Out of defiance for the system, she for a time dated anyone but her soul mate, but all the relationships fell through. Thus, when the visits with her soul mate became mandatory, she almost looked forward to them. She won't tell anyone that, though.

As he's gotten older though, he's become more lenient in what he says is right, as seen in his sexuality. Outside of morality, friendship is important to him, and work. As an astrophysicist, he works a lot, but he sees his work as very important. He also happens to think it makes him the best at first dates (who doesn't like stargazing?).

History (at least five sentences): It wasn't easy for Asher, growing up half-Jewish and half-black. Luckily, his mother was the one Jewish, otherwise, it wouldn't count (who knew if your father is really your father?). His father converted before he was born, they were madly in love. But every other person in Asher's small Jewish community, at his small Jewish school, and at his small Jewish temple was white. And kids could be mean. Asher knew he was different from a very young age, and it only got worse as he got older, because Asher realized something: he was most definitely, completely gay.

He dated a girl throughout high school, the only one who wasn't mean about his race, and it was nice. She was kind or whatever. And the need to keep her pure made the relationship parts easy. But he knew it wasn't for him.

He also started with another problem in high school. He began doubting his religion. There was so much in the Torah that didn't add up to the science he was studying. He wasn't sure he could believe in a Yahweh at all. But he found community with Jewish people, the only community he had ever had. So he kept practicing, and broke up with the girl. Eventually, he did come out to his parents, and they disowned him. But he moved to Houston, and found a nice, small Jewish community which didn't say anything about the fact that he looked too long at men. He didn't think they actually approved, so he didn't tell them the truth. He had resolved to a life single. That is, until he was forced to meet his soulmate, and he was sure the temple would ask about her.

Shiloh had a happy childhood. Two sisters, together parents, a little school in Southwest Connecticut. When they came out as non-binary in ninth grade, everyone took it in stride. They dated guys and girls in high school and would've dated other non-binary people if any had gone to their school. They were a bit of serial dater, not able to decide on which one they wanted. They thought they wanted their soulmate, but wasn't sure how to find them. Everything fell apart at 18, when they did find their soulmate (continued in the disorder sheet).

Shiloh frequented gay bars well before twenty-one, complete with their fake ID. They had always been the wild-child. At eighteen, they met a man that didn't care that they were non-binary, that they were only eighteen, or that the name on the ID was different from their real name. And there was something else: he was her soulmate. She felt it, he felt it, what could be more perfect?

The man had dosed their drink with heratonin, convincing them that they were soulmates, despite that not being true. Shiloh moved fast with him, thinking they were meant to be, and he kept dosing them so they would keep having the feeling. The man grew abusive, something very rare with soulmates, but always apologized, etc. Shiloh wasn't allowed to leave the house or talk to anyone for almost two years, until one of their sisters tracked them down and tried to get Shiloh to leave. They only would when the sister found the heratonin, and confirmed that they had never been soulmates in the first place. Shiloh is so scared that it will happen again, that they never leave St. Valentines, hate whenever anyone new comes, and has horrible nightmares. They are in intensive therapy and on sleeping medication, but the therapist isn't getting far in taking away their fear. In addition, because they already experienced having a soulmate once, and no one ever has two soulmates, the doctors aren't really sure how meeting their soulmate will go.

Description: Charlie is fairly short, standing at 5”5, 5”6 when wearing shoes. He has wavy, messy honey-blonde hair, along with peach-toned skin with freckles spotting his face and shoulders. He has visible dimples whenever he smiles, which his quite often, and his face is round, close to being called ‘baby faced’ but not quite. His eyes are a grey-ish green. He isn’t skinny, but he certainly isn’t muscular; he lands in the middle somewhere. He often likes to show people that he can get his middle finger and his thumb to meet around his wrist because of his thing wrists, as if that’s impressive. Other than that, he has piercings in both ears and wears fake gold earrings, and he has a sleeve tattoo on his left arm of a geometric beehive.

He wears various t-shirts (usually yellow) with an old dark blue jean jacket, with a white clothe hood attached. Generally, the sleeves are neatly folded up to his elbows. His beanie, which slouches a bit since its big, is also white, and he likes to wear skinny jeans with black just-a-few-inches-above-the-ankle laced-up boots. He has a beaded bracelet with a bee charm (plus round beads that have letters on them that spell out ‘bee kind’) on it that he refuses to take off, and generally he has a lot of bandages, ranging from being on his face to his arms.

