Fandom Soul Eater: The Horsemen

Family Disappointment
Surely you've all heard of the four horsemen of the apocalypse, right? No? Well let me tell you, my dear.

The four horsemen of the apocalypse are typically seen in Revelation 6 of Christianity. They arrive when four seals are broken, releasing four terrors unto the world.

Each came on a horse of either white, red, black, or pale. These were the four horsemen.

The one on the whote horse became known as "conquest" which is more popularly known as "pestilence."

The second, on the red horse, became known as "war".

The third, on the black horse, became "famine."

And the last, on the pale horse, became known as "death."

These four great terrors were released unto the world as their seals were broken, where they remain today, wreaking havoc still.

We know now that Death himself had a child, unto whom was given the name "Death the Kid" to signify his lineage. But, what if the others had children as well?

They did. And all four of them, unbeknownst of where they truly came save for Death's son, are classmates at Death Weapon Meister Academy.

Now the time has come that the other three children emerge. There is a new Kishin on the rise, wreaking terror on innocent people, and taking innocent lives.

It is up to the four children, bound together by the string of fate, to join together as a team and assist other weapons and meisters in defeating this Kishin once and for all.

Are you on board, young weapon or meister? Do you know where you truly came from, or was your whole life a lie?

Soon, you will find out. But beware. The truth is sure to shock you.

Setting: DWMA

The day was young, the sun just beginning to rise. Many in the real world were still asleep. However, the students of the Death Weapon Meister Academy were among the few who were not.

Classes were just starting for these students, and first up for the Especially Advanced Talent, or EAT class, student body? Professor Stein and Soul Studies.

Ares and Morgenstern Stein were two of the students in this class. Having been the children of the professor, they often knew the material beforehand. This meant that they spent their time talking before class rather than studying.

They were quite popular, yet they still very nice people. Especially Morgenstern. She had already created three death scythes, and everyone knew that, but she and her brother were two of the nicest people that you'd ever meet. Even if Morgenstern was a bit of a hardass

However, what the students did not know was that, rather than Souls, students would be receiving a different lesson today.

"The Horsemen" Stein said as the students all assembled in their seats. "This is what our lesson is about." He wrote the words on the board, turning to face the class.

"This lesson is very unconventional, but the staff and Shinigami-sama have decided that you need to know about this. Do any of you already have any knowledge of what the horsemen are?" He asked

Ares and Morgenstern's hands both shot up. Their father told them to put them down and let others answer for once, earning a sigh from both siblings.

Stein turned to the class. "Anyone?"

Thea sat at the front of the classroom, as she usually did, writing down inane facts and doodles across her paper. Most consisted of sorrowful images, of herself standing on a mountain of fallen comrades on different positions. Her teal hair soaked in and tears freely falling from her eyes , with a smile still written on her face. Thea was only dimly aware of what exactly was going on in the world outside her bubble, she knew she was in class. And she knew who was in the class. That was it, that was where her knowledge of what was happening ended. But Thea didn't mind. 'I didn't particularly belong there.' She thought whimsically. Briefly she broke out of her trance like state, a state of which consisted of her staring into the teachers soul with a dreamy and slightly disturbed smile adorning her lips and her pale teal eyes gone glassy, to cast said eyes around the room. Breifly she took account of the most notable in the room. Humming she gave a small secretive smile their way before returning her gaze foward. She was just about to return to her doodles -maybe this time they would stand atop her? But that wouldn't be realistic, no one would mourn her, and Thea was a realist if nothing else so it simply would not do for it to be drawn that way-When the term horseman caused her eyes to come back to life. A pale spindly hand brushed waxen teal creamy hair out of her eyes before pausing mid brush in the air. Hesitant. Thea was hesitant to involve herself in this conversation. Why? Because there were simply to many eyes...and they were watching . A small frown began to decorate her dry lips, causing them to tingle in slight pain at the movement. Briefly a pale pink tongue swept out to wet them. And then she spoke."Conquest or pestilence, War, Famine, and Death." She whispered .

Human Malice.jpg
Malice sat in the middle of the classroom's stadium seating with his chin on the desk and his green, and blue eyes darting around the room hoping to find something that could interest him. He perked up a little as Stein walked in, he had always enjoyed the Majority of steins lessons as it usually involved something fun and interesting. 'What's it gonna be today... a dissection, nah, maybe we get too blow something up?' He thought to himself as stein walked in. Malice's head slumped back onto the desk as he watched Stein turn around to write on the board, his hopes of something fun this lesson vanished. As Stein put the question to the class his children raised their hands like clockwork. Funnily enough they weren't allowed to answer and turned the questions to the rest of the EAT class. He looked up and waited too see if anyone else answered so he wouldn't have to and luckily he was given a pass as a girl up front gave a simple answer and he went back to being bored.

Morgenstern & Ares Stein

A laugh bubbled up in Morgenstern's throat, finally erupting after a few moments' time. The sinister sound seemed to cast a rather dark aura on the room.

Her head tilted downward, arms crossed in front of her chest, she slowly drummed her fingers on the area of skin just above her elbow crease.

"If only you knew" the girl said as she looked up, her sharp, emerald green eyes catching the light coming in from the window. Reaching upwards, long and thin fingers skimmed through silvery grey locks, pushing them from her face as she paused her speech.

