-Urenbeck Catapult-

The Urenbeck Catapult is a method of transportation in Zone of the Enders. It operates through Metatron, and works by compressing spacetime around an object then allowing it to return to its former state. The resulting reactive force propels the object at near light speed, allowing for easy and incredibly quick travel through the solar system. Urenbeck Catapult is the name of both a machine designed to perform this action as well as the process itself. The same principle is at work with the Zero Shift program, though at a smaller and shorter scale.

Urenbeck Catapults once required tremendous energy to operate, preventing them from being used commercially. However, advancements in technology have allowed power sources to be more efficient, and hence, Urenbeck Catapults are common enough for commercial as well as military use.

-Zero Shift-

The Zero Shift program is an incredibly advanced system that allows the use of the Urenbeck Catapult by certain Orbital Frames. It allows the frame to move at incredibly fast rates, seemingly teleporting around the battlefield, allowing it a terrifying degree of combat performance. Indeed, a single frame with Zero Shift is nigh invincible, capable of defeating any and all adversaries. The program has only been installed on the most sophisticated and technologically advanced Orbital Frames that are built beyond all others. The only known frames to have been compatible with Zero Shift were Jehuty and Anubis, though only Anubis received it at first, resulting in Anubis being unbeatable by Jehuty, even though the frames performance-wise were equal. Jehuty eventually obtained the program at a later time, allowing the frame to properly fight and defeat Anubis. The Orbital Frame Isis was able to recreate Zero Shift in concept through the Vector Trap, allowing the entire frame to disappear and then reappear at the same spot. Though the principles are the same, it is not the same as a true Urenbeck Catapult. After Anubis's destruction, Jehuty remained the only Orbital Frame in existence capable of Zero Shift.

The next two frames built that are compatible with Zero Shift are the Orbital Frames Tsukuyomi and Amaterasu. Though without the Zero Shift program in its entirety, with only what could be salvaged from Anubis and DELPHI, Neo BAHRAM were forced to repair the code manually, a painstaking process that progressed at an incredibly slow rate due to the complexity of the system. The two frames did not receive the Zero Shift program before Tsukuyomi was stolen and Amaterasu was sortied.

-IMPULSE-

The IMPULSE system was a program installed into ARAI and SERA, the battle AI of Tsukuyomi and Amaterasu respectively. The system allowed for a direct connection to DELPHI, the battle AI of Anubis, and allowed the frame to be controlled by DELPHI through the AI and the runner. The system was never tested properly, since DELPHI could not be activated after Anubis's destruction, despite Neo BAHRAM's best efforts. However, during its second battle with Amaterasu, Tsukuyomi activated IMPULSE, resulting in DELPHI being brought back online for the duration of the event. While active, Metatron output was increased exponentially, cycled through the frame and the runner, DELPHI taking temporary control of the frame, the frame's Metatron lines glowing yellow. While under DELPHI's influence, Tsukuyomi exhibited a battle frenzy, the frame acting on its own accord and easily defeating its sister frame, at the same time wiping out an entire fleet of Neo BAHRAM warships before nearly completely destroying Orbital Frame Eclipse as well. The system bears a heavy toll on the runner, however, as the increased Metatron exposure results in a rapid degradation of mental and physical stability. Tsukuyomi's IMPULSE was ended prematurely due to Ren Silber being unable to handle the massive amounts of Metatron being cycled through his body, resulting in the IMPULSE becoming unstable and being broken, ARAI regaining control of the frame and DELPHI once again going offline.

It is unknown exactly how Tsukuyomi activated IMPULSE, as the system itself is buried into the sub-programming of the battle AI, and the AI itself is unaware of its existence, though it is suspected that it was purely reactionary to the situation it was in.

It seems that the IMPULSE system is highly attuned to the emotions of the pilot themselves, as the system was activated a second time with Tsukuyomi after Ren had been forced to kill for the first time. In his grief, the IMPULSE activated, and the frame began acting erratically, but not in a frenzy like the first instance. Tsukuyomi itself seemed to mimic Ren, crying out in suffering just as he felt. However, the IMPULSE was ended this time by Alrize, who managed to pull Ren from it.

-Vector Trap-

A Vector Trap is a method of spacetime compression that allows the storage of nearly unlimited objects within a certain space, being equivocal to "Hammerspace". Orbital Frames employ this in order to store subweapons, being able to pull them out of the Vector Traps and utilize them in combat, being able to carry any and all their weapons with them by this method. Vector Traps can also be used to hide certain objects, though only Orbital Frames are able to utilize Vector Traps on their person. Vector Traps by any other means require a special system to function, usually a system of pylons or "porters" that spread a Vector Trap across an area, though these can be destroyed to release the Vector Trap. Orbital Frames are not bound by this restriction, and can utilize them freely and fully. Orbital Frames can also use Vector Traps on themselves, though this is only seen once, used by Orbital Frame Isis in its battle against its sister frame, Hathor. It used its Vector Trap against itself, disappearing and then releasing the Vector Trap to reappear in the same position, giving it the initiative it needed to defeat Hathor. This resembles Zero Shift to an extent, and although it works on the same spacetime compression principles, it is not considered a Urenbeck Catapult.

Orbital Frames are being slowly built to be less reliant on Vector Traps, instead finding it easier to incorporate subweapons on the frames themselves, even if they are still capable of producing Vector Traps. Vector Traps are now more commonly used for backup weapons in emergency situations, or to surprise an enemy with a weapon they weren't aware of, or, in the case of Tsukuyomi and Amaterasu, housing the Vector Cannon.

