[div class=contain] SOVEREIGNTY* an old high/medieval fantasy roleplay i had on another site. looking back on it again made me really want to try and reboot. it was originally a sandbox style roleplay, but as of right now i'm not too sure on how to set it up on the site so i'm open to suggestions for locations, character groups/exilian races, magic, organizations, and other ideas.




OVERVIEW*  Years ago the land of Estal was divided. At first, it had been a plight to see who would be the dominant race. However, after humans finally stood out and won their rights as the rulers of the land they fought amongst themselves. The continent of Estal was ruined in a state of ruin, and the once pristine land was gone, and most of the many races who lived in her lands disappeared.

It was not until one man with extraordinary powers conquered all. With this the land was unified and peace was restored, with this man as their king. However, that was a tale 30 years ago. The king is now old, and he can't rule the whole continent like he had used to.

[div class=box1] SOCIALHIERARCHY* THE ROYAL FAMILY  Even with no queen or mistresses the Royal Family cannot be considered small with many prince and princesses with the oldest in their early 30s and the youngest 12. The king has a hobby of taking in eccentric, interesting, and talented kids. he has taken the kids into the royal palace in hopes of nurturing their special abilities for the sovereignty.

HOUSE OF LORDS  The house of lords has been established by the king decades ago as he already predicted the decline in his health as he aged. Dividing the land, he had given his most trusted appointees, friends, and others a piece of it to help him govern creating the House of Lords.

The Lords were then given a silver medallion, with it would signify their right to govern their own province. However, there is always a catch when it comes to power. It's always easy to gain it, but it's always hard to keep it. It was only stated the owner of the medallion would be able to control the land. It didn't matter whether or not the medallion was given or forcefully taken if you had one it was proof you had enough strength to rule. Limited to 22 characters.

NOBILITY  Within the land the titles of nobility are granted by the king through contributions a person/family has made. The ranks within nobility are separated between greater nobility and lesser nobility.

Greater nobility consists of dukes, marquesses, and earls. For the most part, all greater nobility have hereditary titles and are classified as "old money" and have long histories. These families have more prestige and mostly hold important positions in helping the king govern the central region such as the prime minister as well as other military and government officials.

The lesser nobility consists of viscounts, barons, and knights. A majority of viscounts tend to second sons and daughters of greater nobility but did not manage to inherit the families title while barons and knights mostly are granted to families who have made recent contributions with little to no history and are mostly new families who have just joined the aristocracy, with most of them being honorary titles holding little to no power in governing the central region.

CIVILIANS  The working class what more can i say.

EXILIANS Hundreds of years ago, humans and monsters weren't the only ones living in the continent. In the war to figure out who was the dominant race the humans won, leaving many of the other races to decline, and gradually go live in either assigned territories or hiding. [/div] [div class=box2] ORGANIZATIONS* THE ROYAL MILITIA  The army which serves the kingdom.

The first regiment is responsible for guarding and maintaining the border between the regions and provinces. They also do menial tasks such as patrolling the streets and are the first to be dispatched when trouble strikes. They are the largest regiment among the three.

The second is responsible for guarding the king and the palace. They have no other duties but to be bodyguards of the king as well as the prince and princesses who stay within the royal palace.

The third regiment particularly goes around the continent performing reconnaissance, and secret missions. All member's identity in this regiment is unknown as they mostly go undercover to gather information.

SICRY ACADEMY  The most prestigious school in the continent. It was founded by the king's close friend Cecilia Sicry right after the unification of the continent.

During this period most of the population, with the exception of the wealthy, never made it past the primary stages of education. Wanting to give more opportunity to the younger generation she founded the school mainly to help those who have gifts but couldn't afford higher education and nurture them into outstanding individuals.

At this day and age, the academy is still up and running. It has gained a reputation of being the best school within the continent with many of its alumni racking various achievements in fields of magic, military, science, etc.

The school now holds yearly entrance exams and accepts kids of the ages 13 through 20. After 4 years the students are expected to graduate and make a name for themselves.

ADVENTURERS GUILD  While many large incidents in Estal are solved by the lords, they cannot solve every small problem they face. Thus, the adventurer's guild was established.

