History:

Mira Vallens was born Ceres Mandon to Rosanne and Tyros Mandon on Coruscant. Lovers of the Republic and respecters of the Jedi Order, at first they thought it was a blessing to have a Force Sensitive daughter. Then they realized it was not; they had no idea how to raise her, and unfortunately scarred her through their attempts to care for her. They neglected her, thinking ignoring her would cause Mira to learn that her "overreactions" needed to stop, but they only worsened as Mira didn't know how to bottle up her emotions. So, they gave her up.

Foster families used similar strategies, time-outs, isolation, yelling at her--all manner of things, but none of it ever truly worked. She got better at keeping it all within, but inevitably, it would explode out. Then one knew of Luke, and called up. Han Solo was the one to pick her up, take her first to Leia, and then get in touch with Luke to make sure he'd take her in. Mira joined Luke and Ben Solo at the age of eleven, and there was not much Luke could teach her to help at that point. Except, to meditate, and to learn how to stay calm in almost any situation. Mira took it. Ben Solo tried to teach her otherwise, as he was learning from Snoke--and she took some of his lessons, never knowing what it was leading to.

She joined Kylo at the age of 14, against Luke and his padawans. They fled shortly after, and she truly met Snoke and joined the Knights of Ren--but to do it, she had to prove herself. She had to destroy her "light", which Snoke seemed to think meant any ties to her past. He had no idea she delighted in killing her parents, and her sister, Prospera. Then, it was off to Korriban. Mathias joined them there, for he had been living on Korriban. He jumped on board too quick, enthusiastic about meeting other Force Sensitives, until he learned what he had to do. He got right up to the point...and then he wavered. Mira cut in to try and defend him from Kylo, but both were brought before Snoke. Before them, Snoke destroyed what mind remained to Mathias and then turned on Mira, so she would learn the cost of betrayal. Mira met the Void face to face, and it kept her in line for many, many years.

They went back to Korriban. There, she met Kevan Ren, and he became her unofficial apprentice. She taught him the ways of the Force. She prepared him far better than Mathias for his light--she wasn't going to witness that again. He was with them when they went to Endor, and he was with them when they forged their alliance with the First Order. After that, though, they started to be split up more and more and spread throughout space. Mira Ren was all but forgotten in Wild Space, mapping it and occasionally sending back information. She met Gnaeus and Ariel, liked them well enough, but never truly knew them as she did Kylo and Kevan. Kevan kept forcing get-togethers with all the Knights.

Then Han died. Kylo got injured. Mira was called back, and rather than remove Kevan from his work, Mira was set to work alongside Hux. Things were rocky, and Mira did not truly interact much with Hux until he needed her for a diplomatic meeting. There they were nearly poisoned by the Resistance, but managed to seal an alliance all the same, and take prisoners. Kylo returned then, and Mira knew her time among the First Order was soon to be up.

She forged a friendship with the General before learning that Kevan Ren had been captured by the Resistance, from one of the prisoners. All too aware of what Kevan's fate would be, Mira took matters into her own hands to get him free, by trading Rollo for Kevan. She left Kevan on Tatooine, and attempted to cover her trail with Ariel, but it failed fantastically when Hux met the Stormtrooper RL-0022...who did not go with Mira.

Hux was ordered to bring Mira to Snoke, but failed at that when the Knight got the best of him and took him hostage, only to let him go, explaining that she had faith in the First Order, and even advising him on treachery, before they parted ways on Coruscant...where Mira was picked up by the Resistance members, Poe and Finn Dameron, after Kylo caught up with them. With the Resistance, Mira was reunited with Leia and Rollo, and allowed to stay. She shared information of the kyber crystals in Wild Space, and more or less signed up for the Resistance. She was a part of the mining mission, and there began to bring the FO and Resistance together after learning that Hux had betrayed Snoke and cast out the Knights. The Knights also arrived on the planet, but they were repelled.

The meeting between FO and Resistance occurred the next day, with Mira acting as mediator. Mira did not tell them of the nightmare that showed the destruction of the meeting...which took place, thanks to Snoke. Mira is fully aware that these are not 'Jedi Visions', and tried to change the outcome of Snoke's dream. In doing so, she joined Poe in an effort to save Hux and Finn from Clone Fighters, and ended up crash landing on Jakku with them. The foursome wandered and there learned of Finn's Force sensitivity, before stumbling upon a home of a cat, and shacking up there for the night. It was after a few hours that Qui-Gon again intervened, still unknown to Mira, although the green of the kyber crystals was recognized by General Hux. The pair of them went to get the Jedi Guide from a home, and there caught wind of Luke Skywalker. They did not run into him until they actually were back at the cat's home, and there had the Guide well hidden. The reunion with Luke did not go over well for either him or Mira, and hatred remains present between the two. They were returned to Cimarosa.

On Cimarosa, Mira was only concerned with staying awake and ended up meeting Commandant Hux on a coffee run, where she learned how much the man hated her. Though not completely sure why he hates her so much, she's decided to be wary, especially after ending up in the "right place" at the "right time" when General Hux went off on the Commandant and made her Admiral of the First Order. Needless to say, she accepted, and then went to deal with the pair of Knights that showed up on Cimarosa, assisting in taking them captive though learning that she is getting much weaker to Snoke's invasions. Deciding to speed up the process of getting aid, and make sure she leaves a mark on the war effort, she went to clean up, and then sought out the Jedi Guide from Hux's ship to make copies.