"The four horsemen of the apocalypse are not but simple words. They were knights sent out into the world, destined to cause the chaos of war, death, disease, and famine that we witness today."

She released yet another bone-chilling laugh as her brother Ares put a gentle hand on her shoulder in a silent plead for her to calm down before she scared someone. Practically shoving his appendage away, Morgenstern crossed her legs and fell silent once more, a satisfied smirk resting upon her features.

"Right" Stein drew out slowly as he spared a glance at his youngest child, voice full of weariness in regard to her current mental state.

Turning back to the board, the professor began to write once more. Underneath the heading, the four names were listed, as well as what their initial catastrophe was.

"Like Morgenstern said, the four horsemen were originally biblical figures that unleashed havoc on the world. However, Shinigami sama has found evidence that they truly exist. That their legacy lives on."

He paused, taking a deep inhale of breath before releasing it in the form of a heavy sigh, closing his eyes and shaking his head before opening the green orbs once more.

"He believes it remains...In you children. Our problem is that we only know of one horseman's child. That child is the descendant of death, the other three still have yet to be found. Most horseman children are claimed in the heat of battle, when hidden abilities become more apparent after they are claimed. This reason is exactly why we will be sparring in class starting today."

An excited whoop came from Morgenstern from the middle of the classroom. She always loved to spar, as it gave her a way to develop field strategies.

Ares, however, reacted totally in the opposite way. Unlike his sister, he was not a fan of physical combat. Rather, he preferred to practice with mental strength and stability through his abilities of mind games

Professor Stein sighed and motioned for his two children to join him at the head of the class. Standing, the two silver blonde students stood and walked towards him, eventually coming to stand on either side of their parent.

"We have a new threat coming, something I am not allowed to tell you of yet. However, I will tell you that you will face extremely difficult opponents. We will begin by jumping right in. I need a weapon and meister pair to volunteer, as my two have extensive combat training, and are not easy to beat. You must be confident in your ability to defeat them. Any takers?"

Shouma had been listening from the back of the room as the class went on, his eyes narrowed and his face was sustained by the effort of his palms as they squeezed his jawlines from both sides. His lips frowned slightly as the explanation went on. The slim student's countenance reflecting the expression of his soul.

T1viu2t.jpg

(...Just wait back here...the class will end....quickly......)

Thought the weapon as the class progressed, yes...Shouma could had been replaced by a potato and probably the potato would had been more responsive to Stein's outstanding lectures. When Stein asked in relation to the horsemen, his reaction was to cover his own face slowly with his fingers...his eyes rolled up to the ceiling.

(...Yes...it will end....very soon...the class...will...)
Shouma tried to be as still as possible...maybe he won't be noticed...

(...Be one with the desk...)

Luckily Almathea had answered, his own breath spilling down his nostrils in relief as the teal haired meister spoke. Shouma's attention went then towards the Stein children as they talked, he listened silently as the explanation grew vastly...he even tried to count how many words they used. That maleficent laughter Morgenstern provides had Shouma even more still...

(...Yup...a normal classroom...)

Sarcasm filling his mind as he wonders if he still has a chance to move to a NOT class. His eyes spot Malice Valerio's rainbow hair for a moment wondering how much dyeing would he need to replicate that hairstyle and then towards Ares...that is...until Professor Stein talks about sparring.

And with the grace of a jellyfish ...Shouma slowly started to slip and hide behind the desk so he won't be picked.

(...Just...let them take the lead...I can wait down here....stay in the back...become friends with Mr. desk...)
Thought the weirdo/ Shouma/ potato wannabe.

alice grew a large toothy smirk as he heard Morgenstern's laughter, having to stifle his own so as not to disturb and distract the class further. He lifted his head up slightly as Morgenstern started to go on about the horseman, it had always fascinated him that the horsemen arrived and caused havoc and chaos, something about the idea of that seemed like a fun prospect. As Morgenstern's laughter was muffled he ran a head through his hair and sat up, perhaps it wasn't going to be as boring of a theory lesson as usual. He listened to Stein ramble on a little longer and his head sank closer and closer back to his desk before the reveal that they children of the horseman could be in this class. He quickly looked around at everyone in the class room to see if he could pin point any reactions from people that might give away that they were a horseman's child. His head just as quickly spun back around when it was mentioned that they would be sparring today. He so desperately wanted to jump down there but he didn't have a meister , nor had anyone been able to wield him without loosing a bit of their sanity, so he sat their squirming his his seat waiting for something to come up.

Neopolitan was having a rather bad day, first for whatever reason, she couldn't find her cape anywhere in her appartment this morning, only to find it strung up like a flag in front of the building the second she walked into up the stairs to school. Not to mention the fact she was sooooo late. Huffing out a small puff of air she repeated her mantra.
"It can only get better, it can only get better" over and over until her voice gradually gained back it's pep. A bright silly smile stole over her lips again as she brushed her mix mated hair behind her ears and began her climb to retrieve her cape. After all, what was a hero without its cape? A stupid hero. That'd what it was. Neo grinned as she slowly inched her well muscled body up the slim spike that stuck out of the school where her black and pink cape hung. It billowed in the breeze like a great mighty flag...and for a second Neo just wanted to sit there and watch. ...
"Moments are for sissys. " she said bluntly. Before her arm changed into a Lang chain with a knife as her hand. It was a beautiful silver weaved chain with a slightly curved knife. Without further prompting she whipped her arm back and slung it foward, the tip of her curved knife catching like a grappling hook around the spike and tightening as she gave it a sharp yank. Grinning, she used it to haul her body up and snatched her cloak.
"VICTORY!!! HAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAH"
she crowed
Wrapping both hands around her cloak and sliding down.
"Hm see it can only get better~ " she giggled happily before sauntering into the building and practically skipping into class.
"Good morning everyone ~" she cheered.

