The exploding dragon left Faris staring blankly at the newcomers. Ah, his seniors. It took quite a while for the fact to register in his mind. The headmaster was there too. He slowly stood up. Sleeping time was over, it seemed. Oh, Miss Kim seemed to be rebuking them. Faris scratched his cheek. Under normal condition, he would never question the critique his seniors send his way, but he was not in normal condition. The fancy vehicle of the headmaster didn't even catch his interest.

"Um, aren't seniors and teacher also a bit late?"

No... she said defense and logic, but they were gathering in the academy entrance. Should they really expect assaults here? The academy should have guards against outsiders and entrance would be strictly guarded... so what's wrong with sleeping again?

Ah, it doesn't really matter. Faris concluded after a while. He should give face to his seniors and professors. And so he stayed silent for the rest of the briefing. Out of respect for his teachers. Not sleeping. For sure.

The group soon went out to their respective patrol area. His group consisted of Nic, Ivan, Rivor, Qwin, and, luckily, Seong. He didn't know much of the others, but at least he knew Seong. Oh, Ivan was a sort of Creator, too, he think. Other than that, he was blind. He hoped they could be relied on. He didn't pin much hope on Qwin, though. He was a Chimera, so he was a bit unpredictable.

Aragon District was an industrial district, if Faris remembered corretly. It wasn't exactly bustling, but it had the vibe of a proper urban jungle with pedestrians walking hurriedly from one point to another and vehicle rushing by the speed limit. The sight made him smile. He felt more like home around buildings like this compared to trees. Urban jungles were where he grew up, after all.

His patrol team was supervised by Miss Min and Senior Himeko. Their main concern was centred around the turf war between local gangs, it seemed. A familiar occurence when more than one major gang occupied an area. If he was correct, exposing Phoenix Ring's benefactor would be taking out the root of the trouble, wouldn't it? Ah wait. Their job was only to patrol... right?

"Um, Miss Min. Should-"

A gunshot.

...ah, no. A gunshot was a bad sign, wasn't it? They had to hurry. Some people in his group was starting to move.

"Ah, wait."

He hadn't set up his red threads.

Originally, a good plan would be for one person to be connected to two others. If one was not familiar with the layout of a city, traversing it without direction could be very confusing. However, he didn't have time. Faris opened his right palm. Three threads shot out of thin air, bind his wrist with Seong, Ivan with the cat faunus (Nic), and Qwin with the black feline faunus (Rivor). He should have paired them based on compatibility and relationship, but he needed to hurry.

"We should at least know where one of us are at anytime, right? The thread can stretch up to around thirty meters from experience," he licked his lips as he wrecked his brain to continue. He felt like he missed an important point. What was it that Professor Grand told him? Agh, he couldn't remember it. He felt too fuzzy.

"I'll be going, then."

Faris released the link around his neck and waist. The chains slithered off his skin, making him shuddered involuntarily. Controlling the chains weren't too difficult. In actuality, he only controlled two link of chains, the link at the very end. The same could be said about the threads. He only needed to maintain them, not control them after all. He manifested a hook at one end of the chain, and shot the chain toward a rooftop. With a jerk, he hauled himself upward.

How long since he had done this move again? It felt so natural no matter how rusty he was.

In less than a second, he had stood on the roof. In one flowing movement, he turned toward Seong and shouted.

"Seong, up!"

The chain binded itself around Seong's waist, and within a second, he was also hauled to the rooftop. He would lift the others, but without prior experience, lifting them would only waste time. Also he didn't think he could carefully direct anyone as he was. Faris turned toward the sound of the gunshot.

"Come."

Jumping from rooftop to rooftop, Faris would quickly reach the source of the gunshot.

Only, he slipped up and fell down an alleyway. The first one he jumped over.

"...eh?"

Moments before he hit the ground, Faris pulled himself upward with his chain, slamming toward the wall of a building. He felt bruises forming on his knees and elbows. Without any better way, he slowly climbed toward the rooftop.

Maybe he still wasn't okay after all.

"I'm Nic." He answered shortly before his attention had shifted to the arrival to the teachers. Of course Grand was late, but it seemed that he was late with others this time. Those who came even later were the seniors, but instead of giving a well-deserved eye roll the flashy arrival warranted a bit of focus of aura in his eyes as he tried to theorize on the Qin being used in the dragon display. Even with the use of aura coating his eyes, the cat Faunus was forced to hold a hand over his eyes to shield it from the light just not as much as he would of if he wasn't using aura.

Normally Nic would get annoyed by loud and boisterous entrances but the aura part of it had caught his interest enough to be forgiven. Then the other instructor dropped her cloaking somewhere around them. His ears had perked up as she revealed herself but he didn't bother turning his head to look over from where she had appeared. Instead of readying himself he simply defused the aura around his eyes from before as he was confident enough to know there was no attack, and from the sound of her clapping his assumption was correct.

His eyebrows furrowed slightly as she droned on, the speech was one he had heard one too many times before from certain training camps he had passed through in Rasporia. People who boasted like that didn't last long as bragging in such a manner typically pissed off the wrong people, and when you go on about how they failed they only learned from it to stab you in the back for the next time . . . Then again she was an instructor and that was basically in the job description so he shouldn't have been more annoyed at her than he was with Grand's presence. Regardless of his reasoning, his shoulders still slouched in bitter disappointment to hear he would be in her group. Even Grand would have been better . . .

____________________

He had never been one for traveling through cities, even on his homeland. The Aragon District wasn't really a favored playing by him, but it also didn't trouble him. During the briefing, Nic had already started to take off his hardened quiver, activating its transformation into its basic skateboarding form. The ground here would serve as a smooth platform to maneuver on, one of the few things he welcomed in a public area.
Closing his eyes for a few seconds he began to concentrate on his aura flow throughout his body, coaxing it through a light meditation before shifting the aura's focus into his eyes and ears for his senses. The gunshot had snapped his eyes open, his aura's focus point faltering just for a second before settling once more on as he dropped his board to the ground about to kick off on it.

He stopped himself as he heard Faris start speaking. They did need to act fast, but that didn't mean they had to throw away all reasonable thoughts in their haste so Nic looked back at him. The creator if he remembered correctly had exhausted himself and didn't seem to have fully recovered. . . Despite that, the boy seemed insistent on pressing on. Nic couldn't tell if this was some act of bravery or just pure foolishness but he decided to make it a point to keep an eye on him if possible.

That possibility lessened as Faris went off with Seong to take the route from the rooftops, which only he could guess would be a good vantage point for Seong judging what he had seen of him in the course of a month. Wordlessly, Nic kicked off on his board toward the gunshot, his senses darting around as he moved quickly. Their job was to watch out for casualties, it didn't necessarily mean they had to charge into a fight they just had to make sure people who weren't part of it didn't get harmed. Keeping that in mind, Nic skated forward quietly with the intention of avoiding direct confrontation.

    Alley || Seong’s CS File
There was something to be said when the one thinking the quickest was the one who also seemed as though a medium gust could knock him to his knees. Seong had no problem with being tethered to Faris especially considering that his main concern was keeping him safe. While he trusted they wouldn’t die, Min would never leave a stain like that in her record, that didn’t mean that they couldn’t get injured on the field. While Seong was by far a ranged specialist, especially having only just barely starting up training with the weapon upgrade he’d manage to design with Able, he still could keep people off their backs if they got in too close.

The gunshots should have been a bigger concern than he currently felt they were. Even if he could see it coming he was certainly no mover at best he could try to block. Ultimately he’d need to find a good spot of cover that was close enough that Faris could also be in range, because there was no way he was letting him out of his sights. He’d already loaded up his chambers with dust. While he couldn’t really manually switch in his heavy artillery without needing to reload it, he’d been sure that the odds were good that the lightning would be a good choice.

He should have known that Faris would take the rooftop approach. While the strategy was sound for him usually, not only was Seong bad at this but Faris was half asleep. He let out a groan as started to scale the building. He was faster than Faris, while he may not be the best with jumping very few could beat him in a climbing match. He reached the building and had a moment of hesitation in which he didn’t know whether he should go first or second to look after Faris. The decision was made for him when Faris jumped. With as many falls as Seong took he could see that Faris wasn’t going to make the jump.

He reached out to him but just barely missed. Instantly he felt a sense of dread that only went away as he heard Faris’ chain. He watched as he hit the wall of the building and winced. Oh man that was going to hurt him. He started to help Faris’ ascent by pulling the chain up as he climbed. Once the taller man had reached the top Seong grabbed him worried he’d try to fly off again.

