Terra-Magna Academy [Location: Mars]

Ayla hummed along with the music playing in the background as she walked around her workshop and classroom. Today was the day the new cadets were coming in and she was rather excited. New minds to instill the knowledge and love she felt towards machines. At the moment, she was working on a few of the vehicles used by the Infantry Instructors here at TMA. A small jeep and a large truck.

She went over to her workbench and picked up the holographic clipboard where all the issues with the vehicles were listed out and read through it as she walked to the garage where the two vehicles were parked.

Faulty power source in the truck....Replace a wheel on the jeep....Ha! Easy stuff

She put the clipboard to the side as she reached over and pulled her rolling toolbox along side as she approached the jeep which was parked on a jack. She pressed a button on a remote that was hanging from the ceiling and slowly but surely, the jeep was raised up into the air just enough so that the wheels weren't touching the ground. She took out a few tools, then set to work with removing the wheel from the 4x4.

There were voices, lots of them. Lots of yelling. Lots of crying. The difference was big enough to just hear it. An explosion shook young Private Adams from his daze, he was against the wall

in a dimly lit corridor. His mouth was in pain and flashes of red interrupted his vision each time it attempted to adjust. He couldn't breath. He needed air.

"Go! Go! Go!" A voice yelled as footsteps approached. There were a lot, and Adams' head hurt too much to count. Luckily he didn't have to. A group of soldiers rushed through the corridor, passing in front of the half dead Private's eyes. Did they know what they were up against? He had to tell them!

"No stop- Wait..." Adams voice didn't come when he attempted to speak, he knew was he was trying to say. Why wouldn't the words come out right. What the fuck was going on?!

His eyes looked down to observe his condition. The pale red light allowed him to barely see what was his affliction. On his shirt he could see blood stains, typical. He eyed his right hand, it was still there; he tried moving his fingers, it worked. He tried raising his arm and pain shot through his body. Adams attempted to clench his jaw to fight the pain. But... he couldn't. Adams sobbed as he desperately tried over and over to move his jaw.

"Jesus Christ... look at the poor fucker" A pair of soldiers had showed up. One kept their gun raised as the other kneeled beside Adams. He had a long scratch on his helmet, the one with a raised gun had a ripped chest piece.

"Help... Me..." The words strained their way out, they almost unintelligible. The kneeling soldier pressed a button on the side of his helmet, revealing his face. It was burly, his brow big, bushy. His jaw was wide and his nose was too.

"There's not much I can do when you're a torso." The burly, bushy-browed soldier croaked meekly. Adams looked down once again, only not noticing that he had no lower half any longer. He tried to speak, more anxiously this time. Blood spewed from Adams' mouth landing on the man's face, but it didn't matter anymore. Adams' vision started to go black, the last words he heard: "You won't be able to speak if you don't have a jaw".

Vincent found school extra tedious today. He shouldn't be here. He should be home, consoling his mother or out with the search and rescue parties looking for all the people who haven't been confirmed as killed. He rose his arm up, on his wrist was a smooth charcoal black metal band. His fingers swiped in a downward motion on the metal band, a small light flickering to life. The light projected a computer interface, on it were the faces of every missing person from the Zeta Colony attack, Admiral Mateo Grey being one of them.

His shoes crunched on the gravel path of the Academy Garden as he made his way to his first class. An image of his father being projected before his face. "I-I- Ugh..." Vincent couldn't think of what to say, how was he supposed to handle this?

Vincent's inner turmoil was cut short by the ring of a bell, an indicator that he needs to report to class. Today was the day the Ion Program opened to the public. Today was the day Vincent would once again assert that he was the top student at this school. He planned to keep it that until he graduates. His moderate walking pace soon shifted into a jog, the holograph on his wrist flickering away.

A few minutes passed and Vince stood at the academy's main courtyard its largest path connecting to the main entrance. The courtyard contained a fountain in the center and four large pieces of grass circling it, all identical with a large oak tree planted in the center of the grass. The fountain was an elaborate restoration of the Cherry Hill Fountain, from the historic Central Park. Vincent was out of his school uniform and his smirk was visible, he was practically a celebrity and he knew it. He was just waiting on the kids to come flooding to him.

Athena Mayve Sivauski

"No, I know that!", Athena spoke loudly to Adrihel through the screen in her eyes as she walked through the main entrance, his hologram walking beside her. Obviously, she was the only one who could see him, and his voice came through her boxy headpiece, and she herself was speaking to him through them too. But still, it was as if he was there with her.

