  Ask anyone, they’ll say that space is the final frontier- the one place we will never fully understand or explore.
  
  Ask any marine scientist or submarine worker, they’ll disagree. The ocean is a place so unexplored, a place not yet understood, a place chock-full of horrors unknown. And it is up to you to survive all this.
  
  The year is 2043, and most of the world is underwater. The land uncovered by water is deadly to step foot on, with irradiated soil, horrifically mutated creatures, and cannibalistic scavengers. The last 2% of the world’s original population now lives in underwater cities called Arks- where the rich live like kings and everyone else is left to their own devices. Those fortunate enough to have a submarine can find easy work stealing from the rich and giving to the poor.
  
  That’s where you come in. Whether you’re running the operation or stowing away, it’s your job to stay alive and keep the boat moving. That is, unless you get caught…

  This rp is heavily inspired by Firefly and by @Ha_lfLife ’s original idea for a submarine crew on a post-apocalyptic earth.
  
  I will be giving everyone free range over their own underwater city, defining the culture there and the blended population. Feel free to go wild as far as that goes, I’m sure I’ll love whatever you come up with. Here’s a little example and where I’ll put the cities…
  
  New Nordscandia:
  
  New Nordscandia is comprised of several cultures and languages- many of them of Scandinavian origin. Swedish, Dutch, Swiss, Finnish, Ukrainian, and Norwegian refugees developed the New Nordscandian Ark beginning in 2035, when the world first began to drown. The city is comprised mostly of shantytowns and large palaces, including statues to many Norse deities and sculptures of the Ark’s six main founders: Lyaksandro Lyashenko, Linnea Blon, Jacobus Visser, Marti Brunner, Kalle Ranta, and Solveig Larsen.
  
  Much of the population lives in slums, scraping and saving every penny to survive. Their taxes are unimaginably high, fueling the lifestyle of malevolent monarchs. No one escapes unless they marry into royalty, in that case they are subjected to a life of servitude in the house they married into.

  The lovely lovely cast for this rp.
  
  CAPTAIN (1/1 Spots Taken)
  
  The person who keeps this whole thing together, the only sane person on the whole ship at times. Maybe they bought the ship, maybe it’s a relic they scavenged up. Either way, the ship is theirs and they’ll accept no complaints about it. They look out for their crew, although this lineup may drive them up the wall.
  
  FIRST MATE (0/1 Spots Taken)
  
  Should the captain ever be lost, sick, injured, or otherwise unavailable, this one’s in charge. The captain’s closest friend and confidant, they have a lot of responsibilities to take care of. They may have a second job on the ship as well as being first mate.
  
  NAVIGATOR (0/1 Spots Taken)
  
  The only one on the whole ship who knows how to work the thing. Armed with several ship manuals, a compass, and a sonar that only occasionally works, the crew would never get anywhere without this person. They also double as the pilot for the submarine.
  
  MEDIC (0/1 Spots Taken)
  
  What, you thought people wouldn’t get hurt on a smuggling ship? The medic has knowledge beyond first aid, maybe a former medical student, maybe even a runaway doctor, and they take care of the crew when any injuries occur. They may also be tasked with taking care of any passengers the ship takes on.
  
  COOK (1/1 Spots Taken)
  
  AKA the only real hero on the ship. They keep the crew fed and happy, rarely stepping foot outside the ship. No one really knows their story, they just know the food they make is incredible.
  
  ENGINEERS (2/2 Spots Taken)
  
  The heart of the ship. These two keep everything moving in tip-top shape, working as a unit to make sure the sub doesn’t sink. They are vastly important to the crew, as they’re the ones who keep the sub in working order.
  
  STOWAWAYS (2/3 Spots Taken)
  
  By chance or forced by circumstance, these three have made it onto the ship. They’re on the run from something- their fate as a future monarchs, their vengeful family, even gambling debts. One thing’s for certain: they aren’t very welcome on the ship.

  Howdy there, just a few rules to keep the ship running.
  
  1. This will be a mature roleplay. I don’t do age requirements, but if you are uncomfortable with dark themes (ex: death, light gore, mentions of pseudo-slavery in capital cities), this roleplay definitely isn’t for you. Also, definitely don’t join if you have thalassophobia! I’ll be using a lot of ocean images and the rp is set in the ocean!
  
  2. While I am allowing your creative freedom to run wild for the cities, you may have to collaborate with me or another player if our characters come from the same underwater city, and I would ask that you’re polite and show the same courtesy that you’re given.
  
  3. If I veto a decision, there is no 2/3 player overrule. My say is final, my word is law. If you have complaints or problems with another player, please DM me and we will work it out.
  
  4. If you see someone being left out, or someone doesn’t have a lot of plots, go chat with them! Rping is supposed to be fun and engaging for all parties involved.
