The Metropolitan Alliance

Anthem:
The Alliance's Day

Motto:
"In Unity We Stand"

Population:
6,987

Government Type:
Federal Republic, Indirect Democracy

Current Leader:
President. Louis Terrifian

Capital:
San Diego, CA

History:
The nation that is now known as the Metropolitian Alliance originally started out as a group of 6 tribal like nations that had all taken claim to center parts of San Diego. They were all disorganized and mostly isolationist, only interacting with one another if they accidentally crossed paths over territory expansion, sometimes breaking out into small skirmishes which left some dead though nothing ever escalated into full out war. In-fact none of these tribes had ever even spoken to one another prior to the Great Swarm, this was the name given to a particular event some many years ago where a large herd of mutated animals from what had once been Mexico had travelled into San Diego, attacking any other living being they encountered, unfortunately this also meant the humans living there. This herd had been larger than anything else ever seen beforehand, and no one group had the firepower or manpower to take them all out given the strength of the ferocious beasts, and so an emergency meeting had been called by one of the groups, the United Diego faction had sent its messengers out to relay the request of its leader; President Huertz to bring all the leaderships together to discuss how to deal with the Great Swarm, it hadn't even taken hours after that message had been sent for all the leaders to congress in the center of San Diego to discuss their new alliance.

However this hadn't been the start of the Metropolitian Alliance, this had only been a wartime alliance by all intents and purposes, it had taken a week and a half for the combined forces to fight off the Great Swarm, resulting in most of the herd being killed and a good few humans also being killed or wounded in the fighting. Though the alliance itself didn't immediately evolve into a unified nationstate, it had given the idea to the leaders that uniting under a single banner was a smart thing to do, given how powerful they realized they would be if the nations of San Diego merged into one greater nation, one which represented all the peoples of their great former city. And given the fact that the 6 nations didn't have any major ideal differences, most were democratic and if not democratic then they at least acknowledged the freedom of their people and were far from authoritarian. It had taken another five years of negoiations for the 6 leaders to come to an agreement, and thus the United Charter was born, the founding document of what was now the Metropolitian Alliance.

The first few years of the Alliance's history were rocky at best, with the different people of each former nation somewhat struggling to trust one another despite not having any previously hostile encounters with one another, of course it was far different trusting someone from a great distance than trusting them as being your next door neighbor. However the newly formed Alliance Senate, which was the new representative body of the Alliance government, representing each and every belief of their peoples had come up with a solution to this lack of united national identity. They would focus all of their propaganda efforts into how large and prosperous the Metropolitian Alliance would be once they begun expanding out of San Diego, painting the picture of a nation in the far future with millions of citizens and bright, bustling cities and comfortable living and entertainment for all, not unlike the Old World's American nation. However they made it clear that this bright future would only become a reality if the people of the Alliance were willing to work together to make it come true, the newly combined Alliance military set out on expanding Metropolitian territory, soon taking over all of San Diego and then the complete surrounding area, setting up listening posts and military outposts to ensure that their borders remained theirs and setting out to gather resources, the Alliance grew rapidly and their population is now nearing 7,000 and still growing. Electricity and running water has been restored to all of the Alliance, central heating has been set up for all citizens' homes and the once decaying and worn away streets and buildings of San Diego are now being restored to their former glory albeit slowly.

Important Laws:
The Metropolitian Alliance follows an unchanging set of base laws defined by the United Charter, the founding document of the Alliance. Similar to the Constitution of the old-world America, these laws set the moral compass of the nation and guarantee rights of the nation's citizens. The right to bear arms and freedom of speech, religion and press are the two most important of these ten laws, the other eight laws include the protection from unreasonable government intervention such as search and seizures, the rights that Precincts within the Alliance have over their own citizens and federal laws that the Alliance's main governing body delegates. The rights of those convicted of crimes, with murder, rape, paedophilia, treason and property damage exceeding 10,000 Unions being punishable by immediate execution, the Charter also clearly lines out the human rights of all those living in Alliance territory or those that migrate to the Alliance, children's and civil rights in the Alliance and the laws on what the President's powers are and what the Alliance military is authorized to do on its own without civilian government command.

