THE SETTING



In this Roleplay, The PCs will be apart of a star ship crew traveling the universe..The universe is suppose to be a blend of fantasy and sifi...all the races that exists in a fantasy realm make a appearance in this space age setting


It has been centuries since Space flight has been discovered


The Super powers know as the Empires are in a fragile alliance with each other, the slightest slip up could cause a entire war to break out leaving nothing but destruction


In the midst of the Super powers lives the Outlaw organizations like the Chaos pirates and the Moros Syndicate generating huge amounts of currency, building their own armies and taking sovereignty in deep space away from Empire borders (AKA Outlaw Space)


Corporations are also leaving their own mark on the universe with them taking advantage of the political situation, arms manufacturers producing weapons and starting a arm race, mercenaries cutting red tape and taking care of certain thing in case of a all out conflict, miners taking advantage of shrinking borders and traders smuggling banned goods between civilizations


And int he darkest parts of the universe is "No Man's land" a mysterious part of the region that became deserted by all life, only the bravest adventures travel here...But while they are brave, they are foolish as they never return...Nobody knows what exactly those jump gates lead too...But it is surely not good....


The players will effect this world with their own individual choices that they make can and will change the course of the story


Whatever it be bringing the galaxy closer or tearing it apart

The Elven empire

The Elven race is one of the few superpowers in the universe of Eden, being the discover of Space flight, the High elves quickly started colonizing planets to support a larger population



Also With the High Elves is the strange energy that is deep within their soul. "Arcane Energy" is what it was dubbed, a second part of every Elves' spirit that allows them to conjure powers, such as summoning walls of fire or freezing a opponent solid



The Ships they sue reflects this, they are built using this same power, then they are designed to be apart of the captain, a extension of he or she, the stronger the Arcane Energy is in the captain, the more powerful the ship becomes. Elven ships excel in long range vessels with average defenses

The orc people are a proud race of honorable warriors who believe the only satisfying way to die is in the glory of battle. if not fierce with a weapon, they can be fierce with words. Orcs are either Superb warriors or superb Politicians



3 years after the High Elves discovered the technology of space travel, they discovered the Orc homeworld "Hankji" a hospitable desert word with few water reserves but can grow a rare fruit called "Felps" a fruit that grows only in the Deserts of Hanja, its 90% water and 10% fiber



When the elves first made contact with the Orcs, they saw them as nothing more than primitive tribals and quickly decided to enslave them and force them to work on farms harvesting the rare fruit



after 33 years of brutal working conditions and being pushed around, the Orcs staged a massive rebellion against the elfs in hopes of either Reclaiming their home or dieing honorably in combat. Amazingly the orcs managed to push the elfs off their planet after 2 years of conflict



This is known as "The Great War for freedom"



The Orcs then took the left behind ships they seized and started to do research them into them



after a year and half, the scientists have found out how to use the same tech for them to construct starships..but without the Arcane energy needed to fly the ships the Orcs had to construct their own, The ships Orcs use are built for speed and firepower, Speed so they can get to their targets faster and firepower to rip them to shreds ..However a good solid blast can rip them apart...

The Fallen were originally High elves of the Elven Empire..However they learned how to use the Arcane Energy for dark doings, Summonings, Bringing back the dead, casting curses and more



Originally the Fallen was a cult long before the discovery of space flight. doing rituals and sacrifices to a dark entity known as
Huanaon as twisted spirit that corrupts all it touches. this is where the Dark elves were born, their soul being ensnared by the influence of Huanon, their dark skin is the greatest isgn of this


However, Despite their soul being ensnared by Huanaon, Some Dark Elves break their brain washing and see what their actions have done and try to flee from the cult..most are killed but those who escaped found refuge with The Galactic federation, living out their life trying to forget about their past



Currently the Fallen use similar ship as the Elven Empire, only tuned to their dark energy, their base is out in deep Outlaw space in a region called "Guta"

The Humans are the proud citizens of the galactic Federation, a democracy in which that welcomes outsiders with open arms and show no tolerance for closed societies.



