Hey guys!

Welcome to Kalton Campgrounds for another amazing summer! We're happy to have you back! And for those who are new to Kalton, get ready for some fun and a wild time!

The campgrounds are now officially opened, and ready for you to arrive! Make your way there and choose between setting up camp, or meeting up with your friends from past years!

Just remember that the annual opening night bonfire party will be tonight!

Okay, so as said above, the starting scene is just everyone arriving to the camp grounds. If you have any questions, or want to plan anything with other characters, please use the OOC thread!

Jade Moore ​

Jade couldn’t believe that she had finally made it, as she drove her jeep away from the front gates of Kalton campgrounds, after checking in. She had reserved her campsite months in advance; as soon as the reservations had been available. She had a countdown on her calendar in her room, and had been more than happy when she had finally crossed out the night before. She had started packing a couple of weeks ago, and gathering all of her families camping supplies. She made sure that everything was ready and still in good condition to be used for the summer. Jade always made sure to bring more than enough supplies just in case anyone ever forgot anything, or they ran out of her something.

This year, her parents had tried to convince Jade to bring her younger brother along with her. After a lot of protest of this being her last summer before university, they all agreed that her parents would bring her brother to the campground so that he could spend a couple days with her during her last week or so there. Jade had grudgingly agreed to it, knowing that it was better than dragging him along for the whole summer.

A smile appeared on Jade’s face as she finally pulled up to her usual camping spot. The spot was a five minute walk to the beach, a little secluded under the trees from the other camp sites, and not that far from the good bathrooms with the showers. Jade parked her jeep and quickly exited the vehicle, looking around the spot. There were two picnic tables set up, and a fire pit that had a pile of wood beside it. “Home sweet home.” She commented to herself, quite content as she looked around.

Kolby King ​

It had been a busy morning for Kolby, which wasn’t something that he really liked. He had finally decided this morning that he was going to go camping for the summer. His mom had been after him for weeks, asking if he was going to go and telling him that he should book a camp site in advance, or he wasn’t to get one. But Kolby knew better than that. He happened to know that his lovely neighbor Jade always managed to get one of the biggest spots in the camp grounds. He figured that he would just go and crash on her site, as he had done in the past. He could hear Jade’s voice in his head scolding him for not planning ahead or at least letting her know.

Kolby turned down his music as he pulled up to the front gates of the campgrounds, and was greeted by the attendant that was looking at him through the little open window of the front office that he drove up beside. “Hello there, I’m under the name Moore, just coming to-“ He started, but was cut off by the attendant. “Right, Mr. Kolby King, right? Here’s your parking slip, and campsite number. Ms. Moore is already there and waiting for you.”

He narrowed his eyes as he took the papers from them, and drove away. Of course she would be expecting him, that’s just like Jade. Always planned for absolutely anything, he swore that she always carried anything you could absolutely need with her. Kolby drove through the campgrounds until he finally turned his truck onto the little dirt path that led to the familiar camping spot. He wasn’t surprised to already see Jade there, inspecting the campsite.

Brea​

Brea finished applying her bright red lipstick, pressing her lips together then settling back in her seat to study the completed look. Brea had been doing a full face of makeup every day for a very long time, and it was truly going to be interesting to see how she managed during the summer. She'd made sure to stock up on waterproof mascara and setting spray.

The seventeen year old turned around on her seat in front of her large vanity mirror, studying the luggage in front of her. She hadn't been exactly sure how to pack light; so there were at least six roller bags, two duffels and a backpack. She winced, knowing that she was already going to stand out because her parents had paid for a cabin. Though Brea really did want to try to be known as herself, and not for her money-- she'd never been camping. The idea of a tent and a sleeping bag on the ground just did not appeal to her.

Sighing, she began lugging two of the roller bags to her jeep, stuffing them in the backseat. She would really be stuffed to the brim this trip, but it would be worth it. She hoped.

It wasn't much longer until she was on the road, driving the four hours to the campsite. Once she arrived, she took a deep breath of the fresh air, and drove onto the property to check in. Afterwards, she located her cabin and parked in front of it, wondering if she'd be able to find some people to stay in it with her. She wanted to make friends on this trip, that way college wouldn't be such a culture shock to her. She planned on going far away for college, too.