Random Facts

  • Ice cream is her favorite dessert, especially coffee flavored.
  • Coffee is also something of a vice.
  • Apparently able to manipulate the instincts of animals, or at least make herself "feel" trustworthy via the Force. Not positive of how this works.
  • Qui-Gon Jinn has taken an interest, but has only made himself known in incidents she has brushed off (Cimarosa, Holocron starting on its own, Jakku and the Jedi Guide, etc.). Usually manifests his presence by turning the kyber crystals green.
  • Is very against the Jedi Order.
  • Is very against the Sith Order.
  • Chose the name "Mira" because it sounded like "Mirror". The same logic applies to her first ship, Echo.
  • Has a Skiff on Coruscant; currently unnamed.
  • chosen the name "Vallens" because someone told her once upon a time that "Valentine" had a root meaning of strong on some lecture about love she was forced to endure in a Cantina, thanks to Kevan.
  • Loved Ben Solo. Hates what Kylo Ren has become, and this hatred grew over time through the Knights.
  • Isolation gave her lots of time to read. She knows quite a bit about Coruscanti Politics, the Jedi Order, and many other history things.
  • Least favorite food is rats. She will never again eat it if possible.
  • Feels no regret over the deaths of the Mandon family, even if she knows a sane human would. Hyper-aware of emotional issues, but finds it difficult to make any changes to them or address them.

Paquin Kent
paq.jpg

  • Name: Paquin Kent

    Age: 28

Affiliation: Knights of Ren; Formerly the First Order

Hair: Brown. Curly and long, it reaches just short of midback. Typically worn down, with the exception of when she's working on something intently.

    Eyes: Blue

    Height: 5'0"

    Body Type: Shapely, voluptuous.

Attire: Uniforms. Knight armor. Previously her FO uniform. She's not had a chance to develop much of a personal style.

Notable Aspects: Curly hair, short height.

Paquin Isla Kent was born to Phoebe and Bernard Kent. Phoebe was a Rebel pilot, Bernard a technician. They were both still a part of the Alliance for a year after the destruction of the second Death Star, until Paquin was conceived unexpectedly. Paquin was born on the ‘family ship’, instead of on a planet. Her parents weren’t the best at timing.

Both Bernard and Phoebe were aware of Paquin’s Force-sensitivity, her displaying it early after her birth. It initially scared the two, having known the destruction that Force-sensitives like Vader and Palpatine had caused. They did their best to keep Paquin from utilizing it, keeping her calm and not encouraging it by having her learn of it. Mostly in fear of her becoming the next Sith lord, even with Luke Skywalker and his Jedi academy around. They were lucky that Paquin’s sensitivity had always been mild. As she got older, they felt that it nearly disappeared.

At the age of seven, they thought Paquin was old enough for them both to return to working, instead of just one. They didn’t share what they did with Paquin, just told her how long it would take, set rules. Bernard stuck to working as a freelance technician, avoiding any possibly dangerous jobs, knowing Paquin needed them to provide. But Phoebe disregarded that and engaged in just about any dangerous job she could get her hands on.

They moved Paquin around, keeping her a planet or two away from where Bernard would be working. So, Paquin experienced a lot of different climates and sceneries. They typically left her with lessons to study, avoiding giving her anything with too many details on Palpatine or Vader, nearly avoiding that subject altogether.

Paquin’s first desire to become a medic came the first time she was left alone by her parents. A boy had fallen from a tree near her temporary home and came asking for a bandaid. Paquin took pride in the way she placed the bandage on the boy's knee. From there her burning need took off, spurring some self-experimenting.

Paquin was a smart kid and had a lot of free time on her hands. She finished regular schooling early, along with studying medicine in great detail. By the time she was twelve, she was ready to move on to higher education. Her parents, thought that to be an ill idea, instead telling her that she was old enough to wander about and make friends. Paquin ignored that, frequently saying that she could make friends at school.

By the age of thirteen, she decided she’d have to move on by herself. She hitched a ride to Rhinnal and attempted to enroll in the school. All was seemingly going well until her parents found out. They went to get her and a large fight ensued before her father convinced her mother that it may not have been as bad of an idea as they thought. Paquin would be constantly around people, she’d make friends, and she’d be able to become a doctor afterward. So, it was agreed.

All contact during her seven years at the school was minimal, Paquin holding a bit of a grudge against her parents. Paquin was one of the most successful students at the school, but she wasn’t successful with the students. Due to her lack of socialization during her childhood and her meek personality, she had trouble communicating and making friends. Not to mention they were all older than her. She loved people but had trouble talking to them.

During her schooling, she worked closely with medics of the First Order. Though, at that time, they were a small organization. Once she graduated, at 18, she was offered a job. And since she knew the Order well, she agreed. Since she was an adult, she didn’t need to ask her parents. She informed them as a courtesy, then dropped contact with them.

She hadn’t been aware of the Stormtroopers upon accepting the job offer, but she didn’t ask questions. She was given minimal training on flying, weapons, and self-defense before being cleared to work.

Paquin happily worked the same job with the Order for ten years, working her way up to becoming the head medic. Not once in her life was there any sign of Force-sensitivity, at least not to her. So, she was very surprised when it was discovered by Mira Ren in the odd situation of her and her ‘friend’ Kylo Ren walking in on Mira and Hux eating dinner.

From there the events became weirder, after being taken to Snoke. Two Knights betrayed Snoke and she accompanied Kylo on a hunt for one of them, Kevan Ren. She killed an amount of people, something she was surprised she did so casually, along with Kevan. But shortly upon returning to the Order, after meeting Gnaeus and Ariel Ren, she was pushed out after Hux broke from Snoke.

