I am waiting for Kimberly to be online because I want to work on her with what might have happened in our last assignment together.

No worries.

Just a heads up for everyone: Tuesday is my longest work day. Usually over 12 hours. Wed and Thurs are shorter at 10 hours. (So long as my Boss doesn't add to Wed and Thursday - or weather isn't a big mess (snow), I usually have some time on those days.) Monday and Friday are usually the shortest days - if my boss doesn't add last minute stuff. Weekends I normally have off.

Despite that I have pretty decent writing energy. But don't let me push folks to the point of getting burnt out.

I'm PRETTY SURE I can post every day once it gets going, I'm on lockdown and working from home.

I would post Savir now, but I'm fixed on the idea of coming up with what happened during his first mission with Kimberly, because it was such a disaster waiting to happen. I just need it in their bio now :D
If you have a moment, here is an exemplary post that shows the absolute tragedy Savir had to deal with:

Right? XD
I totally need to figure out how they even survived going into a warzone with that on board.

The best joke was that I had originally intended Savir himself to be slightly dangerous because he is not quite a normal Vulcan.
But it never came into play because he was golden compared to everyone else.

I can't even imagine under what conditions StarFleet would allow a ship to operate like that.

I am convinced that the whole intention was for them to be cannon fodder, which is why I am sad it never got far enough for everyone to realize that

The title should have been: The Sane, the Bad, and the Worst - or something like that.

Heh I think the only sane people there was Savir, because he can force himself to, Kimberly, because she is a robot, and possibly the one two-gendered person from a planet whose name I forgot. XD

Whoa. Apologies, I'm not online much on the weekends mostly owing to it being family time.

I'll get her sheet up shortly, after I've glanced over the others to note the format/tweaks.

MechanicalSnake, I'll cheerfully catch you on Discord when I get the chance. :)

Poke me any time, I'll probably be there.
Except for now, now I'm in bed.

Well, decided against stuff like transwarp beaming in favor of having the Captain, ay least, arrive by Runabout (Connor) for one of though fly around the ship scenes before docking.

Runabout Reese will be sent for the Master Chief.

There are 8 Runabouts, so other can be picked up from other places. But they should be near Earth unless they are picked up enroute to the mission area.

Im gonna write a bit more to my characters, specifically the occurrences aboard the USS Freedom during the 3 or so years between its creation and its current downtime, including more information on the Borg fight that took Lieutenant Franklins leg.

Now we just need Savir ... and RPLongAndProsper if he is going to join us.

One technical limit I am wondering about for Kimberly, is the Direct Synaptic Synchronization. Communications is key to that working. Subspace comms has a limit. (22 LY for instantaneous communications. But transmission speeds is till pretty fast. She should still be in touch even if her updates are weeks old. But ... would the signals be strong enough?) LOL, I love the idea. It is just the communications intelligence specialist in me wondering ...

I've yet to play Kimberly in a game that's lasted long enough for the topic to come up. :P

The original androids prior to exposure to Mudd shared processing power, with a central unit (Norman) serving to coordinate complex analysis requiring some-to-all collective processing power. The Kimberly Series are one of three series commissioned to go off planet, which puts them beyond the effective range of the Galorian IV android hive mind and its coordinator role. Direct Synaptic Synchronization is intended to allow her to offload her memories/experiences back to Galor IV. I'm running with the assumption those memories gets dumped in a Federation server for analysis before being passed back to the actual android hive mind, I figure Starfleet has security requirements given Kimberly #49 is an officer with access to non-public data or who might observe something that Starfleet decides to classify. Once it clears the flag, her memories join the collective (and the non-classified items become part of the shared memory pool for the Kimberly Series).

So, I mostly see this as a periodic (daily, weekly?) data dump rather than an always-on connection due to the limitations of the interstellar distances involved. It does mean she's entirely dependent on her onboard processors, and can potentially result in a logic loop (although I figure she has a cutout timer that if something's taking her more than 60 seconds to process, it's appended to a log and passed on to Starfleet/the hive mind where larger resources can work it out). I do generally envision the Galor IV androids have roughly similar physical capabilities to Commander Data but individually inferior processing power (in part because they're probably equivalent to duotronic neural networks vs. Data's positronic brain, and in part because they never needed to be individually powerful given they were built in a collective).

I also imagine that her upload has a much lower cadence (maybe monthly?) because (A) it's larger, consisting of general updates pertaining to all Galor IV androids and more specific memories unique to the other 499 Kimberly Series and (B) likewise subject to Starfleet cybersecurity, to ensure nothing sneaky gets inserted into her code contrary to Federation interests.

Pretty much what I was thinking. Wouldn’t have hit Like if it was an issue.

LOL, I would bet just about anything that it has been longer for me. I just have the advantage of Netflix. Been binge watching ST: TNG and DS9 for the past several weeks.

My last Star Trek RP was run by someone else - who was very absent. So without mods I entered the RP only to have my poor Vulcan bunnied by another member. They had my character chomp into a hamburger and smile, then put words in my mouth.
