However, not all is well throughout the land, as both native and international conflicts stir thanks to Louis XIII,s colonial expansions and troubles at home in the form of Protestant uprisings.
Though while Louis and his advisors deal with the issues presented in the light, Cardinal Richelieu faces those in the dark, threats unknown to the common man. The Dragons have emerged from their long exile, more determined than ever to claim rule over the world of men. And to that front, his long-disbanded shadow guard are once more called on to serve King and country, and perhaps even more...
The Cardinal's Blades: Gardes de l'Ombre is an AU take on 'The Cardinal's Blades' book series by French author Pierre Pevel. Blending history with fiction, magic and mystery, the roleplay will explore the lives of a group of individuals and their tale, drawn together under various circumstances to form an elite group, keeping the supernatural at bay from the shadows; The Cardinal's Blades.
