Ashley-May looked up as the woman came into the store room behind her, she stayed quiet, wide eyed for a moment until she realized the other woman could see her. "Mac?" She spoke into the phone. "There's someone here." She didn't know how this person could have found her so quickly, most of the colony was still fast asleep; not even the Lunch Ladies were up at this point.

Phone still on the seat beside her Mac had the card in gear and was backing out of the driveway before Will even had the door closed. Shifting the Beast into gear she stomped on the gas, making the tires screech for traction on the paving stone, Beast fishtailing slightly until it caught and launched forward. Mac dragged the phone back to her ear in time to hear Ash say she wasn't alone. "Do you know who it is? Have you seen them before?" She glanced to Will as he questioned where she was going. "Rec center." She answered quickly, listening to Ash's reply. "She's not alone, someones there, she doesn't know who they are."

Mac, Will and Addy were not far via car to the center, hurtling the car around back; Mac was aware of Ash's secret, she didn't bother turning off the engine or even doing anything beyond stuffing it into park once they arrived. She reached beneath the seat, dragging forward a small bag. Flipping open the straps at the top she reached within to fish out her knife.

"Whoah, whoah, whoah, hey!" Ginny yelps, putting her hands up in a placating manner. "It's just me, not here to hurt you, promise!"

William was forcing the door of the Beast open before the vehicle came to a complete stop, drawing the pistol from his waistband and rushing toward the back door of the rec center. Stopping just short, he didn't spare a moment to glance behind him at Adelaide and Mackenzie before forcing the still-ajar door open with his left hand, immediately leaning around the corner to scan the inside of the darkened storeroom from the threshold before proceeding inside, years of training flowing to the surface. "Ash!" he called out as he crossed through the threshold, finding two figures just inside. One was the young woman -- Ginny -- that he had spoken to earlier. The other was Ash, laying in the floor near a blood-soaked body.

Will brought the handgun up, centering it on Ginny's torso. "Move and you're dead," he said. "Ash, stay there," he said without taking his eyes from Ginny, knowing that Ashley-May couldn't make it to him without coming within arm's reach of the woman.

Adelaide followed behind Mac, having retrieved a knife from her duffel, standing at the threshold of the storeroom as she watched the scene unfold.

Ginny gasps, hearing him, and staying very still, keeping her hands up. "Okay, I know this looks bad, but I just got up. I had nothing to do with this, I swear on my life." Sometimes she forgets that neither the knife nor the bullet will actually kill her. Still, it would be really bad if they realized that it didn't.

Ashley-May watched Ginny in partial terror and confusion, she tensed not sure what she could do, or say really; she didn't at all seem upset with the dead man in the room. Ash was thankful she Mac still had the phone with her, she could already hear the Beast rumbling closer. "Ju..just stay away."

Will was soon stepping through the threshold, pointing her gun at Ginny. Ash nodded as he commanded her to stay where she way, biting her lip. It took everything in her not to look at Joe, the thought of him brining another whine from her. A second behind Will Mac was pushing her way through the doorway, Addy directly behind her.

Mackenzie turned her dark eyes briefly to asses Ginny before slipping behind Will and making her way to Ash, stepping over Joe. "Shh Ash," Mac said, tucking the blade away. She stepped closer to her partner as she broke out into a sob. She knelt down beside Ash, hands immediately tracking over her legs and upwards. Any where Mac saw blood she was touching. "Tell us what happened."

Ash sniffed then spoke. "I came to make coffee and I saw Joe's car. I knew he'd been helping on around the colony where he could. He even delivered supplies to the Clinic. I came in to talk to him but the lights were out and I tripped...." She started to cry again. Mac reached out and pulled Ash against her, letting the other woman cling to her. She looked back over her shoulder to Will. "She's not hurt."

William breathed a sigh of relief when he heard that Ashley-May was unharmed, though he kept the gun leveled at Ginny. It seemed a stretch to believe that she was simply in the wrong place at the wrong time, but he was hardly going to chance killing an innocent young woman on a hunch. Luckily, they didn't have to guess. "Addy," he muttered under his breath. Adelaide nodded, stepping forward to close the distance between herself and Ginny. Will held out a protective arm to try and stop her from moving any closer toward Ginny, but Adelaide shrugged it away as she stepped closer still.

