Fantasy Soda and Potions: A Story of Fantasy Rivalry

Characters

Duster Energy
A stoned man stood before a throng of students. Taking a rip from a fat joint, he yelled "NO WAR ON CAMPUS. NO WAR ON CAMPUS." A few of the students lazily joined in the protest. According to this guy, a new company in town pushed filthy products on the masses. They hired death squads in faraway lands to stifle competition. And now, those armies were at the doorstep of the University. "DO WE WANT TO DRINK BLOOD? TO HAVE SOLDIERS TAKE THIS PLACE OVER." This time, the student body responded much more positively.

After a couple of hours of doing this, the group was broken up by campus police as the protest was getting too heated. The man leading the protest snuck off to the fieldhouse, where he met none other than Sashi Salike. She smiled at him. "You've done well today my honey. Here's your cut." She tossed the man a solid bag of crystals, and then another bag that jangled with coins. "I don't care what you do with it. Does anyone know it was us?"

The man greedily fingered through the crystals and looked at Sashi. "Uh no man. In fact, most of the people in the audience weren't wearing Duster merch.

"Good."

==========================

Mr. Tonne was getting antsy. All this talk of armies, expansion and more business did not bode well for the group. Audrix of Wicked Brew wanted an alliance...but it was clearly an alliance of convenience. He would stab them in the back as soon it was useful. Hell, he was probably using Duster as a meat shield for the conflict while he tromped around in other markets...not good at all.

Suddenly Sashi walked in. Tonne turned to her and sighed. "Why did you agree to work with Audrix without my permission?"

"Because it's MY fucking company, pig. I'm not in a good mood right now. And I'm hungry. You're made of pork too" she said with a greedy smile.

Tonne knew this was an empty threat, she was dependent on him to get back to the badlands. "Yea, yea. Whatever. Why don't you use your feminine charms to get with that dragon?"

She rolled her eyes. "He's a fucking spirit in armor or some shit. Can't."

"Oh really? A dragon is a dragon. They're proud, I've done business with a lot of them. I doubt he's in that armor by choice. Why don't you play with his heart a bit? Solidify your alliance, if you know what I mean. Plus who knows? If stuff works out well, you get the ear of a dragon."

Sashi began to do one of her famous yells, but then stopped herself. Tonne had a point. He seemed lonely. The other girls laughed at him. Plus it had been a while since she had a date.

YEAR 3, TURN 11: Spring

Mr Xexion read the most recent news reports from all of the civilized countries in the Realm of Rodaxear. He was very pleased at all of the various tidbits of information that he was coming across.

Warfare has caused two countries to come under the control of a Warlord Sodaman, while another is slowly turning the Council into a land of the hard iron fist.

It is but the calm before the storm. And violence would soon continue. How intriguing that the violence would be becoming greater than ever before involving soda companies threatening countries.

Mr Xexion would eagerly watch and wait to find out what would happen next.

Reginald’s Private Reserve

Mermaid Warriors flocked to Reginald’s service. He was doing the work of the mermaid people. Not only spreading a drink that is their lifeblood, but also greatly increasing the power of the mermaid people.

He was being seen as a savior of their kind. No longer would those of mermaid blood be trampled upon by those of other races. NO longer would the land dwellers look down upon those that lived in both the lands and the seas.

No. With the might of REginald’s Private Reserve behind them, it was only a matter of time before they would have all that they desired. They would soon be worthy of the respect that they deserved and it was all thanks to Reginald.

The mermaid people loved what he was doing and would continue to love him. They flocked to his cause at half the cost of normal and instead of gaining 25 Guards, he gained 50 Mermaid Guards into his service.

However, all was not well in Valley Gorge. While the repairs were underway, there was grumblings from the underclass.

Protests in the form of broken down transports and blocked off roads were but the start. The final parts for the repairs of the Factory never even reached its destination and there was flagrant drinking of other soda products, right out in the open, even. Dangers were afoot in Valley Gorge and it would get far worse if it wasn’t stopped.

A Messenger arrived to Reginald’s Office from Devishly Fine Soda and Potions requesting a meeting at a neutral location with Trilroxan.

Devilishly Fine Soda and Potions

Contact was made with Reginald. Whether it would be held in a positive light or not would be all down to him. Sources say that he has been having difficulty with those that live in Valley Gorge who have begun to squirm under the new management.