The loss of her job certainly hurt Paquin, but she had no choice but to leave. With a little help from Phasma, she left with an angry Kylo Ren. They returned to Snoke on Kamino and shortly after were sent on a mission to gather kyber crystals. That failed and they had to return to Snoke.

Snoke invaded Kylo Ren’s mind, something that seemed more like torture to Paquin. She was put off by that but didn’t speak about it. They were then sent to Korriban to train.

Kylo Ren

Biography

Name: Kylo Ren

Previous Names: Ben Solo

Age: 31

Affiliation: Knighs of Ren, Commander. Formerly First Order.

Hair: Black, falls over his ears and down the back of his neck, a bit long.

Eyes: Brown

Height: 6'3"

Body Type: Muscular, buff, though the black makes him look slimmer than he really is. Has an 8-pack.

General Attire: Black, knight armor and mask.

Notable Aspects: Black mask and crossguard red lightsaber. Face has a scar, as does his chest-circular.

History:

Kylo Ren was born to Leia Organa and Han Solo as Ben Solo. He was very Force-sensitive when he was born, despite Leia not being as strong or trained in the Force as Luke Skywalker. Fortunately, she knew enough to help him keep it all under control for a few years, however, he grew more and more restless.

He was neglected. Han Solo and Leia Organa were not ideal parents or lovers. They fought. They abandoned each other, and they abandoned him. The environment was chaotic and sowed the seeds of mistrust early. Chewbacca tried to stay at his side and help him, as did C-3P0, but they were always pulled away from him. He was either dragged off with Han, or dragged off with Leia, or worst of all, left alone in their “home”.

He broke much. His tantrums got so bad that Leia went to Luke to ask his help, and reluctantly, Luke agreed…but Kylo was aware of that reluctance. “Too old” and “too angry”—in spite of the fact that Luke had been too old, impatient, and angry. Luke did not give him as much help as he needed, paying more attention to the padawans that had come to him before. So, Kylo wandered. He met Snoke early and was overjoyed to have something of a parental figure come into his life.

Ceres came then, too, an older padawan who was too smart for her own good. Before Luke taught her silence, she questioned everything, but Luke always shut her down with ‘meditate’ and ‘focus’—which she was already good at. Kylo could see the flaws to his teaching method, and brought her into the fold as his own challenge. He knew they were similar so far as the Force went—the Force was not passive with them, but active.

At the age of 15, Kylo Ren was ‘born’ as Snoke told him so many things, and told him how Luke Skywalker was going to destroy the universe with his Jedi Order. He brought Ceres into the Knights, an order of the Sith reborn, and she renamed herself Mira. They were the first two, and he always thought she would be there even if he knew she had her issues with Snoke. They took down Luke’s padawan’s. They rebuilt Korriban. They joined the First Order. They went on independent missions, and others joined their ranks—Kevan, Gnaeus, Ariel. He doesn’t think of Mathias.

Yet, problems arose. Their unity broke apart through their independent missions. Their goals were lost to the First Order goals. That was, until there was an awakening in the Force, and a trail to Luke that Kylo Ren followed relentlessly, leading to his defeat at the hands of Rey, a woman he wants to recruit to the Knights. He did overcome his light, or one of them—he killed Han Solo.

His defeat brought him back to Snoke, and there he healed. There, he learned more of controlling his fury, but it has not had time to sink in. He was drawn back to the First Order when Snoke felt a disturbance, and the future seemed to cloud for him. There, Kylo Ren met Paquin, the newest Knight. He tried to teach her a bit about the Force, but he wasn’t allowed much time with his new apprentice. He learned what became of Kevan Ren…a traitor. His anger at this blinded him to the actions Mira started to take against him, and he was blindsided twice.

He had to pursue Kevan and left Mira in Hux’s hands, a mistake he would regret immensely when it caused Hux to turn on the Knights. However, his pursuit of Kevan did succeed. With Paquin at his side, learning the Force through being in his company and being active, they found Kevan, but it was not Kylo who killed him. Paquin did that.

They then returned to the Alderaan station, and learned that Hux was missing…and Commandant Hux was there. They pursued Hux to Coruscant, and Kylo caught up with Mira, but was unable to finish her off. She escaped with the Resistance.

Kylo returned to the base with Hux, only to be ousted shortly afterwards. He, Gnaeus, Ariel, and Paquin had to leave…though there was a brief rift between him and Paquin as she didn’t seem to want to leave. They united with Snoke, who sent them off to the kyber crystals, only there to meet the Resistance and be forced back.

On a losing streak, Kylo returned, defeated, to Snoke. And he suffered for it, having his mind violated and read, twisted in agony but not in memory. It was difficult to think and talk for a while when all he could think of was the pain and the failure. The Knights stuck with him as they were exiled to Korriban to ‘train’, and there they met Anakin Skywalker. To the surprise of all, Kylo Ren was unswayed by Anakin’s words. It was not, in fact, Anakin that he admired. Only Darth Vader. Yet, it irritated him that in death Anakin never learned, and the drunken comments of Paquin also irritated him. He stormed off to train against the droids, and there put Snoke’s training to the test; he obliterated the droids, the room, and himself, falling into an unconscious state.

