"Growf!"
Inspired by the legend of King Arthur and Mad Max
Skydark. (Somewhere in the mid 2030’s) It was the end of civilization as we knew it and the beginning of a new Dark Age. It had been about 50 years since that time. Today the world resembles something out of a Mad Max movie as gangs and villes led by barons wage war on the steppe deserts and roads - what is left of them - in war machines salvaged from the auto wrecks of the past. Gasoline or diesel - or whatever passes for it - is a precious commodity.
About 10 years ago a Sword in a Stone was discovered. The stone appeared to be carved from granite and resembled a monument. Set into the wall beyond the Stone was a large plaque. On the plaque was an inscription that read:
“Whosoever can draw the Sword shall be Worthy to Rule.”
Over time wars were fought over the region where the monument lay. But noone could hold the region for long. Eventually it was declared a neutral zone and the site of Thunderdome.
In the Thunderdome knights and lords wage single combat rather than wasting the lives of their men - for the right to try to draw the Sword. Thus far, noone has yet succeeded to even make it budge. Tournaments often end in bloodbath feuds.

I will need knights, Lords, bangers (basically just mercs/soldiers who serve lords), as well as Mechs, Techs and Healers. I will caution you that Techs, Mechs and Healers are NOT free. Or if they are they had better hide their abilities or end up enslaved by a Lord.
The group may create a single gang / ville. Or be a bunch of road trash. Or a combination.

This is basically an Aurthurian scenario played out in a Mad Max setting.