With the other's not having enough time to solve all the problems around Estal, the people could send their problems to the association to be put up on the bulletin board of all adventurer buildings around the land and have an adventurer of an appropriate level take them for a reward. Adventurers are ranked F-S, ranked lowest to highest.

THE GODDESS RELIGION  The main religion of the continent of Estal. The whole religion revolves around the goddess as the world's creator, and everything that happens is decided by the goddess' will.

Although there are many depictions of the goddess the most commonly accepted goddess is from the sybil church as a poised woman in a white dress who is gracious to the good and righteous. While she gives no mercy and punishes evil.

THE EXILIAN COALITION Unknown to the public, a new force is growing within Estal. After years of being forgotten the Exilians have begun to act. At first, since the exilians are made up several races, they couldn't get along and posed no threat to humans. However, due to a series of events some races have come to a truce in order to take back their original land from the humans. [/div]

[div class=box1] FUNDAMENTALCONCEPTS* BASICS Magic is said to be a gift from the goddess. In this world, 95% of the people can use magic and is often used to help with their everyday life. In this world, the concept of magic is based upon mana.

MANA Mana is the source of energy which is needed to utilize magic. It is said that each individual has some sort of mana container within their bodies which stores mana. The amount of mana these containers can store within an individual is determined by birth, ranging from lowest to highest rank F,E,D,C,B,A,S.

The average population having low mana ranks they can only utilize simple, mediocre, magic. As some spells require an amount of mana which is larger than a normal person's mana container can store. There are possible ways to increase the amount of mana you have within your body and move ranks, but many tend to stay within the rank determined since birth, or only manage to increase their mana pool by one or two ranks.

THE TRIALS While your mana pool is mostly determined by birth, the types of magic one can use is endless as long as one puts effort. As the goddess had always liked the hard working, she had set prerequisites on magic.

Magic can be gained after certain requirements are met. While some magic can be obtained through just by studying books, and others through techniques passed down by previous generations, some can be gained by completing trials set by the goddess. There have even been cases of some who have been blessed by the goddess and are given unique skills which can only be acquired to those of the same bloodline. [/div] [div class=box2] MAGICTYPES* ELEMENTAL Elemental magic users' command forces of nature. Some can bend water to their will, some are able to cause mold soil, and others can conjure fire or create an electric current.

Elemental magic is the most spread out magic as it is the most accessible with most of its elementary stages can be acquired by simple tasks. However, elemental magic is also known to be a mana drainer once it reaches higher levels.

SUMMONING Summoning can be learned either after forming a close bond between a beast, spirit, or object. Depending on what it is you are forming a bond could be easy or difficult. After forming a bond they can appear anytime you call them. While summoning inanimate objects do not cost much mana, living beings such as beasts and spirits would consistently drain your own mana pool over time.

PHYSICAL Magic dealing with enhancing one's body, can mostly be gained through strenuous physical activity.

MENTAL Magic of the mind would be best described as the magic of the will. This magic cannot be learned no matter how many books or scrolls one reads, and are generally learned through difficult trials that test one's will.

BLESSINGS It is said that the goddess has blessed certain people as well as their bloodlines with power during ancient times. These types of magic are mostly unique to the user and their family. most blessings come in the form of uniques constitutions such as having higher physical strength than normal or being proficient in a certain type of magic.

TABBOO Magic considered being unacceptable to learn under the law often based on its questionable means of acquisition and the potential harm it could bring to the kingdom. If you are found to use such types of magic it is likely for you to be executed.

RESTRICTED TERRITORIES Territories which are not ruled by anyone and are not open to the general public. Only selective personnel are able to enter these lands by order of the king.