Resources:
Abundant amounts of water (San Diego River, Old Mission Dam, Lake Murray, El Capitan Reservoir, Lake Hodges, Lower Otay Reservoir, Otay River)
Access to former military hardware (Camp Pendleton, Naval Base Coronado, Point Loma Naval Base, Naval Air Station North Island, NS San Diego, MCAS Miramar)
Fish available from coast, rivers and lakes, successful fishing enterprise, provides sufficient food (Pacific Ocean, San Diego Bay)
Wood from surrounding mountain ranges and former national parks (Anza-Borrego State Park, Cleveland National Forest,

Strengths:
Democratic, free nation, happy population
Abundant resources of water and wood
Volunteer, standing armed forces, access to military knowledge/equipment
Strategically defendable location, mountain ranges

Weaknesses:
Lack of food other than fish, no fertile soil surrounding
Threats from Mexican border, mutated animals pester local population
Californian drought seasons occur from time to time
Spoiled population, harder to keep content if things go wrong

Military Info:
The Alliance Military, sometimes also known as the Metropolitian Military is the standing armed forces of the Metropolitian Alliance and operates out of what was once known as Naval Base Coronado with other major garrisons including Camp Pendleton (Renamed Camp New Diego), NS San Diego and MCAS Miramar, the military is currently working on fully repairing and restoring Point Loma Naval Base and Naval Air Sation North Island. Due to the nature of the nation, the military is comprised entirely of paid volunteers with a high standard of training and equipment, the United Charter clearly outlines the seperation between the military command structure also known as Alliance Command and the civilian government of the nation. Until the threat from the former-Mexican border dies down, the government has pledged to maintain the military's personnel count at 20% of the overall population, however the military is often used for civilian projects such as infrastructure construction and utilities maintenance, ensuring that those 1,100 men and women are put to good use when not in combat.

Nation:

New Washington [NW]
Flag:
NW.PNG

Population:
6,143
Government Type:
Dictatorship
Current Leader:
President Alan Richards
Capital:
Washington, D.C
History (Minimum 3 paragraphs):
In 2098, the city of Washington was uncivilized, constantly occupied by dangerous bandits. The survivors who were unable to defend themselves banded together and created "The Union", a group of peaceful survivors who just wish to survive. Lead by a man known as Alan Richards, the Union collected other survivors in neighbouring towns and built up strength. Gathering together, they were targets for bandits but the more people they gained, the harder it was for bandits to attack them. Eventually all bandits feared the Union but remained in the city, attacking members in secret.

By 2110, the Union gained a population of 5,855. They built up an army armed with as many weapons as they could gather, and drove the bandits out of the city. There were 453 troops. 130 died, and 193 were injured. This bloody battle was known as The Battle of Washington. Many more survivors gathered to join the Union, for two reasons. One, it was one of the few places that were safe to live in. Two, the rivers by the city were safe to drink and good for watering crops. In 2111, the Union was renamed to "New Washington" [NW]. However, Alan Richards slowly became a dictator and gained complete power of the city. Whether people liked it or not, most people didn't notice too much as it slowly happened, and by the time they did it was too late. Harsh laws have been enforced in order to "ensure the safety of the citizens, keep power out of the irresponsible and continue to rebuild civilization."

Nowadays, Washington D.C is split into three sectors. First there is the Outer District, areas surrounding the lakes. This is where most factories and farms are located, occupied by workers, mostly farmers. There's the North District, where it's hard to make a living. Poverty here is high, and you're not allowed to go here unless you have orders to do so. This was actually done on purpose, because more criminals means more soldiers. Then there's the West District, a residential area where most people live here. People live in apartments and houses in these areas. The living conditions aren't that bad, but it generally depends on your wealth. Then there's the Middle District. This is where military recruiting is mainly done, and the only place you're allowed to sell anything. The Presidential Hall [The White House] is located here.