Shutting her jeep off and hopping out, she took a few of her bags inside, deciding to leave the rest for later and explore. Making sure she had her cabin keys and her jeep keys, walking out a ways onto the campsite. The fields already had some tents set up, and there were bonfire areas, different trails to walk, and she thought she saw a beach area. Excited about that prospect, she turned and headed in that direction, shoving her hands into her back pockets.

“Alright! Let’s get this show on the road, Pops!” Ryan raised his voice standing on the stepper of the family’s black Range Rover before his mother scolded him to get down. How else could he express his excitement? This was the first time he went to ANY camp. “Get down or you might get hurt even before you arrive there,” His mother was clearly against the whole idea of summer camp. Ryan’s father however thought otherwise, “Just have fun and eat a lot of fruits.” If it were not for the business trip his father had around the neighboring city, Ryan might not even have been allowed to go to the campsite in the first place.

With everything packed up into the Rover, the Nickelsons were off to the campsite. “Pag may insecto diyan dapat ka mag suot ng repellant hah?” His overprotective mother reminded him about the insects that would undoubtedly be flying around the campsite. “Okay, okay . . . chill ma” Ryan customarily assured his mother in an unenthusiastic way. He couldn’t wait to get his parents off around his neck.

Eventually the family pulled up into the appropriate dirt path. There was nothing but wilderness surrounding the vehicle and Ryan’s mother was not a fan, “Reynaldo, help your son with his bags.” “No, it’s alright mom I got it,” Ryan replied giving his mother a confident nod. The only child hugged his parents goodbye just before wearing his black school backpack, slinging a navy blue Nike gym bag over his shoulder, and slipping on a drawstring sack in front of his torso. It looked a bit much to carry all at the same time, but that’s what it took for him to carry all his belongings in one trip from the car. After a final wave, Mr. and Mrs. Nickelson conclusively drove away to the neighboring area to stay at their hotel. In reality their destination was miles away from the campsite, but Ryan had no problem with that. Most of the time he was treated like he was still a kid. There was some logical sense in enforcing protection over his well-being; however, sometimes his parents would just get carried away. Eighteen’s pretty old, right? Ryan thought to himself as he made his way to the check in.

The reality of bag handles. The young adult could feel a rough drawstring gradually rub against the skin on his neck after the check in process. The silence is too loud. Perhaps Ryan was a bit too excited to even keep his thoughts in one direction. His right hand fumbled for the earphones dangling down his chest. He had tucked in the wire beneath his shirt when he was in the car so it wouldn't get in the way when he was unloading stuff. After pressing play on his phone, Ryan's hand casually adjusted the string beyond his collar before swiftly moving through his hair. He had been so preoccupied with his thoughts that he lost track of where he was headed. Smart move, dude.

Asha Bello

.

Asha pulled up to the entrance of the campgrounds. Her music was blasting and the bass was thumping. She turned her music down and smiled. The attendant at the window gave her a disapproving look but she didn't seem to notice or car. Asha drove inside once she was handed the keys to her cabin. It had taken working more often but she managed to snag one. Asha was sure that this would be fun but she'd rather not sleep on the group where all the insects and dirt were. When she reached her cozy cabin she parked her car. Figuring that it would be better to unpack now, Asha got out and grabbed her bags. Once all of her things were inside and away she took the time to look around her temporary home. It was cute and had a homey feel to it.

Asha stretched and headed out. It was her first time here so she'd go out and mingle with the others. She was looking forward to the parties and bonfires. Maybe she'd even find a bae during this trip. Asha took a look around when she reached the campsite. Tents were already laid out along with with some trailers. People were mingling with one another.

Jasper Williams

.

Jasper was currently finishing up with his tent. It had taken him a while to set it up but he had gotten in done. The tent was large enough to fit two people inside of it. Jasper had been using the same tent since he started to come to the campsite. It was a gift from a friend and lasted a long time. Jasper straightened up and stretched. He sighed softly when he heard bones pop. He took the time to look around. Jasper had been so busy with setting up his tent that he didn't notice how quickly others had arrived. He smiled slightly and turned his attention back to his tent. Now he had to move his things inside.

