The Kingdom of Galilee, home to a population of thirty-three million six hundred sixty-five thousand people, and once home to the late King William and his Wife Rose who were unlike other rulers or officials who sat in their castles and mansions and ruled as untouchable figures, King William and Rose mingled with the people of the capital, getting to know how their people lived and what he could do make the kingdom more prosperous. It was at that time, Sky, their only son, and heir to the throne were born much to the kingdom's joy that caused a three-day celebration.

Galilee prided themselves not on their military and magical might, but on the products like rice, salt, silk, and glasswork that they sell and make along with other things, however, things weren't meant to be when Caym, a ruthless mage and general war seeker sought to take the power from the kingdom's core, the source of all magic within the kingdom to himself to in his mind, to better the kingdom by having a person on the throne who was suited more for wartime due to conflicts along the border and were growing closer to the kingdom itself and would invade the castle killing William and his wife when he had taken them by surprise in the Capital City of Easons, where the castle and our story begins on the eve of Sky’s ninth birthday.

Luarn, who was both a mage and Sky's minder, had seen what was going on and in a panic, used the servant's halls to smuggle a protesting Sky out of the castle, trying to get the young heir to quiet so they wouldn't be seen, but it was all for naught when one Caym's men, spotted them and started to chase after them, but it was not meant to be and Luarn lost his life to protect the heir who also been injured and now lost...

Eleven years later, little did anyone know that things were about to change since people had been looking for the missing prince since that night with rumors that he might still be alive all this time, many wishing that they could return to the old ways while many wishing to end the boy's life, however none but the people in the castle knew that the kingdom is in danger and was sitting on a magical time bomb.

Information about Magic and the Kingdom's Core:

The kingdom cores draw upon the abundant magical power from the world, an artifact that exists to let the person who becomes its master make use of that vast magic power, such as the royal family to protect their kingdoms from attacking armies, monsters, etc. via a ritual that's past down from the current ruler to say, daughter or son at a young age. In this case, the missing prince, the ritual won't work if the said person isn't magically strong or until they are of age.
There is of course a way around it if the kingdom is taken over but only if all heirs are well no longer existing or the current heir gives up their rights to the throne, that is why the tyrant now sitting on the throne is unable to use it. With the old king now dead, the prince would have been able to do the ritual and become the new master of the core, but due to losing his memories and such, the core has been gathering power without an outlet sort of speak, so it's becoming fragile and unstable which people are now starting to notice.

For example, a beginner's level fireball one moment is the weakest spell out there, the next time someone uses it, they set a whole forest on fire, as well as the magical items one uses for daily life such as public transport [trains and other magical modes of transport] cooking, lighting, etc. are failing.

Below are the Core and Core Chamber. Just ignore the person in the picture xD it's from the manga Death March to another world.

It wasn’t until one night, near his 9th birthday, that things were shattered when an evil mage attacked the castle, killing both the king and queen, Sky was able to escape thanks to a quick-acting servant, but due to falling that resulted in him getting injured, he lost his memories until he was found by a retired adventurer turned baker and his wife who were coming back to Easons from visiting family in another town.

When Cyam was a younger lad, by all means, he had a normal happy childhood as an heir to a minor but wealthy noble in one of the many minor towns along the borders of Galilee, when he was a young adult, tragedy struck when his parents were killed when their carriage had been attacked by bandits. But at the time, he had to push down his grief since at the time, his wife Lyana just had their first child Vespaira, followed some years later by Seraphina. [Will change this line if need be.]

For a time, the three of them were a happy family, with him teaching both girls magic and other things, how to run the manor, etc, that was, until Lyana and Vespaira were killed by Cugary, the kingdom that bordered Galilee’s troops in a skirmish that broken out, and that was when something snapped inside of him.

For months beforehand, he had sent countless letters to the capital, begging them for troops or even guidance about what to do, only to receive radio silence. Then one night, he was approached by a few others in the providence along with even others that were of similar thoughts, that King William must go, if the kingdom was to head to war with Cugary since he and others knew that the King was not suited for war.