Random Facts

  • Only admires Darth Vader, not Anakin Skywalker.
  • Does regret killing Han Solo. Does regret that Kevan had to die. Feels guilt for Mira, as well, and will regret killing Leia and Luke.
  • His respect of Snoke is rivaled only by his absolute fear of Snoke.
  • Wants to unravel the mysteries of Darth Plagueis the Wise to prove to the Jedi that the Sith are superior.
  • "Ren" was not his choice. It was the name that Snoke gave him and he does not know why.
  • His ship is not named.
  • Neglect in childhood caused him to cling to anyone who shows him any positive affection, but also to mistrust them severely. Serious, serious trust issues.

Gnaeus Ren

Name: Gnaeus Ren

Previous Names: Kristoph Reynolds

Age: 27

Affiliation: Knights of Ren, formerly First Order

Hair: Brown, wavy, long enough to fall over his ears and go a bit down his neck.

Eyes: Green

Height: 5'10"

Body Type: Athletic, but not the sort earned from exercise so much as an active life. Defined muscles, but almost always hidden under black.

Attire: Knight armor, of course. Or black tanktops and sweatpants if he ever gets downtime.

Notable Aspects: Normal, red lightsaber.

History:

Gnaeus Ren was born Kristoph Reynolds on a Dolstan to parents who were a part of the Pimbrellan League. He had a normal life, attended a normal school, and generally was content. It all changed when Dolstan was caught by surprise by pirates and slavers. The other two planets in the league did not let them know of it, nor did the New Republic, who was in hot pursuit of them. Yet, they still made it to Dolstan. They still landed and thought to “restock” there, and unfortunately not just on food. They needed slaves, too, to continue funding their campaigns through the universe.

Gnaeus was sixteen, hopelessly in love with one of his peers, and he still remembers her screams and his helplessness. The New Republic showed up, far too late for Gnaeus to care. They exterminated the ‘pirates’ without mercy…and everything near them. Gnaeus was left in the debris, buried in the flaming metal of ships and his school. He crawled out. He found his young love and brought her out, as well. His parents were still alive. They tried to teach him to forgive and forget, but the more he learned about the situation through the news, the less he could forgive.

He came upon Kevan Ren by chance, when the Knight was speaking to the League, and Kevan recognized what he was. He offered him the chance to join, and when Gnaeus thought of fighting the New Republic and getting revenge, he jumped at the chance, though he was only seventeen. He hadn’t finished school. He hadn’t gone near as far as his parents hoped…he’d do quite the opposite. When he was stripped of his name and his old life, his “light” was determined to be all that he was meant to be. He ripped apart the League as Anakin Skywalker once ripped apart the Separatists. He blamed them and the New Republic for what happened, since there had been forewarning, but none of it was shared, all in a gambit to catch the pirates unaware. It didn’t remove the pain. He knew his parents would be disappointed in what he’d done. He was certain they were aware; he made sure to never mention them. Best to let Kylo and the others think they were dead, too. Dead like everything he’d ever wanted in life. There was no turning back now. He wanted power, to make sure things like that would never happen, but he’s been perpetuating it.

He’s become what he hates—a pirate of a sort. He steals artifacts from others, and he’s killed his fair share of people to get them. He’s not enslaved or raped anyone, but he’s heard enough begging and crying when he takes what is only a precious heirloom to others, for himself and the Knights. He has enjoyed the adventures and the travel, though. He tends to only think of the positives, and never reflects on the unsavory parts. After all, they're going to make the universe better, so that things like what happened to his planet, never happen to anyone, ever again. And he continues on, always thinking there will come a day when the First Order will have the Universe in its grasp, and then they’ll be able to defend it. And then maybe he could stop this. The threat of the Jedi would be gone. Except now they’re not with the First Order. Kevan Ren and Mira Ren are traitors. And he’s been banished to Korriban with the other Knights after several failures.

Random Facts

  • Parents still alive, named Brandon and Hayley
  • First love was named Ana Schaefer
  • His love of fast food and fried food knows no bounds.
  • Before joining the Knights, he had wanted to see his homeworld join the New Republic. Naturally, they did...in response to his attack. The New Republic has not done any better at protecting them.

August Tarkin

The-macallan-Kevin-McKidd.jpg

Name: "Governor" August Tarkin

Age: 51

Affiliation: Eriadu/Outer Rim, "Imperial Council", Centrists.

Hair: Short, red hair, some strands of gray starting to show.

Eyes: Bright blue.

Height: 6'

Body Type: Lean, light muscle tone not obvious under most of the attire he wears. Skin seems close to the bone regardless, very slender fingers and features that seem elongated even if he is only 6'.

Attire: Flared military-esque pants, belted tunics and high collars—the fashion of the Empire, modified slightly to the times, but still sleek and no-nonsense.

Notable Aspects: Sunken cheeks of the Tarkins, and a developing widow’s peak. Prominent eyebrows used when mocking people.

History:

August Tarkin was related to Wilhuff Tarkin as his cousin, though he saw Wilhuff as his uncle. He was son of Jova Tarkin, the “Ghost of the Carrion Plateau”. Younger than Tarkin by many years, as his father did not see fit to have children until much later in life, he was not able to take the same trial as him because he had destroyed the Carrion Spike challenge, and took it for his ship’s name in memory of it. So, another had to be developed for him, and he would be the first ever Tarkin to conquer it, though his son, Johann, would follow. The Carrion Plataeu awaited him as his challenge when he turned fourteen. It was where his father always was. He was mostly raised by Wilhuff’s family, and his own mother, as well as the parents of his peers. He was, more or less, raised by a village. He was taught to “live like a beast”—and it is one three aspects that make him up. Beast, Diplomat, and Socialite.