Thea cast a strange glance at the stein siblings. Before Sighing as no one stood up. 'Typical...' she thought. 'In a class full of eat students and not one of them wants to challenge themselves.' A small breathy laugh left her pale chapped lips. The sound echoing through the silent classroom. a shaking hand went to twirl the locks of teal in a whimsical fashion. She was half temped to step up herself..of course that would be suicide as she didn't have a weapon partner. 'yer' she reminded herself. yet. Thea would find one, she was sure of it. despite the fact that most people would rather cut off their own arms than work with her -and that was fine with her, they were the ones missing out anyway- she would wait be patient she reassured herself. A small secretive smile stole across her lips at the thought.. Thea gave a tug at her locks and lazily pulled her hands free from them to rest lazily on her cheeks, her pinky slipping onto her bottom lip and apply slight pressure. The small sting accompanied by the taste of copper in her mouth alerted her to her now cracked bottom lip. her tongue poked out again before sliding back in with blood on her tongue.
"hmm, now who will fight the mad hatter hm?" she said quietly. And that's when an eccentric pink and black haired girl burst into the room.

Professor, Morgenstern and Ares Stein

As the eccentric female weapon entered the room, the students that were assembled, sleeping, or not paying attention suddenly diverted their focus on the girl, intrigued as to what the professor would do.

"Miss Neopolitan" Stein turned to face the girl as he spoke, his voice full of displeasure and a bit of anger. "This is the second time you've been late to my class this week, and it is only a Tuesday. Quite frankly I am getting tired of it."

He studied her, crossing his arms as he took in the sight of her. The way she was holding the cloak, he assumed that she had been late due to the fact that something had happened to it.

"As a punishment for your deeds, and hopefully serving as a reminder to be in class from now on, you will be assisting me with today's sparring. You will temporarily be serving as my weapon parter while my children help me demonstrate what I expect in sparring before they each take them on themselves."

He turned to face the class full of meisters and weapons. "You hear that? Due to the fact that we have no volunteers, I made the decision myself. You will all be sparring against Morgenstern and Ares, and I will choose your partners. Keep in mind that your grade will reflect your performance."

As he spoke, he held up two fingers on his right hand. Curling them forward rapidly, he silently motioned for the two to move up.

Stepping forward, Ares and Morgenstern both subconsciously hit their own signature poses for when they were rested. Morgenstern standing with her weight on one leg, hip popped a bit with her hand on her hip. Ares simply stood with his arms crossed, looking around.

"This is what you'll be dealing with. Out of the two of them, Ares is the weapon and Morgenstern is the meister."

He motioned to his daughter.
"Morgenstern is a genius utility meister. She can force soul resonance with anyone, so do not let her take a hold of your weapon. Watch your back, as she can be a dirty fighter. To beat her, you must have a strong body. "

Next, his focus shifted to his son.
"Ares is a spiked longwhip. He is incredibly painful when in weapon form. He has a few tricks hidden up his sleeves. To beat him, you must have a strong mind."

With that he faces the class, telling Neo to come to him and telling the others to pay attention.

Shutra Thanatos

"What a pain..." Shutra muttered from his position in the back of the class, the muffled voice - As most of the sound was suppressed by his crossed arms, that blocked his mouth as he used them as a makeshift pillow (for sleeping in class comfort purposes, of course) - clearly expressing annoyance he felt. While he didn't really bother with trying to get what the professor's previous warnings meant - as he felt that even if he did understand the reason for the mention, that would possibly affect him thankfully to his identity, it wouldn't really make any difference whatsoever for someone so lax as himself - or felt bothered by the antics presented by the Stein siblings and the subsequent murmurs that started around the class after the female sibling was finally stopped, the thought of having to participate in something as meaningless as a sparring session was especially irritating for him, ultimately resultating in the uncommonly seem occasion where he actually started talking.

He lifted his head from the makeshift pillow formed by his arms, gazing towards Stein and the female student that appeared from nowhere while he was distracted before once more voicing a complaint, this time in a more definite way.
"Do you really feel like I need to participate in something like a spar? Sounds like a waste of time for me." he said, apparently counting with the help of Stein's personal opinion to avoid having to participate in the practice he considered as bothersome. After all he expected that the professor had at least a grasp of his strength after all this time, so he didn't see why would he opt to make him fight against someone that wouldn't have even a chance to beat him, a group that composed roughly 90% of the class in his not-so humble opinion.

