Futuristic Space Shanties and Stories of the Stars

I'm looking to create a Slice of Life Sci Fi RP about a Spaceship Crew. It's a fairly Soft Sci-Fi but not very advanced, more towards the beginning of Space Exploration. Very much inspired by Firefly mixed with Traveller. There will probably be no Aliens but there will be all sorts of Genetically Engineered and evolved/mutated forms of Humans caused by Genetic Drift and Natural or Artificial Selection. No sentient AI, however. Mostly it will be focused on the (maximum 20 people) crew who typically live with their families onboard, in fact oftentimes a position on the crew is passed from parent to child.

Absolutely. In this particular sci fi Pilots are a lot less important than the Navigators who plot the Space Jumps using Math and stuff but a crack Pilot definitely is a worthwhile crewmember.