“Hey, just… Take it slow okay. We don’t need to be talking bad chances. If you can toss your chains into loops we can just walk over them from roof to roof. I can use my qin to make sure we don’t fall so long as we have a surface to touch.”

Paranormal stuffs happened to be Ramona’s strong suit, one of the few things she took interest in. This interest was easily piqued by a place known for its odd supernatural phenomenon, a surprise development for a mission that was supposed to be boring. It was supposed to be. In reality, what awaited them could hardly qualify as a panorama as far as Ramona’s concern.

There were big holes, mentions of big man-munching spiders and dead bodies. Ramona had a hard time understanding how big spider could be considered paranormal in a world where embodiments of darkness like Grimms running around in plain sight.

But Ramona was getting herself familiar with this disappointed feeling. First, it was their seniors, the way they behaved like children. Heh, being babysat by children. Their unnecessary fancy entrance also failed to earn her earnest applaud, unless they could prove to her their worth in combat, she isn’t going to fawn over some firework display anytime soon. But clapped she did. A polite thing to do to acknowledge the efforts of entertainers.

But the other instructor, Miss Min-Seo Kim apparently found her clapping and the general lack of appreciation from the class unsatisfactory. Why else would she criticize Ramona when she clearly was always on guard against any potential attackers? Never mind the fact that Ramona was indeed more relax due to the secured environment in this academy that she rarely experienced before, and the victory from last time was slowly creeping to her head.

Ramona stole a glance at her companions inside the car. The small girl she didn’t know well, but Terra had been in the same team with her last time, from that one time she already had an idea of Terra’s character, or so she thought. All along the ride, the buns girl was taking her time peeking at their seniors. Could she be… suspicious of them? Ramona could see how one would be wary of them, but to be outright suspicious, this girl must have seen something she didn’t, quite a sceptical and observant she is, more so than Ramona had thought. Larisa was, well, the stand-out kind so it’s hard not to know her character, so was Nua’s. She had mixed feelings about the giant, mostly because she couldn’t figure the motive behind his actions, which she planned to find out.

For now, she had something else to investigate. Stood before what used to be Robbins Fine & Dine, Ramona was getting bored. Upon Terra’s question, Ramona put a finger on her lips, then covered her ears with both hands. Under them, a silver light emits from her ears. Ramona could hear Shulg and the PSA agents discussing inside. After a while, she moved one hand to cover her nose, what she got twisted her face, a familiar stench. But mix in with it was a smell of something else, something sinister.

“A body.” Ramona said, with one hand still on her left ear. “Doesn’t sound like it was simply devoured by a normal monster.”

The trip had her dying to get going and do something. This dull type of waiting was not her thing. While she liked the still moments that was only when it was on her own terms. While Shulg and Terrance were entertaining to watch snipe at each other there wasn’t much she could jump in on. Terra seemed a bit lost in her own thoughts, which was always fun to observe as she had a bunch of cute little habits that Larisa didn’t think the girl noticed. Ramona wasn’t someone she knew too well yet and while she was excited to get to know her a trapped space was never where Larisa was at her best so she held off. She did manage to make polite conversation with her and Nua though. The last girl was rather uninteresting to her though. In fact Larisa had already written the girl off. She seemed to be holding no weapons, had no one speaking favorably upon her, and was weird quiet from what she seen the past few days.

Either way it was no skin off her nose either way, she’d trusted the others. While they’d never been on full team together Larisa knew them enough to feel comfortable that they could mesh well if a fight were to break out. She rose from the car and stretched after grabbing Reverence from the trunk as no one really felt comfortable with a three by three foot blade shoved in with them in the car. With a quick motion she tethered it over her shoulder. After the long ride they’d had part of her just wanted to grab at Shulg’s tail still curious to how strong it was. She’d heard there were hellhound types before but they were rare in the Krugian area.

Still that was a distracting thought. She tried to focus in on what Terrance was saying, paranormal? This was curious. She wondered just how much they would see, after all she’d never seen a demon before. Would it be easier to spot than the mer? She knew that Marina and Sanya liked to spend their time searching for the colony that was said to be right off Razdor’s banks but had no such luck. The fact that the case involved spiders just made her more interested.

“Oh spiders huh? I think my old man killed a few spider-like grimm before. Or is this something more tied into something else?”

She was slightly taken aback when Ramona identified the stench that was getting stronger as a body. Oh maybe they would get to do something after all. She instantly found herself becoming more curious as she went to get closer to the doorway only to be shut down. Well from this distance that was indeed the smell of a dead body. Geez what were they suppose to do if they couldn’t even look. Part of her felt annoyed at the situation, they could fight for these people but they couldn’t even let them be properly trained?

“Well I guess our job here is just clean up crew then since we can’t even go look.”

Nuadha

Nuadha felt his brow furrow. He wondered if he held his face like that long enough would it stick? "It is... frustrating, this waiting around." Nua offered, to no one in particular. He was happy to be out and about. He had no real right to complain. And yet, he sensed that his restlessness was not unique.

He nodded along with Larisa's assessment. Their whole team was a second line of defense at best, and an unwanted hindrance at worst. Despite his apprehensions about their current situation, he found it in himself to smile. Surely, things would pick up soon. For better or worse, he thought that this waiting, and the uneasy feeling it produced in him, was about to end. He was ready to welcome it with open arms, and closed fists.

After noting the cat-boys name and preparing a response they were interrupted by the grand-master, Grand, and a bear faunas. They all introduced themselves and it was terribly dull. She forced herself to listen but after a while it started to all blend together into white noise. That was until the seniors were called, ...

Eva's face contorted slightly, having to stop herself from bursting in laughter. All that display from the 3rd years was just that, a display. All Eva could ever hope is that she would not be like that. Trying to impress freshmen by dancing through the wind. With all the rubbish in the world. They all could have just walked, or driven! It almost drove Eva nut to the point of where she had to force her attention back to the announcements themselves. Which were seemingly short lived as they were scolded not long after the seniors 'touched down' by a teacher for not being alert! Eva furrowed her brow and spoke not a word of the whole situation. There was no need to bring undue attention to herself, especially surrounded by folks such as the headmaster herself.

Of course she had to be paired with the pretty boy Chimera, and Terrance. Who both seemed to bicker endlessly but through listening into it she could find out a few things that she may have accidentally ignored earlier. Such as the gigantic man eating spiders, the paranormal activity in the city district. Which was all just sooooooooo grreaaat... Now they could just record it all sell it for profit . 'Though the name would need some work, it would go something like 'a small group of students get chased by giant spider'. yea...' Even in her own head the joke had run it's course and now it was time to get to brass tacks.

Eva lacked a camera (Unfortunately) and instead had two bickering third years, and some of her classmates. Course the third year winked but she could tell that there was a big nugget of truth in what he just said, that may not be just her inference though. With everyone else around her seemingly having somewhat similar looks in their faces. With a classmate of hers commenting that she had killed a few of them before. Good to know that they have a professional spider squashier on her own side! Now all was left to do was wait.

Now that they had arrived to the fine n' dine, Eva was left with a conundrum. Her curiosity was definitely getting the better of her at the moment. She was clearly able to see the outside of the restaurant but the inside was much more blocked off. The entire building looked decimated and every bit of her wanted to take a peak inside. For her purposes it was not the best idea. There were a million better things she could do. Like wait here to think about all the things she could do. Besides, how could she even get in, with all the security. It was a lost effort in this case that left Eva much better off staying still and doing nothing.

The gunshots were an unfortunate reality of this district. It was well known that the crime was beyond the paladins reach in certain sectors. When it came down to it the paladins couldn’t be the sole protectors of Sigma and this is exactly why they need the local police, even if they were forced to maintain a situation drastically above their pay grade until a paladin arrived. Panic would overflow if they ever let go of the idea that the paladins were everywhere. Situations like this is why they needed their criminal contacts. Situations like this were the ones she hated. She let out a sigh and turned to her students after deciding a plan of attack. Still that was pretty useless as a fair deal went and charged ahead without communicating, even her own brother what a day.

Well her job was originally to observe as Himeko led, still it’d be rather harsh for her to let the wild ones behavior be on Himeko. She turned to the girl and gave her the non-verbal cue to surround and observe, for today the rookies would have the floor. She lifted her abnormally large quiver of katanas and with guided force launched the swords forwards to scattered them across the way. While most landed straight into the ground she had a few that she’d purposely launched to the top of the building.