Beast came first, and was developed on the Carrion Plateau. There, August learned that the rules he’d learned in life were all lies. He learned to think like a beast, a predator, and he learned to hunt like one. His years on the Carrion taught him how to switch that thinking over to his engagements with sentients, as well. The right posturing, the right words, and he could have a human all but rolling over on their belly in submission. He learned how to weed out the weak ones, and the ones who craved leadership even if they’d never admit it. He learned how to play them, while learning how the Tarkins had mastered the planet Eriadu, and how much work that must have truly taken, while he was out in the untamed lands that the Tarkins allowed to exist as their playground and trial lands. His final trial, as it was, involved surviving the rapids of Orrineswa River where a pride of nexu had set up along the banks. He had to survive not only the rapids, but also the mouth of the river, for a day. If he made it back alive, he’d be taken in. If not, his bones would be left to rot. He’d be forgotten. Obviously, he survived.

He then went on to an Academy in Coruscant, when Wilhuff called him, and played their games for a while. He did his research there. Eriadu and its people wanted to be akin to Coruscant; he wanted Eriadu to be better. He learned how it all functioned and “endured” the mockery of his peers…and by endure, he mostly destroyed them. He never killed them, but he would defeat them in combat, wreck their reputations, or otherwise ruin them beyond repair. He fell in step with Wilhuff while he was there with the Emperor and Vader. He learned of many things there, but never as much as he craved. It was how he learned of Commandant Hux, a young upstart who thought he had genius ideas and whom Wilhuff was concerned over. August eventually learned what the Commandant was up to. He was one of the few Wilhuff trusted enough to vent to, and it was from Wilhuff he also took the habit of journaling. He has a journal for every year, going back to when he first entered the academy at Coruscant. Supposedly, he’s going to turn them into a memoir, as Wilhuff meant to do. All Wilhuff’s writings were lost in the Death Star.

August was quite shaken by that incident. He went right back to Eriadu shortly after graduating, and secured the world after that to make sure it didn’t fall to the rebels, and succeeded in holding the fort. He was, then, the patriarch despite his youth. Jova was dead. Wilhuff’s parents were dead.

From Beast he became Diplomat, posturing in all the right ways to maintain Eriadu sovereignty. He took power and brought everything into order. He became governor and played the senate games. He taxed, and used the taxes to start cleaning up Eriadu’s pollution problem. He fought back against everything thrown at him from the New Republic when it rose, and all but defected completely. However, he knew the need to stay involved, and so he did, learning from his enemies in the Core and stealing what he could. Eriadu did not have the population, but he developed its technology quickly, and he passed on the information to other Imperialists who played in the Outer Rim. They had one goal that united them—the Outer Rim. They understood the New Republic wouldn’t help, but they knew what would happen if they openly rebelled. They’d be destroyed. He only joined forces with those Imperialists who denied the First Order, though, and assisted them in maintaining their sovereignty. It stung, and he knows it, but he wanted his message clear: he was not joining an organization with no new good ideas, and no clear plans. That was how the First Order appeared to him at first.

Clever name, ‘First Order’—but what is the First Order of business?”

From Diplomat then, to Beast. He remembers pointedly asking that of one of Wilhuff’s fellow men. When they stumbled over their answer, he left the meeting abruptly and warned them against coming to Eriadu. When they did, he reminded them why the ‘Tarkin Rush’ and ‘Tarkin Doctrine’ exist with his name on it. He’s ignored them for years ever since he learned the Carrion Spike ship ended up their hands, purposefully, embarrassed and enraged that they somehow got that ship.

And so, he shifted from Beast to Socialite. August met Julia on Eriadu. A woman of a prominent family, she had also gone to school on Coruscant, but different times, and different places. They met during the celebration of Eriadu’s conquest by the humans, and Tarkin fell far quicker than he’s willing to admit. She played all the right games, and it was soon obvious to the pair of them that they were a good match. Though, August was wary that she was just interested because of his position, her steadfast devotion and patience proved otherwise, as all the temptations and tests he put before her, she passed. They wed, and had only one son—Johann, their pride and joy. He has not gone to Coruscant for schooling, as no Galactic schools are there for him. He’s grown instead in Eriadu’s own academy, but August makes sure he gets a tour of the universe. Through his son’s activities, he gets to venture out.

One of those ventures brought him to Cimarosa, a planet he wanted his son to learn from—only for that planet to fall under attack right as Snoke approached Tarkin for an alliance. Tarkin brushed it off—he wasn’t making deals with middlemen, number one. He knew, however, what was going to come next. He left for Cimarosa, knowing that now he had to join forces with another group, for his planet’s sake. He isn’t sure now what role will be needed—it all depends on General Hux, and how bitter the boy is over the lack of support Tarkin provided to the First Order.

Brendol Hux II

original.gif

  • Name: General Brendol Hux

    Age: 34

    Affiliation: First Order

Hair: Short and red, always neatly slicked back and away from his face. Killer sideburns.

    Eyes: Blue

    Height: 6'1"

Body Type: Long and lean. Toned, but not particularly buff.

Attire: His General uniform. At all times. Usually accompanied by his First Order General Coat, which he fails to put his arms through the sleeves.

Notable Aspects: Red hair, General bands on his uniforms.

Brendol Eugene Hux is the illegitimate son of Brendol Hux and Roisin Orla, born on the Outer Rim planet of Arkanis. The only reason Hux knows of his mother’s name is because it is on his birth certificate. His father was never married to Roisin or anyone else. At the time of Hux’s birth, they were not in a relationship and Hux is sure that they never were to begin with, other than a brief love affair that resulted in him being conceived.