"Yes, but I really will miss you, Thee..."

"I will too, Adree... I have to go now, although I have no idea where I'm going or what's happening.", Adrihel chuckled, before they hung up, already having plans to speak again in the evening. It would be odd not spending ever moment with him, but she really needed this. Both her and Adrihel were polyamorous, and in a completely open relationship, and nobody thought they'd get engaged. But they did, and even then they maintained their open status, it was odd and progressive, which Athena was rather peeved about, but both were completely happy with it. It was rather complicated, but they were happy.

Pulling her headphones down onto her neck, her hair pulled up so her unusual ears were on show. She approached what she assumed was the main courtyard, and cursed herself for not reading any of the information booklets or anything.

This takes 'going in blind' to a whole other level... Now what do I do?!?

She lingered near the large tree, with a bemused expression on her face. Annoyed with herself for the hindrance she had brought upon herself, she guessed it would be best to ask someone for help. She looked around, and spotted someone who looked like they knew what they were doing... He actually looked a little smug for some reason, but she wasn't one to question how people looked. Hell, she tended to look crazy enough as it was, even without looking like she was talking to herself when on the phone with Adrihel. It wasn't like her implants were very common... Although she couldn't imagine life without their convenience. She imagined the reason not many people had them is that there were a few risks involved with getting them in, and they were notoriously difficult to operate, although she found it easy.

Sighing, she approached the smug looking boy. "Hi! Sorry to be a pain, but could tell me what I should do now? It was probably a bad idea to not read the info pack...", she chuckled, "I'm Athena Sivauski, by the way! Biotech.", she grinned warmly, and hoped this would be quick so she could hurry off to do whatever she had to be doing now.

She had to admit, this probably wasn't the best start to her new school, but she was out of practice with schedules and time constraints.

Hmmm... Now that I think about it, doesn't this guy look kinda familiar? Eh, he probably looks like one of the characters in Adree's games. She brushed away the thought, putting it down to coincidence, as she couldn't recall whom he looked like.

The brisk light of the yellow star, named Sol, creeped into Collin's room, filling the air with a warm feeling. Collin's eyes fluttered open and he took a deep breath through his nose, and held it in for a few seconds, and then exhaled. Being on Mars was completely different then Earth, and this wasn't the first time Collin's been on Mars either. It's just, every time Collin comes back to Mars he feels like he's missing something back on Earth. Collin had slept in simple gray sweatpants, which had a similar texture to sheep wool. His sleep in its entirety, however, was quite relaxing, and helped sooth his thoughts. Still lying in bed, Collin grabbed his phone which was on his nightstand, charging. He disconnected the plug and turned his back, now lying flat on the mattress. He raised his phone to a comfortable level and went onto Twitter to check what was happening on Earth. Ten minutes had passed, and Collin was interrupted by a ringing coming from his glass wall. But it wasn't an ordinary glass wall. It was touchscreen, and was able to upload data from any device (basically a computer on a wall). Collin's legs were already over the bed and his feet were searching for his slippers. With his slippers now on his feet, Collin sprang from his bed and quickly rushed to his "Holo-wall". He unlocked it and answered the ringing that was originating from it. It was his girlfriend Sasha.

"There's my puppy!" ,Sasha yelled with a bright smile.

Collin just gave a simple smirk and stared at the wall that projected Sasha's beautiful smile and face.

"Everything alright?" ,Sasha asked.

"Yeah. Everything's fine." ,Collin smiled tiredly.

"Well I just wanted to check in on you. You're goin' to school right?" ,Sasha ran her hand through her, natural, wavy hair.

"Yeah. Yeah, I'm going today." ,Collin answered.

"Wear that shirt I love. For me?" ,Sasha gave a teasing smile.

"Sure." ,Collin smiled as he was observing his closet, looking for the shirt Sasha enjoyed.

"Have a good my love!" ,and with that Sasha shot a kiss to the camera and ended the call.

Collin had planned his outfit and was ready to get to school. He double checked his back pack, making sure he had what he needed, and left his room, making sure to lock the door. Now that he was out of his room, Collin began his walk to school.

Right then, all fixed

Ayla stood up, huffing out as she smiled, placing her hands on her hips. The two vehicles that were sent for repair were now finished. The was a new wheel on the jeep and the truck had its fuel system completely re-done. She went over to where the clipboard was and checked off all the issues that was fixed, signing the document and marking the box "Complete". The report disappeared and now all she had to do was wait for someone to come pick the bloody things up.