"Don't move, I'm not going to hurt you. If you're telling the truth, you have nothing to worry about," Adelaide remarked calmly, reaching out to gently take the girl's hand in her own and closing her eyes as Will watched anxiously. Images, emotions, and memories -- all flashed through her head in an instant, but muddled and indistinct -- especially those farther back... but she saw enough. With a slight gasp, she released her hold on Ginny's hand and stepped back slowly, Will holding out his hand to steady her.

"She's telling the truth: she didn't kill him," Adelaide murmured. "...But she's not human. You've run-ins with Hunters before, haven't you?" she asked softly, looking at Ginny curiously.

Will lowered the gun slightly. "What are you?"

Ginny is frozen in terror when she hears what Adelaide says, her immediate instinct being to run. Just get as far away as possible, and never look back. She starts shaking, staying where she is with her hands up.

"P-please…" she whispers, tearing up as she stares at the woman in front of her. Her accent is much stronger now, as she can't focus on hiding it. It's hard enough to speak English in the first place with this level of panic. "Please don't kill me too…"

upload_2017-7-19_0-28-37.jpeg upload_2017-7-19_0-28-47.jpeg
Adelaide, seeing Ginny break down, shook her head. She could tell this was no act to inspire pity. She gently placed her hand on William's wrist, nudging the gun downward. Will complied, reluctantly lowering the weapon but keeping it in his hand. However, the young woman's accent -- nearly non-existent before -- had caught his ear with its familiarity.

Taking a deep breath, he said, "'ana ln tuadhiyaka. tukhbiruna min 'ant." (I will not hurt you. Tell us who you are.) He hadn't spoken Arabic in years -- not since he'd been discharged, in fact, but the linguistics lessons were coming flooding back to him now. He hoped Ginny -- or whoever she, it was -- would respond to her mother tongue more readily.

She seems slightly less scared now, though if they weren't blocking the door, chances are she'd be running. "Aismi shafuqta. Aibnat Fatin wafardusa. 'ana jiinan." (My name is Shafqat. Daughter of Faten and Firdaus. I am a djinn.) She replies, still scared to turn around and face him, but she drops the little disguise that she's able to manage, bright blue eyes shining in the darkness.

Chase had taken the bed once again at Emile's suggestion. The man had been awake for nearly an hour now, but hadn't moved. Instead Chase was staring at the ceiling of the cabin in a moment of small reflection but mostly in laziness. The roof had boards, one in particular near the corner above the loft had a dark spot. The spots covered all of the boards however this one had a shape and pattern that reminded him of a baseball. In the moment he was remembering the times when he was young where he and Joe would give one a toss, this was the only time he really got to since he wasn't allowed to play in sports. Not to mention the moments where Joe would tease him by tossing the ball far too high for him to catch. Fetch. Joe would say with the biggest grin, just to get under Chase's skin.

Chase snorted briefly as he pushed himself to sit and toss his legs over the bed, stretching as he stood before making his way to the ground floor. The cabin had been quiet so he knew nobody was inside, and one peek through the glass on the cabin door had him spotting the large wolf sleeping on the front porch. Chase shook his head at the sight, wondering how he slept on such a surface then proceeded into the kitchen.

Emile had made breakfast the morning before, and at the time Chase had thought little of it and assumed he was being a decent host. Yet Morgan had stated otherwise. He'd thought about this whilst digging out some food from the fridge and gathering a pan or two to start cooking. It was hard for Chase to explain to himself exactly why he was cooking breakfast. A part of him was saying that he was just returning the favor, another that he was saying thanks for what he was doing. If Emile decided to take it as Chase's way of flirting back, well, he wasn't going to tell the Alpha how to feel.

