Could I get a bit of a lore dump on the Naval situation? Like did they bombard the city into surrender but the Navy was actually fine or did the Imperials also manage to blockade Montrac? Also, is the war actually over or is this just a break in the fighting? Captain Spooks

I'd say during the war the navy participated the most out of the Republics military. Historically it's always been Montrac's greatest strength, protecting trade, and especially maintaining naval dominance during the war. Sailing is big in Montracian culture, and much of that honor is shown in their navy. Post war Navy took a big hit I'd say, with the Imperials seizing their fleet and replacing Montracian officers with Imperial ones. Any sailor who didn't bend the knee to the Imperials would have been imprisoned or executed. Some ships and sailors who were stationed far away might of sought asylum in other Coalition nations or are still fighting for the Republic.

As for official records the war is over, with the Imperials breaking through Montrac they began to slow down. The war had been more costly than they anticipated. The Coalition on the other hand was broken, Montrac had been the last line of their defense and soon after her fall members began suing for peace. Some would pay war reparations and others would become vassals under the Empire. Fighting has stopped, though tensions are still very high, it's clear that the Empire wanted more out of the war.

So would you say that the Navy was never actually defeated in battle but was forced to hand over the fleet with the fall of the Republic? If that's the case it fits perfectly with my Uber patriotic upperclass Ex-Naval officer. Being forced to surrender his vessel and his command to an enemy that never defeated him but simply took his home hostage probably stings like nothing else.

Also I wouldn't say that any sailors were executed. While you could argue that not obeying their new officers is mutiny, it would definitely mean riots over their deaths. Instead it's likely they got dishonorably discharged or maybe flogged. Unless you mean for the whole occupation to be really heavy handed throughout.

Cool, how high up am I allowed to be? I am thinking Commodore. Also are Airplanes and Aircraft Carriers a thing?

I think a Commodore would be fine! I'd say Airplanes are relatively new with the most advanced being biplanes

I know it's been a few days and I haven't quite got my character completed but are we still on?

I just added lots more to House Lamolli and Lazar himself. I like the idea of being under scrutiny.

Yep we're still on if you guys are! I've had a couple of things come up these last few days. I'm working on another character right now and after that I'll get started on the first IC post

Honestly it's kind of funny how when they banned imports from the East it actually ended up filling the Lamolli's pockets because we just increased imports from Neutral countries we had trade links with.
