his uniform and left the room first.

Perhaps to those outsiders, the events of this room may have left the impression that the Pilot named Dio was capable of warm acts of kindness. The truth, however, was that he was capable of kindness - only if it served to further his goals and advance his movements. Outside of the test , the young man was content to remaining silent once again. In his mind, he assured himself that he wasn't a good person - just a functioning gear. Though, even one gear wasn't enough to keep a machine going. Reflecting on the events in the canteen and his partner's behaviors, he decided on his next action.

With the test complete, Dio made a straight beeline back to the canteen to retrieve something...

Achilles Charbonneau and Monica Cromwell

Achilles took a second to take a few steps into the room, allowing his footsteps to echo and break the low hum that the machines were making. It wasn't an uncomfortable noise though, rather one that slipped into the back of your mind and soothed your tensions. Achilles didn't really have any tension to him but he left that where it lay. The hum took over his mind and he let his eyes slowly drift shut, a second before they managed to complete their transition however he heard the doors open once more an his partner entering. Turning to his side her smile came through first and a small grin was drawn out in response.

"I mean you could've ditched them earlier if you wanted, I made sure I took some distance after the whole ordeal with the queen today" He said and shook his head, it was obvious he was speaking of Reina. She was the only one who fit the description after all, walking around as though she was better than everyone else. Honestly someone needed to knock her off her precious pedestal or she'd keep thinking she was above them.

Following her vision he saw that she was gazing off towards the window, he couldn't help but turn back to it himself. Though it didn't last long as she spoke once more, their teammates were often belittled behind their backs when Achilles and Monica were alone. Of course those conversations never made it out of their alone time, either that or they'd be brought to light from a mere eye-lock during almost any time.

Mentally you could argue this pairing was a nightmare concoction and yet the numbers they held in the past gave no lies. He smirked, "C'mon now Monica. You're the least messed up person here, I've been inside you so I should know best of all" he said with a wink. It was unknown whether or not that was intended to try and be some lewd flirt or if he was trying to catch the staff off guard. "I'm sure it will be just what you expect of it, if it's too tame we can always spice it up. Anyways, would you like to take the first choice of chair?" He asked gesturing to the machine that was meant for their testing.

Monica"You know if I ditch, they'll think I'm avoiding them." Monica sighed. "And besides, poor cake girl wouldn't have her loving big sister to watch over her back, right?" Upon the mention of Reina, Monica merely chuckled. "Queen? Maybe for a house of cards. She's all talk but no bite."

She grinned. "You know sometimes I wonder. Based on what others have said about those with similar traits, I'm quite far from the norm. Same with you, Achilles."

It was interesting to think that two minds that were considered damaged could have such marvelous effects when paired together. Of course, she'd learned early on that results were more important for those adults watching them. The idea of privacy in this academy was a joke. And yet, Monica knew the adults wouldn't say anything. Because, like her, they'd come to the same conclusion.

Better to work with the monster than against it. They paired well with their job, and they did their job effectively. They ensured that the others were somewhat happy, even if a few of them had their doubts. In the end, the two of them built the team and for some random adult to accuse her or Achilles of being a psychopath was...annoying.

When Achilles asked which chair she wanted, she pointed at the right one. "I'll take this one."

AchillesAchilles chuckled to her remarks, "Dependency. It's cute to an extent, to have another person so totally captivated by you that they're but a mouse under your finger" He stated with an odd tone, not one people would expect from the flirtiest member of the SEEDs. It almost sounded malevolent, though his partner hadn't been wrong about anything so far. Or really as long as he could remember, "Ah. I share your sentiment on that, I wonder if she'll ever gather enough courage to strike out at someone."

"What can I say, we're just a couple of outliers in their graphic. I don't mind being an oddity though, it's something that none of them could manage." He said and thought back to how they had all been acting in the canteen. Black locks shook slowly as he trifled over such a simplistic matter, "They're just typical in the end."

Achilles had never been diagnosed as crazy or mentally deficient, however he knew that the average person wasn't anything like him. All the others in this program seemed to have something wrong with them, the idea fascinated him. Maybe he and Monica were the two normal ones, and everyone else were the ones who were 'cruel'.

Following her hand he made note of the direction from the chair to the window, "That works with me, I just wonder how long they're going to want us to do it this time" his voice bounced off the walls slightly and reverberated back in a dampened tone, which was just drowned out by his next word.

Honestly the people at this facility were either a pain in the neck or with a select few he managed to cope with. The only person he could really accept as an equal was Monica, since she was the only one who was sensible here. He just threw on an act for everyone else, that silly guy who flirted with you regardless of who you were. It wasn't completely false, he did enjoy flirting with some people.