He had packed lightly for the trip. A mattress to sleep one, clothes, and some camping food for when he got hungry. Jasper wiped his forehead with his arm. He grabbed a hair tie from his wrist and proceeded to but his large hair into a bun. At times like these he almost regret letting it grow out.

sophie marie pryce

 day one. it was finally here, after what felt like eons of anticipation. the first day of summer camp. the start of something new and exciting and terrifying, all at once.
 sophie tried to calm the rush of nerves that knotted her stomach as she swung her duffel bag over her shoulder. there was nothing to worry about, really: she had checked ― triple-checked ― the packing list and knew the location of every item she had brought by heart. her new sketchbook was in the side compartment, its blank pages almost begging to be filled, and she warmed at the thought of the beautiful sceneries she could paint in the coming weeks. still, the thought of being in an unfamiliar environment, surrounded by unfamiliar people, was daunting, to say the least. first impressions weren't sophie's forte, but she was determined to make this time count.
 shouldering her bag, sophie scanned the expanse before her. to her left were a cluster of small cabins, nestled cozily between pine trees and underbrush. one of them had to be hers. as she made her way toward the campsite, sophie spotted two other campers, who seemed to have already made themselves at home. a couple, perhaps? either way, they looked nice enough, with genuine smiles and hearty laughs she could hear even from a distance.
 taking a deep breath to calm her pounding heart, sophie made her way over to the pair.
 "hey! i'm sophia, but most people call me sophie. i think i have the campsite next door."

Moon Tae Kyung​

A tired and drawn out yawn escaped Tae as he closed the door to his car behind him. His eyes lazily looked around the camp grounds while he continued to unload his belongings in his cabin. It never made any sense to him why people would choose to sleep in a tent when you could sleep in the perfectly fine cabins. Tae's friends made him do that last year with them and after sweating to death while being viciously mauled by mosquitoes he told them 'I'm never doing this shit again.'

Once he had everything put away, he made his way back out to the area where most of the other campers had gathered and scanned the area. Tae was known to have a bad track record of hooking up with people at the camp, which was the main reason for him coming back every year. Nothing made his summer better than parties, new friends, drinking, and late summer night hookups. Something red caught Tae's attention and on closer inspection it was a girl walking around in a very fashionable crimson outfit. He nodded his head approvingly as the outfit complimented her well, he loved acknowledging others that had a good sense of style. Tae walked over to the girl with a friendly smile, "It's always nice to meet someone else out here that dresses pretty well, I'm Tae-Kyung and this is my third year out here. What's your name?"

Asha was enjoying the few when she heard someone addressing her or she assumed that they were addressing her. When she looked in the direction of where the voice came from Asha smiled. Walking towards her was an adorable boy with blue and black hair. He was about an inch taller than her and dressed stylishly. He looked younger than her, still in high school possibly. "Hello Tae Kyung, my names Asha Bello." She introduced. His compliment made her smirk confidently and flick her hair over her shoulder. "You like? It was something that I just put together." She giggled.

That had been a lie. Asha always made sure to carefully pick out her outfits. She was even pickier if she knew that she'd be meeting new people. First impressions were important after all. "This is my first time here. I heard of this place from a friend and decided to check it out." She crossed her arms over her chest. "Is it as good as they say?" She raised an eyebrow.

Jade Moore ​

Jade had just started mentally planning out her campsite when she heard a vehicle pull up. A smirk appeared on her face as she turned around to face a very familiar truck that was now parked beside her jeep. Jade always made sure to be prepared for most things that were thrown her way, but she to admit, always being prepared for whatever Kolby King was going to do, was not easy. Kolby was always her little challenge in life. He would always follow her around to try and annoy her, and in turn, Jade would try to bring some sort or organization to his life. But this year, Jade was not going to let him ruin any of her fun.

“You’re just in time Kolby, You can help me set up. I’m hoping you brought your own tent, or are you planning on sleeping in your truck again?” She asked him, really hoping that he had brought a tent. Though that wouldn’t be as bad as when he decided he was going to ‘tent and cabin surf’ for a couple of weeks, and see how far he got before he had to sleep outside on the ground. “You actually want me to do something? I’m on vacation! You’re so cruel Jadey.” Kolby mocked her, and watched as she made her way over to her jeep, and opened the back hatch.


