Strengths and weaknesses will affect how quickly you pick up certain skills. Someone who's strong academically will pick up computer and medical skills quicker than someone who isn't. Someone who isn't strong physically isn't going to be lugging around heavy weaponry for long periods of time.

in the Styx gang. At 19, the gang mysteriously went cold, all bases
evacuated and all known members disappearing. The only remaining member was
Johnathan, who at the time had moved to Earth and applied as an Ensign in the
US Space Navy under a false identity. Four years later, Jack was a
commander of his own ship, dubbed Betty. Days later, he defected;
all records of the man and his duties in the organization absent. Jack
was captured in a campaign that took four more years in his vessel in dark space,

his cargo containing mined ion ore, a highly volatile and blacklisted energy source.
Monroe was incarcerated and shortly after sent to Eurydice.

Personality: Psych Analysis of Mason L. McLoughlin:
Highly manipulative, narcissistic, and genius level intellect indicate a psychopathic personality, yet complete lack of empathy has yet to be proven allowing him to scrape by the personality test for viable "volunteers". His large use of sarcasm and complete lack of respect for authority figures make him difficult to say the least. Although his recent good behavior in Callisto Penitentiary Maximum Facility (CaPMaF) has made him even more viable for volunteer work as a government soldier.

Biography: Record of Mason L. McLoughlin:
Mr.McLoughlin was born on a passenger ship heading from Earth's Moon to Titan. The newly forming colonies there were promising new jobs, affordable living space, and clean breathable air made possible by the customized Terra-former's. Of course that was only true for as long as it needed to be. Once enough people came in jobs became just as scarce as back home. So instead of getting the jobs they wanted, his father became a construction worker to make room for all the new colonists and his mom became a secretary for the same company. But at least they had "affordable living space" in the worst slums imaginable.
Growing up , like most kids, absolutely hated school. It was boring to him. Everything seemed too easy, like he was going through the motions. Pretty soon he started skipping class to go to the library, the museum, anything he could use to teach himself. His parents scolded him for it, but it didn't matter much after his dad was caught between brick wall and a misfired demolition blast. Soon after his mom skipped town and he was officially orphaned. He was able to live alone for a few months, living off of the money he got from selling his skills to his classmates... and drugs, mostly drugs. Parent teacher conferences rolled around and he was caught before he could make any plan to escape.
Soon he was shipped off to the planets disciplinary school, and his entire life since has been a string of crimes, each more bold than the last. In his early years most of it was small jobs for criminal organizations. People apparently pay very well for a good hacker. Eventually he went to his own organized bank robberies. Next he goes sideways and decides to join a hacktivist group that borders on terrorism called Aequatus Hominum which roughly translates to "Equal Men". Their last endeavor to divert power away from life support systems in the Pentagon and suffocate the entire Senate and CEO for Aquila almost worked, if it hadn't be rescheduled for refueling that day. Once he was caught, he was immediately placed in maximum security prison.
It should be noted that this document is recently developed as Mr.McLoughlin previously erased all digital records from all databases. The only reason we were able to identify him is because of the paper documents used at his school that held his fingerprints and blood type. They used paper due to the unreliable power in the early stages of colonization. We were able to piece together the little we have on him from that file and numerous police reports fitting similar descriptions.

I won't cover all nations that exist within this RP but these are some of the new ones that exist:

Republic of Korea: both Koreas unified in early 21st century

Scotland achieved independence, along with Catalonia and Basque, Kurdistan

United States still exists but is now made up of 42 states.

Alaska joined the Canadian Commonwealth. Southern California, Arizona, New Mexico, Utah, Colorado, Oklahoma and Texas are part of Mexico and Hawaii is independent.

If you want to add a hypothetical nationality to your character that may exist in the future, you can.

The US, China, Japan, Korea, Russia, India, Argentina, Germany and Australia have all established colonies on the moon but there are citizens from many different countries across the world. I'll create a thread with information on this later today.

Personality: An oddity when compared to most of our "volunteers", Alyx M. Vasil is, relatively speaking, stable and authority-loving. Her excessive experience in labs has made her distanced, calculatory, and socially incapable, though her sense of gallows comedy has only been amplified. An I'll-do-it-better-alone attitude mixed with very literal wording is a direct contributor to her isolation.