His mother was not a part of his childhood or any of his life past his birth. His father, instead of coming up with something that wouldn’t hurt a child’s heart, straight told him his mother left after he was born. Hux didn’t know any better as a young boy, but as he grew older he suspected that his mother didn’t just leave, that his father may have done something to her. He liked to believe that she wouldn’t have left and that she would have fought against the upbringing his father forced upon him, had his father not done something to her.

None of that was confirmed, of course. Not much other than her name was confirmed, and that wasn’t even by his father. Brendol didn’t like speaking of Hux’s mother. Hux doesn’t even know what she looks like but has an idea based on his own features, the ones which his father lacks. But that’s not much, considering he looks quite a bit like his father.

Hux didn’t spend much time thinking about his mother.

He spent four years on Arkanis with his father, as Brendol worked as Commandant for the academy there and had his own class of cadets. Shortly after the Galactic Empire fell, the two fled Arkanis along with his father’s droid, DeeDee. The droid was evil in the younger Hux’s eyes and she unfortunately played a large role in raising him. The three remained in the Outer Rim as Hux was raised.

Hux was always raised on stories of the Empire’s greatness, instead of bedtimes stories and fairytales. He had dreams of becoming the next Palpatine since he could understand words. But during training missions as a cadet, he was exposed to the mess that was the Mid and Outer Rims, brought on by the Empire. While he recognized the bad of the Empire, he still thought the New Republic was too weak and too inattentive. He silently composed his own way of things, one that the galaxy would benefit from.

Long before he was a cadet, his father implemented a lot of those training techniques in raising him. Harsh and unforgiving, nothing but the best in academics and such other aspects. While academics were no problem, physical aspects were a challenge. He was a thin boy all his childhood, too thin. No muscle. That was a disappointment to his father, even though he himself was not a brick wall.

That became a problem at the age of fourteen when it came time to finally become a cadet. The left over Imperials had somehow pooled together and built a small, undetectable academy. It wasn’t hard, considering little to no attention was paid to the Outer Rim. But once again, Brendol’s techniques he’d used with cadets in secret were not accepted. He agreed to teach the cadets in a usual fashion, but that was all a lie.

Brendol Junior was put through the ringer, he was not coddled by his father. He was put through brutal physical and mental training, too harsh for such young men and his training was amplified much more than anyone else. If the other parents had known, such training wouldn’t have happened. Especially when it came to the ‘natural selection’ parts of things. At the age of 17, right before graduation from the rank of cadet, they were put through an unauthorized test.

Brendol had weeded out the weak, those who would not do well in his idea of a military. He tasked the strong, which Hux had fortunately grown to be, with offing them. It would be made to look like an accident.

Hux was never friends with any of his fellow cadets. Yes, he’d played games with them during free time and ate with them, slept in the same room and all, but they were never kind to Hux. His illegitimacy was not unknown to them, him frequently being called ‘bastard’ and the like. But despite that, there was still a twinge of guilt following the squeeze of the trigger.

Soon after that, the First Order was coming together under the noses of the New Republic. Hux quickly rose through the ranks with his brilliance and clear skills with ease, ‘bastard’ soon turning into ‘General.’ He became the youngest General, even from the times of the Empire, at the age of twenty-four. He barely beat out his father, who was the next highest rank at the time. While his father may not have seen it as such, Hux saw it as a race. Of both proving to his father that he wasn’t as useless as he know doubt had always thought him to be and beating him out so his corrupt views wouldn’t be put in place.

Of course, despite that purpose, he still let his father push him into funding his Stormtrooper program and let him take control of that. Hux agreed and became generally apathetic towards that aspect of things. The Order grew rapidly under Hux. And then, when Snoke approached, Brendol pushed for Hux to agree.

He did when Snoke came out of the woodworks, as powerful then as he was now. Many outsiders believe Snoke founded the Order, but that was not true.

Soon after an alliance was forged and Hux submitted, Kylo Ren was pushed to meddle in things. While only a few years younger than himself, Hux found him incredibly immature and objected to his presence every chance he got. Many attempts to reject Ren resulted in a mutual hate for each other.

It wasn’t until years later that Hux would so much as tolerate any Knight Snoke placed on Hux’s bases, not until Mira Ren was tasked with accompanying him on a diplomatic mission in Ren’s absence. There he grew fond of the woman, she wasn’t as insufferable as the Commander of the Knights.

It was strange for him to very easily befriend her and that caused more than just anger when she betrayed the Order, it caused hurt. With that bitterness in him, he found it initially easy to bring Mira to the hands of Snoke when the Sith gave the order for it. Though, that bitterness dissipated soon after, even though she’d knocked him out and handcuffed him, dragging him around Hoth and nearly abandoning him on Coruscant.

There the liking for Mira returned, oddly enough, and the woman implanted ideas in his head that reminded him of his original goals with the Order. Though he wasn’t initially going to go through with the plans she’d placed in his head and though he was Snoke hadn’t outwardly expressed any desire to kill Hux, he still made the move of ousting the Knights and breaking ties with Snoke.

Soon after he made moves to repair the damage that had been done by Kylo Ren and Snoke’s orders, sending troopers out to collect kyber crystals. There his men ran into the Resistance and he was reunited, by voice, with Mira. Once again she convinced him of something, this time to meet with General Organa for peace. And so he agreed, a meeting arranged.

That meeting was interrupted by Snoke, who learned of the meeting from Mira’s dreams, and it led to him being picked up by the Order’s first traitor, Finn. They were chased off of Cimarosa by Snoke’s clones, Mira and Poe following after them. They crashed on Jakku where they spent the night in a cat’s home, a cat which Hux also began to have fondness for.