"I guess we shouldn't make them wait any longer." His hand was thrown up towards the window before he dropped it again and looked over his shoulder to his partner. A small smile came to his lips, "We can keep talking once we're connected. Shouldn't be hard for us right?" his footsteps moved towards the left chair and he took his place, setting the circlet upon his forehead and glancing up to the window the intercom rang out again. "326 is in place. 384 once you take your place we will begin the procedure" The person said before it clicked off once more, they were probably getting everything ready to monitor the duo.

Achilles sighed, "I'm ready for you. As always" He spoke and that teasing tone came back to his voice once again. Connecting for him was an odd experience, he couldn't describe the sensation it usually gave. This time he'd make sure he could explain it clearly. With that he shut his eyes and cleared his mind, leaving him wandering in the darkness inside.

Monica"She won't. And even if she does, it would only serve to alienate her." Monica confirmed. She'd loosened her ponytail, so her hair fell down, partially covering her eyes. The odd shadows felt unnatural on her face, as did the demonic grin she was currently sprouting.

"384 is connecting." She smiled at Achilles. "I always expect the best." She shut her eyes, letting her body relax as the connection was established.

For Monica, it was a void. Always a void. Empty, quiet, neither cold nor hot. It was a state she was accustomed too. Perhaps, in some ways, it was almost exciting. But she kept her mind measured. Connected.

Her thoughts to his. His thoughts to her.

Before, she'd been accustomed to hiding such thoughts away from him. She was fearful that he'd have the same reaction as the others. Fear. Fearful at seeing something they shouldn't.

Thoughts of sadistic desires, cold calculations, logical pathways, sound observations and truths of human nature flooded her mind like a textbook on the evolution of their species.

AchillesAchilles couldn't argue with her on that for a moment so he smiled in return to his partners smile. The sinister appearance that she gained wasn't something that caused any shock to him, ironically he noticeably reacted with his own smirk. When she joined into the machine he couldn't help but chuckle at her response, "Hah! Tell me the last time I left you unsatisfied" he spoke as the primordial darkness within his mind took control and he was plunged into the middle ground. The place between connection and control, maybe they could maintain the connection for the rest of the day.. though if that were the case then they might be reading the thoughts of another all day.

After a few moments of the darkness taking over and silence filling the room he could barely hear the low humming outside of the machine coming to life, they were already monitoring them as it seemed. But this was to be expected as they were seeking results, not comfort. He moved his hand out into the darkness and it stopped on a solid surface of the void, he continued to push against it until he felt it giving way. Cracks of red light began to appear, almost as a crimson layer was held beneath it. After a moment it cracked and he moved through the suddenly semi-solid surface.

A chill raced down his body and established it's domain around the outside of his being, the ice that surrounded his body seemed to stay dormant for a moment. A small heat began to generate around the area of his heart, of course his mental body wasn't in control of this feeling that encompassed it. The heat around his heart was dull and comparable to a flickering ember on it's last legs, allowing his mind to slip further he could feel the presence of his partner.

They had to be close to connection, he didn't doubt it for a moment as they were the optimal pairing. Alpha and Omega if you will. The cold began to close in on the heat, spreading slowly from all sides and leaving numbness to his body. Soon all he could still feel was that small heat. Connection.

As he felt himself beginning to meld he knew that connection was this, the small heat erupted into a roaring flame and the chill was exterminated being replaced by the heat. He allowed his mentality to blend to his partners, where he began and she ended would be hard to know as he acted as Zinc, he mixed to form a mental alloy.

Another Successful Connection? His voice rang into the consciousness as he released his thoughts and feelings.

MonicaMost certainly. Monica's voice rang back, reverberating like an echo.

Here it's almost certainly the most private we'll ever get. Achilles would feel something, perhaps a sudden warmth running up his spine, as if someone was there.

I'm a lot more...different here. Monica felt bigger, stronger. Deadlier. If her thoughts could be described as an animal, it would be a wicked-looking monstrosity. A nightmarish monster that crept quietly, but with control.

As she connected with Achilles, her range of thoughts, emotions, and desires seeped in. Her annoyance with most of the team members. Her drive to prove her superiority in combat. Her alpha predator complex. The monsters were monsters to hunt. Prey to be shown or predators who had stepped into her territory.

The machines were a means to an end to establish that dominance.

Much like the classic horror movies of old, which often displayed vicious dinosaurs or monsters, Monica could easily fall into any of these forms. Her true needs were simple, almost too simple but easy to understand.

And yet, her monstrous form also held that of a little girl, containing it all under a thin veil of purity or innocence. The kind of innocence one expected of someone her age.

And yet, that innocence betrayed her.

She wasn't innocent. She was depraved. Sadistic. Stalking prey and observing patterns. Like a spider, she spun webs and lies.

And as she gathered Achille's emotions, he'd feel all of these. Experience them as she did.

AchillesAchilles couldn't help but smile at her confirmation, it was such a simplistic thing and yet it brought him an odd sense of joy.