Once he finished with the food Chase walked back over to the door and opened it with a smile, "C'mon fluffy." Chase spoke with a partial mumble whilst chewing a piece of bacon, one hand still on the door. "Breakfast is ready." Feeling he'd spoken loud enough to wake the wolf he turned and headed back towards the kitchen area leaving the door wide open for Emile.

Mackenzie watched Will and Addy first inspect then speak to the interloper in a language she didn't recognize; she felt they were falling away from the matter at hand. Ash still cried in her arms, though she seemed calming down now, Mac didn't want Ash here along longer than necessary, but she had a job to do. "Adelaide." She called stiffly. "Can you take Ash to the clinic? Get the nurses there to take a look at her, tell them to call the doctor to come here." They couldn't keep this covered up, they needed to act on it quickly or the killer would get away and the colony would panic.

She turned back to Ash and spoke softly, the other woman nodding. Mac stood helping Ash to her feet. The two shuffled in the low light back towards the door Will and Addy still occupied. Ash did as she was instructed, keeping her eyes on Mac and not looking anywhere else. Bodies never bothered her really, she had killed plenty, but the fact that it was Joe, someone she had started to build a bond with, and fueled by Nephilim hormones there was no stopping the tears.

Emile had been dozing lightly in the first signs of light. He was aware that Chase was awake within the house and walking around but had made no move to get up. He was exhausted, having spent most of the night trailing the demons scent all over the woods and coming up dry. It bothered him it had managed to get this close to the pack without notice, which could only mean it was an elite demon.

Hearing the door open and Chase utter his good morning Emile's senses were overwhelmed by the scent of cooked food. He rose and stretched as he shifted, the transition coming naturally as ever without second thought. Rising to his feet he grabbed the pair of jeans he had left hanging over the rail the night before and stepped into them. "Morning Sunshine." Emile grinned, knowing he would have to thank Morgan later for the English tips. Turning to face Chase once more, he pulled his light cotton shirt over his tattooed chest, smile ever present. "You see?" He nodded past Chase into the house at the scent of breakfast. "We make you in to a good mate yet." He winked at the younger man playfully. Knowing Chase had made breakfast, for him no less, was appealing. Not only did it indicate to Emile that the man was growing comfortable with being in the packs company, but that he may even be reciprocating some level of bonding with the Alpha. Emile had yet to determine if it were anything more than friendship, but he was ever the patient wolf.

Tracking the Seer down had been the easiest part, the deity had been suprised to find that the man had actually died in battle, and made it into Asgard, more specifically Fólkvangr. The field ruled over by the exquisite Freyja, one of the greatest of the Norse gods, and she had been more than happy to help him. The Seer had been brought before him at once. Oddly enough, he resembled Odin, Thor though, albeit much less imposing.

Thor gazed out over the magnificient golden towers that spiralled up towards the sky, with snow-capped mountains in the distance, and below him where fields of green and great rivers as blue as sapphires. The halls of the gods where situated on a plateu high up in the very heart of Asgard, it's grandeur and sheer scale dwarfed only by the size of the plateu, that soared thousands of meters above the ground.

The Seer looked up at the god that stood twice as tall as him. In awe, but clearly unafraid. The Seer smiled and bowed, Thor who was eager to continue his search for the Well simply said "I have come to undertake the journey you once took.". The Seer looked up and met his gaze "You must know, your wit will be tested before being granted access to the wisdom of the Well.". Thor simply waved his hand dismissively.

The Seer took the hint and swiftly continued "You will find the path to it at the furthest tip of it's second great root, close to the headwaters of Vergelmer.". As fun as it was to travel the skies with Tanngrisnir and Tanngnjóstr, he wanted to get there as fast as possible. And luckily he knew exactly where he was going. And that was lucky indeed.

A common misconception was that Yggdrasil was the cosmos itself in the Norse gods' plane of existence, something that was true, but what many did not know was that Yggdrasil was also a massive ash tree that had been the first living thing ever created by Odin, Vili and Ve in Asgard. From which much life had sprung. It was over three thousand meters high, and finding the small entrance was almost impossible if you didn't know exactly where to look, for the roots extended for many kilometers in all directions.