Mira discovered a book there, shortly before Luke and Rey picked them up, to which Hux didn’t hesitate to hide it for her. Risks were thought of, but not for more than a second. Shortly after, the two Jedi on a hunt for said book picked them up and returned the group, including the newly acquired cat, to Cimarosa.

Kevan Ren

tumblr_mb16amIU6h1rhrk4vo4_1280.jpg

Name: Kevan Ren

Previous Names: Ivan Dulchellon

Age: 32

Affiliation: First Order (Formerly), Knights of Ren (formerly), Smuggler/His Own (at the end)

Hair: Black, cut relatively short.

Eyes: Blue

Height: 6’1”

Body Type: Athletically muscular, not wrestler-muscular. Tanned skin.

General Attire: Usually whatever formal or business attire was the norm on the world he was visiting, or his black knight armor.

Notable Aspects: Red lightsaber that had an adjustable length.

History:

Kevan Ren was born on Lasan. He never knew his parents. He never knew his name. Like most on Lasan, when the Empire reigned supreme, his parents were killed and he was left an orphan – spared because an Imperial had mercy and decided some of the young could be put to better use in the Imperial academies.

So Kevan was taken to one, and there he was given a name he’s forgotten. The Rebel Alliance eliminated the Imperial presence on the planet quick enough, but they did little to help those left behind by the war. The orphans, like Kevan, who had nowhere to go and nothing to look towards. No future. No education. Nothing.

So Kevan took the name Ivan Dulchellon from an opera he heard once, the Cantata of Cora Vessora. He wanted to embody the strength of that character who assisted Cora Vessora in her revenge, a woman he admired in the play for raging against the imperfect universe and all its unfairness.

He started a gang among the other orphans who had no place to be. They learned to steal, they learned to drive and build ships, they learned to spy, and eventually, they learned to kill. Kevan became a smuggler who looked up to other smugglers like Han Solo, and he was insanely lucky – he didn’t know then that much of his luck was attributed to his Force sensitivity. That wouldn’t happen until at the age of 17 he met Mira Ren, and his luck ran out on Korriban. He was more or less shanghai’d into joining the Knights of Ren.

He cast one name for another. Now he could be like Cora, he had Force powers, and he wasn’t Jedi or Sith, according to Kylo and Mira. He could make a difference…or so he thought.

Then he played a role in genocide and the dose of reality never quite left him. He was with the bad guys. And so were Mira and Kylo…children, in his mind, brainwashed and threatened into doing as the Chessmaster demanded. And so was he – only his eyes never shut again to the reality. When they joined the First Order, and he saw how young Hux was, he realized that Hux was among the ranks of brainwashed and controlled children, too. Believed it even more when he learned Hux was a Cadet.

He found sanity in joking, and this seemed to make it appear that he had an easy charm and was also, more or less, harmless. He was given tasks as something of a diplomat, convincing people to align with the First Order. He did it, even though he wanted to tell them to go running for the hills, because he wanted allies for himself. Wanted people to like him, wanted to convince himself that these people liked what he said and would end up supporting what he wanted, when the time was right.

Wanted to hope they might pressure the First Order or Knights into changing.

Hope is a bitter pill.

He made friends of Kylo and Mira. He was Mira’s apprentice, and he did learn much about the Force from her, before she was cast off to Wild Space. Learned more on his own, too. He wanted to maintain that friendship to try and understand just why they supported Snoke, but he became more and more convinced that Kylo was brainwashed and Mira was terrified.

Then Hosnian Prime happened, and a part of Kevan just…died. He felt it through the Force, a searing agony that unfortunately didn’t go unnoticed while he was in one of his guises. His reaction would be marked, he would be researched, and he would be captured by the rebels when it was confirmed that he was Kevan Ren, and not Sylus. He was captured on Takodana, when he planned to reunite with allies he’d known under the name of Ivan – old friends. He was looking for a way out, and so it didn’t take much to get him talking.

He wanted to talk. He knew the consequences, but damn them. Damn everything.

What he didn’t expect was Mira to come save him. Nor his freedom. And once he had it, he got reckless – he wanted to rage like Cora and make an impact, change, be the middle that she was. Unfortunately, he died, not nearly prepared enough…

…but as in the opera, when Cora refused the Jedi and Sith, and the Sith killed her loved ones, she began her journey. So, too, did his former master begin her journey with vengeance, turning Hux into the accomplice, Ivan. Kevan would have been proud. And made jokes about Hux’s stripper alter ego.

  • His name with the Academy he was registered at was "Rickert Hardwin", a name he would have loved too much.
  • His parents had named him Davin Orels.
  • Though he never fully believed in Snoke, Kevan did get addicted to the life of luxury and for a while that was enough to allow him to ignore his guilt.
  • He still kept in touch with some people under the name "Ivan Dulchellon", always tried to be prepared for "plan b".
  • He named his ship: Nymph.
  • Lover of the opera - has seen most of the shows on Coruscant.
  • Has nicknames for literally everyone and uses those nicknames to hide his correspondences and trails. Has several different false identities for himself, too.

Knights of Ren

Kevan/Mira

Kevan Ren

Ariel Ren

  • 079f71645dc8b3447e14582eca18924c--auburn-hair-colors-amy-pond.jpg

    Name: Ariel Ren

    Previous Name: Nereid Therman

    Age: 26

Affiliation: Knights of Ren; First Order (Formerly)

Hair: Red; long and straight, falling just below the waist. Worn loose a majority of the time, worn in a single braid the rare times it’s worn up.

