You take on either the role of a former Deity (Divine or Demonic), or a mortal Hero that has pursued the banished Deities to Earth. The game will primarily center around the human relationships and humility that the Deities build as they learn to live like humans, and the Heroes’ realization that their former adversaries may no longer be the monsters they used to be. Most of the conflicts will center around ordinary problems, interpersonal relationships, and romance, with the godly and heroic nature of the characters serving primarily as context for their difficulty living as normal people. [/div] [div class=mainHeader style="margin-top: 10px;"]A Tale of Gods and Heroes[/div] [div class=mainSubheader][/div] [div class=image style="background-image: url(https://i.imgur.com/Zhcbl8w.jpg); min-height: 100%; min-width: 350px;"][/div] [div class=mainText] We were once like Gods. In the world of Terra Sancta, legions of weak mortals bowed before us in awe and fear, fighting and competing amongst themselves for our favor. In the space of our domains, we were the absolute rulers. We tolerated mortals because their devotion pleased us, and because their faith strengthened us. The emotions and loyalty of the faithful tangibly manifested themselves as sources of power for Deities, allowing us to exert greater influence over the world and crush our enemies. Demon Gods feasted on the fear of those they subjugated, while Divine Gods manipulated their subjects into becoming blind slaves devoted to religious doctrine. We waged a Great War for many years, using mortals as pawns in our endless power struggle. That is, until The Heroes appeared. Galvanized by the Heroes as symbols of hope, we were challenged by mortals who had grown tired of our tyranny and their endless slavery. In less than a year, our eternal rule had collapsed into ruin. Many of us fled in exile, banished through unstable rifts in time and space. We arrived, scattered, in a city of glittering lights. Huge edifices of unprecedented scale and strange metal carriages dominated the impressive landscape before us. This new world was also almost entirely devoid of magic; the best we could do was preserve the tiny reserves of energy we carried here with us. Worse yet, our bodies had changed into the weak, fragile forms of humans—mortals! There was no greater mortification to us fallen Deities. We had arrived in a parallel dimension, in a city named Tokyo on the realm known as Earth. Without a way to return home, and our once great powers absent, we had no choice but to resign ourselves to our exile here. Now we live a humiliating existence as mere mortals, perhaps unaware that others from Terra Sanctum have also arrived under similar conditions—including a few Heroes who have followed us in pursuit. Anyway, it's about time you headed off to work. Those bills aren't going to pay themselves! [/div] [/div] [/div] [div class="infoContainer three"] [div class="scrollBox"] [div class=mainHeader]Metagame Info[/div] [div class=mainSubheader][/div] [div class=image style="background-image: url(https://i.imgur.com/UccCAht.png); min-height: 350px; min-width: 50%;"][/div] [div class=mainText] Thank you for reading this far! This idea was the product of a recent binge on The Devil is a Part Timer and my burning interest in mixing up good and evil. I will now try to set some clarifications on how the game will be run, and what your and my role is in the process. To start off, I’m not particularly interesting in GMing in the traditional sense. I don’t want to be responsible for a million NPCs nor come up with a universal plot to tie characters together. All I want to do is be the initial administrator that sorts people in. Therefore, I’m looking for people who don’t need a GM to write a story, or people who would like to GM themselves. My personal requirements in players and GMs include a willingness to invest in the story, the initiative to push for your own ideas and connect with other players, and a high standard of writing. I’ll briefly explain each of these, but feel free to skip to the last section as well. [/div] [div class=mainHeader style="margin-top: 10px;"]Detailed Requirements (Optional Read)[/div] [div class=mainSubheader][/div] [div class=mainText] In my experience, the reason games tend to fall flat is because the people involved will pace it too slowly at the beginning. The players are too hesitant to get their characters immediately involved and engaged with other players, which means that their interest starts to die down over time. In contrast, jumping right in with an engaging hook makes it interesting from the get-go. For example: a Hero and their archnemesis have a chance encounter on the street, and they can’t stop thinking about each other. Or, a demon and an angel discover that they will be coworkers at the same store! Summed up, I want people who put their characters out there, get in the mix quickly, and are willing to make their characters invested right away. This brings me to the second requirement. You won’t always have the luxury of an event going on or a GM giving you an opening to jump in. Sometimes, you either have to make your own opening or make your own event. I don’t really want to be getting complaints about how “I don’t know how to insert my character into the roleplay!” I realize that some people legitimately struggle with this, but I honestly don’t want to bear the burden of being the guide. Similarly, I’d like to work with players who can create their own NPCs and play supporting characters outside of their primary one. For example, two characters wind up at a cafe. You might insert your character by saying that your character just happened to notice them walking by, and suspected that they were going on a date! So you “covertly” try to stalk them, meeting more characters and forming a chain stalking group after pitching the idea to some other players. That’s how I would approach the situation. Finally, I’d like to work with players whose writing skills I am confident in. I acknowledge that other people don’t find this to be a huge deal, but choppy writing flow and poor grammar really make it hard for me to be engaged in a post’s content. As long as it feels enjoyable to read and I can understand it, then I’m happy. I feel that my passage in the Settings tab is a good example of my own writing style and my own standards. [/div] [div class=mainHeader style="margin-top: 10px;"]Joining the Story[/div] [div class=mainSubheader][/div] [div class=mainText] Supposing you read through this page and are still interested, and feel that you can meet the requirements I laid out, then I’d love to have you aboard! Please express your interest by replying to this interest check, and state whether you wish to be a player or a co-GM for the game. Also, optionally, let me know if you'd like to play a Hero, a Divine God, or a Demonic God! [/div] [/div] [/div] [/div] [/div][/div] [/div][/div][/div]

I'm also interested in the roleplay! I'd prefer to be a player as a demonic god. But if there is any need for a co-gm, I could help in that regard as well, though I am not as experienced or skilled in such roles.

I'm interested in this and I prefer to be a divine god. On another note I like devil is a part timer. Personally like it.

I am very interested, would like to play a demon god and believe i can fulfil the requirements im pretty certain. I could help out as co-gm, but i dont need to be one, only should the need for one arise, i´d be experienced and willing to help out.

I was hoping, that, similar to "The devil is a part-timer", my character could share their apartment with one or more of the other characters. Partly, because i have an idea for a character and she wouldn´t be off too well on her own. XD

So i figured, since the gods surely know each other, she could´ve fled through the portal with some others and when they found out they have to make an actual living, they decided to stay together, so they at least wouldnt be alone and could help each other.

I haven't seen The Devil is a Part-timer, but am so interested in this!!

I would play as a neutral-chaotic cupid, banished from the heavenly realms for creating a slew of "power couples" with terrible (can we say cancerous?) effects on humanity- out of boredom. (Hey, if you're alive for 2000 years, what else would you do for fun?)

God, Lexi. How come you always make Rps that catch my eye? This is twice now....

I'd like to play a champion, if that's alright with you?

I'm not only interested in this rp but I'm interested in being roommates.

Long time no see~ Needless to say Im interested. Would like to go as some sort of chaos/disorder god that finds amusing the life of the modern humans and poorly attemps to imitate them.

Well, Greetings!
I'd like to enlist into this little eye-catching adventure.
While I can't quite tell ya what exactly I have in mind, but I'll certainly make an attempt to make somethin', and I'll tell ya ahead of time.

Not too late at all. I'll probably continue accepting people, based on merit, until the New Year. So it's not first come-first serve.