“I’ve heard that you were under prepared for Grand’s test. Do note that Himeko and I are not all seeing and to think you’ll always have someone to fall back on is a deadly error. If you lose your weapon grab another, while working with someone else’s weapon is not ideal it’s better than nothing in a pinch. With that I believe I shall now get a read on your wayward classmates. Planning collaboratively is always the better choice, you should do so now while you can. Don’t take unnecessary risks. A good soldier is a live one.”

With that she took a step back and started to fade into a swarm of 1000 butterflies. The swarm split in four as one went forth to the highest point in the area, another following the Nicoloi as he sped away, the last two stayed close together as the followed the boys scaling the rooftop at both sides from a further distance. As the butterflies reached their destination the first swarm formed back into the woman watching from above where her main body would stay ready to assist.

By the time the third and fourth swarm had reached the duo on the roof she’d found a familiar face there as well. Without a thought she grabbed one of the swords she’d moved to the roof and placed it right under the lamia’s neck stepping on her tail in the same motion. She made sure that she’d placed her other copy just out of the lamia’s sight. Criminals couldn’t be trusted to react rationally after all.

“Kerym Lanren, Associate of the Valerie Family. Your protection doesn’t extend to speech with training Paladins. You should know this by now. Unauthorized contact with non-licenced Paladins not only puts their schooling at risk but your protection. If they’re not with their teachers or accomplished paladins you are not to speak with them.”

Yeah waiting around wasn’t doing much good in the slightest. She let out a sigh as she heard Nua echo her own sentiments. Frustrating, boring, a waste of their time, any could fit just as well. Since they were so keen on ignoring their help then the only real solution here was to get up and get moving then. She motioned in her classmates as she moved further back letting the overseeing third year continue their conversation with the owner.

    “Hey… guys…”

She made sure she was being silent as she tapped Able and Nua on the shoulders as she made a motion to Terra and Ramona. She waited until a few walked back before continuing on. She knew that Terrance could likely overhear them just fine, which would be a challenge but it wasn’t as if they didn’t need to train with communication anyways. The biggest problem with her plans was… well they needed the practice. She could drag them off all she wanted but if they didn’t understand what she was trying to communicate than it was all for naught.

“Кровью ... это было бы намного проще, если бы они знали другие языки”

She grumbled a bit in Krugian before she turned back to the others. With a sigh she realized that she’d have to use coded common language. Would they even play along if they did understand? Well at the very least they would be avoiding doing nothing which is what got them scolded already early.

“Able, Nua… you guys are good with working together right? But naturally not all of us have worked together. Well then the only solution would be to practice our duties as Paladins right? If you came across someone that died what would a paladin do then?”

Yeah this wasn’t going the best. Still there was no real way to be able to suggest “Hey let’s go break into the place and check for clues to go hunt down the killer!”. For one technically they were already doing that? Was this actually just meant to test their patience? If so they were failing fast and Larisa wanted no part in that.

Even squirrels could fall from trees.

Faris was no squirrel and rooftops were not trees, but the connotation was there. He grabbed Seong's offered hand sheepishly, a bit embarassed over his fall. He fell down the first gap over everything else. If that wasn't shameful he didn't know what is. Luckily, only Seong was around to see him as good normal civilians didn't climb rooftops. Or so he thought until a snake-like chimera appeared in front of him.

The first thought he had was, now that's embarassing. Did she see everything? It's a relief she didn't laugh.

The second thought he had was, ah, she's a Mystic. This isn't good. Should I run? No, will a preemptive strike be better? Wait, Seong is here. Ah, what to do.

If his priority sounded tilted, it was because it really was. Normally, Faris would first question why a mystic would climb the rooftop at the middle of the day as only those in unsavory business or possess extraordinary circumstances--being a Paladin, for example--would even think of using the rooftop as a path. The second act he would do is to determine her intention and ask her of the source of gunshot. Of course, as Faris was not in a clear state of mind, he didn't think to ask that. Rather, the first question that slid of his tongue was,

"Um, who are you?"

The situation only became more confusing when Miss Min (who, he remembered afterward, was Seong's elder sister) appeared out of nowhere and started saying something regarding Valerie family, associates, and right.

"So, what's going on here?" he asked Seong, bewildered by the sequence of events that just had happened. The gunshot was nowhere in his mind already.

    [div class=cap2]Kimmy[/div]

"Not even a single one made it." She sighed. "What a waste of resources."

Ignoring the usual complaining, Cody merely focused on his yo-yo. Up and down, round and round. Whether hired thugs that wanted a quick pay could do their job or not was none of his concern. All that mattered is that they got some attention. Besides, dealing with the Lamia should be easy, it was the puppy caretaker that he was after anyway, that and it was hard to say no to the boss when she promised that he could have fun with Lupa all on his own the next time he saw her.

The very suggestion filled young, sweet Cody with a dangerous sense of satisfaction at getting to meet his little caretaker once more.

Thinking these thoughts, the redhead grinned. He couldn't wait to see Lupa's terrified face when she saw him again. There was just something about a girl who chucked monstrous size-shifting dogs at you that was somehow attractive. Maybe, just maybe, his Trigger was messing with him again. It wasn't uncommon, honestly and hadn't been since the mugging that nearly cost him his life. It was a need now. A dangerous need to throw himself into danger, a toxic, dangerous need that came with overbearing power, strength, durability and speed. It was one of the reasons he joined the Ring. And one of the reasons he was out here, listening to Kimmy go on and on about another one of her rants.

    The adrenaline rush was intoxicating.

Or maybe, just maybe, he had it that bad for this Lupa chick after all.

"...and-- Hey!" A swat was delivered, there was no physical action but it seemed more like the wind hand been condensed and then swatted him upside the head. This bawled the redhead off his seat off the vents of the roof to the cold stone floor. "I was talking you cad!" Yet despite the barely raised pitch in her tone, Kimberly's blank facial expression showed the opposite of annoyance or irritation. Just another minor trigger, just another casual day of irritating his friends.

Ah yes. He had to admit, she can get pretty cute when she's angry also. What is it about chicks trying to kill me, that I can't get enough of? Grinning warmly, manic gleam in his eye, Cody raised his hands in defensive submission. "My bad." He offered gently, his submission only got furrowed brows from Kimberly and he felt a powerful, dangerous urge to pick at her just to get her a bit madder.

Angry chicks were hot. Dangerously hot. Especially the ones who had aura. Normal girls....well they just didn't do it for him. Not anymore. Not since the change.

Angry chicks that posed an actual threat to his more or less invincible body? Might as well call the fire department because he may as well be incinerating.

"Danny says there are Sentries nearby. He's asking if he should contact the others and send Timothy and Sarah down here. I'm telling him to."

Cody frowned and then said: "Awww, Kim, don't do that! C'mon it'll be fun. You've got that whole mind magic thing and I've got--"

    "Shut up."

Pouting petulantly, Cody wanted to argue more. Not because it would just be amusing but Tim and Sarah would ruin the fun. Well...at least he could get a head start before they got here.

"Kim", turning, unable to express the true annoyance on her face, a boop was delivered. Right on her nose. Eyes going crossed, Kim tried to see where she'd been booped, and then felt a growing warmth in her cheeks that bubbled with anger that she couldn't much express because her face muscles refused to understand emotions anymore. "You prick." Was her monotoned, bored reply.

Grinning, Cody waggled his brows, a saucy move that dripped with flirtation. Then, without any hesitation, he jumped and moved towards the edge of the roof, grabbed a steel pipe, and then ripped it clean off its connections with a horrible wrenching sound without any struggle at all.

    "Watch my back?"

    Kim grunted in reply.

"Thank you." And with a wink a smile, Cody launched himself like a rocket into the air, steel pipe and yo-yo in hand.

A telekinetic blast shoved the Lamia, bowling her back and in turn that shoved the original, who was sent back like a bowling pin with the Mystic.

Cody, not one to waste a chance from Ki, landed, then with absurd speed he swung his make shift, fifteen foot long pipe at Min's clone. In his eye there was a manic twinkle. A twinkle that promised pain, and a look of excitement on his face that hoped for some fun.

