A large number of attacks have been happening inside of the city of Nexus, the resulting attacks have left the local police forces in all of the districts swamped with calls and allowing most crimes to go un-punished, to combat this new rise in crime and attacks, the Nexus Planetary Police Force (NPPF) have been called upon to step up and take some pressure off of the local departments, as such, this has lead to several incidents where officers of the NPPF have either been shot, killed or have managed to get a innocent life taken out in the process, but the Director of the NPPF has also activated the National Hostage Rescue Division (NHRD) to take over from local NPPF officers when a situation like that occurs, they are also to run missions such as: HVI Surveillance, HVI Takedown and Arrest, High Risk Warrant Service, Raids on Identified Gang Hideouts, Intelligence, Surveillance & Recon Missions (ISR), Sting Operations and much more. Officers of the NHRD are usually at the top of their games and the top of their divisions that they are recruited from. Officers that are within the NHRD are also usually skilled in at least one or more mission set before they are recruited to the NHRD from their local NPPF division.
