Paris, France, 1635. The country has reached a peak of evolution such as has never been seen before thanks to the Renaissance, with art, music, fashion and culture at the forefront of the boom. However, not all is well throughout the land, as both native and international conflicts stir thanks to Louis XIII,s colonial expansions and troubles at home in the form of Protestant uprisings.
Though while Louis and his advisors deal with the issues presented in the light, Cardinal Richelieu faces those in the dark, threats unknown to the common man. The Dragons have emerged from the shadows of their defeat, more determined than ever to claim rule over the world of men. And to that front, his long-disbanded shadow guard are once more called on to serve King and country, and perhaps even more...
The Cardinal's Blades: Gardes de l'Ombre is an AU take on 'The Cardinal's Blades' book series by French author Pierre Pevel. Blending history with fiction, magic and mystery, the roleplay will explore the lives of a group of individuals and their tale, drawn together under various circumstances to form a secretive elite group, keeping the supernatural at bay from the shadows; The Cardinal's Blades.
What we offer
A mix of real life historical France and fantasy, where steel and dragonfire clash.
A blend of genres, including action, adventure and mystery.
A small group of 18+ friendly, experienced and committed roleplayers.
A group Discord and custom made Wiki, with over 30 pages of lore and original character biographies.
We now have a nearly full group, but are seeking one more, who could fill the role of a inventor/scholar type of character to add to the roster!
Note that this would not be an established character or taking over from a previous player, but a brand new one to be designed from scratch.