[/div][/div] [div class=Content] Able turned quickly at the tap on his shoulder. He found a wild Larisa gathering everyone into a quick huddle. Able smiled and showed Larisa his notebook that showcased a pair of his string gloves but upgraded. "Hey Larisa! Look at my sweet toy idea. It holds 3 times more string and can hold 3 times more weight. In theory that is." Able tapped his face with the pencil he was holding and jotted down some extra notes on what to improve. He looked back to Larisa as she asked about teamwork, and what they would do in this situation. "My toys work well with anyon-" Able was inturupted by a blood curdling scream. He cut his glance towards the diner. Able wanted to say something and go in but it was so universally silent that he felt like he shouldn't move. After a couple seconds of waiting another scream came through. It was mixed of emotion, until it was joined by more, and then more, and then more. It was never ending almost. After a moment though, the screams started to harmonize. He started to feel heavy, like he couldn't move, even breathing was difficult. Then all at once he saw things that he'd never want to see. When he eventually came through he noticed that everyone had the same look of disgust and horror on there face. Along with being completely... soaked? What made them all so wet?

When Able looked forward towards the diner the multi legged monsters forced there way up from the ground. At a moments notice the beasts started screaming and running towards them. Able went to react with his gloves but when he saw them he squealed and ripped them off his hands. He threw them away from him as he fell backwards. He calmed down as a bubble surrounded them, leaving the gloves on the outside of it. But Able quickly realized that he was now weaponless. Didn't matter too much though, he had some spare materials on him at all times to throw something together. Able tried activating his aura to build something but as he did a shock of fear shot through his body as he quickly stopped trying to use it. Why am I scared? I always make things. This makes no sense. It was that vision I had. Why would my toys betray me, who was controlling them? It wasn't me, they were destroyed and battered. What if they try to kill me again. I can't fight these monsters if I don't make something. Make something and die to my own creation, or die to a huge ugly monster? I think I'd prefer to go out on my own terms. Able closed his eyes and took a deep breath. He had to do something to help. With the speed of trained reflex, Ramona promptly moved into combat position as soon as the first cry came on, gun pointed down the empty street. Her nerves tensed, seconds have passed, but the enemies still refused to reveal their location. They didn’t know from which direction the enemies were going to mount their attack, nor of what kind, but they were coming closer, and then, in numbers. The situation wasn’t in their favour in the slightest.

Those disadvantages were too much for Ramona, it was unfair to ask her to fight under those conditions. There was no way they could get out of this unscathed, it was inevitable, too inevitable. Ramona was no stranger to fear on the battlefield, it is, after all, a sense vitals for survival since ancient times. This fear though was beyond what she was used to. There was something else at play here, although she didn’t know what it was, a voice deep down whispered the muffled answer into her ears, a feeling that she knew what was going on.

“They are here.” Muttered Ramona. She saw the faces, clearer than the reality around her. Faces of her kills. Among them are those once dear to her, of allies and old friends. Then there were faces of her sworn enemies, old rivals and traitors. Those whose faces were blurred yet so clear to her, nameless people she no longer remembered. In their eyes, burned the fire of hatred that Ramona understood full well. They lamented their death and cursed their murderer in the same voice from the day of their ultimate end.

“Why…”, “How dare you…”, “…I’ll revenge…”, “…bitch, I’ll kill you…”, “…never forgive…”, “Forever, my ghost…”, “…it’s dark, it’s cold…”, “…mother…”, “please…” …

One by one faded away by her shaking shots, then another mockingly appeared in place of the last.

“Go away!” Ramona hissed with each shot “I’ve already killed you! AND I WILL DO IT AGAIN”.

Her voice trailed away into incoherent words, face covered in sweat, her heart beat like it was about to explode. “No! I did nothing wrong… you would… the same… no not me… no way…”.

The voice deep in her heart whispered louder and louder, she could almost hear what it was saying. Before her, stood her brothers, they were crying tears of sadness and roaring their anger at the same time. Tears for the life that was taken from them too soon and anger towards the fate that had taken them away, and their sister who was involved in making their fate so.

The final nail in the coffin, her mother, standing there as tall as ever looking down on her with darkened face. The voice in her heart had reached her. She finally knew what this was, the one single thing she had always feared from the bottom of her heart. Written in the doctrine of many religions and beliefs. The judgement day had come for her. The deaths had awakened to seek revenge, the devil was there to claim her. There was nowhere to run, no one she could kill to escape the revenge.

Ramona looked down at her shaking hands, her gun was nowhere to be seen, she had dropped it without realizing. She too was sitting on the ground, almost crawling. Eyes wide opened, stricken with terror.

Her sidearm was still there on her waist, which she drew, and slowly in her shaking hand, brought it to her head. There was one escape left for her. They will not get her alive.

Then all of the sudden a wave of water swept through her from above. With it, the raging terror and madness clouding her mind were partly swept away, but by no mean all of them. She could still feel them screaming in her heart. Only her determination from before was lost.

The earth was shaking and the screams still went on non-stop. Crawling on the ground, Ramona looked at her surroundings, her allies, and confused. What’s going on? What was she doing? She still felt endangered, and there was still no escape.

She couldn’t even remember how to talk, let alone acknowledge the situation and fight. Just sat there, helpless.

It was such a beautiful morning. The sun was shining and everyone was busy. Those of lower social class started to open their small shops, or ran to their workplace or added their voice to the morning bustle by advertising their ware. Francis let out a sigh before he pushed his cart into the daylight. He was once a well off son of a middle-to-high economy class family, but since his father cut him off, he had (grudgingly) learnt to make his own money like a common, one in dozen peddler.

"Explosives! Explosives for sale! Strong enough for demolition work! Spherical or Cylindrical! 800 Culrins each! Explosives! Explosives for sale!"

Yes, a very common peddler indeed. One people wouldn't glance at twice. He would be lucky to have a costumer or two in six hours, where he could make a small bit of profit to feed his mouth and sleep with a full stomach. Truly, it was a-

"Screw this job!" Francis flipped his cart over.

The broken axis of the wheel was one thing, but passerbys bolted away the moment they saw dynamites and bombs rolling even slightly to their direction. Seeing his potential costumers fleeing, Francis' eyes turned into a slit. He indignantly pointed at the sky, as if it had killed his firstborn son.

"Why is it so hard to sell anything here? I just want money! Money! Like any honest businessman wants to feed his family and any corrupt officials blinded by wealth and greed! Is it too much to ask for a costumer after two minutes? Heaven, do you truly hate for for trying to ascend? I will not falter even under your oppression, you hear me?! O, Ghost of the Past, prevent the lightning of tribulation from striking down this humble man. Accept my humble offering of rasporia apple and the crumbs of a dead grandmother's cookie in accordance to the grinning ritual. Past, do hear my plea of protection and help my struggle against the restrain of the heaven!"

We hear you nice and clearly, you crazy ************, was what passed through the mind of everyone that heard Francis' monologue (the **** part changed depending on the person). Sensible shop owners told their assistants to call the officials. Francis put a shriveled up apple and god-knows-how-long-it-had-sit-there crumbs from his trouser's pocket on the wreckage of his cart before initiating a dance that involved a lot of waltzing about, kicking his own elbows, and spinning on one foot. The shop owners knew well enough how dangerous Francis could be for their business.

"And now," walking a bit woozily due to the amount of spinning he had made, Francis approached his offerings with a grin. "to finish the ritual with one last chant and getting away from this street to never ever set my feet here again in honour of the Ghost of the Past."

The eyes of everyone still around said it was too good to be true.

"Of course, what grinning ritual would be complete without exploding exactly 13 kg of explosives?" He started to gather the scattered explosives.

"I knew it!" A burly baker spoke out what was in everyone's mind.

Before the events could derailed any further, a scream could be heard. Everyone stopped at their feet. Even Francis stopped. For a moment, everyone was paralysed. Even Francis was paralysed. Then everyone started to scream. Most fell to their back and couldn't stand up. Even Francis started to-

"AHHHHHHHHHHHHH!"

He ran out of breath midway and took a breath. Then he held a card to his mouth and started screaming again. If he was frantic before, the banshee's cry had pushed him completely off the grid on the 'on a scale of 1 to drunk rasporia how calm you are'.

"AHHHHHHHHHHHHH! The demons! The Djinn of Untold Tower has descended as a mother of a Grimm! Abort mission! Look no further for the spider spirit! THE DJINN IS HERE! Stay away! I command you with my avatar of horror and improbability, return to the womb of your cousin-in-law twice removed, Mary!"

No one knew what he was talking about. Then again, maybe it was for the people's own good that they were too much in shock to proceed what had happened to Francis. At that moment, anyone that looked in his direction would be greeted by what one may called a nightmare. A gathering and amalgation of disturbing figures, staring right into the soul of anyone too unlucky to look at them. They were vivid. A nightmare in flesh. While they would be horrid normally, after the terror shown by the banshee's scream, the monsters became too much for some.