THE WEST The most flourishing region as it is the most fertile and is responsible for more than 80% of the continents food supply. Along with its beautiful scenery, it is also home to many famous craftsmen.
THE SOUTH A region of mostly desert, most towns are in the middle of oasis' or the coastline. most rely on hunting for food bringing up the most fiercest warriors. while near the coastline focus more on ships and fishing.
THE EAST A natural region filled with many exotic plants and animals it is a place which attracts many researchers, and magic practitioners as the natural environment seem to invoke magic power.
THE CENTRAL The main and most populated region which connects them all, and is the center of trade and entertainment. it is also where the king resides and all the most important decisions are made.​

[/div] [div class=contain1] NORTHERNREGION* The coldest region within the continent of Estal. Throughout the whole year, the region is covered in a blanket of snow. With it's harsh living conditions the population in the north is known to be the lowest, mainly consisting of small mountain villages. Other than it's freezing climate, the north is also known for its ore mines, as well as it's advancements in technology and science. Many of the continent's intellectuals and scholars come and gather in the north.

[div class=box11]NEUTRAL TERRITORIES
[div class=scroll]YUKON MOUNTAINS The largest mountain range within the north. As of the present, no one has conquered the top as some can't take the freezing temperature as well as the many high leveled snow beasts that live on top of the mountain. At the base, there are a few small villages which mainly live by hunting the low leveled beasts at the base of the mountain.

CRYSTAL MINES It was used to be one of the most prominent mines within the north until an accident 20 years ago within the mines releasing poisonous fumes making it unable for anyone to go in. Now it is just an abandoned mine. [/div][/div] [div class=box22]RESTRICTED TERRITORIES
[div class=scroll]THE NORTHERN ABYSS A large chasm within the very tip of the northern part of the region. One misstep can lead to death. It just so happens that around the parameter of the chasm ruins of what seems to be an ancient kingdom. Many scholars have been dispatched here to study these ruins. [div class=scroll]THE NORTHERN FORT An area mostly used by the royal militia mostly for training. Due to the North's harsh environmental conditions, it was an ideal place to train newcomers. [div class=scroll]BOREAS PROVINCE A small to medium size province near the tip of the northern region. Most of the province consists of small villages with no evidently large city. The province mostly lives off by its resources as it contains many mines and timber from the boreas forest within the province. It is also known for scholars to travel by here as the province is in close proximity with the northern abyss. The boreas family had always run this province since it's establishment. The province is currently ruled by Camille Boreas [/div][/div] WESTERNREGION* The west is the most peaceful region. With fertile lands it is widely known as the breadbasket of the continent, it is responsible for mainly 75% of the continent's food. The west is also known for its beautiful landscapes which attract many artists and craftsmen to settle down here.

[div class=scroll]FUELA PROVINCE One of the provinces close to Aine River. Due to its proximity to the river, the land is rich and fertile, making it a great spot for farming. Each year they hold great harvests and are generally peaceful. However, things have become a bit worrisome as the lord of Fuela had suddenly died to a mysterious illness. Normally a new one would take over once the medallion either chooses or finds it in the hands of a new owner, however, as of now the location of the lord's medallion is unknown, leaving Fuela Province without a lord. [/div][/div] SOUTHERNREGION* The hottest region within the continent of Estal, and is covered in sand. Most people tend to gather near oasis' or the coast. Many in the south form tribes and mainly live off of hunting beasts which have honed them into being some of the fiercest warriors. However as you near the coast many people live off of fishing and shipbuilding.

[div class=scroll]URITH DESERT The desert within the south which separates it from the central region. It is said if one takes the path to the central region from the south it will take 10 days. However due to the number of poisonous beasts and little to no villages to stop and rest during the trip many take the longer route of crossing the west or eastern regions in order to get to and from the central and southern regions. AVAN PROVINCE One of the coastal provinces of the southern region specialized in fishing and ship building. It contains one of the few ports in the South and often trades with other coastal provinces in the south and west. It is run by ???. [/div][/div] EASTERNREGION* The East is the most unknown region with almost half of its land covered in a forest filled with strange plants and animals. Currently, the East is in development as many researchers gather in order to learn about the forest's strange properties. Many medicinal discoveries have been made with the research.

SYBIL CHURCH The center of the goddess religion. The church is vast which can hold many of its clergy members, though many of them are always on the move to spread their religion. [div class=scroll] THE CITY OF ASRA The capital of the kingdom and is directly ruled by the king and is often crowded by many travelers and merchants.