Biography: Alyx M. Vasil was born in what remains of continental Australia, where she flowed through her childhood years like most do. While her schooling was well below average, due in large part to her parents' poor economic standing, both being unemployed for the great majority of their lives, she had always taken it as her mission to go above and beyond what was expected of her. With the helping hand of -REDACTED-, one of the select few instructors at her academy who believed she could amount to anything, she spent nearly every second of her time learning all that she could about the modern sciences. Eventually gravitating towards Astronomy and Nuclear Engineering, where she settled in the more theoretical side of things. Observation and hypotheticals were far more interesting to the young scientist than actually producing her contraptions, which, while unusual, allowed her to focus her efforts. After having come of age, she acted upon a risky decision, relocating to Mercury. There, she was allowed to study the solar system's core with little interruption and ample assistance.Years passed, she had been awarded her doctorate for creating rough plans for a means of tapping into Sol's energy, using it as a nearly infinite power source. Rough ideas had never been enough for her, however, and it soon became an obsession. It was during this phase of self-induced slavery that -REDACTED- was executed for a lengthy list of unproven crimes. Enraged by the government's negligence in the case, the woman, dubbed "Nova" by her peers who were convinced that her ideas would only lead to the destruction of the sun, began slipping information to several large gangs and rebel forces. She never fell under suspicion but was eventually sold out by a buyer who turned out to be far more of a loyalist than they had appeared. Charged with Treason of the highest order, she escaped with her life under an agreement to serve in a penal battalion.

Role: Rifleman (Could operate as a Combat Engineer if needed, though officially untrained.)

As a die hard pragmatist, James is an expert in choosing whatever benefits him or his comrades the most. He doesn't choose what is morally right, he chooses whatever choice is the most logical.

Explosives:
He is competent in making, arming, and disarming all matter of explosives, including basic nuclear warheads.
Weaknesses: 1-3 (at least an equal number to strengths)
Severe PTSD:
Having experienced severe childhood trauma of both the physical and emotional kind, along with trauma later in life, James is a broken man, on the verge of total insanity due to his often vivid flashbacks.
Mild Dementia:
Due to his PTSD, James has developed a form of dementia that causes vivid hallucinations he has trouble discerning from reality.
Possible High-Functioning Sociopath:
Due to his lack of empathy for those he kills and his extremely cold attitude, James may be a sociopath, though it is only a theory.
Personality: Psyche Report by Dr. Johnathan Karnov:
The man who calls himself James Woodard is a truly broken and troubled individual. He is nearly sociopathic in the way he kills those who threaten him or his comrades, sometimes brutally and without empathy. He has shown signs of PTSD and mild Dementia, the two possibly being related. He also has some self-destructive tendencies such as violent outbursts and antisocial behavior.

Biography: Born in one of the toughest slums in colonized space, James was never a well fed or loved person. His father was an alcoholic rapist who constantly beat and molested his daughter, who took it to protect James. She took to drinking and several drugs, eventually dying of an overdose. Having nothing to live for, James tied his father to his bed and burned the house down, feeling nothing but cold emptiness as he heard his father's screams. He survived by scavenging and stealing, having a knack for tech and mechanics. He joined the Navy when he was eighteen, hoping to escape his old life and move on. He did move on, for a while. A hull breach on his ship caused him to see all of his comrades to die horrible deaths while his officers ran. He later intentionally sabotaged the sealant on their escape pods, watching them as their organs exploded out of every crevice. He was later court marshalled and sent to the 1st Regiment, as was recommended by the psychiatrist who evaluated him.

Weaknesses: Helpless with math/calculations, doesn't have very much endurance, very bad temper.
Personality: (very similar to me) Alexus has a bad temper. The end. She tries to be sweet but has a hard time with not having a cynical point of view on nearly every situation.
Biography: Alexus grew up in a simple, middle class family on earth. She spent most of her childhold actively avoiding her parents and keeping to herself in her room. She had her sister to comfort her from the yelling and fighting between the two, which would often lead to one of them leaving the house for extended periods of time. The small town Shen grew up in, however, held onto very old-fashioned valued and had outlawed divorce, as well as several other acts. (The last part is an excuse for me to have a straight character for once). When she was nearly 18 and about to go off to a large medical school, her mother and sister were both beaten and killed, leaving her with no one to go back to, and her living in disillusion. She still finished medical school however, since it was the only thing that kept here going besides her sister, and became a doctor. The events after this have been classified for security.
(TL;DR, she hadda the badda parents and now has bipolar disorder. Yaaaaaay)