The old bookshop owner died of a stopping heart after staring right into the eyes of one such demons.

"Die, angels of concrete, die! Die! Die! Die! Die! Die! Die! Die! Die! Die! Die! Die! Die! Die! Die! Die!" Francis made matters worse by flinging bombs and explosives everywhere.

He could be blamed for many things, but not false advertisement. Buldings collapsed. Rubbles poured down like hail everywhere he threw his explosives. Careful observer would notice he had enhanced his whole physical ability with aura that greatly increase his throwing range. The street where he was standing was a living nightmare. Symphony of explosions could be heard wide and far.

It was such a beautiful morning. The sun was shining and everyone was dying.

Nuadha

In an instant his world was overturned. First he felt as though he could not move, as though he were wrapped up in chains. Though he looked and found no bond had been placed upon him. Struggling at first, Nuadha thrashed against the confines of his prison. Or, he would have. His muscles disobeyed him. He commanded them to move, but they stayed where they were, taut and straining against the unseen weight.

For a moment he thought to call for help. He tried but the words caught in his throat. It was no use. His friends had fallen prey to the same spell. What sort of power was this? That it could hold them all? He did not know. Nor did he dare to hazard a guess. Instead, the boy could only stare - mute and frozen - as the world melted around him. Gone was the street, the sidewalk, the people he'd known. Replaced by dense, dark foliage. Precious little sunlight trickled down from between the interwoven treetops overhead. In the distance he saw movement. A shadow gliding past shadows. He was being hunted.

No longer was he grown, as he'd remembered he was. Instead, his hands were that of a child's, caked with dirt and something else, something dark, thick. He tried to chip it away and the grime stuck under his cracked and dirty fingernails. A rustle went out from a nearby bush, scattering a flock of tiny, chattering birds. The sound made him jump. He stumbled backwards, his ankle catching on a gnarled root poking out from the underbrush. He landed on his backside and felt a twinge of pain shoot down his legs from where he'd struck a jagged rock.

The rustling was getting closer. This was to be the end. He remembered now this feeling. Fear, but more than that. Hopelessness, despair. Beyond even that, a sort of acceptance. Like the feeling of euphoria that comes right before the light goes out. Wet, hot tears stung his cheeks and he let them fall, hugging his knees close to his chest. He tucked his chin between the fold in his arms and waited, the sound of some large creature drawing nearer filling his ear drums with the sound of its heavy footfalls, like the sound of his own heart beating like a drum in his chest. Buh-bum. Buh-bum. Buh-bum.

The wave of water struck him like a bolt of lightning. He was curled up, much like he'd done as a child all those long years ago, lost and afraid, tears streaming like rivers down his face. Only now things were different. His surroundings were different. He was different, too. There was still hope.

"Let them come!" He staggered to his feet, the cloth of his mantle clinging awkwardly to his body. He tossed it aside. It seemed he could move again. He noted this, fresh tears still wetting the space under his eyes more than the water already had. Crack! Went the sound of Nuadha's fist against his jaw. "Now is not the time for tears!" He shouted as a bruise formed almost immediately under the skin in the place he'd struck. A thin trickle of blood escaped from between his lips. The tears had ceased.

Evaline "Eva" Lilly

Everything was relatively peaceful, nothing was happening at the moment besides just anticipation. She would say hi to someone if she wanted to. Everyone there seemed to be in their own little worlds and honestly, Eva was fine to be in her own little bubble. Her own antisocial bubble that she had been subjecting to herself for the last couple years now. She had come to terms with it. It was almost peaceful, watching every do their own little thing and be patient. A few moments of silence that Eva enjoyed with a faint smile. A smile interupted by a yell that faded shortly. It left Eva a bit curious, getting her answers shortly.

An ear-piercing wail overcame every sense systematically. Starting with her ears, then her own mental well being. Her vision blurred, her body started to ignore itself and go numb. Her skin developing an odd red as she overlooked her passive focus. The focus she used to keep her skin a light tint of brown, the focus she used to hide her shame She started to claw at her ears, trying to form her unresponsive body's ears to close off the sense like she had done before and to prevent the shock waves of pain. The clawing slowed as she fell to her knees with a violent thump onto the concrete. The pain of such a fall being ignored as tears formed, begging the noise to stop. She used her arms to support her body up from collapsing across the floor in pain for the purpose of a slim hope that maybe, just maybe she could pull herself up, gain her focus to stop herself from this pain. Not seconds later that hope was dashed with her arms freezing along with the rest of her body.

Her body froze, tears stopped. Everything slowed to a crawl. All of her remaining mental function was put into breathing, not for long as her mind was flooded with images. Horrible images that she had spent a long time repressing and justifying. She became angry looking at all this, Eva did not want to see any of this. She had ran from all of this for a reason. The insults, the mocking. . . the stares. There was not a day she regretted what she did. It was justified, they made her life a living hell. They spread lies about her, rallied the entire academy to perform their form of a cruel joke on her, when what did she do! Does undertaking the innocent act of existing asks such an action!

"They made their choice" Eva muttered under her breath. In anger, she started to scream. A scream that was lost in the wails that had damned everyone. "I was justified! It was Justified!!! THEY SIGNED THEIR DEATH WARRANT"!!!

Her anger did not force the visions to cease. It continued to bring up more memories, more memories that only continued to make Eva become more furious. The memories of those she had left for dead tormenting her. The reason she left them for dead. She had urged them to stop; she tried to be nice. She had tried to be their friend even as they ruined her few friendships. When they rushed headlong into battle against a Grimm Tyrant and entrusted her with the key to their lives... What were they expecting? A friend?

Forced to relive every moment of her horrifying past, any cheerful thoughts of a friend that stuck with her through all of it turned against her about how he would feel if he uncovered the truth. vioent thoughts escaped her mind, with her own phyche debating her mind.

Eva's mind screaming, arguing with that what she did was justified but her psyche just sat there until it was done, a patient debater. When it was done yelling and trying to drown any opposition Eva's psyche spoke. Speaking in a composed voice, informing her in a polite melody that could calm the most furious of bulls that nobody but a demon would do that. She could have helped, she could have saved them. Instead, she played right into her 'role'.

Grit teeth released into a wide-open mouth and breathing became secondary to thought. Eyes staring into the nothing that was the concrete beneath herself. She had to hear what he had been ignoring this whole time and she knew it was true. No amount of anger or willful ignorance could amend that. The blast of water knocked her over, knocking her over onto the ground with a thump. Her head hitting the concrete with almost no bodily reaction from Eva. Inch by inch body changed back into its form Lilith had worked desperately hard to keep a secret. Her demonic visage taking form, horns forming at the top of her head and fangs barely sticking out above her lip. Yet her mind was not worried about losing her disguise at the moment. All she was trying to do was comprehend that in which is already had been.

Within seconds she started to realize that she was undisguised. Her form slowly shifted back into Evaline. Hoping that no one noticed the loner human Evaline Lilly turning into a demon mystic in their own pain. By the time she stood, she had been once.

Now her loose gaze moved to this giant Grimm. An overwhelming feeling of dread overcame every inch of Eva. Should she run again? To flee the people who she barely knew to possibly die? Every bone in her body commanded her to be coward. Yet she knew absolutely well that they would have locked them into a cage with this Grimm the moment they could. Eva had no choice but to confront her fears. To confront such a Grimm could indicate death. Some of her teammates rose with her, some were left snivelling wrecks across the floor. Some had yet to rise. Something she could not be unreasonable at anyone about. There was a realistic chance she could have been knocked out when she hit the concrete. Left with her own nightmares.

Alas now is not the time to think. Backed into a corner and forced to fight. Eva formed her body into a weapon once more. Her arms becoming large blades and her body becoming as hard as titanium. She knew that she could not stay in such a fighting state for long. As yet she has been spirited at this moment. Left with such a threat, she could merely hope. Hope her strikes land true.

The crisp air was always welcomed, whether it was rainy or shiny the fresh air made every morning a beautiful one to him. Maybe this air wasn’t the freshest being tangled in competing scents of lowly vendors all around and the rushed manner of those trying to gain the attention of others didn’t exactly make this a relaxing trip. None of this was important to him. They didn’t come to admire the scenery or engage with the local activities, they came for a hunt.