The feelings he was beginning to experience were an oxymoron in themselves. The heat that gathered around his spine spread out in a single burst of frigidness, he couldn't help but to physically shudder at that. In our own minds, where we are the closest and yet the furthest, His voice expelled itself into their shared consciousness and bounced around slightly.

The aberrant emotions that crept towards him now weren't too off-set from his own feelings. One thing however never seemed to be completely understood to him, her predatory superiority. Though at the same time he could, he saw it as she wanted to be superior to their comrades... and to the world.

The waves of sadism and depravity came in surges and enveloped his being, his own perversion melded to them.

As he felt each of her feelings inject themselves into him it almost gave him a high from it, the different emotions swollen up within him and bubbled ferociously as they did.

I'd prefer you be diverse rather than the same as everyone He allowed his thoughts to circulate them now. Though different is definitely one way to describe you, since I would never expect you to send tingles up my spine, He was obviously the same person but with minor differences.

His form though similar to how he normally was, seemed to hold some distortion. Almost as if you were to throw a static filter over his form, his facial features were mainly blank on his grayed out figure. Save for a remorseless smirk that had pressed it's way to the figures face.

That form of course would be the most suitable for him, however he assumed his normal figure within the mental state, It's nice to be like this, Especially since the others can't interfere here.

MonicaI suppose. The beast responded, resting herself against him.

To be honest, I sometimes forget the problems they have. I have to remind myself every morning to smile and throw out my 'best' and offer to help them. If anything, the day in and day out of leadership gets boring after a while.

Truthfully, Monica was excited at the prospect of finally getting to kill a monster.

Monica's form rustled for a bit, and Achilles could feel that she was thinking about something else. A topic that was different.

It wasn’t fear, or rather it wasn’t a fear he was accustomed to feeling. She was scared, scared of being caught. Of having her carefully construed order thrown astray.

AchillesAchilles couldn't help but smile as Monica's form seemed to be relying on him. He couldn't help the giddiness that spread when he noted her excitement, it was cute that she'd get excited over combat.

At the same time it was dangerous and he couldn't help but feel even more inclined to help her, after all danger just gave him that much more of a rush.

A shift occurred a moment after as he could feel a quivering in his chest, fear?

Turning to face her he pulled the 'beast' into an embrace. Allowing his own warmth to seep into her body, Monica... Forgetting is human nature. We have to push through that or we fall off. We die. Personally I'm not willing to see you die.

A confidence had bolstered inside of him and swarmed outwards. She'd likely feel the overwhelming drive, an unmatched confidence. His form continued to hold hers close to him. His heartbeat echoing gently in this mental world.

Let me be the bad guy, you can be the hero. If you're worried that they'll come to hate you I just have to be worse. The crimson smirk etched it's way into his form once again. What kind of partner would I be if I didn't help you right?

Anyways.. we've been in here a bit. Think that we should head back? His voice rang out and the embrace seemed to weaken slightly as his form eased up now.

MonicaMonica's breathing seemed to steady, and the beast nodded, smiling at him as she allowed herself to be taken in.

It was true. Achilles often chose to play the bad guy if given the chance. He wasn't afraid to show his nature, or at least a partial bit of it. Still, even she admitted having him die would be...unfortunate to say the least.

They'd question our pairing if hero and villain were working together. Monica chuckled. But if anything, I hope to see you with me in the hunt.

With that, she slowly let herself fade away, wondering what awaited them on the other end.

AchillesYou know I always will be. Was the last thing Achilles left as he disconnected from his partner and whiteness took him over.

Opening his eyes he glanced around and deduced that the connection had been successful as the machine began to power off, their results had been recorded rather well. He removed the circlet from his head and stood from his seat, stretching now as he could to give the best results himself. "Alright then.. I think that went well. You feeling alright Mon Mon?" He asked deciding to give a nickname which he hadn't spoken to her in years.

The SEEDs all had a nice tangled past but this connection, well all the connections rather. That's what set them apart right? The thing that separated the strong from the weak, the alphas and the betas.

Due to how easily everything seemed to go he assumed their connection scores would be good and if not.. the machine would have to be broken. He glanced over to the window without knowledge of who stood behind it or what they were doing, all he knew is that they were there, probably.

"Remember what we talked about though. Unless that embarrassed you" He smirked as the same old Achilles he was, that same confidence still in him as he spoke now.

Monica"Don't call me that." Monica chuckled, waking up as well. "And of course, wouldn't want the scientists to worry that we have some secret second personality lurking around, right?"

The connection would probably score well. They'd interacted, connected. Felt each other's thoughts and emotions. Their communication was spot on. They were a perfect team. And unlike the others, they were ready to handle the pressure that came with successful combat.