Ayla walked into the classroom that she had. Unlike the traditional classrooms with desks in perfect rows, she had her classroom set up there were tables just all over the place with two chairs at each table. There was equipment on the counters lining the walls of the room. It was like a science room almost.

She heard the bell rang and smiled. She looked down at her wrist where a small metal hand was around her left wrist, She waved her hand over it and it projected the list of junior cadets

Ah, so your son is here....

The last name "Grey" was easily recognizable. The photo resemblance was recognizable as well. Mateo Grey's son was finally going through the Ion Program. She closed the list, stretching

Right then, time for class

"Biotech? Are you sure you're not what they're working on?" Vince asked rudely with a slight laugh as he sized up the girl. She was attractive, and modded. It was a weird combination but he thought it was cool. Vincent smiled slightly and brought his wrist-com up, he activated it by swiping down on the metal. The holographic screen coming up. He quickly brought up a map of the school and showed it to the new girl.

Vincent pointed to the courtyard, "Okay so you're here newbie..." his finger pointed to a building north-west of their current location, "This is where you wanna be. If you need help with anything else, come find me." And with that Vince gave the girl a slight salute, taking his leave. It was time for him to get to class, he couldn't stay helping all the new kids.

He made his exit, pushing through the crowd of lost students, heading north. A few hands would grab at his jacket, but they were easily dismissible. If Vince had remembered correctly, the room he was supposed to be was somewhere located in the north eastern portion of the campus. 'Building Twenty-Three?' he thought to himself as he broke into a jog. He smirked as he thought of a fun way to test himself. His feet would hit the concrete rhythmically as he continued on his straight path. Building twenty-three was pretty far from the Fountain, but Vince knew a short-cut. He made a quick right and ran into the cafeteria, which was located central of the entire school just behind the Fountain. He didn't have time to cut around the tables so he jumped over them. Luckily not a lot of students were eating at this time, so Vince didn't have to worry about planting his hands in someone's food when he vaulted over the many tables. A random girl opened the door to leave and Vincent raced passed her, he was almost there.

Vince came through the classroom door and panted lightly as he spotted the comparatively short female Mechanic in his midst. As a junior, he was assigned to a classroom as a student aid. The catch was that a student was not able to be an aide within the branch they are assigned. This was to have them learn about the other branches and to better to teach good leading skills.

"Am I late Ma'am?" Vince asked as he walked towards the front of the classroom. It was obvious he didn't really care, he was here now and that's what mattered. He made his way to the teachers desk and sat in her chair.

Better late then never.

Akira looked over to Vincent who had arrived. She was only informed last night that he was going to be her student aid, though personally, she thought she didnt need one. In the long run though, it was best just to agree with the fact she was getting one. As Vincent had came in, she was just setting up today's lesson.

Vincent, do me a favor and make sure all the models are working? Thanks love

On each of the desks, there was a small model representing a fusion core engine. Just a small activity. Tomorrow, all the big stuff was going to happen. While Vincent was doing that, she tapped on the empty plain wall that was at the front of the classroom. It came to life as a login screen was displayed and a holographic keyboard was projected. Akira quickly entered her credentials, signing on into the system, then left it be for now as she simply waited for her first class to come into the room

Athena grinned mischievously at his comment. It looked like him and Adrihel had the same sense of humour. She inspected the map, committing it to memory, and nodded. "Thanks! I-", before she could finish, he was off.

She blinked, Well then... He looks in a hurry...

Walking quicker than she had before, she hurried towards the building he had directed her to, still looking around the area with interest.

Noticing she was walking in the same direction as... Oh, he didn't tell me his name... And she wondered whether they'd be in the same class. She reached the building, and the door she guessed was the right one.

Taking a deep breath, Athena walked in, and wasn't surprised to see the guy again. Looked like she had engineering first, which she was elated about. She faced the teacher, "Hi! I'm Athena Mayve Sivauski, I believe I have a class here?", she gave the teacher a happy smile.

If she did have what she believed, engineering, she was going to have a great lesson. Sure, she would find the lesson easy, as she was pretty advanced even if she wasn't actually specialising in it, but this was her long time hobby, and maybe she'd even get the chance to ask the teacher for some tips or advice. Perhaps she could even manage to get advice on her suit. She was constantly working on it, even though it was technically finished, there was always more she could add or tinker with. And she hoped she'd get a chance to bring it to one of the lessons. Hell, it had taken her a lot of pushing and persuasion to even be able to take it and some of her other projects with her.