At least that is what he was told. He wasn’t sure if his partner was just pretending to be a vendor or if he was actually trying to make a buck, and he didn’t care to take a look into his mind to determine the difference. He learned long ago that it was best not to try to understand his explosive partner, so instead of playing that game, he went off on his own with an ID card in hand. The small boy had only intended to look around for leads but as he traversed through the area his attention split between the mission and his childish whims.

Passing by an area with toys . . . He didn’t need toys. Passing by a person selling caramel apples . . . He wasn’t hungry for it. Passing by a person selling caramel apples . . . He thought he saw something there concerning the hunt. Passing by a person selling caramel apples– okay maybe just one treat wouldn’t hurt. Looking around, the boy focused his aura on those around him trying to find which one was the weakest to hungry kids and what they found to be cute or deserving of sympathy.
Twirling a card in hand the boy quietly slid out of view of those passing by.

[IMG='width:571px;']https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/504754423319232522/516709125686558720/tyughjhg.png[/IMG]Emerging from shadows was a blonde petite with bright blue eyes swollen from previous tears, she clutched a ragged coin purse close to her chest with a growling stomach. She waited in line patiently counting the few coins in her purse, eyeing the treats wishfully licking her lips. When she approached the vendor she shakily pointed to the apple and asked, “How much?”
The man’s answer cast a gloom over her. She looked down at her coin purse then back to the man, offering her coin purse along with the coins. The man counted, then pushed it back to her. It wasn’t enough. Her eyes shifted from the man and the caramel apple trying to find a way to just get one bite.
“I’ll help.” She started to cry, “I can work for it if you just let me.”

The man waved her off, calling forth the next one in line. The girl continued to plead but her cries were ignored and she was ready to leave. Before she could take another step, a young man stepped into the line.

“I’ll pay for her,” He told the seller, placing down his payment as he looked down at the girl with a smile. The girl’s eyes lit up as she thanked the man, her small hands taking the stick of the caramel apple that was handed to her. The young man explained it was no trouble, pausing as he almost said a name. Behind his warm expression was a hint of a sadness in his eyes, but before he could truly shake it off the girl was one just as the memory of his former sister had vanished.

.

With that out of the way, he emerged from the shadows with a caramel apple in hand and a card torn in two behind him. Passing a young man who stood there wiping his eyes bewildered by a phantom of his past, the boy took a bite of his apple and continued to look around without a second thought.

Big spider. Big Spider. Where could you be? Amongst a Web beyond, what we can see? The tune played in his head as he sampled the thoughts around him looking for a lead.
Ughh, stop looking at the other girls and just look at me . . . Don’t you love me? Oh god oh god– did I miscount? I should have more than this . . . Oh god, I’m going to be in so much trouble . . . Damn that girl’s ass is looking fineeeee Someone should call the cops on that guy . . . Is it even legal to sell explosives like that?

Explosives? The boy paused for a moment, looking off in the direction of the person who had explosions on their mind. His eyes narrowed, shifting his search toward people coming from that same direction.
I want it I want I want it!!! That man was crazy, I have to alert someone before anyone gets hurt. Ghost of the past? If this place wasn’t spooky enough as it was . . . BOOOBS, I SEE BOOBIES I gotta get out of here before that guy snaps. Too many explosives in one area!

That was definitely his partner they were talking about, there was no one as crazy as him. He was only a third of the way done with his apple and already it was being spoiled with work. The boy pulled out a card from his suit’s pocket, focusing his aura on it to send a message.

“Francis you’re—”

A scream cut through, shaking the boy down to his core forcing his unfinished apple to drop to the ground. Everyone around him froze in place, the thoughts he had been sampling turning to terror before being sealed off. He needed to act but his body wasn’t working and from what he could gather from those around him they too seemed to be frozen in place despite their overwhelming need to flee.

Big spider, big spider, big spider . . . He repeated, raising his hands to cover his ears. Focus, he kept telling himself, shutting his eyes to gather his aura to raise his defenses. When he opened his eyes his heart stopped.

Fire. All around him was a crimson wave washing around him, it’s tendrils flicking towards him threatening to devour him.

“No... No . . . NO! It isn’t real– GET OUT OF MY HEAD!” The boy quivered clutching at his left side of his face, a familiar burning sensation stinging him. Cards around him started to form against his own better judgment, swarming around him defensively. The cards weren’t his basic playing cards, these ones were reinforced with a strong steel to combat the fire around him. He wanted to put it out, he wanted the fire to go away–

He wanted to crush the source.

“I’ll make you go away, I’ll destroy it all, I’ll–” His eyes widened, the swarming cards around him faltering for a second. A figure in the flames had formed, a shadowy man walking towards him.

“No . . .No, NO! The cards around him frantically formed, lashing out into the flames at the figure but the man kept approaching. “You’re not real!” He cried, but even he couldn’t help but take a step back at the approaching man. Each step the man took the more his form began to mutate.

“I’m stronger than you . . . ” His voice trembled, more cards joining the storm. “I have power over you . . . You can’t hurt me anymore, you can’t!” The figure extended a hand towards him, opening his mouth saying something that he couldn’t quite hear but could understand without the audio.

“You’re a bad bad man, and I don’t ever want to see you again . . .” The storm became unstable, lashing out at random without any form as his own resolve wavered.

“L E A V E M E A L O N E”

“Ah-h-hee h-” Another voice screamed in his head, “eh e–-ons-f— Dij-n-n-n---- ol-lld— tow-w-w-e---- . . . Grimm— Abor—t–t-t-t-t-t— On— . . . The signal was broken beyond what he could understand but this message alone (whatever it was) was enough to shake him out of his panic.

“You’re not real.”
None of this was real, but the fear was . . .
The cards continued to swarm around him destroying smaller things in its path, chipping away at anything bigger. Even with the vision now broken, he could still feel the flames of his past, the words still echoing in his head.

The boy took a step forward, his leg weakening beneath him causing him to nearly far over before being lifted from his cards. Where do I go? Big spider, big spider, big spider . . . Go hunt the big spider he said . . . Kill the big spider.

Terra Ursula

Location: Outside Sam Robbins Fine & Dine| Team: BriiAngelic BriiAngelic Elenion Aura Elenion Aura The Regal Rper The Regal Rper Lappi Lappi Mqueserasera Mqueserasera Foogels Foogels

They were gathered in a small circle. Words were exchanged between teammates, but they flew past Terra's ears. She couldn't focus - her green orbs kept stealing glances at the gigantic spider-made holes every other second. Her survival instinct was telling her to run far away from here as soon as possible yet her curiosity lured Terra towards them. Caught between the two opposing thoughts, all Terra could do was furrow her brows, and sit her place.

Before either impulse could win, a blood curdling scream filled the air, making Terra's breath get stuck in her throat. The scream was then followed by another and another and another ...

Terra's gauntlet clad hands flew to her head, gripping tightly at the two hair buns. She was trying desperately and failing miserably to stop her faunik ears from registering the ominous sound.

Her muscles soon gave in. Terra fell in a half-kneeling position, her eyes tightly shut. She felt as if her head was going to split in two.

The incoherent screams were turned to symphonies - only to be replaced by somthing entirely different. Something that only made the situation worse. Much worse. Terra felt like she was going to puke.

She was trapped in the body of her thirteen year old self – a past version of herself that Terra never wanted to be reminded of again. A pair of chubby hands flew to her pimple covered face trying to hide the shameful red hue spreading across her checks. Terra’s limbs stuck closer to her body and her shoulder slumped in a pathetic attempt of making herself seem smaller. She was in the middle of her growing spurt: by this point, she was convinced she didn’t look like a nice girl anymore – no, she rather resembled a large, ugly, wounded brown bear. One that couldn't even perform a smiple task properly.

But that wasn’t the worst part. The voices –oh, the voices were driving her crazy. She didn't even need to see their faces. She recognized to whom each and every one of the verbal bullets belonged to. No amount of physical injuries could made her as hurt as much as their words did. It hurt so badly ... she just wanted it all to end, please end ... wouldn't it be mush easier to just end it all ...

I feel bad for Mr. Ursula. He's a smart man but he has to take care of such an incompetent child.
-o.

Stupid furry. Nobody likes you - I wouldn't even keep you as a pet.

-no.

You have no idea what you are doing. If you keep going on like that, you're going to end up dead - just like your mother!

NO! I'LL PROVE YOU ALL WRONG SO-

"-SHUT THE FUCK UP!"

The force of the shout was so strong, it managed to pull her back to the real world.

Terra quickly opened her eyes - her vision had become blurry. It had been years since something affected her to this degree.