With enough greased palms, they managed to find a source of Earthen Mound for their own use. With the sudden flow of chaos, some things will now be easier than others. The soda wars were beginning to heat up.

The Fizz is encroaching on the DeadLands, with a major focus on the Vampire Population. With a drink specifically for vampiric needs, they have begun to corner the market.

Wicked Brew

The Saboteurs had begun their work on their special project and would continue to do so as long as they were able to. They were paid in kind to work and work they shall as progress was being made.

The Board was easy enough to bribe into a defensive measure with all the current on goings. With the many armed forces seeming ready to close in, it would only be a matter of time before SpellHard could be on the front line.

Duster Energy

Clockwork city was soon enough set to be the next big battlefield, at least one of the normal soda variety. With 10 by 10 placing roots as well as Duster Energy, both will have to compete with the full on blitz that is Fizz Soda.

They are attempting to take th city by storm as they had their own country. But the people seem to be a bit resistant, already having a taste for other flavors than the ones that are being presented.

The other nations seem to be heavily resistant to newer flavor shopping up, other than The Dead Lands, which seem to relish in the newer types of flavors and competitive nature that comes from multiple companies on the prowl

The Old Burlsi site was not that hard to bring back up to speed and under the control of the 10 by 10. It would soon enough be bringing in the sweet sweet juices that were to be unique to the lands of the Clockwork City and the goblinoid peoples.

The unique products that were region specific spurred sales into overdrive. The people sometimes would travel to other nations to partake in the different flavors that they would have there. Though as always, it was difficult to enter the churchocracy as a race other than human. But that was where the speakeasies came into play.

A scandal involving the Councilor representing The Fizz was removed from the country after a major scandal involving "relations" with "lesser races". It was profusely denounced as false, but the company was completely removed from any sales within the Churchocarcy.

The Fizz Company

There was varying levels of success to their current blitz type venture.

The eleven Kingdom has readily fallen to The Fizz and now follows in the footsteps of Griihass.

A major setback has occurred in The Churchocracy as Holly Silverson has been accused of a major scandal that she denies. It has come to the attention of the Church that she was seen having relations with those of “lesser races”. She vastly denies these allegations and was greatly offended. The Fizz has been removed from the country.

Clockwork City has become a new battleground with multiple countries vying for its control. But for now, it is having the majority of the market due to their numbers.

The Deadlands are another land of competition, but they are greatly gaining the vampire population on their side due to their high numbers of the drink specific to their needs.

The military has begun its full mobilization for open warfare. Currently, it has now assembled 50 Knights for direct warfare, with more coming soon.

Regi

SpellHard. It looked odd, from here. Smoke rising from the city, how long had it been since he last been here? It felt like a lifetime ago, a lifetime ago where he taught a class that no one attended, where he was given an office far from the students, forgotten and left to the dust. And now? Now SpellHard was a shadow of what it once was. It had been led to ruination by a soda company. The very idea was laughable, almost as laughable as the armada that now followed in his wake.. created over soda.

How.. How had his path brought him here? Back to this place, not as a hero, but a conqueror? Perhaps he would fall in the battle, a fitting place for his death, or perhaps he would burn the academy to the ground and forget about his time her, cosign this place to oblivion and be done with it all.

"My lord? It is time," a feminine voice spoke.

Regniald turned from the rail to look at Nadia.. who had taken to calling him 'My Lord' ever since they took Valley Gorge and Minosa. For a 'Lord', he certainly felt like a pitiful looking one.

"Then launch the invasion. Wicked Brew falls today and SpellHard will fall in line, or be destroyed," Regi turned back to the city as numerous splashes filled the air as the mermaid guards, veterans of battle and taught new combat tricks and formation by the fallen Bandit Lord dived into water to launch the initial assault.

1. Spend 600 gold on hiring Adventurers to deal with the rebels in Valley Gorge [2 200 gold teams and 4 50 gold teams! Give those rookies a chance to earn a rep]. The adventurers are to break up the cults, uncover members of the rebels and get them arrested, to bring them crashing down.

INVASION

2. Spend 1,800 gold on the Invasion of SpellHard. 1,000 Gold will be spent on Adventurers, hiring 5 units of 200 Gold Adventuring teams to infiltrate SpellHard, disrupt the defenses, destroy any plans, and, most importantly of all, ensure Auridrex cannot escape. 800 Gold will be spent on Mercenaries and supplies for the invasion.

