It's a bit of a space opera. Humanity at the time is basically in WW3, this time literally all of Earth. Not just the major countries. While this is happening though, a group of travelling aliens come across Earth and end up agreeing to take a group of humans along. They were an independently funded organization run by those in our society like Elon Musk, etc. Humanity was too focused on fighting each other to actually come together and fund space travel. They put way too much money into war funds and fighting for resources on Earth. So They are basically being babysat by the other 3 more advanced races.
And after joining these aliens they soon find out they are also outcasts from their own societies and are searching for new habitable planets where they can start anew.
I'm open to any pairings between species, as long as it's MxF preferably.

THE ILLUVIAN
Highly Intelligent, but very dependent on technology. Favors logic over emotion. Firm believers in cybernetic enhancements.
The creators and in most ways, leaders, of this group are a species that call themselves The Illuvian. Their homeworld, though not the only planet they inhabit, Ultier Reich, is a planet whose landscape has a government-enforced ratio of natural wildlife and reformed desert land. Fences line the wildlife, and they're strictly maintained by guards and soldiers. The rest is shining lights and huge crowds. The homeless are nonexistent, and rumors circulate as to why.
Their culture is Militaristic and power-based. They have an absolute monarchy, controlled by the one they call King, who is treated much like a god, and has all the power of one. The masses pay taxes gladly, and value honor and service above most. Everything is institutionalized, from art and poetry to military service. Each structure of society is under a single man's power, each equally to what you'd call a "Prime Minister". They are given limited freedom over their lives, so long as they submit to greater power, they are left alone. Conflict arises when the monarchy seizes land, or smothers naysayers, and as a result, a small group has fragmented from this society, one of lawyers, scientists, and artists. Bringing a small population of their Dahn companions with them; They've amassed their wealth and decided to split from their homeworld due to the overwhelming oppressiveness from their government that was accepted by the rest of their culture for so long. Though they do seem humble in contrast to where they came from, it's no secret that the Illuvian has a sense of snobbiness about them. They do believe they are superior to each other sentient race, the way they dress and their technology design generally reflects that.
Biologic ability: Telepathy. This mind link can only be reached through physical touch however. They are spoiled by this and prefer it to communicate with instead of actually speaking.
THE DAHN
Easy going. Uses outdated tech passed down from The Illuvian.
Along with them, they brought a species that had been purely evolved with a servitory nature. The Illuvian have successfully been able to fully code the Dahn's DNA which allows them to be genetically altered from birth. Almost like how ants are born for a specific job and their physical appearance changes to fit that job more efficiently. Different groups are used for different purposes. The military, the food handlers, the laborers, and etc. All forming a caste system within themselves.
A species from the planet Kelvet VI. Lush jungles beset by plains, water pouring in from the extremely close moon in a stream of liquid. The core of their planet is also particularly close to the surface, drying much of the ground except what liquid immediately touches or is near the source. The sheer raw resources of the planet was met with the industrial takeover of the Illuvian.
The Dahn have a jovial, complacent culture that has evolved while under service of the Illuvian. A fair comparison would be what humans have done with dogs. They are seen as unintelligent and good only for obedience. Except these are a sentient species. Some still keeping up with their history before being assimilated into the Illuvian culture. They accept criticism with smiles and song, and take on hard labor with no complaint. While some are bitter being the bottom of the barrel, such voices are quickly either silenced or buried under the majority of happy workers. Some within the Illuvian also believe the Dahn should be free just as they had wanted to be free from their oppressors. This movement hasn't made much momentum, though, considering how comfortable everyone has become with their roles in society. The majority of the Dahn admitting to not even knowing what they would do if they were set free.
Biologic ability: Completely mold-able DNA. Changes ranging from anything like enhanced senses to having four arms and so on. Alterations being made only to suit what their job in life will be.
THE Z'ENAI
Very spiritual, believe most of all in balance. Passive nature, but are very capable of defending themselves if necessary. Dependent on technology as well, but not nearly as much as The Illuvian. Does not believe in integrated cybernetics.
The species called Z'enai, from the planet Alisar then joined them. Their planet burnt to a crisp due to constant warfare, the remaining portion of habitable land is held in a suspended bubble of cultivated land. That which is not scorched land has an artificial atmosphere wherein green plants are a rare sight and much is maintained by machinery. The buildings scrape at the sky, bunched together, and every person is small. Multiple levels make up this single massive metropolis, and underground, farms take up every space as far as the eye can see.
Scientists and a broken culture holds learning and restraint of emotion as principal tenets. They focus upon non conflict, and any physical violence is immediately met with fierce, swift, and withdrawn exile that leads to death without question. When emotional outbursts are witnessed, it manifests in the growing of "flames" across their skin, the accused is put on trial. If two or more witnesses attest to seeing what they call "The Forbidden", the accused is put in solitary confinement or are permanently exiled. The Z'enai does have a military though, more of like a national guard who also double as a security force. They have successfully invented inhibitors that are built into the suits they wear. It's sole purpose to restrict chemical imbalances that are caused by emotions while in combat. Many of their people have an undying loyalty to each other, though. Their leaders are a council of the most accomplished persons, voted upon by the majority of land-owning citizens. This council makes the laws and appoints the judiciary system. The state uses percentages for each political party, supporting a multi-party system of governance.
Biologic Ability: "The Forbidden" is something activated when in high emotional stress. Pheromones excrete from the pores in their skin, glowing in a bright orange or red. Which is why it is said to look like flames. This process induces accelerated cell regeneration and an almost berserk like mindset (Seeing red) for a short period of time. Scientists and historians believe it was built into their ancestors' evolutionary timeline as a subconscious way for the body to prevent itself from dying. It is physically tolling and leaves permanent scarring.
