Realistic or Modern Spring Break is Suppose to be Fun right?

The sun pierced over the horizon only partially covered by clouds as the sun began to set for the day. the wind blew fiercely against the ocean making the semi-large yacht rock back and forth treading through the water with such certainty. Seagulls and various other birds you would find around the pacific coast flew overhead only a few landing on the main deck of the rather fancy Yacht before flying off with a few tidbits of food in their beaks. Music sounded from the speakers all throughout the boat, a little snack bar was set against a wall near one of the doors to the indoor cabins, along with some booze that was snuck in past the boarding staff when the teens were getting onto the boat yesterday. Everyone had sorted out the room sharing and stuff, so now everyone would probably be chilling on the boat or getting some food, doing some sort of thing.

Alright. It was his first time on a boat. He'd expected to feel a little off.

What he didn't expect was puking every time he managed to choke down something that wasn't soup or ice, the rocking of the waves making his stomach churn. Ah, well. It wasn't all that bad. He got to stay in bed, and... and... yeah. He got to stay in bed. It wasn't the worst way to spend spring break. It wasn't the best either, but you take what you can get. Jay was just happy they thought to invite him. Self deprecating? Maybe! But when wasn't he?

Turning to lay on his side with a groan, he thought about going on deck for a little while. Fresh air might do him some good, and he might as well appreciate the view while he wasn't about to hurl. No, he didn't mean the sea. He thought he deserved to at least gawk at some of the other passengers while he was here.

Another wave of nausea hit him, his eyes squeezing shut. Apparently not. He'd stay in bed just a little longer, lying awake as he listened to the noise above him.

Ali rolled on one of the outdoor couches that leaned against a railing, wearing her custom life jacket her mom bought her a while back for Christmas but she just never had a chance to use it! Usually, she was drowning before she had a chance to use it or smothering Zen with affection on the shoreline. The life jacket was black with a pastel pink wording on the back that said ‘Lost Dumbass, If found call xxx-xxx-xxxx’ In cursive, along with some nice pink stripes on the front, and a purple zipper, and buckles.

Ali wasn’t exactly sure what it said but was always told that it said something nice, and that the numbers were some morse code to use on those rectangular boxes everyone had, that was good enough this idiot! So now the pink haired girl was rather bored relaxing on the couch, she had already showed a seagull who was boss that tried to fight her for her plate of food and wasn’t sure on what to do now…..

Until the girl got up moving over to where her girlfriend was sitting and plopped down beside her crawling partially onto her lap, “Zen, Zen, Zen, Zennie, Zeeennnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn. I’m bored when do we get to the first stop of the trip.” she said engulfing her girlfriend into a big hug kissing her on the cheek a couple of times.

Mica had still been confused when she woke up, unable to believe she was invited to come on the trip. It wasn't that her friends didn't enjoy her but she had become so distant from most of them making sure she did her best to get though her last couple of years of school. Sure she had missed her friends especially the two closest ones she had originally had Scar and then of course the one who really brought her into the group because they had been friends since forever, Jane. Now she would occasionally hang out with her friends but she had really become distant mostly from Scar because of how she acted with her money and of course Mica never said anything to her about it. She could've caused an issue but it was easier to just throw herself into school and be the ambitious girl she had always been. As she got up out of her room she threw on a comfortable pair of shorts and loose flowing shirt over her bikini. She loved how she got to wake up and be on the ocean it was relaxing and everything seemed to be going well for her on this vacation.

Mica made it to the edge of the boat and held onto the side just breathing in the salty air. She couldn't imagine a better way to spend her break and it's not like her mom was going to say no. Mica had done so much for the family and was doing so much in school her mother had known she had needed a break and so she snatched up the chance to leave behind the town and be out on the sea. No land, no worries, no stress. Everything was smooth sailing for the shirt time of spring break.

Jane's favorite thing to come from moving from New York to Los Angeles was the beaches that California had. She loved laying on the beach soaking up the sun and listening to tunes, playing beach volleyball, but most of all she loved the water. So when Jane and a bunch of her friends got to go vacationing on a yacht, it was a dream come true. She could look at the ocean for hours just watching the boat make little waves in the water and look out for sea life. What made it even more special was that she got to go on the trip with all her friends especially her boyfriend Memo. This would be the first time the two of them would be away from parental watch and they also would be sharing a room. At first the thought of sharing a room made her a little anxious, but she trusted Memo with her life and she knew he wouldn't do anything that she wasn't ok with.