Before the invasion begins, and to give time for the adventurers to work, Reginald will ensure surrender is made an option for all but Wicked Brew, those that throw down their arms and spells, would be spared and allowed to prosper under the new order. May backfire [Keyword: Misunderstood]

The Invasion will be much like the invasion of Valley Gorge. The naval forces of J'Kyon and Reginald will blockade the ports and hammer it from the sea. Mermaids [Increased Fighting Capability] will launch an amphibious assault against the, hopefully, weakened defenses and make room for the Bandits and Mercenaries to make land full and finish the assault.

Reginald, himself, will take part in the assault using his knowledge of SpellHard to help guide them through the academy.. and move to end Wicked Brew once and for all [Keyword: Powerful]

'A tad bit more heat on this one, a tad bit more water in with the reeds, shite! The bloody syrup!' Gumkurc Flatbow shot across his small lab, shutting off all heat to the goopy mess of sugary liquid that was nearly boiling in its beaker. 'I had best be more careful, Imra is already on my arse about not wasting as many ingredients as I have in my experiments.'

The skeletal Kobold smiled merrily as he returned to his main work bench, quickly getting back into the creation of a new batch of their most recently proposed soda. This would be around the fifth version of it that he himself had created and he had no idea how many that the other three brew masters had created since the 'Devil's Delight' project had begun, but he had a feeling that they would soon crack the flavor on it. For now though he had best make sure that the reeds he was boiling would properly render down into the tea like mixture he wanted, no point wasting them after all!

Duster Energy
Mr. Tonne walked down the glittering streets of CLOCKWORK CITY BABY! Scantily clad harpies followed behind him, and Sashi was at his side looking embarrassed to even be seen with the old pig. Onlookers gasped at the makeup clad e-girl army that walked down the streets handing out delicious gamer juice to all the goblins and coal-smeared workers. "See toots? This is where the REAL money is" said Tonne. Sashi looked to the glimmering heights and greased cogs that dotted the landscape around her. A steam powered limo-jalopy -monstrosity rolled up to the group, and a butler opened the door. Sashi jumped with fear and tried raking the vehicle. Tonne jumped back and yelled "What are you doing you crazy bitch?"

"WHAT IS THIS THING? IT'S TRYING TO EAT US!" Yelled Sashi. The once terrified butler started to laugh, and the scared bystanders all joined suit. It was infectious and before you knew it, the harpies were nervously laughing too. "It's a form of transportation Sashi"

The group got in the car and was greeted by other Pigmen smoking cigars inside. They talked shop for the ride to Tonne Towers. When they departed, a steam airlift took everyone to the penthouse suite. Tonne lit up another cigar and pounded a few shots of whiskey. "Well Sashi, what do you think? This is my father's trade center...I know all the nice rooms here" he said salaciously.

"How do I feel?" She asked. "Like I'm going to fly around. These tall spires make me want to explore. Byeeee~"

She flew off through an open window. The wind whipped across Sashi's face and wove through her feathers as she hit a hot updraft from a nearby forge. Though the air burned her lungs, this place felt...freeing. The University was tough to fly in since it was so dense and enclosed. But this place? It felt like home in a way. A metal, monstrous version of her home. A few of her sisters joined for the flight, and they flitted from building to building.

They settled atop a large tower facing Tonne Towers from afar and simply took in the sights. Sashi looked hungrily to the goblins and humans that walked around below. They'd make a fine dinner, but this place had far too many eyes. For now they'd look and take in the sights. Work was going to be hard, as aggressive expansion was in the midst. But it was either this, or suffer like a caged bird.

Order 1: Seize Clockwork City, Consolidate Deadlands Influence
Sherlock Moriarty arrived at Clockwork City accompanied by 50 National Knights. He was met by Holly Silverson and the other Councilor, both gave him a customary head bow as they greeted, "Welcome, Dictator."

Sherlock smiled at them and waved his hands, "No need for that, the two of you are my seniors and I'm only dictator until the troubles plaguing our beloved country are over. Now, we shouldn't waste any more time. Each second is crucial, the Clockwork City will capitulate to our authority."

....

3 Councilors, 3 High-Level Adventuring Parties, 3 Seasoned Adventuring Parties, and 100 National Knights are present in the Clockwork City. They will make one final blitz which will allow the Fizz Company to take executive control of the city. Those who side with them will be awarded, and those who stand against them will be struck down, politically or physically.

