STARTER POST

Date/Time: Wendsday, March 11th/Noon

Setting: Small town in Michigan called Clearlake. There's a small shopping center in the center of the town, on Main Street containing 3 restaurants (including a Starbucks), a vintage clothing store, and an arcade. Across the street is the entrance to the small college. The campus holds the school, dorms, and a small food court. 1st, 2nd, and 3rd streets are filled with residences, but 4th street holds the town's schools. On the left side of Main Street there is the Highschool (9-12) and Middle School (6-8). On the right is the Elementary School (K-5) and the Preschool. Main Street eventually turns into a dirt road leading to a lake called Clearlake surrounded by a small woods.

Walking down the street, a girl called Decim is found, a large cup of coffee is held tightly in her pudgy hands in her attempts of staying warm, her chubby frame wrapped in an over sized hoodie that hung around her thighs, her fiery mane of hair swung around her face in the harsh breezes that graced the stragalers. The high for that day was to be around 48*, much like any typical day in Michigan, knowing she should have just stayed on the campus she sighed; the smoke like tendrils of foggy air rushed from her mouth as she huffed.

Remembering the annoyances back on the campus she looked up at the sky, mentally deciding she would rather face the freeze than their heated gazes, besides: The cold never bothered her anyway. She chuckled at her childish mind's pun as she continued her short strides; heading back to the campus before her next class- Study hall began.

**Jax**

The sound of his violin echoes through the small studio, the chords of Secrets by One Republic drifting around him. Anyone looking in could see a small smile on his face, a rarity for him. His eyes are closed and his fingers move deftly over the strings. The song is drawing to a close as the next class begins to enter the room adjacent to the studio, and he quickly places his violin in its case and makes his exit. People watching him play makes him uncomfortable.

The lanky student walks quickly, with long strides. As soon as he's outside, he tugs his hood up over his head and tugs on his leather jacket. It doesn't do much, but he hates zipping the thing up. Soon, though, he's in the library, which is drafty, but still warmer than outside. Finding a table, he sets down his things and goes to find a good book to read until his next class.

**Luma**

Luma deeply regrets throwing on a skirt that morning. Not only are her legs freezing under her thin thigh-highs, but the wind whips her skirt up and around her body, giving anyone who happens to look over a view of her panties. 'At least I thought to wear cute ones', she thinks. Strands of her hair that have escaped her Daenerys-style braid whirl around as if they're searching for freedom. They occasionally slap her in the face.

The girl hurries across the street, following the red-headed girl she'd seen around campus sometimes. Like her, she clutches a coffee, but unlike her, Luma had not had the sense to wear a hood. Her sweater was thick and kept her upper body warm, but her ears were freezing. She takes a sip of said coffee when she reaches the campus entrance before running to her psychology class.

Watching a girl dash past her and onto the campus- leaving behind a gust of wind in her wake. Shivering Decim quickened her pace as the chill began its painful dance to her bones, taking another gulp of her coffee she sighed thankful that she had thought to bring her coffee- she had nearly forgotten it at her lunch spot at the small Coffee Shop down the ways.

As she entered the campus her red nose was already beginning to warm as she wandered her way down the halls to the Library, looking around she saw a few people typing away on their computers, reading, jotting down answers, and frantically going over notes for a test that was coming up. Signing in for her credibility Decim made her way to an empty table before settling her self so she could work on whatever she needed to be done.

Finally some 40° weather! Felice was absolutely fed up with winter, and with the first day of Spring only nine days away, she was more than ecstatic. Unable to contain her excitement nor could she wait until the weather warmed up considerably, she wore one of her loose fitting halter tops under a black button-up cardigan with a pair of skinnies and black boots. She had discarded her winter jacket long ago, sick of all the layers that constricted her movement, never to be seen again until probably late November, early December later that year.

With her tote-bag of school things slung over her shoulder, Felice had enough time to go to Starbucks before she had class. She left her dorm to go to the Starbucks that was located just across the street. The cardigan she wore was thin and so she had a quickened pace to reach the warmth of the inside of a building. Once there, she ordered a grande hot caramel macchiato. And then she was back on her way out again, one hand clutching her hot coffee and the other at the straps of her bag. In about ten to fifteen minutes time, she had made it across the street and back on campus, heading to the library.