Ayla glanced over as she heard the new voice. She noticed the girl walking in. Upon hearing her name, a green light appeared at one of the seats, indicating her assigned seat. It was in the front and middle. Ayla looked over and smiled, looking back to the girl named Athena

Seems that you do love. Welcome to engineering. Just have a seat while we wait for the other to come in

She smiled some more, then went into the workshop to check to see if Infantry had retrieved their vehicles. She didnt see the truck or the 4x4, so she assumed yes, and walked back into the classroom. She went over to her other desk in the front and activated its projector, projecting the same fusion engine model that was on all the other desks and began to play around with it as she waited for the rest of the class to turn up. She knew there had to be more people, but on the first day like this, it was expected for people to be lost

Breathing a sigh of relief, Athena went over to her seat and sat down, eager for the lesson to start. She turned round to the boy, "Hi again! Thanks for the direction earlier, umm...", she chuckled, "I don't think you told me your name?". Just then, the teacher came back, and as the class was empty save for the three of them, Athena seized her chance. She didn't want to look like she was bragging or anything in front of anyone...

"Ms, I actually have a question... Would you.. Uh. Would you consider helping me out with a, well, I guess it's armour or a partial mech suit.", she twiddled her thumbs, a bit nervous as to what the teacher would say. "It's already technically finished, but I'm always adding and improving things... And I thought maybe I could use your expert advise?", she grabbed her bag which she had dumped at her feet when she sat down, and pulled out a tablet, and quickly brought up some pictures and blueprints, all quite technical stuff covered in her spidery handwriting.

Ayla glanced over to Athena, who was nervous when she was asking for help from her. But, instead of rejecting her, Ayla just smiled and took the tablet from her, looking at the blueprints.

Impressive...Wow, and you designed this all by yourself?

Ayla was already liking Athena. She smiled, setting the tablet down

Of course I'll help you out dear. I guess you and I have more in common then we both thought

She let out a small chuckle, then noticed as a flood of people entered her room. It seems as though people have finally found out there they needed to be. Ayla leaned down, whispering to Athena

I'll be here after school. Just come down and visit whenever you can love

Ayla handed Athena the tablet back, then ushered her back to her seat as she smiled, clapping her hands together and spread them back out

Welcome to Engineering loves! I'm your instructor, Ms. Syko, but you can just call me Syko.

She beamed as she began her lesson, first going through what to expect in the Engineering department

 :: Andrina Welsh ::

The first day was always glorified. Bright property, bright lights, clear skies. It still didn't change the fact that the students were on Mars. The very same planet where a military base was attacked and destroyed by foreign invaders. Yet, no one seemed the least bit concerned about where they were. Only the fact that they were there! The Ion Program! How marvelous. Andrina, however, was having other thoughts about where she was. Her fingers fiddled with the zipper of her jacket, the pocket of her pants, the watch on her wrist. Despite their best efforts, the engineer's hands couldn't seem to get her mind off the prospect of the academy being attacked as well. If a military base could be taken that easily, a handful of cadets in training would be wiped off the face of this hunk of rock.

Attempting to push the thoughts of total annihilation away, Adri focused on the scenes in front of her. The perfectly cut grass, the neatly planted trees, the quiet sounds of chatter around her. All too precise and all too welcoming. She had learned to be suspicious, to expect the unexpected, but maybe her mind was just digging too far into this. There was a point in time where she would have to trust this. Even though her mind was yelling at her to turn back, Adri continued forward. What did she have to lose? It's not like she cared about anything but herself.

Adri glanced at her holo-watch, the blue display popping up and showing her the schedule that she had received a couple hours before. Engineering was first. Hopefully she wasn't with anyone too bad. There were few things that could ruin her passion. The class was definitely one thing to look forward to. Adri straightened her brown vest and walked up the steps, eyes examining the sleek building. The architects who had constructed the thing knew what they were doing, that was for sure. She kept her eyes from the few students around her, and calmly walked to her class.

* * *

It was the voice of the devil that made Andrina's day turn to dust. She could hear him from down the hall, and she knew that with just her luck, they had the same first period together. As she turned the corner into the room, she spotted him right away. Vincent Mateo Grey. Though she didn't show it on the outside, her rage boiled up on the inside. It seemed that no matter what, the little prick did everything his power to annoy the shit out of her. Or maybe it was just her, not being able to handle her emotions.