Jane was currently in the hot tub with her boyfriend Memo and their friends were scattered throughout the boat. The heat felt amazing against her skin and she was enjoying her boyfriend's company, but they had been in there awhile and her fingers were starting to prune. " I'm gonna go walk around as my legs have fallen asleep and my skin has become all wrinkly," Jane said to Memo. She kissed him on the cheek then she stood up and exited the hot tub.

After getting out, she found a towel and wrapped it about the purple and pink bikini that she was wearing. Jane then wandered around the ship until she found herself at the edge of the boat where she saw Mica looking over the railing at the crystal blue waters below. Mica and Jane go way back as they once were reeally and she was one of her first friends when Jane first moved here. Over the years the two had grown apart as Mica focused more on school and her family. She missed having Mica around more often and wanted to get back what they once had. Taking this as the perfect opportunity to talk to her, Jane quietly approached until she stood night next to her also looking at the water.

"Isn't it so wonderful out here. Being so close with nature and watching it all happen close up," Jane said to Mica with a warm smile on her face.

Sun and relaxation. Yep, this was definitely what Toby needed. He was currently reclining on a couch basking in the warm light, working on his tan. He already had the physique down, he just needed the golden, sun-kissed skin of a Greek god now. The first day had been somewhat of a slack off day for him, he mostly just wanted to unwind and not think about anything. The sound of the waves and the breeze were incredibly relaxing and couple of times he had nodded off. This was already shaping up to be a great vacation.

Toby let his eyes wander about the boat. His grin faltered for a moment as he noticed there were a lot of pairs that were split off. Of course he was happy for the several relationships between his friends, and yes he still hadn't figured out what the problem was with his last relationship, but that didn't stop him from feeling lonely every now and then. He shook his head to clear his thoughts. This was supposed to be a fun trip, no time for moping. He stood up to check up on his roommate; Jay. Poor guy hadn't quite taken to the seas yet. Toby felt bad that he couldn't enjoy the trip as much as everyone else.

After a gentle knock Toby entered the room he was staying in and leaned against the door frame. "Hey bud, how ya feeling? Need anything?" he asked as he crossed the room to his things looking for his shirt that he had left somewhere in the room before tanning. Svisttt Svisttt

The day had mostly gone according to plan. Everyone had arrived that afternoon at the docks, piled onto the yacht, and ever since had been enjoying one another’s company and the many facilities the small ship offered. No issues, no setbacks, just literal smooth sailing.

For the first time in a while Memo had forgone going to the gym after the advice from Jay over the group chat. Despite what he’d said about not wanting to miss a workout, missing out on the fun due to sore muscles sounded far worse. Besides he could afford to not work his back out for one week. Though, it seemed the poor guy couldn’t avoid it himself, having been hurling himself to Hell most of the day. He pitied him but at the same time he couldn’t help but be humored by Jay’s circumstance. Memo just hoped he’d get over it soon so he could finally get out of bed and start interacting with everyone.

Most of his own time on the boat had been with either Toby or Jane, though his girlfriend usually got the most attention. Here in the present it was just Guillermo and her in the hot tub, sitting close as usual and biding their time looking at the sky (oh and making out if no one was around/looking, but that’s off the record). Eventually she got up complaining about tired legs and pruning, which prompted the lighter toned Mexican to chuckle.

“I’ll be here if you need me, well unless I get hungry that is.”

Seeing as the boat was set on idle, Memo contemplated doing a few jumps off the boat but given the fact that he was in the hot tub it would only make the ocean underneath all the more cold. Perhaps he’d consider it later but for now he would rather relax. As his head rocked back to view the sunset on the horizon, he took careful note of the clouds rolling in and the wind blowing. It could be a cause for concern but right now he saw no reason why there’d be any issues. So he continued to relax.

Zen had her eyes shut and a smile on her face as she lounged in the deck chair under the sun in a black bikini top and a pair of jean shorts covering her bottoms. Her hair was in her usual low maintenance braids and some were tied back in a loose pony while the rest fell down her back haphazardly. She was so relaxed she was almost falling asleep, a rare feeling for her, and she loved it. Despite the fact that there were a few people on this trip that she would rather avoid, especially after the most recent party disaster where she had actually managed to MENTION her late sisters name around Scarlet. They hadn't talked for weeks after that, except where they needed to when competing for their school swim team in the last medley event. Because Scar was avoinding her, no doubt Mandy would be too. Still, she had others to talk to, plus everyone was in a much better mood than usual now that no one had any schoolwork or jobs to think about.