Neopolitan
Neo rubbed the back of her head and merely laughed it off rather loudly. blowing her mixed matched hair out of her face she beamed at the twins. it wasn't that Neapolitan was stupid, well she kinda was, but it was more that she was consistently positive. willing to take everything in stride and keep on rolling with it. so she had to take on the most well known miester who she idoolized. so she might get her ass handed to her. That's ok, because it would all work out in the end, so long as she kept smiling. like she promised. sucking in a bunch of air she pointed at the young death god with a small pout. "nuh uh! participation is stimulation! so lets get stimulated!" she grinned, taking a small step back, then taking her cap and flashing it in front of her like one would do with a bull. Neo flicked it in front of her a few times, her ever present grin widening in size before she twirled dramatically. wrapping herself within the cloak and twirling on her toes a few more times. and then suddenly, with a flash of pink and black light, a long silver weaved chain with a pink and black curved blade at the tip.
"Tada! alrighty lets go Professor Stein! " she laughed.

Location: EAT Classroom

Shouma thought his intentions of befriending the desk had given fruits...he had not been chosen for the sparring. He quietly snuggled closer to the desk ...a loyal friend had been this good wooden centurion.

(Mission...complete...)
Thought as he heard the door opening, who could it be? Shouma ignored Neopolitan's cape adventure.

He was not planning on leaving the safety of his hideout and so Shouma's eyes fixed in an empty spot under the desk...probably looking at the bubble gums stuck underneath or trying to find any written cheat lines from previous exams...although...people normally didn't cheat on Stein's class...honestly...who would dare to do that?...were you suicidal? ...do you have a death wish? ...go visit a psychologist if you have any of the previous symptoms...did they even have one of those in the academy?

It was then that he listened how Neopolitan had been chosen as Professor Stein's temporary weapon. Shouma slowly clenched a fist in victorious pose under the desk. Everything was going great.

That is...until Prof. Stein mentions that he will designate partners for all and have them spar against his children. Even worse...they will get graded based on their performance.

(......................................................................)

(......................................................................)

(......................................................................)

Give Shouma a moment, he needs some seconds to process the situation.

(...*cries in his heart* ....)
There it goes, really? spar against the Stein siblings?... he was going to get destroyed by those lunatics! Did he hear correctly!? one of them can try to force your soul?! SHOUMA NEEDS AN ADULT!

Shouma soon started to design his master plan...yes...he was sure others in the class are going to be excited by this great chance to stand out and let their skills grow. Not Shouma...he is picturing his corpse on a crime scene by now.

It was time to machinate his escapade...

He quietly started to look around the class...were there any windows?....

x6wb26Z.png

Shouma quietly focused his eyes on one of the windows.... maybe...if he believed hard enough he would be able to reach it...and fall off into salvation/death before the sparring (Shouma's torture) begun.

(...believe......believe in that window.....belieeeeeeveeeeeeeeeeeee...)
To Shouma's disappointment ...he was not a psychic and the window didn't budge...he wondered if Mr. Desk would have any wise advise... but its silence was all Shouma needed to hear...he was on his own...betrayed by his friend...

(</3)
The black haired weapon even heard Neopolitan talking about stimulation?...he quietly casts his eyes on Shutra...Malice and Almathea ...yes Shouma is actually staring at them from under the desk thinking that if he focuses hard enough...his desire to leave will have an effect on them..if any of those three take the lead ...he may have a chance to keep himself in the background as the sparring/massacre goes on.

(...fooocuuuuuuus.......foooooocuuuuusss.......)
Shouma's staring intensifies.

Professor, Morgenstern, and Ares Stein

Professor Stein released a sigh, directed at both the rather bubbly girl before him and the young shinigami male who seemed to not want to spar.

"As a matter of fact, I do think you should take part in this. Especially you."He looked at the young shinigami, remembering how his father was when he was younger.

"Your father would agree with me. He was there when the first kishin, your uncle, arose and wreaked havoc on our world. I doubt he would want you to be unprepared, especially if it were to happen again. As our only definite child of a horseman, your life and ability to fight is our first priority, as well as training those to defend you."

His attention then went back to Neo, catching her weapon form. He internally sighed as he turned to his children, ignoring the fact that her weapon was pink.

When he asked if she was ready, Morgenstern laughed.
"Ready? Oh yeah. Ares, you ready?" With a nod, Ares took his sister's hand gently. Then, with a slightly larger flash, he switched weapons as well.

When the light dimmed once more, Ares was a whip in Morgenstern's hand. It was impressive, a very long weapon with spikes of sharp metal protruding from it. The female looked at her father, who gave the signal to begin the spar.

She snapped the whip, a sharp sound resounding through the classroom. Morgenstern, who never made the first move, stood in a defensive stance.

"As the fight progresses, I want you to analyze our strategies. And when you think you can be useful, jump in, either in doubles or pairs on either side. If you get hurt, you won't die. The infirmary knows we're sparring today and is prepared otherwise. Which means PAY ATTENTION, THE ONE UNDER THE DESK."

He then made the first move, lunging at his daughter and swiping with the blade in an attempt to catch her in the leg and distract her with that for a moment.

However, Morgenstern quickly dodged, swinging Ares and making him wrap around Stein's foot, yanking him towards her and to the ground.