The next second Thor appeared where the Seer had told him to go. Several kilometers away, he could see Yggdrasil soaring towards the skies, it's crown as magnificient and as large as a city. But he had not come for what was in the crown, he had come for what could be found beneath it's roots. Knowing that he was in the right place, Thor raised his hand and muttered "Hvað er falin, býð ég þér að sanna.". The world glimmered around him as he dispelled any illusions that could be found in his immediate proximity, and true enough, there was one. Thor cursed, fifteen meters to his left he was an arch that led into the roots themselves. That wasn't what had made him curse however, that was the fact that his path was blocked by a thirty feet tall warrior of metal, adorned by runes imbued with protective magic so powerful that Thor figured the one who was behind it was his father. In it's hands it held a massive mace, and judging by the magic that protected the Colossus, he had no doubt that it was capable of killing even gods.

The warrior spoke, with a loud rumbling voice that reminded Thor of a raging storm;

"To pass, a riddle you must answer, and a sacrifice you must make." The Colossus then raising a hand, it's metal arm moving as smoothly as if it had been made of flesh, and pointed at a shrine next to the arch.

It continued "What always runs, but never walks, often murmurs, never talks, has a bed, but never sleeps, has a mouth, but never eats?"

Thor seethed, he was not stupid, but his mind had never among the sharpest. Then suddenly he felt reminded by the presence of a heavy metal object hanging in his belt. Dark clouds began to gather as he gripped it, and the god allowed himself a small smile before letting out a thundering warcry as he charged towards the Colossus.

Adelaide nodded at Mackenzie's order, giving Ashley-May a concerned once-over as she approached, eyes locked on her partner. As they neared the door, Addy gently stepped forward to drape her arm gently across Ash's shoulder, guiding her out of the rec center's back door and towards the Clinic.

William's muscles tensed involuntarily as the eyes of Ginny -- Shafqat -- flared in the darkness of the storeroom. A Djinn -- he had never hunted one before, though he knew Elijah and Shaw both had in the past. They were rife with depictions in Arabian and Islamic mythology. The genie part -- granting wishes and such -- was bunk so far as he knew. The Djinn were predators, with natural magic of their own. They poisoned the minds of humans, bled them dry over the course of days or weeks to feed. That was reason enough to be wary of Ginny... but not to kill her outright. They could talk about her place in the Colony later. Hendrix holstered the pistol. "Stick around. We'll have questions," he said in a tone that made it clear it was no request. Her reaction would determine much about how the Colony would treat her from here on out.

Will turned toward Joe's body, raising a hand to his chin as he slowly approached the corpse. Kneeling down alongside him, he pressed a hand to his forehead, eyes shut as a pang of guilt the likes of which he hadn't felt in years shot through his core. Checking for a pulse was pointless; William had seen more than enough bodies to know that Keaton had expired at least a couple of hours ago.

Chase had been at the kitchen counter gathering up his share of the food into a plate and couldn't help but groan and roll his eyes at being called Sunshine, but he'd started this by calling Emile Fluffy so to be fair he asked for it. Turning around with the full plate and yet another piece of bacon present in his mouth he was face to face with Emile pulling on a shirt. The Alpha's comment had him pause his chewing with a scowl and half-tempted to toss the food at his face but instead maneuvered around the other man to take a seat at the table.

"Yup. That's one way to prevent me from ever making food for you again by comparing me to some plain Jane housewife." His tone was serious despite the fact that he was going along with the sarcastic banter. "Or.." Chase had to pause after the word and swallow, "Next time you'll just have wolves-bane in your portions." Chase smiled innocently at the false threat of poisoning the other man, sitting back in his chair whilst picking at his plate with one hand.

Reaching into his pocket he pulled out his cellphone, having grabbed it this morning since he'd had to leave it on charge last night because he'd neglected it and let it go dead since he'd been here. A new text from Joe was on his screen, despite it having Will's name as the contact blinked on the screen. Chase read through it and huffed while holding it below the table, though not trying to hide it but planning to simply check it and put it away. His brow would furrow as he went on reading about Andy, whom he'd never forgotten, and wondering what the hell his father was doing.