On the night of Prince Sky’s Ninth Birthday, Cyam and the others raided the castle, where things took a bitter turn, no one truly knows what happen that night, other than Cyam was crowned the new king and the prince was missing.

In the years that have passed, Cyam and the other advisors know that the core is very close to going boom, and sent out an order to stop at nothing to find Sky.

Question: what's magic like in the world? And what level of tech do people have?

(example: there's street lights and indoor plumbing, but it runs off of magic instead of electricity)

That's kind of a long the lines I was thinking in terms of tech, and I do apologize if I'm slow in getting to answers since I'm at work atm.

Also, they kind of like have trains etc as well, even if people prefer the old way like horses, walking, carriages etc. Depending on how long the trip is in kind of a sense.

I love it 😍 This is my fave kind of magic setting haha
So all of this is starting to fail now that the kingdom's magic is becoming unstable, yeah?

(Not slow at all and no worries: irl first 😊)

And yes, kind like "The train always comes at Noon. Now if your lucky, it might show up next Tues."

If my mental math is right, the old king has been dead eleven years. So quite a long time for the kingdom to start going to poo lol

"Nervous? Don't be. Have a seat and pour yourself some tea. I've got worse secrets of yours that I've yet to spill. So, let's talk numbers."

Full Name: Dame Arlamyne Vogelweiss

Alias/Monikers: Madame Doe (when dealing with clients), Robin (by day), and the Vogelweiss runt.

Age: 27

Birth: “Somewhere in the autumn,” she’d say, but wouldn’t answer fully.

Height: 4’11”

Weight: 45kg

Hair: Black

Eyes: Black

Occupation: Former falconer and informant for the tyrant ruler. Currently an information broker.

Parents: Wingate Vogelweiss and Izumi Vogelweiss (both currently residing in the east, the world’s equivalent of Asia in hiding, undercover like the rest of the family)

Siblings: Lt. Adler Vogelweiss (26, lieutenant within the neighbouring realm’s secret police), Lady Avery Vogelweiss (24, wife to a lord in the neighbouring realm), and Armand Vogelweiss (22, University student studying alchemy in the neighbouring realm.)

Hobbies: Tending to her birds, reading, and taking walks. Madame Doe (fuelled by insecurity but also seeing it necessary for her work) is strict when it comes to appearances, maintaining skin, hands, and all aspects of herself to remain top-notch. Feeding the city square pigeons during the little down time she gets (most mistaking her for an old lady from afar.) Since childhood, Madame Doe was trained in the violin, a commonplace thing amongst the nobles—training their children in an instrument. Into adulthood Madame Doe carried this, reminiscing the days she'd play in a quartet with her siblings or other noble children.

Likes: Her birds, gossip, money, jewellery, pastries (especially from the Nightingale’s bakery) and coffee, the chief librarian, and jokes (puns). Likes blood but doesn’t need it to survive (it does help her heal faster though.)

Dislikes: Alcohol, glasses, people touching her birds, when clients don’t pay, her family, and the tyrant. Madame Doe hates doing chores, even summoning her creatures to do it for her. The unstable magic, interrupting her way of life (especially the plumbing, she sorely misses consistently hot baths.)

Strengths: Her flock of birds count as her eyes. Thanks to her family’s hereditary ability to scry through the eyes of birds, Madame Doe doesn’t have to move in order to observe wherever she wants. The further away a bird flies from her though, the more birds she needs to stop scrying through to put more energy into maintaining the link between her and the far away bird. But when she has no need for seeing that far, Madame Doe tends to have a large flock in her vicinity as her surveillance, that’s how she usually evades her enemies and the law. It’s how Madame Doe is so successful in gathering secrets as well.
Madame Doe has an air of ease, which can set others at ease with her laid-back manner of speaking and smile, a stark contrast to her merciless and cruel self. Madame Doe is greedy, and won’t hesitate to do or say what she needs with some mean remarks.