"Can anyone tell me what he just did wrong?" Her voice came as her father got back up and backed away to regain his composure.

alice turned to his gaze to the young women who burst into the room looking very cheery and excited and wondered 'Why is she late to stein's class, being late to steins class never...ends...well... SHE GETS TO SPAR WITH STEIN!'. He had to stop himself from smashing the desk in irritation now wishing that he had turned up late to class today. He sighed as they were told to observe and rested his head back onto his desk and looked down at the spectacle about to take place, while not too keen on just watching it was still Stein and Morgenstern fighting so he had to watch. That was until he said that they should join in whenever they felt they could be useful, in the male's mind that was 'you get to join in on the spar'. He quickly jumped out of his seat, landed on the desk and used it to propel himself towards Morgenstern, turning his arm into a a long black blade.

Ares and Morgenstern Stein

Morgenstern stared her father down, a look of smug satisfaction resting upon her face as she took in the fact that he felt the need to back away from her.

"Well, well, well" she said, her voice smooth and graceful. "What do we have here? Are you afraid to make a move, dear father of mine? Come on. You know we won't hurt you....too badly." She chuckled.

Snapping Ares again, she strolled towards her father. Stopping about halfway through the distance required to reach the teacher, Morgenstern closed her eyes.

Soundlessly, Ares and Morgenstern resonated their souls. Ares turned red, and the spikes grew larger, turning to a substance that looked like bone, glowing with its blood-colored aura.

She allowed Malice to lunge at her. As he did, she slowly turned to face him. When he got close, her eyes snapped open and she reached out, grabbing him and guiding him straight into the floor.
"Dead" she said.

With a sigh, she turned to face him. Kneeling down, she knelt right on his chest, looking down at him. While Ares had resonated with her, she'd undergone some physical changes. Most specifically her eyes. They were glowing red.

Taking his chance, Stein swung Neo at his children. Looking up, Morgenstern caught his move just in time for the blade to go right across her neck.

There was a gasp from a few students. Some screamed, covering their mouths and skin going white as they took in what they had just witnessed.

Seeing this, Stein's eyes widened and he dropped the weapon he'd been partnered with, running over and kneeling by her. Or so that's what everyone saw.

A moment later, Morgenstern was standing behind him, perfectly fine, and made a finger slash on his neck.
"And game over" she said, releasing a laugh.

What the students didn't realize, was that Ares played mind games. He could make anyone see anything he wanted to. And that was what he wanted everyone to see.

Morphing back to his human form, Ares fist-bumped his sister as they turned to the class.
"You're getting old, Dad. Remember, class. A sound soul lies within a sound mind AND a sound body."
He winked at a nearby female, who swooned and covered her nose to stem the bleeding. Oh, Ares. Such a heartthrob when he wanted to be.

"I want everyone to tell me what it is that they just saw. What just happened, and why? Analyze the spar. Give me your best shot."

Thea watched the rather...interesting spectacle take place with interest. Her cloudy eyes taking a shine to them as she watched the weapon -Malice was it?- leap headlong into a fight. Not very surprised, she watched as he was taken out rather quickly. A small puff of air escaped her in an almost bored sigh . Her teal cloudy Blue eyes rolled towards the ceiling in barely hidden bordom. Of course she was none to surprised when her own teacher was beaten either. With a lazy almost mocking sort of smile, Thea tilted her head slightly, resting it on her pale thin hands.
"You cheated." She stated simply
Before her attention was lost and once again returned to her doodles.
This spar was beginning to look less and less appealing to her. Why waste her time going to spar with someone she couldn't win against. It was no fun. Sure she could get the experience from it...but she'd rather try her hand with a more even odds. Those odds being where she had an actual weapon partner. -not that she needed one mind you . She was doing just fine on her own thank you very much- But the likely hood of someone being able to match wavelengths with her was....slim to none.
But Thea supposed that was of little concern here considering she had to spar with the two one way or another...still didn't mean she had to like it.
Thea pulled on her hair again.

Malice launched himself, a crazed smile stretching across his face, towards the daughter of Stein, his arm turning to a blade as he aimed for her chest. He got closer and closer before, in one swift movement he was slammed onto the floor, Morgenstern kneeling on top of him. He looked up into her eyes and gave her a smile, not a happy smile, or a complacent smile, or even a smile or respect, it was a crazy, mad smile, one that went with the crazy look in his eyes that only other crazy people knew. Malice burst into crazy laughter, only muffling himself when Ares addressed the class. He kick flipped himself off the floor and gave Morgenstern another look and whispered with a smirk.
"That was fun, we should do it again some time."

Sitting on the second row of the middle section of the lecture room, a boy, with the stagename Plague, watches the first battle unfold and then wraps up with the children of the professor winning. In front of Plague are his binder ready to take notes and his pencil case spewed of its three pens, but those lay forgotten with just a few notes written on the lined page. The 4 Horsemen are underlined and this is the special lesson Professor Stein had mysteriously announced in the last class. Plague of course had read about the Horsemen before but never he thought of them to be real. What truely catches his attention is that those four figures have passed down their genes and some of their desendents are in this very class, by the sounds of it.

It's alarming how the headmaster knows of this, but this has the teen curious. Plague had taken a peek at his fellow classmate, Shutra, when Professor Stein points out that he is not only the Death's son (an already known fact) but also has connection to the Black Horseman. Having a "Death" character in so many cultures arould the world is pretty confusing, Plague realises. Anyways, in this case he'll view Shinigami-san, Lord Death, and the Black Death as one of the same for simplicity sake. With that settled in his head, the masked student cannot help but pitty his fellow student. What a load of responsibilities. He wonder who the others maybe.

