The Scourge of the Outer Rim. The Harbingers of Blood. The Voth’s Bane. These are a few of the names for the Bloodraven Pirates, the most feared band of mercenaries and raiders in the western Outer Rim.

They originated from the ruins of the Old Republic. In the period of chaos and disorder following the Clone Wars and the fall of the Republic, the Outer Rim fell into ruin. Pirate gangs, Hutt clans, and crime families fought viciously for control. Arwen Bloodraven first emerged here as the leader of small pirate gang. With his clever and ruthless tactics, Arwen did more than survive the war. He thrived. As Arwen quickly amassed power, wealth, and men, so too did his influence. He and his Bloodravens had become one of the major players.

The Bloodravens, however, only developed a truly galactic reputation when the Empire arrived. Imperial troops sought to restore order to the Outer Rim, devastating Arwen’s competitors with their sheer firepower. In the meantime Arwen planned and prepared, and when the Empire came for him, he was ready.

Arwen’s pirates, under his command, engaged in an incredible series of crippling skirmishes with the Imperial Navy. The Empire was forced back. Then they returned, and were routed again. And again. Eventually a commanding Admiral saw that restoring order to Bloodraven territory wasn’t nearly worth the effort, and ceded it to the pirates.

Since then the Bloodraven Pirates have operated unrestricted in the western Outer Rim. On Talos Prime they established their headquarters and eased up on their raiding lifestyle. Arwen grew tired of the constant bloodshed; he grew soft and fond of luxury. The old pirate only demanded that their protectorate pay appropriates fees and tribute to the Bloodravens. For those unfortunate few to disobey, Arwen allowed his pirates to do as they wished.

Recently the Bloodraven sector has been relatively quiet until last year, undisturbed by the Empire or other major criminal organizations. Then, in a flash, Arwen passed away. His successor, a young man adopting the title of “Warlord,” promptly demonstrated just how different he was. Where Arwen was cunning and ruthless, but fair, Warlord exhibited only cruelty. He had all dissenting voices executed among his ranks, tripled his tribute demands, and restored the war against the Voths within days of succession.

Many of the restless pirates cheered for his bloodthirsty and sadistic rule, while others cried for the peaceful years under Arwen. In the year that has passed since Warlord came into power, the western Outer Rim has become more violent and cutthroat than ever before. Warlord keeps his people in check through fear, but there are still pirates among the Bloodravens who believe he has gone too far.

Now, one year after Arwen’s death and Warlord’s rise, the fate of the Bloodravens falls into your hands, traveler. What will you decide?