[Assumed taken over from conversation with Trek]

Order 2: Mobilization, Reinforcement, and Alliance
The Council of Grihaas, The Elven Kingdom, Clockwork City, and the Vampiric Clan which claimed to represent the Deadlands will join together and form a military and economic alliance. The enemy of one is the enemy of all and an attack on one is an attack on all the members of the alliance.

As the armies of the Council of Grihaas are already mobilizing, the other 3 factions are also mobilizing their armies to prepare for a grand war. A vote was made to elect an alliance leader, and unsurprisingly, Sherlock Moriarty was made the leader of the alliance.

Using his funds and the subsidy from the Council, Sherlock Moriarty hired an additional 10 High-Level Adventuring parties who will reinforce the forces of the alliance. Now, he can finally focus on taking over the remaining country on his list - the Deadlands. Resources and reinforcements began to arrive to help the Vampiric Clan be the undead leader of the deadlands.

Reginald’s Private Reserve

Valley Gorge had been a place of hardship, one that seemed to never fully settle down. Which is why it was a good idea that so many Adventuring parties had heeded the call of Reginald’s Private Reserve.

Six teams of Adventurers had turned over every stone, investigated or interrogated their way to get to the bottom of things. It turned out that a powerful adventuring group had been causing all their problems at hand.

It took some time, but eventually they were overwhelmed through numbers and powers of the more improved Adventuring teams.

In exchange for being let go, they revealed that they had been hired by the Brew Cult which was quickly routed out from its cult status in Valley Gorge, not being allowed to fully take route.

The invasion of SpellHard.

At first, the defensive army of SpellHard had been putting up a a fight, and a hell of one, especially since they were outnumbered in both strength and power from the invading army. However, it seemed as though one of the board members had realized that it was which way the tide of battle was going to swing and made sure to open up the gates of SpellHard for the invading army.

In the end, they managed to take a hold of the land, losing only 9 Mermaids and 12 Bandits during the fighting before the fall and capture of the remaining Defensive Soldiers.

Auridrex was captured during the battle along with his Brew Cult. His fate lays in the hands of Reginald.

Devilishly Fine Soda and Potions

Trilroxan managed to easily blitz the government of the Deadlands, having them assassinated in a quick and ready action before anyone could prepare any defenses. Unfortunately, they could not anticipate the huge influx of the army of Griihass at their doorstep.

Before Trilroxan could solidify his control over the region, gaining complete control of the fighting forces of The Deadlands, he was bumrushed by Griihass, overrunning his holdings and taking complete control of the Land.

Due to his masterful planning of escape ports and throwing his minions to the wind, Trilroxan managed to escape back to Reginald controlled lands of Valley Gorge, now completely under the control of the Soda Baron, only managing to lose 10 guards in the process. (4 skeletons, 4 HUmans, 2 Kobolds)

Wicked Brew

Things were going poorly. It seemed as though Reginald was outmanuerving him at every turn. He sent reinforcement supplies to Valley Gorge along with spreading the Brew Cult there, but he had sent even more adventuring parties to sniff them out, in huge numbers. How was one to be subversive against such odds?

It seemed that now was the time to hunker down and prepare for the inevitable invasion. Which unfortunately did not take very long.

The barbarians were at the gates.

The Wizards and Knights were fighting back, making a dent with injuries and some deaths. Though the mermaids and bandits seemed to be a hearty bunch.

Betrayal.

One of the members of the Board had let the bastards in, causing the quick defeat of the Defensive army and their surrender.

To the escape locations! That is what must be done. But somehow Reginald knew this as well. How?? How had he cut him off at every turn? How had he managed to best the intelligence of Auridrex with mere brute strength?

The Mighty Mutated Dragon was captured and now his fate lay at the hands of Reginald.

A Defensive Army was defeated. Current Numbers: 10 Wizards, 15 Spell Knights

Duster Energy

Clockwork city was a huge bust. As soon as they started to make progress there, Griihass moved in with their entire army and crushed the city, firmly placing it under their thumbs.

Deadlands was also a huge bust. First, there was a change in government as Trilroxan took over after assassinating the leaders, but before he could fully consolidate power under his grasp, Griihass once again moved in and crushed all resistance.