Nope. It was definitely him.

The air about Vincent seemed to radiate with his arrogance, his cockiness, his overall love for himself. He needed to get over himself. Seriously, what was with him?

Andrina shook her head, brushing the anger out of herself and stepping into the classroom. If she wanted to be successful, she would have to push this past her. He hadn't even said anything to her and Adri was already worked up. This would NOT work. When she had the chance, Adri would have to be the bigger person and make it up to him. For now, she would sit and wait for her class to begin. Easy peasy.

Andrina sat at a desk near the middle of the class, directing her attention to her tablet and pretending to be invested in something on the screen.

VINCENT MATEO GREY

As Vincent checked on the fusion models, he was greeted by a familiar voice. He didn't catch what she said at first but he caught the sentence she said after. His mouth opened to reply to her as he turned and attempted leaning on the table, but she was already gone talking to the teacher. The more Vincent listened, the more he liked her voice, the way she seemed eager to learn. It was heartwarming, such naivety. It was... cute.

Out of the corner of his eye he noticed a face that he had grown to hate. Andrina. His stomach churned and his face grew into a scowl. There were a lot of reasons he didn't like her, she always thought she was better than he was. It was definitely the other way around. He turned his body toward her, his face smug with a very obvious mocking smile. He nodded his head towards Athena. "She's a beauty isn't she? Bonita. Tres Jolis." Vince said referring to the other student in the room in Spanish and French respectively. Vince had always found it fun to mess with who he arguably considered his rival. Andrina was a tough cookie to break, Vincent respected that about her. That was about it though, otherwise the young man always found a way to remind her that he is ranked highest on the student scoreboard or something of the sort.

Vince didn't bother to wait for an answer she seemed busy anyway and he was here to do a job, might as well stick with that. Then again, it was a boring job. He groaned loudly with boredom and walked over to the teacher's desk, sitting in the chair once more. Syko began to teach the class finally as he noticeably ignored the lessons. His eyes were glued to the image he had brought up on his wrist-com. It was a picture of his father that he had took during one of their father-son outings.

"MATEO! IF HE COMES BACK WITH EVEN A SCRATCH ON HIS HEAD-" Vince's mother, Linda, had yelled to his father. He looked back between the two and genuinely questioned how they even ended up together in the first place. Of course he knew the story, his father had been injured in the line of duty but refused to let up and the person who had saved him was his mother. It was poetic in a sense, everyone's 'savior' finding love with the woman who saved them. Legend has it, Linda had always had a crush on Mateo. But the man was too blind to notice.

"You worry to much Valentine" He still called her by her maiden name "Our son will be fine, he's the son of an Admiral after all.", Mateo would finish with an egotistical smile on his face. It earned him a nice slap across the back of his head from his wife.

"Sorry honey, I was just emptying all the hot air from that big head of yours." Linda grinned as her husband laughed and Vince sat on in awkward bemusement. He adored them. He secretly aspired to find a love like that with someone. Maybe with the kid of his father's long-time friend, Omarov. What was her name? Gaziza? He had met her a few times, didn't even realize he was attending school with her. He's a grade above her.

****

His father carried the most of the haul, they had just finished up their fishing session. Mateo had caught the least amount of fish but was still carrying more than his son. Vince on the other hand was distracted entirely, aimlessly following his father as he thought about the upcoming school year. His mind still on the same subject as when he left

Rosie was sitting in the cafeteria at a table, her helmet placed on the left of her and the black backpack thrown underneath out of the way under the bright white table. The notebook was out as she scribbled and wrote in it. An old school way of keeping information. It was rare that people used notebooks or even kept them but Rosie was old school. She sometimes preferred paper based information over technological but it didn't stop her from using every single possible gadget in her backpack. Sighing, she looked at her watch, now realising that she was going to be late "Oh shit..." She muttered, pulling her backpack from under the table, throwing the notebook and pencil into it. Not caring that she might accidental stab herself later when reaching back into the backpack. Slinging it around her right arm, she grabbed her helmet and pushed through the door. At this point a male, whom was running passed right by her "You're bloody welcome!" She yelled at him but he didn't appear to react in anyway to her.