In the moment he wanted the return text to be to do what needed to be done but instead simply sent, I'll ask. Finally putting the phone away he finally looked back up at Emile, "You'd know more about it than I would, so do you know of anyway to get rid of the blood-lust after consuming human hearts?" He asked rather emotionless, currently having little reason to otherwise. The text had brought down what had been a good mood from the morning to a decent one.

Jordan spread his arms wide and inhaled the air "Ah, how good it feels to be in.... Tokyo." Jordan raised an eyebrow at the Hypnos. " This isn't Kyoto, I know they sound similar but one is where a Kitsune is being trapped and the other is Tokyo." Jordan smoothed his hair back " Fine fine, we'll get there ourselves... just make sure your friend is there to help with the seal ~"

She nods, and Activates her disguise again, seeing how wary he is of her. "Fine." She says softly, her accent still prominent as she doesn't care about hiding that from him. She crosses her arms, sighing sadly as she watches.

"I don't suppose you'll let me help?" She says after a moment. "I'm no wolf, but I've got a pretty good sense of smell. Then again, I suppose you have no reason to trust me at this point." She murmurs, still a bit tense, but not trying to run or attack him when his back is turned. So there's that.

Ashley-May gave Adelaide a rather weak smile as the woman did as Mackenzie had bid her and walked with her to the clinic. "I'll be fine," She said shakily. "It's the pregnancy, making me insane." She understood why Mac had stayed behind; there wasn't a chance that she would let this slip out of her fingers. "I'm sorry Mac's bossing you around, but.... that's just Mac." She was trying to distract herself, keep herself of thinking how sad he felt for Chase, knowing what she did and that he was away. She hoped he would give up his mission in the pack and come home; she wanted to make sure that he would be okay.

William seemed satisfied enough with Ginny but Mac certainly had been left out of the loop. With Adelaide and Ash now out of sight and hopefully safer she turned back to the young woman that happened to wander into the scene. Once more Mac regarded her coolly, keeping a fair distance but herself between Ginny and Will as he turned to inspect Joe. She knew she wouldn't be able to asses much from the scene beyond the fact that the man had been killed and possibly how it had been done.

"So what are you, exactly?" Mac had not missed the eerily blue glow of the woman's eyes just moments before. "And why are you here. You know this is a colony full of hunters. We kill things like you, why bother coming here?" Mackenzie blinked as she hear a tune behind her, she glanced back to Joe before up to William, what were the odds that was Chase?

Emile continued to smirk, despite Chase's serious tone and features; whether or not the younger man was playing into the game or seriously offended it was difficult for Emile to tell. English was far from this native tongue. He watched Chase wander to the table, plate full of food, chewing on the bacon. He had to admit the cocky and attractive wolf made him far more flirtatious than he typically was. It had been years since Emile had considered even playful banter with anyone of interest, and Chase was certainly interesting. He laughed as he stacked his plate with food, Chase's threat of wolves-bane not taken seriously.

He came to sit at the table opposite where Chase was seated, head tilted aside as Chase questioned returning from madness. He grunted and leaned back in his chair; well aware that Chase wasn't effected by this malady he was no doubt requesting the information for another, likely a friend of his, needing assistance. "Not alone." He stated simply, taking a piece of bacon and biting it in half. Chewing he contemplated the answer. "Désintoxication is long. Pour each coeur, er heart consumed, three mois of isolment. Mais even that. Most wolf die. Once you eat heart to crave it, demand it. Think of nothing else." He stuffed the remainder of the bacon into his mouth; this was not a topic he wanted to have with Chase, fear of it leading into questions he did not want to answer.

After starting at his plate for a few moments of silence he looked back to Chase. "Your friend will need pack to live. They will not survive alone." He inhaled, dragging a hand through his silver hair as he considered. Being this far south it was less than ideal to try and handle a mad wolf going through detox, and with such a large human population, he didn't like the odds of what would happen. Too many variables that could compromise his pack, but he knew he couldn't leave a human heart eating wolf out there. "You tell me who wolf is?" He asked. "I speak to them, see if we can save?" He was aware if he couldn't save the wolf he would have to end the beast before insanity set in.