It looks like the only way to get ahead in this game was to choose a side. Either Griihass or Reginald……

Things had been going well for 10 by 10 co. They managed to expand their business through the speakeasies and even set up shop in Clockwork city in one of the failed soda baron’s locations on the cheap. Heck, they even managed to hire on a boss in order to make sure that things were moving much more smoothly there then they had ever been before.

That was before THEY came. The council of Griihass swooped in and crushed all resistance, claiming complete control of the city in a matter of hours with their huge host that they had assembled. There was nothing that could be done.

However, they managed to get all of their assets out of the city in tact and this flagrant violation of one of the most holy soda in the Churchocracy had raised the ire of the Holy Nation.

They began to raise their army, currently numbering 100 Holy Warriors and 50 Inquisitors

The Fizz Company

Things were going extremely well. Clockwork City and The Deadlands had fallen to the Soda Baron and Griihass. Two more nations that would not only benefit from The Fizz, but the government of the freest nation in the realm of Rodaxear.

It was only a matter of time before all the other nations would fall before them. The Churchocracy, SpellHard, Mimosa and Valley Gorge.

The final battles of this war would come and be brutal. But only one Soda Baron can come out on top.

50 more Knights were raised to the banners.

Regi

SpellHard had fallen. Many had died, both in the invasion and the defense. All for the whims of two mad creatures. There was no time to help, no time to rebuild, Sherlock Moriarty had made himself exposed, had divided his forces and so presented the best chance at eliminating him now and consolidating it all. To finish these 'soda wars' before they even began. With J'kyon, Reginald was the undisputed ruler of the seas, but that could be enhanced even further with the Mermaid Kingdom, if he can manage to achieve a military alliance with them. They could prove the deathknell to this 'alliance'. He knew the Deadlands had been taken, but he couldn't spare anything to take it, why chase the tail when he could cut off the head of the snake, itself? Deadlands would fall in the aftermath, to be swept up by his forces once the alliance collapsed.

The only question remained, if he won, did he really want to live in this world he was creating through iron and blood? No.. he probably didn't. But if he lost, well, it wouldn't matter anymore.

INVASION

2. Now that the 'Alliance' has split its forces and Sherlock Moriarty had separated himself from the bulk of his forces in Clockwork, it was the time to strike. With the 'Dictator' killed, the alliance would likely crumble from infighting of the powerful councilmembers and member states. One great threat had been slain, one more remained. The Holy Church could be dealt with, if required, after the alliance had crumbled. The naval forces of J'Kyon and Reginald will blockade Clockwork, sinking anything that tries to come in or leave [Sinking! Not searching. No chances. Anything that tries to approach the blockade goes to the bottom of the sea]. Mermaids [Increased Fighting Capability] will launch an amphibious assault against the, hopefully, weakened defenses and make room for the Bandits and Mercenaries to make land full and finish the assault.

800 Gold will be spent on Mercenaries and supplies for the invasion, 1,200 gold will be spent hiring 6 high eend adventure teams to disrupt defensives, but their primary purpose, and only real purpose, is to ensure Sherlock Moriarty doesn't escape... 2 50 gold Adventures will be hired [cause leftover coin] to cause disruption and help the invasion force.

Reginald, himself, will take part in the assault [Keyword: Powerful] to kill Sherlock Moriarty [Kill! No capturing. 'Dictator' or Reginald dies this day, we are bringing this to an end one way or the other.]

DET. BAUMSPILLER: Got the mugshots?

DET. FIZI: See anyone you recognise Mr Smith?

DET. FIZI: Take all the time you need.

DET. FIZI: For the record let it be known Mr Smith is shaking his head.

DET. BAUMSPILLER: Really Mr Smith? No-one?

DET. BAUMSPILLER: We've got a who's who of every infamous criminal across the world lined up in front of you and you recognise nobody?

(Inaudible)

DET. BAUMSPILLER: I guess you and your friends in the criminal fraternity aren't as thick as thieves, as the old saying goes, which is surprising, seeing how there were quite a few mentions of these 'upstanding' men and woman meeting up during the Tonic Takeovers.

DET. BAUMSPILLER: And in the illegal Speakeasies too.

DET. BAUMSPILLER: But how would that be possible Mr Smith? How could all these people show up in the same place out of the blue...

MR. SMITH: No Comment

DET. BAUMSPILLER: ...and why?