Finally, hot caramel macchiato goodness... Felice was able to finally take a sip of her caramel macchiato when she entered the library, her fast paced walk slowing down. She walked to the back of the library where the tables were located and stood there for a moment, looking around as she sipped her drink. She caught sight of Jax going to find a book to read before she walked over, sidling up to him with a small smile on her face. "Heeeey, Jax."

Marcos had been running since this morning around 8, since most of his classes were during the day he didn't have to worry until noon. He say the time and quickly headed to his class. he had been worrying black basketball short and black shirt that he had cut the sleeves off of, too him the weather felt warm than again he had been running and basically sweating. He ran to the college and to his business management class with just a minute to spare. he quickly sat he didn't have time to change or anything, so he was sitting among people who were bundled up and drinking coffee. Marcos just listened since he left his nook back in his dorm room.

(Please excuse id this doesn't make sense I'm doing this and eating)

Pulling out a rather large book, leather with silver plates across the front boldly claiming: "Doodle Book", Decim remembered when her brother (From another mother) had given it to her as a joke to bug her- knowing how she hated it when her art was called mindless doodles. She remembered his shocked expression when she actually used it, which then triggered her last memory of him, his teary eyed gaze as she stepped through the Scotland airport doors; Never looking back, which was several years ago.

Whipping her eyes she shook her head discreetly turning her focus back onto the book, when opened it let out a dull thud as a mass of drawings was flipped out of the way so she could claim another crisp white sheet of paper. Having an idea of what she was going to do she set to work, her pencil dancing across the page as she set boarders on her art; her lip caught between her teeth as she focused on her sketch.

Brec jumped awake at the loud beeping noise of her alarm clock. She groaned leaning over and slamming her hand on the snooze button. She sat up in her bed before rubbing her head sighing then gets out. She heads to her bathroom and looks at herself in the mirror before brushing her teeth. She finishes in a few minutes before taking her clothes off and hopping in the shower. She cleaned her body then got out grabbing a towel and drying off. She exited her bathroom then walked to her closet and opened walking inside to find something to wear. She just took out whatever and looked at it before shrugging and putting it on. She grabbed her things and walked to the kitchen and made herself some delicious blueberry pancakes. It was her favorite breakfast meal. She started eating while looking at her phone. When she finished she got up and washed her dishes before heading out. She put her earphones in and started walking down the sidewalk heading to the cafe where she worked. She was still in college but she wanted to provide for herself.

**Jax**

Jax looks down at Felice with the tiniest quirk of his lips showing that he was pleased to see her. "Hi." His voice is soft and he almost immediately looks back to the shelf he was currently browsing.

The books were on the subject of equality, his latest interest. Of course, being demi, he's always been an advocate for equality for genders, races, and sexualities, but it's just recently that he's been researching the topic. "What is that?" He asks of Felice's drink.

Groaning, the red head rolled out of bed, stumbling into the bathroom to take a quick shower. Her two house mates- Mary and Kate- weren't even up yet. No surprise there.

Once out of the shower she dried her hair and applied light make up. She tossed on some black leggings and a grayish baggy sweater. She put on gray flats to match her top, and walked out the door with her bag for school and some tea in those cheap coffee cups you usually got at Starbucks. Her house mates were still stumbling around the house in search of their shoes and bags, and complaining about how early it was.

Rosaleen settled herself onto her red scooter, putting her tea in the cup holder she had added to the scooter she found at a garage sale two years back.

It took about 5 minutes to get to the high school, and she hurried inside, disliking the cold.

Once inside she chatted with a few friends before making it to her first period class. This was her last year in the high school, and she couldn't wait till it was over.