When Ali jumped on her lap, she woke from her half doze with a start. "Oh, geez, I was half asleep" She giggled, hugging the girl back "I think we'll get there sometime tomorrow hun." She said with a gentle smile "You wanna go for a dip in the hottub or something?" She asked "Or I can buy you another snack to eat?" She suggested

Rowan wasn't feeling too hot. The sea wasn't doing him to much good and he was having a lot of trouble trying to ignore it and stay his happy self. Rowan was in his room, looking desperately for his sea-sickness tablets. He'd hated boats since he was little but he hated spending spring break alone more than that. Finally he found them and popped two, hoping that soon they'd kick in. He'd said he'd bring some to Jay as well, since he'd started feeling sick but was unprepared, given he probably hadn't known the waves would do this to him. Speaking of which, the wind seemed pretty high today, he wondered if they were gonna have some rain. It was mostly blue skys now, but the sea was mildly choppy. Grabbing the packet, he headed for Jay's room and knocked on the door. "You guys making out in there? I got Jay the pills" He called and waited for one of them to open the door to the room.

Toby was one of his favorite people. He was pretty sure he'd seen Jay and Toby hanging out a fair bit. He was pretty sure it was innocent but he'd started to tease them constantly about being in a relationship with one another. It always seemed to make Jay blush a deep red. It allso covered up Rowan's longing for some kind of relationship himself. Toby was always alone too, but he turned every girl down (And there were a lot of girls who wanted him. He debated on weather or not he should ask Toby to help wingman him with Scarlet. All he got now were eyerolls accusations from his peers that he was a stalker. Basically, he wasn't making any headway at all. Why couldn't he like someone a little more... on his playing field. Like the mathlete from the chess team who was one of the only girls at school who would even talk to him.

The pink-haired girl giggled slightly as well finding the partially sleepy girlfriend of her’s was being rather adorable at the moment, “In a chair? Chairs aren’t for sleeping Zen they’re for forts and it'd hurt your back when you wake up” Ali spoke smiling cheekily, gently running one of her hand's against some of Zendaya's braids. “Tomorrow is like forever from now though," She paused for a moment to groan boredly, becoming a little more focused with playing with Zen's hair "and your cousin is making out with Jane in the tub. They said in the thingy that people talk through that we’re supposed to be stopping soon for an ocean swimming session. But the ocean is already swimming cause it’s the ocean it's always swimming. Then they also revealed the dinners for tonight that sound rather weird like one was called chicken under a brick? Doesn't that mean we have to eat a brick? Bricks don't sound good?”

Mica hadn't been expecting anyone to come up to the edge of the ship and when she heard Jane it caused her heart to jump a little. She had missed being around her friend as much as they used to be. She still would talk with Jane occasionally but she had lessened her conversations with most everyone. It was nice to have Jane approach and talk to her it made her feel as if Jane still cared for the friendship that Mica hadn't been putting effort into. She gave a small smile back to her friend and nodded, "It's beautiful out here. I've missed being with everyone." She needed Jane to know that she did miss hanging out with her and just being young students with little care in the world.

Mica however, knew that once they got back she would still be busy with her life and as much as she wanted the carefree life that once existed and gave her time deep down she knew it would still be hard to keep the friendships going. She wasn't one to explain how bad her situation was financially with her friends because she knew she wasn't the worst off in the group but she knew if she wasn't doing what she was doing she could be. So instead she just acted like it all revolved around college and that her goals were to get into school and just do well for herself. Not that she was just barely floating in the life her and her mother had. She kept herself relaxed for now trying not to let her over ambitious attitude get the best of her, "How have things been going with you and Memo?" she asked casually trying to make a light conversation with her friend, and boys were always easy to discuss.

Scarlett

Scarlett lounged on one of the pool chairs, eying Zen before tearing her gaze away. She still didn't forget that night where she let Yvonne's name slip. Yes, it's her sister... but being reminding of her hurt. They're not related, but they were closer than Scarlett was with her own parents. Grabbing the tanning lotion from the side table beside her as she started rubbing it onto her legs and arms. She shook her head in disbelief.