Ginny huffs, looking over at Mac. "Believe me, I'm perfectly aware of what hunters are capable of." She says, bitterness clear in her tone. She sighs, trying to control her temper. "In fact, I suppose I have hunters to thank for making me come here. They're the reason I have no one else to turn to." She looks at the ground. "I'd hoped to last a bit longer but… well, it doesn't matter what I wanted."

She looks up at her. "Anyway. As to what I am, I'm a djinn. And before anyone asks, I haven't stopped aging yet. So no surprises there."

Adelaide shook her head at Ashley-May's apology for her partner's behavior. "She's worried about you," she said. Addy paused for a moment before adding, "You don't have to be, you know. 'Fine', that is. You just went through something traumatic: no one will blame you for taking some time to deal with it however you need to." Seeing the Clinic in the distance, she asked, "He was a friend of yours?"

upload_2017-7-19_21-42-28.jpeg
William largely ignored the conversation between Mackenzie and Ginny, tracing the sound of a phone to Joe's pocket. He gingerly fished the device out, unlocking the screen to see a message from Chase. Another pang of guilt spiked through his heart. I'll ask. Will frowned, glancing back through the previous texts to find the context for Chase's response. He found it immediately: Joe had asked his son about information concerning managing a werewolf's bloodlust at the behest of someone named Andy. That was something to go on at the very least: a possible suspect. Turning around, he looked to his girlfriend. "Mac," he said, to get her attention before tossing the phone to her with the message still on the screen.

Turning back toward Joe's body, he examined the man. After scrutinizing the bloodied shirt he wore, he found that there were no visible signs of trauma on the front of his body to be found. Gently grabbing hold of his shoulders to turn him over and pull the crumpled up jacket away, he found that the same couldn't be said of his back. Though difficult to make out through the sickening amount of spilled blood, Will soon found a stab wound on his lower right abdomen. The medical training in him told Will that there was no shortage of vital organs and blood vessels in that area to be compromised, namely the kidneys and the oxygen-carrying renal artery attached to them, which would explain the rapid and major blood loss. The dark coloration of some of the blood closer to the wound site made him suspect the liver may have been damaged, though that could very well be due to the time it spent exposed to the air after Joe's death.

Will turned his attention to Joe's hands -- both soaked in blood, along with his jacket, which had been hastily removed and used as a makeshift pressure dressing. He had tried to manage the blood loss, likely up until the moment he lost consciousness. Looking around the room, William saw no major signs of a scuffle... though it was hard to tell with the blood and tell-tale signs of a man experiencing his death throes. Joe had been ambushed, stabbed once in the back, and left for dead.

Ashley-May appreciated Addy's understanding when it came to Mac, more so because she knew Addy and Will were once a thing; it couldn't be easy walking into a place and finding out last minute. She didn't know if Addy still had feelings for Will or not, but it wasn't something she would pry into.... Yet. "He was, sort of. He helped me and Mac get Eli to the clinic in time. Then sat with while he donated blood." She gave a slight shrug, hand rising to wipe away a tear rolling down her cheek. "He gave me some great dad advice." She said with a sad smile.

Djinn. Mackenzie didn't know what that was but clearly Will didn't seem concerned. Ginny went on about how terrible hunters were, no doubt looking for sympathy but Mac had none to offer; she'd seen enough in her life to know you made your own choices regardless of what happened to you. Before she could as as much Will caught her attention. She caught the phone easily and read the message her left displayed. "Shit."

Of course Chase and Joe would keep another wolf secret and one that had been consuming no less. She read through the texts again before speaking. "It's not in the colony, but it will need to be dealt with." She knew Chase had just messaged his father and she paused. "What are we doing about Chase?" She looked back at Will.