She made it to class, muttering to herself "Right building, right class?" The idea of getting everything wrong made her that more nervous which she hated to be. She hated it when everyone looked at her. Well you can't really blame them right? You're wearing a helmet She thought to herself, walking in and staring around the classroom. She appeared to be a bit late, apologising to the teacher whom's name she read in the info pack to be Syko, a Head Mechanic. Her eyes quickly settled on the boy sitting in the chair next to the teacher Huh, it's him. No wonder he was running. Probably a teachers pet. Taking a seat, she placed her backpack underneath the table and proceeding to take off the lightweight helmet and placing it next to her, this time on her right side instead of the left and began to listen intently.

Athena nodded, relieved that she could have someone's help, and a teacher no less! She really had missed school, but taking a year out to build this was probably the best thing she had ever done, and her trip to Neo-Tokyo was amazing, to say the least. As she was talking with the teacher, she heard that guy (she really needed to find out his name) mention someone. In English, French, and what she assumed was Spanish by the sound of it. She was looking in the opposite direction, but she wondered who in the class he was referring to. She guessed it was one of the students who had just walked in.

Deciding not to dwell on who though who was pretty, Athena listened intently to the class that had now begun, even if she knew exactly what Ms. Syko was on about, she tried not to show it. She was really looking forward to after school now, even if she did have to haul both versions of her suit here. Maybe she could get someone to help...

Capt. Nursultan Omarov

USE Marine Corps, Marine Special Operations

Terra-Magna Academy, Senior Staff

[Terra-Magna Academy]

As Omarov gave a quick glance to a holographic projection of the academy and cleared his throat audibly, he directed to said projection pointing out various locations on it whilst he used the other hand to point towards individuals as he called out the respective names of his subordinate commissioned officers and non-commissioned officers, soon though he was without people to direct as they had began to file out of the room off to fulfil their duties in discretely increasing the military presence around the academy.

With a short huff and an quiet sigh he sat back in his chair, smoothing out his uniform slightly and straightening himself out before taking a holocall from command off of hold, it was a rather odd thing for one to do, keep high command waiting. "My apologies, Admiral. Now back to what I was saying, It'd be greatly appreciated if we could also receive an additional detachment of special operations, given the recent incidents I feel as if their presences here in, even if it is in a QRF capacity, could be critical." he stated rather flatly as he gradually leaned closer to the screen. The Captain nodded in understanding of the flag officer's words and stood once the communication had ended, they would receive the additional manpower but it was best kept out of public eye to keep further rumours from spreading. It was relieving to know that his concerns were being taken seriously, 'They might as well stick half the damned home fleet overhead.' he thought to himself with a brief laugh.

---

It hadn't been an hour since he had given out his commands and assignments, and he had already seen a change, he came across more combat ready four man patrols as he walked the grounds, though most students unless they had known the full guards rotation, patrol routes and times between patrols wouldn't really notice the change, the patrols paid him no mind as they passed. Eventually the captain made his way over to one of the educating buildings and found very few students still stalking the halls, those who he did received a quick talking to and were on their way. He stepped into a class, making no bother to announce himself, the cadets who had seen him automatically straightened out and fell silent, those who hadn't initially soon caught on and followed suit, the sight of a stoic looking man with more combat, operations and campaign ribbons on their chest than most people they had seen often did that.

He moved through eying the classroom with furrowed brows as he took note of how many cadets lacked their uniforms, clasping both hands at his lower back as he strode over to Syko with a look of displeasure on his face "Lieutenant, would you mind giving an explanation as to why the majority of your class is out of uniform?" he asked, though by the way he had almost instantly turned and faced said class it was obvious he hadn't been looking for an answer "This isn't a youth centre and you will not treat it as such." he started, walking through the randomly placed tables, bringing a hand from his back and directing it at them in a sort of knife "This is a military institution with standards and a reputation to uphold, if you can't keep to those standards you don't belong here and you won't stay here. You're off to a bad start and your peers will be glad to know that there will be points deducted from your year group as a whole, get it into your heads quickly and inform your fellows because I'll deduct more if I see another cadet out of uniform." he stated firmly, soon moving off from where he had stood and returning to the side of Syko with his arms folded.

Give them a break Omarov. Its only the first day. I'm not teaching them how to shoot a bloody gun. This is a learning environment, not a damn battlefield

While she didnt have much feelings towards the Captain, it annoyed Ayla ever so slightly that he was trying to instill such a uniform atmosphere when really, the kids were trying to learn.