She began taking out the different supplies, and putting it onto the picnic table. She sent a look over at Kolby, who quickly got the message and began helping her. It didn’t take long for the two of them to have most of the jeep unloaded, and put on the picnic tables that were on the campsite. “Okay, let’s put up my tent, and then we can have a break.” She instructed him, while grabbing the tent bag and bringing it over to a clear, flat area of land.

Kolby King ​

Kolby grinned as he pulled up beside Jade’s familiar jeep, and put his truck in park. He turned it off, and got out, not surprised to see Jade looking at him, a smirk on her face. He knew that there was no way the smirk was a good one. He had secretly hoped that Jade would have had her part of the campsite set up by now, so that all they had to do was put up his tent, and then the fun would begin. Instead, she was going to force him to help her. “You’re just in time Kolby, You can help me set up. I’m hoping you brought your own tent, or are you planning on sleeping in your truck again?” Jade questioned him. Kolby smiled thinking back of when he had refused to buy a tent. This year, his mother had put one in his truck before he had left, and he had a feeling that was because of Jade’s complaining after last year.

“You actually want me to do something? I’m on vacation! You’re so cruel Jadey.” Kolby mocked her, and watched as she made her way over to her jeep, and opened the back hatch. Grudgingly, Kolby made his way over to Jade and began to help her unload her jeep. It didn’t take them long to have everything unpacked and put onto the picnic tables. He was about to make his escape down to the beach when Jade decided that they were going to put up her tent. He began to groan, but stopped as she mentioned that they would have a break after. Finally, he could make his rounds and try to figure out where the fun would be this summer.

Eventually, Kolby and Jade had her tent up, and she had somehow convinced him to put his tent up as well. It was finally beginning to look like a campsite. Kolby looked at Jade and could tell that she was going to suggest that they work on putting something else together, when someone’s voice spoke first. Kolby turned to see a new face standing near them, and luckily for him, it belonged to a girl. Kolby was quick to turn on the charm, and casually make his way over to the girl. “Nice to meet you, Sophie.” He greeted her, ignoring the fact that he knew Jade would be rolling her eyes. “I’m Kolby, and that girl over there is Jade. I’m guessing you’re new here? I feel like I would have remembered you from years past.”

Tae ran his hand through his hair to make the small strays fall back into place. Just by looking at her, Tae could tell that Asha was a little nervous seeing as how this was her first time here. Completely understandable since it could be a little overwhelming at first.

"It's nice to meet you Asha, feel free to call me Tae and I definitely approve of your look. As for how the camp is, it's been a different adventure for me each time. The first year was rough since I ended up in a tent but I definitely had fun. Guess it all just depends on who you're with, and there's a good variety of people. You have your partiers, druggies, casual hookups, weird s'more gatherings, and anything else you could think of out here." Tae took a second to reminisce on the previous years and how they somehow managed to burn their tent down after a ghost story took a turn for the worse, "Good times, lots of good memories for me."

 sophie nodded. she could already feel a flush rising in her cheeks as she scrambled to find her words. why did she have to be so awkward around strangers? it didn't help that kolby was certainly attractive, with a winning smile that made her heart flutter slightly in her chest.
 "y-yeah, this is my first year at kalton. hopefully not my last, though," sophie managed, cringing at her terrible attempt at a joke. "i'm still figuring out the ropes here. do either of you know anything about the bonfire party tonight? mind if we walk over together?"

.

"Its nice to meet you too Tae. You really have an eye for fashion huh?" Asha smiled approvingingly. It was always nice to meet someone with the same interest as her. Now if he started to talk about his love for tattoos then she'd think she was being set up or something. Asha chuckle mentally at that thought. "Yeah, no...as soon as I was told that we had the option of living in a cabin a snatched one up. I'm not a fan of bugs and dirt." She wrinkled her nose and shook her head in disgust. If this had been like a regular campsite, with no showers or cabins she wouldn't have showed up. While Asha appreciated the beauty of nature she wasn't a fan of the filthiness that came with it.

As Tae listed off the different types of people she nodded. This was definitely the place for her then. She loved a good party and a little bit of weed now and then. "So its like college but we're just outside." She laughed. "Well I look forward to making memories here. If I have enough fun I'm definitely coming back next year."