Combat-wise, Madame Doe isn’t much of a direct fighter, but is proficient in magic, primarily conjuration. Madame Doe primarily fights in the shadows and away from the actual fight, her summons fighting for her. She can live through a hand-to-hand fight with a knife and her nimble nature.

Weaknesses: Insecure about not being acknowledged, Madame Doe tried to counteract it by being someone anonymous, but revelling in her reputation as “the Watcher.” Madame Doe dislikes anyone knowing about her deep down or her past, preferring to stick to surface-level relationships out of fear of being rejected. Madame Doe has poor vision, so she heavily relies on her birds to see and when in combat (in actuality she just needs glasses but dislikes the look of them on her.) Lacks brute strength.

Character Background: Madame Doe was born to a family loyal to the true royals, the Vogelweiss family, a family of dhampirs. For generations, they’ve served as their falconers and delivered their messages, especially when it came to covert communications. Why the loyalty? Because the Odinsons took in the first Vogelweiss, who was a struggling vampire (freshly turned and with nowhere to go), and gave him purpose, him serving the family and teaching his own descendants to do so. The vampire blood in the Vogelweiss’ eventually diluted, but traits remained. Madame Doe was raised to be the next falconer of the royal family and was promised that position, Madame Doe the only one inheriting the Vogelweiss’ ability. That was, until the royal family fell to the new evil that plagued the land.

Unlike the rest of the family, however, Madame Doe didn’t care who her employer was, she wanted the very thing her family pressured her for, position as Royal Falconer. For the short while she held the position, Madame Doe didn’t get the acknowledgement she expected from her family. You see, they were strong supporters of the old family, but Madame Doe was so blinded by years of pressure and neglect that in her mind, achieving this is what’ll give her value in the world. It didn’t. To make things worse, her family’s support was discovered and Madame Doe was fired for “disloyalty”, despite her staying neutral in the affairs of the kingdom. Not only that, her superiors had sent someone to dispose of her. Madame Doe survived, vanishing and forging a new identity. Out of spite, she told anyone who was willing to provide the coin information she knew about the tyrant, their operatives, and the like. Overtime, Madame Doe grew a penchant for collecting secrets and gossip through various, and sometimes unsavoury means, and selling them to the highest bidder, all under anonymity, granting her the moniker “the Watcher,” and has been dealing in secrets ever since.

But the one secret she wished to find is the identity of the prince, knowing it’ll be the jackpot to set her for life. But will she give in to her anger and spite, or learn to forgive and overcome it?

By day, Madame Doe lives under the guise of Robin, an unassuming librarian at the kingdom’s public library, spying on the kingdom and collecting secrets one by one.

Name: Neil (how he introduces himself and what he was called by his mother), lord Cornelius Ravenford (full name)

Age: 28

Birth: March 11th

Height: 6'1

Weight: 65 kg

Hair: very dark brown

Eyes: hazel

Race: human

Occupation: bookshop attendant, former sailor/navigator

Parents: lord Killian Ravenford and lady Jade Ravenford

Siblings: none

Hobbies: reading, studying maps

Likes: flowers, smell of old books

Dislikes: the tyrant, rude clients, storms, snow

Strengths: He's a skilled navigator, has high stamina, knows the basics of fencing.

Weaknesses: Due to his trauma, he is unable to board a ship or enter a body of water such as sea, lake or river. He's also physically weak.

Character Background: Neil was born as an only child to a noble family. His father had a reputation of being a power-hungry political player, and though it was true to some extent, he'd always been loyal to the King. During Neil's childhood, his parents provided him with everything he wanted. The only thing they were strict about was the boy's education – he was being prepared for taking over his father's responsibilities someday.