Chase watched the older man curiously as he started to explain how one came back, surprised there was even a way. There were plenty of surprises for him these days, he realized. He tried to be patient when Emile started speaking French though he'd always give the man a look as if to tell him to translate, though Emile usually did on his own. "Mois? Isolment?" Chase repeated the word he lacked an understanding of with likely horrible pronunciation, "Months of isolation?" It was a close guess but he had to be sure he'd heard it right.

He'd paused his eating while the conversation changed, the gears in his head grinding with the knew information. Though when Emile explained her only chance was for Andy to join the pack he couldn't help but cock an eyebrow in confusion. The Alpha followed up with a clearly hesitant offer to speak and bring her into the pack which had Chase finally reaching to finish his food. The gesture was decent but honestly he wasn't sure how this whole pack and Vitae thing was going to end and if he'd be in good standing with the wolves. Leaving Andy in there care wasn't exactly the best plan, but if she was going down that path and this was her only option other than a bullet...

Chase huffed, having not felt a reply from Joe buzz his leg he wasn't sure how to proceed. "Her names Andy, friend of the family I guess, teenager, not a fan of packs." Despite the tone of the conversation he flashed a smile, "Remind you of anyone?" Once it faded he continued, "My dad and I set her up with a life after she lost her uncle, didn't want a wolf in the foster care system." Chase shook his head, "You might want me there if you really plan to speak to her, she at least knows me and if Joe being in contact gives any indication...might trust me." He especially needed to be there if Joe was possibly going to be involved. With Emile's promise he trusted the Alpha around his father to an extent, however trusting Joe around Emile was a different story. Werewolf, Alpha, and one who was actively flirting with Chase. Yep, Joe would put silver bullets in all of his limbs until the Alpha couldn't move then do god knows what to Emile. Chase shook his head at the thought, mused by his own imagination.

Adelaide rubbed her hand along the outside of Ash's shoulder reassuringly. She could feel the emotions -- sorrow, grief, worry for the man's son -- radiating from the young woman, all of them boosted by the Nephilim's influence. They fall on Addy in a torrent, some of them mixing with her own emotions. It was the price of being a psychic: she didn't always simply perceive the emotions of those around her, she oftentimes felt them. Her great aunt Noella had told her that it was natural and it took decades to truly master the art of compartmentalizing one's own emotions from those around them. For now, that meant feeling grief for a man she had never met... though by the sounds of it, he was a good person worthy of mourning.

As they reached the Clinic, Adelaide pushed the door open and guided Ashley-May inside. She was disappointed to see the nurse's station empty. "Hello? We need some help!" she called out.

Elijah had woken from the dream with a smile on his face and a warmth in his chest. The vision of the future Hypnos gave him was something part of him had always wanted -- family, home, belonging -- but had never had the courage to pursue. Nor had he found a woman who made him falter in his denial of that future... until recently. Even after waking, he had feigned sleep for several minutes, not knowing if Ash had continued to share the same dream he had after their meeting with the deity... if she had felt the same things he did. He didn't know how that discussion would go and it terrified him. Finally, he mustered the courage to force his eyes open.

An empty chair sat alongside him.

He couldn't keep the disappointment from his face as he looked at the seat, sighing as he rubbed at bleary eyes with the heel of his hand. He perked up when he heard the door to his room opening, only to admit Nurse Ratchet. The woman didn't so much as bid him good morning, simply approaching him and launching into one of her typically efficient but not particularly comforting examinations of his vitals, the state of his dressings, and more. Elijah went along with it, with none of his usual banter or small talk. Ruth didn't seem to mind the change, speaking up only to berate him for excessive movement that seemed to have aggravated the wound site.

"Hello? We need some help!"

Elijah's eyes flicked immediately to the door to the hallway. He recognized the voice as Addy's. Ruth immediately turned on her heel, moving to open the door and step out. Elijah saw her move out of sight, heard the murmur of voices outside. Then, he saw three figures move past his doorway as he craned his neck for a better look: Nurse Ruth, Adelaide, and finally Ashley-May... covered in blood. Eli didn't hesitate, throwing the blanket from his body, swinging his legs from the bed, and forcing himself to the ground. The pain in his abdomen that followed was the worst yet, no doubt due to yesterday's ill-advised adventure, but the adrenaline already coursing through his veins kept it manageable.