While waiting for class to start, she couldn't help thinking about why she hadn't found her soul mate yet. She'd been all over the state, and even in a neighboring state for a while. Why hadn't she ran into anyone with the same tattoo as her? She glanced down at her slightly revealed ankle to see the point of the arrow. She brought her gaze back up to the front of the class soon however since class was starting and she was determined to get good grades, and get on the good sides of teachers this year.

Marcos couldn't help but answer the question the teacher asked for rather bluntly, but every time he answered a question. He would go back to flirting to the girl how was next to him, he could she her tattoo clearly since was on her the outside of her forearm. He didn't mind really since he was a flirt. Class was short for today, as everyone crowded out the main class door, Marcos took the less crowded one. Then headed towards the cafe where he liked to go in his free time ,just trace his tattoo and hoping to find his soulmate, while eating some fries and a chocolate shake like usual, Brec was his usual waitress, so they were friends as well.

Starrla walked down the street with a nice size note book in her hand and walked right to her cafe the Lunar Latte. It was already opened and the workers were bustling around serving customers . Putting on a smile she walked to the kitchen and talked with the chef who was taking out a new batch of choux out the oven and began filling them with creme. Opening her note book she showed him a new cake recipe and proceeded to make it as an example.

Violet Adler approached the cafe with no hurry. Dressed in a casual outfit with her black hair hanging loose and neat past her shoulders, she had the aura of someone who was very easy going and calm. Book in hand, dark sparkling gaze, and a slight smile. Even her step had a spring to them. Perhaps it had something to do with the cafe as well because she felt at ease in it. Sometimes she worked here, but today was not one of those days. She was taking the day off from any sort of work. She was the type of person who would be totally focused or just not there at all. It was a cool, chilly day, but she wasn't bothered by it at all. A day of reading, a nice cup of coffee...she had high expectations for her do-nothing day.

Upon entering she quickly chose a seat by the windows, fiddling with her sleeves a bit because she was afraid of them exposing her soulmate tattoo for the world to see.

It was lunch time and Roxie was sitting on the roof of the school day dreaming. Many thoughts ran through her mind. She sat there thinking about he family mostly, who she couldn't stand. Deciding to do something else she looked around, took out a book and started reading. This was her only time at school where she could be alone.

Felice caught sight of the corners of Jax's lips quirk upwards just a tiny bit, causing her to giggle as softly as she can. They were in a library after all. She copied his motions to the book shelf, browsing the books on the shelf as she took tiny sips of her macchiato.

"Hm, this?" She raised the cup that brandished the Starbucks logo in her hand. "Just your regular caramel macchiato from the Starbucks across the street. Want a sip?" She offered him the cup. "It's pretty good."

@giraffesarebetter

After a few classes it was lunch, and many kids left the building to go somewhere else for lunch. Herself included.

She went to a cafe down the street, parking her scooter before going inside.

She ordered a fruit smoothie and then went and sat down at a table, checking her phone and not paying any heed to those around her. She was too tired to be social today.

**Jax**

Jax wrinkles his nose at the name. "I'm good." He preferred his coffee- actually he didn't prefer coffee. He was more of a tea person. Taking down a smaller book that boasted contents of how the equal pay act is shit, he moves toward his table.

"Do you want to sit with me?" He asks, moving his violin onto the floor. He places it by his feet gently, sort of how you expect a person to treat a small child. His bag he simply pushes off the table, not worried at all about the content.

@Rise

Brec continued taking orders and making drinks for customers who just needed something to wake em up before their day started. She saw Marcus and waved at him smiling before grabbing her tray that had food on it. She walked over to Marcus and smiled. "See you hogging that hot cup of coffee like you do almost every morning..." She says to him before putting down his breakfast sandwich then put the tray under her arm.

@LoveTheGame

Decim's face folded as she looked at what was supposed to be art, it was only the beginning so it was random bubbles with light sketches surrounding the backgrounds were iffy as well as the boarders. Sighing she looked at the clock, finding she only had around an hour she packed her things leaving early.

Being a college student she had no afternoon classes on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday; Having picked her schedule so she could still go out to her job, slightly embarrassing but highly profitable, as a massage therapist. "I can clock in early, add an extra client, and be able to get that thing that I wanted.." She stated as she began to think aloud.