AchillesAchilles smiled at that statement, "Oh come on. You like it" He stated simply before opening the door so they could leave, giving a wave to the person in the window. Once they'd both exited he let the door close behind them. "I wonder if any of the others will connect on that level.. or maybe we'll just stay as the strongest."

The idea itself didn't sound too bad to the navigator, they were efficient with what they did. Had an exceptionally strong connection, honestly the only thing that would give them competition is if another group was capable of matching them or outperforming them. Though the latter of the two seemed impossible.

Encounter!

"Breach in Sector Seven!"
The control of the micro-continent wasn't hard for the staff of EDEN to manage, the leader of the corporation was gone on business however. Naval professionals, military elites, all of which had been brought to this vessel to keep the children who would lead this world into tranquility secure. The sonar remained blank except for a few bleeps appearing, nothing more than sharks or maybe a whale. Regardless of what the deep sea object was they didn't seem to hold much of any worry about it.

A few of the seamen joked back and forth about the theoretical monsters of old, how they used to fear a giant squid called the Kraken. It almost seemed silly to them. Up until they realized that now the same beast could be half the size of the globe. The captain shook his head in the control room, "Seas are calm out there. Wise of us to choose the ice to store the SEEDs. Not as nice to put our so called Garden out there" The captain grumbled before taking a deep drink of his coffee, steam rose and fogged up his monocle. The hat atop his head holding the image of an anchor as he lowered the mug to the table instead.

The sonar suddenly picked up on a red bleep, "Just one. Seems to be a low threat class" the man over the screen spoke and the captain shook his head, "She'll hold." As the words were spoken the sonar began to light up, doubling again and again of the amount. The beeps going off in a chaotic rhythm slowly it would be realized what was occurring as at least forty red dots had filled the screen. On the other side of the room a woman yelled out, "Abyssal level Kaiju 62 clicks out. Captain, should we aler-" Her voice was cut off as the captain was on the phone yelling to the alerting staff of the continent.

All the red dots seemed to swarm towards one area of the micro-continent. Beneath the waves a frenzy of Cun Domn swarmed the bottom of the ship, sector seven to be precise, they moved at a speedy pace too. The aquatic creatures neared the vessel before it was felt, in order to keep parts of the vessel from exploding they had to rig it so it moved in sectors, however they were all in a locked form for the moment. The force was tremendous, an echoing crash hit the vessel and would cause a ferocious shaking of the vessel, they seemed to be surrounding the sector. The back left quadrant, close to the center. They took turns causing the shaking to increase rapidly.

Red lights began to flash throughout the entire ship, the Gen 4 rooms were locked electronically along with the staff rooms. Only those in sector 3, the gen threes, would be capable of doing anything. The testing machinery would power off as the intercom clicked to life and a panicked feminine voice echoed throughout the entire ship. "Sector Seven has been breached. Repair Squadron dispatch at once. Gen three's report to the deck at once" The voice spoke before it cut off once more. This was undoubtedly a circumstance no one had time to prepare for. However, once the seeds moved upwards to the deck of sector three they would meet their combat with the monsters who attacked their home.

In the distance the Abyssal level bleep made it's way towards the vessel as well however it would take some time, the staff assumed forty minutes. Atop the deck of sector three, seven panels released steam and began to slide open. Moving upwards were the mechs that each pairing piloted, each extending only to the point that the SEEDs could enter it. Crewmen worked to set up for the proper entry procedures, along with dropping chemicals off the side of the boat in attempts to draw the Kaiju out to the sides, however this idea failed.

The only option would be to fight the kaiju in their habitat, the sea.

Minty HibikiMentions: N/A

Minty was steadily trying to make sure that she wouldn't trip over her feet for the duration of the walk back. Her feet had the tendency to "give out" whenever she was done with test, she mostly blamed it over her lack of balance while walking. Along the way she had been constantly tripping over her feet more than usual, however she would always catch herself before she would hit the ground. So when she tripped and fell a second time, she knew it wasn't her own fault this time.

While her hands were placed on the floor as she tried to get more of a balance, vibrations could be felt within the palms of her hands. They steadily began to become bigger to the point even she could feel them in her feet as she walked. Must be an earthquake....hope it will pass soon. Minty thought to herself as she tried her best to stay centered while continuing down the hallway. She had been walking back to the canteen, almost nearing the doors, when she heard the alarms go off. Ok, definitely not an earthquake!

Which meant that there was an attack from the kaiju probably, she was going to be needed now. Minty's eyes slowly started to turn dull, that liveliness in her eyes was dying out. "Seems like I should start heading to my mech then. I hope everyone won't get hurt, I'll try my best with Dio." Her was less cheerful as she started to She was suppressing her child like urges in favor of combat, dealing with kaiju was what she had been training for her entire life.

There was no need for those other urges as well, they would simply have to wait until the job was done. Candy and cake had to wait as well, they had to be put on the back burner for now, against the better judgement of her secondary urges.