Julie was striding out of the storeroom and into the Clinic's main floor as Nurse Ruth called her name. Turning to see the two of them guiding a bloodied Ashley-May toward an empty room, she sprinted over before Ruth quietly informed her that it wasn't her blood. The unfamiliar woman with them addressed her next, "Miss? Are you a doctor?"

"Yes, why?"

"You need to get to the Rec Center, the storeroom in the back. Councilman Hendrix is already there. He'll explain everything, but you need to go now," Adelaide said.

Nurse Ruth nodded. "I'll look her over, doctor. Go ahead."

Julie hesitated, but only briefly. "I'll be back soon." Dashing to her office to grab her kit, she made her way out of the Clinic and toward the rec center.

William's eyes flicked briefly toward Ginny as Mackenzie mentioned Chase's name. It seemed unlikely at this point that the young woman would endanger their operation spying on the Pack, but he wasn't willing to take many chances these days. Standing up, he gently pulled Mac aside before speaking in a hushed tone, "We may need to bring him in. He deserves to know... and this was no wolf attack. He was ambushed by a human, or at least something in human form. If the Pack figured out about Chase, they may have had their infiltrator kill Joe to send a message..." he said, his voice trailing off.

Hypnos thought for a moment, " Kyoto... and Tokyo..... I suppose they do sound the same. Nonetheless it's my mistake so I'll be the one to fix it. Is there anywhere specifically in Kyoto we need to go?" Hypnos asked reaching out his hand to teleport them again.

Emile nodded. "Oui, pardon. Months of isolation." He gave Chase a slight smile and a rueful shake of his head as he mentioned another wolf that wanted nothing to do with packs; clearly there was something wrong with the pack to the south for how many lone werewolves existed down here. He started in on his meal as Chase explained the circumstances of this Andy and how he and his father had helped her. Emile paused but nodded at the suggestion that Chase attend him if/when they approached this wolf; he didn't like the idea truthfully, but Emile had no connection to this wolf as they were clearly not in or a part of Vitae.

He ate and considered their options; now was certainly not a good time to pick up an insane wolf. They needed to be ready for the detox that would happen, much like drug addicts coming off of human hearts could be lethal for the user as much as those attending them "After Vitae," He said, pushing away the now empty plate and leaning back in his chair satisfied. "We go find Andy, we help, oui?" Really if Chase told him no, there wasn't much he could do short of search for the girl himself with the pack but he certainly didn't want to do that. "Merci pour le petit déjeuner."

Ashley-May felt embarrassed as Adelaide called out and then they were attended to by both Nurse Ratchet and Julie. "You know what, really I'm fine." She said but the Nurse would have nothing of it.

"Get out of those clothes." Ruth ordered, already pulling a hospital gown from the draws in the room and setting it on the bed. "We'll step out, but when I come back in you better be out of those messy clothes. Then we'll see if you're 'fine' or not." Once more Ruth was striding from the room, but she paused to turn a direct gaze at Adelaide, waiting for the other woman to exit to the hall before closing the door behind them both.

Mackenzie frowned as Will drew her away from Ginny, uncertain as to why they would keep this a secret given she didn't have any intention of allowing the Djinn, what ever that was, to remain in the colony. He spoke softly and she nodded, agreeing. "Call Bart. Make sure he doesn't let anyone leave the colony." She offered her phone to Will knowing that Chase would be expecting to be notified by Will's phone. They would need to let Chase set a meeting; if he couldn't get away from the pack for some time, he wouldn't risk himself.

Ginny sighs, covering her ears as they make it pretty clear that they don't have any idea how sharp her hearing is. If she had to guess, they don't know much about her race in general. She looks at Joe's body on the ground, her eyes sad. She didn't meet him before this, but from the others' reactions, she can tell he must have been well liked or respected