Given their openness, The Federation are the universe's most skilled traders and merchants. Nine years after "The great war for freedom" the Federation and the empire made contact with one another, The High Elves decided that this race was worthy of knowledge of space travel and offered the tech as a gift of friendship , The Federation accepted and immediately began constructing their own star ships to travel the stars and open trade routes with their new friends



Human ships are sturdy as the hardest kind of mineral out there, They specialize in Amazing defense to protect cargo and themselves, as well as their ships are superior in Electronic warfare like weapon jamming and engine disrupting modules

By the time all the super powers have been established, they have found peace without aggression and started coexisting peacefully, One of the landmarks to this was the Infamous "Vulcan Maximum security prison" was established as a joint prison for the superpowers to send their worst criminals and place them in the most brutal prison to ever be established



One of the most well known mates put there was a Human named "Scar" a murdering mastermind who got away with a confirmed 931 Murders in the time span of 3 years, he was sentence for life and quickly became the most powerful inmate as 89% of the prison saw him as a leader and secretly planned for a great escape with his new found army



8 years after his sentence, the great escape kicked off, a riot in every cell block and every part of the prions, the prisoners fled and stole over 100 Navy grade vessels docked at the prison



Scar then founded the "Chaos Pirates" the most infamous pirate organization in the universe of Eden, being extremely armed and picked a fight with anyone who dared crossed their path, also known for raiding prisons to recruit new members

The Big four are the four mega corporations living within Eden...there are smaller Corporations but theses are the hugest at the moment..

The Huogikku Corp was founded by trolls from the planet "Gabru'n" a planet that was ridden with crime and violence, one of the hugest contributors to the madness was a lone Arms manufacturer known as "Man'gulan". A Young and vastly intelligent man who began crafting firearms out of a old factory ran by his father



He made a fortune off of selling to local gangs and eventually the Galactic Federation in 2022 A.I.T, with his new found fortune he soon began recruiting thugs and other craftsmen to work for him, Soon Huogikku Corporation was born



Valle Mining Group

Headquarters: Valle - Forge Region - Independent space



The Valle Mining group started out as a simple mine on the Orcish planet of Hankji, the overseer Tame was a caring and hard worker who treated his underlings with respect and generosity. Kipping Morale up was his top priority at all times, making sure there was enough food around and making sure nobody works them self into a grave, its easy to say that the miners saw him as a father rather than a boss.



During the great rebellion, Tame acting almost as a general as he lead his Miners into battle against their elven superiors, once the tech of space travel was discovered from this, Hankji learned of the rare asteroids that orbited their home and sought to mine them to discover their rich minerals, thus he spent every coin he had to purchase a star ship, it was not hard for him to find a crew as hundreds of miners begged him to let them accompany him.



It was not long until he began building mines on theses Asteroids and generating millions of credits in the resources he uncovered..but he came up with a genius idea to harvest them faster, using his massive amount of funds he hired some independent researchers to work on developing a laser that could drill into the asteroids thus getting to the minerals faster than any man with a pick axe could.



The End result was the start of largest mining corporation to ever be formed.



The Philips Security Force

Headquarters: Old Earth - Old Sol Region - Outlaw Space


The Philips Security forces started out long before the discovery of space with Two brothers known as "Gabriel Philips and Neal Philips" Who were dedicated farmers for a good while, The CEO title was passed down the family so a Philips was always in charge of the Infamous Mercenary Corporation



Their life as a Farmer changed after their were given a Job to be guards at their town's local liquor store that was getting robbed every tuesday by some unknown vagrant. Long story short they made a killing off doing watch and eventuality caught the thief and became town heroes!



After that amazing capture, other stores hired them to be protection from ruffians trying to snatch goods or stick up the place, Then they got thinking "..What if we made a company designed to offer stores protection?" thus the "Philips Security Force" was formed! They went form town to town recruiting the strongest men they could then sell their muscle to towns. Soon they sought that being guards was small time..and began looking at current war situations, They then started recruiting people who dropout of Military training and trained them themselves with their own equipment that they acquired though black market connections



They soon had a small private army that they sold to the highest bidder, making them a Mercenary company, Thus they expanded and offered huge benefits to anyone who wishes to join their army.



The Mercenary Corporation has lasted over 5000 Old earth Years and is still strong today in space



Todam Corporation

Not much is known about Todam Corporation..except that it was founded by a union of Human traders that schemed to control the galactic economy via going to no limit to obtain cheap goods and high prices



Clearly Todam corporation has connections..but nobody has nay idea what kind of connections..could be Black Market, Could be Pirates ripping cargo off of Convoys and selling it to them cheap..they are indeed mysterious with their suppliers..What connections that are known are their Market sources that allow them to listen in on any market in the universe, Allowing them to quickly form a plan to exploit any price change their ears catch



currently Todam Corporation owns the most Freighters than all Empires combined making them the largest trading company in the universe.