Back to the present, and Ares askes the class about their duel with their father and Neopolitan. Plague grins behind his mask when a classmate, Almathea, answers the male twin with an air of fact. Well that is one way of seeing things.

"Illusion," He adds in his own observation. "And you understand your father good, using that against him. And also Malice." Green eyes look down at the bow type Weapon. He just watches the multi-coloured hair hops back to his feet. Plague averts his gaze, remembering his manners, and then asks out loud, "How this help with with the Horsemen? This doesn't feel different than our normal sparring."

There is an itch in his mind that the professor said earlier; during the heat of battle, the Horsemen's ability are shown. Fighting seriously with a fellow student is something Plague would like to avoid. He should have faith that all the staffs in the academy are capable in ending fights, but trusting is an respect that is earned.

However, he should start thinking of who he can partner up for this class activity. Marks are involved afterall. There are a quite a few weapons that Plague have tried partnering at least once. His thoughts breifly scanned even to the two Demon Weapons, Malice and Neopolitan, before he turns toward the book weapon, Shouma (thought wise. That boy is off of his peripheral vision to actually see). That guy is an intresting one. Although he is an difficult partner to handle and rejects his offer as temporary partners often, Shouma's ability is too intresting to pass by. Plague has been meaning to pesture him to partner again sometimes this week. He wants to see if there is more to Shouma than the ability to eat away clothes, but perhaps right now is not the time for pratice.

Neopolitan
Neo popped back into existence with a small pout on her face . She had barely managed to have any fun...which sucked majorly as the battle was over far to quickly. But Neo supposed that she shouldn't have gotten her hopes up to high. He was facing his children after all...and a father would go easy on his own kids. Still, Neo mused, 'I wish he had done his hardest. ' she pouted. Although Neo still had no idea what exactly it was they were sparing for exactly. ... she still wanted to fidget impatiently for another round. Altough she quelled the urge and pointedly ignored the tall weapon winking at some poor delusional girl. If there was one thing she hated, it was a womanizer.

(Sorry for the short replies again, I'll be posting a longer one for Thea in a mo as I'm still getting ready for my day)

Character: Shouma Parr
Hc8USMZ.jpg
Location: EAT Classroom

Shouma was still fixing that look from under the desk upon all the students thinking that some sort of miracle may happen soon. It was then that he listened Prof. Stein's voice: he was urging Shutra to participate in the sparring. The weapon nodding quietly from his wooden bunker, Mr. Desk had been a loyal friend after all even when he was too silent, Shouma was in no position to judge though, since he was not a talker himself.

He even made supportive thumbs ups to the Death-child from his spot.

(Go ...you got this)

The curly haired weapon has still forgotten he is not a psychic...he is just...doing thumbs ups from under the wooden desk. He listened as the explanation went on and the lecturer explained how important it was that Shutra sparred.

Then it happened: he heard the snapping sound of Ares's whip form. It had started..Shouma heard how Prof. Stein tried to relief the students by telling them the infirmary knew of their sparring sessions. Stein was not going to let anybody die but in Shouma's mind... OOOhhh boyyy...he already thinks Prof. Stein could be looking for new corpses, rumours say he did make lots of experiments with people after all.

Things fall down the cliff for the weapon as he is suddenly yelled at.

Could it be?!...Prof. Stein knew he was hiding under the desk?!.... but...who told him?!....was it Mr. Desk?...how could you!? ...Shouma had been betrayed by his wooden pal for the last time. He slowly rose once more back to the surface...he didn't want to give Prof. Stein a reason to beat him or even worse...attend extra lessons after class.

EkfCCtU.jpg

(...Must...survive...)

He witnessed as the sparring started ! both pairs were amazing ! He saw Neopolitan transforming with ease, how she turned into that long dagger with a chain...it looked like a very dangerous weapon!. He saw her preparing for the sparring.... and suddenly...Stein goes down? ... What a surprise! Shouma was impressed even when his countenance didn't express it greatly other than his eyebrows slightly lifting ...were the children that skillful? ....well maybe the father was going easy on them?...or maybe Stein trained them constantly after class...no matter why Morgenstern and Ares seemed to be in a completely different level.
Shouma just listened as suddenly Morgenstern asked a question: what had...Stein done wrong? ...

(Get married....have children...)
Thought the antisocial weirdo/ weapon as he tried to give the situation the most objective analysis he could...he also thought about all the diapers Stein must have changed...two children....double the diapers...and now his daughter is looking down on him with a smug face...Stein was a brave man indeed...

(...Parental efforts...*inner tear*)

Shouma was probably learning way beyond the things he should and reading through nonexistent lines in the scene, yet...soon that rainbow haired man jumped in! Shouma's lips opened a bit in amazement to the initiative! ...He saw as Malice jumped into battle! ...the way he converted his arm into a blade ! good transformation control! ....and then .....down he goes.

