Jay Estanislao
21
Male
Coffee shop employee: Baker
Personality:
Jay is a rather reserved individual, while he can keep a conversation going, he doesn't care too much to talk about himself, disliking being the center of attention. Rather sarcastic, he often comes across as rude, though it's never his intention, he finds banter to be very enjoyable, and it's mainly how he shows affection. While he knows it's an odd hobby, Jay really enjoys people watching; It's fun for him to try and read people, which he thinks of himself to be rather accurate at. Loud, vibrant settings aren't appealing to Jay, the same goes for people. At most, he can tolerate excessively optimistic people, but he would rather not find himself hanging out with them after the work day. Being a night owl, it's convenient for him that he works at a coffee shop, seeing that when he doesn't get his daily dose of caffeine he often gets grouchy and falls asleep very easily. When Jay does let someone into his circle of trust, he'd never admit it, but he becomes somewhat clingy. He becomes extremely loyal, and expects the same, and when people don't reach these expectations, or if he feels they betray him in some way, he'll be quick to cut them off, interacting with them with a sort of aloofness. While he can seem to be zoning out, Jay is actually very attentive, while he might not comment on it too much, he always takes short mental notes regarding a shift in people's behavior. Jay finds people who can't pick up social cues, or read the room, to be rather irritating a majority of the time.

Appearance: Jay has a mop of unruly, black hair, along with dark brown eyes, usually looking black out of the sunlight. When he isn't in his work outfits, he's usually found wearing baggy hoodies and other casual clothing. He has a shorter stature, reaching around 5'3-5'4, a result of his genetics and a bit of malnourishment as a child. While he is by no means buff, he does have some lean muscle. Jay rarely goes out without his earbuds either in his pocket or hanging loosely by his neck. During the summer, light freckles make an appearance, dotting along his face and shoulders. Jay really only has one set of shoes, a pair of black, scuffed up converse, while it isn't that he can't purchase a new pair, he doesn't see it fitting, since the old ones work just fine. It's rare to see Jay with a smiling face- other than when he feels smug about a comment he makes.

Background: Jay had to grow up at a young age, having to care for him and his younger sister. He doesn't consider his biological mother and father to be his parents, seeing that they were never around. The only rare occasions Jay saw his parents were when they were hosting a party at their house. During these raves, Jay would take him and his younger sister down to their basement and they'd continue on like it was a normal Saturday evening. This pattern of behavior quickly turned Jay to resenting his mother and father, never bothering to form a connection with them. As soon as he was old enough, he applied for a worker's permit, along with a job at a local coffee shop. His parents' pouring their means of money into a party high lifestyle meant it was either this or going hungry, it was an easy decision really. He took a job as a baker, having experience preparing meals for him and his sister, he seemed to adjust pretty easily. It's been 5 years since he started, trying to save up enough money to send his sister to college. Jay doesn't really have any long term plans, as long as he can pave the way for his sister he's satisfied.

Favorite coffee/baked treat- Jay usually gets a black coffee with two sugar packets, along with a chocolate croissant.