Important Laws:

--Sector One: Base Laws--

-Orders from the president are absolute and must be followed. Disobedience will not be tolerated.

-Stealing and other non-severe crimes are punishable by military service. For example, if you stole something worth 5 NWD, you serve in the military for 2 years or you pay it off by working. Murder, assault, rape, counterfeit, or any other severe crimes are punishable by death.

-You are unable to leave the city unless you have permit to do so from a high ranking military member or the president himself.

-The New Washington Dollar [NWD] is the official currency and the only legal currency within NW territory. Any other currency used falls under the category of counterfeit, which is punishable by death as said two rows above.

-Men and woman are to be treated as complete equals in any situation. No exceptions.

Resources:
Clean Water
Wheat, Tomatoes, Lettuce
Fishing
Guns
Lumber (lots of trees at the other side of the rivers)

Strengths:
+Large Military
+Well Equipped
+Fresh Water
+Safe (Except for the North)

Weaknesses:
-Rebellion from the North District could happen
-Dangerous mutants sometimes come nearby the rivers
-No electricity, they're working on it
-71% of the military is untrained

Military Info:
Troops: 2,365
They all have orange armbands. The New Washington Military Forces [NWMF] have no commanders or generals. They take orders directly from the President himself.

Nation:
Evangelion Rose

Flag:

Screen Shot 2017-05-04 at 5.32.18 PM.png

Motto (Optional):
"We are the heir bringers of a new world of economic and military propensity. We must stand firmly for what we believe in and keep the peace between every nation while providing the poor in those Nations with food and technology advancements. Today, we are still stand ahead of the other nations in both economics and military power even though we are small."

Population (max is 7,000 per city):

3, 276

Government Type:

Parliamentary Democracy

Current Leader:
Chancellor: William Serket

Capital (City you start with):
Manchester, England

History (Minimum 3 paragraphs):

Although the population is very small compared to other nations, Evangelion Flower has prospered in many ways such as having enough farms to produce enough food for hundreds of years even though they are a Parliamentary Monarchy. Their leader, William Serket, has been able to completely end poverty in the nation within few months of him entering office as the Chancellor of Evangelion Rose. William was elected Chancellor for Evangelion Rose because of how intellectual he is from knowing how to eliminate poverty to making farms that produce food faster with amazing efficiency. The goal though for Evangelion Rose is to help everyone around the world by providing enough resources to help the poor in those nations while creating an advance army to help serve as protecters/fighters for the Evangelion Rose.

Though Evangelion Rose has a very small population compared to the other Nations, they are rapidly growing due to advance technology and abundance of food and resources to help build the nation into a strong, well disciplined Nation. The population sky rocketed in 2111 from 1,897 people to 3,276 with 5 months of William entering office as Chancellor. With many people trying to join the Evangelion Rose, William had to enforce safety regulations throughout the Nation so that people can enter the Nation with ease though they are checked throughly so that no threat to the Nation can ever come close to entering the place. Today, the Nation stands as one of the top 4 power houses in the world while it is the only Nation to be respected all other Nations.

Majority of the population is eco friendly with the people riding their bikes to work. Even the Chancellor walks to his work place because he believes that the Nation should be eco friendly in every aspect of life so that the Nation will continue to grow healthy. The Chancellor has made sure that everyone living in the Nation has a well built underground bunker houses in case anything bad happens with resources that would last them for an entire year while they are in the bunker until further notice. The Nations environmentalists have developed a way to increase food production and produce food that won't spoil for the next 20 years. They also developed a way to produce fresh clean water by turning the food into liquids and filtering those liquids into clean freshwater within a matter of minutes. All of that is produced in an underground facility that is monitored by government officials who pay civilians to help them produce the food and water for the entire nation.

This is an example of a middle class house though most of the people in Evangelion Rose are high class people with very little middle class with no people lower than middle class. High class houses can hold 5 families and more while middle class houses can hold 2 families.