He witnessed as malice was pinned down with a knee and then...Stein attacks! ...in an instant he aims for the neck....was that...right?...no...he had missed? ...it was all an illusion? it was now Stein who had been pinned as Neopolitan was dropped! ...and suddenly Ares spoke this time telling Prof. Stein was getting old and giving the class a lesson, the swooning followed and the nosebleed fountains sprinkled around the young man.

Shouma though....seemed to be captivated by something else.
When Ares asked what they just saw-what happened - why?, the weapon answered to himself in thoughts once more.
(...Hang in there....Papa-Stein...*inner tears*)

Shouma was feeling sorry for Prof. Stein...being a father...how....troublesome...to be schooled in his own class...by his children. Being the silent potato that he was, simply thought that ...he wanted to pat Prof. Stein on the shoulder and tell him everything would be alright.

He listened as Almathea thought someone had cheated, he also spotted how Malice bursts into laughter ...that smile of his looked odd to Shouma and soon the rainbow haired weapon jumps up easily.

Then came that feeling...that sensation on the nape of his neck...that feeling we get when someone is looking at us...Shouma slowly peeked through the corner of his eye...
(...Noooooo....*inner screams*)
Yep...Shouma spotted that "bone head" literally speaking: it was difficult to know if Plague was actually looking at Shouma since he was sitting at the back...but the slightest turning of that skeletal head gave him goosebumps...what awaited in those dark and empty eye-sockets ???...what if fire comes out!...what if there are air-horns hidden in there?! WHO WEARS A SKULL FOR A HAT?! ...well..there was that guy that used to wear a teddy bear head ....

Nonetheless!Shouma soon darted his eyes back at the front towards the centre of the class where the Stein siblings were...he tries to stiffen himself....yet he could feel sweat running on his temple....was Plague still looking at him?...

Shouma was indeed an odd ball when it came to interacting with others...he didn't hate Plague...he just...expected the worse: What would happen if he gets paired ? ...what if someone in the class tries to use his ability?...what if "that" happens. Yes Shouma called the side effect of his ability "that"...oh the curly haired weapon couldn't even imagine the humiliation if he ended naked right in the middle of the class. What if someone asks to pair and spar!...there was no other way... Shouma needed to take the initiative.

The slim weapon stood up...and looked at the deadly Stein duo...he needed to make it look realistic..so he tried to put on his war face.

GztHMhC.png

He started to walk down the steps...his arms stretched up and moving in pendular motion almost like a robot....and suddenly....he falls...or..more like...drops....his face against the steps halfway through...not even reaching the hell that awaited down there where the Stein siblings were...

Shouma is not moving...he....was....defeated?...
And so Shouma, averse to the idea of having to spar/get beaten/ use his ability/ end up naked due to side effects/ or get soul forced which was so awkward to him; decided to follow the example of a potato and tries to play dead / faint on the middle of the steps...he will probably get an F...totally worth it

(...master...of disguise...)
Thought the weirdo/ potato wannabe.

Almathea
Thea was having a nice little daydream. she had shipped off into the depths of her the white void that was her mind, she couldn't say she was exploring per say. more like she was...dwelling. yes dwelling. Thea dwelled within her own pit \of washed white wall that pealed and cringed with the pests that scuttled inside them. 'the floor was carpet' and with that thought, a rough gravely tidal wave rose up and washed over the white room. And then there was carpet. a brittle, scratchy sort of carpet that chaffed ones knees and caused blisters and soars to scar ones back. 'home' Thea thought this was her home. from the broken and rotting toys that lay cobwebbed and chipped in the corner, to the empty dingy mattress that seemed to sink into the festering carpet. 'And' Thea supposed, 'this is where my nightmare begins' she would sit in that too bright room with the same scent of sickness in the air and remember. she would remember the the small girl in her arms, asking for a rabbit to dance. she would remember the spattered blood on the pillows that flew from a tiny mouth and stained a pretty porcelain face. she would remember
over
and over'
and over
and over
again.

and she wouldn't try to forget, because this was the only way.
Thea's

eyes lost their film as she slowly returned back to reality. A small sigh left her cracked lips a she lifted her head and raised her hand half way, the nails were bitten and bits of skin stuck up in the creases of her small hands. if all it took to end this ridiculous lesson was to get their ass \handed to them, then Thea was willing to go for it, merely to get it over with. besides, she would not be so easily fooled, her heart strings not so easily manipulated as her teacher. why fight the inevitable...it was after all inevitable, "The worse deaths are the ones we can't avoid" she mumbled under her breath. slowly Thea rose to her feat paying no heed to the young weapon approaching behind her, having been lost in her own little world for far too long, and lands white tightly laced combat boot directly on the young man. paying no heed to the fact that she was indeed standing on someone, (not that she really noticed) Thea began to stretch as into various positions. contorting herself backwards before slowly rising up again.
"well, who will be my partner in this round. or rather, who thinks they could be. i warn you im rather hard to match."
the smiled that secret smile back at them'one that seemed far to cynical and sickeningly sweet at the same time.
"waiting around for a different apponent wont change the game, and id rather not wait around like cattle for this new threat to come about. so i says" she hummed, twirling lightlyand poking her bottom lip with her finger.
"get it over with i guess. not that i like any of you or hope for you to best me, but we're supposedly all friends here."
she sighed.
Thea stuck outher bottom lip slightly and pouted,
"your not afraid of the big bad wolf now are you?"