When Neil was 16 years old, his father, sensing that uncertain times were coming, arranged for him to marry a girl from another noble family to strengthen the Ravenford's political position. To avoid a marriage with a stranger, the boy ran away from home and joined a merchant ship's crew, keeping his identity a secret. Overtime, he took an interest in navigation. His witts and talent was shortly recognized and he was allowed to become a navigator's apprentice. The time went by, until one day, a storm caused the ship to sink. The only person to survive was Neil. The young man had lost all of the people he had spent the last few years of his life with.

He moved to the capital where he's been living and working in a local bookshop for about a year. When he tried to find some information about his parents to reconnect with them he heard that a few years ago they were charged for treason and sentenced to death. Feeling that he has nothing to lose, Neil swore vengeance on the tyrant and decided to help overthrow the government.

A vampire, a human(I'm guessing that is what Neil is, if I'm wrong I'm sorry) and an elf walk into a bar.

Each of them ask why the other is there and it turns out all of them want to overthrow the government bar.

A better one I think would of been...what does a human, a vampire and an elf have in common? They want to overthrow the government.

I'd know these are bad. But I'm sleep deprived and my work is horrible today.

Dw, the pun’s much appreciated ✨ I hope you’re able to get some rest dude :’^D

Non-essential question: Is there a particular soundtrack that can help immerse one within the story? For future writing purposes >.>

I think once everyone has their sheets in, I'll close the interest check. Don't wanna get to many people and then lose track of who is who xD

Personally? I've been listening to various Zelda tracks throughout the whole Zelda Series.

Haha how many were you expecting initially? :) So far it looks like there's a mix of both sides of the story, the potential future conflicts look fun. Omg I just noticed so far Sky's the youngest haha d'aww

Ooh I'll give them a listen :)

xD I did not notice that until now and honestly? I figured maybe one or two since some of the ideas I seem to have, people don't like 😅

I would give Minda's Lament and Links Memories from BOTW the subdued ceremony and Urbosas Hand for the general sadness.

I'm getting rooting for the young underdog who happens to have a lot of pressure on his shoulders, weight of the world type of thing. Will he live up to his family name and prove his worthiness for the throne or crumble beneath it? Makes me want to root for Sky. Tbh the idea provided seems pretty flexible, like there's a lot that can be added onto with the kind of prompt/goal.

Ayo where's the BOTW soundtrack been all my life? They're bangers :bishiesparklesl:

If we're going fantastical/high fantasy/kinda whimsical, the OST from the top of my head I'm imagining right now would be Hanezeve Caradhina from Made in Abyss.

For the story, are you aiming for adventures through different kingdoms or within the main kingdom? Will there be any elaboration on how the core's ritual would work and what'll it involve?

I'm planning on a massive info dump over the next few days 🙂 I'm mostly aiming for Friday since it's my day off 🤣

Excited Season 2 GIF by The Office

We stan info dumps. Looking forward to it :)

Fun Fact while you are all waiting for the my busy butt for the lore and stuff. There are few songs I listened to that birthed this idea.

Alright, Alright you vipers :P I was at work and didn't have my list in front of me. Just don't laugh at some of them xD
The First Songs that really birthed it is

As Ready as I'll Ever Be- From Tangled. Especially the Line: Now it's time to rise up or it's time to stand down. And the answer is easy to see. And I swear by the sword if you're in, get on board.
Where is the Justice?- Death Note: The Musical
History has it's Eyes on You- Hamilton: The Musical

The next few songs are just because I like them and they kind of have battle energy:
Centuries, The Phoenix, and The Last of the Real Ones by Fall out Boy
Legends Never Die by M.A.K.O., League of Legends, Against The Current
Roundtable Rival by Lindsey Stirling
Link's Memories - Blades Of The Yiga (The Legend of Zelda Breath of the Wild OST)
Wizards in Winter-Trans Siberian Orchestra
Queen of Kings by Alessandra
Warriors - Imagine Dragon

Other Songs that I like either add to the sorrow or just have a nice tune.
Minda's Lamet- The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess
Mipha's and Revail's Theme- The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild
Fi's Farewell- The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword
Link's Memories - Urbosa's Hand -The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild
