•Background:
Nabrina is a Rutian Twi'lek, with her skin being of bright blue hues. She has tattooed her lekku and even part of her face with ornate, black stripes. The marauding Twi'lek was born with large, verdant eyes in a rounded, noble face. Her skin is otherwise plain and unadorned by the phenotype markings that sometimes occur among her kind. However, her lower body is a mess of scars from a violent incursion that took both her legs from the knee down. These have been replaced with cybernetic prosthetics.

One would think that being born into a life of slavery and servitude would yield a docile and compliant nature from a being. Nabrina is a fiery contradiction to that notion. All her young life, the Twi'lek was constantly admonished by her master, a Duros by the name of Farrin Kaast. Nabrina was brutally punished by her handlers for her stubborn and spiteful disobedience on a regular basis. When she finally claimed her freedom by killing her master, Nabrina left his other slaves locked in their pens. To this day, she bears a callous and cold contempt towards those that do not fight for their freedom and allow themselves to be lorded over. Nabrina particularly despises her own Twi'lek people, on the whole. She sees them as weaklings, as many Twi'lek are kept as slaves the galaxy over.

Nabrina was born on Tattooine to her mother, Siloo. Being a slave herself, Siloo’s infant was born into the same shackles. Before her first breath, Nabrina had already been claimed as property. She was quickly weened from her mother's side, and as barely a fledgling was thrust into the ugly market of the slave trade. Nabrina was victim to terrible inflictions and vulgarities that one so young should never have to suffer. She was eventually traded to a long term master, a Duros crime boss by the name of Farrin. The Twi'lek slave was taken to Nal Hutta, where Farrin had his base of operations. Nabrina was exposed to the various dealings of the underworld and picked up many languages, as is the affinity of her species. She also cultivated an education in black market trade by listening in on the conversations had by her master and his company, as they were well-known dealers in the underworld. Slowly but surely, Nabrina ascended herself to a position of informal prominence in Farrin's company. While still regarded as a slave, she was also given a degree of authority over fledgling members of the organization. She served as an extension of Farrin’s word and had learned to handle a blaster in order to better accomplish her tasks. Oftentimes, Nabrina was party to a retinue of Farrin’s hired thugs as they undertook various shady dealings as far as Nar Shaddaa.

As the life of most small-time underworld bosses go, Farrin would eventually see his small empire in ruin. As rival gangs amassed and cooperated to make a unified raid into the Duros' territories, Farrin sent out every soldier and goon under his command in a desperate gambit to survive. Seeing an opportunity to escape her life as a slave, Nabrina stuck a knife in the Duros' back while the first of the rival gangers breached his underworld stronghold. With few legitimate skills, and the affiliation to the criminal element still hovering over her, Nabrina sought to sell her talent in the only way that seemed possible. She eventually joined up with Weequay pirates, a move that sent her down the path that would eventually have her commanding her own vessel. Now as the captain of the Drexl's Grudge, the Twi'lek pirate marauds the trade routes of Hutt Space and the vast Outer Rim territories. Nabrina has built on her knowledge of the underworld, and established herself as an associate to all kinds of criminal organizations. Most prominent of her affiliations are the Hutt Cartel and the Exchange. Nabrina plays a dangerous game trading between the two, as the organizations are heated rivals. Her endeavors have been a mix of success and failure, with the loss of her legs being one of the more egregious examples of the pirate captain's mishaps.