Plague looks over to the first challenger that raise to her feet, Almathea. The woman has a sharp tongue but she has points that the boy agrees with from time to time. Almathea is currently addressing to the Demon Weapons to be her partner, Plague hears a jeer, a challenge, to the rest of the class to get up and fight. He stands up, his chair scrapping the floor behind him.

"I will fight too," Plague says and looks around the room to look for that curled hair weapon. He frowns by the lack of Shouma in the room. As the skull boy searches around for his soon-to-be partner, he makes eye contact with the pale teal student standing on the steps. Is she taller? The animal skull looks down to her feet, and look and behold! Instantly, Plague knows who it is and his eyes widen in glee.

"Shouma is under you, Almathea." He reaches down and grabs the empty air under Almathea. "Please get off."

He hopes that Almathea desides not to pair up with Shouma. Between the two meisters, Plague has an inking feeling that Shouma might perfer her than him... Not to be rude or anything.

Morgenstern & Ares Stein

Morgenstern watched in amusement as the other boy tripped and fell on his face. Turning her back to the class, she brought a fist up to her mouth and put her curled pointer finger, willing herself to not laugh.

Ares observed his two-years younger sister as she tried her hardest not to laugh. With a gentle sigh, he rolled his eyes and ran a hand through his long silver hair, pulling it back into a ponytail and tying it in place with a black strip of velvet. Truth be told, it looked rather attractive on him.

After composing herself, Morgenstern turned back to face the class, finally giving rise to the answers that the masked boy-Plague, he called himself if she remembered correctly- had been seeking.

"I'm glad you asked" she said. "Yes, it is true that we know our father very well. With my soul reading ability, I can get a grip on what he is most fearful of at the moment. And I can transmit that information to Ares, who had the capability to make people see anything he wishes. And he chose to say on father's fear. He made it appear that he had just killed his own child."

She turned to the one who had accused them of cheating during the spar. "Also, it's not cheating. As they say. All is fair in love and war. If your life is at stake, would you not do whatever you could to defeat your enemies, young Thea?"

She shook her head slowly, once again turning towards the boy with the mask. "Anyways, as for your other question, Plague. This has to do with the horsemen because when a child is claimed by their horseman predecessor, it tends to be in the heat of battle. And when they are claimed, special abilities become evident. We're sparring in the fashion of near death, in hopes that you will be claimed."

Ares nodded and stepped forward to stand by his sister. He spoke, his voice as smooth as the velvet that tied his hair back. "According to the lore, when a child is claimed by his or her horseman parent, a symbol appears above them for a few moments before disappearing, only able to be shown by that child, or by another."

He turned to write on the board. "Based on what we've discovered, these are the symbols that appear. For Death, a skull, as seen in Lord Death's own emblem. Famine, a stalk of wheat. Pestilence, a crow's wing or fly, and war. A weapon of some sort, or fire."

Morgenstern began to speak again, most likely to elaborate on what her older sibling had just spoken about, but was interrupted and cut short by her father suddenly moving, holding her by the throat as a surprise attack. "Rule one of combat and warfare" he said, tightening his grip a bit and cutting off a bit of her air. "Always be prepared for an attack, and know how to adapt, especially if your partner is a human form.

Rule number two. Don't be afraid to hurt someone you know. They'll understand if it is necessary. But if they turn on you, don't hold back."Easily, Morgenstern jumped, shoving both her feet into his abdomen and shoving him away, practically using his hard torso as a platform to do a backflip, catching Ares as he shifted. Only, this time the whip was glowing red, sleeker and brighter, as if it were burning.

Quickly, she snapped Ares forward, hitting the wall behind the teacher, just to the right of him. Only, in its wake, there was a scorch mark on the wall. Well this was new.

Letting out a chuckle, she swung again, this time catching Stein in the leg as he leapt out of the way. The professor hissed in pain, but lunged at his daughter, catching her a bit off guard and managing to tackle her.

Bringing her foot up, she kicked Stein rather firmly right above his most sensitive area, and watched as Ares shifted to a human again before he pinned him to the wall.

"Dead"Ares said. "Better. You almost had us."

After Stein relented his defeat, all the while his son practically choking him, and was released. He rubbed his neck.

Morgenstern and Ares turned back to the class, continuing their lecture on the horsemen right where they left off, acting as if nothing had just happened. Like they hadn't just burned a wall and their own father.

They didn't stop, going on to speak of how the horsemen were like gods, and how their children were once treated as such. Feared, known for the damage they would cause. They were incredibly powerful, and deserved the utmost respect and decent treatment, as they were used in the worst of battles.

They were once treated like kings.

What they did stop for, however, was the sight of someone in the back gaping at them. When Morgenstern asked what it was that they were gawking at, the young female simply just pointed above them.

Glancing up, Morgenstern and Ares looked at each other. There, above their heads, they both had floating lights.

As if in response, their eyes began to glow with the same orange color that morgen's had earlier when she'd pinned Malice.

Ares's light grew to form a large, burning flame. Morgenstern's, however, turned into a bow, which was also flaming.

The children of war, they were. And they had been finally found.

Stein, however, was speechless. He was staring at his two children, astonished. He definitely was not expecting this.