Personality: Lance is very dedicated to whatever he does no matter how small the task. He can seem very serious and cruel, but he is rather nice once you get to know him and get on his good side or help him, he never forget those who help him.
Biography: Lance was born to a couple from Earth travelling to Mars on their vacation, Lance's mother gave birth to him on Mars and then left with her husband, leaving Lance behind to grow up on Mars. He soon began his life in an orphanage in the lower sectors of Mars. Once Lance reached the age of 6, he was put to hard labor from his orphanage, illegal, but no one was there to prevent it, police rarely went down to the lower sectors. Lance's childhood was hard, during his childhood, he got involved in drugs, beginning to deal them to the other children and people living in the lower sector, earning himself money, he'd hide this money under the floor tiles in his room, where it would be safe. One day, Lance was working at an industrial sites, as he was walking by a large metal building, he tripped in the mud and fell on his face, a pole then rolled down from an upper platform and smashed his left arm and leg, which caused them to be amputated, replaced by simple cybernetics, weaker than real limbs, but strong enough to keep Lance working. Lance had few friends and most of them not real friends.

Once Lance had grown up and become 18 years old, he was thrown out of the orphanage, having to live and survive on his own, Lance really got into the drug business, selling it a lot. Lance started to become known, he had a gang that he ran. Through selling drugs, Lance had acquired quite a lot of money, with this money, Lance upgraded his cybernetics. Lance soon started his gang of drug suppliers and dealers, Lance and his gang "The Martian Fists", as Lance began to expand, he acquired a nickname, "Fist of Mars", he'd deal very harshly with his enemies or people that were traitors to him, he heated up a metal fist and slammed it onto the chests of those who he deemed as traitors and enemies. Lance continued growing his gang, taking over the Lower Sector and expanding into other businesses, such as, weapons dealing, human trafficking and a few more. During his expansion, Lance and his gang created a drug "Mars Dust" a highly effective drug that caused hallucinations and ecstasy, it was very good business, the drug was classed as highly illegal, therefore very expensive, few know the recipe. Lance was captured and arrested in the space-port, when he was trying to sell 350 women to a gang from the Moon. Lance was then quickly sentenced to life in prison, travelling from one prison to other. Once Lance was arrested, his cybernetics were removed and were replaced with non-electronic prosthetics.

While this occurred throughout much of his adolescence, Hiran had also been approved by a local gang for recruitment. Many of his close friends were of familiar uniform to the Mumbai Snakes. As a result of this structure, they took on a far more illicit performance which saw them on tour through Mumbai - broadening their territory.
At nineteen, Hiran developed a fascination with cybernetics and prosthetic protuberance. When he was twenty, Hiran hacked off his right arm below the elbow amidst much discomfort. Street surgeons managed to fasten a prosthetic to his arm, then engineer its functionality (which Hiran improved himself later on). A senior member of the Mumbai Snakes at 28, and one of the Snake Heads (aka. Copperhead), Hiran is in charge of day-to-day operations involving drug and cybernetic distribution in western Mumbai. A military raid into a government compound the gang captured and held for 92 days ends with hundreds of arrests and many executions. Hiran was sentenced to sixty years imprisonment, though opted to affiliate himself with the confederacy.

Personality: Dogged and unrelenting, mission focused to a fault. Kliment will allow nothing get in the way of a mission and sees enemies - in the form of opponents and restrictive superiors - wherever he turns.

Biography:

Kliment was raised in the section of Flooded Philidelphia where neither rain nor night seemed to end. He forgot his parents as soon as he left them - he forgot anyone, once their function was complete. Determined not to be the dorntrodden but to be the downtrodder he saw success first as a plainclothed agent in the Police, then Monarch's civil enforcement office. He hunted down and retired those he had to, while earning on the side as a fixer who knew his way around the law. He became the attack dog and bodyguard of a wealthy industrialist.


He was horribly injured in an attack that killed his principle. He was reconstructed to serve Monarch once more, but his erratic and murderous behaviour afterward - a rogue path of revenge that cut across the Americas- saw him fired, blacklisted, and sent to this Penal Unit in disgrace.
