This RP takes place sometime during the High Republic Era, based on the upcoming timeline that's having a big publishing campaign next year. While this era starts 200 years before The Phantom Menace, this story will take place over 100 years after the fact. Because there's limited information in this point in canon Star Wars history, I've decided to take some liberties.
Shimun reasoned she'll never get accustomed to the planet's air. With her environmental suit damaged from the crash, she--like the rest of the surviving crew-- had to endure its rough atmosphere without a respirator. Her human counterparts acquainted it to wildfire smoke in a tropical climate, where breathing was twice as hard than usual. And though every breath felt like a flame stoking in her lungs, the medic ensured the team that the air was toxin free. Up above shined a single star. Its azure mass took up most of the sky, at times making it difficult to tell what time of the day it was, as it seemed to shove the planet's lunar body out of sight. The devorian led her team through the iridescent forest, concentrating on the shapes and geography before her. She drowned out the sound of the crew's labored breathing with the mantras of her trade, calming mind and body, but it did little to comfort her. For the first time in a long time, her faith in the Force had wavered; Shimun didn't know if its power had the same influence out here--wherever here was--as it did in the galaxy she was familiar with.
'Trust in the force,' She said to herself, over and over again, until the force eventually responded in kind.
"Look!" Her navigator said, pointing off to the side. Having reached an opening through the foliage, Shimun turned her head to peer out into the open valley. Amidst the shimmering plant life stood a large structure in the distance.
"What is that?" Her Chief of Security asked, slapping his helmet to clear its glitching HUD to capture a better view.
"Whatever it is, it's made by someone or something. Meaning we've found civilization!" The navigator said with a sigh of relief. The rest of the team cheered with elation, but Shimun could not deny the feeling in her gut, nor how the Force responded to its presence. But after days of traveling on foot after having crashed on this planet, it was still a welcomed sight to behold. We're not alone. Shimun thanked the stars. She clicked on the recorder attached to her wrist pad, the first of two com links that found its way to the nearest satellite relay.
-- Approximately 64 hrs post crash site. Seven survivors strong. Less than half of our rations left. We've trekked 48 kilometres north and finally discovered signs of civilization on this planet. Heading to its destination now. Will attempt to establish outside short burst communication with the Galactic Republic once we get there. If anyone reads this, please forward this SOS immediately to the Galactic Republic's Starlight Beacon. May the Force be with us. Over and out. ---
101 BBY. One hundred years after Chancellor Lina Soh's campaign to spread the Galactic Republic's influence into the Outer Rim, a special Rescue & Exploration Team is sent into the far reaches of space. Under the command of current Chancellor Utrili, their mission is to find the lost pioneers that spearheaded Soh's outreach programs; many of whom were stranded after The Great Disaster plucked them out of hyperspace indefinitely. This team is picking up where their predecessors left off under a new campaign called: Operation Life Raft.
Our group of 4-5 literate, active and friendly RPers signed onto Operation Life Raft as rescuers and explorers. We'll be traveling to unclaimed systems and offering our help wherever needed, with the overarching plot's focus on discovering the whereabouts of Jedi Consular Shimun, and the survivors of her exploration team, as well as other exploration teams that haven't returned. Jedi, Diplomats, Republic Troopers, Pilots, and Science Specialists are some of the available classes. Contracted smuggler-types are allowed, but only because they have some experience navigating through the outer areas we'll be exploring. As far as Sith and other bad guys go, well, we'll just have to play and find out
Any classes not mentioned that you'd like to play as, please PM me to discuss further. Standard site rules apply.