"More for me then," Felice said in a singsong voice after Jax declined her offer, taking another sip of her coffee. A smile was still on her lips, though she couldn't fathom the idea of how a person could dislike coffee.

She nodded when he asked her if they wanted to sit together. "Sure, I have time to kill anyway." After placing her bag onto the table, she sat down next to him, leaning back in the chair as she slowly drank the rest of her coffee. She looked at him through the corner of her eye, thinking about the time they've been friends. With the way others perceived him to being so distant and cold, it would have been a surprise that he was able to have friends. It surprised Felice that he tolerated her presence since she could be pretty friendly when with those she considered friends.

Such a shame he has that tree tattoo and I have this knot on my back. I sure like his violin playing... Felice thought as she eyed the violin case beside his feet. Just like she liked coffee and he liked tea, he was a tree and she was a knot. After placing her empty coffee cup on the table, she turned her head to look at Jax with a half-smile. "So, do you believe in soul mates?"

@giraffesarebetter

**Jax**

Jax smirks. "Everyone believes in soulmates, Felice." He gives the required answer and flips a page in his book. As he reads, he studies her out of the corner of his eye.

Psychology and Sociology being his major and minor, and being nearly done with his last semester, Jax fancies himself fairly good at deduction. To him, it was quite obvious that she was asking the question because she had been thinking of him as a prospective alternative to the 'soulmate' the knot on her back has destined her with. The glance at his violin could be that she was simply observing his delicate caretakers of the instrument, though it was far more likely that she was thinking she liked his playing, again tying into the question.

"Why else would we be born with these tattoos?" Inside, Jax was laughing. Outside, he simply leans back in his chair and crosses his long legs, a small smirk still gracing his lips.

Kyler buzzed down the streets of Clearlake on his weathered green bicycle, headed for the library of his campus. It was the last day he could return the books he'd checked out two weeks prior for an parasitology report--a paper Kyler had bullshitted the night prior to its due-date. It was a small blessing that he'd received a B- for the tragedy he'd written; a sign of mercy from his professor, no doubt. Kyler would have given himself a C or a high D for the paper, personally, but hey, it was the teacher's call, not his.

As he neared the library entrance, Kyler slowed his bicycle to a stop and hopped off the rusted vehicle--it was catastrophe waiting to happen, he believed. Slinging his gray backpack off his shoulders, the man unzipped his bag and searched for the chain he used to lock up his bike. While he managed to find it, something more alarming than the possibility of his bike being without protection ensnared his interest.

The books. The shitty books he'd referenced in his paper. He'd left them back in his room.

Kyler hit his head lightly against the tree his bike was leaning on.

"Stupid, stupid."

The chilly Michigan air didn't bother Taylor in the least bit. She was taking classes at Lakeside's tiny college campus because of another scandal that her mother had gotten into. Taylor was disappointed in the fact that they had to leave Greece so soon, but when your mother gets absolutely hammered and starts fights with Greek royalty, you didn't really have a choice. Lakeside was tiny, so it was very easy for the Goos to stay under the radar for the time being. So much for acting like a part of high society. Taylor walked into the Starbucks across campus, wanting to get a caffeine boost before heading to her classes. She was a business major, as her parents expected her to take part in her share of the company as soon as she could. Of course, they knew about her tattoo, but that didn't stop them from attempting to match her with someone in the esteemed higher ranks of humanity. As if she could be allowed to fall in love with just anyone. As if she had a choice.

Her murmurings cut short, Decim watched a boy with wide eyes as he kit his head repeatedly. Not wanting to get caught in the trouble she speed walked past, clutching her hoodie tighter to her frame as another blast of icy cold wind decided to grace them with its presence. Her hair flying about as she hurried on her way, Decim managed to sneeze only twice as she crossed the street, causing many to honk at her in annoyance; it was one thing to jaywalk, but another to stop and sneeze every 5 feet.

Pulling on the door the the little place she called 'Work' she sighed. It was going to be a long after-evening.
