The small town of Crewdson, Indiana lies near the southwestern tip of the Hoosier State, though not a single town or city is less than an hour away. Founded from a small community of techie wannabes, Crewdson has blossomed into a small but strong place on the Midwestern Maps, though not many passes through for anything more than gas and a cup of coffee.

Skaianet System Incorporated is the pride and joy of Crewdson. Springing from generations of the original founders, this local technology research and development business has made things easier on Crewdson than ever before. Not only have they invented their own open-sourced coding language, ^CAKE, but they've created Quicksilver, a town-shaped network of nodes that allow people to speak with one another through their personal computers. Their office building is one of the biggest, though there are rumors that they have a second facility where they manufacture other products unseen by the general public. The Head of Research & Development, Doctor Richard Scratch, has denied these claims.

Crewdson is shaped as any small town would be, but the locals have a special way of talking about it. Even though smaller roads and streets do exist, many of the major landmarks within Crewdson are located close to four major roads in town. Main Street is the one that gets the most outside traffic, being connected to the highway and all that.

Coming off their first major tour, the Crewdson-based band Potential Verdancy has returned to their roots for the summer. As an indie rock group, their first public album exploded on the east coast, and the band has been doing shows in San Francisco for the past few weeks.

The group consists of Fox "Nuclear" Tobias on the Synth/Keyboard, J. Marcus on the Electric Guitar, Clara Wellop on the Bass, Ian "Solaris" Jeremiah on Drums, and Roman "Stone" Aja as the vocalist.

Their album is called Aggrievance, and has several homages to inside jokes and secrets within Crewdson, creating a unique story within each song that seems to rock the indie scene.

About two years ago, Skaianet Systems Incorporated opened their first entertainment branch and began making text adventures for the various computers released during the modern age. These games included Waterworks (A young woman explores a water processing plant to defeat members of the mob and save her small town), BBEG (A skeleton awakens in a crypt and begins their quest to rule the world as a powerful lich), DoubleDecker Mindbus (A pyramid-headed psychic tries to escape from a world of magic and mystery), and perhaps the most popular, Harlequin, a game about a small-time jester in a world of clownery and tricks.

Six months ago, Skaianet released their very own console, called the Allcon, which has only been released to citizens of Crewdson thus far. Several games are quick puzzles or platformers, including ports of unreleased games from the past. The current boom in town among the youth is the release of Harlequin^2, the NES/Genesis-Graphics port of the town-famous text adventure game with an original story, plotline, characters, music, and more!

The local rock band Potential Verdancy wrote a song inspired by the original Harlequin, located in their famous album as Rockaquin. Their rendition of the song has been instrumentalized and included in the new game as a battle theme.
