Reshoots. Fucking reshoots.
It was natural when a pilot was picked up that last minute changes and ideas would be added, especially since the episode had yet to air. Little things like adding new characters in, or an extra scene or two. In this case, the showrunner had gotten what he had thought to be the most brilliant beyond brilliant idea for what the action could be centered around for Season 1. The teens putting on a production of the musical Grease, which would end up being the place where the supernatural climax occurs and secrets get revealed in the finale. So a couple scenes of it being discussed were added into the pilot, along with making sure cast members who weren't there when the pilot was shot didn't come out of nowhere in Episode Two. Bianca knew it made sense, but still she was itching to get started on Episode Two. Plus the new musical concept had her breaking out into hives just thinking of it.
As she went through her usual routine of getting dressed and beautified in the wee hours of the morning, the idea of doing that episode stayed in her mind, taunting her. While it was true that Bianca had done musicals in the past and had semi-decent musical capabilities, they were high school productions where everybody was amateur and she didn't have to worry about it being shown on TV. She didn't have to worry about looking like an idiot in front of
Breathe in, breathe out. She needed a distraction, a task, anything that would stop her from feeling freaked out and helpless. Calling someone maybe? She would ordinarily contact Nick when she was feeling down and needed to laugh or smile, but she'd done that for three days in a row at this point. As smitten as the boy claimed he was, she didn't want to bother him so early in the morning. Nick wasn't even her boyfriend after all, it wasn't his job to distract her from feeling like shit. After all, for all she knew he was busy with some other chick like Tony said he was.
But if she wasn't going to bother Nick, maybe she could do the next best thing. It was 5:00 in the morning, places should be starting to open, and Nick was a bottomless pit. With all the love in the world for him that man was an animal. So maybe she could show up early and surprise him with food and coffee? Yes, theoretically Megumi and Ava were the ones in charge of doing that. But 1. She sincerely doubted he would complain about double sustenance and 2. She wanted to do it so badly. Figuring out what kind of food Nick would like best was a challenge for the ages, one that would occupy her brain enough that she stopped panicking about her career. Plus, she wanted to make him happy. She enjoyed play-acting as if they were an official couple, even though they weren't already. Admittedly, Bianca's nerves and awkwardness might have had something to do with that. Rejection was literally petrifying even if there was objectively a low chance of that happening. So getting something Nick liked for him was a relatively low stakes way of expressing her feelings. Maybe if she acted girlfriend-y enough it'd actually happen.
“Come to set early, I have something for you.” She texted Nick, as she walked over to the coffee shop they had gone on a sort-of date to before. She entered and glanced at the menu over the cash register as she waited in line. Eventually deciding on his usual coffee order and a box of donuts, she grinned from ear to ear, almost skipping outside of the coffeeshop. As she boarded a bus to set as usual, she used all of her manpower to steady the box. She'd be damned if they hit a speedbump and they ended up being crushed or the frosting got ruined. She'd already told Nick she had a surprise, it was vital nothing happened to them.
As the bus announced they were at her stop, she departed, being greeted by Flash Film Studios. As always, she showed her ID to security, and headed over to the studios. Her target was spotted, as always looking better than he had any right to be. She walked over, grabbing his arm and quietly dragging him inside the studio, and up the stairs to her dressing room. Bianca settled down on a cramped sofa, gesturing for Nick to follow suit. With an awkward grin, she revealed the box. "I got snacks. Figured you'd be hungry." She gazed up at him, gauging his reaction with a nervous laugh.