MR. SMITH: No Comment

DET. BAUMSPILLER: I guess the why is the more interesting part, especially for what came next. But we'll come to that in a bit

DET. FIZI: From various sources we've determined that these sit downs of the numerous notable criminal parties, was seemingly arranged by some other party unknown to us at the time. Our original theory was the various parties had gathered to discuss the subsequent black market dealings that possibly would occur during the ongoing fighting and rebuilding....

DET. BAUMSPILLER: Wartime profiteering is such an ugly thing wouldn't you agree Mr Smith?

MR. SMITH: No Comment

DET. FIZI:.. But that's before we went back and did some digging and came across an unusual bit of evidence. A soiled bowler hat.

DET. BAUMSPILLER: To be fair, we probably wouldn't have stumbled on to such a thing but lucky for us a vagrant had taken to living in the area. And to the hat.

DET. FIZI: After some preliminary testing we found the damage and discolouration to the hat was from a unique type of acid.

DET. BAUMSPILLER: And who wears a hat, and is full of acid?

MR. SMITH: No Comment

DET. BAUMSPILLER: The supposed head of the Ten by Ten Company.

DET. BAUMSPILLER: Hard to think that it could arrange such a gathering, let alone talk during it..

DET. BAUMSPILLER: But then that's where you come in, Mr Smith

DET. BAUMSPILLER: I'm guessing you were there, being your usual 'eloquent' self, and were perhaps pulling the strings...

The demon could feel it, the strength, the power that he had gained when his guards had died. He had felt it as it happened, their deaths occurring one by one and dooming their souls to the fiery pit. He had reveled in the feeling of growing stronger, laughed as he felt his minions deaths, and had begun to plan for how to gather even more souls for his own. While the enemy, THE FIZZ, had ruined his factory, they had failed to kill him. And now? Now their souls would be ḧ̴̺̺͑ḯ̶̙s̷̡̓̈́.

He had spent much gold on Earthen Mound, so now it was time to demonstrate the real reason for that. They had no factory, and no machines, but they did not need that to produce poison en masse. And should a curse happen to be placed upon the supplied poison? One that doomed any who were killed via it to suffer under his control? Well, that would just make it oh so much better. He would supply Reginald and prove that he deserved a place, be it in this realm or in the underworld in the end.

Order 1 & 2: Defensive Preparations, Alliance Army Returns, The Final Battle
Sherlock Moriarty continued sipping his wine as he listened to his elven assistant's report on the inevitable invasion by Reginald's Private Reserve. He looked at his nervous assistant and chuckled, "It is wise to strike before I could rally more troops but... Reginald underestimates the alliance... or me, to be specific. I am not weak as his previous enemies... I cannot predict the outcome of this battle, but one thing is certain... Either I or him will fall."

Sherlock then passed his glass to his assistant before standing up, "It's time to make preparations. Clockwork City is already in the midst of mobilization, inform the executives to switch the focus to defensive from offensive. Mobilize as many goblins as they can before the assault starts. "

The assistant looked at Sherlock with shock and before she could say anything else, Sherlock spoke, "Yes. I will allow the battle to be brought to Clockwork City. Why wouldn't I?"

...

2000 Gold is spent to hire an additional 10 High-Level Adventuring Party
1000 Gold is spent to hasten and support military mobilization and defensive preparations of Clockwork City.
Alliance members continue to send reinforcements to Clockwork City.

- The Goblins will deploy mines around the Clockwork City, including the waters. The goblins are experts in mines and explosives, enemies will bleed if they wish to take the Clockwork City.

- Sherlock Moriarty was teleported to a safe location.

- 3 High-Level Adventuring Parties, 3 Seasoned Adventuring Parties, and 50 Grihaas Knights are tasked to solely guard the Executive/Dictator's Safehouse in the City in order to protect the Dictator and the Executives from all and any harm. Should the situation turns dire, they must guarantee the escape of the Dictator even at the cost of their lives.

- The rest of the fighting force (50 Grihaas Knights, 195 Goblin Riflemen, and 10 High-Leveled Adventuring Parties) will face the enemies, attempting to prevent them from breaching the city, and countering any operations against the city and its forces. An executive order from the highest level was given, "Mercy is a luxury that the invaders cannot afford. Strike the evil, eliminate the threat, and restore peace to the realm."

- The Alliance Army was ordered to return to the Clockwork City as fast as possible to reinforce it. If the invading forces are overwhelming, the defensive forces must attempt to buy as much time as possible for the reinforcements to arrive.