Jade Moore ​

It took every ounce of self-control that Jade had not to continue rolling her eyes and make fun of Kolby’s attempt to be charming. She had almost fallen for Kolby’s charm once, but being his neighbour and seeing him bring home different girls definitely helped her steer clear of becoming one of his ‘victims.’ She always hoped that one day he’d find someone that he would actually want to stick with, instead of throwing her to the curb.

“Yeah! The bonfire party is at the beach, it’s pretty fun! They have an actual DJ that comes to play music, a large fire of course, and they usual supply some sort of food during the night if there’s enough people.” She explained to Sophie. Jade had helped them plan the bonfire party this year, so she was very excited to see how the event turned out. She knew the DJ well, and they had even set up an area of the beach for a dance floor. They had more than enough wood for the bonfire, picnic tables and benches set up, plus a place for food. And for when it got dark, they set up lanterns around the beach to light it up.

Jade was brought out of her thoughts as Kolby opened his mouth. “To answer your other question, we don’t mind at all if you walk over there with us. Though, the party’s not for another couple hours, or possibly more. Just to make sure everyone gets here and sets up. But you’re welcome to hang out here until it starts!” He explained to her. Jade did her best not to shake her head at him, the guy must be in heaven now, having someone ask for his help. “Well, while you two talk, I’m going to go check things out go for a little walk. See you both later!” Jade told them, as she headed off in the direction towards the cabins, wondering if she would see anyone she knew, or meet any new comers.

Kolby King ​

Kolby tried not to smirk as he watched the girl’s cheeks start to become a little red. How easy was it that she had found him? This summer was having an amazing start, he couldn’t believe it! He went to answer her about the bonfire, but Jade had beat him to it. He sighed as she began to go on to explain what the bonfire party was like. All Kolby had heard for months was about the bonfire planning whenever he had seen Jade, it was like he had already been to the party a thousand times. But at the same time, he knew that it was going to end up pretty cool, if it ended up like how Jade wanted it to.

When Jade finally stopped talking, Kolby was quick to take advantage. “To answer your other question, we don’t mind at all if you walk over there with us. Though, the party’s not for another couple hours, or possibly more. Just to make sure everyone gets here and sets up. But you’re welcome to hang out here until it starts!”

He turned to look at Jade as she told them that was leaving to go walk around. This really was his day, Jade was even getting out of the way! He’d definitely owe it to her later for that. “Alright Jadey, see you later!” He called out to her, as he watched her walk away.

Tae laughed at Asha's comparison of the camp being college outside. If it was even remotely like college than he had a lot of fun times in store for him in the future. "I guess that's a pretty good way to put it but it's probably better since no one here has to worry about studying. You might find a few trophy students studying but I can promise you that those are the same kids that end up blacked out and covered in marker. They never know how to go easy and end up binging within the first hour."

Tae noticed a girl walking over in their direction and decided to wave her over. She seemed to know her way around the place and didn't have anything about her that screamed nervous. He figured she was a veteran of this party battleground and might have a new perspective to give Asha on how things work around here.

"Too true, if this place was exactly like college then I'd leave in a heart beat. I'm not really the studying type." Asha chuckled. It was true while at college Asha focused more on having a good time. She didn't completely neglect her studies but she didn't let them stress her. In the end she was only going to please her parents. After all you didn't need a degree to become a tattoo artist.

She ran a hand through her hair. "But I can't say that I blame those types of students. Exams can be a bitch and so could class work if you're behind." She added. She knew personally about procrastinating when it came to work. She tried to do it as little as possible. Asha watched as he waved some girl over. She looked between the two of them curiously. "That you're friend or something?" Asha asked

Jade Moore ​

Jade continued walking down the pathways, taking in the amazing views in front of her. She also noted all of the unfamiliar faces that she passed, setting up their camp sites. It was amazing to see that every year, more and more new people showed up at Kalton for the summer, and many people returned from years past as well. There was a lot more people compared to when the camping ground first started its teenager camping event.

As she walked, Jade noticed someone motioning for her to come over to them. The closer she got, Jade realized that there were two people standing together. One was a guy, with different colour hair, and a girl. Jade definitely did not recognize the girl, but she thought that she might have seen the guy In the past.

“Hey there! Anything I can help you with?” Jade asked them, curious as to why he called her over. “I’m Jade.”