Personality: Charlie is an excitable and friendly person. He likes to talk, and often does it quickly and with his hands moving about. He does, however, listen when other people are talking, seeing as he likes to get to know other people. He has a problem with anxiety, as well as being able to pay attention for long periods of time, and often with fiddle or doodle to keep himself occupied. When he doesn’t have the materials to do either of those, he has a tendency to chew absentmindedly on his necklace; he also does so when he’s thinking.

Flirting doesn't fly over his head, but he acts like it does, just to curb any further interaction that could be considered romantic; due to his sickness, he's not partial to dating. Of course, he still gets easily flustered and embarrassed when he messes up, not to mention frustrated. He has a problem with people paying attention to him; he sometimes feels ignored when people interrupt him or can’t do something with him, due to overthinking. He rarely voices these concerns, nor does he voice any negative feelings he has, because he thinks that being anything other than ‘happy’ will cause others to dislike him.

He has an obsession with animals, particularly bees and other insects. When prompted, he rambles about them and gives facts rather excitedly, but often tries to either cut himself off or prevent it entirely, as it’s another quirk he thinks will drive people off. This deliberate lack of chatter concerning his major subject often has some people thinking that he doesn’t know much, but he’s rather knowledgeable and loves to talk about it when it isn’t considered annoying.

Lastly, he has a trust problem when it comes to people telling him how they feel when it’s anything but negative; he often doesn’t believe when people tell him that they’re okay with him talking a lot.

However, around age 5, his parents divorced due his mother having the same issue he currently is dealing with and leaving to be with someone else. This left him with his father, who had full custody of him from that point on. Because of his mother have too much heratonin, they were able to catch his issue early on and start on medication, allowing him to live a fairly normal life. He ended up going to college for environmental biology, but stayed in the area due to still needing checkups and therapy.

Scientifically, what is happening (Can be unknown): Experiences production of heratonin for basically everyone, causing 'special' moments to be comment, and withdrawal to be an issue after people leave for extended periods of time.

How the person is affected: When not medicated, with experience feelings of 'love' with nearly everyone, as well as withdrawal. On medication, gets extremely attached to people, as well as having more emotional responses to things.

Any Treatments: Therapy 4 times a week, as well as medication that blocks heratonin receptors, lessening the effects

Personal history with your character: Having dealt with it his whole life for the most part, with it worsening at age 10, Charlie has learned to deal with it for the most part. It doesn't make things much easier, but he was at least able to get medicated earlier than some. There are points where his medication dosage needs to be adjusted, though, throwing him off balance due to having to deal with the full brunt, or close to, of his issue while his medication is readjusted. This happens every 2 years or so. It's because this, as well as insecurities he has attached to it, that he goes to therapy, and has been going for years. Thankfully, unlike some other patients, he doesn't require more extensive treatment past that and his medication.

History: Abigail was born the first child of her loving parents, who thought she was perfectly healthy and raised her well. Once they had given her the news that a sibling was on the way, they noticed she showed signs of being a bit... odd. Although she was initially super excited to hear the news, a moment later, she was found shaking and crying in the corner of her closet. They chalked it up to be the emotional state of a child, but once they had given birth to the newborn baby, they realized something was incredibly wrong. She screamed at the sight of her baby sister, looking as if she was terrified by something, before quickly fainting. This series of events led her to become enrolled at St. Valentines Home, where she has basically lived ever since. She visits her family relatively often though, sad she won't be able to watch her sister grow up too closely.

Personal history: Initially she fainted whenever something joyous happened to her, due to the pure confusion in her body and the sudden influx of fear that comes like a shockwave. However she has gotten a little better over the years, now able to keep consciousness through the event. Personality (at least five sentences): Azriel is a spoiled brat, the son of a rich international businessman expected to take over the company someday. He likes to think of himself as a complex individual but he's really just an asshole that's too full of himself. He's headstrong, very stubborn and hella opinionated. He likes to run his mouth, talk a lot of crap like he's the big guy in charge - and in some ways he is. He has a very self serving, addictive personality. He only goes out of his way to do something if it benefits him, he doesn't really put in effort to help others. He's an endorphin chaser and easily becomes addicted to things that make him feel good be it substances, people or other things. He's manipulative and cunning, always looking for ways to spin a situation to his benefit or looking for people to use. While it's not his intention to be immediately awful (he's actually quite charming), it's like this dark ugly thing just bubbles up out of him which makes him rather unpredictable. He's gotten much better at controlling it but still slips up. He can be provoked to anger and violence so it's best not to push his buttons too much. If ever someone were to inquire about his personal life or really try to get to know him he'd snap at the drop of a hat and storm off; he's just incapable of dealing with that jumbled mess. Some pure little part of Azriel does care about people and things, he just has difficulty showing it.