Tears threatened to fall from her eyes, but she wouldn't let them. She wouldn't cry - she wouldn't show weakness in front of the enemy.

It took a few moments and several sharp, shaky breaths before the girl was finally able to stand back up. Battling her inner demons had phisically exhaused her, but Terra knew now wasn't the time to take things slow and wait for recovery. The enemy would soon be upon them.

Terra looked around, trying to determine whether or not her frien- teammates were alright. They were momentarily safe- it seemed someone had put up a barrier to protect them ... but that could only last for so long. She took in another deep breath, trying to calm her nerves. All that pain and suffering - it was all in the past. Things had changed. She had changed. And now it was time to prove it to everyone -but, most importantly, to herself.

Hymn of Fayth (Yunalesca) || Larisa’s CS File

A scream, while not a good thing was something that got them moving. Larisa snatched Reverence right off her back. In reality she wanted to take the moment to applaud Able on his design, her own while made by a verifiable experienced warrior was made with her younger teenage fighting style it was getting time to alter it along with her slightly tweaked style. Still she didn’t have that time to spend she could hardly open the weapon and strengthen her stance before the next set of screams came bursting forth. Banshees, something she’d heard of yet never herself experienced. Something that would leave massive waves of death behind if you were unlucky.

At first she began to shake, not in her own fear at least not that she would admit, but as a reaction to the pure waves of sound. But soon that was
stopped as her own body worked against her, try as she might she couldn’t move a muscle the only thing keeping her from dropping her weapon was the choking grip she’d maintained before the scream. Then came a dread, one she hadn’t felt in years. It brought her back to a time she’d been young and stupid, not once recognizing why Razdor was walled off. She was about to flare her aura in an attempt to escape yet stopped halfway as the visions kicked in.

Banshees brought out only the worst. The hidden fears you didn’t even know you had, it was something you didn’t want to know. What she saw was a dream, no a nightmare, it held her in place as she was but an observer. The disconnect and haze of being asleep, knowing it wasn’t real but feeling it viscerally cut down into your own soul. It didn’t matter that logically this couldn’t be what she was seeing because it cut her as deeply as if it was.

War was a terrible thing, yet unavoidable as well. The was always this separation that existed. It’s fine because it’s not affecting me. Should the world be plunged into a sea of blood she’d just as soon turn her back, but Razdor? Rasporia? The soft breeze of the winds from her childhood, the familiar forests that always ran the risk of the grimm coming to overtake them. Those memories were sacred, she’d give her life to protect it just as any Rasporian would.

Still she felt herself begin to scream as she saw nothing but bodies with familiar faces. Marina who’s bright red hair and fluffy tail were now drying as they were stained a russet brown as the blood pooled up around her. She’d never get to see her first festival outside the gates. Chandra, who didn’t even grow up in the Krugian lands but instead was found and saved who spent her whole life trying to repay that by saving others was now beheaded by a faceless stranger who held the emblem of Rasporia on their uniform. Her uncle, Lev, who was more pieces than actual body one of the first in at any sign of trouble and ready to fight tooth and nail even for strangers. And…

“STOP THIS. COME OUT AND FIGHT ME! YOU COWARDLY PIECE OF SHIT. FIGHT US! YOU THINK THIS WOULD MAKE YOU WIN? ALL THIS DOES IS MAKE ME ANGRY!”

Even as she changed her screams of terror and sorrow into her own roaring battle cry she couldn’t stop her own tears and the shaking of her hands. Desperate for a denial, needing to have a point of physical control. War would always come but she would be the one that kept her own kin standing. A mess, she was a mess but this was the trials that you faced.

And yet just as suddenly as the visions began they ended as she was knocked to the ground by a wave of water. In her own mind addled state she nearly mistook it for a wave of blood. But that didn’t hold. The haze was lifting as the realism left. Still the effects lingered. She took a moment to sob in relief as her own mind cleared realizing that there was an absolute certainty that her family was safe.

“Shield me, Guide me, Use my hands to do your will. For this I ask that my limits never be reached, that my aura hold up an air of protection. From Blood to Blood.”

She grabbed onto Reverence as she said her quick prayer for the strength to withstand. She opened the weapon to its full height. Her body still held the touch of fatigue from the emotional roller coaster she would never admit to even with it being plainly obvious, her weapon feeling heavier than ever. She took a deep breath in as she shaped her aura into a shield. After which she started to expand her qin letting a thin fog obscure the area around them along with making two fog mirrored images of herself hidden in the fog.

Even If Driven to the Wall || Seong’s CS File
Yup they were screwed. He’d barely spotted a blur as the figure came closer. His guard was too far down if he wasn’t making every use of his abilities, especially with the very little he’s managed to achieve with them. He’d angled himself in front of Faris who couldn’t be trusted to react in time. Though he supposed he shouldn’t be surprised that Faris asked for their name. They were however suppose to be here to protect civilians, which judging on the lack of gunshots at the moment meant that this woman was likely not. At least not unless Nicolai had managed to pull very far ahead very quickly.

He was barely able to really react to the woman before he’d found his sister, or at the very least one of her clones coming to stop the woman. And bingo, criminal. He’d called it, and yes that counts even if he did have behavioral training already from his sis. He started to take the opportunity to get moving with Faris but could he could hardly do that when they were getting blasted left and right.

Okay maybe that was an exaggeration but he’d seen Maniac coming forth and wanted no part in that. Granted he couldn’t very well leave his sister nor could he leave Faris unarmed. Retreat wasn’t an option when you didn’t know where the enemy was, much less what they could do. The clangs of the fight broke out as he helped his Faris to his feet. He whispered to his friend as he brought up his gun.

“We can either run, fight, or defend but if we run we may not get far and fighting head on with a Thinker of unknown strength isn’t a great idea either. Think we can try to trap him while Min gets them?”

He started to focus in on the battle either way. He secured his goggles and earmuffs making sure that he could quickly deal out shots with little interference. The moves slowed down in his head as his processing speed enhanced. He was certainly no mover and would still struggle to keep his body matching the pace but now his eyes and his mind were focused in and ready for battle. After all swirling shrapnel was just as much a threat as the maniac that would likely be causing havoc soon with the power of the blows exchanged. Around him he thickened his aura shielding himself and preparing to through himself in front of his friend who seemed to not have the sense of the oncoming battle.

It wasn't good to split up in such a manner but in the rush of the moment, he had forgotten that it only counted as working together when you worked with people in your designated team. Nic cursed silently under his hood, slowing down as he got closer to where the last shot rang. The cat boy was sure this was the spot, his already high sense of hearing boosted by his aura had ensured him he was at least in the zone. Oddly enough, there were no other shots fired which meant;
A. The shooter has been taken care of

B. The shooter accomplished their goal in one shot and escaped
or
C. Something far worse got in the way

Technically A and C were the same, but that was something he would get back on later. On his way here he had only seen one or two civilians fleeing the scene, he only needed to redirect one of them indirectly but beyond that, it seemed that most people that needed to get away got alway-- at least on this path he took. Still, the silence was unnatural and he approached cautiously, sneaking glances off into the distance before moving forward on foot. His ears twitched at the sudden sound of fluttering trailing him when he turned ready for an ambush he was greeted with a cluster of butterflies that had a familiar aura signature to it. Creator perhaps?
Now wasn't the time to admire the use of Qin. Nic shook his head and continued onwards, the butterfly swarm seemed to be moderating him more personally than Grand's clone had on the last mission but it didn't make that much noise. He had probably only noticed it from his senses being amplified and the small creation being near.

Other than that, it was still quiet. Nic pressed his back against the building, pulling down his hood to listen in for a sign.
Nothing.
He held his breath, turning the cover already raising an arm brimming with aura to defend against an invisible attack--
Nothing. Again.
Someone had gotten here first, that much he could tell from the mangled corpse tossed carelessly on the ground. Once he had verified this wasn't a trap, he moved in closer, setting his skateboard into quiver form on his back. From what he could tell right away was that this man was no civilian, something he could infer from the way the man was dressed and the ammo clip on his person. The man's body had been shattered from a high fall, prompting Nic to look up to the buildings around him trying to pinpoint which building would he had been tossed from in the angle he had landed.
"Hmm . . ." Nic raised an eyebrow at the corpse, using his aura to heighten his sight so he wouldn't have to move closer for a better look. The body's framed seemed to have been squeezed. "It wasn't the fall that killed him, something else did." He spoke out loud in the off chance that the butterfly their babysitter had sent could hear. "He was crushed . . . Almost like a snake's victim would be?"
So it was going to be a mix of A and C, something had taken care of the shooter but it was something far worse. Nic rose from his kneeling position, redistributing his aura to coat around his body defensively as he once again took in his surroundings. If he had anyone else with him they fled or died somewhere on the rooftops.