    Eyes: Blue-green.

    Height: 5’10

Body Type: Slender and surprisingly athletic. Willowy with very little curves.

General Attire: Probably has the most varied. Mostly wears black armor. Light colored, loose fabrics when stationed somewhere hot. Appreciates slutty dresses every once in a while. Sometimes wears proper workout clothes.

    Notable Aspects: Red hair. Tall.

Ariel Ren was born with the name Nereid Therman to parents Nadine and Wyatt, owners of a small convenience store. She was born the planet Abregado-rae, a Core World. Despite it being a Core World, it was often compared to planets in the Outer Rim. It was an urban planet, but essentially lawless. Quite the smuggler’s hangout. It had been a disastrous planet before the Empire, but became even worse following the rise and fall.

Even with it being at the center of the galaxy with worlds like Chandrila and Coruscant, that hosted the Senate and such relations, it was neglected by the New Republic.

Nereid’s Force-sensitivity was apparent right at birth. Every time she grew upset, something would be destroyed. Every time she was happy, things would be thrown askew. Her mother accepted it, happily so. What else was Nadine to do, after all? Nereid was her daughter. But her father didn’t think quite the same way. He was scared of his daughter and her abilities, even as small as she was.

He grew up during the reign of Vader and Palpatine, he knew nothing but to fear the power. But it was no excuse for neglecting his daughter.

Despite the lack of a bond with her father, Nereid had a happy childhood. She was very close with her mother. She was very intelligent, acing every class she ever took. She was incredibly social and made friends easily. Her control over the Force was very rocky. Her mother tried her best to help her with it, teach Nereid ways to calm herself when the Force grew out of hand. But Nadine wasn’t Force-sensitive and could do little to actually help her daughter.

She was a very happy, normal child until the age of 16. It was then that Nereid and Wyatt were forced to realize what kind of planet they lived on. The store her parents owned was the target of a robbery, one that ended poorly for Nadine.

The loss of her mother sent Nereid into a downward spiral. Having been so terribly close with Nadine, and with her father as distant as he was, Nereid struggled to cope. But, with the planet being in the poor state it was and Nereid’s knack for making quick friends, she quickly found herself in a spot that exposed her to her new coping mechanism: alcohol. She first tried it at a party, and it made her feel warm. All of her pain and sadness was somehow washed away for that brief period of time.

And when she woke up the day after, sober, all of it was back. And so she kept on drinking and drinking, as she felt no pain when she was drunk. Of course, she lost all control of the Force when she was drunk. It would take her a while to find “stability” in her drunken state, to remember the exercises her mother taught her. But in that moment, that caused issues with her father.

They’d fight and Wyatt would witness the results of Nereid’s rage. He managed to live with it, avoid her, but only for a year. When Nereid only continued to fall down a dark pit, as she was still under the planets legal age of adulthood, he put her in a rehabilitation facility. While he convinced himself it was an act of care, Nereid only saw it as an act of fear. A way to get rid of her.

Nereid did not stay long in rehab. It was easy to simply walk out when the Force was on her side. She did not return to her father, she took the opportunity to escape from him altogether. It was easy to find a ride off of her planet, for a price. She met a young man, who happened to be a criminal wanted in many sectors of the galaxy. He offered her a ride, though there was a bit of a price, that Nereid was surprisingly happy to pay. Which would end up being Nereid’s entrance into the world of sex. She found that she enjoyed it. It made her feel less lonely for a time.

She didn’t stay with him long and found herself always moving. Stealing things along the way to help her live. Finding people to sleep with, which is how she found places to stay. But while on her own, she had to witness her instability with the Force. And after she managed to relearn ways to control it, she took an interest in advancing her knowledge. She soon found herself digging into information on the Sith and the Jedi. Literally, digging. She quickly began exploring old ruins. She managed to pick up on learning the long-dead languages she discovered in the tombs and ruins. She found herself gaining knowledge, finding artifacts (which she usually sold to buy alcohol).

And that was how she’d end up meeting Gnaeus. Around the age of 19, she found herself exploring the same Sith ruins as a Knight of Ren. Of course, then she didn’t know what a Knight was. She didn’t know who he was and thought he was some stupid smuggler that thought he could hit the jackpot by exploring the heavily trapped tombs. But, lone behold, he was Force-sensitive too. Nereid saw it as an opportunity. She finally found someone else who knew the Force.

And from there she was taken to Snoke, who was happy to accept another Force-sensitive into his cause.

She began by befriending Gnaeus, quite easily. They both shared a knowledge of the Sith and Jedi. And not long after, she became fond of Kevan. She found him fun, welcoming. It took her much more time to come to like Mira and Kylo. For one, Mira was mostly off in Wild Space and Kylo was off with the First Order. And neither of them were very outgoing.

After discovering that they’d all underwent name changes, Nereid did so as well. She decided on Ariel, a character from an old holovid. It was still similar to her old name, in the sense that both Nereid and Ariel were names of water creatures. But it was new, her new name, her new life that she could then shape.

With her talents in research and already developed exploration skills, she was set on the path of doing just that. Exploring many planets with resources she didn’t have before. And then she found herself on Tatooine. And after that, everything changed drastically.

Ariel and the other Knights were forced together after two betrayals and being excommunicated from the First Order. But it wasn’t all bad. They gained a new member, and it forced the four of them to work as a team. Bond, even. Which wasn’t bad for them, but wasn’t good for Snoke.