Personality

Liam doesn't come off as very kind when you first meet him. His attitude can be considered rather cold and indifferent. Overall, though, he's actually a fairly considerate person. His emotional intelligence is low, but that doesn't stop him from trying to understand what other people are thinking and feeling. He trusts others too much, which has screwed him over before, and yet, for some reason, this aspect of him has never changed. It's not uncommon for Liam to get exhausted when socializing. To recover, he spends a fair amount of time holed up in his studio apartment, working on songs. He tries to keep his distance from other people, having gone through a fair share of horrible situations in the past, but, once you win him over, his fondness will only continue to grow.

History

From the moment Liam was able to hold a crayon, he wrote. At the time, of course, it had been on the walls in bright blue permanent marker, but he was writing nonetheless. As he matured, his passion changed from writing to music. He got a keyboard for his thirteenth birthday and has kept it ever since, practicing and teaching himself how to play. Having performed at a few school concerts told him one thing: he wasn't exactly stage material. Taking a few steps back from the spotlight, Liam decided to combine his interests and take up songwriting and producing. To this day, he works hard, hoping to one day be able to become a one-man-team and make his own music for himself, instead of relying on commissions.

Originally, Liam's views on soulmates were rather indifferent. His parents weren't soulmates, and they'd had him, so what was the point of finding this one true love when you could be just as happy with someone else? A part of him, admittedly, thought the whole concept was a bit unrealistic. Even with all the newfound ways of finding your soulmate, his parents never bothered with it. They were in love and that passion rubbed off on Liam, leading him to believe that soulmates were unnecessary. It was a waste of time. Why not wait until you found someone you loved naturally? However, his views on soulmates only continued to worsen when his mother found hers.

She had been cheating on her husband for quite some time, having met her soulmate at a gas station one day. When she finally was truthful about the entire matter, Liam's father was devastated. They separated. Worst of all, she wanted nothing to do with Liam anymore. She wanted to start a family the "right" way with the person she belonged with. Emotionally drained and desperate for some sort of happiness, Liam's father decided to find his soulmate as his ex had. It was surprisingly easy. Personality

Julianna is bubbly, eager to please, but awkward. Occasionally, she gets so worked up and energetic that she fumbles over her own words. She's not very good at figuring out when to wait for another person to respond to the conversations, which usually results in her talking for long periods of time without stopping. She can be overdramatic at times and subdued at others, her mood rapidly fluctuating and causing her to have high highs and low lows. Her flaws and mood swings have led her to believe she'll never be "perfect" enough, no matter the situation she finds herself in. The bar she sets for herself is so high it's impossible to reach, yet she tries anyway, struggling in the process. Eventually, she will need to learn that there's no such thing as perfection, but, until then, she's afraid she'll continue to be a worthless mess that no one will bother dealing with.

Herstory

Born to two loving parents, Julianna didn't go through many hardships. Her life was relatively sheltered, with her parents being wealthy enough to afford anything she asked for. She grew up to be a bit bratty, used to getting whatever she wanted when she wanted it, but that all started to change as she hit her teen years.

Something happened to Julianna's emotions. It became normal for her to freak out and overreact. She was all over the place, happy one minute and devastated the next. This caused her to frequently act out, getting in all sorts of trouble. Seeing no other way out, her parents enrolled her in St. Valentines, trying to figure out what was wrong with her. At first, they assumed it would be a temporary stay, but as her moods got even more unstable, it looked like she was going to be there for good.

Her parents had another child after that, despite the age gap it would cause between the two siblings. Julianna has never met her brother before, but she likes to think that he's doing well for himself. She prays that he doesn't have the same problem she does.

Personal history: Julianna was sent to St. Valentines when she was fifteen, her parents having given up on trying to help her at home. After her first six months there, they were able to come up with a probable cause for her mood swings, although the specific hormone involved is still unknown. So far, the current treatment is helping her level out her emotions. However, there are times where stress and certain situations cause all progress to be swept under the rug. Other treatment options are being explored, and she's been going through intensive therapy sessions to try and better manage herself.