-Vector Cannon-

The Vector Cannon is an advanced weapon that fires a large beam of compressed space. It is among the most powerful weapons created, and is capable of destroying anything it comes into contact with, tearing them apart through spacetime compression. It is the only weapon capable of destroying otherwise impenetrable shields of compressed space, nullifying the fields and rendering them unusable. First built by the Space Force, it is a weapon compatible with Orbital Frames, utilizing the same Metatron-based properties that Orbital Frames run on. The weapon requires a charge time in order to fire, and also calls upon the weapon being firmly mounted to the ground with tethers and climbing irons in order to compensate for the massive recoil the weapon produces. The weapon is capable of being whipped around when fired, allowing it to sweep across a massive area to maximize destructive capabilities. The weapon was reverse-engineered by Neo BAHRAM using data that was acquired by old BAHRAM forces that witnessed the weapon, as well as spies within the Space Force itself, and were integrated into Tsukuyomi and Amaterasu.

-Metatron-

Metatron is an ore with special properties. First discovered on Callisto, it has allowed for significant advances in science and technology. Metatron provides limitless energy, and is therefore used to provide for humanity's growing power needs. Its most distinctive property is its ability to compress space, resulting in the advent of the Urenbeck Catapult, as well as everything else utilizing compressed space. Orbital Frames were also produced from this substance, making up the main structure as well as providing them with their limitless power source. Another property of Metatron, seen mainly on Orbital Frames, is its ability to reconstruct and repair itself. An Orbital Frame suffering battle damage is able to repair itself if provided with a source of Metatron, resulting in instantaneous repair. It is also capable of repairing itself while drawing power from another source, though anything short of pure Metatron will see the process taking a very long time.

Metatron has been shown to have adverse effects on certain people, particularly inducing insanity and a loss of physical well-being. In Colonel Nohman, through DELPHI and continuous exposure over a few years, it resulted in his loss of sanity and his eventual attempt to eradicate all life in the solar system through Aumaan. In Ren Silber, through the IMPULSE system, it has shown to rapidly degrade physical and mental well-being, though in his case, it was a short albeit intense exposure that he would eventually recover from in the following weeks. This condition is colloquially known as "Metatron poisoning", and cannot be cured should a certain threshold be passed.

-Aumaan-

Aumaan was a gigantic space fortress built into Phobos, and was built solely for the destruction of Earth. It is the center piece of Project Aumaan, Rikoah Hardiman's ultimate goal. To that end, he would build the Orbital Frames Jehuty and Anubis in order to act as keys that would activate and move Aumaan. After Rikoah Hardiman's death, his son, Ridley Hardiman, also known as Nohman, would carry on this goal and attempt to steal both Jehuty and Anubis in the Antilia Raid of 2172. Though he successfully captured Anubis, Jehuty was instead taken by Leo Stenbuck, who would use the frame to defeat the BAHRAM forces and escape Antilia with the Space Force. Two years would pass before Project Aumaan was put into motion. BAHRAM forces congregated at Aumaan fortress with Nohman as the Space Force attempted to follow in order to keep Nohman from the fortress. Dingo Egret, piloting Jehuty, would venture into the fortress and battle Nohman multiple times within, finally coming to a final bout inside Aumaan's core, defeating and destroying Anubis, and along with it, the fortress and the entirety of Phobos, ending old BAHRAM, though sowing the seeds for Neo BAHRAM to emerge from its ashes.

-B-ST DRIVE-

The B-ST DRIVE is a prototype combat system developed to counter the IMPULSE system of Tsukuyomi. Installed on the Fenrir, and tuned to accomodate Razel Serandal's particular fighting style, the system increases the performance of the Fenrir unit tenfold in order to keep up with Tsukuyomi during IMPULSE. When activated, the armor plating of the Fenrir separates, revealing a red glowing frame underneath. This is to allow for the pilot to go on a battle frenzy, with Metatron supplementing Razel's already excellent combat ability. However, the drawback to the system is similar to that of IMPULSE, in that increased Metatron being pumped through the pilot's body can cause serious long-term damages not just physically, but mentally. Unlike IMPULSE, however, the system cannot be used for long as it consumes more energy than the frame's engine is capable of producing, whereas with IMPULSE, the only limit is that of the pilot.

-United Nations Space Force-

The United Nations Space Force, abbreviated as UNSC or simply shortened to the Space Force, is the primary military force of Earth. It is responsible for maintaining and protecting Earth and its colonies, as well as Earth's interest within the Solar System. They are the primary adversary of Neo BAHRAM, having fought and defeated the old BAHRAM in 2174.

Though they had successfully taken Mars after the fall of the old BAHRAM, a brutal and unexpected counterattack by Neo BAHRAM several years later resulted in the planet falling back into the hands of the enemy forces, with Neo BAHRAM securing the planet, its remaining satellite Deimos, and the surrounding space, turning Mars into a fortress of power to deter any attempt to retake the planet. The Space Force then reallocated their forces back to Earth and Jupiter.

The Space Force uniform denotes both division and position and rank within that division. The formal wear always consists of black shoes and slacks, with a coat bearing the insignia of the division of the Space Force the person belongs to on the left shoulder and the sign of rank within that division on the right, with accolades such as ribbons and medals being places on the chest.

The coats are color coded as such:

White - Admiral
Blue - Ship Captain
Red - LEV Pilot/Orbital Frame Runner
Gray - Ship Crew
Brown - Ground Trooper
Green - Ground Crew
Orange - Engineer