"And then, she was like. 'Woah, looks exactly like Yvonne's room.'" She turned to Mandy to see if she was even paying attention to her. Scarlett sighed and finished before passing the bottle to Amanda. "It wasn't a big deal, I guess. It's whatever." Things had been hard ever since Yvonne passed away, surely her own sister was going through the same thing. Say what you want about Scarlett, but even she had a little bit of a heart.

"Mandy? Earth to Amanda?"

Scarlett hated being ignored, especially by her best friend.

Well, that role technically went to her now, right?

Amanda Atkinson

Mandy was lying on a pool lounge chair next to her best friend Scarlett, who she was hardly paying attention too. She was mostly zoned out, gazing up at the sky. The large sunglasses she was wearing helped disguise the fact she wasn't paying attention. She snapped out of the daze when Scar passed the tanning lotion and said her name. Her friend was talking about how Zen said Yvonne's name. Mandy didn't particularly want to discuss this. Of course she was sad about Yvonne's passing, she was one of her good friends, but it was just easier to keep moving on with life. Dwelling on the matter would only lead to unhappiness and cracks on the surface. She could tell that Scarlett was annoyed with the fact that she continued as if it never happened, but she didn't care much.

"Uh huh. That's totally messed up," she nodded, sitting up to start applying the tanning lotion. She'd have to remember to avoid Zen. That's just what friends did, when one was upset and avoiding someone, the other did too. Mandy wasn't completely sure what the situation with Scar and Zen was, but she could tell it wasn't great. If it did end up being more than an annoyance, Mandy would have a bone to pick with Zen. She wasn't about to let this vacation be spoiled by dwelling on the past.

She finished applying the tanning lotion and leaned back onto her lounge chair. "Do you know when we're supposed to get to the first stop?" she asked, trying to change the subject.

Zen could feel eyes burning holes into the back of her head, turning she noticed Scar and her friend Mandy sitting fairly close to them. Clearly she was talking about her. Zen tried her best not to care but the whole dynamic bothered her. This was going to be a tough vacation if Scarlet wanted to start drama with her. She turned back to Ali, a little less serene than she was 5 seconds ago and tried to keep up with her train of thought "Oh, I'd love to go out for a little swim" She said nodding "Also... Chicken under a brick is just chicken made flat, like a steak. It's very nice, actually" She told her "You don't literally eat the brick"

"Oh i'm sorry I didn't mean to scare you," Jane said feeling a little bit guilty, but her friendly smile not wavering in the slightest. Jane really took Mica's words to heart when she told her that she missed being with everyone. The feeling was mutual as Jane really missed having her around. " Well I can't speak for everyone but I have really missed you too," Jane told Mica as she. Jane really wanted to suggest that they hang out more after the trip, but she decided to save that for later. Jane knew how busy Mica was and didn't want to put any more pressure on her.

When she asked about how Memo and her were doing she answered cheerfully that things were great and she was excited to spend time with him on this trip. It was true as things between the couple have never been better and Jane could see herself spending the rest of her life with him. Thinking back to her boyfriend she remembered that everyone was on the pool deck and since it was a beautiful, sunny day and she was still dripping wet, sun bathing might not be a bad idea.

"I was thinking of going sunbathing near the pool, do you want to join me?" Jane asked as she thought this was a perfect idea in two ways. The first spending more time with her good friend that she missed and maybe getting a tan.

Alianna

"But what if someone wants to eat the brick instead of a flat chicken?" Alianna questioned unknowingly on her path of rambles, when eyeing her lovely girlfriend she started to notice something, she's been a bit more off since coming on the trip. Kinda like going to the party? Maybe just maybe Zen didn't like the music? Sitting up straight as she poked dark-haired girl's cheek. "You okay Zen? You seem... What's the word again. Distracted? or wonky? Did someone steal your french fries and we gotta beat them up? or is it because of the two friendly snobs over there!" She whispered shouted with a slight sense of determination.

Lindsey went into the restroom at the pool, and changed into this. 70573243.jpegAlso, he changed into these shoes too. bf688a6d6a9bbc7bd94ea72570fb775b.jpg

Then, he went and sat down on a pool chair putting on his water proof mascara. After that, Lin took out his phone, plugged in his earphones, and started listening to Prince's Dark album. Next, he starts singing along with the songs. Next, he starts writing his next song called, Emos in love. Lastly, he finishes writing the song in his songbook.