News of the university falling had hit Mr. Tonne like a...ton of bricks. The old pig was panicking. Pacing around his office. He had called the girls in to escort him to a safe location. This was done under the guise of "touring a new facility." It wasn't safe in Clockwork City anymore. His former home burnt. All of his investments at the university burnt. Nothing this bad had ever happened in his entire history of business. Nothing had ever failed this spectacularly before. A fucking military takeover of all things.

Sashi and her cadre walked through the doors nonchalantly. Tonne was chewing on his cigar and all but messing his pants.

"Ah! Ladies! W-we will be taking a look at our new setup in the deadlands"

Sashi smirked. "Oh. The one that failed? Just like the one here?" Her eyes were cheerful when she said this.

"No....no we just need to put more money into it. In fact, I'll give you a new loan! 0% APR too. I think we can make this work" said Tonne with a cough. He took his cigar out of his mouth and ashed it in the tray with shaking hands.

Sashi clasped her talons together and rested her face in them cartoonishly. "Anything for you boss!" She stepped towards him, still beaming. Tonne relaxed a bit. Maybe things would be alright after all.

Suddenly, Sashi bludgeoned the pig in the temple, knocking him out cold.

"Alright. Tie him up and stuff his fat ass in the car. I heard the guy that wrecked that shitty university was powerful. I say we roast this pig as a peace offering."

She clenched her talons with the determination of a harpie hunting her prey. "This Reginald's heart will be mine. Audrix standing me up was the best thing that ever happened to me" she declared to her cadre."

They all nodded in agreement.

==================

The car ride to find Reginald was a bit...bumpier than expected. Craters from the war and the dead bodies were obnoxious obstacles. At one point, a dying soldier caught Sashi's eye. She jumped out swiftly and ran to him. The man reached a trembling hand to her face. "Water....please....I need water." She rolled her eyes and slashed his throat deftly. It was far too long since she had human.

Sashi called Meera from the car caravan, and the duo indulged in some nice fallen soldier. Meera politely waited for Sashi to take the first cut. Sashi noticed this and smiled. "No hun, you first. I insist." Delighted, Meera unzipped the soldier's flesh like butter with her talon. She pulled his kidney out and took a hearty chomp. "So sash," she said between chews, "do you think this plan of yours is going to work?"

Sashi ripped the man's heart out and took a small nibble. "Well here's the way I see it Meera. One of two things happens. Either this works and we survive, or they just kill us on sight. If the plan fails, we won't be around to care anymore."

Meera pulled out the man's liver. "OH SHIT! I just remembered Biff and Regina. I hope they're not dead. And our little goblin pal." Sashi stopped rummaging around in the soldier's ribcage. She did like the little goblin. "I hope he's ok. I don't even really remember his name. But he was funny. Maybe he's still alive. He's coming back to the badlands if he's still alive. He'd make a FINE jester."

==================

The rest of the ride felt almost bittersweet. Sashi felt like this era of her life was coming to a close. No more adventures. No more scheming behind Tonne's back. She talked quietly in the back with Meera while everyone else was asleep. They recounted tales of getting drunk at bars, meddling in local homecomings, and blowing all of their salaries on frivolous things.

Even though Tonn was a horrible, traitorous pig, they had grown somewhat attatched to him. He'd make a fine dinner though, and it would be enough to honor his memory.

"Do you really think I will be able to pull it off Meera? I got rejected by a fucking mutant dragon stuffed in a suit of armor....am I ugly?"

Meera shook her head. Her face was slightly flushed from the wine she was drinking. "YOU are HOT! Audrix was just too afraid to get with you. He probably had a small dick anyways."

The duo embraced. It would all be over soon.

YEAR 3, TURN 12: Summer

Mr Xexion read the most recent news reports from all of the civilized countries in the Realm of Rodaxear. He was very pleased at all of the various tidbits of information that he was coming across.

Warfare continued throughout the lands. The two Warlords were fighting each other at every pass, gulping up any company or kingdom that fell into their path. It would all be over soon, he knew the drill. Soon enough there would only be one warlord left. One warlord left with everything while the other had nothing.

Mr Xexion would eagerly watch and wait to find out what would happen next.

