The Soulings.
Soulings are born from the very essence of a creatures soul. Every time a baby is born so is a souling. They aren't full souls, more like babies themselves so they cannot have a body. Since a creatures soul never dies, when the host body does then the souling shall bring the creatures soul to an ancient tree called Dife (A combination of Death and Life). Dife feeds on the life force of that soul and then sends it to the underground or in the clouds. (Heaven or hell) In return Dife gives soulings the one thing they crave: life.
The Guardians
Souling Guardians are children of Dife the tree and therefore all related to each other. (All Guardians are to have the same last name). Every time a Souling is born a seed is dropped into the ground in front of Dife. From there on multiple guardians forms slowly. The only way the guardians can form is if they can manage to crawl and dig into the ground. From there on a flower, the size of a human adult is grown. It blooms and out comes multiple child guardians. They are to live with and feed off of the leaves of Dife to gain more power to grow. Beware for there will always be a runt in the litter and that might be you. Once grown up some guardians are assigned to one Souling while others are to look after all in the area.