Sighing, she turned her attention back to the class

Alright boys and girls, go ahead and enlarge the fusion engine models on your desk. Simply stretch it with your fingers

To show what she ment, Ayla took her fingers, placing it at the corners of the small model and spread her fingers apart. The holographic model expanded to a larger scale. Ayla then turned to the wall behind her and tapped it. A list of parts appeared with a picture of each part and its description

With your table partner, see if you can locate as many parts as you can that are listed here. If you need help, I'll be trotting around. You can also ask Vincent over there. He's my student aid for the semester. Alright, get to it!

She left the front desk, watching al the students as they worked on the activity, walking up and down the many desks that were in the room.

Athena's eye twitched a little as the whole class was lectured, although she was careful to keep her face down turned, respectful and humble to the dick in uniform who obviously had no chill. She really disliked people like this, and it was hard enough to keep that distaste off her face, but she managed it quite well.

Decidedly ignoring the... Whatever his rank was, Athena turned her full attention back to Syko, and quickly brought up the model, familiar with the technology, and quickly got to work. After introducing herself to her partner, she quickly scanned the list on the wall, and located the parts as she went. Celia had already taught her about the fusion engine, and she had worked with one very briefly when her, Celia and Adrihel went on a cool trip to Iceland. She finished quickly, her table partner looking grateful that she'd done all the work, but Athena tried not to draw attention to the fact that she had finished, and just sort of sat and looked at her model, with all the parts accurately located, not sure what else to do.

:: Andrina Welsh ::

As Andrina sat at her desk, trying not to draw too much attention to herself, she kept peeking up at Vincent to see his expressions. It was the same cocky, asshole Vince that sat in the teacher's chair. The same one she couldn't stand. He seemed to find ways to remind Adri of how much better he was than her. Combat, leadership, social skills. Even his life was better, he had a loving dad and a mother that was, at the very least, alive. Adri, on the other hand, had next to nothing in her name, her family, her friends. Her life was the exact opposite of the Vincent-show. And though the facts didn't seem to bother her, it was the very thought of him making fun of her for it that got her stomach sick. Why would anyone find pleasure in making fun of her misfortune?

Adri shook her head. No use in having a pity party. She glanced up when Vince finally addressed her, making a comment about another girl in the class. "Doesn't look like she's into you. Don't blame her." Adri fired back, glancing back down at her screen and disregarding what Vince might've said next.

As the class began, the teacher started simple. Adjusting and studying diagrams. Adri looked and felt bored, halfheartedly following the teacher's instructions. It would take a long time before they got into the good stuff, and Adri knew that. Still, it didn't change the way she felt in that moment. As she looked around the class, a large male walked through the door, immediately confronting the teacher about the student's attire. She looked down at her own vest, not really taking concern to the thought. It was only the first day, the kids should have a bit of leeway.

The man automatically, however, brought on an intimidating personality into the classroom. Adri figured he was a soldier, and her thoughts were only supported by the badges he wore on his uniform. Most likely the combat teacher, by the looks of it.

VINCENT MATEO GREY

________________________________________

Vincent's attention turned when he heard the familiar voice of Captain Omarov speak. He didn't acknowledge what the man had said, considering he was preoccupied. Vincent placed his boots on the teacher's desk and leaned back into the seat, going over old simulation footage. As an Officer Cadet, he was given the privilege of leading a squad who recently kicked him out the last time he had sacrificed the mission during a simulation. It was a virtual child, and he shouldn't have been in the simulation at all. It seemed like he was planted just to mess with Vince.

Anyways now he was in charge of FoxTrot, which currently had no other members. His grey eyes found the class and he looked back towards the Captain. Vince's attention was caught by Athena being done with her assignment already. He smirked and got up from his reclined position. He walked over to the girl and leaned down a bit.

"I hope you don't have a problem with Captain Omarov." Vince had whispered quietly to her as he glimpsed over at him. He grinned a bit and pulled away, looking at the completed model. He raised an eyebrow and stood up straight.

He brought up his wrist-com that he had connected to Syko's grade reports, marking Athena and her table partner finished. He also marked her name down for something separate that he made sure she didn't see. With that done, Vince went about helping other students with their work. He knew nothing about engineering but it didn't seem that hard of an assignment, just match the thingies. He came across a girl, noticing beside her was a helmet. It intrigued Vince, he peeked at her name on the assignment and mentally marked it down. He would need to talk to her soon

Vincent saw that since no one else needed any help that he would take his leave. His left hand on his shoulder as he rolled it. He passed Andrina on the way out, teasing her in a whisper, "Don't be so jealous Andrina. It'll put wrinkles on that pretty face of yours". Vince laughed quietly to himself as he continued to leave, he decided that he could probably get some training sessions in. That is if he wasn't stopped from leaving.

