years have passed since the 74th hunger games. despite making history by having two victors, nothing has changed since then. due to the special nature of the ending of the 74th games, the 75th games, which would have otherwise been a quarter quell, was conducted like a normal game, with no special twists.
now, twenty-five years later, the 100th hunger games is about to take place, and because it's a quarter quell, the game is going to be unlike any other.
weeks before the reaping, an announcement is made, one that requires mandatory viewing by all the districts. president sage, the elected leader after president snow passed away, stood up at a podium to give a speech:
"as a reminder of the Capitol's generosity, this year's games will allow two victors, like it did several years ago for the 74th hunger games. however, tributes will be paired at random once the reaping has taken place, and only with their assigned pair will tributes be allowed to win. should pairs die off, there will be a single victor, as it has always been."
you might think this is a good thing. maybe it increases your chances of survival, should you get reaped. but then president sage continues:
"to add to this, and to remind the people of panem that the districts brought the games upon themselves with the dark days, the reaping will be conducted a little differently: there will be no random selection. a male and a female tribute from each district must volunteer. should a decision not be made within an hour from the start of the reaping, the entire district will face punishment."
two conditions for this years games and the stakes are high for everyone involved. volunteers are rare, but now there's no more choice.
everyone needs to be prepared because as we all already know, the odds are rarely in your favour.

welcome to my first group rp! i thought of starting with something a little large scale to get to know more people and because the hunger games is easily one of my favourite fandoms to rp in. this will be conducted differently from the usual universe since it's a quarter quell, and yes, i know there must be a lot of questions, but the rules and regulations will be laid down once the characters are completed! for now, all you need to know to build your character is that they would have volunteered for the games because someone had to, so why did they?

[div class=tag]#05.[/div] each applicant is required to play two characters each, of different genders. this is so the group isn't too large scale, and so i can ensure that there are even genders. ideally, your characters should be from different districts, but i won't make this a requirement.
[div class=tag]#06.[/div] this is first come first serve! however, please keep in mind that failure to finish your character sheet by the deadline will result in your spot being given up. i don't need all roles to be filled to keep going, those that aren't taken — or those that drop out — will simply be turned into npcs. that being said, please don't apply unless you know you can commit to replying at least once a week for both of your characters! i want people who write well and go into detail and won't drop off the face of the earth with no prior word.