Moros Syndicate

The Moros Syndicate use to be a proud legal pharmaceutical company within independent space



"Moros Universal healthcare" Was more of a biological research company than a Pharmaceutical, but they get the label due to their focus, which was some of the most advanced medicine in all of the empires making it a profitable company



That is until a Fallen Spy infiltrated one of their most secure labs and obtained the formula for majority of their stock. Then the Fallen sold off the formula to the Empires, which allowed them to mass produce the medicine Moros made



Stocks plummeted lower than any company at the time, leaving Moros on the verge of bankruptcy. It was not long until the CEO cracked under the pressure and took his own life and gave what ownership he had to his closest friend Hanguan Tela, a Goblin with a great beard and ascent that also carried a new vision for Moros..



His first order given to the reserach team was to make a drug that was so addictive that there was no way to possibly cure it, the end result? A Pill called "Tingle" a drug that soothes the user with a rush of dopamine that then puts he or she into a state of complete bliss. Moros Universal Healthcare soon became a king in the underground drug market, allowing them to rack in billions of credits.



After the Empires learned of this they made it their mission to hunt them down and exterminte them for this damage to society they have created



Thus The Moros Syndicate was born

The Hunter Brotherhood is a league of Bounty Hunters and Vigilantes that wish to bring justice to the scumbags of the Universe. Founded by several Orc brothers in arms, The Hunter's Brotherhood has became a infamous name to those breaking the law.



The Brotherhood today has no central leadership, most people enlisted in the Brotherhood are independent and or form smaller groups designed for special types of jobs. The main room to their Hall is covered in frantic bulletin boards giving off bounty information, weapon sales information and pretty much any interdependent justice fighter needs to know...



Some would say the brotherhood is for the weaker Mercs who wish to stay on good terms with the empires rather than working for the Moros Syndicate or the Chaos pirates and make some serious money, Others would say they are simply just trying to help the universe out



Either way the Brotherhood is no laughing matter

The Animoid Enclave

The animoids was a experiment constructed by the Humans during their time on Old earth..after given ship technology from the Elven empire, The humans looks towards furthering their research to catch up with their elven friends.



One of the research projects was about trying to control the evolution process of any species, the plan was about taking some of the animals on their world and giving them a man made biological agent that was to force some evolution change...But they don't want it to happen on earth..they used their new found space tech to look for another planet to try this on...and they came across a Temperate world outside the Old sol region, now called Oris



Countless animals were gathered up and shipped to this new world..all infected with the evolutionary agent..They were left there with no further involvement from the humans..they would let the evolutionary process take its course



All sorts of animals were left behind..Tigers, Bears, deer, rabbits, Lions...all sorts of animals..however over time the animals that did not become predators died off as prey..only the predators remained and fought among themselves



The world was left dominate for half a century before the humans return to see what has happened..and too their surprise the agent has worked surprising well..well..almost to well..The Animals left behind became almost like humans...they had a civilization and structure, language and culture..But then they learned the horrid truth behind it all...The Humans that arrived used translation devices to communicate with them..and told them all about the experiment..how they were all genie pigs..This enraged the animoids to the point of ripping them to shreds and stole their ships for research...



The animoids constructed their own vessels to take to the stars...specializing in cloaking devices and speed, the animoids vessels are truly a hunter's favorite ship



While the animoids have some hatred towards humans, some learn to be around other humans that don't see them as just some "Experiment"

While im willing to add more...Those are just the ones i came up with..im open to more ideas..but yes you can play as any and meet those in the RP

I don't think this is something I will join, but I have a suggestion and a possible reason for it's premature death you mentioned. I personally enjoy space RPs because they offer seemingly endless possibilities for original characters that might come from the depth of obscurity. For example a character I have used before is part of a race of living machines that can restructure body parts into certain tools and weapons as needed. Meanwhile this RP heavily relies on 6 races usually found in fantasy worlds when the diversity of life in space seems infinite. Take it or leave it, I really don't care.