Name: Gedel Norz
Species: Human (Cyborg)
Affiliation: Pirates, formerly (secretly) ties to Hutt Cartel and currently The Exchange (although only as a go-between).
Height: 6'1
Weight: 190 lbs.
Eye Color: Glossy Black (they're obvious cybernetics)
Hair Color: Black
Skin Color: Pale white
DOB: 253 ABM
•Planet of Origin/Birth: A Hutt pleasure station orbiting Nar Shaddaa that is currently a debris field.
•Languages Spoken:
  • Galactic Basic (Expert)
  • Huttesse (Expert)
  • Gedel can read most common languages due to a translation feature in his cybernetics, but doing so requires enough concentration that it wouldn't let him do so well enough to communicate with them in real time.
  • Gedel knows exactly enough Wookie to beg for his life and for his limbs to remain attached due to an incident he'd rather not talk about.
Occupation: Appraiser, accountant, accomplice.
Skills:
  • Appraisal of art, raw materials, trade goods, standard equipment, and any unique items that have been recorded. (Expert, although rarer or more variable items take a while due to him needing to use his cybernetics)
  • Accountancy, mainly revolving around money laundering and otherwise hiding credits (Expert, although Gedel will need to use his cybernetics for anything more complicated than basic memory or math done on the spot)
  • Slicing: (Practiced when using his cybernetics. Without them Gedel is still quite skilled at using computers, but anything too far from a basic model will take much longer.)
  • Linguistics (Expert when it comes to using his cybernetics for translation of writing. Otherwise he's at Amateur with anything other than Galactic Basic or Huttesse)
  • Knife-wielding (Practiced. Don't expect him to throw them, but Gedel is a surprisingly effective close-range combatant with a vibroknife.)
  • Firearms affinity (Amateur. Gedel is competent enough to shoot someone in the back or spray and pray without going completely out of control.)
  • Piloting (Bad enough to be worth mentioning. Gedel should never be put in charge of driving a cart, let alone piloting a ship.)
Personality Traits: Pragmatic, greedy, compartmentalized, flexible.
Background:
Gedel is a Human cyborg. His abnormally pale body is covered in intricate Huttesse tattoos proclaiming the greatness of those who can truly appreciate art that were inked into his skin by his former owner. He's grown out his hair, but the heavy cyborg augmentation on his head is obvious no matter what angle you look at him from. His eyes and the area around them are fully mechanical, with a protective casing fitted around his head. Gedel wears a full-body suit most of the time though, so most often that suit is his most distinctive feature.

Vat-grown as a custom slave for the upstart and ultimately short-lived Hutt crime lord Jrerisa the Collector, Gedel's body was designed to be added to. Surgeries dominated his childhood as implants were added and adapted for his body as he grew. And during that time he was taught what his place was. Jrerisa wanted property that could understand the value of property and that was to be Gedel's fate. His days were spent studying everything from market rates to rare art and by the time he was fully grown his cybernetic implants had allowed him to become a repository of financial understanding.

Unfortunately for Jrerisa, Gedel learned far more than the Hutt realized. From the other slaves on the station Gedel learned that for him to be owned was not the owner the Hutt claimed it was. From Jrerisa Gedel learned of the power and pleasure that could come from the accumulation of wealth. From the mercenaries who served the Hutt Gedel learned that one could set the price for one's own skills. And from there it was not difficult to decide his next course of action, especially with the strange 'hunches' that kept pointing Gedel in the right direction to gain his freedom.

Jrerisa's refusal to care how the artifacts they collected were acquired led to their downfall as messages were sent letting a number of powerful entities know who was in possession of their stolen treasures. The Hutt's space station pleasure palace was soon under attack and it was clear the end was near. For all those on board except for Gedel that is, since he'd ensured he was on Nabrina Sici ship 'ensuring the authenticity' of a rare Twilek statuette at the time of the attack. From there the ship fled, carrying Gedel, and every valuable unlisted item he'd been able to strap to his body before getting on board.

Understanding that his life might not last beyond the last valuable being taken off his body, Gedel managed to leverage his appraisal and accounting skills into a position on Nabrina's ship. His ability to drain a substantial amount of credits from Jrerisa's bank accounts convinced Nabrina to let him live long enough to prove his worth. Gedel currently works for her on the understanding that she holds his life in her hands but his life is otherwise his own. Right now he's focused on amassing personal wealth and finding a way to leverage his current position for more power. He's also nursing a crush on Captain Sici, although he's smart enough not to let her know that. They've been together for several years now and he's more than earned what passes for her trust.

Equipment:
  • Armor Corporation Combatant Environmentally Sealed Suit (see below)
  • Vibroknife
  • Holdout Blaster
  • Ion Blaster

Armor Name: Armor Corporation Combatant Environmentally Sealed Suit
Manufacture: Originally created by the Armor Corporation to protect soldiers on Quesh, this environmental suit's ability to be mass produced quickly led to worlds dealing with conflicts in hazardous areas bought them as fast as they were made. They were just as quickly dropped when it was discovered that a defect in the suits resulted in the wearer's eyes drying out and atrophying with long-term use. Currently they're incredibly cheap and easy to buy due to there being very few beings who can safely use them. Each part of it is interchangeable and can easily be replaced and an industrial fabricator can easily
Model: Mark V, the last model produced. Mark V parts are backwards compatible with Marks I-IV, but the difference is noticeable and the Mark Vs are the most common.
Type: Body Armor
Details: A full-body durasteel-plated environmental suit with removable gloves and helmet. It's no more protective than normal body-armor, but does provide protection from environmental effects and can filter air. Gedel wears it to conceal his tattoos (which would draw unwanted scrutiny) and his paranoia regarding his own safety. His cyborg eyes are immune to the suit's atrophying effects and he's bought enough backups to last him through several firefights.