Kerym took a good few seconds to let the people she just met get antiquated to her. She is not exactly an easy sight and some people even start to panic. Not a few seconds later when Kerym was going to have an conversation one of those paladins she had spent the last 3 years getting to really know decided that surprising someone trying to politely converse was a great idea, as if her words could bring 4 years of training to the ground. Alas now the Paladin was... threatening her?

As any assassin knows having to do the complex motion of bringing the blade around the whole persons body takes time. Time that a killer cannot afford to let their opponent react to, many might overreact to a blade being at their throat but the seasoned Lamia knew that she was not looking to kill. A blade through the back of the throat or through the temple was much quicker and easier than holding someone up. Though while the Paladin was not looking to kill, she was looking to lecture. Making sure to state her name and be all professional with her words. After a bout of silence while Kerym compiled what quips she wanted to say in quick succession Mrs.Joan Law she was blasted with a telekinetic blast.

The agile Lamia make sure to take advantage of the blast. Using her quite heavy grip on the ground to quickly move under the blade and yanking her tail to knock Min off her footing before simply blinking away into the street below in one fluid movement. After all, why work when the 'skilled' paladins and their somewhat less skilled sentries can handle this just fine. Then when she gets back she can simply say that the problem was dealt with she can take the glory saying she organized both sides to fight in some maniacal scheme that she self orchestrated. The praise will be wonderful to have.
"And I only needed to crush one person to prove that I was there"
Kerym being sure to pat herself on the back even harder with her own ideas. It was ultimately the best situation for her. Of course there was one problem. There are no where near enough Lamias to make any sizable list of suspects besides her but maybe it would be best to leave a calling card. Returning to the slim alleyway that she tossed the corpse down Kerym found a small catboy looking at her victim.

A grim, lovely idea flew through her head. Joan Mc. Law was talking about how talking to the sentries would be terrible but what would be worse and just the best way to piss her off you may ask? Maybe if a sentry just happened to vanish she may just blow a fuse. After all since she was so acute on being a jackass to Kerym why should she hold back. Besides, who needs a calling card when you have a catboy in her possession. Unfortunately he happened to turn around while she was planning out what she wanted to do and it force her to be a bit more forward.

With a slick movement Kerym blink and grabbed Nic, a quick struggle both Kerym and the cat boi vanished.

Faris- Solemn.jpgA video on fast forward was hard to follow. Even if it was only sped up by 1.2 times, the conversations and subtle movements would be difficult to digest without conscious effort. That was how Faris feel on the roof. Everything went by quickly. Not so quickly it felt impossible, but fast enough for him to struggle.

Firstly, Min appeared at the roof. All right. The Mystic was a criminal. Good. Then An orange haired man attacked the Mystic and Miss Min and the Mystic took Nic away, breaking the thread he tied to the boy's wrist. ...what? Firstly the Mystic asked if he was alright then she proceeded to kidnap a sentry. Was he missing something? It didn't really fit but he didn't know why. Did he white out for a few seconds there? Missed a moment of provocation?

“We can either run, fight, or defend but if we run we may not get far and fighting head on with a Thinker of unknown strength isn’t a great idea either. Think we can try to trap him while Min gets them?”

Seong's word broke his train of thought. Right. Orange haired boy. Definite criminal, one he could do something about. Faris raised his arm. Chains slithered off his sleeve as he put his attention to the target.

"I can try. Encirclement to limit movement, maybe? His reaction speed is a bit fast for a snare, so a fence need to do. It's a fence, right? Chain, surrounding something... fence? Or gate?" a

Ah, it's a bit hard to concentrate. Faris shut his mouth once he realised he was saying nonsense again. Not good. Fighting exhausted was a bad idea.

Two long chains started to circle Miss Min and the orange haired boy on the rooftop, their momentum increasing as they spun. The two row became three as the circle shrunk, then four, until there were several layers of chain, spinning around at a high speed. Faris focused the orbit around the criminal. Raising it when he jumped, lowering when he crouched. His goal was simple; to slowly limit the movement, and to ensnare the criminal in chain.

The chain circled around, like a ring around a planet.

Parry Addiction || Min’s CS File
Cling. Cling. Cling. The melody was getting faster as it soon became metal against metal. They were certainly no slouches. It was taking all the clone’s focus to go toe to toe with them. She was keeping them within her sights at all times. The split the awareness of them all was a common and useful skill, but it had taken years to perfect keeping to a tempo in battle with it. Her blade was strong but it wasn’t meant for taking on pipes, especially this much as she couldn’t move in closer due to the range. She took a quick step back as she twirled narrowly out of the last attack.

A white hot anger flew through her as the criminal fled. Typical they start shit and leave paladins to clean up after them. Either way she had another situation at hand. At least that’s what she wanted to say. She felt the flare of another of her own Aura and the indignation of her main. She couldn’t leave the students though, and she’d never leave her brother. She worked to flare her aura in alternation with the second clone on the roof. As one launched an attack the other prepared to come in for another. Seeing the battle from two views also meant that it was increasingly hard to sneak up on her.

It’s for this reason she could tell the moment her students became active fighters. Seems they had made their choice. While she was expecting the chains she didn’t quite factor in how much this poor boy was pushing himself to his limits. She nearly found herself trapped in the links as well needing to shift back into butterflies in order to evade. Even then a fair few of the butterflies were trapped and smashed by the chain. The two clones fell back to reform, a few were fine but she couldn’t let that happen often.

She was just about to snag back up her blade as a whistle came from the peaks. Regroup? That was bad. She may be just a clone but she knew her own thought process well. A regroup would only be called for if the situation was now a danger to the students. While she wasn’t liking that the students had to step in on this fight it was in no way a looming danger. They would go against people of higher skill sets in their time as a Paladin. Ultimately there was no training such as practical training. She turned to find the last clone forming on the side. Oh, immediate regroup then.

“Change of situation all students are to regroup and minimize any other interactions with the district until further notice. You two are to be escorted back. This is not a discussion.”

She took up a blade with an expressionless and militaristic air as she charged the enemy. She would do everything in her power to not lose another student. When they returned to the academy they would be having a fair deal of words with the Valerie family as whatever happened to Nicolai now would be on their heads, and she had her own say so they would be red listed until the boy was returned.

    Insanity || Seong’s CS File
Seong figured that they could easily take on this guy after all they were once again just the distraction squad, which would come back to bite them later if these guys didn’t realize that hyper-specialization was crippling. Generally he’d prefer distracting but it was significantly harder at the range they had taken up. He could use the sniper but it was already a bulking gun. Once it was in motion he could redirect it but Min made that a challenge. After all even if that was just one of his sister’s clones he’d feel horrible if it hit her.

Honestly it was a challenge regardless as his qin was nothing more than supportive. While Min was always going on about how every qin could have offensive capability with enough creativity, he wasn’t creative dang it! His main strategy consisted of ‘shoot it, is it dead?, shoot it some more’ while he could make snap decisions and generally would consider himself smart he also was in no way collected when he was this close to the enemy. That’s why he loved his guns, if he was going to be constantly in range of these shits then he needed that modification fast.

He hadn’t expected to need to focus in on the snake. Looks like she was a mover, well whatever at least she left. He brought out his gun raising it up while walking back. He needed room if he was going to redirect this without it harming Min. Luckily Faris agreed with him and set up his chains. Uhhhh okay he still needed to be considered out of commission, usually he had a bit more finesse behind him.

It was still too dangerous to consider shooting at the two bouncing strike after strike against each other. The length of the pole made clear room between them but Min was fast and attempting to get in close, he was confident in his shooting ability but this was family he was gambling with. Still he couldn’t do nothing and thus he’d have to use his qin, it was the only way he could curve the bullet. He got ready to line up a shot when a whistle in the background happened. Before long it seemed like they were tagging out as a new Min took the place of the one fighting. The other two flanked him and Faris.

    “Fine by me.”

He got closer to Faris orbiting him worried that he would become unsteady again. He didn’t put away the gun though as they’d need to be aware if the situation had gotten worse. Part of him wanted to say something to the taller man but now was not the time, even if he wasn’t okay they’d have to keep moving. At the very least he was going to be there to catch him if he went down again.