Athena pursed her lips, trying to keep a straight face. The mischievous glint in her eyes shone through, so even though she said nothing, her answer was obvious. She watched him mark her as done, and noticed he did something else... He had lingered too long for him to just be marking her as done. She rose an eyebrow questioningly, but he was off before she could ask anything.

So the intruders name was Captain Omarov... She would have to make sure to keep an act up around him, he didn't look like he would take kindly to humour, or anything not under what he considered as acceptable.

Still facing forwards, she saw... Damn it! I still don't know his name... Anyway, she saw him making his escape. Considering the Omarov guy was still here, Athena couldn't wait for the outcome of this, so she turned her head slightly, fighting to keep the sly grin off her face, and watched what she thought might become a scene.

Rosie didn't like to be lectured in this way. It made her feel like she was being singled out from the rest of class even though logic dictated other wise. The man, who's tolerance appeared to have dropped altogether, had an aura around him that you shouldn't really attempt to argue with him nor pick a fight with him. She managed to keep a face which showed concern to the problem and respect towards the decorated individual. After his speech, which she felt that the majority of the class didn't take too well, she concentrated on what Syko said. Even though her mother was a mechanic and that she taught her quite a bit before she left, she had no clue how to pinpoint all of the parts of said fusion engine model including her partner. Looking around, she spotted a couple who had apparently completed their exercise. At which point she realised that something could save her from this small hiccup. The trusty notebook.

Pulling the notebook out, she quickly flipped through to heavily described pages which was a bit tedious to find what she wanted to look for, she thought about getting the pages numbered or named just to make it easier. After about a minute or so of flipping, she found the information she needed accompanied by a drawing of the model. Carefully studying the information by slowly reading down the page, she picked out the components that Syko wanted to see. After checking and double checking to make sure everything was selected, she closed up her notebook at which point she noticed the boy peering over towards her, whom now she knew as Vincent, probably either checking on what she was doing or he was looking at the helmet. Logic suggested that it was more likely the helmet he was interested in, since that stood out more than her ability to correctly pick out the components needed. She also noted that the man, now known as Captain Omarov, was deciding to hang around just that little longer while Vincent was making his escape somewhere else after whispering something in a girls ear. Nothing else could be decoded from it.

Ayla smiled as she saw that everyone was slowly, but surely, finding the parts that were listed out. She raised her wrist up, her metal band projecting the list of students and began to mark the rest of them off. It didnt bother her much that Vincent was taking his leave. Nothing really bothered her.

For those of you that are done, I have a challenge for you! Those that are still on the fusion engine, keep at it!

She pointed to the front of the room. The list of fusion engine parts moved off to the side as a new list appeared. One the desks of students that had completed the fusion engine activity, a new model appeared. This time, it was a model of a space-ship. There was some information on the side along with it. An E-Class transport frigate.

See if you can find all the parts from the list in that ship! Its going to be a right one since everything is so small, yes? On the contrary. Watch

To demonstrate, she went up to the model that was projected on Athena's desk and simply tapped it. The model suddenly exploded, exposing all the internal systems and literally separate the ship into individual pieces and sections

You can blow the model up to really get a good look at it!

She went back to pacing around the desks as she watched the students work. Glancing at the time, she noticed that the class would be ending soon. If they were going to go with Omarov, she might tag along

Athena grinned, now this was more like it! Nodding eagerly as her model was blown up (this was one of her favourite things to do with her projects, nitpicking them), and began to efficiently rummage through the ship parts, what attention she had been paying to the door now solely focused on her new task. Again, she was done quickly, and to pass the time messed around with some of the other components of the ship, picking them down to their screws.

Even if it was off task, Athena began to rearrange the parts she had picked to the bone, turning them into entirely new things. Making both functioning and more sculpt like machinery from what used to be a ship, but was now a variety of different things, completely different from the original ship, although she set aside all the parts Syko had asked for, making the teachers job a lot easier. Making things out of other things was her specialty, this was her element, and she was thoroughly enjoying moulding all the virtual bits together.

This is the sort of stuff she made! (As a rough guide)