Reginald’s Private Reserve/Fizz Company

The fighting was intense. The mermaid vanguard rushed in and managed to disable to Mines and reposition them towards the sea lanes that the Griihass reinforcements were attempting to get through. This caused massive delays and some destruction on the incoming reinforcements. They would in no way make it in time to fight in the battle of Clockwork City.

Charging into battle, RPR had the armies of 100 Raging Orcs, 150 Mermaid Warriors, 150 Mercenary Soldiers, 56 Mermaid Guards, 18 Bandit Warriors 15 Wizards, 20 SpellKnights, 11 High End parties, 2 Low Parties

The defensive line not defending Sherlock was: 50 Grihaas Knights, 195 Goblin Riflemen, 10 High level parties,

Defense of Sherlock only: 50 Grihaas Knights, 3 High Parties, 3 seasoned parties

If Sherlock had not separated his forces within the city, it would have been more likely that the battle would have gone in his favor. Morale was on high with The Fizz. The people were ready for what they had already captured and what they now felt was theirs by right.

But RPR had numbers on their side. Their morale was not as high as it could have been. Some among the army was wondering if they were doing the right thing. But others quickly silenced that thought.

The mermaids especially were thinking about having a huge mermaid empire. They would finally be able to expand. And it was all thanks to one man. The Mage, Reginald.

The orcs of the vanguard were tanking shots from the goblins or going down in a hail of fire. There was no middle ground here. They were itching for a good fight and this was one that would go down in the ages. The Battle of Clockwork City.

As the orc line made it to the gates, they found the gates had been opened. Apparently there were some people within the city that had been unhappy with The Fizz takeover. It didn’t take much, other than an invading army of about equal size

As they fought through the city, Reginald was at the forefront, charging through the personal guards that had been left behind from the fighting. Reginald was like a man possessed. Blasting with powerful magic as mermaids and orcs cut down the enemy before them.

Finally, they arrived at Sherlock? And without a hesitation, Reginald had cut him down. Without him, The Fizz would fall. And with it, The Council.

Soon all would be his. There was just the matter of the remaining Alliance army making its way towards Clockwork City.

DUSTER ENERGY has given all its current resources as a tithe to Reginald. Totaled at 2000 GP. The roasted Corpse of Tonne is also offered (If he is inclined to it.) The Harpi Sashi is also attempting to make moves on Reginald if he is inclined. (Diplomacy)

Devilishly Fine Soda and Potions

Souls began flying towards TRiloxan at a prodigious rate. It seemed that many had partaken in the poisoned drink. Especially those within the armies of The Fizz. Perhaps that was what helped the downfall of the army at Clockwork City.

It can be hard to say, but Triloxan felt much more powerful. He had easily gained at least 50 souls within the season. And chances are high that more would follow soon.

Following Reginald seemed to have greatly improved his position for gaining great power and claiming his rightful place within his homeland.

Those that exits beneath the law have all assembled before 10 by 10. They have seen how well the speakeasies have flourished, even with the war going on between RPR and The Fizz. That fact alone has offered them many admirers.

It wasn’t long before they had access to crime syndicates and gangs in all the nations, gaining access to products through the many speakeasies that had been opened in the nations.

It seemed that it would continue to flourish. Even more so with the battles occurring in Clockwork City.

Flames licked across the demon's hand as he stared in wonder. He was finally able to summon hellfire, an ability that had been eluding him for far too long. He could feel it though, he could feel the strength, the power, that he had been searching for oh so long. Sixty souls were now his to claim, sixty that would be tortured eternally when he reclaimed his place eventually. He could feel it though, he wasn't anywhere near ready to attempt that yet. No, he would continue to rip souls from these useless mortals and take them for his own. He would wade into the battles himself and rip and tear, none would be safe, and all would be his to take.

"DUL, gather the workers. We march back to the Deadlands, and we reclaim our homes!" Trilroxan called to the Orc, his form shifting as he spoke. As he stood and strode forwards, he shifted fully into his demonic form for the first time. Black scales covered his form and twisting horns sprouted from his head, wings pushed out of his back and sprayed black liquid against the wall, and claws formed on his fingers. As he chuckled his voice deepened and his teeth grew sharp and pointed, the final transformations finishing slowly.

"Yes Master Trilroxan!" The Orc in question's own skin began to darken and scales seemed to appear near his eyes, the feedback of his claimed soul beginning to manifest in more physical ways. "We are ready to fight!"

"And fight we shall!"