The idea was suppose to blend the 2 elements of fantasy and sifi...just wanted to try the idea..the RP got off the group but eventually those involved stop logging into the site entirely...things just slowed down...Yeah not original ik..alot of the idea was influenced from other sources like EVE (heavily influenced by EVE)...and again i said i would be open to more races...But my creativity is limited....i put them all in a universe and i gave them history that certainly is not original...But its hard to come up with something truly original nowadays..its possible but hard as hell, i certainly tried ( i think that at least)


Most of the time you see these races in ages of swords and shields...i wanted to see them in a era of star ships..Thats the point of this Rp..to take all theses fantasy races and put them in a sifi setting..its been done before..but heres my version

Have you though about adding cyborgs maybe? I mean they do go into science fiction and also animoids that are animals that have devfeloped sense and can stand up right. Here's some examples:

Not at all a bad idea....But i don't want to spoil much but a cyborg race..somewhat exists..They have a part int he mysterious faction that resides in No man's Space...But im not gonna out right spoil them..that will remain a mysterious for the most part

hookay, a bump but also we added a animoids faction and race to the list thansk to our lovely poster @Maximus ...So..more variety..I hope the info on this group is acceptable
 
Mayhaps if all races are so technologically advanced a subset option of the races would include cyborgs, or in the least members wirth cybernetic implants. In many tabletop RPGs like Rifts, Shadowrun and such the option to augment the body with cybernetics makes a fantastic option, you can offset bu having those with heavy augmentation be unstable mentally, and / or socially disreputable.


Additionally, I see the problem where these are all supposed to be part of a ship. This would mean they would party together, or in the least indicate so. So if players desired characters from several different races and thier races went to war the players would need to be loyal to the nation and war against other party members, or in the least leave, or turn traitor againsy thier kind. You may decide that if they ARe on the brink of war you should decide which race you want represented. If not let the diplomacy be more relaxed and leave the diplomatic warefare as border skirmishes and political posturing with politicians covering the fights between the races interests. The TV show Dark Matter does this well. Teh corporations are in a tense understanding, but when they come into conflict they try to smooth it over and save face.


If you can figure out how these members are to be part of the same unit I would surely be interested. I simply think you are overthingking the lore a bit and trying to shove it all into char gen. Focus on how the players fir in small scale, how you will approach missions, and leave the overall scale in the background, perhaps in news reports the party can use to keep up with the big picture.


When the idea starts out that the players will be the crew of a ship I was honestly expecting to be like Pilot, security chief, communications, engineer, medic, and such. Im going to be sure to see where this leads, as the overall idea sounds cool. But like i sais. figure out where the players stand. Drop the major lore into a Lore additional tab, or background tab. Streamline char gen a lot. lol. Sounds liek a good idea, just need some planning.


As for Races, id keep what you've got, When it comes time for char gen that will be More than enough. If someone wants to explore outside the know universe in search of more races let them look in the existing setting, with the thousands of worlds you've offered there should be plenty more intelligent races for existing players to re-roll toons when they've gotten a grasp of the Rp.

Well i never said augmentations where not a thing..just a robot army being a main race is something that DOES exist..but im not gonna spoil to much of it...And the main idea for the crew would be we are all independent, they can have feelings towards their nation but mainly we would all be lone travelers..Become Mercs, Pirates, traders..do whatever we can to get by..


We could all be outcasts from our home..looking for something different..Just a group of misfits coming together to travel the stars


and Yes i did think of a news station before..i can even show the old Rp on the other site i mentioned..we had a tab for it (that i would only post in when story events happen) sadly we never got far to use...i would really like to do it again and get farther than the old group...where the story becomes more rich and open
 
sounds excellent. I didnt meant to impose, merely creative suggestions. I would like to join you if you can find more players. I remember Star Trek tabletop RPG and we crewed several ships. Actually we would take over other ships and haul them back to the Federation. I personally always enjoy being a crafter/ engineer/ repair type character and starship crews always need a good one. I'm really hoping this one takes off.

I admit im not the best at clarifying things..i left many things out on the post...i did not think you were imposing at all..just i was explaining...sorry if it came off a bit hostile..But im willing to answer any questions anyone has..i want people to be interested and want in on this
 
Have you tried making this into a hosted project? Because this would totally interest people more and I have an idea for another race: Goblins, the little crafters that hid from the Orcs living underground and making gadgets and inventions then selling it in a underground business that only a few creatures know about.

Goblins are already listed..In fact, the current leader of the Moros syndicate is a Goblin :u


Also im still sorta new here...explain theses "Hosted projects" to me please? and how they are different from the basic role play sections

The requirements are rather demanding..which i understand and i will accept the challenge of meeting those demands...i like the sound of this..but first i gotta get this gig on the road


i love having more and more people on board, more characters , personalities, sub plots..love that stuff...And RP wise it could end up with the group growing between several ships and becoming a small fleet of several vessels with their own threads...and maybe end up creating a faction..but hey, lets not get carried away, baby steps..not wanting to rush anything
